Grand Unveiling!

The slinger had been dealt a bad hand; it seemed the Lady was intent on keeping every soul in the vicinity far from 21.

But Triggerman wasn't buying it. To hell with blackjack; he knew better then to gamble in Dame Fortune's casino.

The tendrils clutched him as tight as the devil making good on an overdue loan, working it's way around his neck like a death-smelling garrote. But he'd dangled on the end of the Lady's noose plenty before. It was an old liquor that became slightly more bearable with each sip, force fed until he had become so accustomed that he'd enjoyed it. This spirit was just the same.

The Western Wind brushed across Triggerman's finger tips, grazed his poncho to remind him of its perpetual presence. In the presence of the dry gale, Triggerman contemplated with a unperturbed countenance marking his shadowed features.

You can't hold dead men for very long.

And as the anecdote came to mind, Triggerman's physical embodiment faded away in the western's wind's suddenly violent effect. The tendrils were left to clutch at but poncho and hat, amidst a squall that incited an unearthly flapping of fabric.

Amidst the flow of the western wind, the wraith made an effort to slip between the night-painted tendrils, a sort of ethereal air warping the atmosphere about him.
The fabric tore against the tendrils in the effort, adding more wear to the already impressive collection of scars the garment bore. The poncho swam amidst the air as if an entity of the front itself, settling towards the ground with a distant authority.

Still a ghostly artifact in the western wind's command, Triggerman's semblance of a form flew across gently from the location of his captivity. Lady Luck was fickle enough; maybe she was turning the hand in his favor with a pitiful eye. She clutched her pair dice in her hands threateningly, two masters that would dictate the tide of events.

By Triggerman's command, the wind drove itself high, sending the ethereal entity skywards as it conducted the lone poncho and hat.

The Count began. Six.

From beneath the folds of the airborne poncho fabric, Triggerman's form abruptly emerged, .45 fully extended and hammer cocked.

In the short apex of his ascent, Triggerman gifted the heelnavi with an instance of shrapnel shot, each exploding from his barrel like hell driven chariots.

'Ayumi' was caught in the tendril's grasp, squirming and writhing about trying to break free. "L-Leon! What should I do!? I'm scared!"

"Woah, calm down Illumina. You obviously need to cut the tendrils to break free... although I'd rather people not know your true identity yet. I guess shit happens though. Change to your normal configuration, then use your lance to slice yourself and anyo-"

Just then, the familiar looking navi from earlier came and cut Illumina down with a rageclaw. She landed hard on her knees, letting out an audible whimper and wincing from the shock of the landing.

"T-thanks..." she said, partly from the pain she was in and partly from the selfless act had caught her by surprise. She pulled herself up off the ground, and rubbed her knees. She looked around at the other navis. Many of them seemed to be breaking free on their own, and only a few were still trapped. "Hey... I think we should help finish this guy off..."

"No chance in hell," Leon said flatly. "Ayumi fought someone with powers like this once... she was never the same afterwards. I don't want you end up the same way."

"Newsflash: I'm not her!" she retorted angrily.

"I'm well aware you aren't. But, she was also quite a bit stronger than you are now when she got defeated, so honestly, how do you think you'll fare? The enemy she faced wasn't this strong either. You'd be finished off in the blink of an eye. You're playing a support role. If you don't like it, too bad." Leon slotted in the rageclaw chip. "If you really want to be useful, go and break those other two navi's who were here earlier free so they don't have to waste their strength doing it."

"I hate you," she whispered angrily under her breath as she clenched her teeth. She activated the rageclaw and ran towards the two navis in the center who were still trapped. "Hold still, this will only take a second!"

She quickly ran past Soulman and the strange mankini navi he was helping, tossing them a quick nod and an oddly sexy wink as thanks as she did, and continued on to the other two. She quickly sliced through the tendrils on the first and moved on to the second. After taking a slice at the tendrils, she turned to them with anger in her eyes. "You had better finish this off, since the rest of us are too weak to help."

She then hopped behind the odd superhero looking navi. She looked out from around his body at the heelnavi. "What a melodramatic asshole. I could take him any day if Leon would just let me..."

She tensed her legs, preparing them to run or jump, depending on how the enemy reacted next.

"L-lets take care of the o-opponent first!" Aida called out as she downloaded a energybomb and a boomerang.

Capuchin quickly aimed at the opponent and thrusted both at him. Letting the bomb go first then the Boomberang to slice him up soon after.

