Asymptote's Hunting

"Okay! I did it, Master!" said Eris, twirling around on one foot as the clawed tail wrapped about her, before reverting to its normal configuration. Her skin, however, was still caught up in dancing about, it seemed, displaying a brilliant pattern of colors, vibrantly switching hues and shades. In a way, it was almost blinding, but thankfully, the effect began wearing off rather quickly, reverting back to Eris's original reddish skin color.

Charles sighed in relief, seeing Eris relatively unharmed from the encounter. "Good work. Alright, try to divide up what's left of those viruses and leave as quietly as you can. Something tells me we really don't want to get on that... thing's bad side, so I'd rather you didn't stick around too long," he said, stealing glwnces at Asymptote off in the background, who seemed to be preoccupied with laying his fists into the Mimic.

"Aw, but he seemed nice. Nicer than the Prog, at least," mused Eris, who nonetheless got to work with gathering up the fragments of the viruses they had just burnt up, eaten, or otherwise tore to pieces. She also kept a close eye on her partner, as the Mimic might have had some other tricks up its sleeve. As expected, it took her long enough that Charles began to worry whether they'd be able to sneak away in time...

// Summary
[Er.*] Act: Glitch Eater: Strengthen 20 + BugFix1 @ Self
[Er.1-4] Act: Stumble around gathering up virus remnants: RP/Dodge
(bump)
While Eris wandered around tasting the various remnants of the viruses that they'd destroyed, and consuming the, admittedly gaudy paisley pattern glimmering over her skin, Asymptote went to town on the grounded Mimic. It attempted to raise its barrier against his onslaught of fists, but to no avail, and before long the brute had thoroughly smashed the deceptive virus into fragments. When the last traces of viral code were extinguished from the thing, the shards of broken crystal lifted of the ground, spinning quickly to reassemble themselves into an intact and now slightly ethereal mystery data crystal, which then began immediately decrypting itself for them. It delivered an additional chip to each navi before fading away and leaving the two to conduct proper introductions.

-=Surprise Party=-
TyphoonTyphoon (Typhoon)

This family is an upgrade to the viruses found in MMBN. Unlike their game version counterparts, these roll around on four wheels. They are thus able to move and dodge. All of their attacks have the Wind Type attribute, and thus deal extra damage and other added effects when used on Sand and Snow terrain. The viruses themselves are not able to summon this terrain, however. Their secondary attack is mainly used to counter Object chips or creatures that are closing in to attack them.

SatelliteSatellite (Satellite)

Area: Netopia, Sharo, NAXA

HP: 100
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: Trap(Enemy in Targeting Cursor) + Seeking: Movement (High-Alt) + Dodge + Lock-On + Nullify Invis
Primary Attack Accuracy: C
Primary Attack Description: Generates a targeting cursor that sweeps back and forth across the field, looking for a target. The cursor ignores decoys, objects, illusions, and invisibility. If the cursor intersects with an actual enemy, Lock-On is achieved, and the virus launches itself into the sky at High Altitude.
Secondary Attack Attack Damage/Effect: (3 Null + Seeking + Enhanced Accuracy) x 10 Shots
Secondary Attack Attack Accuracy: A
Secondary Attack Attack Description: When Lock-On is achieved, this virus fires a barrage of 10 highly accurate shots at its chosen target before landing in its original position. Accuracy debuffs on the Satellite while using this attack are reduced in severity by one rank.
Element: Null
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): Lock-On1, Zenny
Special: Immobile outside of its primary attack.
Special: This virus will repeat its primary attack until it finds a target, after which it will be able to use its secondary attack once. When it changes targets, either of its own volition or its current target's death, or uses its Secondary Attack and lands in its original position, it must repeat its primary attack until it finds a new target.
Notes: Triggering invisibility or an illusion, or moving the Satellite forcefully after Lock-On is achieved does not allow a target to escape Lock-On. Lock-On is a shift in the Satellite's state, not a status inflicted on its target, and thus cannot be removed.

DarkProgDarkProg (DarkProg)

DarkProgs are Mr. Progs cruelly corrupted and warped to become expendable soldiers. They appear mostly as normal Mr. Progs, but their face is much more darkly colored, and have glowing white eyes, as well as missing their left arm. They attack by emitting static around themselves. While they are fairly strong attackers, especially in groups, they have poor endurance, which is only exacerbated by the fact their attacks harm themselves. They very rarely dodge, but will often try to move close to the enemy before attacking.

((Note: A new navi joining the thread usually reverts the battle counter to battle 1, however, Eris joined mid battle and brought a battle 1 spawn of viruses with her, so the next battle that you request together will be Battle 2, if you choose to seek more busting))
Panting out and shaking his head as he had done his job properly, leaving what looked like a fist-shaped dent in the panel, he finally released himself from battle routines. He looked about, shaking the sweat from his eyes as his hands returned to normal, getting a last second glimpse of the glitch his impromptu partner had before it dissipated. Gathering up his own loot, with two chips mixed in for good measure, Asymptote would begin to slowly approach the young navi, letting out a sigh and slowly putting a hand out towards her.

