Asymptote's Hunting

Current Target: Beetank
Number deleted: 0

With an explosion of energy as he jacked into the network, far away from the more public areas of the area, Asymptote would begin his search for the designated bounty: The ever prolific Kabutank Beetank

Battle 1, 170 HP, START
The area of the net that Asymptote arrive in was off the beaten track ,certainly, but still consisted of regulated lines and pathways, laid out in neat symmetry. Strips of solar panel lighting skirted the two main structures visible from his entry point, as well as lining the main pathway, which was itself made of uniform, shiny metal panels. There wasn't much atmosphere to speak of here, and he found his steps a little bit lighter than expected, but otherwise everything seemed normal, if bitingly cold.

Slightly less acceptable on the scene were the handful of viruses that scattered Asymptote's immediate area; A short way forward and to the right of the main path, a tall signal tower was made of a metal latticework, with a square platform just below the tip. a pair of twisty viruses perched here, one on either side of the spire, looking down to where and Eleball was spinning in circles inside a large satellite dish, on the other side of the road. It was leaving an electrical scoring mark as it went, and the dish shuddered with each revolution. Coming down the road directly ahead of him, a single Beetank, like on Wrangler's bill, approached, occasionally lobbing an explosive at random left or right as it went.

Finally, there looked to be alone rush virus tinkering and fiddling with a control box at the base of the signal tower. Every few moments it stopped to scratch its head, then began working again furiously. An open toolbox rested beside it.

As Asymptote arrive, however, the Rush glanced about, jumped about a foot off the ground with a startled squeak, then hurriedly began packing ups its toolbox and slinging it over a shoulder as it started to flee. As it stepped away from the control box, the metal door swung open, letting a green glow spill out from the mass of circuit boards and cables. The Rush's reaction seemed to have alerted the other viruses to Asymptote's presence as well, worse luck.

As his feet clanked atop the metal plates embedded in the paneling below him, Asymptote would soon come across a variety of viruses. Though he spotted that Rush virus, the one that took center stage in his mind was the Beetank ahead of him. Though he would soon be sent straight into battle routines, Joseph would quickly scan the field ahead of them, HP values popping up for each virus, the tower and satellite dish...and that green glow from the control box at the base of the tower. His attention turned to the Rush virus. HP value of four, but...the screen would flash "Rare Virus" atop it. Rare virus? I mean...it has four hit points...what about it makes it rare? Joseph thought for a moment. That green glow with an HP value...a mystery data perhaps? Another thought came to mind as he would grab a chip out of his folder.

Joseph. Asymptote would begin, his mind racing as all manner of trajectory, angle and flight pattern would flood his mind, he would hear the two clicks from the PET on Joseph's end. Eyes bulging out as, beneath the mask, a toothy grin would form as the data materialized in his mind. One of a green cloak flying though the air. Asymptote. Try to eliminate the Rush virus, the PET is calling it a rare virus, so I want to see if we can take it down where we're at now. Joseph would simply say, he saw the virus doing...something...with that control box...but what, he couldn't say. He had heard of viruses being..."good" for society at times. But...what kind, loving programmer would let viruses like Beetanks exist? He just shook his head, they needed the resources they could get, and god knew that one less Rush wouldn't be a big deal.

Asymptote grunted at Joseph's words, taking a step forward towards the Beetank. The navi pounding his chest with his fists as he would let out a beastly roar towards the viruses. Puffing out his muscular chest and stomping down on the metallic plates beneath his feet, a light quake reverberating through the ground as he pushed off with his legs, forcing his huge body towards the side as he rolled head over ass to get out of the way of any possible attacks aimed against his form and get into a better position, taking up a diagonal position between the Beetank and Rush. But before unleashing his attack upon his foes, the navi would take a peek at the green glow emanating from the control box, trying to gain line of sight of it before...a flesh colored goop began to wrap all around the object in question. Clinging tightly and wrapping around it as much as possible before finishing, the entire inside and outside of the control box, and whatever might be inside, cradled by what could only be called discolored scar tissue.

After he'd cradle the item in a fleshy casing, he'd immediately activate his DashAttack, though within his mind, a simple dotted line on an axis would show up, to try and help him aim his attack better against the Rush and Beetank. His body spinning around and around as it took on the properties of what could only be described as a "Meat Tornado", fists flying out to his sides and his metallic head just over the top of the whirling mass of flesh. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! ASYMPTOTE...TORNADO! He yelled out as his body lifted ever so slightly off the ground before his body flew in a diagonal direction towards both Beetank and the Rush virus that he intended to try and keep on the field. His body flying through the air like a cannonball, likely crashing through the base of the Signal Tower in the process and taking it down in the process as he would skid to a stop before turning around to survey the destruction he had caused.

--->Beetank, Rush, probably the Signal Tower as well (+1 Accuracy with Take Aim)
Asymptote didn't waste any time setting priorities with the viruses present, zeroing in on the Rush as it prepared to run away. The Eleball careened off the edge of the Satellite dish and came towards hi, electrical spheres spinning, but the hulking Navi was already racing away. the Rush jumped up in the air in panic, grabbed his tools and began to scramble away, but Asymptote was there a moment later. A shell from the Beetank crashed into the panels behind him, and a bolt of lighting, summoned by on of the Twisties slammed down even hotter on his heels, just barely failing to connect, before Asymptote struck the tank in passing, the Rush, and the Tower itself in his flurry of pummelling fists.

By good fortune, his assault didn't strike the control box directly, but the tower gave an ominous creak, one side of its lower supports completely obliterated, and began to collapse with increasing speed and gravity. It came down with a terrible crash, burying the two Twisties under a small amount of mangled metal, but even as the dust cleared and Asymptote came to a halt, a second remote bit appeared above him and hammered the navi with a painful electrical bolt. The rush, staring stunned at the damage for a moment, then back to Asymptote, backed off a few more steps, clutched his tools in front of him, then turned tail, beginning to flee again.

