Inside the shop

"Thank you," Katherine said as she took the bag. "This will work nicely."

She headed out of the store, going over what she would need to install the upgrade in her head.
The short, well dressed, operator walked back into the store and looked at the program lists. Music was coming from his headphones loudly as he held his PET in one hand while searching through the store stock and program lists. His eyes lit up when he found the floatshoes program, and quickly told the description to Trent. Trent agreed those would be for the best and Mark moved to the counter top, Card in hand. "Could I get the floatshoes program good sir?" Mark asked as he put the card unto the table.

Chris strolled into the store, looking around at the various programs and expansions available. He made his way over to the counter and asked for the programs that he wanted. "Hi there, could I get two sig expansions please? These'll be numbers eight and nine." Chris placed his cash card down on the counter.

"Floatshoes..." said Suitachi, as he bent down under the counter to extract a small box. Labeled "FloatShoes NCP" on the front, it was set in front of Mark, and subsequently packed into a plastic bag. While he was down, Chris walked in, and Suitachi waved his hand in acknowledgement of Chris' intended purchase. Two Process Upgrades made their way into a bag as well, and the shopkeeper swiped both of their cards with efficiency.

"Thank you, and have a nice day," he said, smiling.

Mark took his new upgrade and smile as he felt the package in his hands. He placed his debit card back into his wallet and walked from the store, ready to install the new upgrade, his shoes letting out a quiet leather squeak as he left.
Chris quickly pocketed the upgrades and card. With a simple nod and a "Thank you," he left the store.
Virgil walked into the store, and looked around. Bought time I went to get Daisy some upgrades... Virgil thought, walking to the counter. The man got out some Zenny

"Hey, I would like to get 4 PUs."

"Pee-You's? What the heck? I just showered this morning! I can't smell that bad!" Suitachi grumbled at Virgil's request.

As to save Virgil from some unrequested misery, the hologram of Tempoman popped out next to Suitachi, sighing.

"I believe he meant Process Upgrades, Suitachi. Have you been getting any sleep lately?" Tempoman explained, raising an eyebrow at his operator.

"Of course I have! You can't run a shop without a good night's sleep you know!" Suitachi snapped, getting up and stretching as he went into the back. "Four Process Upgrades right? Just wait a minute, okay?" the shopkeep called, rummaging around.

"You have to forgive him. Suitachi's kind of been a bit down lately," Tempoman explained as his operator came back with a neatly packed cardboard box about the size of a PeT.

"Four Process Upgrades, as requested," Suitachi announced, sighing as he handed the box to Virgil and took his money. "Thank you and have a nice day."

The chime of the door marked Roger's entrance into the shop for the first time. He sheepishly wandered the empty shop, not sure what he was looking for. He could easily afford the majority of the stuff he saw, but had very little idea as to what any of it was.

He kept the zenny he made from his online endeavors separate from his personal bank account, figuring that he had spent enough of his own finances on the PET already. Any additional add-ons would need to be purchased from money earned using his navi. Checking DubloonMan's personal cache surprised him as "7100z" appeared under the current balance. He didn't think that was right but began to recount his adventures and found that netbattling and virus busting was actually quite lucrative. Perhaps this side hobby of his wasn't such a waste of money after all.

As he scanned the various posters, a few things stood out to him: Speed Upgrades and Process Upgrades. Roger considered that a little extra speed wouldn't hurt and that Process Upgrades, if they did what they advertised, would help him customize his navi further.

He walked over to the front desk and made his decision, "Hello, how are you? Yeah, I'd like to get one speed upgrade and four process upgrades please."

If his math was right, this added up to six thousand zenny - a steep price but it was all earned by his navi and was now being spent on his navi, so it was fair. Roger glanced at another poster and saw that HP Memories were also sold here. He recalled DubloonMan's battle with the Neo-Shogun soldier and quickly added, "Oh, can I get an HP Memory too? Thanks."

Seven thousand zenny.

"All right, hold up," said Suitachi, turning back to lift a hefty box behind him onto the counter. From it, he extracted a few upgrades, scanning them through the register one-by-one. He then placed the box where it was, and received the money.

"Thank you very much, have a nice day."

"Yar, are we thar yet?" DubloonMan called out from the PET.