Tenshi groaned out as the black tendrils wrapped all around him, his wings began being crushed inward as the great weight attempted to break them off. "Little help Gaeherris!!" Static greeted Tenshi as more feathers fell from his wings before Gaeherris's holo window appeared "Dammit Tenshi! Rageclaw chip in!"

Tenshi manipulated the net's data into a form of a sword before it transferred into a giant claw. "Damned darknavi's you guys make me sick!" Slicing at the tendril, Tenshi caused more wings to fall from his wings, more of them black than white ".....Even at the cost of my life! I'll TAKE YOU DOWN! Falling feathers!" The wings were stripped bare of all their feathers as blood splurted from the wings. The feathers began zooming at the heelnavi, an unnatural glow to them.

The beads of sweat coming from Tenshi couldn't hold the demented chuckle. "FEEL SORROW ENGULF YOU!!!" "Tenshi! Get a hold! shotgun chip i....." Static fell in the place of Gaeherris as waves of energy engulfed his sword. Slicing outward, he unleashed two waves before jumping backwards in case anything came at him. "I will kill you!!!"

"Tenshi you damned fool!..... That heelnavi's too strong... examining data.... darknavi? Dammit.... I'd need all my equipment to just go at equal strength...."

"So... the rumors were true..." the Speedo crusader, his sword bound to his side, growls through gritted teeth. "You mean... to spread the domain of the UnderNet by assimilating the NetSquare!"

"Really?" Dimensionman gasps, the strange energies around him tearing at the ropes of shadow--"What a dastardly idea! What an underhandeded manuever! Just what I expected from villans like--" He is immediately silenced by a resurgance in the tendrils, engulfing his head.

"Honestly, I told him about this beforehand too--" 'Mankini' struggles against his bonds again--

Meanwhile, the other Navis draw their own weaponry, cutting the tendrils off themselves and their allies. With a yelp, the leader of the Sexy Trio finds himself freed--and staring into a very familiar face. He was so shocked, that he completely blanked out on Soulman's diatribe, instead putting a finger on Soulman's forehead and pushing slightly, lighting up the face--a copy of his own--"What are you doing here, kid?" He flashed the Aquablade, before sighing and shaking his head. "I thought I taught you better than this..."

"B-brother?" Swing catches onto the word, as he watched his rescuerer retreat into the shadow. Duke... You're watching, aren't you? He regathered himself, as old emotions came rushing back--shuddering violently, Swing focused himself. Raising his blazing blade in the darkness, he shouted after Pianissimo and his former Net-Op: "Take care of him!" Who it was directed to--only Swing himself knew.

"--are dastardly, underhanded, and above all, evil!" Dimensionman continued screeching, as Illumina finally succeeded in liberating his head. She immediately regretted it, as the (over)zealous orange Navi continued with his tirade.

Without any real way to make him shut up, all she could do was contemplate his comical demise silently--

"You done yet?" Swing growls at his partner, trying to knock him out of the trance--"He's not going to wait for us to get ready, you know..."

"Just finished." Dimensionman replied cheerfully, pulling up a MarkCannon, he grinned--"Damsels, just stay put for now--Ladies? Ladies?!" He spun around, looking for his harem--but the DimensionGirls had long since departed. Tendrils just seemed too much like tentacles. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!"

The scream of dismay drew both Soulman and his mentor's attention, but their eyes both strayed to "Ayumi", who was still lost in her daydream, Dimensionman's agonized cry fitting right in. While Soulman stared entranced at Illumina's figure, her earlier wink still freshly imprinted in his mind, the Speedo-clad Navi was wide-eyed, as memories flooded back--

"You didn't..." He whispered in disbelief, his voice trembling with rage. "You ... you made a mockery of her..." A tear unwillingly streamed down his face, as he removed the GMO, reverting to very familiar form... "LEON!" screamed the Navi of leader of Requiem, body glowing as his true appearance slowly revealed itself, "You want her back that badly?! Don't you care about how that new Navi feels?! How I feel?!"

And thus did the original Soulman, leader of Requiem, finally cast off the NakedNinja.GMO, revealing a bodysuit very similar to his pupil. There were, however, a few marked differences... his bodysuit, instead of the royal purple that he had been known for, was a sapphire blue, golden lines crisscrossing it. His legendary bishounen hair, instead of the rich forest green that he was known for, was streaked with blond highlights--his face remained unchanged, but Soulman was very different from that fight, so long ago...

