Thanks to the powers of his Breastplate's regeneration, Regalia scarcely noticed the two arrows that struck him. If it affected him at all, in fact, the elderly navi showed no sign; instead he lunged forward. Electricity sparked across his armor as his cape consumed itself, and unlike the norm, this time the lightning flowed through Regalia instead of from him. Lightning filled the knight's arm like veins, crackled across his skin, glowed yellow in his green eyes, and as he approached the Monosword he roared, throwing his fist at it like a prize fighter. "Get the hell... away from him!"
BOOM went the thunder, and CRACK went the lightning as his fist struck his opponent's armor; the gray-maned knight punched the MonoSword hard enough to crack the thing's armored shell, launching it into the air with a fierce uppercut that left lightning crackling around the site of impact. Regalia's fist sparked and glowed as it rushed upward, raised toward the sky, raised toward the virus, and then a second powerful bolt leapt from the knight's fist, striking the MonoSword with another powerful BOOM.
Regalia settled in for a moment, watching as his charge struck out at the remaining Piranha, then watching as he returned to Regalia's side. He took heed of Shane's words, and with a nod he clapped Nightshade on the shoulder. "On the battlefield, one must be constantly wary." Regalia explained to him. "It is not wrong to take joy in victory, to feel the code flow through you as your battle routines speed up." He pat-patted the cat navi's shoulder. "But you must temper yourself. You must follow through on every strike, make every move with your whole self. Instead of rushing from one act to the next, take the time to feel the flow of it, to notice, to detail each step in your mind. Paint a clear picture for yourself of what you are doing, and then..." Regalia cleared his throat. "Thomas, the sword if you would?"
"I'll give you more than that, buddy." Thomas slotted in a very interesting set of chips, and a smile spread across Regalia's face. The knightly navi discarded his cane, throwing it to the side. The cane twirled end over end as it hurtled through the air, and then with a burst of wind it exploded, light and motion sending it careening back toward the knight. Regalia raised a hand to catch the handle of the glowing, ephemeral AirSword as it came to him, looking into Nightshade's eyes, and a single word left his lips as he caught it and disappeared:
"...Execute."
Without a sound Regalia appeared behind the viruses in front of the coal; his arm was already cocked back, his blade of wind howling as it sucked in air, growing in brightness, growing into a maelstrom in his grip. The air fought against itself as he dragged the wind blade through the air, a sound like shredding paper echoing out, loud enough to drown out all the other sound. Around the site of the slash the waves beneath Regalia's feet parted, blown back by the breeze with enough force to reveal the onsen stones beneath. Slowly the onsen waters moved to reclaim their Terrain, but Regalia wasn't done. At the end of his swing arc, the light that had built up in the middle of the winds discharged; more lightning cracked the sky, this time leaping in an arc toward the first of the two submarine-esque Marina viruses. Regalia didn't stop to watch as it bounced from panel to panel, only stopping to strike down into the panel its target was submerged in.
Instead Regalia did the impossible: He reversed the course of a hurricane. The Airsword howled louder, the winds themselves complaining as the winds surrounding the blade sharpened into razor-like wisps, cutting through the air, cutting through the water, cutting through even the onsen stones as Regalia swung the blade back around. With it he again cleaved through the space where the trio of viruses sat, following through on the swing until he'd spun around to face the Marinas again. The blade began to disintegrate in his hands, spent from the winds it had called, spent from the energy it had channeled-- but before it was gone Regalia threw it, allowing the lightning within to break free.
Just like the first bolt, the second blitz zig-zagged across watery panels. Just like the first bolt, it leapt high when it found its target. Unlike the first bolt, this time the bell tolled for the second Marina, and hopefully its demise would be swift. Regalia turned toward Nightshade at the last of it, and with a spring in his step the knight began to move back toward him. Air fired from his breastplate in bursts as he moved, aiding the knight's steps, and soon enough he was standing before Nightshade once more.
Amused by his own navi's actions, and finally registering that Shane had asked him a question, Thomas at last answered. "Yeah, I think I'd enjoy a meet-up team-up sort of thing. Might be fun. You seem like you're just starting out as a netbattler, so I could help give you some operating tips, too."
"What about your coursework, Thomas?" Regalia asked, listening in.
"Er, it uh, it can wait, of course." Thomas beamed. "That's why they call it COURSEwork! because of COURSE it can wait!"
"That's not what that means, Thomas. Thomas? Thomas!" Regalia began to yell, but by then Thomas had long since hit the mute button~
"Nightshade, tell me that you, at least, don't have to deal with this from your operator?" The elderly knight sighed. "I'm not certain if I could take the knowledge that everyone has to put up with a brat like mine."
"Hey, I heard that!" Thomas quipped back. "I'm not sure I could take the knowledge that everyone has to put up with a cranky old man navi!"
"You programmed me to look like this!" Regalia exclaimed, flabbergasted.
This was gonna be one of those days.

Fishing for Zennies

Continuing the formal lesson, Regalia had more words of decisive action and precision for Nighshade, before demonstrating with an impressive flourish. Nightshade himself was eyeing up the Piranha that had escaped him before, while Regalia's dispatched the damaged sword virus mid-lecture. With his final word, however, he warped and made a slice, perfectly precise and without excess, tearing the three viruses in his path part with one swing of his wind-storming blade.
Nightshade was able to witness the impressive display without getting thrown off his own efforts, and connected an electrifying shot that finally got rid of the fish virus before it could ready any more spears. The two worked more or less in tandem, and as they did the two Marina viruses rose up again, just enough to launch fresh anchor-bubbles at their enemies. The one directed towards regalia circled wide, drifting away without issue, and Nightshade was easily able to dodge away from the one more accurately directed to him. The two ships were about to submerge again, but Regalia was having none of that nonsense from them. Between forceful sword flourishes, sent two electrical bolts at them. Each one found its mark and the combination of electricity, the water, and the Marina's own inherent make-up was far too much for them to survive.
With that, there was no further need for any other actions and the two met back up again to a cleared battlefield, while their operators discussed the merits, or possible problems, with meeting up. On the navi side of things, at least, the spoils were a momentary distraction.

PiranhaPiranha (Piranha)
Piranha viruses work as a hive-mind. They all move at the same time, attempt to detect targets at the same time, and once a targets is detected by any of them, they all attack that one target at the same time. Moving and searching for targets takes one action. Attacking takes another. Any Piranha just recovering from a status effect that prevents normal operation will resume acting in unison with the rest of the group.

ShrimpyShrimpy (Shrimpy)
Shrimpy viruses are able to move between attacks as a free action, however dodging still costs them an action. They must pause movement to attack. Shrimpy viruses may move over fragile panel types without damaging them, such as moving over Cracked panels without breaking them. Shrimpy viruses cannot be forcibly submerged or smashed through fragile panels, even if thrown. They can submerge of their own free will, however.

MonoSwordMonoSword (MonoSword)
MonoSword are distant cousins of Swordy, but have evolved further in an attempt become more a threat. They attack by teleporting in front of their target, and slashing with their namesake before returning to their original position. Their blades are sturdier than most, and can cut through things regular ones cannot, such as shields. Their bulky armor also gives them above average stamina, but it weighs them down to the point where they do not move or dodge, aside from attacking. Despite it lacking any sort of defense that would bestow such a weakness, they ironically take additional damage from Break attribute attacks.

Bonuses and penalties do not stack if multiples of the same virus family exist on the field. Wind and Fan do not push or pull Objects, only creatures.
Area: SciLab, Yoka, Beach, Sharo, Netfrica, Hades Isle
HP: 100
Attack Damage/Effect: Wind Effect, Northwind
Attack Accuracy: S
Attack Description: Causes a large scale gale of wind to blow across the entire field in the direction the virus is facing. This gale will constantly move all targets this virus considers to be enemies in the direction the wind is blowing, which makes it difficult to land many kinds of attacks on it and allied viruses, such as thrown attacks and close ranged attacks. All those affected by the wind will also have their barriers and auras blown off by a constant Northwind effect.
Element: None
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): Wind, Zenny
Special: Causes short ranged attacks, such as (but not limited to) swords, melee attacks, and flame thrower style weapons, to suffer from a 30% accuracy penalty against targets they are being pushed away from. Both sides of the engagement suffer a 30% accuracy penalty with direct attacks perpendicular to the direction of the wind, and all thrown attacks.
Special: Those allied with this virus may opt to take advantage of the wind to increase movement speed or evasion by going with the wind. They do not suffer any penalties, however. Conversely, anyone may move along with the wind to increase accuracy by 10% for close ranged attacks, assuming the target is in that direction.

