[LynFXP > 34, LynCross > 1.]

"H-Huh?" blurted out Aurora, as Lyntael posed a strange question out of the blue. Her eyes widened as she began to fidget, twiddling with her fingers and looking off into the distance to avoid eye contact with the other girl. "Well, uh... You know... I mean, I guess, yes, I'm not really hiding it. But, well, it's pretty weird, right? Probably not something I'd like most people to know. Ahaha, haha," she said, scratching at her cheek with a sheepish-looking grin. From the way she was acting, it wouldn't be a far stretch to misunderstand that she was afraid to express her feelings to Eternalis, but in reality, she was more concerned about what people would think of her--after all, her object of affection wasn't exactly very pleasant to look at.

Thankfully, her revelation didn't last for too long, as she received a voice link soon after. "A-Aurora? Are you there?" Shortly after she heard the voice, her face shifted from flushed embarrassment to abject confusion. The reason was that the voice wasn't someone she was expecting--it was a female voice, and a rather reserved-sounding one at that. However, when she checked the identification in the voice link, the person on the other end was clearly authenticated as Eternalis. It reminded her of someone...

"... Eternalis? Is that you?" she said, at the same time broadcasting the voice link into a public-facing speaker that boomed out from her ear covers.

The voice on the other end replied almost immediately. "Y-Yeah? I-It's kind of high up here... Um, anyway, we've got a few viruses in front here, s-so I'll be engaging first. Um, please stay away from me for a bit, I-I don't know how much energy this is..." the female voice said, before the voice link abruptly ended with an electrical snapping sound. There was no mistaking the tone of voice, Aurora thought, as she turned towards Lyntael. Then, she turned her sights skyward, right before she felt the influx of restorative energy within herself, and a deafening sonic shockwave erupted through the Sharoan net-airspace.

Her body was rattled from the shockwave, as she tried to regain her balance, but it wasn't over yet. The shockwave was quickly followed by a similarly spectacular sight--she quickly spotted what seemed to be a golden shooting star rocketing down from the heavens, which slammed into the ground some distance in front of them. The impact created a spherical electrical storm that blasted up a fair bit of snow, which Aurora shielded herself from by putting up her arms up against her face.

"Ugh!" she grunted, being drawn back slightly by the impact. To make matters worse, a duo of IronShields had also popped up in front of them. Her battle instincts went into high gear as she immediately determined the best course of action. "WaterLine!" she barked out, the vocal order being immediately transmitted through the PET's link. Sure enough, the chip was swiftly delivered, and Aurora turned to her busting partner to issue a warning. "Hang back, Lyntael!" she yelled out, before she activated it to summon a blasting geyser from underneath the howitzer-wielding IronShield viruses.

She then leapt back slightly to survey the area, and she saw what had happened to Eternalis earlier. Though the distance was reasonably large, she could still spot a golden streak of light dashing about, which appeared to be a very short, very charged-up young girl. What was different about what she saw was that the girl had not a thread on her body, being comprised entirely out of a luminescent golden fluid that crackled with electrical energy. Running counterclockwise around the cavernous crater that another Bluegon had emerged from, the girl was identified by her visor's analysis overlay as Eternalis.

The sight made her giggle slightly, before she spotted something to the side. "Oh, he missed one," she said, spotting a lone Whirly crab at the perimeter of the Bluegon's hole. She held up her hand in a finger gun gesture, with her middle and index fingers pointed out at the virus, before firing off an energy "bullet" from her fingers that pierced through the air. Afterwards, her attention went back to Eternalis, whose lightning-fast movements encircled nearly every remaining virus on the field, before the comet-like girl rocketed back up into the skies, presumably where Sparky was waiting again.

Aurora's reaction to her question only succeeded in making Lyntael giggle more, her grin growing behind her partially-muffling mittens. She'd been fairly sure, but it was good to have it confirmed. The other woman's nerves about the subject were only spurring her romanticist glee and her eyes danced over the momentary titbit of gossip. Aurora's reaction made her wonder just how much of thing it was, though. she seemed kind of uncertain and nervous about it... she said she wasn't keeping it a secret, but, wasn't that the same as putting the signs out there in the hopes that he'd see and understand... if it was more official it would have been a firmer yes, she felt.

"So... Does he know yet? Have you s-said anything?" Her head tilted a little, the grin mostly covering her features now and showing an array of small, neat teeth. That her lips were still tinged with blue and she was still obviously fighting shivers might have detracted from the moment a touch, but it seemed as though Lyntael herself was happy for something fun to distract herself with, and romance was, patently, a very attention-drawing hook for her. Guileless in certain other ways, though, it would probably be clear to Aurora that the young girl didn't appear to see any problems with or anything odd about her being interested in Eternalis as he was; there was a certain judgement-lacking innocence to her questions.

There wasn't any time to really press further though, as they were interrupted by Aurora having to take a new message that distracted her from the current line of conversation. Lyntael's brow furrowed as well when she heard her friend's confusion, and she blinked a few times, starting back slightly as the broadcast introduced her to a new voice. Puzzled, she looked for Aurora's eyes and mouthed a silent 'Who?', despite the obvious familiarity with which the voice spoke to her.

A moment after, she felt the sense of Eternalis' pre-emptive restoration feeding down to her, and looked forward over the snow and uneven, damaged ground to see what was going on. No sooner had she looked, however, when more viral defences emerged from the snow ahead, training on them, and another of the over-populous dragons rose up from somewhere deeper in the net to challenge everything in its vicinity. Lyntael winced, shrinking back from the scene involuntarily, but then did her best to stand straight again as long as Aurora was standing with her. there was a lot of them, though, and her eye lingered between the dragon, and another one of those many-armed mechanical creatures that had hurt her so badly before. The happy moment faltered as her heart jumped to a rapid, endangered beat.