Electricity coursed across his body, the monstrous navi twitching ever so slightly as he sped past the other viruses. Coming to a skidding stop, he turned to see the tower fall over from the lack of support on it. Not to mention his body rippling from the excitement that flooded through him. He couldn't help but get caught up in the fight. And the possible rewards from deleting the small pup would only help further his goals in the future. But he needed to move, he needed to keep fighting. No matter what happened, he had to keep going on.

Joseph, send the FireBurner and Heatshot. I'm gonna make a Rush Flambe if it kills me. He would simply say, his feet kicking up dust as fast as they could. He intended to try and get himself lined up between the Twisties and get a line of sight on the Rush. The world in his mind slowing down ever so slightly as the infinite possibilities began to flood his mind. Wire-frames, dotted lines and the three Axis of X, Y and Z flooding through his addled and chemically run mind. The possibilities for what he could do were numerous, but...the ways of how his plans could go right...there were few. All of them relying on hopes, prayers and even more hopes that he could keep up this way of fighting as he got deeper into the networks. After all. His armory was mostly single-target attacks. He'd have to supplant that with more area and multiple attacking abilities.

Joseph, watching his navi beat feet away from the Eleball, could only sigh. He would bring out the two requested chips, slotting the two in one after another. Just be sure to pace yourself Asymptote. Don't go running out of steam trying to delete the Rush. You already took a hit. He reminded his navi, whom responded with a grunt. His feet stomping across the terrain loudly as he tried to line himself up diagonally between the two partially hidden Twisty viruses. Eyes darting back and forth in his head as he summoned what could only be a hand-made flame thrower. Nozzle made out of scrap metal, the gun made of various pipes that were connected loosely against each other, as well as a flickering flame at the front with a ramshackle and hastily built container holding a single use worth of gas and napalm.

YOU WON'T ESCAPE FROM ME. COME HELL OR HIGH WATER, I WILL GROW STRONGER FROM YOUR CORPSE! HIDE ALL YOU WANT PUP, YOUR DEATH IS NIGH! Asymptote shouted at the top of his lungs, spit splattering out of the holes where his mouth would be, splattering across the ground in front of him as he pulled the trigger. A heavy and white hot flame blasting from the nozzle in the direction of the two Twisties and perhaps the Rush as well. The flames continuing along and scorching everything in their path as Asymptote's anger flooded through the weapon in his hand, flames licking and burning the ground as the attack continued for what seemed like an eternity, before finally snuffing it's self out as the weapon fell apart in his hands. Each metallic bit disintegrating upon contact with the ground.

But Asymptote was not done yet. Summoning up a single-shot flare to his now free hand, he waited a moment for the flames that lingered to finally burn out and disperse, an aiming sight appearing on the gun as he looked down the sight, waiting for his moment to take another pot-shot at the Rush virus. Knowing full well it's signature hadn't disappeared yet, before clicking down the trigger and sending the "Flare" down towards where he thought the Rush had popped back up at, sending it traveling down the way for a few moments at rocketing speeds, before hitting something and exploding into a flurry of flames, hitting whatever could be behind it as well from the explosive radius of the "Flare".

Still focused on the virus that was more interested in fleeing, Asymptote made good use of his calculated targeting and found the spot where his stream of flame could cover multiple foes. One of the Twisties managed to send a fresh pulse to its hovering bit, which struck down at Asymptote for another stinging shock, before both were toasted, even through the metallic detritus. The Rush, still looking for an out strategy, tried to dive away from the jet of flame, but against the odds and despite its mobility, got singed anyway.

It picked itself up, stamping a foot in indignation, but this only served to give the brutish navi another chance to ping him with a fast, accurate heat shot. Before Asymptote had a chance to finish off the seared virus, however, the Eleball rushed him from the side, spinning with crackling energy. One of the two spheres of sparks managed to clip him as it passed by, and the Rush grabbed its things and began trying to scarper again.

Grunting in pain as he had been struck and electrocuted twice over again, the navi's body showing wear and tear as the wounds of his battle began to show off on his body. Electrical burns on the surface of his body, skin beginning to singe black from the power he had been shown by the viruses of the area. Sweat running down his misshapen form onto the panel below, bathed in a soft light. None of that would make him back down. He still had more to do. Joseph could just put through a subchip to heal him up some before he continued forwards into the networks.

Nnnngh. Joseph. AquaKnife me. I'm gonna end this fight here soon. That Rush should be on the precipice of death. Asymptote murmured at his netop. The giant navi's body quivering in both pain and excitement as he was ready to end things here and now. He could only readjust his glasses with a loud sigh. You're already down to 120 hit points Asymptote. Subchips aren't free in the slightest. Joseph would reply to his netnavi, wordlessly slotting in the requested chip as he looked down at the screen in front of him. The navi shuddering out as the data downloaded it's self into his body, Asymptote would simply reply with That's what the Recover30 is for.

With the data downloaded and his offhand comment made, Asymptote would take off towards the defenseless virus he had his sights on. Kicking up cyberdust and sweat in the moment, he summoned the weapon hilt. Poking out from his mammoth hands, a blue blade shot out and curved inwards to Asymptote's wrist. Even with it's pulsating energy, that would soon be short lived. The color dulled quickly as the weapon it's self seemed to...freeze up...glitching out as the weapon pulsed in his hand.