Nightshade wasn't impressed by Regalia's antics, not because they weren't impressive but because he was completely assorted in other thoughts. There was something in his eyes as he looked up at the elder and more experianced combatant. "Stay the hell away from him!" He said. Nightshade had to wonder...how much did Regalia really care about him?
The little cat navi tip tapped over to Regalia, quiet. With his tail still wagging at the knight, the young squire observed the elderly figure. Scratching the floor with his feet paw, he fumbled around a little, not really knowing how to go on about this. He wiggled himself closer to Regalia and...hugged the old navi for no apparent reason.

"Well anyway, I think it's a decent idea, meeting up." Thomas continued speaking, happily stowing away all his super important college work into a mental drawer marked "EVENTUALLY". "In fact, I should be able to head over basically right now."
Regalia opened his mouth to retort, but all that came out was an "Ah-" as he found himself being hugged rather suddenly. For the sour knight this was a rather new experience; he had never known Thomas when the boy was young enough to be sentimental or overly affectionate, and it wasn't like his normally-sour demeanor inspired affection in others. His hands hovered over Nightshade's head, trembling as the elder man tried to put his thoughts in order, torn between pushing Nightshade away and embracing him.
Finally, the knight patted a head down atop Nightshade's head, petting him. "You did well." He said calmly, continuing to pet him. "You are learning, and that is enough."
Thomas, meanwhile, was continuing to pack up his homework. If he had paid a little more attention, cared just a little more... perhaps he would've noticed. Perhaps he would have seen the sad look that briefly crossed Regalia's face, the longing for companionship from his personal God.
But no, by the time Thomas turned back to Regalia, the moment had passed and the look was gone. "Ah, Regs, looks like he likes you! Didjoo get a widdle fwiend?"
Regalia grumbled in response.
((Ready for battle!))

GigaMan was already in Yoka. This is where he was before he stumped upon the group at hand.
There was a throbbing sensation going through the possessed Navi's head. Something was stabbing at his conscience, picking at every fiber. Each stab sent a shiver down the the Navi's data core. Was the real GigaMan attempting to fight back for control? It was possible, the virus hadn't told Julius that he couldn't completely ride the body of its previous mind, but that Navi was far to weak to regain control.
GigaMan was aimlessly walking trying to shake of the strange yet painful sensation. He was quite the whole time, and he didn't even manage to notice the even stranger sight of a cat like Navi hugging a knight in the middle of Yoka Net. He walked passed them just a few steps, then paused. Something did manage to finally catch his attention. Was it the two Navis? A virus? The pain in his head? Whatever it was, Giga finally sounded off with a very loud, horrendous roar. The roar carried a a shriek like overtone, It was sure to catch the attention of anything around him.

((Arriving from Online Navi Store))
"Here we are! A wonderful net where I can take in the sun's rays at their most potent and prime, each one of them a gift from God to His humble servant. This, dear Alexandru, is Beach Net!" Daybreak announced, as she transported herself from the Navi Shop into the mist-covered, eternally moist net space of Yoka. She looked to her left, her right, down, then up. Her one visible eye narrowed. "These clouds... has the taint spread even here, this land blessed so closely by God's loving sun!? Why can I not feel its rays?!" she raged, shaking one fist at the sky, which was mostly hidden by the dense, humid mist surrounding the area.
"... You got the wrong net. This is Yoka Net, not Beach Net," Marian pointed out, as Alexandru found himself unable to answer.
"... Hm. The vampires are clearly tampering with all traffic outbound from TempoMan's armory. I will have to inform him when next we meet," she responded dismissively, unwilling to admit her own mistake. She and her familiar, the giant, red-armored eye-ball that floated alongside her, both stared blankly into the mist. "... I do not see the devil's minions. They wisely gather their strength before beginning their attack."
"I learned in virus busting class that sometimes, you've got to move around and find the viruses. They sometimes mess around in one area together and if too many are messing around in one place, all kinds of stuff can happen, like refrigerators going out," Alexandru offered, eager to make a good impression on Marian's navi.
Marian's navi did not like being instructed, however, and returned a droll frown. "Alexandru, if that many hellspawn are gathered in one place, we have far greater worries than refrigerators," she retorted, taking a moment to make sure her hair was holding its horns despite the moisture in the air. Seeing that it was, she reset her smile, then set to walking.
------------------------------
Thankfully, it didn't take much walking before she came to find three figures hidden in the mist. Unluckily, she made the same assumption she always made when encountering any new acquaintances: "Vampires!" she whispered excitedly. "And of a higher rank than I had expected. Behold: their form fancy allows them to freely adopt the shapes of humans!" The huntress squinted and looked again. "Well... sort of like humans."
"Those look like navis," Alexandru pointed out.
"Did you hear what I just said? Form fancy! They've taken on the shape of navis to deceive you," the huntress sighed. "What are those teachers putting in that head of yours?" Refocusing her efforts she attempted to assess the vampire threat before moving in. "The armored one... he is clearly a senior officer in the Vampire's ranks. Judging by his advanced age, he must be extraordinarily cunning, to have survived and thrived so long. He is well protected and keeps a trained pet to further guard him. Yes... He can only be #13, Kennelmaster!" she informed the others. "His pet, of course, is a low ranking vampire, but a ranked one all the same. Judging by his seemingly obedient and docile nature, I place him as #238, the Sleeping Dog. Easy enough to handle, even in my current state. However, if I deprive the master of the dog, then it will only serve to enrage him. I must-" she began, before she felt her hairs standing on end, at the sound of a roar that really could be some kind of beast from hell.
"Alexandru, remember... If Daybreak encounters anything really dangerous, or does something stupid, like running towards something really dangerous, it's your responsibility as her operator to jack her out," Marian reminded her sun. Alexandru gulped and nodded.
"Dear God... that can only be the other beast! The far more dangerous #138, Howly Hell!" Daybreak exclaimed, pointing towards the source of the noise. By this point, the others would probably have noticed a strange woman somewhere in the distance, talking to herself.
"Really? That's his name, Howly Hell?" Marian asked, lowering her eyebrows. "Also kind of convenient that both dogs have the number thirty eight in their ranks. Kind of like you're just saying whatever the first thing is that pops into your head."
"Shh! We have no time for such nonsense... It is clear to me now that I must broker a truce with the vampires here if I am to leave with my life. If need be... well... let's just say, I've heard what Kennelmaster's beasts do to their toys," she spoke in a hoarse whisper, before raising her hands and approaching the group. For this situation, she'd have to play dumb; no calling Kennelmaster by that name to his face. She'd have to go with whatever pseudonym he chose to call himself instead. "Gentle traveler! I mean you no harm. You look like a man of some means, as it relates to protecting yourself and your animals. I ask that you call off your hungry beast, so that we can traverse this net together. We can be much safer against the ever present menace of... whatever lurks in the shadows. You'll see that my tools, the arm and eye, have many uses against foes of all sorts," the huntress explained, bending her red prosthetic down to her chest and pointing one finger to it, to indicate that it was her weapon. A smile lit her face, spread across her painted red lips, but it didn't look like the face of someone who wanted to tag along in a non-threatening capacity.
Her familiar floated away slowly to inspect GigaMan, whom it regarded as the most worthy of scrutiny, given that GigaMan was the only one that didn't seem to have a penchant for hugging.