Roger laughed as he collected his upgrades, "Haha, no, sorry, not yet. I just wanted to go buy some things for... Well, for YOU really."

"Oh, Roger, lad. Ye shouldn't have!" DubloonMan grinned, "What booty did ye trade fer this time?"

"Ah, we'll check it later," Roger answered and faced Suitachi once more, "Hey thanks a lot. Have a nice night!"

He exited the shop and headed for the subway system.

The MetroLine whirred to a halt as Scarlet walked out, heading straight to the popular Navigator Upgrade Shop. Pushing its glass doors open, she strolled towards the counter, tapping on it to get the shopkeeper's attention. "NaviCust Upgrade V1, and Process Upgrades V4 and V5," she stated, showing her zenny card she kept purposely for Terra's upgrades.

Taking Scarlet's card and swiping it through the machine, Suitachi asked, "Very good, will you be wanting a bag with that purchase?" He rummaged behind the counter and corrected himself, "...Actually, we're all out at the moment. Sorry about that!"

As he collected the goods and gathered them on the counter, he bowed lightly, "Thank you very much and have a nice day."

"Thank you, sir, you too," said Scarlet, returning the bow with a small curtsy. Taking the upgrades and installing them into her PET, she walked out of the store, heading down the walkway to a certain headquarters of a large technological corporation. The sliding doors to the Electopian HQ for "Peach Tech Inc." opened silently as the red-clad woman walked in calmly.
Lyn stared at the door of the Navi shop for a while before entering. Despite considering herself an expert operator, Lyn had never actually needed to step foot inside this store, seeing as she'd never owned her own Navi. It felt strange to be going inside with the intent to purchase. It made it easier for her if she imagined it as an investment... a 5000z investment for which she intended to be fully reimbursed at some later time. And if it helped her make more money in the meantime, no harm, right? She got the feeling she'd be able to sucker fatso into whatever she charged, considering how desperate he'd seemed at the time.

"It's so nice of you to go shopping like this for me," Ship chimed in, breaking the chain of justification Lyn had been forging in her mind. "Do you know what you're going to buy?"

"Of course," Lyn said. Even though she'd never been in, Lyn was familiar with the store's stock and prices. "I'm not really much of a window shopper, if you hadn't guessed."

"But you and I are going to do some window shopping later when we go-" Ship began with a wink, before Lyn gave her the real-to-electronic equivalent to an elbow to the rib by punching off her audio communication.

Lyn faced Suitachi across the counter, producing what was basically the sum of her netbattling earnings so far. "One speed upgrade," she said formally, keeping her stare so trained on Suitachi that it would be scary even without her appearance.

[Speed Upgrade - 5000z]
Suitachi looked at Lyn's intense stare with an equal amount in depth of eye contact. For a moment, it felt like time had halted for the both of them, the air being noticeably stagnant. The drone of the air conditioner sounded like a loud foghorn. The stare-off went on for a few seconds before Suitachi lowered his gaze.

"One speed upgrade," he said, pushing the upgrade that had suddenly appeared on the counter towards Lyn. His face then suddenly softened, and the atmosphere was released from its heaviness.

"That'll be five thousand zenny. Thank you very much, and have a nice day."

The intensity of Lyn's stare didn't soften when Suitachi's did, but she did raise an eyebrow in curiosity. Why was this shopkeeper trying to have a staredown with her? Maybe he'd read somewhere that that was the appropriate way to deal with potential troublemakers (which Lyn acknowledged she might look like)...? Or maybe he was just some weirdo. Regardless, Lyn's expression fell to simple flat annoyance as she grabbed the upgrade and handed over the money. "Thanks," she said, turning and walking from the desk.
Jared opened the door to Suitachi's shop, and walked in. He knew exactly what he wanted as he made his way to the counter, but couldn't remember what the price was. He took a moment to check the catalog at the counter, and verified that it was indeed 2,100 Zenny. Jared looked up from the catalog and produced a credstick from his PET that had the correct amount loaded on it. "Heya. I'd like to purchase a #21 Process Upgrade." He placed the credstick on the counter as he spoke.

"Ah, it's JT. One sec, I'll go get it," greeted Suitachi, reaching down to the glass display underneath the counter to get the upgrade. Placed on the table, Suitachi bagged up the purchase before accepting the payment. "There we go. Thank you, and have a nice day."