LIGHTS OUT PUP. YOUR JUNK DATA WILL HELP ME GROW STRONGER, SO YOUR DEATH WILL NOT BE A WASTE! He roared out, closing the distance between the two of them as it continued to try and find a way out. If these attacks hit home however, it would find a way out. Into Asymptote's hand, the behemoth of a navi struck. With the lines in his head continuing to help him with his aim, he swung the knife in a wide berth to slit across the Rush virus' throat to keep it from moving anymore. But if that wasn't enough, he crouched down and jumped. Several meters into the air he took the knife in both hands and made a downward stabbing motion with the weapon, aiming the curved knife to plunge deep into the Rush's skull and out of the side. But as he hit the ground, everything quaked beneath him, dust clouds kicking up immediately around him and the rush to obscure the attack's outcome for a brief second before blowing away.

With all his rage and calculations focused on making sure he put down the Rush before it could escape, Asymptote wasn't paying any attention as the Eleball nearby spun its electrical balls again, managing to wing him a second time with one of them, for another minor shock. His efforts at focusing paid off however; the Rush dodged away from the first slash of his knife, but with an unquenchable fury the hulking navi managed to connect his second stroke before the flighty virus could recover, finally depleting its last hip point. this left him with one last virus to deal with now; the Eleball that had shocked him repeatedly with its tiny zaps. Fortunately for Asymptote, this one didn't seem interested in running away.

Grunting as he wriggled the knife free from the ground where the Rush once stood, he felt an annoying buzzing on the back of his neck and with it, a zap of electricity coursing through his veins. He turned to see the ever annoying Eleball next to him, as ever since the battle started. He would let out a roar of anger at the virus to the side of him.

Knowing this was the end of the fight, Joseph would quickly slot into his PET the Recover30 he had sitting right next to him. What happened afterwards could only happen with the rage instilled Asymptote. His wounds would very quickly receive some patches upon the electrical burn marks, the dark and charred skin ever so gradually receding from his body. Afterwards, a howl of anger came from Asymptote's throat, his knife becoming a flurry of cuts and stabs at the virus in question. Each blow very carefully skimming across the sides and front of the virus without a second thought before he would go for the blows against the virus. Stabbing swiftly twice at the small, fat virus, knife swinging as quickly as he possibly could before hopefully ending the fight. Though while Asymptote was busy getting his murder on, the casing around the box and GMD would slowly dissipate from around it, hopefully it would open on it's own for Asymptote's gain.

In a victorious rage, Asymptote turned on the harassing Eleball, and with two quick slashes of his knife put the irksome virus to peace before it could cause him any further discomfort. There was a brief moment of stillness while he could catch a single breath, and his combat routines dropped momentarily — long enough to refresh Joseph's chip queue at least, but before either of them had much chance to do anything else, a cracking, creaking sound began to emerge from the signal tower ruins.

The fleshy casing that Asymptote had ensconce the mystery data in was rapidly sloughing off the crystal, but it seemed like it might have had some ill effect. A crack split one side of it, and a large amount of thick, cloying smoke began to billow out as two red glows lit up in the centre. the cracking sound grew into ominous laughter as smoke covered the landscape, and the netspace felt like it swirled and lurched roughly around the aggressive navi.

As it cleared, the setting had changed — still somewhere in SciLab, it seemed, but somewhere new. the Mystery Data had revealed itself as a Mimic, and now resided at the top of a metal observation platform, glaring down at the navi below, while all around him new viruses sprang forward, ready to attack.

As Asymptote finished off the Eleball, a cloying smoke overtook the battle area around him. Never did he encounter such a thing, but as the scenery changed...he saw himself surrounded on every possible side. Eyes darting around as things finally stabilized, metal under his feet and no doubt, the GMD he had previously protected...was staring at him with murderous intent. Hanging from the newly formed observation platform and glaring intently at the hulking navi, Joseph could only say the one thing that came to his mind.

Asymptote. Joseph started, the navi turning to the sky above. Yea? he replied, careening his head upwards at the voice. Just...just what the FUCK did you do?! Joseph shouted at his navi, getting eyed once or twice by passerby in Scilabs, but at least he had a full stock of chips ready for the next battle, but he was visibly upset at what had transpired. Even if it was far beyond his navi's ability to create such a thing. Asymptote scratched his head and gave a shrug of his shoulders. Joe. You know I don't know what hell just happened. The second I got out of my combat mode...this happened...wait... Asymptote would say before an epiphany came to his mind. That mystery data...I heard some of them were trapped. Granted, there wasn't much I could do without an untrap. Not that we had the cash for one. Asymptote would say, smacking the palm of his hand with his fist at the realization, dropping his used knife onto the ground with a clatter, but it remained .

Joseph groaned and rubbed his eyes. And all the while, the viruses began to close in on them. There wasn't much they could do, unless they tried to flee, but he doubted Asymptote would want that. Well...I suppose for now, try and cut through. I managed to get the chip data from that last battle copied down before we got royally screwed. Keep doing what you can to fight. Joseph would nod at Asymptote, who picked up the knife he still had equipped, a humming heard from the small weapon as he heard a chip click into the PET. This should take a bit of heat off you for the moment.

As soon as Joseph said that, a control tower would summon it's self up next to Asymptote. Covered in scratches and patched up, it resembled a Twisty virus, and with it, it's secondary component would fly down right above it and...look roughly like a patched up UFO with a lightning rod attached to the underside. Looking to Asymptote and giving him a nod before looking around it, the creature seemed not the least bit phased by the predicament it was in. Asymptote would nod back towards the virus before thumbing over towards the Typhoon virus that was well out of Asymptote's reach for the moment. If ya think you can hit it, go for it. Otherwise do what ya can.
Asymptote would encourage the summoned help. But not before causing part of his flesh to discolor, the navi immediately grabbing at the flesh and ripping it off like a used band-aid, causing the navi to hurl out a couple of...colorful...comments akin to "How much does ripping caluses off your flesh hurt" before immediately tossing the hardened lump of flesh around the summoned tower controller and creating a protective casing to help it ward off attacks.