Nightshade remained cuddled close to the elderly figure. A light reddish color would be spotted on the strip of his face that was still visible through both helmet and mask. The cat navi shyly shuffled around at Thomas' remarks. In all honesty, he was grateful to Regalia for helping him that much. With his tail still engaged in a slow happy wag, the little navi nodded...even though Thomas' question was aimed at his navi and not him.
"Alright then, I'll reserve a table just for us." Shane chimed in, sending the address of his pub at the new acquaintance: Electown. "Adam will surely love to meet you too."
Nightshade, still very much interested in hogging almost all of Regalia's attention and approval quietly waited for the knight to say anything. Or do anything. Or think of anything to do. He'd follow him around some more, he wanted to learn how to properly do battle stuff. Turning his eyes down he noticed his feet paws and open toad boots still partly submerged in the watery network. Rubberized amor was great for mobility, but the little navi was beginning to feel a little uncomfortable having his shin and feet drenched in water. "Regalia..." he chirped, a light tugging down on the navi's arm, "can we get somewhere more dry?" He asked while raising up one of his feet paws for the elderly navi to see. "My boots aren't waterproof."
It was at that moment that the two navis's peace and quiet was interrupted by a navi with a weird eyeball floating around...her? Them?
Nightshade's head tilted sideways. The navi spoke funny. The puzzled look on Nightshade's face didn't last long, however, as it was quickly replaced by very visible pouting. That's saying something, considering Nightshade's face was hidden under a mask all the way to the bridge of his nose at all times.
"I'm not an animal!" The little black cat like program childishly retorted. "She talks funny. I don't trust her." He complained to the elder navi. "And that eye thing creeps me." He added.
But it looked like their struggles weren't over. A new presence made itself known with a rather high volume shriek. Nightshade immediately hopped in front of Regalia with full intention of protecting his new and only friend to his death. *Shi-shink* and Nightshade's metallic claws deployed, ready for combat. Taking a good look at...whatever that aberration was...he didn't forget to keep on checking on the lady.
Judging by the guy's look it seemed like those prog viruses he read in ACDC's BBS. Old mr.Progs that had been corrupted by viruses and were now deviants. From the looks of it,navis could be corrupted too. The one roaring at them seemed heavily glitched with an uncanny resemblance to the old Life Virus defeated by that super strong navi with blue clothes...he couldn't remember his name.
"Nightshade, something wrong? Your heart rate spiked." Shane popped in again from the real world. The sound of glasses and other kitchen related noises could be heard going on in the background. He was preparing stuff for his imminent visitor.

As Regalia and Nightshade sorted themselves out from the previous battle, and the gruff, more experienced navi tried to deal with his unexpectedly affectionate new friend, they were interrupted by several chance encounters at once. Daybreak offered her greeting; GigaMan was less concerned with pleasantries. Before any of them could really get much out in the way of proper introductions however, an age old problem of the net caught up with them.
One navi alone rarely attracted much attention, but the more that grouped together, the more of a hot-spot for virus activity they became. It was an odd, yet frightfully reliable phenomena, and now with four combat-ready navis in close proximity to each other, this seemed to act almost like a beacon to the viruses in the area... first the kinds that were normally seen here, but then also some more unusual entities, disturbed and roused by the presence of so many navigator signatures at once.
A rumbled in the centre of the spring gave rise to a sudden plume of water as a very large stone Gaia statue, wielding an equally intimidating hammer rose up from the floor of the spring, where it had presumably been dormant. Along with the eruption, can a scattering of hot onsen over those nearest, and a green glimmer of light — a data crystal rolling away in the water just behind it. Two much smaller creatures had just shown up at the edges of the spring, and both of their eyes lit on the crystal at the same time. One was a fluffy Bandcoon, with grabbing paws eager to steal anything of value. The other was a rush. They both darted for the crystal, temporarily ignoring the navis, but the rush was quicker, scooping up the data and beginning to run from the scene that looked like it was almost certainly going to become a battle. The Bandcoon shook a tiny fist after it, frustrated. Further around the pool, a Shrimpy virus peeked up from the onsen, eyeing up the navis, and its apparent compatriots; it seemed just as surprised to see them as anyone else.
A second rumbling sensation followed the first as the smaller pool of tepid sea water also erupted with a splash, as a virus emerged almost right where GigaMan had been standing. He was faced, quite suddenly, with a gigantic jellyfish of a virus that floated and waved tendrils about. This bust of water also disturbed a metallic cube of some sort, which, as it rolled to a stop on the coals, turned out to be a rusty old Windbox that began to click and shudder, going through its start-up procedures slowly. It shook and vibrated as it tried to start, and out of seemingly nowhere, a Snoozy virus warped in to nestle on top of it, smile happily and fall to sleep.
With viruses teeming in from seemingly everywhere, even the sky wasn't clear. Another of the wasp-like viruses zipped in, stinger presented, from behind them, to the south, while further off, from the east, a metallic screech rent the air. At a glance, it seemed to be a large hawk of some sort, but as it flew closer, the virus turned out to be much further off than it first seemed, and much faster as well. In seconds it drew closer, a second threatening screech tearing across the field; the virus was actually fairly huge. Lastly, for now at least.... a small brown and blue speck could be seen coming towards them from a high angle, from the north. It was leaving a trail behind it in the air, and seemed to be falling almost at re-entry speeds. the sharpest eyes would identify the dopey, vacant expression of a Mudfeesh, flicking mud behind it as it flew..? Fell..? ...towards the spring at high velocity. How did it even get up there?
-=Converging Viruses=-
BandcoonBandcoon (Bandcoon)
Bandcoons are gray raccoon-like creatures, around 30 inches in height. They possess black stripes around their body, aside from their short, almost stub-like legs. Their faces are usually unseen, as they're covered in a red mask with string decorations. Their tails are twice as long as their actual bodies, and are usually curved into a question mark shape. At first this may seem like a simple design choice, but the tail is actually prehensile, and Bandcoon cleverly use it to steal chip data from Navis. Bandcoons' speed and small size combine to make them surprisingly difficult to hit while moving, and are even agile enough to turn sharply with little problem. However, if caught standing still, they're practically sitting ducks. However, when they're not using chips, they always prefer to move when possible. Their main tactic is to roll around and confound the enemy with their speed, then move in and swipe them with their tail, using it like a hook to grab data not directly tied to them, namely Battlechips. They can then use it themselves, at reduced power, as a free action. All other effects of the chips still apply, including pre-requisites to use the chip (i.e. Spice still needs Grass terrain, MachineSword still requires that the enemy be stunned). Higher level Bandcoon are aware of such conditions, and will try to satisfy the requirements if at all possible. If the enemy has no Battlechips, Bandcoons get extremely aggravated, and will ram an enemy in anger and desperation. However, they severely dislike doing this, and will only use this attack as a last resort for when they have no chips.
Area: Yoka, Okuden Valley, Netopia, Yumland
HP: 60
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: Chip Steal + 1/3 Chip Use
Primary Attack Accuracy: B
Primary Attack Description: Bandcoon steals a single random chip the opponent has selected this turn. They then use the chip at 1/3 of its normal power, rounded down to the nearest 5. Recovery chips still work at full power.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: 10 Null + Impact
Secondary Attack Accuracy: A
Secondary Attack Description: If Bandcoon cannot steal an attacking chip for any reason, they will instead roll into an enemy.
Element: Null
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): Pickpocket (Rare), Zenny
Special: Haste while moving (+10%). Double Slow while standing still (-20%).: 60Hp [Onsen][North end of the spring]
ElebeeElebee (Elebee)
Elebee viruses move and dodge at a high rate of speed, and they are fully flight capable. Elebee viruses attack by flying at their target at high speed, and delivering an electric sting. This type of virus may opt to stop short of the target, and veer sharply in a new direction to avoid an attack. This requires the expenditure of a second action, but occurs very rapidly regardless. Movement and attacking are one and the same with regards to this virus, thus physical contact with them causes damage. Elebees can see through Invis.
Area: Electown, NAXA
HP: 90
Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Elec + Seeking
Attack Accuracy: B
Attack Description: Charges toward enemy to electrocute
Element: Elec
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): Arrow1, Zenny
Special: Flying.: 90Hp [High Altitude][South]
WindBoxWindBox (Wind & Fan)
All viruses in this family are immobile during combat, with the exception of being able to turn to face any direction it wishes. Later versions of this virus may switch between Wind and Fan effects, which requires one action, during which time all wind or fan effects cease.
Special: Northwind effect to all enemies once per virus action while maintaining wind effect.: 100Hp [Coal][South of the side pool]
SnoozySnoozy (Snoozy)
Snoozy are about 2 feet tall, and are shaped like a white translucent blob of goo, forming a basic head, body, and arm, with the body trailing behind. The head has an oversized nightcap covering most of it, colored dark blue, with white dots as stars. The end of the nightcap has a hanging moon from it. The lone arm carries a thick white pillow by the corner, with some down leaking out of a tear. The coloring scheme of its main body changes with its version. Snoozier are red, and Snooziest are blue. A menacing black Snoozy DS has an additional feature of serrated teeth forming a giant jaw. EX forms are darker shades of their originals. Snoozy attack by flailing their white pillows around and spreading their apparent sleepiness around. They start their attack by teleporting up to their targets. The teleport counts as a dodge if utilized correctly. They then teleport back to their original spot, and do not move otherwise. They may use their secondary full-heal at any time, though they are more likely to do so when they are injured. Snoozy viruses only appear when there is cover to hide behind, and will stay behind this cover for the entirety of the battle except to attack. They will not appear otherwise. If their cover is destroyed, they will attempt to flee starting next turn if they do not have a specified object chip to be dispensed first.
Area: Yoka, Dentech, Sharo
HP: 60
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: (Teleport) then (Aqua 15 + Sleep)
Primary Attack Accuracy: C
Primary Attack Description: Teleports near an enemy, and whacks its pillow at them. Teleports back to original position shortly after.
Secondary Attack Effect: Self Recover Max + Self Status Cure Max + Self Sleep (1)
Secondary Attack Accuracy: S
Secondary Attack Description: Goes to sleep, and recovers from all of its ailments and injuries. This attack may be used at any time, even when status effects would usually deny it, except for Sleep. This attack has a one turn cooldown after the virus wakes up.
Element: Aqua
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): Pillow1, Zenny
Special: Will not attack sleeping targets.: 60Hp [On top of WindBox]
TinHawk V1TinHawk V1 (TinHawk)
TinHawk is a combination of the Fishy, Genin, and Typhoon viruses. It appears to be a large, dark brown bird, with razor sharp wings and short but thick legs and feet. As one might expect, it prefers to attack by swooping in and overwhelming foes with its size, repeatedly tearing foes with its claws, and by creating mighty gusts of wind with its wings. But it does have yet another trick for the unwary...
Area: All
HP: 250
Element: Null
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 15 Null + Impact + Piercing + Line Attack(5)
Primary Attack Accuracy: C
Primary Attack Description: Swoops down and through a straight path.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: (10 Null x 3 Hits) + Homing + NorthWind + Wind Type
Secondary Attack Accuracy: C
Secondary Attack Description: Creates a small whirlwind that hunts down its target. Blows away barriers and auras on contact.
Tertiary Attack Damage/Effect: 10 Null x 3 hits + Slashing
Tertiary Attack Accuracy: B
Tertiary Attack Description: Flies down to a target, and repeatedly claws the foe with its powerful talons.
Special: OmniShoes

