Sparks and Lucky show up in Hades!

After getting their spoils, Lucky hopped down off of his master's back. "What do you know, that plan of yours actually worked." The dog let out a sarcastic sigh, and gave the Navi's hand a lick.

"That wasn't too bad, but I'm sure itll only get worse the further we go. We could go turn in our bounty now... or we could continue hunting. What do you say?"

Eager to push their limits and improve Joseph chimed in, "We will keep going. Go till we can't go any more." He chuckled.

"Well master has spoken. Shall we continue." Sparks led the way down a fiery path searching for more Lavagon.

((Requesting battle 3))
Moving right along from the fortunate haul of loot, Sparks and Lucky delved further into Hades net looking for more of their target bounties. The question of exactly what was causing so many strong viruses, who traditionally kept to the deeper parts of the network, to appear so frequently in the more well-travelled regions might be a concerning one, but for now, the pair were on the trail of bounties.

Nevertheless, the trail-way they were on began to narrow before long — occasional pools of lave joined into increasingly large stretches, until it seemed as though they were moving along some kind of extended isthmus, with magma bubbling on either side. Occasional sink-holes twisted and sucked at a languid pace, out in the lava field, draining away to who knew where.

The floor beneath their feet was a thin pathway of solid metal, which heated to a mirage-inducing furnace on either side, and then broke into patches of coal at the edge of the lava, and the path itself wound forward, curving only slightly back and forth in an ominous snake pattern. Two figures seemed to be approaching Sparks and Luck from the other direction, but as they drew closer he'd be able to recognise them as viruses; one a fist-swinging Champy-type, the other some kind of multi-legged spider-creature, with a very heavy-looking hammer mounted on its back.

torches lit up on either side of the bridge as they clocked sparks and began rushing forward; two of them just a short way in front turned out to not be torches at all, however, and were much larger, fatter candles; the flames gave shape to two more viruses, menacing candevil spirits taking up stances in front of their respective candles.

Out in the lava to the left, a small crag of rocks revealed itself to be a volcano virus that observed the impending battle from afar, until a familiar rumble and roar announce the arrival of another Lavagon out of tone of the slow-moving sink-holes, off to Sparks' right.

RaiderRaider (Raider)

A large black sphere, with 4 mechanical, spider-like legs. It attacks by forming a large hammer atop its head/body, then somehow swinging it without any apparent body motion.
Raider does two things: it draws near, and attacks. In a battle, this is done by Feinting to get close to its target without completely sacrificing self-preservation, then smacking them hard with a hammer. It always alternates between these two, and almost never strays for this pattern: however, if it is completely incapable of harming any enemies for some reason, it will dodge to buy time for the enemy to become vulnerable. Which action it starts with depends on its initial position, as it will attack if it's already close, without bothering to feint.

-=Battle 3, Start!=-

Face to face with a new set of powerful opponents, Sparks turned his head from side to side, scanning the new battlefield. "I think... until it stops working for us, we should continue our strategy from the last fight." Sparks recommended.

"Agreed." Joseph inserted. "These are strong viruses, and we need to unload as much firepower as we can against them. I'm sure it won't continue to be as effective as it was... but It should at least be a good way to start the battles for now." The operator grabbed the same three chips he had just used and slotted them in once again.

"Arn't you supposed to ride on my back?" Lucky sighed before walking over to the samurai, and hopping on his back. Crossing his front paws to keep from falling off once Sparks started moving again. It wasn't long before that's what he did, because the Navi thought against using his SideBubble this time, and wanted to spend more time dodging, just in case the new set of enemies were ready to taste blood fast. After sidestepping to the left he launched his first attack. A red glow surrounded him, before exploding into a massive wave of fire. The RedWave splashed and spread into every direction. As soon as the flaming wave of energy hit the lava panels it stirred and gained momentum as it looked to flush out and damage anything in it's path.