The tower controller would certainly appreciate the help as it began to click and pull away at the control panel in front of it, the tower controller's UFO beginning it's attack routines, swiftly flying around the area around the patched up Twisty virus, circling around and around as it's instructions relayed to it. It would promptly travel off towards the distance, the UFO buzzing around silently before it found it's target. A giant wind turbine on wheels...well, some virus designs were quite "out there" so to speak. Either way, it buzzed around the top of the virus, circling it a couple times before the lightning rod on it's underside glew with a bright yellow light. With a crack of lightning, a bolt of electricity would fall down towards the ground and make a loud explosion, electricity racing through the metal panels for a split second before dying out as the UFO flew back towards it's controller.

Asymptote, on the other hand, while he had a knife in hand, would take a moment to breathe in deeply. His body hardened against his trials in the past, closed his eyes to start channeling his inner horror movie monster. The kind that never dies even when killed. The type that would come back from the bowels of hell to claw at the would be "heroes" for slaying it. He however, wouldn't just stand around. He promptly darted from his position towards the virus in front of the observation platform. If you fuckers think I'm gonna lay down and die...YOU GOT ANOTHER THING COMING! he shouted at the viruses. Knife in hand, his feet smashing against the metallic panels as he made a mad rush at the CannoGuard, he would swiftly find himself directly in front of it. Staring down the barrel of the cannon, eyes darting back and forth between both sides of the CannoGuard virus before finally taking a swing towards it's left side. He knew that the shutter would block his attack and he knew full well that if it turned at the wrong time, it could completely deflect his attack and then give him a follow up attack to the face.

"Okay, I'm in! So I just have to find some viruses, right, Master?"

"Y-Yeah, just go through the area like I told you," said Charles.

Eris began to walk slowly, her tail swishing about as she hummed a little tune to herself. It seemed to be a rather nice day in the SciLab network, though the sector that she had found herself in seemed to be mostly virus-free for the moment. It took her a little bit before she even found any landmarks, but eventually she came across what appeared to be a raised observation platform, with the road leading up to it sloping down slightly as it went.

"There doesn't seem to be that many viruses around here... There's some kind of tall platform up ahead, though," muttered Eris, her brow furrowing as she craned her neck far and wide.
"W-Well, um... Why not go climb that platform so you can get a better look around?" said Charles.
"Oh, that's a great idea! You're the best, Master!"
"A-Ahaha... T-Thanks..."

Suddenly, just as she was about to head out to the platform, a black smoke started pouring out of its tallest point, covering a large portion of the area. The next thing she knew, the platform was occupied by a gleaming green crystal, and a gaggle of viruses manifested about the area. This, along with a huge six-foot-tall hulk in the midst of all of them. It looked vastly different from all the other viruses, appearing to be just as frightening, if not more.

Still, Eris didn't seem to be quite fazed. In fact, she seemed to be quite happy about the entire thing. "Master! I found the viruses! And it looks like someone needs some help, too!"

Looking at the monster in the middle of the virus group, Charles gulped slightly. "Um... I don't think-- Ugh, fine. It's not like I paid for that battlechip pack for nothing. Eh, let's see... I think this was how it worked... Okay, two of these should work. Stay safe, okay?"

"Will do, Master!" said Eris with a quick salute. At her statement, Charles slotted in two of the chips that he had gotten, and Eris started to move. She began dashing to the side slightly, in order to align the two viruses directly in front of her, which were a couple of Satellite viruses. Holding her hand out, it split open at the palm to reveal her grotesque maw, which began to howl in anticipation. A gleaming yellow light gathered between its jagged teeth, before it belched out a powerful lightning strike, aimed to bisect both of the Satellites with its power.

"And the next one!" Eris said to nobody in particular, pointing out towards the road before her, at one of the viruses to the side near the supposed Navi in distress, which was a yellow Swordy. The mouth on her palm widened significantly, before erupting with what appeared to be an enormous amount of blood-red flesh. The excess meat detached itself from Eris's body, before it slammed itself into the metal panels in front of her.

A few moments later, the metallic panels near the Swordy then shifted aside to form a hole. From the hole, a wormlike being amalgamated from the mass of flesh earlier rocketed from out of it, shrieking loudly as it rushed forward, trying to devour the Swordy whole as it went.

"Okay! That went well," said Eris, who then set out to keep herself on her toes, watching for any counterattacks that came her way. As she did so, some black saliva dripped from her palm-mouth, a bit of it seeping back into her skin. Her operator, meanwhile, had little in the way of comments, and was curling up in his chair, trying to hold his dinner from the night before.

Suddenly surrounded by an unexpectedly large number of foes and an evil mimic mastermind, Asymptote wasn't about to go down quiet, and while the sinister green crystal watched on from its elevated perch, he improved his numbers slightly with an allied control tower and remote electric striker, encasing the structure in his own... unique form of protection.

The bit from the control tower sent its first bolt down to the Typhoon with perfect precision just as the fan virus was winding up to do something. Whatever it had been intending, it never got the chance as it was charred from the net. All around him, the other viruses were preparing to respond; the satellites on the hill began sending out sweeping beams, but while one of them successfully locked onto Asymptote's large frame, the other passed him by until its beam caught and locked on something else.

Asymptote wouldn't be able to see just what yet, but the inbound navi had a better view of things as she crested the hill and lined her sights up with the two viruses that had started to prepare launching routines. Just as she released a torrent of electricity from the maw in her hand, the Swordy in front of Asymptote warped in close and swung its blade, air crackling as it cur into him and arced back and forth with the ground. The electrical fury from the red-skinned girl obliterated the Satellite that had locked onto her moments ago, but the line was just a hair wrong and she missed out on eliminating both of them. The attack got the attention of the CannonGuard turret, however, and it opened its shutter to launch a pinpoint shot at her, which she only barely managed to duck away from. A second later, Asymptote's roar was followed by his blade jamming itself into the turret fiercely enough to ensure that it didn't fire again.