Thanks for the help out there. Don't know what would have happened if you hadn't come along to help. He expressed bluntly. Joseph would pop up on the screen besides him, giving the two a bow from his sitting position. I really appreciate the help. I'm Joseph, the...maligned navi next to me is Asymptote.exe. Before you say anything...he wasn't always this way.
"Ah, damn it..." muttered Charles, as his earlier plan for Eris to bail before her newfound "friend" finished pummeling an animate data crystal into the dirt was foiled. Immediately, he hit the "Mute" button on his PET's display, and instead opened up a small message window.

"You're welcome, Joseph, Asymptote!" said Eris, as she enthusiastically took Asymptote's hand with both of hers, and shaking it vigorously. Unfortunately, this got a bit of her black fluid on Asymptote's hands, but she didn't seem to notice it much as she pulled away, nor did she notice the frantic messages being sent in rapid succession from her operator to leave.

"Hey, c'mon, there's a limit to how much of an airhead you can be, dammit!!" yelled Charles, as his finger hovered again over the Mute button. However, his hand stopped as various possible situations began to play out in his head. What if they were from some scary criminal organization? What if they would take away Eris? What if-- What if--

Meanwhile, Eris was happily entertaining her newfound friend. "You look pretty strong! Smashed that crystal thing like-- Pow! Smash! Bang!" she enthusiastically gesticulated, complete with mimicking punching movements.
Asymptote didn't seem to really notice the black fluid on his hands, if he did he didn't seem to really convey he noticed it truth be told. But as she spoke again, he couldn't help but chuckle at her, patting Eris' head gently and in turn getting some of that black fluid on her hair.

Ah...well...it's just what I do honestly. he said simply, rubbing the back of his head as he closed his eyes. Like my netop said, I wasn't always...this big or whatnot. But...I seem to be managing as far as things go. Though I couldn't help but notice how you fought. Are you new to the nets? He asked as he opened his eyes, looking the...slightly demonic looking navi up and down appraisingly.

You could say we're about the same way if so. We took on a bounty for Beetanks earlier, didn't think we'd wind up finding another navi along the way. Though, where's your netop? Are they busy with something?
"...?" Eris reacted with a bit of confusion as Asymptote patted her head, though it wasn't for long before he continued to talk. "Yeah! I'm new! Master sent me in for the first time so I could show him I could be useful to him." She began to look around, as if looking for something. Turning her head to the side, up, and all around, looking behind her as well. Her black-pointed tail swished about behind her, though anyone looking at it for more than a glance would briefly get the pointed end directed towards them, before randomly swishing about again. Curious.

"Hmm... Master..." Scratching her head, she muttered something under her breath before tilting her head. "Oh! He's probably at home. That's where he is. I dunno if he's busy, though. He just talks to me and sends me chips and I do stuff. Is there any more stuff than that? Do we have to take this 'bounty' thing too?"
Asymptote nodded at her as she said she was new, this almost seemed to put a smile on his face as she did. I thought as much. I used to be a teacher myself...been with Joseph...I'd say about ten years myself. Though...I was just a normal navi before this happened to me. he explained to her. I'm quite new to the networks myself when it comes to fighting. Only recently, I've been stepping out of ACDC town to explore,
grow stronger.
He continued, before letting her speak again.

Oh, no, you really don't "need" to take on a bounty. It's more an extra thing navis can do to earn a little extra money. Basically, you go up to a mr. prog in a cowboy hat in Netfrica and ask for a list of viruses for the net you intend to fight in. We're on the Normal nets right now, the most commercially used of the networks, there are older networks below this one from what I heard with stronger variations of viruses you can fight here. Joseph explained, seeming to drone on a little bit before shaking his head. A-Anyways. We could help you acclimate to the nets if you wanted to. Asymptote wouldn't mind helping if you're not afraid of a few viruses.

Asymptote grunted at the end of Joseph's teaching, rubbing the back of his head. Well, if you don't mind busting with someone like me.
I've been known to scare people away with my looks alone.
"A teacher... normal navi?" Eris said, tilting her head as she crossed her arms. Looking up and down, there wasn't really any resemblance of anything 'normal' about Asymptote, but then again, she didn't have any real concept of normality in the first place. "I don't really get it, but if you're a teacher, then you can teach me! I'm sure Master wouldn't mind," she said.

"I would mind! Aaaagh," said Charles to himself as he held his head in his hands. He wanted to unmute himself, but the audio software on the PET was rather old and hacked together, and would broadcast his voice to the network as well as Eris herself, having no option to deliver his commands only to the latter. He had a mind to look through some firmware upgrades later, but for now, he opted to stay silent and conceal his identity. Thankfully, it helped that Eris only referred to him as "Master", so he resolved to count his blessings.

