Being on the old forum doesn't mean that you get bonuses to every new navi you make. Others have gotten it again because they haven't used the navi much/at all. You, on the other hand, have used AniMay for quite awhile, so normal rebirth rules apply.

I was hoping that the rebirth rules would become the new standard for anyone with a previous navi on eather site...

Nope. If you're changing both Navi and Op, you get nothing, unless you can come up with a REAL good RP reason for your new Op to have your old Op's chips.

Yes, but it can do damage as well.
It's an either or.

Well, I looked around for it, and I noticed that so far, literally the only things that change with a level 1 cross is this:

Now I'm not complaining, because that's reasonable, but what gets me is that there's no mention of either losing your original element or doing anything whatsoever with subtype. It's not just there; nowhere in any of the subtype rules can it be found. Honestly, it doesn't even say you get a new element; you just get the elemental bonuses with none of the weaknesses. So basically, with SeraphimCross, MeleeMan would still be Fire and Breaking only with boosts to non-elemental chips, which doesn't sound like the original intention.

The reason I'm confused is that most people tell me that they thought you gained the other navi's element and got to choose whether or not to adopt the subtype; the replaced subtype and element were lost while the Cross was in use. Is this somewhere in the rules that I'm not seeing?

VABCA is just broken, btw. Meant in both ways.