A shock-wave from above made her gasp and jump, taking an extra step back and she looked up to try and see what had caused it. What her eyes focused on, however, was the streak of gold that cratered down to the battlefield. It wasn't Eternalis, like she'd expected, but it wasn't... her eyes began to pick out more details, but she wasn't sure what to make of what she was seeing just yet. she looked up towards Aurora with some uncertainty, about to ask another question, but the other woman was already preparing for more conflict and Lyntael only nodded, managing a quick, partially cold-stuttered agreement to let her friend go first. Did Eternalis have a little sister, she wondered? The figure was moving around at a break-neck pace, trailing small sonic shock-waves wherever she went, and Aurora had darted forward as well to quell the sudden appearance of more hostiles. Lyntael... hesitated, drawn in on herself and hugging at her arms for a moment while she watched.

The return of the tension had started to send fresh snaps of energy arcing in her hair but she swallowed and tried to assess everything sensibly. Aurora was fighting, and she couldn't see Eernalis anywhere, but the other, smaller girl... the penny dropped more firmly, but she didn't have a lot of time to process the fact as it connected. Right now, she just had to take from it the belief that both of her friends were fine, and they were always going to be far more capable and beneficent than her anyway. Aurora had told her to hang back, and a part of her desperately wanted to do just that; to stay where she was, and try not to be noticed, and wait until it was over... but she was still adamant about getting better at keeping herself under control, and... well... not running and hiding all the time. She couldn't just take a pass while she had friends here to protect her, after all; she wasn't going to improve like that at all. What could she do that was useful? Her eyes fell on the dragon virus once more. The program that had sent her after them had been right; there was no way so many of them should be running rampant in these areas of the network, at least as far as she understood... but it was right in the middle of everything else, and she desperately didn't want to put herself where a bad reaction was going to do more harm than good again.

Next, she looked, with another nervous swallow to the mechanical virus. It was away from the others a bit, arms up and ready to go flying like she'd seen it do before. The all too close memory of the pain and damage she'd felt, with two of those things around, gripped at her, but another quick glance at the tiny version of Eternalis.... Eternala? ...darting around the battle field helped make up her mind. If she could deal with this, then perhaps that would let her shake off that particular fear before it became any more rooted in her mind.

With that thought, Lyntael began to move, running as she gathered the air currents with and around her, letting them circle and blow while she moved through the snow and sought firmer footing. The gale that whipped around her was comforting, in a way, and as she went through what she'd learned quickly, Lyntael resisted the urge to build up her charge or release it. the goal was to keep control, and use only what she needed, and to keep a rein on it. So... Her steps crunched in the snow as she drew close to the Ashuraid. She knew it was sturdy, and that its outer shell was a lot harder than the rest of it. It flung the arms around, and it recalled them back again very easily. What else? It was quick to respond, but it liked to back away. Ok... Her thought trailed off as she skidded to a halt in front of the large mechanical virus. Why were they so much bigger up close? With a small catch in her breath, Lyntael darted to the side of it, her strikers crackling despite her best efforts, and tried to work around to the back of the virus instead. A pulse of electricity scattered from her body, but she let it go. Instead she focused on the central body of the virus, sweeping up and out with one arm in a feint to draw whatever attention she'd gathered from it, and then slid in close, pressing her other hand tot he round rolled and letting her charge flow.

It was a more controlled burst, drawing in evenly to her core and passing out from her extended palm, but even though she held back the raw strength of the charge, and tried not to over-extend herself, she sought to spread the pulse through its shell and break into the more vulnerable pieces of the virus underneath. If she could understand how it was put together, it might make taking it apart easier, but for now she jumped back a few paces, looking up at the virus to see if she'd had any effect. A light hum from her chest announced the pulse of her barrier expanding out again. She hadn't meant to, exactly, but the cautious set of her mind after her strike, while she was fending off her other excesses, seemed to drag it out of her, just in case.

The battle began by swelling the group with healing energy. Lyntael hesitated, her electrical energy charging, and watched as Lynternalis was catapulted across the field by the high gear shifting of the rocket dog. Rocket dog then headed for the sky. The Bluegon breathed its frosty breath at Sparky as he began to climb. Even with the huge evasion boost, the Bluegon's breath hit. The Ironshield A's top-facing twin mortars then lit up, launching a barrage of rounds into the air, before falling on Aurora and Lyntael. Unfortunately for the Ironshield, none of the explosions hit as the two women dodged around those shells that got close to them. Aurora retaliated with a underground explosion of water. The powerful wall of water that rushed out from below lifted both Ironshields off the ground and had them crash into the ground, shattered and broken.

The Octon creates a large balloon, with angry eyes, that floats towards Lyntael. Lyntael doesn't wait for the balloon to come to her, running around the perimeter of the battlefield to go after the Ashuraid. Aurora and Sparky continue their evasive stances while Lynternalis damages himself to attack the Octon that is targeting Lyntael. Unfortunately the attack misses, though the heavy Slipstream wind generated by the movement does hit, damaging the Octon.