"Do you know, Leon?" Soulman Sr. continued to rage, lost in his emotions--A glimmer of golden light flashed near his right eye, and he recovered his composture. "I'll... deal with you later." Gesturing to Swing and Dimensionman, Soulman Sr. left Junior slumped in exhaustion, as the Trio dashed across the field, dodging the falling cascade of sharpened points--"Gamma formation!" Soulman roared, as Swing and Dimensionman nodded. Immediately, Swing and Soulman formed a boost, sending Dimensionman into the air as they leapt off again, approaching the HeelNavi from opposite sides.

As the HeelNavi raised a shield of shadowy tendrils before him, Soulman and Swing cut across, switching sides while leaving gashes where their weapons were, repeatedly lashing out as Dimensionman unleashed a barrage of bolts from above, peppering the HeelNavi with all he had--

"Is it over?" Swing wondered out loud, as the smoke became too dense for him to see--"Don't stop attacking! We have to--"

"Die." the voice came from between them, amused and sinister. "Wha--" Swing gasped out, before a massive dark blast sent him flying, tumbling through the air before smashing into the wall and falling into a slump, out cold. "SWING!!" Dimensionman screamed, running to his ally--before tripping over something--something soft...

"What the--" Dimensionman turned around, to look at what had... "oh... oh no..." He whispered, as he saw the wrecked remains of Soulman. Split apart, the handsome Navi's face was pale, his lower torso a couple feet away--Data was spilling everywhere, as Soulman's integrity deteriorated...

"You... you shielded him..." Dimensionman choked on the realization, as Soulman smiled grimly. "But now, but--"

"Enough." Soulman wheezed, as he was suddenly seized in a series of hacking shudders. "Take... Swing... and get out of here..."

"No! A Defender of Justice doesn't--doesn't leave his comrades on the field of battle!" Dimensionman fought back tears, as he put himself between the HeelNavi and Soulman--

"Listen to me!" Soulman's eyes were seized by a strange light, as he grabbed onto Dimensionman, pulling himself upright with a great effort. "You two can't hurt him--and I won't last much longer. Get Swing... and stay out of this..." He wheezed again, as he grabbed on to Dimensionman's shoulders, his piercing gaze penetrating the dark visor between them. "Promise me, as your leader..."

"I... I can't--" Dimensionman sobbed, before nodding. "Stay alive, sir..."

"Worry about yourself." Soulman commanded, as Dimensionman took off to Swing's body--"I'm sorry for what I put you two through..." He whispered, the words lost to all but himself...

Streams of data coiling out of his numerous wounds, Soulman stared at where the HeelNavi still stood, glaring at the shimmering barrier that still stood around the blackened monster... "A LifeAura... Haven't seen many of those." He winced as the HeelNavi's laughter hit him, the gutteral sound like a tidal wave--"You know of this legendary chip? Then you must know you have failed... Nothing short of 200 damage will even touch me in this!" The HeelNavi continued to taunt the dying Navi, before demanding... "Why... why the hell are you smiling?!"

Brushing a red stream from the corner of his grinning mouth, Soulman continued to stare the HeelNavi down, stabilizing himself against the wall he had landed against. "Only... 200?" He laughed out loud, as he continued. "I don't have that kind of power, it's true... But I can still take you down!" Before the HeelNavi could respond, Soulman plunged his arm into his own chest, dragging something from his core--I'm sorry, Ayumi... I can't keep your gift... I can't keep protecting them...

The blond faded from his hair, and the blue slowly changed back to purple...

In the center of his balled fist, Soulman gingerly released a glowing golden orb of data--"Forgive me... it's up to you..." He whispered, as his body, unable to handle the shock, ripped itself apart into a flood of blue data, a purple swirling orb all that was left--

Motes of lights flooded the NetSquare, rising up from the floor, from the fallen viruses, gently descending from above and swirling around the golden globe, forming a humanoid form, a female form... One of the fallen, long gone but not forgotten. Her eyes reopening for what had been years, Ayumi stared at the purple sphere that was all that's left of Soulman... "Why...?" She asked the silent orb, her eyes searching. Stepping forward, she hugged Soulman's essence to her, before turning back to the HeelNavi, Mjolnir at her side.

"He couldn't do it himself, so he calls a woman?!" The HeelNavi nearly collapses in laughter, the ridiculousness of the situation getting to him. A dark rumbling was all that answers him, and he scrambles to his feet, the aura crackling around him, to see--

Ayumi was twirling Mjolnir above her hand, bolts of energy raining down from the ceiling onto the giant hammer, coursing down her body--"What are you trying to do, bitch?!" He screamed, and fired a volley of shadowy bolts at the electric Navi--only to see them vaporize against the electric coils, not even connecting with Ayumi--

Within the maelstorm, Ayumi began to glow, a golden and silver form-fitting armor replacing the majority of the blue bodysuit that she normally donned. A mail skirt draped over her legs, silver wings spread from the edge of her helmet, and four sets of feathery plumage sprouted from her back--Her eyes aglow with golden light, Ayumi ended the revolutions, brandishing her weapon before her--with a loud crack, the stone head of Mjolnir blasted apart, revealing an elongated point. "Gungnir, the Swaying One." She declared, swishing the javelin before her... "Know this weapon well... because it will be the one that ends your life, miserable HeelNavi!"