As soon as the wave subsided, Lucky fired off his metal fire ball. It was aimed at the center point of the viruses so that the metal would spread as evenly underneath them as possible. Sparks then dodged again. This time taking a few steps to his left, keeping an eye out for incoming attacks. When he finished the short evasive movement was complete, the Gaia's hammer appeared in his hands. With a swinging overhead motion Sparks struck the ground below. Sending an electrically charged, highly accurate wave of destruction all around him. The wave traced the path it's predecessor had taken, hoping to finish what it could not.

After two waves, and some fancy footwork, whatever enemies managed to survive his onslaught was sure to feel some type of way and were sure to rear their their ugly faces in retaliation. Sparks continued to dance, and dodge in in the area he and Lucky had started the battle from, hoping to continue moving forward as healthy as possible.

Lucky
[Metalic Flame Burst][1 TCD]
Resolving to continue their strategy that hadn't failed them thus far, Sparks had Lucky mount him on his back, before modifying a good bit of the field into shining metal with Lucky's help, leaving no trace of the winding path that had once been. The strange black spider-machine virus rushed forward as he did so, swinging the hammer mounted on its back onto the ground. Luckily, he was able to avoid it by sidestepping out of its way, but the tremors from the attack caused a large piece of debris to fall onto his back, injuring his canine companion slightly. (-20@Lucky) The CanDevils had also begun spitting out streams of fire in a cross formation, which he slightly veered into. (-15x2@Sparks)

He was quick to retaliate with the RedWave attack, which was further fueled by the presence of lava in the area. Bursts of fire dealt a significant amount of damage to the Raider and Volcano, but the candle-like viruses weathered the attack with no damage sustained. The Champu dashed up to him in return with a one-two punch combo, but Sparks's evasive maneuvers allowed him to avoid the attack successfully. Next came the pair's staple attack, this time completely eliminating four of the viruses outright. The Champu, however, by sole virtue of being in close proximity to the attack, managed to escape the effects of the wide-range shockwave. In response, the Lavagon in one of the sinkholes breathed out a torrent of searing fire at him. Fortunately, he managed to anticipate the attack and avoid it, leaving only two of his adversaries on the field.

The Champu had rushed in, but was that to its advantage? Sparks managed to avoid its combo attack, while Lucky eyed the enemy from over the samurais left shoulder. A stream of fire billowed from the chow's mouth aimed at the ground between them and the ferocious fighter. As the flame touched the ground. It erupted into a massive tower. The inferno moved forward aiming to overtake the space the Champu hovered in.

If the FireTower didn't work, Sparks unsheathed his blade. With a swift slash, he sent a blade of potent lighting straight at the targets face. It connected, it would surely be enough to finish it off.

The duo of Sparks and Lucky knew what kinds of attack the enemies might send their way. Be it a double punch from a enraged Champu who managed to survive, or a vengeful Lavagon wanting to punish them for felling its friends with a strong fire attack. Sparks made his clone appear, and commanded it to chase down the dragon, while the real one continued to try and sidestep incoming attacks. Lucky would tuck his head behind Sparks hopefully keeping away from another blast of fire the Lavagon may choose to release.

"PickPocket, battlechip, download!" Joseph hurridly called for the Bandcoon to be summoned on the battlefield. "Get that Lavagon's chip for me pal!"

The rodent appeared in front of Sparks. It turned its head to its virtual master, gave a nod of approval before confidently following in the clones footsteps. The Bandcoon pounced over SparksClone from behind hoping to surprise the Lavagon with this alternate theft method, on its way down it made a grab at the Virus hoping to steal its data before scurrying away.

Before rushing in closer, Sparks activated the SideBubble battlechip he had been sent earlier. Two anchors materialized on either side of him, they started to dip towards the ground, before two bubbles surrounded them, and started to carry them slowly towards the menacing dragon. The samurai stepped in front of one of the bubbles, wanting to lure the Lavagon into attacking I'd it hadn't already chosen to do so. If it worked, he would do his best to avoid the attack by dodging to his left, hoping the fire breath would pop the bubble and send the anchor flying into the virus.