Suddenly, Regalia felt his hand suqeezed tightly by something...well...someone. Nightshade was staring at the sea of viruses. assoulting their position. It looked like the little navi was somewhat scared. His tail was trembling lightly. Occasionally glancing up to Regalia, but trying to avoid eye contact, Nightshade immediately transferred his speed over to his friend. He did not want to let Regalia know he was scared of those viruses. Shane had just returned from outside his pub with all the useful stuff to welcome Thomas in style. "Hey Nightshade! I got you some Upgrades!"
The rush of power almost startled the navi. Apparently he could push for even faster speeds now. "Regalia, I..." he mumbled, before shaking his head. He wondered if all the affection he showed was making him look weird in the knight's eyes. They did just meet a few hours ago and he was already in onto the hugs and hand holding. But really, there was nothing he could do. He yearned for the navi's attention. Regalia seemed ready to protect him with his life like he had demonstrated earlier, so he would do the same. He would make sure his friend never got hurt. He needed to keep his cool. "Nevermind. Let's take down these viruses. I'll take care of that fleeing one with that GMD. I got the speed to reach it now. Just watch my back for a moment. I get in, grab that GMD and get out of that group in time for your devastating attacks to connect."
With that said, Nightshade ceased his hand holding (Albeit slightly annoyed, it seemed he had been enjoying it alot.) and literally flew at the Rush about twice as fast as he was before, dribbling all the other viruses before they could even realize. Keeping mobile, Nightshade spun in himself to stamp his feet paw right in the Rush's back. Can't run anywhere with a broken spine now, can you?

Regalia scarcely had enough time to so much as reply to the newcomers, one screaming, one misidentifying. Why did it seem he always attracted the weird ones? First SoapMan, then Nightshade with the hugging... this newest one made them both look par for the course. Looking at the wave of viruses that had shown up, Regalia opened his mouth to give Nightshade some advice, only to watch the catlike navi go scampering off into the fray. He grumbled under his breath, holding out a hand as a visual gesture. Code executed within him, defensive and stalwart, and then it launched from his fingertips to clad Nightshade's hands in thick, protective gauntlets, granting the navi a pop-out tower shield whenever he felt the need.
With that done, the older knight surveyed the battlefield. "Quite a lot of them..." He muttered to himself, looking over the viruses' ranks. "Any ideas, Thomas?"
"I think we should observe for now. I've never seen some of these viruses before, and while the info-reader's working just fine, these descriptions of their attacks aren't filling me with confidence. Regenerating auras, chip counters... not to mention that... flying... mudfeesh?"
"I am fairly certain it is falling, not flying." Regalia said, tilting his head as he looked.
"Regardless, just stay on your toes for a bit. Give them a little room to work, and we'll respond accordingly." Thomas shook his head.
"Roger." Regalia took up a ready stance, prepared to leap out of the way of danger.

You can tell he's a simple creature, not hiding his true feelings," Daybreak scoffed internally, smiling in an annoyingly smug way about nothing apparent. Still, his animal senses couldn't be denied; he was right not to trust her. He was also... "On closer inspection, this is not the Sleeping Dog. This boy is feline, not lupine. But... I must determine his true identity before I reveal that to Dru and Marian," she resolved, really just not wanting to admit that the vampires she thought conformed so perfectly to her list really didn't match at all. "And now that I'm looking at him a little closer, I don't think that Howly Hell is an animal at all... Although he does look feral..."
Speaking of feral, dangerous things, the more pressing concern than the high vampires figuring out her scheme was the attack of their minions, which blindly approached master and enemy alike to attack. Normally, she'd spare them little thought, but it seemed they were amassing here in huge numbers... not only that, but tearing apart the very net itself as they emerged. "The size of them! It is not unlike the vampires to sacrifice as many as their pawns as they need just to maintain a disguise, but isn't this going overboard?!" she cursed internally, watching virus after virus cut through the mist.
"H-H-Holy cow! I've never seen any viruses like that in class!" Alexandru stuttered, trying to find his best chips to slot them in right away and finding himself unable to make a pinch decision. It didn't help that he barely recognized the pictures on them.
Seeing his distress, Marian scooted up next to him, putting on her glasses and focusing on her PET screen for her step-son's sake. The other navis had already entered combat routines and were mostly supporting each other, as was to be expected... Daybreak was a stranger, and a very suspicious acting one at that. "Do you see that, Daybreak?" she asked, lowering her eyebrows.
"Yes... just what is the relationship between those two? Are they master and servant, or is he actually the old man's pet after all?" Daybreak asked quietly, placing her prosthetic hand against her cheek and putting on a tense expression.
"No, Stupid! I'm saying they're supporting each other. If you look at how much they're focusing on defense, that gives you a clue of how you're going to need to behave to avoid an embarrassing jackout in front of Alexandru," Marian responded, irritably grabbing Daybreak chips while thinking that she wouldn't mind watching the navi make a fool of herself in combat. "The first step is defense. We'll use the new FastEscape Chip. For a battle this large, it'll be best to play it safe, so I'm only slotting you in one chip right now. Alexandru: which is the first virus that should be attacked?"
"I think it's the Windbox, because it'll be too hard to fight if it blows all of our navis around," Alexandru posited.
Marian gave him a few pats on the shoulder, then smiled. "Very good. Now Daybreak-"
The huntress had plans of her own, and they involved lighting up like a lightbulb, shooting rays like a strobe light from both her eyeball and her own arm and eyepatch. "Ho, vampires! Redouble your despicable efforts upon attacking the most fearsome fighter in this contest: me!" she boasted, raising her arms above her head and thrusting her chest out, which was a cocky pose, but also smacked of trying to curry some kind of ill behavior other than violence. She stopped just short of referring to herself as a vampire huntress or calling her weapons "tools of God," either of which would have spelled out more clearly her role as bane of all vampires.
Almost any attack that could come at her would be met with the same aggravating result: her body and her familiar's would solidify into red shards like her arm, then crumble into pieces, emitting a burst of light that faded to nothing. Simultaneously, another blast of light would shine out next to the Windbox on the south side of the battlefield, with her arm reaching out to tear a hole in space, not unlike the one in her eye. She climbed through, along with her familiar, then pointed her prosthetic claw towards the Windbox. The arm's surface heated up, then out from the cracks, not light, but this time, fire, shot out, engulfing her arm. The fingers split apart, then the palm, wrapping around her wrist; in a flash, a plume of fire was released, leaving the arm towards its close range targets. With any luck, they'd be engulfed and burned to ashes, especially given that the coals were contributing heat beyond her usual temperature. With bad luck, she might instead get a pillow in the face and end up having sweet dreams on the coals... for a few seconds, before a hammer tremor shot her a few feet into the air.
Her bravado mostly disappeared as she prepared to run from any stray bubbles. The smirk was on her face, but she wouldn't be much of a vampire huntress if she didn't recognize the danger that a giant jellyfish posed to her longevity. Still, if she managed to take out two viruses in one attack, she figured that would go a long way in getting the other two to accept her as one of their own... long enough for her to drive a claw into their backs, anyway.