"Hmm... Okay, I don't mind. What's there to be scared of?" said Eris, beaming as she walked off, her tail swishing about behind her. However, it paused briefly to point at Asymptote, and he could swear that he heard a low growl from it, before it started flitting about again.

[Battle 2 - Ready.]
[Erysichthon.EXE: 140 HP.]
Asymptote would sigh as he rubbed the back of his head again giving a shrug. "I'll tell you more later I suppose. You and I are Customized navis Eris, not everyone's got one like us." He said simply as he blinked at the tail, hearing a growl coming from it as it pointed at him. Seemed he had more than just Eris to win over as he sent a message to his netop.

She's really aloof. Got a lot to teach her. Though, think you could send a subchip my way real quick? We have a lot of work to do, hopefully, we can teach her enough to live off of. The Netop's a total mystery too. Not sure about them, any normal netop would have popped up by now.

Joseph sighed as he would quickly pop in a Mini Energy into the PET, Asymptote feeling his wounds slightly closing up as his muscles began to loosen as well. Just try and keep close and hope she's stronger than she looks. What I observed wasn't bad, but like us, she has a lot of room for improvement.

(Mini Energy used, 170 HP, battle 2 ready)
((+4 FXP for interactions))

Making quick friends, much to at least one operator's chagrin, the two horror-shop navis set off on an adventure of mutual learning! The going was fairly easy through the twists and turns of the SciLab normal network. In most places a commonly travelled path was demarcated by solar light lines set into the ground, but at times they tapered off to broader, more open spaces with unusual sciency-looking structures placed at regular intervals.

It was in one of these more open areas, however, that the question of 'What's there to be scared of?' became one more worth asking. This space was open and mostly flat, but not too far off a broad, tall wall curved around in a crescent in front of them, covered in a variety of information screens all showing different scientific rad-outs. Most of them seemed to have something to do with a study that was currently being conducted, according to a small notice board at the edge of the wall, but neither of the two navis would really have much time to contemplate or examine them right away. The real problem was that a small horde of militarised-looking viruses seemed to have decided that the screen wall would make a perfect impromptu fortification for terrorising passers-by from.

The most obvious enemy was large, hulking creature with red skin and two long horns rising from its head. It crackled with electrcitity over much of its body as it stepped forward from the centre of the wall, at ground level. To either side, a small fleet of tanks supported the ogre on the front lines — two of them were the ones Asymptote was hunting for his bounty, while the other two were a little different.

Less immediately threatening and possibly more dangerous for general environmental destruction, a pair of handy viruses were perched atop the centre of the wall, apparently thumb-wrestling with each other out of boredom. As soon as the forces on the ground below began to move, however, they stopped, high-fived each other, then drifted apart along the top of the wall slightly, putting some space between themselves. Further out, towards either end of the curved wall, though still perched on top of it, A small gun turret virus began setting his aim sights, on one side, while a wind blowing Typhoon began to rev up on the other.

Slightly to the side, looking like it had been reading the information sign about the study, a Swordy virus perked up and turned towards them as well, looking more distracted than immediately combat-ready.

Asymptote would stop dead in his tracks as the two of them would find themselves in front of a wall covered in screens and information. He wasn't sure what to make of all the info on the screens, but what he could make out were viruses atop of the wall. Eyes darting as he craned his neck upwards, he could see a good number of viruses atop the wall, there were a pair of beetanks down on the ground, yes, but...those viruses were certainly in a much higher and more advantageous position than the two of them were. Not to mention they could quickly rain hell down upon the two of them without trying.

You seein this Joseph? Asymptote asked, Joseph nodded behind his PET with a cough. Clearly. Quite the advantageous position half those viruses are in. Wanna try taking them out Asymptote? Joseph asked his partner, the navi chuckled. He immediately cracked his knuckles at the thought of it.

Hey, Eris. Think you got things taken care of down here? I'm gonna climb up the wall to take out the viruses up there. Meet me up there if you can. Though I'm sure you have things handled down here. Asymptote said in a simple voice, taking a couple large steps towards the wall and giving Eris a pat on the back in turn.

As he said those words, his skin would begin to grow paler and paler until it looked like a discolored off-white. Skin becoming hardened and tough as he tapped into his signature programs, this continued until his body was practically covered in the color, caluses taking over his body and protecting him from small amounts of harm. Though rather rough and hard on the outside, the inside perfectly cradled Asymptote's body with a soft, squishy material that moved along with him. If ya get hurt I'll see what I can do about it, but keep on your toes. keep moving when you go in to attack.
Don't ever forget this rule of battle. But try to plan out your actions before starting anything, better to have a plan fall apart than to be surrounded without a plan in the first place.
He said simply, before taking off.