While this was going on, The small tank moved in an arc and circled around the remote control tower, bombarding it with a heavy shell that sunk into the fleshy covering that Asymptote had provided and got no further. The newcomer to the fight was more focused on the viruses directly attacking the hulking navi in the middle, however, and she ignored the tank for now, in favour of slamming the unsuspecting Swordy from behind with her turgid flesh-beast. It was a new experience for everyone involved, and as it turned out, one that the Swordy did not care for at all. Fortunately for Asymptote, the Swordy had warped in to strike him just a little bit off centre, so the worm blasted past him just a hair to the right before sinking back into the ground.

As she descended the hill towards Asymptote, it would become obvious to both of them that as well as running towards a fight, it seemed as though she had also been unwittingly running away from one as well. Even as the black fluid moved from her maw and sunk back into her skin, a damaged, manic-looking Prog crested the hilltop behind her.

"COME BACK!!" It called, in an altogether too chipper voice. Its eyes glowed a bright white, and it chased towards the red girl with one arm outstretched. The other seemed to be missing entirely. As it crossed the ground towards her, following her down the hill, a Trio of rats came up behind, all perching on the crest to launch a series of rocket-propelled rat missiles as well. They streaked forward, careening wildly and passing the program by on their way; One hit the newcomer n the side before she could respond, but the other two passed by and began to curve. Still chasing her in the smoke trails of the missiles, the Prog began to crackle with a bright, glowing radiance of electrical energy, its one hand grasping.

"I'M HELPFUL!!" It, rather helpfully, supplied. Amongst this, Eris could feel the trails of corruption working around her system and her form stuttered with a slight visual error. More interestingly, however, she began to smoulder slightly, and the pervasive scent of cooking barbecue started to radiate from her skin everywhere; even moreso than her normal elemental alignment, she was feeling hot, and parched thirsty, like she'd been in a desert without water for a week. The Mimic chuckled darkly from its high tower, seemingly quite amused by all of this.

DarkProgDarkProg (DarkProg)

DarkProgs are Mr. Progs cruelly corrupted and warped to become expendable soldiers. They appear mostly as normal Mr. Progs, but their face is much more darkly colored, and have glowing white eyes, as well as missing their left arm. They attack by emitting static around themselves. While they are fairly strong attackers, especially in groups, they have poor endurance, which is only exacerbated by the fact their attacks harm themselves. They very rarely dodge, but will often try to move close to the enemy before attacking.

As Asymptote had felt the scathing electrical slash of the Swordy cut into his back, electricity raging through his entire body as he tried to hold back the tears, the metal paneling below his feet most assuredly holding the key to why it hurt so much. His body spazzing out, muscles clenching and unclenching randomly as he wound up dropping his knife to the floor with a loud clatter before it finally faded, but not before he would see that she had managed to take out the swordy in one fell swoop, it's fetid corpse on it's front and a hole right through the majority of it's body. Asymptote kicked away the junk data of the virus as he watched an explosion rock against his self-made ally, the explosion however bouncing off harmlessly against the squishy exterior as the virus looked up and out of it's protective casing.

You seein what I'm seein Joseph? Asymptote asked as his ally had soon brought more viruses with her, obviously not knowing they were following her. She was certainly...a weird one...but definitely not nearly as much as him. Really, anything weirder than him would be a massive achievement. Not to mention she was...not exactly hard on the eyes. Better than you, hulk. She's got two Rattons on her ass and I have no clue how she managed to ignore those viruses chasing after her either. Must be new to the net, she certainly acts like it. Joseph would shrug, Asymptote would shake his head at the nickname, but otherwise would brush it off. He turned to his self-made ally before looking at that Satellite that hadn't done anything yet. He thumbed towards it and with a nod, the virus controller would nod back.

Pulling leaver after leaver, twisting dial after dial, the virus would command it's saucer to start it's decent on the locked-on Satellite. The UFO quickly making it's decent from the Typhoon's charred corpse, would circle around the Satellite around and around silently as it readied it's self to unleash a barrage of attacks on Asymptote. With a loud buzzing noise, the UFO stopped it's swirling around the target and with a loud KA-ZAP, a bolt of lightning exploded out from the bottom, causing a loud, large explosion onto the ground with little fanfare before swerving back towards the virus.

With that out of the way, Asymptote would analyze the situation for a brief moment before his mind kicked into overdrive. Calculations flooding his mind, assessing the possibilities of what could happen and how to help her. But the best thing that came to mind... Joseph. FireBurn. I'm gonna make those missiles detonate prematurely. He would say a moment later, time was of the essence here, but he wasn't too horribly worried, she seemed to at least know how to fight.

With a click, Asymptote received the requested chip. But he took a second to look at the mimic hanging from the observatory tower and gave it a good old fashioned flip-off. You're next. He simply said before taking a chance to move, lining up his shot with the girl above him up the hill. Whoever you are, move to the side! I'll take care of those missiles coming towards ya! Asymptote yelled out, a home made flame thrower coming into his hands almost immediately after saying that. With duct tape and plumber's piping in his hands, he would wait a second for Erysichthon to get out of the way of his next attack. As soon as she did, he would let loose a swath of flame from the tip of the home-made weaponry. Flames burst forth from the front, pouring over the next county's worth of terrain as the flames licked up at the metallic panels in front of them, and hopefully, he could take out at the very least the two missiles coming out after the girl before she got beaned more than she deserved for helping his pathetic ass.