Whatever had gripped at GigaMan's concise just moments ago seemed to have dissappeared as the viral persona regained control over his body and suppressed whatever was going on. He sniffed, the smell of three navi's and many viruses floated around the surrounding area. GigaMan's new personality wasn't exactly the friendly type, as seen before when the gift giver had popped in to give him the GMD. Behind the visor, his eyes bounced from left to right as he tried to get a read on the battle, when Julius's voice finally chimed in. "GigaMan what's going on with you? You collapsed and howled."
"Nothing you need to concern yourself with human. Time to focus. I count thirteen enemies in the area."
"Thirteen..... No, you mean ten. We will not engage other Navi's." Julius countered.
"There is no we! I'm here, you are there. You give me chips and make me stronger, in turn I make you money."
"What you don't understand is friends or allies is it's on source of power. I bet whatever happened to you back in the day was the result of someone who had lots of friends."
The operators last statement may have struck a cord, because the Navi chose not to respond directly. "Send me the TwinFang, and the DashAttack, then leave me alone." Julius grunted and slotted in the requested chips, then sat back and watched GigaMan put his plan into action. His body blasted forward towards the Shrimpy virus. As he moved he was enveloped in a golden light that took it's usual shape of a Fishy head. The light vanished as GigaMan either passed through, made its way passed the target, probably bringing him somewhat closer to the other three Navigators.
One more sweep across the battlefield with his eyes, a quick movement to hopefully dodge any incoming attacks that might head his way. He fired off the first of his two loaded fangs. It left the cannon blaster in his right palm and sped towards the thief like Bandcoon virus, hopefully before it could perform any mischievous activities. The second of the two fangs was held for just a moment, ensuring that the falling Mudfeesh had became grounded. Once it was so, GigaMan fired off the projectile looking to go three for three in enemy deletions for now.

The time for introductions had passed, and the time for fighting was upon the assorted collection of navis who had happened upon one another at this particular spring. As they individually sized up the suddenly dangerous situation, Regalia provided some defence for his ally and, with an experienced eye, waited. Few others thought to wait around, on either side of the melee, however. The massive statue in the middle of the spring hefted its hammer high even as a covering of swirling bubbles coated the equally over-sized jelly virus. The sledge threw its weapon at the pair of navis most clearly in its sight, but Nightshade was already darting away past it, and the hammer struck the onsen spring with a boom of sparks that fizzled away before they could deal any damage to Regalia, nearby.
Before anything else on the battlefield could make a move, a vast rushing sound filled everyone's ears, and the jelly virus dropped low for a moment, sending a white-crested wave of seawater out from itself as it splashed into the side-pool that it hovered above. The wave grew and spread, creating more and more water as it went, until it had completely flooded the area out and left everyone knee-deep in briny sea-water. For the most part, everyone managed to keep their footing and avoid taking any harm from the sudden flood, though the rather immobile windbox suffered a bad splash that didn't seem to agree with its air intake at all. The snoozy murmured something and rolled over on top of the windbox.
GigaMan, meanwhile, had been lining up the large statue with his other aims to delete the shrimpy virus, across the way from him, but as he made his dash, the suddenly deeper water threw him off, just a little. He zipped past the sledge without connecting, but still managed to hammer soundly into the shrimp virus beyond, deleting it before it could attack back. Far above, with a hunting screech, the massive brown hawk fixed on GigaMan as he came out of his dash, flying closer and beating its wings to create a violent whirlwind. It travelled down towards the not-exactly symbiotic navi, but GigaMan moved aside easily enough. The whirlwind curled, however, arcing across the foaming sea water to begin returning to him again.
On the far side of the now-drowned, Daybreak was still assessing, or so it seemed, but as the hornet virus darted in, thinking to catch the vampire huntress unawares, her contingency plan sprung; what looked like it should have been a vicious barb to the back saw her discorporate in her rather unique manner and re-emerge behind her real target, the hasslesome windbox and its napping snoozy on top. The fires of judgement burned for the small machine and the sleeping virus above it, extinguishing them both.
NightShade had darted across the spring, past the other viruses, in an attempt to chase down the rush virus. As he raced past the bandcoon, the critter attempted to leap at him, catching on and frisking him over with tiny dexterous paws. It kind of tickled, actually, and it certainly didn't hurt, though the bandcoon sounded increasingly frustrated as it failed to find any incumbent chip data on its target. for his own part, Nightshade made an effort to strike the Rush as it tried to flee with their prize — it had actually done a good job of keeping the data crystal out of harm's way from the sudden flash flood, and continued to dart away from Nightshade's stamping claws.
The Sledge raised an arm in the middle of the now sea-washed lake and its hammer reappeared in its fist with another small thunder crack and a shower of sparks. It held still like that for just a moment, then brought the weapon slamming down into the water at its base. An electric shock-wave danced across the water's surface and few managed to escape the spreading electricity this time; Nightshade managed to leap up as the sparks rolled past, but everyone else took a jolt. Even nightshade wasn't quite safe form what happened as the wave faded, however; an after shock and a rumble of thunder preceded a storm of small lighting bolts that struck down from the sky at just about everything on the field that wasn't shaped like a sledge. None of the navis managed to avoid this one, though many of the viruses were also zapped as well.
One who was spared the lightning bolts was the Tsunami, who, having happily turned the surrounding land to sea, now began pelting bubble attacks at the navis nearest to it. In this particular case, that meant that its main attack was directed at Regalia, and though he managed to avoid a couple of them, two small pulses struck the older knight. As each set of bubble streams hit him, the split off and spread in different directions, fanning our across the water; one of the splashing streams hit Giga in the back, while another splashed Daybreak, further along.
The hawk virus began to dive once it drew close enough, and with another loud and piercing screech it dropped into a blistering swoop that singled out Nightshade and crashed past it. thankfully, Regalia's shield took the blow for him, but the force of the massive bird thundering past was something like being hit by a truck. It arced at the end of its swoop, turning back to survey the field as it flapped for more height.
As this was happening, GigaMan was eyeing up other targets, and made quick work of the bandcoon just as it fell away from Nightshade, frustrated. The second shot, he timed carefully, watching the odd mudfeesh descend. The virus was plummeting at a great speed, face first and with a broad, vapid grin on its face. Flecks of mud flew out behind it and it almost seemed to have some kind of re-entry aura trailing around it as it dropped. Just as it impacted with the water, GigaMan released his second shot. The impact alone should probably have killed the virus, and the shot punched into the thrown up splash wave, which quickly spread into a broad pool of mud amidst the water. There was no sign of the mudfeesh though... had it been deleted? It was difficult to tell, but it certainly seemed to be gone.
As the more experienced and tactically-minded combatant, Regalia had consciously bided in the opening moments of the engagement, waiting for a specific moment, and just as the splash from the mudfeesh settled, it came; that small window of time, just after a battle is joined, when most of the fighters have made their first gambits and expended their first brief rushes of action. The moment opened up almost like a stillness that gave the knight the space he needed to act decisively where he could be most effective.
Double Slow while standing still (-20%).: 20Hp [Sea][North Central]
Special: Flying.: 80Hp [Over Sea][South]
WindBoxWindBox (Wind & Fan)
All viruses in this family are immobile during combat, with the exception of being able to turn to face any direction it wishes. Later versions of this virus may switch between Wind and Fan effects, which requires one action, during which time all wind or fan effects cease.
Special: Northwind effect to all enemies once per virus action while maintaining wind effect.: DELETED
Special: Will not attack sleeping targets.: DELETED