His feet stomping against the paneling below him, he rushed towards the wall with great speeds. His body cradled and protected by his rather disgusting form of defense, he would be able to at least get to the towering wall in front of them, the data flickering in front of him and, despite his wish to learn more outside his "expertise", he had a job to do. And if he took a hit or two in the process of getting up atop the wall. Then so be it. His body shifting with every step, trying to keep himself as small a target as he possibly could despite his rather large frame.

But as he made it towards the wall, he was unsure how to get to climbing it. He didn't want to start tearing the screens off the wall just to get to the viruses, but as he thought, an idea came to mind. Joseph, Cannon. I have an idea. He asked, and quickly received his asked for chip. As two cursors came into the back of his mind, he begin to calculate his trajectory up the wall. He was unsure if the Cannon's knockback would be enough to propel him up the wall to land on top of it, but it at least seemed better than just climbing up it the usual way. Alright...if I just aim here...and if I do this and let the knockback take me up off the ground... Asymptote muttered to himself as a large, green cannon barrel changed it's self on his hand. He quickly turned his back to the wall, aimed just off center to the ground as his calculations came to many differing conclusions...and with closing his eyes, pulled the trigger as he jumped off the ground slightly, hoping that the knockback was just enough to get him to the top of the wall without overshooting it. Propelling himself like a ragdoll into the air, he had to hope his calculations and predictions were -just- right enough to not get him outright killed.

Knockback is enough to propel self up to the top of the wall
"Ooooh, there's lots of cool stuff around here. How does this thing work? Oh!" said Eris, as she hopped about to and fro, examining and sometimes playing with the many artistic structures of the SciLab network, placed along the main road at regular intervals. Her operator watched with apprehension at first, but eventually, there came to be a point where his wariness dropped to a steady state, and he was merely now watching the companion that she had made. It seemed like the blackened hulk of a Navi paid little mind to the structures compared to his own little monstrosity. Rather, he seemed to pay little attention to anything except moving forward, which at least made Charles slightly less suspicious about him leading Eris around.

What did worry him, however, was the sudden introduction of a large gaggle of viruses. It seemed like the place was a ripe spot for viral infestation, with the huge wall in front of them being practically overtaken by the critters. With the large amount of data displays on it, it had to be used for something important, and the number of viruses about it seemed to be causing it no harm in terms of processing. Still, they had to meddle anyway, with Asymptote already taking the lead and jumping off to scale the wall with an interesting method of using the recoil of a Cannon.

"Okay, I'll try my best! Bye bye!" said Eris, waving off her impromptu partner as he left her side.

With the other monster in the group gone for the moment, Charles unmuted the voice link. "Eris, you need to get out of there."

"Eh? Master? Why?" asked Eris, as she began chewing on something inside of her mouth. Spitting it out at her feet, it appeared to be a coagulated spot of her black residue. The residue began to glow white-hot, before melting into the paneling, and causing it to cave in on itself. Soon, the off-white flooring under her was warping, melting and even bubbling at places, giving off a strange-smelling smoke in the process. In the process, there were some viruses that began to approach her, and it seemed like the virus count was more numerous on the ground.

"Master? Why are you quiet?" asked Eris.

Charles racked his brain to give up a good excuse for Eris to run off, but for the moment, he was unable to pull out anything beyond 'it's a suspicious person'. Then again, Eris supposedly viewed him as her master anyway, couldn't he just order her to back off-- Though as soon as the thought crossed his mind, he put it aside. For the moment, he didn't want to antagonize Eris any further. For one, he actually did want to see how much of a positive relationship he could keep up with her, considering how attractively she was designed. On another point, he really didn't need Eris's bad side providing him with more nightmare fuel than his first night.

The operator's reverie was interrupted by a crackle of electricity from the nearby ElecOgre, snapping him out of his thoughts. "Ah! No, nevermind that!" he said, reaching for the strongest chip he had in the pack he bought. Emblazoned with the image of a red jellyfish, he slotted in the Battlechip, and hoped for the best.

"Never mind... what?" questioned Eris in confusion, as the Battlechip automatically activated itself. The bubbling panels beneath her began to liquefy more rapidly, eventually gaining a red glow. The pointed end of her tail flitted about before it sunk into the melted floor, and immediately after, a small serpentine figure began to swirl outwards from her feet. The little red serpent was made of the molten panels, and it opened up a viscous-looking maw to look at Eris briefly. The demon-like Navi blinked innocently back at it, before the serpent began swirling around her, going further outwards in an expanding spiral. It roared mightily as it searched out for enemies, slamming into them with its face-meltingly burning body.

"Yay! Go snake go!" The whole time, Eris cheered on the dragon's rage, jumping about erratically enough that it was somewhat difficult to get a lock on her.

Eris was oblivious, her operator was over-reacting. Asymptote was analytical and his operator was in agreement. The viruses, for their part, were antagonistic. It started with the electrical one in the centre beginning to charge a great amount of energy between its horns, while the two hands atop the wall disappeared into small holes, only to pop out again with large, dangerous-looking time bombs which they set on the top of the wall of screens.