Lyntael starts putting up some Turbulence as she evades around the Ashuraid, who still hadn't reacted yet to the invasion of its personal space. The Whirly begins spinning around the battlefield in a wide, boomerang-shaped arc. It strikes Lynternalis for some aquatic damage, though the golden slime barely budges against the attack. Aurora goes after the Whirly and launches an electrical attack against it. The Whirly is deleted as Aurora's attack hits. The Lunaroid evasively orbits the Solarite, as the Solarite launches solar energy at Aurora, Sparky, and Lyntael. All three strike true, but Lyntael's Turbulence reflects the attack, right into the Ashuraid. The HardCase around the Ashuraid halves the damage from the attack, but it is not happy to be struck by its "ally's" attack. The Solarite heals some of the damage it inflicted on Aurora, Sparky, and the Ashuraid. However, it was already at full, and didn't have the nice Overheal effect that Lynternalis had. Lynternalis rounds the battlefield and causes the Slipstream to explode behind the FortFighter, damaging its shield as well.

Lyntael follows up the reflected attack by punching it with an electrically-strengthend fist, that also explodes out more electricity. Both sets of attacks hit the Ashuraid, who shrugs off most of the damage due to its HardCase. One would have to break it down in order to cause more significant damage. Lynternalis then shows up to run around the Ashuraid. Unfortunately, the Slipstream created is close enough to affect Lyntael as well. The Slipstream batters both the Ashuraid and Lyntael, causing slight damage the Ashuraid, and full damage to Lyntael. The Ashuraid decides that now is the time to strike and sends three of its six arms to punch the heck out of Lynternalis and Lyntael. Two go to Lyntael while one goes to Lynternalis. All three hit, but cause minimal damage.

Lyntael continues to shock the Ashuraid. This time she manages to put more effort into it and shatters the HardCase, causing much more significant damage. The Ashuraid, however, was not even blown back from the gusting winds that flowed from the attack. It was also still some distance away from the snow and not getting any closer. Lynternalis continued the marathon around the track and ran around the Lunaroid and Solarite. Even the evasive Lunaroid was struck with its Solarite brother, taking some damage from the Slipstream in the navi's wake. Unfortunately, running onto cracked terrain caused Lynternalis to fall into a hole. The Lunaroid and Solarite tipped to look down into the hole for a moment, before continuing to float there. Lyntael puts up an electrical barrier as Lynternalis jumps out of the hole riding on a current of wind to land on top of Sparky. The Lunaroid and Solarite, who were moments above him, get swept up into the funnel and end up in High Altitude with the navi and his pet rocket dog. The FortFighter, not to be forgotten, throws a snowball at Aurora. The snowball, however, misses.

Lyntael finally feels the Off-Target1 effect she inflicted upon herself (having not actually suffered the effects yet). She will be more inaccurate in her next set of actions.

-- Viruses --
FortFighterFortFighter (FortFighter)

A short little humanoid virus no more than 2 feet tall, the FortFighter uses it stature to its advantage in its combat style of choice: snowball fighting. Being able to endlessly produce snow forts and snowballs, FortFighter will harass you endlessly with below-freezing balls of pain. Its body is outfitted in miniaturized winter gear, including a snow cap, winter coat, and snowshoes. Its only exposure comes from its head, which is just a grey sphere with two big eyes on it. Its hands, which only have 3 fingers each, are a bit disproportionately large compared to the rest of its body. The difference between the virus levels is the outfit: FortFighter is green, FortWarrior is blue, and FortChampion is red.

Area: Sharo

HP: 50
Attack Damage/Effect: 15 Aqua
Attack Accuracy: C
Attack Description: Throws a snowball.
Element: Aqua
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): SnowFort1, Zenny
Special: SnowFort: Creates a 1-hit AquaBody shield at the beginning of each turn. Becomes a 2-hit AquaBody shield on Ice and Snow terrain. While considered Aqua element, the shield is negated and pierced by Fire instead of Elec, and will auto-fail on Fire elemental terrain. The shield spawns on the field like an object, and remains in place until destroyed. It cannot be equipped.
Special: If there is already a shield in place at the beginning of a turn, this virus will make a new shield. It cannot simply refresh an existing shield to maximum strength.
Special: This virus has Haste (+10%) when unshielded.
Special: Immobile when shielded.

OctonOcton (Octon)

Octon are fairly large viruses, but instead of using that bulk for direct attacks, they contain a huge amount of elemental energy. They utilize this by forming balloons from their mouth capable of absorbing their chosen element. This does use up a lot of energy, so no more than one balloon per virus can be active at any one time. The balloon itself has an odd homing property, in that as long as it's within sight, it will always try to remain between its creator and the target.

Area: Sharo

HP: 120
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 50 Aqua + (Damage Absorbed) + Blast 3
Primary Attack Accuracy: A
Primary Attack Description: Creates a large balloon with angry eyes that floats toward an opponent. When it hits something, it explodes. It will reach its target the turn after it is created.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: Wind Type + Knockback
Secondary Attack Accuracy: A
Secondary Attack Description: If its own balloon is blown back at it, the virus can blow on it to move it back towards its originally intended target.
Element: Aqua
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): AquaBalloon, Zenny
- Special: Immobile.
- Special: The balloon is treated as an Aqua element object with infinite HP, and the Light, OmniShoes, and AquaBody properties. If hit by an Elec elemental attack, it is instantly destroyed regardless of damage with no explosion. If hit by a non-Aqua attack with Impact or Slashing, the balloon instantly explodes, but the triggering attack's damage is not added.
- Special: Damage Absorbed: All damage the balloon takes is added to its attack damage.
- Special: While active, the balloon has a 50% chance of blocking any long ranged attack directed at the Octon that created it, regardless of whether it would have hit or not. Melee attacks are unaffected.
- Special: This virus will ONLY use its secondary attack on a balloon that has been redirected back at it.