"Oh, hi!" said Eris, greeting the Prog that had apparently been chasing her all this time, with some rats in tow. She began to approach, before suddenly being blocked by a tall wooden tower. "Whoa!" she said, recognizing it as the Totem she had taken a rather generous bite out of just some time ago, though it showed no sign of it now. The bottom head of the tower spun in place, before launching a plume of fire towards the new enemies. As it did so, she heard her operator mutter in frustration.

"I told you to be careful..." said Charles. Hunched over his desk, the monitor in front of him was displaying the battle, along with a host of other programs, all viewing the battle's data. One of them depicted a "DarkProg", whose sullen appearance matched that of the Prog currently on the field.

"Careful with what, Master?" asked Eris. At that moment, a trio of Ratton missiles circled about the Totem pole, and one of them careened into her side. "Oof!" she grunted, as the missile exploded, taking out a surprisingly large chunk of her side in an explosive blast. The blackened raw flesh began to smoke as it restored herself. However, rather than any form of pain, she was focused on another more important piece of information-- the smoke coming off of her skin seemed smelled good. Very good, in fact, almost as if someone had started a barbecue and hadn't told her about it. Unconsciously, her mouth began to water, and she gulped. As she did, she noticed that she was feeling deathly thirsty as well, and the two sensations fought each other for her attention. The thoughts of the current battle left her mind as she began to sniff about.

"So thirsty... but something smells good too!" she said, leaning over to her side. Her slightly browned upper arm sizzled from the earlier missile's explosion -- before she knew it, a large chunk of her shoulder found itself in her mouth. Deep black ink began to leak from her overflowed cheeks; apparently her flesh had been done medium rare, and seemed to be quite succulent after the light roast. "Mmmm!" she said, bliss washing over her expression. Her meal seemed to have solved her sudden thirst problem as well, as the black juices parched it quite sufficiently. So enchanted was Eris by the meal that she hadn't even finished chewing her current mouthful, and was already starting to reach for another bite.

"Eris! ERIS!"

"Mm-mmm?" mumbled Eris, before swallowing the meat in her mouth. "Oh! Sorry, Master. Did you want something?"

The bile in Charles's throat threatened to escape as he swallowed hard to force it back down. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he clamped his eyes shut to try and force the image out of his mind as well. "Ugh... Light's sakes... Could you finish taking care of the viruses first before you bite your arm off?"

"O-Oh! My bad, I forgot myself for a little while there," she said. Shortly after, her hand began to glow slightly red, prompting Eris to raise them curiously. The FireHit battlechip's attack parameters soon entered themselves into her thought process automatically. Then, Charles's voice echoed through her head once again.

"Just try to delete a few more of them, and don't get hit by anything this time," he said.

"Got it, Master!" Eris chirped, as she turned towards the Ratty viruses. However, before she could do anything, she heard something from behind her-- "Move to the side! I'll take care of those missiles!" it said. Obediently, she twisted her body towards the side, rotating herself to the other side of the Totem tower. One of the Ratty viruses entered her sights, and she thrust a fist in its direction. Immediately, a fireball launched itself from her outstretched hand, prompting an awed "ooh" from her. She began to look around for another to test her new attack on, and found the rotund Beetank slightly to the side. It, too, would find a fireball careening towards its face, courtesy of an excited Eris.

With the arrival of new allies for both sides, Asymptote moved to assist the unknown girl while his remote tower charged up a bolt for the Satellite that was just finishing its launch procedure. the virus leapt upwards with a burst of fire and steam, but the lightning bolt from the remote tower was too precise and too quick, and the satellite's evasive launch pattern too slow; it exploded with an electronic crackle, sending bits of broken satellite scattering back to the ground below without managing to get a shot off.

Asymptote was moving towards his new ally, calling for her to get out of the way, but the overly enthusiastic, damaged Prog was already reaching her before he could get there. It grabbed her shoulder with its one good hand, eyes glowing and crackling, the shouted in its usual bright voice.

"HEALING WAVE!!" Eris only barely managed to pull herself away and dodge backwards as a violent explosion of electrostatic energy expelled itself from the corrupted program, damaging it and arcing across the ground as well. Only having just shaken herself out of snacking on her own arm, she stumbled back into Asymptote's large frame just as he reached her.

The totem chip that had just popped out of the ground nearby wasn't able to dodge the wave of energy in the same way, and took the brunt of the blast, spinning its faces around as it did. When it stopped, it shot a wave of blue energy at Eris instead of fire at her enemies, but it wasn't exactly wasted.

"ALL HEALED!!" Came the helpful notice from the white-eyed, battered Prog. True perhaps, but if Eris had been caught in the wave the same way her Totem had, it was easy to tell that the burst would have done her major harm. A moment after, Asymptote scorched the two missiles homing in on his new ally, but even though he wasn't able to catch anything else in the fire it still prevented two more potentially hurtful attacks from taking their second chance at her.

Meanwhile, having just received a bolt of healing from her totem, Eris was busy devouring the less useful glitches in her system and replacing them with new ones. Parhaps as a part of her own nature, the more useful benefit from her fist glitch hung about as she cured her thirst; the barbecue scent faded away, but the extra strength of fire in her body remained, waiting to be used. In addition to this, now, the black fluid that seemed to make up her blood began to drip and ooze more actively, building up until it was flowing in small rivulets down her body from anywhere her maw showed itself, or any other break in her skin It began to pool beneath her, bubbling at the metal, and flowed so profusely that she was starting to leave a thick ,dark trail behind her wherever she went. It didn't seem to be harmful... not as though she were actually losing the blood at all... just very strange, and highly disconcerting.