Asymptote was already moving in their direction while Eris... er... played with herself? The mutability of her body and the resulting black residue quickly made a broad pool of lava that covered most of the ground nearby, but far more fascinating was the way in which the demon girl found that the ends of all of her fingers had suddenly begun to sprout large, peering eyeballs, ringed by lamprey-like circles of gnashing teeth. Before she, or anyone else could really work out what kind of effect this development might have, though, she took care of the oddity in her own uniquely cannibalistic way. Her definition of finger food was, admittedly, somewhat different from the average person.

While she was busy dealing with this discovery, the Swordy flashed down to sweep its blade at her with a look in its eyes that was far more unsettled than any virus tended to look, but perhaps the female horror-shop had put it off even more than it seemed — the virus' stroke went wide, not managing to connect with the girl.

Meanwhile, the quicker two of the tank-like viruses that were watching Asymptote's rapid approach took shots at him as he ran towards the wall of screens. The first missed him completely, the shot thudding into the magma behind him, and causing a section of the space to drain away again, through freshly formed cracks. The second shot was more accurate, striking against his hardened outer skin and sending another small lace-work of cracks through the ground from the force. A few pieces of the ground behind him fell through completely, into broken holes where the damage had over-lapped, but the hulking navi didn't slow or stop.

His calculations were good, even despite his own substantial bulk, and it looked like the blowback from the ground-directed cannon would be enough to get him up on top of the wall. What Asymptote hadn't managed to account for, however, was the swift reaction of one of the wall's sentries: the typhoon launched a sudden burst of air at him as he rocketed towards their fortification, blind-siding the navi with a far more potent shove that threw him to the side and drastically off course.

As he tumbled through the air, however, Eris was making a contribution of her own to the fight, after a fashion. the hungry and vicious lava critter that had seemingly spawned from the union of her tail and the melted floor was surprisingly thorough as it spiralled around the field. Of the creatures on the ground, the only one that managed to escape fiery death at its bite was the electrical virus in the centre; for whatever reason the hungry little dragon managed to avoid the small area of crackling energy around it. Asymptote landed with an ungainly and uncontrolled crash a few moments after the creature dissipated, coming to ground just to the side of the screen wall, on one of the sections of display glass.

Directly above him, the gunner virus couldn't get a clean sight on the brute that had tried to mount their fortification, so instead sprayed its machine gun in a wild, uncontrolled fashion at the one who had decimated their land forces instead. A hail of machine fire chattered everywhere, but amidst it all, only a single shot actually managed to make contact with Eris herself, winging her delicately across he shoulder. One of the ricochets also clipped Asymptote, but it seemed unlikely that the stronger navi of the pair would even notice so tiny a pockmark. The two timebombs on the wall ticked down from three to two, giving the pair something of a time limit to deal with the remaining threats.

Handy Viruses attack by opening a dimensional gate below themselves, and dropping into it. The exit gate opens next to their destination, and they will rise out of it holding an explosive. This explosive is placed on an unbroken panel, and the Handy is free to move after. The use of gates does not count as teleporting, but can be used as a means of dodging as they attack. Gates are only used when attacking, and at no other time. Handy viruses will not set a new explosive until either a turn has passed, or they pass one action without setting a new bomb, whichever comes first. Asymptote seemed to have managed to get his way up onto the wall, letting out a chuckle as the knockback carried him up towards the top. But just as he had managed to get atop the wall and take the fight to the fools that rested upon it...he felt a gust of wind blowing towards him. And just before he could get stable footing atop it...he was promptly swatted away like a massive fly, careening down to the ground. The only thing he could say as the blast of air hit him and blow him off course?

FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- He shouted at the top of his lungs just seconds before being thrown off course. His...unusual casing had held as he was thrown down to the ground, arm over ass and foot over head, sliding to a stop on the glass paneling below him as drool...and a very off yellow colored fluid dribbled onto it. Asymptote groaned out loudly as he slowly popped himself back into place, bones creaking and snapping as he slowly got up, holding his head in one hand. Urgh...did someone get the license of that freight train that just hit me? He asked groggily as Joseph tapped away on his PET for a few moments, noticing the TimeBombs that had been setup by the Handy viruses in the meantime, just on the outer midsections of the wall that stood in front of them.

Hate to tell you this Asymptote, but you've got bigger problems here. Two bombs got setup while you went flying. Hundred HP each on the midsections of the wall near you and your partner. I get the feeling they have bigger blast areas than you might think. But no idea if the Handies will make more as soon as you destroy them or not... Joseph analyzed, Asymptote was still shaking his head at this point, but he had an idea of how to delete those bombs. He wasn't sure how to go about it, but it was better than nothing. Pressing on the side of his head, he tried to relay a communication to his partner. Urgh. Eris. Can you hear me? We've got bombs that are set to blow up soon. I don't know about you, but getting blown up doesn't sound like a fun time. Try to take out the bomb on your end, should be on the outer middle section of the wall near you. I've got the one where I'm at. He would try to relay to Eris before looking upwards at the area in front of him, waiting for a second before quickly moving backwards to avoid any potential attacks from the enemies above.