AshuraidAshuraid (Ashuraid)

The Ashuraid are a new strain of 6 foot tall semi-humanoid viruses with bodies made of durable metal alloys. Ashuraid viruses lack legs, and instead roll around on a 1 ton solid steel ball 1-foot in diameter that rests in a cupola. Rising from the top of the cupola is an alloy pillar that supports their smooth and curving metal bodies. The key defining feature of Ashuraid viruses are their half dozen free-floating arm segments constructed of an indestructible alloy. Three of these arms feature metallic rights hands, and the other three feature metallic left hands, thus they are differentiated. In combat, the virus will ball these hands up into fists, and launch volleys of rocket punches at their foes. The virus' helmeted head rests upon a short metallic rod-like neck with their faces hidden behind a metallic faceplate. The exception being their mouths, which are generally curved downwards in a permanent frown while in the presence of Navigators. It is speculated that Ashuraid are a hacked derivative of the Bladia viruses spliced together with fragments of other viruses and a healthy dose of battlechip program data. This would account for their size, strength, and malicious nature. Where and how this was possibly accomplished is unknown. Ashuraid viruses move and dodge at better than average speeds, although they rarely choose to dodge at all. Ashuraid viruses are ranged attackers, and prefer to hold the range open against their enemies as melee range attacks with their Impacting abilities generally render Counters useless. Ashuraids attack by launching their six free-floating indestructible alloy arms at one or more enemies in volleys of 3 rocket punches. It takes 3 arms to execute a MeteorKnucke attack, 3 to execute a Counter attack, and all 6 to execute their GiantHook attack. It takes roughly an action of cooldowm time after executing a long distance attack for the arms used in the attack to return to the Ashuraid's side. During this time, they may not execute a Counter Attack if they do not have enough arms available. Ergo if all 6 arms are either being used in an attack, or in cool-down following an attack or counter attack, the Ashuraid cannot use a Counter. The rest of their attacks do not require their arms to return to their side. The return feature is automatic, and does not require actions to perform. Ashuraid can move while attacking or defending, and are allowed to counter while dodging if enough arms are available. Setting a counter requires an action while executing one does not. Ashuraid are extremely heavy viruses that will sink like the lead weights they are in liquid, and they know it. They will avoid liquid terrain entirely, if possible, and will never appear near these types of naturally occurring terrain for this reason. Only an Ashuraid's body is damageable. Striking an Ashuraid's floating arms will not damage the virus or the arms themselves, no matter what you hit them with. The Ashuraids will not intentionally defend themselves with their arms outside of their Counter ability, which is nullified by Impact. Do not abuse this.

Area: Sharo, NAXA

HP: 100
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 5 Null + Impact + Break x 3 Fists
Primary Attack Accuracy: B
Primary Attack Description: Launches three rocket fists at distant opponents. Each fist may target individually, meaning multi-hit and/or multi-target both work up to a max of 3 punches.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: Counter vs Damage: 5 Null + Impact + Break x 2 Hits
Secondary Attack Accuracy: S (Block) / B (Counter)
Secondary Attack Description: Uses a trio of fists to block a non-Impact attack while executing a double punch counterstrike. Only two Counters may be active at any given time, and the virus must be physically able to execute a counter in order to use one. Counters work at any range. An action is required to set this effect, but no actions are required to execute the Counter when triggered, as it is automatic. Impact attacks nullify this Counter ability.
Tertiary Attack Damage/Effect: 5 Null + Impact + Break + LifeSword Range x 2 Attacks
Tertiary Attack Accuracy: B
Tertiary Attack Description: Sweeps the field with a salvo of flying fists from the left, and then the right. Does not damage friendlies, and may be executed at any range. The virus cannot use Counters while executing this attack.

As he soared up into the skies, Eternalis could feel the load balancer for his recovery processes shift its priorities, fueling a large amount of his healing into Sparky instead. He then mounted the hoverboard-form Support Program, and crouched down to pat it on the body of the board itself. Sparky's head tilted back to look at him, whimpering slightly. "I-It's okay, Sparky, let's do our best. I-I'm going to launch off again, okay?" he said rather timidly, with the pup licking at his hand in reply. The constant electrical discharge didn't seem to die down at all, and it was starting up again. Earlier on, he had suddenly transformed into the diminutive Soul Cross form without thinking, finding that it also came with a host of psychological and physiological changes, chief among which that he was now a lot more reserved in his speech than usual, and the previously demonstrated involuntary electrical discharge.

As a result, he had asked Sparky to catapult him out into the field to try and vent it into something more productive, namely bringing down a few viruses. The results were decently promising; his native offensive capabilities were only a small simulation of what Lyntael normally did, but they were good enough to deal a decent amount of damage before he leapt back up into the air. Unwittingly, he had also brought two of the viruses up with him in the wake of his high jump, which apparently created a sort of wind tunnel. Those two viruses were what he kept in his sights as he kept himself low on the board.

"Okay, h-here we go!" he said, his hands shaking for some reason, but his expression stayed firm with resolve. The sparks began to arc off of his now-luminescent golden body as he suddenly kicked off, feeling the wind wrap around his body in tandem. Passing by the double team of the Lunaroid and the Solarite, the electrical discharge began to crackle audibly now as he rocketed down towards the ground, slamming into the ice with a wet-sounding splat of his slime body. With the Cross, the movement of his body felt unrestrained and light, as if all he could do now was run forward, and not look back, which was exactly what he did, as he recovered from the fall almost frighteningly easily, encircling the FortFighter with reckless abandon.