Lucky
[Metalic Flame Burst][Ready Next Turn]
With the Champu now in striking range, Lucky and Sparks focused their offense on it, with Lucky starting off with a burst of flame breathed from his maw. Unfortunately, he misfired slightly, but Sparks was there to back him up with his blade, bisecting the virus with a quick slash. The nearby Lavagon continued its previous attack, spitting out another breath of fire towards the two. They were able to avoid it easily, however, sending a little Bandcoon to steal a bit of data from the Lavagon, before firing out a pair of slow-moving bubbles with anchors inside of them. They floated slowly over to the dragon, with their contents weighing them down into a lethargic bobbing motion.

Sparks was able to access the data almost immediately. First he sent his clone to follow the same path he had just taken, hoping to have the Lavagon make a mistake and break open the bubble, since it hasn't worked the first time around. While the clone tried to distract the dragon, Lucky blasted another metal laying fireball towards the ground between the and the dragon, so that Sparks would have safe footing in the upcoming altercation. Once the metal was set, the samurai flashed over to the Lavagon's left side. Hoping to avoid a stream of return fire as he ran, he tapped into the first chip. The bubbletrap tended to be highly inaccurate, but Sparks focused his senses before activating it.

Whether he succeeded in trapping the enemy or not, it was time to get busy with the blade. Now face to face with the powerful virus, Sparks blade glowed bright with electricity once again as he activated the second chip. Lucky kept his head down, while his partner went to work. If the dragon had managed to be caught by the trap, it would only take one slash from the electrified sword, but had the trap not worked... He would continue the combo.

The first slash was simple and clean. The blade ran horizontally aiming to slice the dragon's body right were it exited the pot. In expert fashion, he flipped the blade out of habit, and brought it back in the opposite direction wanting to further damage the dragonic opponent. His sword play was magnificent, it was a shame that the Lavagon didn't have a blade of its own, as Sparks stepped to the left in anticipation of another attack. His feet carried him effortlessly to another position as if the wind had blown, and his body just moved ever so slightly to give him another angel to attack from. Sparks hoped to end the battle with one final attack. It came in the form of a swift, falling overhead slash that looked to split the dragon between its eyes.

Sparks
[ZapSlash][2 TCD]

Lucky
[Metalic Flame Burst][1 TCD]
With a pair of slow moving attacks making their way towards it, and the formerly bridge-bound navi provided with a solid path out to its current location, the Lavagon proceeded to duck down into the sink hole from whence it came, allowing the two anchor-filled bubbles to sail past it and away across the lava field. Before Sparks could cross the platform to make his close range attacks, however, the dragon emerged from one of the other sink holes, and gave both sparks and his companion a decidedly evil eye.

Sparks aimed his encapsulating bubble attack at the creature once more, but this time had no luck sticking the trap; the bubbles wobbled away on the thermal heat from the lava and drifted by without connecting. This left sparks and Lucky with a slightly more aggravating decision about how to finish off the dragon before it could ruin their outing; with it now on the left side of the walk way, there was, once more, an irksome expanse of lava between them and it. If sparks wanted to hit it with his sword, he'd either need to do something acrobatic and dangerous, or risk striding into the lava itself.

((Appreciate the generous ModSplice, I think I will go ahead and just finish of that turn if its okay. Would rather not spend a bunch of time on the post, only for the Lavagon to fall by the end of these first three actions...))

The Lavagon deciding to switch holes really threw Sparks and Lucky off of their game for a moment. "I thought you would stand and fight." The samurais words came of as disrespectful. "No honor comes from running away." Lucky wouldn't be able to give him another solid footing until he had rested a little longer, so they would have to attack from a distance. Joseph seen this and uploaded a set of chips promptly.

"I'm sending you the ZapRing, and FireHit2 so go ahead and try to finish it off for good this time."