Asymptote would nod at Joseph before looking at the wall in front of him, it was obvious that the entire bottom was taken out by his partner's attacks, but he had something else to do before he went after the bomb. Inhaling deeply, his body began to crackle with a new type of energy. Small cracks of energy flitting off his body as he tapped into his signature processors. He knew full well he was going to take damage before too long, but at the very least, he could try to heal whatever would hurt him, within a certain amount.

But afterwards, he heard another click in his PET. I doubt you're gonna get far with just your hands. Try this Asymptote. And with those words, Asymptote's hands began to quiver as the data coursed into his body. With a roar of anger, claws burst from between his knuckles, gore clinging to the white, sharp and jagged claws as warm blood dripped down from the tips. With grunt, Asymptote jammed the claws into the wall in front of him and with slow, methodical movements, Asymptote began to climb up the wall, pulling his bulk up with him as he looked to ascend to the midsection of the wall before he climbed to the top to begin his attack on the viruses that were positioned atop it.

3: Try to climb wall to midsection of wall with TimeBomb on it by using RageClaw1Damage: 40 + Slashing (Attack) OR 20 + Impacting (Throw)
Accuracy: B / B then B
Description: Creates an impressive bear claw. Can be used to slash or throw enemies or objects.
Duration: Until Overridden/Broken. Breaks automatically after 6 uses.
Element: Null
Special: Throw: The wielder must first grab the target to be thrown, then the target is thrown in the direction/area indicated. A second check is made if against another object/enemy. Throw deals damage to both thrown object/enemy and the second object/enemy. Damage occurs at point of collision with the ground/wall/ceiling/etc. or an object/enemy, not during initial grab attempt. Objects deal their max HP in damage (instead of the chip's damage) if they hit an object/enemy, then break. If they miss, the object just takes the chip's damage. This chip has a variety of uses.

"Yay! I got 'em!" said Eris, jumping up and down happily. Her tail extracted itself from the lava, though it was a little less... fleshy than it was before, having been cooked to a crisp in the burning heat. She looked at it with a slightly confused expression and grabbed the thick shaft protruding from her back. Shaking it slightly, the soot from its roasting shook off, revealing a freshly regenerated tail. "Oh! That's better."

Charles stared at the screen for a few moments, blinking a few times before he regained his composure. Looking down at the expended chip in his hand, he was surprised by its power. It had wiped out all but one of the viruses on the ground, and her new "Asymptote" friend was taking care of the ones on the well. If she defeated the last virus, she would probably be able to leave. He couldn't care less about Eris's new acquaintance, though convincing Eris herself was a different matter. "One more," said Charles to himself, slotting in another chip into the PET.

The chip's power was infused into Eris rather quickly. "Hmm?" she muttered, seeing the tail in her hand start to emit a burst of steam. She let go of it, whereupon the tail then whipped itself rapidly towards the nearby floating ogre head. "Whoa!" she exclaimed, before the tail returned just as quickly as it went, now returned to its normal appearance. At this moment, she heard Asymptote's voice in her head, prompting her to look around in confusion. Then, she saw her impromptu partner scaling the wall.

"Master! That guy asked me to help him! I'm gonna go and see what I can do!" she said, sprinting off towards the far right end of the wall before her operator could get a word in edgewise. Once there, though, she was assaulted by the sheer difference in height that the wall presented her with. She didn't have any wings to speak of, either. Maybe she could resolve that later. Right now, she needed a boost up.

"Master, I want the spinny fire pole thing!" she exclaimed. Spinny... fire pole thing? Charles found himself making an inscrutable face, before his eyes fell onto the Totem chip. Rolling his eyes, he slotted it in, causing the chip to materialize under Eris's feet. "Wheeee!" she said, reaching the top of the wall in no time thanks to the totem pole under her. One of the totem heads had its mouth slide open, breathing a plume of fire towards some of the viruses on top of the wall. It didn't last too long, allowing Eris to hop onto the wall proper.

With most of the ground units cleared out, but the first assault on the wall itself repelled, Asymptote and Eris called out some quick plans and regrouped. Part of this involved Eris examining her recently charred tail and making sure it was fine, but even as she made sure it had regenerated properly, the demon girl found two extra pairs of hands poking and prodding at the appendage, just to be certain. These hands were connected to wrists, which in turn were connected to arms, which had given her the most curious sensation as they erupted from around the back of her spine, at the mid point of her ribs. It sort of felt like two long, thick shafts being slowly withdrawn from her body, while the surrounding muscles still continued to hold onto them, or something like that. the fresh arms were covered in a residual film of black residue, but after a brief moment of independent action, Eris found that they began to obey her properly, every bit as normal a part of her as her original arms. Neat! The ogre head across from her was just about to begin sending showers of sparks in all directions, but before it could actually get going, Eris gave it a steam clean powerful enough to silence it.