"As if!" The HeelNavi rasped, sending a wave a shadow rolling at Ayumi--who merely sidestepped, raising her spear before her as she started her charge--"Get away!!" The HeelNavi snarled, summoning tendrils of shadow that arched around Ayumi, spiraling and coiling around her--"You're mine!" He laughed, as the shadows crashed down--

A point of the shadow began to brighten, before a sickening tear formed in the shadow--Ayumi erupted out of the prison, her wings fully extended as she took to skies, Gungnir aglow with energy. At the ceiling of the NetSquare, she changed direction, falling into a deep dive directly at the crackling aura, Gungnir held before her--

"S-STAY AWAY FROM ME!" the HeelNavi screamed, almost pleading as he threw up wall after wall of shadow, trying to slow Ayumi's descent--but Gungnir ripped through it like paper. The spearhead, gorged on energy, was now nearly as long as its handle, and still growing--

A crash. A shattering. An unholy scream of pain... and it all ended with a brilliant flash, dispelling the shadows and knocking the Navis off their feet. Ayumi took hands off Gungnir, the holy spear forever defiled by the corrupted data it had impaled... Tears sparkling in her eyes, she turned to the crowd of Navis, her eyes settling on Junior and... her copy...

With a deep shudder, the dark rip in space implodes upon itself, disappearing forever...

"Live... that's all we ask of you." Ayumi smiles sadly, as she waved. "Don't let our lives dictate yours..." She looked up, at the ceiling as if she could see someone. "Leon... let her be what she wants. Don't force her to be... something she's not..." A gust of wind, and Ayumi dissolved into a shower of golden light, fluttering upon the breeze...

And if anyone looked close enough, they could see motes of purple light among the gold...
"Wh-what the hell is this?" Wes looked at the battle in horror as half of his mentor's navi fell a few feet away from his own. He thought back to his master's chip inventory, "He needs that Recovery80 immediately! He can't fight like this!"

"N-no... he's already gone. What he's running on now is just borrowed strength." As the last bit of the navi's data fluttered through the air, Jr fell forward. He tried his best to hold back his tears. His hair fell in front of his face, covering his eyes from view. He didn't want to be seen like this. His view was shifted again, though, as a new navi appeared, this one a spector of the past. His mindset then reverted back to a time long past, to that of a child, "M-mommy? Wh-what's going on? What happened to daddy?"

Mommy? Wes analyzed the term in his head. So this was the navi the original Soulman had given his heart to. She was quite lovely, but closely resembled the navi they had met earlier. This was really odd, especially the infantile tone Jr had taken.

Jr watched, eyes wide in wonder, as the ghost obilerated the enemy. His expression then turned to alarm as she began to fade as well, "Don't go, mommy. I'll be all alone again." He finally broke down crying. His father was now dead, so he had no one left. She spoke a few last words of comfort before disappearing. Still sniffling, the younger Soulman nodded, "Okay, mommy, I'll be a good boy. I... love you, mom."

Wes watched as his friend stood up and now walked over to where his father had vanished... at least the top part of his. Jr stared down at the spot, no longer crying, but still wearing a frown full of regret and dispair, "You were a pervert and a buffoon. Both you and mom went after her in the Undernet. I waited patiently for you to to return, thinking that nothing would happen but... you were the only one who came back. Normally kids don't understand death, but as a navi, I had the definition of deletion programmed into me. You never told me the details, but I took the easy road and blamed you. It was your fault as simple as that. I didn't have anyone else to blame. I never saw the ones who did it. You made it easy enough for me to justify it this way. I bet you blamed yourself for her death as well, which is why you never said in your defense. I always knew that if given the choice, you would've switch fates with her, but I was too immature to accept that. I enjoyed my version of things better. Navis are supposed to computer programs that are able to think things through more rationally than humans, due to the calculating programs that make up our being, but we're just as stupid. In the end, all I ever did was resent you, but you loved me all the same. When a family should have been grieving together, I left you to mourn alone. I even added to your pain. I'm sorry I could never say this before, but... I love you, dad." Looking down, he noticed a familiar pair of shades. He stooped down, taking them in his hand, "So, one last momento, eh? I'll be sure she gets them." He looked over to the female navi's point of departure, "So, don't let you lives dictate ours, eh? You just want us to forget the past, not to follow the same path you two choose? Sorry, mom, but I'm not sure if I can follow that completely. I'll do my best to live, but I still think you two deserve to have a Requiem played. Wes, jack me out. I'm finished here."