"Yes master." The data came in hot, Sparks left hand dropped to his side, the sword still buzzing with electricity, but with no target to swipe at it wouldn't do any good. He held his opposite hand towards the dragon. Electrical charges crackled all around his hand and wrist before firing off a small, yet fast charge of lighting that blitz the enemies new location.

Directly following the ZapRing, the samurai followed up with a double fire ball projectile that traced the previous attacks path. The flying balls of fire whizzed through the air, a trail of smoke following closely behind. One by one they sped towards the Lavagon hoping to bring it down in a blaze of glory. One ball colided with or around the Dragon, immediately followed by the second.

Faced with the prospect of going through the lava, Sparks changed up his tactics, instead firing off a small charge of lightning, followed by a pair of fireballs at the Lavagon. The counterattack was too fast for the Lavagon to react to, leaving it to be charred by the onslaught of attacks as it fell down into the lava that it summoned with a howl.

Having cleaned up nicely the battle came to a close. Lucky hopped off of Sparks back, and the duo continuted down there path. Hades was a deep twisted dark part of the net, that not many could cross easily. They were both finding that out the hard way. Various cracks could be seen running three different pieces of armor, their mood was exhausted, but it was time to keep driving forward, even deeper into the unknown, what awaited them next?

((Requesting battle 4))

((Battle 4 post, putting here so I can copy and paste it on my phone))

Sparks and Lucky strolled into what seemed to be an intrical viral band performance in Hades. The tune was very fitting for a little background music, it was a shame that itd have to stop once they got to fighting. "Look back there... that light." Lucky had scanned the beach, and caught the red glow imitting from the hills.

"Yea... I wonder what it is?" Sparks hand rested on the hilt of his blade as he took a few steps inward on the heated metal path. "Looks like we will have to get through the Bone Patrol first." The samurai had named the band of his own accord, and didn't bother thinking about the might had already had a name. "I've never fought one, but I fought something similar... we need to delete that trombone virus first..."

"I'll strike first." Lucky's face twisted as a fireball began building itself up inside his mouth and throat. The dog's massive teeth could be seen as his jaws grew wider as the ball of flame got larger. Once it was too large to contain, he sent it flying towards the Tromby as if it was a fan throwing gifts on the stage for the awesome performance.

Sparks didn't want to give it time to react, and Joseph knew that so he quickly supplied him with some battlechips. Two long range high accuracy chips should be enough to finish off the music spewing enemy. First, Sparks removed his hand from the hilt at his side, and held it's palm facing the target. The loud "BOOM" of a cannon could be heard as a powerful attack sped to hopefully finish off the Virus. Second, his right hand was covered in static, before a surge of electricty fired from the still open palm, heading straight for the instrument had it not been finished off. If the MarkCannon was enough to delete the Tromby, Sparks would turn his ZapCannon1 towards the Lavagon in hopes of keeping it from popping up behind them and catching them with a surprise attack.
The path continued forward, winding across the lava field as Sparks and Lucky pushed on, tired out but determined to get a little further. The sky had darkened and something like night had rapidly fallen as they'd progressed, and now the boiling magma to either side of them seemed almost to glow, pitched against the dark ink of the night sky.

The torches to either side of the path were spaced at regular intervals; they no longer encountered any sneaky candles taking their places, but each of the pillars were gradually replaced by structures that looked to be made of skulls and bones, the tops burning with bright orange and yellow flames. Before long, the pair started to hear an odd sound... a bit creepy at first, but as they drew closer, there was something alluring and bouncy to it. It was definitely music.

Ahead, the metal path ended at the edges of a barren sandy beach shore, against which the magma bubbled and sizzled. The path crossed onto the sand with two particularly tall skull pillars, each ablaze with fire at the top, before it split around a very strange-looking device. It was made entirely of bones, and formed as moderately sized pod that could hold up to three people standing inside; the three positions presented a number of keys, levers and sound boards, reaching up and around the insides and occupying it, a trio of similarly bony Skarab viruses were... playing. The majority of the oddly beautiful music was coming from the complicated-looking osteophone, certainly, but perched on a much taller pillar behind it, Sparks would also be able to see a tromby, piping its own tenor undertones to support the lead music, and there was more, too...