As she began to take off towards the right end of the wall, Asymptote was sizing up making a fresh scaling attempt at the other side. With the help of some viciously extruded bone claws, he made easy progress to the top. Some of the tv screens were left crackling and worse for wear, but this was not really any time for being over delicate, when there were literal timebombs sitting around. As Asymptote crested the wall, attention fixed on the bomb nearest him, the gunner on the end turned its artillery in his direction. The hulking navi was mostly obscured by the bomb itself, but the other virus didn't seem to care, and it rattled away with three quick-fire vulcan shots. Two of them pierced through the bomb to hit Asymptote behind, but they weren't particularly strong and just barely managed to scour off the last of his scar-tissue casing. The skin underneath was more vulnerable, but it was also primed to begin regenerating the moment anything else scratched it.

Meanwhile, Eris reached the far end of the wall, and made use of her totem chip to get a boost up. As she rose, the Typhoon again tried to blast her away from the wall with a sharp gust of air, but the totem rising underneath her pushed the girl up too quickly, beginning to spew fire down the line as it did. The air blast struck the totem pole just as Eris hopped off it, but it remained anchored to the ground and only rocked in place, spinning around once. The two handies on the wall had bailed out as soon as the totem rose up, dropping off either side of the wall to avoid the fire, but the the line of flames did succeed in roasting both the Typhoon at the edge of the wall, and the nearer timebomb before it was spun off course. The burned bomb gave a plume of smoke, before its display shut down and it began to disintegrate. The other one, by Asymptote, clicked down to a '1'

This left Eris and Asymptote lords of the wall now; only a single virus remained up with them, as well as one of the time bombs, while the Two handies turned up to face them from below.

Grumbling to himself as he managed to scale the wall up to the mid-section, he felt a bullet wiz by his body and as soon as the attack finished his skin shrank back to normal, no worse for wear as he was still crackling ever so slightly from his trap, ready to heal away any damage that he would take later on. Not that there would be much of one, truth be told. Asymptote would walk up towards the bomb in front of him, prompting his netop to slot in a chip after a moment, the bomb ticking down to 1 on the display as he did.

Try using that Asymptote. From what I looked up, it "erases objects", so I can only imagine it'll take the bomb out in a single shot. Joseph would say to Asymptote. The navi a bit...dubious on the idea that his reward from the earlier mission for the mafia would be that powerful, wiping out objects in a single shot would be incredibly powerful in the right situations. With a shrug, his processors would immediately open up the data within, clenching and relaxing his fingers for a moment before holding them out, waiting for something to show up in them...but nothing did. He looked at his hands for a brief moment before looking up at the sky. Joseph? You -sure- you loaded the chip in corr- Asymptote began before immediately being taken aback from immense pain radiating from the back of his head. He let out a roar of anguish as he stumbled back one or two steps before a multi-colored light began to emanate from his eyes. HRRRRAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! Roaring in pain, barely able to see from within the bright cone of light within his vision, he had just enough faculties to point his head down from the instructions being shouted in the back of his head subconsciously as a pulse of light began to move forward across the ground in front of Asymptote. It would try to reach out against the offending explosive device, attempting to disintegrate it's existence.

Asymptote would shut his eyes for a moment to stop the beam of light from escaping, the pain in the back of his head and his eyes quickly subsiding as he shook his head, getting the pain out before opening his eyes again. The same bloodshot red, but otherwise no worse for wear. Shaking his head as he wiped away a few tears from his eyes, he quickly turned back to the wall and using his RageClaw climbing gloves, began to ascend even further upwards the wall, trying to make his way to the top so he may help finish this fight. The Bone-White claws smashing into each and every panel on the wall, ripping and tearing out the guts of many of the monitors in his wake as he shakily tried to keep getting footholds in his path of destruction. If only he had more cannons to launch himself with, but sadly, he was without any actual way to make himself go high into the air.

"Toasty," commented Eris as she gingerly steadied her footing on the wall. It was wide enough that she didn't need to do anything special to balance herself, but she had just jumped from a relatively high spot to another. "Hi, Asymptote! ... Oh?" she said, waving towards one of the other occupants of the wall with two of her four limbs, only realizing after a little bit what she had gained from the glitching. Clenching and unclenching her extra hands, she confirmed her full control of them, choosing to shrug it off.

Looking around, she saw that most of the viral invaders had vacated the top of the wall, leaving the Gunner turret to fend for itself. Suddenly, Eris felt a low rumble in her chest. Placing one of her hands on her chest, it felt as if she had a bit of heartburn. Without warning, she then belched out a small eyeball, which flew a surprising distance towards the turret virus. Halfway through its flight trajectory, it burst into flame, turning it from a harmless ball of wet tissue into a flaming ball of wet tissue.