"Okay, Soulman." Wes said.

"Let the name Soulman finally find rest. Just refer to me as Jr from now on." The navi requested.

"Okay. Jr, logging you out." the data then trickled out of the net square.
Chaos floated a few inches above the Net floor, watching as the strange warrior woman battled the DarkHeelNavi. It was a breathtaking sight as the female Navi, some sort of spirit formed from the remains of the Navi in the purple Speedo, shined in gold and silver armor. The female Navi dived down on wings of light to impale the HeelNavi, the dark creature's data being absorbed by the holy spear that the female Navi carried. The battle was over, the DarkHeelnavi destroyed and the female Navi fading away in a humbling display of power.

"A Life Aura?" Chaos whispered. "My vengeance has been foiled by an accursed Life Aura?"

"Well," Rayth reasoned. "Life Auras are powerful shields and incredibly rare. I doubt that anyone could gain one of those without years of adventuring in the UnderNet."

"Pfft, the Undernet is full of the weak. To think that I could be defeated by such a Navi. How does a lackey of the UnderNet gain the powers of a Life Aura while I am cursed to be trapped in this form..."

"What?" Rayth was confused by his Navi's words.

"Huh?"

"I asked what you meant."

"What I meant by what?"

"Er..." Now Rayth was very confused. "You said that you were trapped in that form."

"The hell? I said no such thing." Chaos shook his head aggressively. "I am feeling ill. Where did that HeelNavi go? I must finish what I have came here to do."

"What?"

"Where is the blasted HeelNavi you fool?!"

"He's...He was deleted."

"What? By who? Who has stolen my vengeance?"

"Er, weren't you paying attention? What is wrong with your memory."

"There is nothing wrong with me. The problem lies with you not telling me what I want to know."

"Fine," Rayth sighed, not sure what his Navi was up to. "That guy in the Speedo was cut down by the HeelNavi. Before he was deleted, he used a part of his data to summon some kind of warrior goddess."

"A Goddess?"

"Yeah, she was incredible. She used this spear and impaled the HeelNavi, ripping straight through his Life Aura."

"That fool had a Life Aura?"

"Er, yeah. Didn't you just...No nevermind. After the HeelNavi was deleted, the Goddess just disappeared after saying something to those Navi over there."

"What Navi?"

Rayth described SoulMan Jr. and the Navi known as Ayumi. Chaos knew them as the loverboy from the opening of this little adventure and the current object of his affections. Chaos had thought about using the duo in his games when he had first arrived at the party, but had changed his mind in favor of more interesting prey. Perhaps he had been too hasty.

Hmmm... Chaos' thoughts were jumbled. If they are related to Navi of such power, perhaps I should keep my eye on them. They could prove to be very interesting in the near future.

Chaos dropped down to the floor, looking over his rather plain appearance. NaviMan was far to plain for the likes of those two and his natural form would be ill advised. He would need another disguise if he wanted to slip into the lives of those two interesting Navi. He reminded himself to order Rayth to make a new GMO, and to scan the Net for possible design ideas. It would have to be something physically formidable. Something that would entice the girl and force respect from the man.

"Heh," Chaos laughed softly. "Things are about to become far more interesting.

Rayth could only agree as he wondered what Chaos was hiding. What had his Navi been talking about? Why was he trapped in his current form? What could it all mean?

"Ah well," Rayth sighed. "Let's figure out what the hell is going on and get going, shall we?"
Raiden had not been expecting this LifeAura, nor had he been anticipating the summoning of the divine female Navi. Instead, he had been firmly fixed on the hole that had been torn to some separate network. It was radiating some kind of dark signature that he really, really didn't like. He took an involuntary step back as the first wave of the network on the other side hit him, and at the same moment, the HeelNavi called up a LifeAura. He could feel almost every drop of energy being invisibly drained from the NetSquare to fuel the bright shield, and in its wake, the Undernet flooded in.

He hadn't realized that he had fallen over and landed on his back until he heard Anti yelling at him to get up. His fingers clawed slightly and a very dark grin passed across his face. Digging in his elbows, Raiden hopped back up to his feet, an entirely changed Navi. His physical appearance was the same, but now he was stooping slightly, and his eyes had widened in the madness that came with the grin.