However, as he moved to repeat his earlier action, he felt a sudden impact strike him in his chest, causing him to fall over. "Oof!" he exclaimed, skidding across the ground as he looked up at his chest to see an overeager pup, now firmly nestled in the middle of his--rather meagre, for his new appearance--chest. "H-Hey! Stop it!" he said, as Sparky proceeded to excitedly attack him with licks, unheeding of his master's plea. Something strange happened as Sparky did so, however--he noticed that the previous electrical storm around his body had subsided. Looking down at the pup in his arms, he saw the electrical current flow back and forth between him and Sparky in visible arcs, and the pup seemed to be thoroughly unaffected by it.

"W-Wow, that's something..." he said, looking up to survey the remainder of the battlefield to see how the others were doing, as well as to keep an eye out for incoming attacks to move away from.

---

Aurora seemed to be doing fine for the most part, sustaining some kind of energy attack from the Solarite. The Ashuraid's fists swung about around the battlefield with a few of its arms, impacting both Eternalis and Lyntael. Her focus silently shifted over to the Ashuraid, who was currently looming over Lyntael. As much as she wanted to let Lyntael fight her own battles, her instincts caused her to fire off one of her energy bullets at the statue-like virus anyway before she could think about it. In her periphery, she kept the Bluegon in her sights, though for the moment, the damage she had sustained was absorbed by Eternalis's recovery process.

"Lyn! The Bluegon's all yours!" she yelled out, delegating the strongest virus in the field to the one who had been consistently dealing with them.

Her prioritization then shifted to the next high-priority target, which was the Octon in a small corner of the battlefield. She had heard of its capabilities before, which was to eject a balloon that would absorb attacks as it went, exploding with high impact soon after. A silent chip request was sent to Harke as she fired off an energy burst towards the octopus virus as well, with the request being fulfilled quite promptly. The tip of her index finger pointed out at the Octon crackled with the arrival of the chip data, and she cradled her firing hand with her other to stabilize it. Quickly starting its activation, the air around her whined with static as a series of eight electrical bursts then shot out towards the viruses left, which would hopefully be able to execute them with relative ease.

Most of her view was filled by Ashuraid while Lyntael tried to deal with the target furthest away from where she might hurt her friends, so it caught her by surprise when the rapid-moving bright figure of Eternalis darted up and away again, creating a roar of wind force that made her stagger back and gasp, bracing herself again it with a wince and hunched shoulders. A moment after, the fists of the Ashuraid took the opportunity crated to thump the girl soundly across one shoulder and it turned her about, stumbling an extra step to catch herself. Her barrier had sprung out a moment later, not quite quick enough, and she could feel the tingling sensation of it in her extremities.

She had been trying to deal with the mechanical menace of a thing, and she was sure it was breaking, bit by bit, but her eyes caught a glance of Aurora not too far off, taking aim at the machine virus from the far side, pointing at its back while it drew back from the swinging mass of fists it had been a moment ago, and her ears finally took in what her friend had called out to her.

She re-took her stance properly, righting her balance and tried to get a better look at the field. Sparks jumped in her hair while her breath misted the air in front of her. Small aches faded quickly under the steady flow of energy that she could still feel Eternalis sending her and she took a longer breath to look across to the dragon virus. One more; then they would get out of the snow, that was what Aurora had said. Just one more. The virus in question wasn't too far away, terrorising the snows with its breath and its roars, and Lyntael darted past the Asuriad as Aurora took her shot at it. She didn't trust herself to call out an actual answer for now nodded without knowing if Aurora could see, and then focused instead; if she could avoid crossing over the unstable ground around where it had broken through, that would be better... if she could just rely on getting this right without it burning enough to drive her to tears.

Lyntael focused and set her stance, drawing power and letting it build while she kept her attention locked on the monster in front of her. She had to build until she couldn't hold any more, then remember how the flow felt, then aim and bring her wrist strikers together; that was how it worked each time... She went through the motion with care, letting her charge rise until it was a burning pressure beneath her skin, then thrust her hands outward and pressed her wrists together. She tried to force the energy to flow the way she wanted, but it writhed inside her, blocked. She pressed harder until a sudden pain in her ankles recoiled up to a jolt of sharp agony across her chest. The girl gasped aloud, her hands dropping as one mitten pressed against her chest and she gasped for air. A second pained gasp followed the first as the sensation lingered a little longer past when she stopped trying to force it. It just wasn't going to work like that, and she still didn't really understand why. The charge still circled in her body, pressing for freedom and release on its own terms, but she had nothing to vent the energy on, unless she got far closer to the dragon virus than she wanted to, again.

There wasn't anything else for it though; Aurora was still laying about herself with what looked like a flurry of electrical shots that Lyntael herself was sure she could never manage, and the small girl that Eternalis had become was... well, she was being aggressive in some manner, it seemed... and this time aurora had actually given her a task to contribute with, so, cold numbness in her extremities or not, she was going to do it. She ran towards the gap in the ground where her target waited, trying as much to focus on her breathing and keep her heart rate steady as she was assessing the ground as it came more and more damaged the closer to it that she got. She paused for a moment on the edge to the worst cracking, looked up at the dragon virus and lined up. What she was thinking of as longer, slow breaths were actually fairly short and quick by any normal standards, the combination of her fear being in these kinds of situations, coupled with the freezing cold rendering he short of breath. Lyntael didn't notice it much as she lined up, backed up a step or two, then took the last few steps running as she jumped, aiming to cross over the worst of the cracking without touching it.