Eris wiped a bit of black bile from her mouth, and swallowed the rest as she dizzily stumbled to the edge of the wall. Shaking her head, she noticed that the two Handies that had recently commandeered the top of the wall were now on opposite ends of the wall's foundation. Then, as if on cue, something flipped inside of her, and the ground began to rumble. Eris looked around in confusion, before a familiar face showed up.

An enormous worm made of what might as well have been mystery meat burst forth from between the flooring tiles, smashing through the screen wall as it went. "Whoa, whoa!" said Eris, as she felt the foundation of the wall rumble slightly under her feet. As wide as the wall was, the shaking still caught her off guard, and she slipped onto her rear, crushing her tail under it. "Owwww!"

"Does she actually know how to fight?" murmured Charles as he pinched the nose of his bridge in proxy embarrassment. At the very least, she hadn't been hurt too much, but with how she had been acting, a slip-up would definitely happen sooner or later, he thought, fiddling with the two spent battlechips he had just inserted.

Making his way to the top of the wall at last, Asymptote was able smoothly erase the other explosive from existence with a rather unexpected beam of short range energy that eliminated the bomb, and also one of the remaining functional screens beneath it. There weren't very many functional monitors left, to be honest, and the scientific display looked like it was fairly close to simply collapsing.

Still atop the increasingly precarious structure, at the other end, Eris hacked up a sever case of Ignis Oculus Halitosis, which the gunner liked even less than she had. When she swallowed the remaining residue from the flaming eyeball, however, the strange sensation slid down her throat and began to sear softly. A moment later her side became split as a new viewpoint opened up; an eyeball had formed in the centre of her neck. Then another one below it, and another one below it. The trail of suddenly appearing eyeballs continued down the centre of her body, one at a time in rapid succession, under her top, over her belly and continued down further in a marching line. Anyone looking on would see the string of new eyeballs reappear from the back band of her skirt, at the small of her back, and begin marching up her spine. They stopped, finally, at the nape of her neck, but Eris was swift to discover that she could see clearly out of every single new eye quite clearly, and unless she decided to tell anyone else, only she knew what any of this meant for the region between the front band of her skirt and the back... But for now it left her looking vaguely like her body had been bisected by the string of eyes, almost like a zipper.

All the better to see with, Eris was assisted once more by her meaty flesh worm, which bashed its way through the area just as the two Handy viruses placed fresh bombs in front of themselves. the worm crashed through both handies, both bombs, and the wall of screens in between, smashing more of the display as it went. The two hand viruses were destroyed, but one of the bomb shuddered, then sent a lance of red energy shooting up to Eris, which it determined as the source of the attack, creating a small explosion all around her in payback. It hurt quite a lot, but Eris wasn't left to suffer — a moment later her totem sent a wave of energy towards her as well, with precisely and perfectly counteracted the blow she'd taken from the unexpected blast.

For a moment, everything was still, the worm fading away once its task was done. The demon girl dropping to her butt atop the wall, however, caused the entire structure to give one final groan of creaking protest, before it collapsed with a crash of scattering electronics. Fortunately unhurt, Eris was able to pick herself out of the wreckage and join Asymptote in collecting their battle spoils.

While Asymptote was acquiring what seemed to be useful chip data, he might notice the way that Eris was collecting many excess bits and pieces of fragmented data as well; she was done before he could think to get a share, but would be more than ready to start collecting the fragments from here on out.

Primary Attack Description: Places a 100HP TimeBomb on the field, with a clearly visible digital timer on it. The bomb counts down for two turns, then explodes, dealing 50 damage to all enemies. If the bomb's HP is reduced to Zero before time expires, the bomb is harmlessly destroyed.

This counterattack is indescriminate, and will trigger against the attacker no matter who or what it may be, without exception.
Element: Null.
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): TimeBomb1, Zenny
Special: This virus cannot attack unless there is at least 1 unbroken and unoccupied panel on the field for it to place bombs on.
A: DELETED
HandyHandy (Handy)

Handy Viruses attack by opening a dimensional gate below themselves, and dropping into it. The exit gate opens next to their destination, and they will rise out of it holding an explosive. This explosive is placed on an unbroken panel, and the Handy is free to move after. The use of gates does not count as teleporting, but can be used as a means of dodging as they attack. Gates are only used when attacking, and at no other time. Handy viruses will not set a new explosive until either a turn has passed, or they pass one action without setting a new bomb, whichever comes first. For more info on the bombs Handy viruses use, see below.

GunnerGunner (Gunner)

Gunners attack every action, if able. They don't bother attacking enemies they can't hit or enemies they can't damage, but they can select Objects as targets. Their accuracy with the machinegun attack is bad because it scatters everywhere. They are aware of this. They are also aware of the fact that their Vulcan attack pierces objects.