"Raiden? What the hell is wrong with you?"

He cranked his neck up, still grinning, to stare into the digital sky. Anti's PET interpreted this as him looking slowly up toward the screen, and the Operator herself felt a distinct chill heading down her spinal region.

"Nothin'," he hissed like a gas leak, and then turned his eyes back to the festivities below.

There was an explosion of gold, and there was some kind of god with a truly massive spear in her hands. At the sight of it, Raiden screeched and fell back, shielding his head with his hands. The bright, pure signature that it was throwing off in massive blasts was clawing furiously at the darkness from the Undernet that had planted itself in the area for the moment. His grip on the dark signature and reality, it seemed, was being prised off by that damned spear.

Then she was gone to bring death to the HeelNavi. Instead of fading, though, the spear's light simply grew stronger. He hadn't told himself to, but he was running now, pushing past all the other Navis that had gathered in the Square, tripping over his own feet but jumping up again. The dark signature was in full retreat toward the portal that it had leaked through, and the NetSquare was cleaning itself out from the Undernet's touch, but the darkness was hanging on to him--a Navi who could feel it, take care of it, harness it for his own gains.

"DAMMIT, RAIDEN!"

And then it was gone.

He fell over again, totally out of breath, shivering mightily. He never, ever wanted to feel anything like that again. The place on the other side of the portal--the Undernet, that's what it had said it was called--was somewhere that he would never, ever go, even if the fate of the entire Internet rested on whether he ventured in or not. It was a sick, dark place, where nothing but viruses and the most corrupted of Navis belonged. Those who had business on the bright half of the Internet had no reason to go there.

"Raiden, are you going to explain, or what?!"

He lifted his head again as he summoned himself back to his feet, still quaking. "Y-yeah. A-anti, I'm........I'm a-all right. I-I'm f-fine."

He turned back towards the battle just in time to see the Navi with the spear rip through the two shields of bright light and shadow--when it cut through the LifeAura, he was unspeakably relieved to feel the proper energy filling the NetSquare again--and ultimately through the HeelNavi. Then there was a massive blast of sheer power, and he was thrown several net-yards through the air to land jarringly on the panels a distance away. On his side now, facing the portal, he saw it fall inward, accompanying the HeelNavi's demise. He summoned a shaky smile. At least that was over.

The summoned Navi said something to a few others, and then vanished entirely. Anti felt a thump in her gut, as if signifying that something massive had come to its end. She straightened her mouth into a very thin line and reached toward the jack-out button.

"Raiden, we're done here."

His eyes drifted lazily up. "What? But everyone else...shouldn't we help--"

"They're fine. We're leaving. I don't want to stick around here for another minute."

Raiden's body, still arranged like a rag doll after being thrown aside, burst into a storm of lightning and headed upward, disappearing into the darkness high above.
"Wh...What in the world was that?!!"

Alphonse stood there dumbstruck by the omnious phonemonon he witnessed, almost loosing his control over his leg, forcing him to fall down to the ground. "... ... ...I...", "Alphonse!! Get a hold of your self!!". swallowing his fear, he stood up, tidying his jacket and adjusting him gauntlet. "...I...*ahem*...Quite the view, wasn't is K", "Tell me about it...I've never seen such a thing in Netopia or anyother place!!".

Alphonse looked around stoildly over the scared navis, he sighed shortly and looked over the battle area. Pieces of glass like shards were everywhere, Alphonse suspected them of being the dragment of the lifeaura he saw being shattered by the female navi. Alphonse paused for a second, thinking about the female he just saw. Usually, he would've had some pleasant thoughts about any food female he saw, but his thoughts were pretty serious. ...That...Navi...She reminds me of...Maria".

Alphonse looked around for the available loots he could find, sending them straight to his PET. "Ready Alphonse?", "...Yea".

Leon was noticeably shaken by Soulman's anger. I... I'm sorry. You of all should know how bad I am I letting things go..."
"You two know each other!? What's going on here!" Illumina yelled at Leon. Boy did she hate being left in the dark.
"Yeah... we know each other... for over 7 years. But that isn't important right now, keep your head in the game or you might end up hurt."

Illumina watched as the trio launched the end-all attack against the Dark Heelnavi. She was about to cheer, when she suddenly heard the navi shout "DIE", and send Dimensionman flying. Then she turned back to where he had flown from.