Off to the left and the right, two more podiums, flanked by burning torches of their own, looked to be predominately drum kits, behind which two MettFires added the heavier under beat of bass to the music. The background sounds of bubbling lava seemed to compliment the tune, and none of them seemed, right away, to be paying too much attention to Sparks as he moved along the winding path towards them. Just off to his left, Sparks might be startled to notice another Lavagon, risen up from a sink hole near the edge of the lava that was watching the group of viruses. The navi and his companion had drawn as close to it as they had, possibly because the lava dragon was quiet, swaying back and forth almost like it was in a daze.

Behind this strange sight, the metallic pathway seemed to continue, leading into a part in the hills behind the beach, from which a deep red glow was emanating. This whole set-up looked a bit like the precursor to something, and whatever that something was, it was further beyond, hidden by the hills.

-=Battle(?) 4, Start!=-

Sparks and Lucky strolled into what seemed to be an intricate viral band performance in Hades. The tune was very fitting for a little background music, it was a shame that it'd have to stop once they got to fighting. "Look back there... that light." Lucky had scanned the beach, and caught the red glow emitting from the hills.

Second, his right hand was covered in static, before a surge of electricity fired from the still open palm, heading straight for the instrument had it not been finished off. If the MarkCannon was enough to delete the Tromby, Sparks would turn his ZapCannon1 towards the Lavagon in hopes of keeping it at bay.

The last chip that was used was the PickPocket, which meant Joseph wanted Sparks to continue his relentless attempts at grabbing their bounties chip. The samurai turned around, if he hand't done so already, and summoned the Bandcoon right between them and the Lavagon. He quickly it the orders. "You know the drill buddy. Go get me that chip." With a pat to the head, and the command the little critter scurried across the short distance and leapt at the dragon with all its might. Once face to face the tame virus reached out its little hand and made a snatch at the data, before once again running off to hide.

The wanna be band was sure to be riled up by now after Sparks and Lucky began making a ruckus and ruining their performance. The music still rang from the strange bone like structure keeping a little excitement in the air. In cartoonish fashion, like a soul leaving the body, Spark clone split and ran to the center of the beach, in the middle of the three Skarab viruses. Once there, it began dancing to the music, hoping to keep their attention on itself and not the duo standing just off the beach.

No newcomers to danger, the two remained attentive. Attacks could come from many angels in this battle. A stream of fire from the dragon, meteors falling from the sky... while Sparks hadn't faced a Skarab before, anything local to Hades was dangerous. So while he hoped his clone kept them busy, he and Lucky prepared to dodge the next attacks as best they could while not leaving their immediate area. Sparks was extra careful, because he didn't want to get careless and cost himself more damage, with the hint of danger lingering in the background.

Sparks and Lucky both had the same idea as the music managed to take effect over their bodies. Having their legs somewhat frozen in place, preventing them from dodging the incoming projectiles. Navi, and .SP alike both created small fields of energy around them to help them absorb as many attacks as they could before the Tromby's spell had passed. The music's effect shouldn't effect a fake Sparks, so the Samurai also caused an illusonary figure of himself to split, and dash towards the center of the beach once more, with the mission of drawing in some extra attention.

"I'm gonna send you a few chips, use them to the best of your ability." Joseph grabbed a hand full of the battlechips, and slotted them in hoping to assist his team. They were pushed into a corner at the moment, but he was sure the three of them could pull through, and regain control of the battle at hand. "Don't get frustrated, maintain focus and lets push through."

Lucky showed his fangs in irritation. A dead instrument like virus still managed to to leave them a gift... He fired off a metal fireball to the center of the beach. As the ball hit the sandy layout, a thin layer of solid silver footing spread outwards, swallowing up the surrounding terrain. "I don't like being played with, as soon as I am free... I am going to burn them alive!"

