Front Counter

"ANOTHER ONE!" Soryu's voice came from the back room, and from it, a WHACK sound could be heard, followed by another WHACK. The sounds were not unaccompanied, as two chips landed on the counter in front of the operator.

The shopkeep then walked up to her, and said his greeting. "Thank you, and have a good day!"

Desmond wobbled into the store in a daze trying to figure out what he wanted to get. He promised Tennisman he'd check for anything that would speed up Deuce's recovery, but he had never seen anything like that in the store before. Still, it never hurt to ask. He strolled up to the front counter and scanned over the inventory.

"Hello," He said politely, "I'm kinda looking for something that fixes..."

He trailed off as something caught his eye on the stock list - an apparently new product that did just what he was looking for named 'SPRevive'.

"Oh! Wicked. Uh, yeah, I guess I'll take two of those SPRevives and like a bunch of those energy pack things. So uhh..." His finger trailed down the list of available items, "Four of these, four of these, 3 of these... Oh this looks neat, I'll take one of these and uhhh... Two of those."

Desmond wasn't sure what he was buying but he figured it was better to be safe than sorry. The total cost came out to be much higher than he expected but he was never one to think about long term investments.

Soryu realized he had spoken that out loud, to which he responded by immediately going silent and quickly gathered up the subchips Desmond ordered before he placed them in a small paper bag. He mumbled "Have a good day," before he turned and walked towards his back room; his hands rubbing together as he hissed under his breath, "Yess... I'm gonna be rich..."

Desmond weighed the bag a little before heading out of the store.

"Yeah, this should be okay..." He mumbed to himself, "I wonder if the navi shop has anything new?..."

He gave a passing thought to his navi's status, but then shrugged it off. He could probably handle himself for a little longer. Visiting SciLabs wouldn't take that long.

Lex finally made it to the shop, still half asleep and with little actual motivation to be out of his bed; Grey seemed to have almost total control. Frenzied shouts could be heard from the PET mike as Lex made his way in, "Left, left, LEFT... Ohhh...", Lex went leftwards, directly into a chip display, luckily it had a plastic barrier to prevent such disasters.

After a few more near catastrophes, the duo eventually made it to the counter, "Ok excellent, just stop here, HERE! Phew..." the navi continued, leaving the Netop propped up precariously against the counter side, he then directly addressed the owner, "I say there, shop keep, I would like to buy a few minienergy sub chips... About 6 should do it", he had the sound of an old rich man who had never once in his life shopped for himself, once again addressing the zombie-like Lex, Grey ordered, "Give the man 300 zenny if you would", the instruction was carried out almost immediately, if not a bit shoddily, a cascade of coins spread across the table.

Sweeping the coins from the table onto his hands, the shopkeeper dumped it inside his cash register and picked up six of the requested subchips...but something came to a realization for the shopkeeper as he only took four. Handing the subchips along with few changes, he sighed as he looked up towards Lex. "Son, you gotta know your limit. Your PET can only hold up to four subchips right now. If you want more, buy some Subchip expansion at ol'man Suitachi's shop."

Lex suddenly perked up as he heard the words of the wise shop owner, trying to save the little good image he had, Lex's mind raced as he thought of what to do next, Twice I've been here, twice I've been half asleep, I can't come across as stupid as well... gotta look for a scapegoat... his eyes fell on his navi, "I'm sorry, my navi doesn't no much about subchips"

"Don't blame this on me", a quick retort came from the navi, "Your the one that stays up till all kinds o... mhum...", the navi was stifled as Lex attempted to muffle him,

"Don't mind him", Lex quickly cut in, "He's had a few too many blows to the head", the Netop then turned to leave for the door; he made his goodbyes and headed of to his next destination.

<Of to Navi Shop>

[Hours later...]

Having returned from his trip to SciLabs, Destin wondered into the chip shop of his new hometown for the first time. He wasted little time looking around and headed straight to the counter.

"Hi. I'd like three MiniEnergyPack sub-chips (150z) please."

Scooping up three of the energy packs from the counter, he handed them over to Destin after neatly packing them into a plastic bag marked 'Soryu's Chip Shop'. "Damn, you kids are buying up these minis like there's no tomorrow. It's uncanny, I tell you," he drawled on, mostly to himself.

"The net is a dangerous place right now. We need our navies to be in top shape."

Destin replied before he took off.

Jack, having just barely gotten off the metro after falling asleep on the ride over, hurried to the chip shop, getting his wallet ready for the transaction. Opening the doors to the shop, he placed down 320z in small coins before speaking. One energy pack and four mini-energies please. he said as he waited for his chips, though not before yawning.

(4 mini-energies=200z, 1 Energypack=120z)

Energy packs... man, he should just rename his shop to Soryu's Energy Shop if this was keeping up. "Right, just one second," he said before grabbing the requested subchips from the impressive mound behind the counter. What was even more impressive was that it was quite well-hidden to the point that Jack didn't even see him take his purchase from anything. He produced the items on the counter and proceeded to sweep the coins into the register.

"There you are."

Impressive...thank you sir. Jack said as he did the old magician's trick of the trade. Nothin up my sleeve... he mumbled before waving his hands over his purchase and "disappearing" his subchips with the power of the slight of hand before walking to the corner of the chip shop that had the chip trader machine as Freya mumbled under her breath during the walk. Showoff...

Destin Obscura walks into the Chip Shop looking to purchase a few MiniEnergyPacks. He had used so many up in the last string of battles that he needed to replenish. He walked up to the counter and put down a 200z chit.

"Hi. I need four MiniEnergyPacks please."

Soryu briefly considered simply refusing to sell any more energy subchips unless people started buying other things with them, but decided he would rather keep making money if this was all people were coming for. He scoffed, then solemnly produced the MiniEnergyPacks from under the counter. He placed them on the counter, then took his payment and looked away sullenly. "I should really up the price on these things or something..."

When he looked back and saw Destin still there, he sighed and tiredly shooed him away. "Yeah, yeah, just go."

Destin nodded and was shooed away after taking the MiniEnergyPacks.

Walking in and trying to remain as brisk as she could despite her circumstances, Rania put on a happy face and greeted Soryu. "Hello Soryu," she greeted him, fishing in her pockets for money for her supplies. "I'd like to buy a ColdPunch. After seeing Anyis use on in our last fight, I think it'd be really nice for MeleeMan to have one too," she explained, fishing out 3600z.

"That's a good present. I approve," MeleeMan grinned, cracking his knuckles. "Buy me some more fists while we're here."

"No," she answered, keeping her eyes cheerful by force and locking them on Soryu.

"No problem. Hey, I wonder what kind of weird ways Persephone would use this? Hm, that's strange, I do wonder what happened to her and Area. I haven't been in contact with them recently," Shuryou mused, exchanging the money for the chip.

"Have a nice day," the shopkeep waved, scratching his chin as if he was deep in thought.

Bowing and leaving Soryu to his musings, Rania exited the shop and hurried for the metroline. She was bound for Scilabs next.

Jared walked up to the door to the shop, saw someone on their way out through the glass of the door, and opened it to let them walk by. He then walked into the shop and up to the counter. He looked down into the display case until something finally caught his eye. "Heya. I'd like to purchase a GrabStop and an Unlocker." Jared said as he swiped his card through the slot on the PET, loading the requisite 3400 Zenny onto it, and then placed it on the counter.