As she crossed past the Bluegon, the motion that came from her left foot leaving the ground let her twist her body through the jump, bringing her other heel around and out on the way through. This time the energy flowed, lacing inwards to combine and then rushing out in a brilliant flash of crackling lightening as her striker passed the point where she'd aimed to impact. Her body, at least, knew what it was doing with the balance of the movement, and as she came down on the far side her booted toes touched and she tumbled forward as lightly as she could, each hand touching down a little after the other to try to catch herself in a stable manner and, if she stuck it properly, carry her off the risky terrain completely.

Regardless of how she landed, Lyntael felt the drain one her body as the energy poured out, and a familiar pulse of fall-off sparks scattered from her as the cycle started to rebuild. She embraced the balancing response, fairly sure that she wasn't near anyone, and focused for an extra second or two on preventing the natural reaction from releasing so much charge form getting away from her. she looked up, and then around quickly to try to locate her friends and see what dangers still remained.

More Lynternalis healing energies work their magic on Sparky, Lyntael, and Aurora. The three become very healthy again, as if the licks they took under the barrage of viral attacks didn't happen. Lynternalis landed on Sparky as the rocket dog was evading in the air. Lyntael dodged out past the Ashuraid as Aurora blasted it from across the field with an elecrtric blast. The bolt hit the Ashuraid and cut it in half, deleting it. Unfortunately, the balloon, spat out by the Octon, finally caught up to Lyntael and detonated on the navi's barrier. Thankfully, besides the barrier absorbing the blast in its entirety, there was no one else in the huge blast to take the hit besides Lyntael.

The Solarite, having attacked, began orbiting the Lunaroid quickly in a weaving and dancing motion. It was very evasive as the Lunaroid attacked. It angled toward the two flying navis and blasted out a lunar energy laser at Lynternalis. The beam went wide, missing the duo, just before Lynternalis kicked off Sparky and went directly towards the two flying viruses. The Solarite dodged the Slipstream that flowed around the navi as he passed, leaving the Lunaroid to take the brunt of the blow. Aurora blasted the Octon with another such attack. Without the balloon to protect the virus, it took the electric attack head on, deleting it in a shower of sparks. The FortFighter, having replenished its shielding, threw a snowball at Aurora. However, it was not meant for the big leagues of baseball, as it once again misses. Lyntael stares down the Bluegon for her next attack.

The Bluegon sees that as a challenge and breathes icy cold breath all over Lyntael's location. Thankfully, Lyntael still had her barrier which absorbed the damage before going down. Lyntael charges energy as she is struck, energizing her further. Aurora activates a powerful ClusterShot chip and begins pelting the enemy with swarms of electric motes. Two strike the Solarite, two strike the Lunaroid, and nothing hits the FortFighter. The Lunaroid falls down from the sky as it disintegrates. The Solarite stops rotating around the fallen Lunaroid, belting out a wail of sadness as its friend was deleted. Lynternalis follows the falling dead Lunaroid from the sky, aimed towards the FortFighter. He ends up striking the ice at high speed and deleting the FortFighter with a cascade of winds. He also takes heavy damage from the fall. Sparky rockets after him, worried about the fall.

Lynternalis tries to calm Sparky down with reassuring pats on the head as Lyntael moves toward the Bluegon's domain, ready to face the evil dragon down.

Lynternalis went defensive as Lyntael carefully made her way onto the cracked terrain. She then jumped across, trying to get a kick out at the Bluegon as she crossed its path. She struck the Bluegon with a crackling bolt that leapt from her foot. The dragon cried out in pain before tumbling backwards and smashing into the cracked terrain around it. As Lyntael landed on the opposite side, she rolled into an explosion of energy... right next to Lynternalis and Sparky. Thankfully, they both managed to dodge out of the way.

Lyntael felt most of the charge slip away then, including the haziness of her vision.

Balloon: DETONATED!
With the battle mostly cleared of viruses, Aurora set her eyes on the last remaining straggler on the field, and pointed her finger gun at it. Using her thumb as a sight of sorts, her arms lit up with electrical activity, and the tip of her finger crackled with little arcs of golden light. Then, the sound of a thunderclap echoed through the vast Sharoan valleys as a shot was released. The charge released itself again and again, for a total of three times, before Aurora was relatively sure of her kill.

She breathed out slightly as she lowered her hand, a wisp of ionized air from the tip of her index finger stinging her nose as she did. She glanced over to the other side of the large hole, where most of the people were gathered, and brushed off the snow from herself before she made her way over.

"Whoa!" exclaimed Eternalis, as he leapt back from the walking electrical storm that was Lyntael, who had just rolled into a landing near him. Sparky barked repeatedly and struggled out of Eternalis's grasp, who couldn't keep his previous hold on the pup, now that he was much smaller. "S-Sparky, hey!" he blurted out, as the pup hopped over to Lyntael, and gave her a tentative lick. "!!!" Eternalis appeared somewhat bewildered, reaching out as if to stop the pup, but at the same time also reluctantly keeping his distance.

The healing process was still active, and he was still providing restorative energy to her as well as Sparky. Hugging his own smaller body slightly with one arm and reluctantly reaching out with the other, he seemed to attempt a word or two, but they simply got stuck halfway through, and he ended up not saying anything, only extending his hand out with a worried expression on his face.