High above, the Mimic watched, and seemed to reach a decision. The most dangerous attacker on the field right now was not, in fact, either of the two navigators. Its red eyes focused, and the crystal body spun once in place, opening up as the layers and facets folded back in geometric patterns. A bright pinpoint of light shone for a moment at its core, before a broad, slicing column of light shot outwards at an impossible speed, searing everythign in its path. The main target of the laser beam, howeve,r turned out to be Asymptote's remote tower. The beam lanced through, obliteratinghte remainder of the tower's flesh coating, and warping the frame of the structure itself. By chance, Asymptote and Eris were alose ina direct line betweenthe remote tower and the beam, but the larger navi managed to dodge out ofthe way, while the beam jsut barely managed to miss the red-skinned girl. A second alter, the spear of light was gone, andthe Mimic had returned to waiting, and watching.

Most of the remaining viruses, however, seemed to heed the Mimic's action, however, and the three ratty viruses on the hill all launched fresh missiles. They zig-zagged across the ground, seemingly aiming for the two navis, but then darted past them both, instead homing in on the base of the tower. One by one, each attack exploded at its base, further damaging the supports, until, with a loud groan, the whole structure began to topple over, crashing down to the metal ground with an echoing boom. The remote bit, having in the air nearby, lost its signal and went dark, dropping out of the air as well, to strike the metal panels with a heavy, inert clang.

One upside to this was the fact that the Beetank, deprived of its target practice, seemed to be at least a little bit annoyed at the Mimic for ruining its sport. It fired its own shell at the Mimic's observation platform instead, though it looked like it would take a very long while to actually get through the larger structure.

It was saved the trouble, however, as Eris released some of her built up power in a pair of burning attacks that were enough to destroy both it, and one of the Ratty viruses as well.

TyphoonTyphoon (Typhoon)

This family is an upgrade to the viruses found in MMBN. Unlike their game version counterparts, these roll around on four wheels. They are thus able to move and dodge. All of their attacks have the Wind Type attribute, and thus deal extra damage and other added effects when used on Sand and Snow terrain. The viruses themselves are not able to summon this terrain, however. Their secondary attack is mainly used to counter Object chips or creatures that are closing in to attack them.

An Ocean of Blood: Minor Terrain-Walker (Sea). At the beginning and end of each turn, the bearer automatically converts the panel they are on to Sea.
It seemed that Asymptote had managed to delete those annoying ratton missiles going in after Erysichthon, and had managed to avoid the counter attack...but it seemed that there were indeed losses, the remote tower he had summoned earlier had been completely trashed, and afterwards he and his ally had barely avoided a follow up from the Mimic afterwards. Sweat on his brow, he had finally noticed Erysichthon's...unique...way of dealing with glitches. She quite literally ripped off a piece of her shoulder to devour them, alongside strengthening herself. Of course, the "blood" that made up her body had quickly dripped down all around her feet, Joseph almost in awe of how it counted the "blood" as a Sea panel, but considering the network...he couldn't exactly say he was completely surprised at it.

Ah...you kinda got a little...blood everywhere... Asymptote would "helpfully" point out, Joseph just rubbing his eyes at this point. But there were three viruses in front of them...and the more powerful one right behind them. Eyes would dart between the trio and the singular, but he saw the UFO his buddy had summoned at the base of the toppled observation tower. And to say it was what sealed the deal on what he was to do next. Mind getting those three left? I've got a bone to pick with that mimic down there. Asymptote would ask as he began to turn towards the monstrous GMD that had started this mess in the first place. Stick around afterwards if ya can, would love to get to know ya. Asymptote casually added as he began to lumber forwards, toward the monster below.

Step after step, Asymptote began to casually stomp his way down towards the monster in front of him. Feet echoing as he continued, step after step, in a slow rhythm. Fucker. he started, cracking his knuckles as he strolled up towards the Mimic. His steps growing louder and louder as he began to break into a rhythmic jog. With a click, Asymptote received his mainstay chip from his folder. Hands growing outward as a yellow met-metal began to cover across his hands. His digits and palms soon twice their normal size, a plus sign on the back of one hand, and a minus on the other. with a loud clang of metal against metal, fists meeting each other as he broke into a sprint and then a run. Asymptote lumbered forward, toward the mimic virus. DON'T FUCK WITH THIS MATHEMATICIAN!

With that, a roar of anger came from Asymptote. He rushed headlong against his foe, steps heavy on the metal below him. His body shifting with the wind in his face as two targeting reticles appeared in his mind's inner eye. Each reticle aiming for various points on the virus' body. Asymptote would pull his arms back as he leaped towards the virus and the observation platform. Asymptote took one shot at the base of the structure, aiming the fist at the back-left and right side of the platform to try and topple the platform and the virus from up high. He would quickly take a step backwards to avoid the platform from toppling atop of him. And then he'd take his action straight at the mimic, leaping from his position and attack the virus with one large punch to it's frame.

"W-Whoa! A healing wave! But it looked kinda weird... The Totem looks a bit burnt," commented Eris, as the statue spun around to patch up the damage she sustained earlier. "Oh, that kind of tingles," she giggled.

"I'll bet..." muttered Charles under his breath, though his excitement didn't last long when Eris's blood decided to dilute itself copiously all over herself. On one hand, the blood soaked slightly through her dress, but on the other hand, it was difficult to distinguish her from a cheap horror flick now. Not that it was ever easier before...

At that point, the Mimic crystal decided to make its presence known by firing its laser past the two combatants, just barely skirting past her face as it fired. "Whoa!" she exclaimed, as the viruses focused their fire on the spiky-headed RemoteBit operator and subsequently destroyed it. Then, her impromptu partner announced his(?) intentions, and bounded off to show the crystal some tough love. "Okay! Good luck!" she cheerfully said, waving the big hulk off.

"Look, Eris, I really think we should probably leave after you clean those last viruses up, okay? Starting with this Prog. It's gone a little crazy, so you need to delete it too," said Charles, just as he slotted in two new chips.