Regalia has 3 Actions remaining

Double Slow while standing still (-20%).: 20Hp [Sea][North Central]

Attack Accuracy: B
Attack Description: Charges toward enemy to electrocute

WindBoxWindBox (Wind & Fan)
All viruses in this family are immobile during combat, with the exception of being able to turn to face any direction it wishes. Later versions of this virus may switch between Wind and Fan effects, which requires one action, during which time all wind or fan effects cease.
Special: Northwind effect to all enemies once per virus action while maintaining wind effect.: DELETED

Regalia has 3 Actions remaining
last edited by
It was like time was slowing down. Regalia had waited patiently, watching, biding his time. He'd taken a few licks for his trouble, cuts and gashes in his armor that he didn't have the time to patch up. Not yet. His feet started moving, and at first it seemed he was moving away from the battle, fleeing like some sort of coward. That could not be farther from the truth. In watching the viruses, in seeing how they had attacked him and his allies, Regalia had picked out the three that were the most dangerous, the three that he felt needed to go down now. He spoke through his open channel to Thomas as he got into position, feet splashing noisily with each step. He could still feel the rush Nightshade had given him, the quickness waiting to be unleashed...
Time slowed.
"Thomas, I want to try something." The older navi spoke. "It may not work, it may fail spectacularly, but the payoff is too high not to chance it."
"What's the odds?" Thomas asked.
"Three of our strongest chips." Regalia said.
"...And the targets?" Thomas was leaning closer to the screen now. Regalia had pulled some amazing bullshit off in the time he'd been Thomas's navi, and the collegiate never failed to be entertained by it.
"The three metaviruses." Regalia said, turning to face them. He'd positioned himself at the southeast of the battlefield, with all three of the big fat targets lined up. Time slowed.
"Tell me what you need." Thomas's hand was already reaching toward his chips.
"DashAttack." Regalia eyed the angle again, making sure. "AirSword." He added. "...AreaGrab."
"Need me to get some bread while I'm filling out this shopping list?" Thomas tried to joke, but Regalia didn't respond; the salty knight was too busy running the angles in his head, figuring out the timing. One after the other the chips flowed into Regalia's code as Thomas slotted them in. On Regalia's left hand, something vaguely Fishy-shaped, like a shield or a battering ram took shape. Thrusters formed on the back of it, already pre-firing as they prepared to rocket him forward.
Time slowed.
Regalia's cane, held in his right hand, began to splinter and crack in a familiar way; light poured out as the wood broke off, the winds across the battlefield stirring again. It would've been easy to mistake it for the Windbox having survived, or for the TinHawk to have been up to something... but soon the scattered winds began to gather. Light filled the space where Regalia's cane once was, and the knight held the sword before him, inspecting the glaring, swirling shape. The blade was formless and yet solid, too bright to beheld; yet despite the bright light it cut a clear shape, a figure rendered in stencil, carved out of the viruses it cut. Regalia wound his arm back, pulling the sword with it as though he was going to smite the ground before him.
Time slowed.
Every virtual muscle in Regalia's body tensed. He felt the winds lapping against him, threatening to shred him if they weren't unleashed; he felt the fishy-castoff in his left hand, just on the barest edge of control. It was like having his fingers on two very, very sensitive triggers, and trying to solve calculus while scribbling down notes of trigonometry. The knight's face curled into a scowl as he focused, focused, focused. In his mind he test-swung the blade, in his memory he reached for how it felt to move it, how it felt to swing it. One miss, and the plan would not work 'as well'. One mistake, and the plan wouldn't work at all. His allies needed him. These newcomers needed him. Regalia was surprised to find the thought entering his head, but... Nightshade needed him as well, didn't he? He recalled how the catlike navi had used his shield to block that attack. He recalled how much the little cat seemed to look up to him. It was awkward, it was embarrassing, but yet... but yet...
Time stopped.
Regalia's arm moved forward, like the second hand betraying the moment. The AirSword dragged with it, expending its first of two charges as it swung in a wide, overhead arc. The blade moved until it was thrust skyward, until it had just started to tip forward, until it was thrust just above the horizon before Regalia-
-and then the knight launched forward. The jets on the DashAttack roared to life, and a sonic boom cracked the air as Regalia launched, moving fast enough to create a drag-trail on the water in his wake. Wide swing and forward stab, dash attack and sword thrust, it was like the navi was jousting with a horizontal swing, using the momentum of the DashAttack to drag out the last few moments of the Widesword's arc. Behind Regalia his cape flared, dragged by the wind- and then he discarded it, the cloth turning to lightning that trumpeted his advance. In mere moments the knight had gone from a mere swordfighter to a charging cavalier, riding a beast of lightning.
He shot like a bullet toward the Tsunami, and the thunder he rode cracked and sparked, lurching ahead of him as it sought the Tsunami's barrier. A loud BOOM echoed out as Regalia's blade discharged, trying to cleave the Tsunami, trying to stab it and ram it all in one motion. The effort of the impact threatened to throw Regalia off course, the sword and the DashAttack trembling in each of his hands. The navi gripped them both tighter, willed his body to still, willed his posture to stay straight.
Approaching the center of the area, the Sledge was his next target; huge, lumbering and heavy, he couldn't simply batter or bash it aside, no-- the navi would have to let the DashAttack carry him through. Fighting the momentum, fueled by Regalia's own strength, the AirSword leveled a bit more, point aimed squarely at the Sledge in Regalia's path. The navi yelled, his voice somewhere between a battlecry and a scream of frustration, and with another BOOM the sword discharged again.
Regalia's feet were forced to drag in the water to correct himself this time; the DashAttack threatened to tear away from his grip, and the Widesword was getting close to the end of its swing no matter how he wished for more. Was it Regalia or the wind that was howling now? Pain ran through both of the navi's arms, stressed by the insanity of the tactic he was using, the insanity of stretching a wide-style swing across an entire battlefield. But he didn't stop, couldn't stop. The elder knight managed to level his path, managed to aim it back toward the TinHawk. It was a race, now. The AirSword was thrust straight forward, not even inches away from the end of its arc. Regalia closed on the TinHawk, driven by the DashAttack, but so too did the AirSword close in on the end of the arc. Virus or sword, virus or sword, which would hit him first? Worse, this wasn't the end of it.
He couldn't even blink.
The third and final BOOM echoed out as the AirSword released the last of its first charge. Regalia's arm whipped behind him, unable to keep pushing against the winds gathering in the sword. They were a wall of sound now, a gale larger than the knight and twice as oppressive. Unable to lift his arm against the wind, Regalia instead swung downward and disappeared.
The battlefield was quiet, trapped in the moment the knight had created. What felt like seconds passed, feeling like minutes to Regalia, and then he reappeared exactly where he'd started the run. The Airsword shrieked like a woman possessed as it dragged against the water, wind and waves colliding violently, but just as Regalia approached the Tsunami again, the knight managed to raise the swing of the sword before him. Just like the first charge, the blade's arc extended across the battlefield, but this time it extended from below to above. BOOM went the sword as he crossed paths with the Tsunami. BOOM went the sword as he met the Sledge- but then the DashAttack began to peter out, the thrusters sputtering, failing. Regalia's frustrations and fears ran through his mind as he stared at the TinHawk, his blade still mid-arc. Was this it? Was this as far as he went?
The knight could feel himself starting to fall, no longer carried by the chip... and then green sparked in the thrusters. The DashAttack roared to life, moving faster, moving harder, practically throwing Regalia at the TinHawk. The navi's eyes widened as he remembered the hand-squeeze the catlike navi had given him before. The power in his legs, the feeling that he could go anywhere... that's what the DashAttack was burning now, dragging him toward the TinHawk. Before there had been question, there had been room to doubt whether it was sword or navi that was howling; now all the participants could hear Regalia's voice, could hear the shout of his fury as his sword arced toward its final target.
BOOM.