She gagged, dropping her hammer and placing her hands over her mouth. "Oh... my god..."[/COLOR]
Leon jumped up off of his seat, almost throwing the PET into the distance as he did so. S-Soulman! No way! G-get up buddy... you're not gonna let something... like this...," Leon began to choke up. "G-goddamnit... you... you never change..."

As Soulman faded, a few tears fell for the death of his friend. He then thought of Wes, who would be even more upset than he, and more tears fell for his loss. And then the unimaginable happened.

Ayumi appeared.

Leon's jaw dropped, and he continued to cry. "They certaintly aren't making this easy..." he choked out. He watched as Ayumi used her ultimate ability, the one which had taken him three years to develop and perfect: Valkyrie Panic. He looked on as she fought against the Heelnavi, tearing through his attacks with what appeared to be ease. She finally reached him, with a large explosion... "What the hell!? An explosion!? She didn't..." But she did.

As Ayumi began to delete as well, she left behind a plea to Leon and words of wisdom for the male navi in front of them. "I'm sorry Ayumi... I'll do my best to let Illumina be her own person... and I'll do my best to protect your son. No, protect my grandchild."

A swarm of daisy petals whipped up around Illumina as she began to glow softly. Her colors change, and the hammer laying feet away from her changed to into her lance. "I'm glad I finally got to met you, Ayumi. I... I guess I know why Leon get so depressed sometimes now... you really are a beautiful person..." She paused for a moment to gather her thoughts. "I'll do my best to honor your memory... us electric breakers have to stick together. Good bye, and rest in peace..."

Leon fell back into his chair, openly upset and unwilling to move for the time being. Illumina kneeled on the netscape near where Ayumi and Soulman had last stood, and offered a prayer for their souls. She was also hoping that, should any traces of their souls still be there, she would be able to attract them and maybe even absorb their knowledge. Sadly, if she had somehow managed to pull it off, she certainly didn't feel it.

... A good time later...

"Well... I think it's about time we head out. No use staying in this place for now..." Leon said somewhat disappointed.
"Leon, I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough to help them..."
"Don't be. Soulman had been living heartbroken for years, and he knew the risks of what he was doing. At least he can be together with her again... Anyways, jack out. We've got a bit of shopping to do before we head home."
"Alright..." Illumina replied, as an unfelt wind created a vortex of daisy petals around her, settling to the ground as little lightning bolt, leaving no trace of Illumina behind.
Kobo, being overwhelmed by the intense sight, sat down as he watched. Suddenly there was a force of energy and he got knocked up on his back. When he opend his eyes, his little smile returned as now, Kobo returns to normal. He gets up and begins wandering aimlessly.

Soon he left the sight of anyone involved, however anyone who took a thought of him may still feel his presence, no doubt he still lurks.
Capuchin's eyes began to tear up. Her face was holding back a sob. Her fists shake as she turns her head away from where Sr used to stand.

"D-dammit!" She immediatley slams her fists into the floor, "Soulman......you were....my leader...."

Her head went back to all that she went through with him. The good, bad, everything. The battles they fought, the missions they did, even the times they just chatted.

"How could someone like you perish like this...just like......GRAAAAAAAAAH!" She immdiatley slammed her fists into the floor again. "D-damn it all! Damn you Ayumi! Damn you Soulman! Why'd you have to do this?!" She felt a slight tear trickle down her face. "You guys were such a powerful group....how could you be finished off like that...I hate this."

"C-capuchin...." Aida softly said.

"......I......Im alright." The navi assured, "I just...I just need this to sink in....."

".....I-Im s-so sorry...." The sad voice of Aida sobbed out.

".....Please dont be sad..." Capuchin silentley said, "I cant stand to see you cry."

"I cant help it. They were our friends. And.....and....."

"Im alone again." Capuchin silentley muttered as she stood back up. "I cant stand this...Aida.....I.....I need to get out of here. I need to think."

"A-agreed."

Just before she dematerialised back intgo the PET, capuchin said silently, "What would you do in this situation....SonGoku?" And with those lasts words, Capuchin left.

(JACK OUT)
"....." Tenshi merely stared at the events, remaining silent as was his duty. He knew full well what had just happened and it tore at him. Yet as was his duty to the dead, and his respect for the living he remained silent.

After it was all over, Tenshi looked at voltman before nodding "I'll see you sometime soon little one, perhaps then we can fight together on better terms." Tenshi turned around, his wings swaying with the motion before he disappeared in a flutter of feathers.

"Lifeaura..... pathetic..... to be used by a darknavi...They don't know the meaning of the word life" Spitting Gaeherris disconnected, feeling very frustrated. Tenshi had gotten out in time, and the anti viral programs had just been activated but the PET itself still displayed the same message "YOU CANNOT LAST". Gaeherris sighed, at the problems of those who fought in the past, the present, and the inevitable future.
"No more cocktails?"