"Aww, but it just wants a hug... If you say so though, Master," said Eris, as the battlechip data began to morph her body once more. This time, in addition to her arm splitting apart to accommodate the projectile data from the Shotgun, her pointed tail also started to becone a little wild. Sharp claws shot out of its end as it became a literal third hand, whipping out seemingly at random.

"Hup, and... fire!" announced Eris, leaping back slightly for some distance, as the maw in her palm spat out a flame-engulfed ball of bundled-up entrails, consuming part of the glitch she had earlier. Upon hitting its first target, the Prog, it would then bounce off of it to explode spectacularly, catching anyone unfortunate enough to stand behind the errant Prog.

"And two!" The devil Navi then broke into a sprint towards one of the rats, with her split-up arm collapsing in on itself, consuming some leftover entrails that was hanging off of it, along with the copiously dripping blood. Quickly reaching her target, she then spun about rapidly, in order to catch the Ratty with her clawed tail and bisect it clean in half.

Accuracy: B / B then B
Description: Creates an impressive bear claw. Can be used to slash or throw enemies or objects.
Duration: Until Overridden/Broken. Breaks automatically after 6 uses.
Element: Null
Special: Throw: The wielder must first grab the target to be thrown, then the target is thrown in the direction/area indicated. A second check is made if against another object/enemy. Throw deals damage to both thrown object/enemy and the second object/enemy. Damage occurs at point of collision with the ground/wall/ceiling/etc. or an object/enemy, not during initial grab attempt. Objects deal their max HP in damage (instead of the chip's damage) if they hit an object/enemy, then break. If they miss, the object just takes the chip's damage. This chip has a variety of uses.

Pleased with its efforts at 'healing' the damaged Prog near Eris began to crackle and charge up as it readied another violent wave of energy, but Eris swallowed her regrets and blasted it with her uniquely flavoured shotgun blast. The effusive splatter of blood and guts was also wide-spread enough to blind-side a nearby ratty and end its missile-launching ways.

From atop its tower, the Mimic cycled with a hum, the crystal facets spinning and folding in on themselves as it recalibrated its beam, and fired a second searing bolt directly at Eris's back for her efforts. By good fortune, she moved in just such a way that, though the beam looked like it passed through her shoulder, Eris herself was displaced just a hair, and the painful laser missed her. The totem, just beyond, was not so lucky, and this time could not endure the punishment, crumbling away.

Asymptote had had enough of the commander on high wrecking their things from its perch, and made his assault to bring the tricky virus back down to their level. His first blow shattered all four supports around the tower with brutal efficiency, and it began to topple. He dodged around the falling wreckage just as a missile from the other ratty slammed into the toppling debris; it had been aiming for the hulking navi, but failed to connect. The mimic, for its part, seemed to hang in the air for a moment; they did generally hover, after all... but it only lasted a brief second before it wobbled, then toppled out of the sky to crash down to the metal panels below with a heavy thud. The landing seemed to dissipate its barrier from the sheer impact of landing, and sent a small crack through one of its crystal facets besides, but Asymptote was about to make its day a whole lot worse, as he brought his fist smashing down on the virus with unbridled fury, shattering a few of its faces and sending a strange, crystal-scraping screech through the air.

Eris, who was discovering that there really was always time for a mid-battle snack, continued to cannibalise herself until the excess blood stopped flowing, but she'd barely taken care of that anomaly before a different one began to show up... in the form of paisley pattern designs all over her skin. Each one glittered and sparkled, and they danced over the surface of her skin like they were all swimming with each other. The effect was eye-bending to say the least. It did not stop her from closing the remaining distance to the remaining rat and slicing it apart with a quick efficiency, leaving only the mimic itself for the two to finish off.

Primary Attack Damage/Effect: Trap(Enemy in Targeting Cursor) + Seeking: Movement (High-Alt) + Dodge + Lock-On + Nullify Invis
Primary Attack Accuracy: C
Primary Attack Description: Generates a targeting cursor that sweeps back and forth across the field, looking for a target. The cursor ignores decoys, objects, illusions, and invisibility. If the cursor intersects with an actual enemy, Lock-On is achieved, and the virus launches itself into the sky at High Altitude.
Secondary Attack Attack Damage/Effect: (3 Null + Seeking + Enhanced Accuracy) x 10 Shots
Secondary Attack Attack Accuracy: A
Secondary Attack Attack Description: When Lock-On is achieved, this virus fires a barrage of 10 highly accurate shots at its chosen target before landing in its original position. Accuracy debuffs on the Satellite while using this attack are reduced in severity by one rank.
Element: Null
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): Lock-On1, Zenny
Special: Immobile outside of its primary attack.
Special: This virus will repeat its primary attack until it finds a target, after which it will be able to use its secondary attack once. When it changes targets, either of its own volition or its current target's death, or uses its Secondary Attack and lands in its original position, it must repeat its primary attack until it finds a new target.
Notes: Triggering invisibility or an illusion, or moving the Satellite forcefully after Lock-On is achieved does not allow a target to escape Lock-On. Lock-On is a shift in the Satellite's state, not a status inflicted on its target, and thus cannot be removed.

Asymptote would chuckle to himself as the Mimic came down by his feet, no defenses and no way to stop what was about to happen. He moved to it's side, grinning widely under the metal mask, snorting as he looked down upon the mimic. Truly pathetic. Can't handle being thrown down a couple dozen feet. Now then, DIE! He yelled, fists clenched tightly. He reared back his arms in preparation for an attack.

Swinging down low and going for an uppercut, Asymptote began to attack from all manner of angles. One going in low from the right and another swiftly jabbing at the virus' left. Each swing with great amounts of power behind them, Asymptote made sure to stay just out of the way of his partner's attacks if she made any at this point.