Nightshade watched in amazement as Regalia pulled of something he couldn't even have imagined possible. Shane was impressed at the complex plan...and at something else. "Nightshade, did you see that?" He asked. "...Mh hm..." The navi nodded. "Amazing uh? So that's the true power of Regalia.exe. I am glad he is on our side." The man casually observed. "You made an incredibly amazing friend."
"...He's moving like I do."
"Uh?" Shane snapped. "What do you mean he's moving like you do?"
Nightshade looked down at his hands, now coated in Regalia's code. Seeing as the navi was staring down at his improved gauntlets, Shane chuckled. "Was it because of the hand squeeze from earlier?" The man observed, amused by Nightshade's flabbergasted behavior. "M-maybe. I just...wanted to share the little power I have with him...and maybe it worked better this time. I...didn't think it would do that much."
Shane chuckled loudly, having to sit down for a moment. "Well, he did tell you about it no? Power isn't absolute. It's how well you use it. I dare say he styled on them pretty hard right here and now."
Noticing his partner was somewhat distressed by the trick he had attempted, Nightshade's systems jerked to life again. Regalia's code flowed through the feline navi's body. It mixed with Nightshade's own, the feeling somewhat natural. Exploding outwards in a burst of speed the cat like navi immediately zipped all the way to Regalia, only stopping once between him and the viruses. It was...a reflex, something he didn't really think about. He was out to catch a rush and secure a GMD...but a clump of data wasn't worth the life of a friend. Especially Regalia's. Instinctively cuddling closer to the old Navi, Nightshade took a moment for his eyes to meet his friend's. A silence of a thousand words, Nightshade's look was a worried one, slightly panicked even. Under that first layer, though, deep ammiration. If Regalia wasn't Nightshade's idol before, he definitely was now. A beacon of strength. A true knight in shining armor. He didn't want the old knight to strain that hard for him, though. He didn't want him to risk his life for his reckless rushing.
Holding Regalia's hand tight once again, Nightshade growled at the viruses. Transitioning into somewhat of a defensive stance that somehow had little Regalia flavor to it, the cat navi would assault anything trying to come even close to his friend. No one would be allowed to hurt him.
A warm smile crept in Shane's expression. He wasn't sure at first, but it looked like Nightshade already deeply cared for Regalia to the point of irrationally get overdefensive. Regalia was more than capable to defend himself while aslo taking care of the speedy little cat that had the luck of meeting him in a random trip to Yoka. Well...they say the best kind of friendships are the fierce kinde where you aggressively believe in each other, defend eachother and think the other deserves the world. So far, it looked like all the above points were present. Well...as far as Nightshade was concerned. The little navi showed no sign of wanting to move away from the knight at all.

Waiting to pick a moment when he could try to get the most out of his resources, Regalia's daring and risky manoeuver progressed at a blinding pace while that single still moment collapsed in on itself. By the time he came to a final halt, the last of his momentum spent and the razor-edged AirSword fragmenting away in his grasp, the aftershock of his motions came in a rumble of sound that saw the three dominant viruses begin to break apart where they had each been soundly ruptured. The other three had all been busy with their combat activities and the blistering moment had come and gone more or less in the blink of an eye or two, but by the time each of them managed to look around at the sound, it was clear at least that the older knight had pulled off something particularly impressive.
From his own perspective, Regalia had to know that for all his careful consideration and finely honed discipline, a good deal of fortune and fates had to have smiled on him as well, when it counted; it probably wasn't something he'd be able to pull off again any time soon, chances were, but for the moment it had to feel very satisfying to see the results of his gambit. The remaining viruses seemed mostly like sitting targets now that the three major hitters in the fight had been so ruthlessly dispatched.
Double Slow while standing still (-20%).: DELETED

WindBoxWindBox (Wind & Fan)
All viruses in this family are immobile during combat, with the exception of being able to turn to face any direction it wishes. Later versions of this virus may switch between Wind and Fan effects, which requires one action, during which time all wind or fan effects cease.
Special: Northwind effect to all enemies once per virus action while maintaining wind effect.: DELETED
Special: Will not attack sleeping targets.: DELETED

ShrimpyShrimpy (Shrimpy)
Shrimpy viruses are able to move between attacks as a free action, however dodging still costs them an action. They must pause movement to attack. Shrimpy viruses may move over fragile panel types without damaging them, such as moving over Cracked panels without breaking them. Shrimpy viruses cannot be forcibly submerged or smashed through fragile panels, even if thrown. They can submerge of their own free will, however.

Element: Aqua
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): Bubbler, Zenny

Tsunami V1Tsunami V1 (Tsunami)
Tsunamis are a combination of the Shrimpy, Nautilus, and Jelly viruses. These viruses mainly look like larger Jelly viruses with longer tentacles that work more like arms than the vestigial limbs on a Jelly do. These viruses point towards an enemy with their tentacles when they attack with bubble shots, strike the ground with them to summon waves, or actually throw the geyser bomb for their geyser attack with them.

Double Slow while standing still (-20%).: DELETED
Special: Flying.: 80Hp [Over Sea][South][Reconsidering their life choices]
WindBoxWindBox (Wind & Fan)
All viruses in this family are immobile during combat, with the exception of being able to turn to face any direction it wishes. Later versions of this virus may switch between Wind and Fan effects, which requires one action, during which time all wind or fan effects cease.
Special: Northwind effect to all enemies once per virus action while maintaining wind effect.: DELETED
Special: Will not attack sleeping targets.: DELETED
TinHawk V1TinHawk V1 (TinHawk)
TinHawk is a combination of the Fishy, Genin, and Typhoon viruses. It appears to be a large, dark brown bird, with razor sharp wings and short but thick legs and feet. As one might expect, it prefers to attack by swooping in and overwhelming foes with its size, repeatedly tearing foes with its claws, and by creating mighty gusts of wind with its wings. But it does have yet another trick for the unwary...
Area: All

Nightshade would move himself closer at Regalia while still keeping a firm hold of the navi's hand. If it weren't obvious by his tail wildly going left and right, the little navi was dying to hug the elder knight and fanboy all over his amazing skills in virus busting. He really, really, REALLY wanted to hug. He wanted to stay even closer to what was now his guiding figure, his idol.
Wearing Regalia's armor was a nice thing. He could feel him from within his own code. And he felt so much more powerful while using it. The little feline could only fathom how cool would it be to wear the full thing. It would look stunning and would make him super strong no doubt. The tingly feeling of Regalia's code flowing in him was just too amazing for the little cat. Then, Nightshade's mind lit up.
"Thomaaas...Thomaaas!" The small feline whined for attention. "Can you make me a new outfit please?" He added, looking up. Shane took that moment to chime in. "Nighty, Thomas might be very busy with his studies. I am not sure he has the time to-"
"But I wanna be cool too!" Nightshade whined at his netop, pouting.
"...well then. If he wants to do that I'll pay for the development trouble you're giving him."
However, for how much Nightshade desired to match his mentor and friend in coolness, he couldn't deny that Regalia himself was the coolest guy ever. The knight soothed his spirit and upped his morale. He felt safe around him. He felt happy.
Noticing a few survivors, little Nightshade called for a ranged option. He would not separate from Regalia again. He made the poor navi risk his life way too much. While trying to share his energy, he used his free hand to throw an electic chakram at the remaining viruses.