The first chip Sparks had access to was his SideBubble1. The twin bubble covered anchors appeared between he and the Lavagon. He knew as soon as the dragon managed to regain it's composure it had the ability to lash out with a devastating fire attack that would completely overtake their fields of defense. Very slowly the two floating weapons made their way towards the stunned enemy. His second chip was of the same affinity. The samurai took a moment to focus before using it though. He closed his eyes, and after a few seconds of concentration, opened them immediately tapping into the BubbleTraps ability, aiming the three aquatic prisons at the Lavagon, and the two shifty Mettfire viruses.

Sparks had one chip left from what his operator had sent him. The palm of his hands turned a hot red, before birthing a small fist shaped ball of Fire energy. A small cloud of smoke trailed behind the flying fist as the Navi sent them towards two separate entities, aiming to delete the hopefully now trapped meteor mages.

Summary

More curious about the ominous mystery beyond, Sparks and Lucky opted to push through the cluster of playing viruses as efficiently as they could. As they took aim and assessed, the music worked its way into each of their minds, and Sparks might understand why the Lavagon seemed a little dazed, but it cut to a long beat of silence as both he and Lucky took their shots at the trumpeting virus and cut off its notes with an indignant squeak and the sound of crumpling metal.

There was a a beat of silence and stillness, then another, and then, all at once, the band started playing again, louder and more aggressively. The music was less atmospheric and much more... clashy now and as the trio of bone viruses beat out their rhythm, each of them found space in their playing to twist and fling a spinning projectile bone at one of the three figures they could see. One flew by Lucky to the left, while another managed to impact Sparks' decoy. The third came for Sparks himself, but he managed to duck away from it. Despite this, the two bones that had missed arced around in their spinning and twisted back towards each of them.

Amidst the heavy percussive drum beats, one of the MettFires darted out towards centre-stage, dancing a harsh series of motions that waved its staff in the air; the staff crackled into fire and rose high, heralding the descent of three burning meteors towards the field, just as the virus darted back behind its instruments. The burning rocks rushed down, but they weren't particularly accurate; the one that looked like it might hit Lucky was imprecise enough that the support program managed to dodge away from it before it hit. Two more were vaguely aimed in Sparks' direction, but neither of them managed to hit him, either.

It was at about this point that the Lavagon shook itself off, roared once for being disturbed, and was promptly struck in the face by Sparks' next attack, the electric ring sending jolts through the dragon. It blasted a stream of fire back at him, though Sparks was nimble enough to dodge it, but then seemed to reel for a moment, dizzy. In the confusion, Sparks sent his bandcoon to attempt another theft. Asking the small furry critter to cross a lava field in order to frisk its target seemed like a difficult order, but the fluffy critter did its best, darting back along the bridge enough to climb one of the pillars, then launch itself at the distracted dragon. There was a brief series of growls and chitters and it scrambled all over the length of the fearsome virus, then flung itself off the end of the dragon's snout, to land back on the sand at the edge of the beach. It clearly had something in its teeth as it darted away to take cover.

Before Sparks could really take a guess at what, however, he could feel a parting gift from the Tromby's music catching up with him, and his limbs began to lock uncomfortably, like some kind of static paralysis; he couldn't move, for the moment, and a glance showed him Lucky suffering in the same way.

While they waited for their bodies to recover, the navi and his SP formed some defences instead, and just in time as well — no sooner had the pair got their barriers up, than the other Mettfire slipped out from behind its instruments to adopt centre stage and raise its own staff, just like the first one had. It darted back again, taking cover as more burning rocks fell from the sky. One aimed for sparks' decoy, crashing down and seemingly having no effect — even on the decoy. The other two were more accurate and Sparks and Lucky both got him. They each got splattered further by the cross-splash of the molten rocks striking the furnace below their feet.

Each of them had the fun of watching the spinning bones homing in on them sail past again, before dropping to the ground without effect, though the trio of Skarabs continued to play fervently on their rig and flung more bones out in the process, ramping up the heavy percussion of their music. These bones, similar to the first, failed to connect with anything, but two of them continued to track, coming back towards Lucky and sparks respectively for another attempt.

