I swear, this computer...

I'm posting this in every forum I go to so I can get a (hopefully) quick resolution. And yes, I know Vista and chipsets suck.
------------------------------------------------------

My drivers are getting woefully out of date to the point of affecting my PSO playing, so I'd thought I'd update them. One hour later, and I remember why I haven't been updating them: they're stupid.

My laptop has Intel's GM965 Express Chipset Family, and I'm running 32-bit Vista Home Premium. Following me so far? Alright, then I go to Intel's site and download the driver app for the 965 Express Chipset Family (which includes my GM965), making sure to get the one compatible with my Vista OS. Next I run the app, let it install, and finally... this:

The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer.

That's right, the drivers for the chipset of the same name are a lie. After having re-tried it 4 more times, I'm at a total loss. ELABORATE, COMPUTER-SAAVY PEOPLE.
NEED MOAR BITMAP!

Otherwise, i'm clueless.

Easy. Follow my easy 6 step plan and you will understand:

1. Don't use Vista
2. Vista fucks you over
3. ???
4. PROFIT!
5. FORMAT
6. There is no 6
common, name a SINGLE software problem that can't be fixed via formatting.

Hell, I can think of a few hardware things formatting fixes...

In the meantime, I suggest you switch to a Computor.
Habeeb it.
mac 4 evar!!!
It's a Computor in disguise. It's just studying your behavior to see how you, or other humanoids, solve your problems.

Clicking safely remove hardware, and having my compy freeze up. (it was a friend who was overly curious)

Formatted 5 times and still got an error every day.

Sounds like a faulty piece of hardware to me.
It was still a software problem. He screwed up the SOFTWARE on the hardware.

so there.
I bet if you formatted the the actual faulty hardware, you'd have been fine.

You formatted the wrong thing.
So formatting will cure me of Vista?
That's right. Real men use nothing but the BIOS.
It's like streaking for your computer...

MANLY.

The re-format disk that come with my compy only work with the drive windows is on.

Oh, BTW, thats the thing that died. It didn't like my...removable..USB...whatevers, anymore...

I formatted the correct thing, and it didnt work. Sure I re-formatted because of other problems, and sure I cant now because my house got struck my lighting and the surge protector failed (see? it happens)

so ja, dun play with that button on your taskbar. It leads to BAD things.