GigaMan's first point of business was to attempt to get away from the incoming whirlwind that was leftover from the now deceased Tinhawk. A swift jump to the left would hopefully carry the Navi to safety. Then he and his operator were witnesses to some truly great virus busting from the knight like Navi Regalia, who managed to delete not one, or two, but all three of the powerful MetaViruses in a single combination attack. The viral possessed Navi was somewhat astonished by the feat.
"Now that was powerful don't you think GigaMan." Julius remarked. "We can do that to, if you'd stop being so damn stubborn.
"He wouldn't have stood a chance against me in my former glory..." The Navi hesitated... "Then again... You are correct. The knight is the strongest here. "I would like to stay, and see the extent of this Navigator's power." He looked at the other two Navi's that polluted the current area. "The cat, and girl over there are much closer too my current ability... They will probably just end up getting in the way." His voice was low, and probably meant to strictly be between himself and Julius. "Let's just finish this up, and move on."
Julius eyed the screen. What drove the virus possessing his Navi. Was it evil, or just afraid? A being seeking power for the sole purpose of survival. He felt like he was starting to understand the nature of the beast that had taken over his Navi, and maybe whatever had happened before the battle started, was his friend fighting back. Only time would tell. "I/m sending you a recovery chip, use it to refresh, and here is the DoubleNeedle also, use it to get rid of the bee."
GigaMan's body was showered in a golden light once more, once it vanished he would find that his wounds had been healed a good bit. Still wouldn't be one hundred percent though. He took a moment to line up the shot. Then with an outstretched right arm, he fired off two harpoon like projectiles, back to back. Like a dart flying towards a target like board, the weapons sliced through the air and looked to pierce the Elebee.

Daybreak felt exhilarated as she saw her maneuver come to its fruition: first, the successful evasion of the enemy's attack, then, the deletion of two viruses with one attack. Surely that would put her in good with the other vampires and prove her worth as an ally they could trust, putting her in the perfect position to destroy them later. "I only hope that I didn't come off as so powerful that they realize what a threat I am!" she thought to herself, holding up her chin haughtily... before a giant wave shook the battlefield, causing her to press her human hand against the surface of her familiar for stability and lose her usual graceful poise. "I think it's over... hm!?" she gasped, watching a tidal wave roar over the battlefield. There was no running away from it; she found herself carried by it like a tumbling child by its force. When the wave subsided, she was struggling up from the water with her hair damp, hanging all around her and out of its usual horn-shape. "Pfah! Alexandru, immediately, I must-!"
"Heal, right!" the child added in, then recoiled as she snapped back hard.
"No, I need to fix my hair, this very instant! I will look quite a fool in front of our va-" she began, then, realizing what she was saying, brought out her metal hand to cover her mouth and spoke around it, slightly muffled. "Valiant allies, I was saying. I must be presentable!"
"Not happening right now, Daybreak," Marian sighed. "Besides, take a look at that..." she gasped, watching Regalia literally fly across the battlefield, cutting apart the giant, hostile viruses like they were made out of tissue paper.
Daybreak's eyes widened in an uncharacteristically child-like look of awe as she observed the handiwork; it had been over too fast for her to catch, but the three viruses were nothing more than fragments of data now. "That can't be...!" she observed dumbly, feeling momentarily frustrated that her own achievements had been thus overshadowed, before refocusing on the positives of the situation. "Either the old man is actually a very capable vampire hunter, one of the last of the old guard, as supported by his advanced age... or... he's a wicked vampire doing his best to appear to be. One thing's for certain: he isn't Kennelmaster. To imagine that old fogey wielding a blade in such a manner as this is quite nonsensical. Indeed, this one appears to be very... spry," she murmured, smiling in a way that Marian didn't want her to around Alexandru.
"There's only a few left now... we should mop them up," Alexandru reminded her.
"Ah, yes, of course. Well... there's only so much I can do while I'm waterlogged here. But I'm sure I can help," she sighed. "Just the MarkCannon for now. I believe with that, my familiar and I can contribute easily enough," the vampire huntress instructed him, looking as dignified as she could as she used both her armored hand and her exposed one to try to brush away the curtain of damp hair from her head. Once she received the chip data, she pointed to the Rush, patting her bobbing Familiar once to get its attention. "Hey, over there. You take that one, I'll get this one," she instructed the sphere.
The eyeball rolled in the water, seeming lazy and not nearly as affected as she did, before blinking the opening in its metal three times. It then shot a spurt of superheated liquid out toward the Rush, where it might double up on the cat's attack. It was a remarkably unremarkable attack next to the others that had been thrown so far.
Seeming miffed about that and the general lack of sexiness with her current position, Daybreak grabbed hold of the ribbons around her neck and chest and pulled them tighter. Her face went from pouting to momentarily biting its lip as she pulled them harder and harder, slightly hidden by the part of her body that was submerged beneath the water... it hurt, but in a good way. What didn't feel good was the water around her... she acknowledged that the sea didn't mix well with her prosthetic, as she saw water sizzling off it and becoming steam. Once she was done tugging, she lifted her hand to the sky and aimed at the same bee that one of her other ally's was targeting. A thin, yellow beam emitted itself from her eye-patch like a targeting scope's laser, to try and catch the bee, before her hand shot a single solid beam. If it hit, she could probably count on the satisfying feeling of watching its wings speckle away from its broken body, but it was possible her ally's spike missiles would get it first.
At this point, the angry one and the cat were both enigmas... she'd seen well enough to know that they weren't as she originally anticipated. For one, they were a man and a cat-boy respectively, neither showing any dog-like features. "I will examine them more closely... once I escape this damnable vampire water!" she thought to herself, stewing as she flapped both arms to stay above water as well as she could, her heavy bosom occasionally popping above the surface, before she flubbed back down again. Only now did she realize her make-up had begun running as well, causing a look of panic to shoot across her face. "This net... is the worst!" she complained again, covering her mouth with one hand and rubbing away dripping mascara from her tan cheeks with the other.

"Regalia, are you alright?" Thomas's voice echoed as the knight landed, and for a moment he stopped, breathing and regaining his strength. The knight's cape reformed, billowing behind him, and with an unintentional flourish Regalia turned and rose. Striking a sturdy pose, the knight's breastplate broke off, a new copy appearing in the air around him. The metal plates smacked together, latching and clasping, and Regalia took a step forward as it began to reinvigorate him.
"I am quite fine." The knight said. "It looks like that trick worked out, despite the odds."
"It was amazing! You got all three of the Metaviruses at once! I don't think I've heard of anyone getting a triple-delete on those things before, at least not without things like timebombs." Thomas replied, scratching the back of his neck.
"All due to your operation." Regalia affirmed, looking the battlefield over. "Though it seems some viruses survived the onslaught."
Thomas's face appeared on-screen next to him. "Crap. Uh-- well, it seems the others have the Elebee handled... why don't we make sure the Rush can't escape with our loot?"
Regalia felt the chip flow into him; his cape faded away behind him, cloth replaced with a set of ten long, black, metal rods affixed to his shoulders; like a pair of wings they flipped up and forward, 5 to either side, and electricity began to crackle across each of them. Regalia took a look at the Rush across the field, steadying his stance as he tried to take aim at it. The levin streaking across the metal spires rose to their tips, forming a brace of glowing, crackling orbs; Regalia thrust his hand forward, finger pointed at the Rush, and one by one the orbs fired off at it, launching like missiles. Electricity jumped between them as they shot through the air, their ball-lightning structure slowly giving way as they accelerated, turning into bolts of light and fury. One after the other after the other they came to bear on the rush, filling the area with the sound of thunder clapping again and again.
Born from the tumult of the other Elec attacks, another lightning orb appeared as the leftover static gathered, homing in on the Rush virus...