Lucky converted most of the beach to solid metal, saving them from the perils of sand, while Sparks tried to douse the stunned Lavagon with slow-moving bubbles. Unfortunately unwieldy, the drifting weapons sailed past the swaying dragon to no avail. His next attempt worked a bit better, on the dragon at least — it was splashed and captured inside a giant bubble, and this seemed to shake it out of its daze. The other two bubbles failed to track down their targets, however, with the skittish MettFires dodging away or sheltering behind their instruments. A more direct approach proved somewhat more effective, as sparks unleashed a dual flame strike against one of the pair: the first fist destroyed the drum kit in a clatter of breaking instruments, while the second crashed into the suddenly unprotected MettFire before it could react. It reeled from the blow, but seemed as much distressed by the destruction of its band equipment, as it was by its imminent deletion.

Side Bubbles x 2: Just past Lavagon, over Lava

Mods Pickpocket Note
Rolled so perfectly that I wanted to make a note in case anyone else picks this up; perfect roll to hit and a perfect six after that; awarding the StandOut chip from the Lavagon.

Having been freed from their musical trap, it was time to clean up. Sparks unsheathed his sword, which produced the katana with a blade of majestic lighting. Sparks turned the weapon on the trapped dragon. Slashing from above his left shoulder, crossing his arm crossing his body in a downwards motion. If the slash was accurate enough, the swords electrical prowess would pop the bubble and zap the Lavagon with extra volts leaving it deleted. "Let's go Lucky." Sparks called out to his .SP, before requesting more chips. "Master, the Gaia please."

"I'm on it, make your way to the heavy metal beach, and lets give them something to rock out about." Joseph made a cheesy little pun, as he slotted in the Gaia1, followed by the ElecSword."

Lucky was right beside Sparks when the Navi decided to jump on his back, much like a like a samurai on horseback, except dogback. "This works better, then me jumping on your back." Lucky panted, before running and jumping. The jump took him a little ways into the air, but his intended landing zone was the center of the area he had laid his metal terrain. While their bodies floated through the air, Sparks released a clone, that jumped from the dog first. The clone hit the gleaming hardened sand, and performed a fake slash at one of the Skarabs, hoping to confuse it into wasting a preemptive attack.

Lucky and Sparks landed next, with new chips in hand. The dog kept his head high, knowing they both had incoming bone like projectiles looking to do them harm. Keeping active he would attempt to dodge with a short hop to his left, if the bone or any other attack came towards him. Sparks sheathed his sword, putting the light out momentarily. Then he held his right hand high above his head. The viruses would see the purple hammer of a Gaia virus materialize in the samurai's stretched out hand. Cracking sounds popped off of the newly dawned weapon, as Sparks imbued his elemental power into the hammer. He had to dip his body slightly as to reach the ground, but the Navi quickly brought the energized hammer head to the ground below. An electrical force swept the metallic battlefield in every direction, looking to claim any life it managed to contact, and cause as much destruction as it could while it made its way through. The electrified shockwave diminished in the distance, as the hammer fell to pieces around them.

If the battle didn't end, Sparks didn't have much range of motion while he was on the dogs back, but if meteors came falling, or bones came flying, or fire came spraying... he would duck and dodge to the best of his ability. They had to preserve their strength for what was to come... whatever danger loomed behind the beach would most likely be even more dangerous then what surrounded them now.

Looking to end the fight quickly and move on, Sparks prepared to make use of his strongest trick and clear the field. first, however, there was the matter of his bounty target to deal with, out in a sink hole in the middle of the lava. A quick judgement call saw the samurai dart out to slice it from its bubble prison before it could get free on its own — the lava briefly scorched him, but the small sacrifice was worth it to neatly put the dragon virus out of action before he returned to give his toasted feet a rest and mount up on his faithful companion. He did so amidst another shower of burning meteors, from the first MettFire, but between his nimble movements and the virus' bad aim, none of the projectiles struck him or his companion this time.