Lyntael's mindset was broken out of focus on the melee and trying to concentrate on looking after herself as the balloon filled with frigid water burst over her, and drenched the girl in enough water to leave her dripping and pooling, hardening the snow about her feet. Anyone watching in the moment would have seen the slight data shimmer as it cascaded over and through her barrier, robbed of its harmful, integrity corrupting data, even though the defence didn't stop the water itself from drenching her. It was accompanied by a sharp, painful gasp as she tried to breath in more than her lungs could hold. The natural body response to the sudden shock was making her breath deep and fast, and she could feel the movement of her heart in he chest, but a moment later the icy water was followed by as blast of icy breath from the Bluegon, rolling over her and practically freezing moisture in her clothes.

She wasn't entirely sure how she carried through the rest of her movements; the wild burst of electricity seemed distant and muted underneath the layers of freezing ice that felt like they were slowing her mind and her limbs. Her heart was beating so hard in her chest, pounding furiously, and her chest hurt as she tried to breathe; rapid panting of long, full-lunged breaths should have been helping, but it didn't feel like she was getting any air. Her whole body shook and trembled as she tried to hug herself and search in vain for some wisp of warmth; There was another brief pulse of energy around her, but it didn't do much; her charge wasn't really warm in the proper, thermal sense, and she mostly ended up hunched over and curled up, gasping unevenly for air as she shuddered. there were a couple of voices around her, but they were slow to process.

Her charge was something of a struggling flicker in her core right now, and when she looked up, frost on her features and blue-tinged lips, it was to find Sparky, only barely restrained by the small, gold-coloured girl. At this point, the pup as more likely to get his tongue stuck to Lyntael, than to get a shock from her, but she didn't have the wherewithal to flinch back like she normally might of. Instead, she tried to glance around, saw Auarora comfortably handling the last hostiles on the field, and then back to the strangely hesitant goo-girl. When she tried to speak, it came out as a series of broken stutters and stammers, her voice hampered by the cold. Each word was preceded by a number of false starts, but she got there bit by bit, intermittently attempting to rub and hug at herself.

"H-hi.... I'm ok... I think... Just... hahh, just very cold..." She had to close her eyes for a moment as the frost stung them and they didn't want to stay moist. When she opened them again, she did her best to try a smile, though it was plainly forced through gasps for air and shivers. "Are... are you still... Eternalis... or, ah... what... what should I call you? You look so cute!! I didn't know you could change like this!! Hahh... that's amazing!" she paused, looking about for aurora again to see if the other woman was coming back to group up with them yet, then focused again.

"Hey... I-is this like... like, ah, a cross thing? What does it feel like...? I... I hope the, um... the electricity isn't uncomfortable for you..." at that point, another breeze passed through and Lyntael shuddered harder, hunching over o herself and clearly struggling with the cold now. She was tyring to fight it off while there was something exciting to deal with, but she could barely feel her extremities at all right now, mittens and boots or not, and the inner layers of her clothing were all soaked through and practically freezing solid to her body. they could probably save the rest of the examination of new discoveries until they were out of the cold, hopefully.

Overcharge: Begin: +2, Manifest Spirit -1, Situational: Cold-shock is flat-lining her charge -1, End: 0

Lynternalis healed up the group even more while Aurora blasted the orphaned Solarite out of the sky, until it was a pile of sunny-looking scrap heap on the ground.

Oh, and Lyntael began freezing to death. A lot. Also she shocked Lynternalis and Sparky, who were not evading anything. Thankfully the healing cancelled it out.

Element: Null
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): MeteorKnuckle1, Counter1, Zenny
Special: SuperArmor: Immunity to Knockback, Microburst, Pull, Gravity, and similar effects.
Special: HardCase: Damage is reduced by half until hit with a Break attack, at which time this effect is nullified and they take standard damage. Break does not deal extra damage.

"U-Um... thanks, but... y-you kind of look a bit... um," stammered Eternalis, who was currently hesitant to come nearer to Lyntael. "Sorry, I can't really help you with the cold. But um, we should probably get going soon." His eyes darted over to Aurora, who was walking over to them painfully slowly. However, he saw his partner stop briefly, before breaking into a slightly faster jog. Perhaps she had seen Lyntael's condition. He exhaled slightly in relief, before he turned back to the one in front of him, and hazarded getting a little closer to kneel in front of Lyntael.

"No, it's not uncomfortable, but... I feel like my heart is--a bit faster? I guess you can't really see it, though," he said, putting up a hand to his chest, where a few sparks were dancing around inside his translucent body. He reached out towards Lyntael with a hand, as if to offer her one again. "But you can call me Eternalis still... I haven't changed that much." He thought--perhaps Lyntael was scared of his previous form, but now maybe he could persuade her to accept his help.

"Sparky, back up, boy!"

A sudden nearby voice made him suddenly retract his hand with a startled girly yelp. Sparky, who had been huddled in between Lyntael and Eternalis, barked in compliance and rushed over to Aurora, the source of the voice. The pup leapt up to her and nestled itself in her arms as she walked up. Eternalis's face turned into a sulk, complete with puffed-up cheeks. "Um, am I interrupting something?" said Aurora with an awkward grin.

"No," spat out Eternalis, with an almost childlike tone, turning his head away from Aurora.