"...fancy that you should chime in when it's over, old man," Triggerman jeered cooly. "...What the hell were you doing? Bar-hopping in the hopes some cheap girl half your age takes some pity on you?"

"...you of anyone should know I don't give a damn about it anymore." Marlowe countered through gritted teeth.

Without a wrinkle in his expression, he reviewed the video data that Triggerman had recorded offhandedly in his absence. ...just a bunch of dying fellows. Once you've seen one... you've seen them all.

The puzzle didn't make sense, with the kind of pieces that could fit but didn't make a picture. Lady Luck had dealt her hand, but the dame was playing hard to get.

I'll have to look into this...

"Looks like I didn't miss much," the detective commented, his tenor glazed in the kind of ice that could chill passions and break hearts.

"...and now?" Triggerman inquired.

"I've got some more errands to run... you sitting stagnant here isn't going to serve a purpose."

"Fair enough, old timer." With a spin of the Forty-Five, he replaced his six chambered companion in his holster.

With a sweep of the slinger's arm, the Western Wind threw itself about Triggerman's poncho in a final cadence of movement. In a moment later, the slinger's form had faded into but poncho and hat, and in another, the spectre had vanished, as did the presence of the desert breeze.
Oberon quickly backed away and watched silently, not daring to interfere. He was speechless; swept up in the drama of what was happening before his eyes. Titania was merely puzzled, more so because of the sudden murmur she felt in Kazu's vital signs. Shock? Fear? Or just plain sadness?

Soulman... and Ayumi... my God.

So Kazu knew them. Oberon realized that this was Titania thinking for him. He realized that a tear was in his eye after watching the heroic Navi's passing.

They had stepped into something big. And Kazu was being dragged with them. "We really walked into something big this time," said Titania to Kazu. Her eyes were still locked on the scene, of course-- because Oberon's were. "If you were planning on escaping the NetBattling world, then I'm sincerely sorry... Kazu. No, us. We're sorry."

Those last words were spoken in Oberon's voice, and Titania made a note to herself to read up on Kazu's past. They knew about him and his deeds... but he wouldn't be offended if they dug a little deeper.

One by one, the Navis were vanishing. The drama was over. It was time to buckle down and do some training-- to prepare themselves to be worthy of succeeding Miyamoto 404.

Like a tiny blinking light, the two simultaneously noticed Kazu's intention of ejecting them from a neck, and simultaneously they nodded. Two pairs of iridescent wings appeared on Oberon's back, one wide and thin like the powerful spread of a bird of prey, the other taller, more delicate, and wrapped close around his body like a cloak. A bright shaft of light descended from above, and then with just the smallest movement, Oberon leapt into the sky, and dissolved into a cloud of light that quickly dissipated into the virtual skies.
That navi...overpowered Swing? AND the original Soulman? This must be the true power of Undernet navis. I feel...faint. Pianissimo said to himself, still in shock from the end of the battle. Dimensionman...don't let Swing die. An emotion Pianissimo had never before felt struck Pianissimo as he watched the scene. Dimensionman carrying the injured Swing away, Soulman's passing...and Ayumi's assault on the navi. Was it sadness? Or possibly shock. Never before had anything quite like this happened, not even for Rigel.

Pianissimo whispered one last time to the wind, not sure if Swing would be able to hear it or not...

"Swing...stay alive...and watch. Some day, I'll be worthy to fight alongside you."

The shadows gathered around Pianissimo, and all sound seemed to vanish from the area. The shadows dissipated, and Pianissimo was gone.
XIII had gone completely silent. He had just seen two navi who he had fought along side with moments before, be destroyed. And whats more, he hadn't been able to stop it at all.

"Hey, XIII" Kasumi's voice came in. "why don't you come back. Its been a long day. Please. I really don't think its going to help any if you stay there. Their not coming back, no matter how hard you try."

XIII remained silent, but nodded solemnly and dematerialized as he jacked out. muttered some words as he disappeared.
"I couldn't do anything this time either..."
<Annnnnd... CUT! Beautiful performance. It really seemed like you were fighting for your life.>

"That's because I WAS fighting for my life!" AniMay muttered angerly,"We diddn't even get that sunshine chip..."

<No, but there is a reward for sticking it out, so we at least get somthing.>

"Well, that will have to do. Jack me out I need a rest."

and with a flash of pink light, AniMay dissapeared into her PET.