As they charged the beach, doing their best to dodge the flying bones, one clipped Lucky hard; the remains of his barrier protected him before collapsing, but a wave of disorienting confusion still washed over him from the impact and his strides wobbled. They reached the beach amidst another shower of bones — one had been flung at his decoy, certainly, but another came right for Sparks, and his mount's slightly shaky landing made it too awkward for him to dodge it cleanly, and the crack over the back of his head set his vision spinning for a few moments.

Resolute, Sparks still made what he hoped would be the final blow of the encounter, slamming down his Gaia hammer and sending a wave of electricity arcing across the metal panels. Screeches and the hiss of damaged sound equipment filled the air as the music finally ground to an undignified halt and innocent instruments crashed all around. It took a long few moments for the dust to clear, but silence came with it. The viruses all seemed to be gone, and the surrounding pillars and band equipment were little more than a destroyed wreckage now. One tall pillar remained, teetering for a few seconds. A single MettFire, badly hurt, began scampering away up the path, fleeing. The pillar tipped; the virus glanced behind itself as the shadow fell across it. One final crash, and the battle was won.

Picking through the wreckage revealed a good portion of salvageable zenny and bugfrags, but the real prize was revealed when Sparks' bandcoon ally came out of hiding to present him with the chip data it had managed to frisk.

Sparks gave Lucky a pet on the head as they shook off the confusion caused by the flying bones. It took a moment, but they came too, walked across the metal sand and picked up what rewards they could make use of, including the powerful Standout chip. "Well the Bandcoon finally came through for us." Joseph's voice rang over the beach. "What do yall say? Want to see whats giving off the red light back there?"

"Can we get a break." The oversized chow flopped over to his side, letting out a yawn.

"We can break after we find out whats coming next." Sparks followed up. "The sooner we finish, the sooner we get to rest."

"Yea Sparks is right, keep moving for now."

The dog growled, and made it back up to his feet. The duo and their battleworn apperance made their way behind the destroyed music stage and over the hills to see what was emitting the bright red glow.

((Requesting Battle 5))
Weary and slightly battered, the duo claimed their rewards and prepared for one more push to see the pathway to its end before they could rest. The hills beyond the beach grew steeply, but the winding path cut through between them moving closer to the eerie red glow rising from beyond the peaks. The temperature grew hotter as they pressed on — the beach had been a brief respite from the ever-present lava, but now the heat was rising again. A mirage hung in the air as the stones beneath them baked.

Before long the narrow road led them through the steep rocky mountains, to what seemed like an inland lake. Closer inspection, however, with the wide, circular lava pool hemmed in by a complete circle of steep hills, made the scene look more like a sunken volcano crater. The lava bubble and fumed, and aside from the edge of the barren stone shore they were on, it didn't seem as though there was much other room to stand.

Out in the centre of the lake, a single object would likely catch their eyes. It looked like a particularly large skeletal hand raised up in the centre of the lava, holding a curved sword that was easily twice Sparks' own height. The blade was silver and bright, but bore a rippling wave pattern that shimmered in the heat. The guard looked ornate, with a very large ruby set into the centre of it, glowing with a flicker of fire light... or perhaps it was nothing more than the reflection of the lava. It was hard to tell.

The other impression was of sound, once more. Not so much clear music this time, but a steady, rhythmic beat that pulsed low and heavy through the air. Smaller stones, at the edges of the cross guard and a third on the hilt of the blade, flared in time with the beat, which Sparks and Lucky could feel, more than hear. It rose by two steps, paused a beat, then fell by the same two steps, holding the steady beat almost like it was waiting for something.

As they approached the edge of the lake, a low sigh of breath drifted out to each other them, clear yet quiet over the pulsing beat and the bubbling of the lava.
"Assessing digital rights... Authenticating..." One had to wonder if the pair were really supposed to be here.