"Ah, well, alright," she said, unsure how to deal with the sudden personality shift brought on by the Cross. She resorted to shifting her focus to Lyntael, who was clearly struggling now. "You look like you've seen better days... Can you get up? The transfer area is just over there. You can help her up, Eternalis," said Aurora. Eternalis suddenly turned with a sparkle in his eyes, and then to Lyntael. The sudden bright shift in expression quickly mellowed, however, as he hesitantly reached out once again.
((Confirming auto-transfer: 25 Frags <=> 1100 Zenny))

At some point, Lyntael's automatic attempts to retain some of her failing warmth had seen her sink as far as her knees while she huddled. She only noticed this when her eyes fixed on Eternalis, and the way the small girl was kneeling in front of her, trying to answer her questions and help at the same time. She tried to nod in acknowledgement of the answers, but it was a little hard to see under her trembles. There was a thought in her mind that was telling her that the fading sensation in her limbs was a symptom she needed to address, regardless of whether it was a relief from the chill or not, but her thoughts were beginning to meander away to other more interesting matters and she wondered about whether the new form that Eternalis was in was because of her. The thought that followed that was was that if it was, then she... he... would probably feel a lot like her as well. The expression on the other girl's face seemed worried and uncertain and Lyntael thought about herself for a moment instead, and what she would like.

Moving her arms proved to be far more difficult that she'd expected; they didn't want to come unwrapped from around her middle, and the shift, when it happened felt clumsy and uncoordinated. It took an extra moment, but she ended up leaning more of her body into what she was doing, and roughly put her arms about the other girl, leaning across to give her a clumsy hug that swiftly became tighter and more secure. Eternalis would be able to feel the entirety of the girls body shaking, and possibly the rapid tattoo of her hear as she struggled to breath properly through the cold. Lyntael was also speaking, though it came out in stuttered half-mumbles that didn't sound quite as focused or together as her previous comments; they didn't seem entirely to relate to Eternalis either, or at least only part way.

"It's alright... don't worry, ok? No-one here wants to hurt you, and you don't need to hurt anyone else. Don't worry, you won't hurt me... We're friends, and I'll still write you if we can't see each other later." She rested her head against Eternalis' neck, nuzzling slightly as she continued to mumble. The stuttering was gradually fading, and the tremors were subsiding as well, but her body didn't feel any warmer — if anything, she felt increasingly close frigid Sharo room-temperature. Her mittens patted slightly. "Everything'll be alright, so don't worry. Lots of people care about you... 's jus' some aren't good at showing it, but it's okay, 'cause it's true."

By the time Lyntael was moving onto her third set of assurances, her voice was starting to sound sleepy and quiet, and it wasn't until Aurora asked a more pointed question directed at her that she gave a start, looking up and blinking a few times. Aurora would be able to see the delayed pace at which the girl worked through the question, in the searching of her eyes. Eventually, slowly, she nodded.

"How... how far? I'm not, um... I'm not good. Rogan's busy. I need to get out of this. Warm. But, not too fast. That would be bad, I think..." She tried to get her knees to work again, but it was a difficult task, and it was only with Eternalis helping her that she managed it. The words were slow and carefully put together. She still held tight to Eternalis as they started moving, resting some of her weight, small as that amount was. The tremors had stopped completely and her breathing sounded long and laboured, but moving seemed to help her stay coherent at least.

"Sorry... about this. Was doing alright, but... The balloon. It was all full of water, and..." Another thought butted in from the side in her mind, derailing the explanation. "I need to change. Get out of the frozen stuff. I need dry clothes. I... I have to go back for that. Can't go to a beach like this... Wait, wait..." She reached out to grab Aurora's hand to stop the other woman from walking, though she was still mostly leaning on Eternalis.

"Rogan's busy, and if I ask he'll know. I've got to change though. He'll get mad if he thinks I'm not doing... the thing." Articulating that bit was too difficult for a moment and she shook her head. "It'll only take a bit, I promise. Just hold on, okay?"

They'd just about reached the transit point that Aurora had been leading them to anyway, and Lyntael took a few seconds to focus as well as she could. There was almost no feeling beyond a dull sense of presence, anywhere beyond her torso, but after a few extra seconds she found what she was looking for an opened up the link emulation from her side, creating a path back to her PET. It wasn't a proper jack-out beam, especially without Rogan operating the PET on the other side. The light beam faltered and seemed less than completely stable, but even so, she was still holding onto her friends for their support as it crashed over her, then expanded to encompass the rest of them as well.

----------
((Lyntael returning (and accidentally bringing Eternalis and co. with her), to => Rogan's PET))
The act of Lyntael suddenly leaning into him startled Eternalis for a moment, before he heard the girl begin to whisper. His brow creased in confusion as he was unable to grasp the context of what she was murmuring. Perhaps she was talking to someone else through some kind of communication protocol? Or perhaps someone else was talking through her--it was certainly not out of the question. Most likely, however, was the possibility that she was simply delirious, and that worried him the most. As she perked up slightly with Aurora's question and her speech became coherent again, Eternalis was a little more hopeful about the situation, but from Lyntael's sluggish movements, his hopes weren't very high.

"We shouldn't be too far off," said Eternalis, though he had no evidence to present. Drawing the girl closer to himself, he could feel the weak beat of electrical current resonate against his own innate charge, while he helped her back up on her feet. As Lyntael clutched onto Aurora, Sparky took the chance to lick again at the freezing girl's fingers, with a small nuzzle of his nose to provide his own bit of concern. In addition, it was getting hard to comprehend what Lyntael was saying, with her voice trailing off into incoherent whispers at the end of her sentences; neither of them could even parse her last sentence. Before Aurora could ask her what she had said, or corroborate Eternalis's statement, however, a small beep alerted her to a small popup in her heads-up display.

"... Deprecated transfer protocol?" she murmured, reciting off of the small warning popup. Odd, they weren't at the transfer point yet, she thought. It took her a few moments before she noticed the flickering light beam that was enveloping them. "Wait, hold on--!" she blurted out, noticing too late what the light meant, before all of them disappeared in the light beam.
