"Those water viruses seem to be immune to direct attacks. Give Maribel this chip and finish off those swarms."

Destin ordered before DragonierMan ran in the other direction, toward Maribel. Through the swarms and over the beaten terrain. And once he got close enough, he reached out to hand her some battlechip data. It was a WideSword. It was nice and sharp.

"It's dangerous out here, use this."

DM then spun around toward the swarms and held out his hands as if to stop their advance. Power built up inside of him quickly, the raw energy bleeding out of the joints in his armor, collecting in his palms. The following unleashed hail of energy blasts poured out toward his foes. It was a bullet storm.

He then interposed himself between Maribel and the enemy. Daring them to harm her with a bestial roar and a clawed stance. His cloak billowing behind him.

Despite him not giving any sign about that he was coming, Maribel heard the indelicate clopping of Dragonierman's movements coming closer to her. She turned and quickly noticed the data in his outstretched hand. Reaching out to meet him, she grabbed the data with the tips of her fingers. Both navi's quickly turned back to their respective foes.

As she felt the data, she understood the weapons type and properties. Squeezing the data into her fist, a large blade erupted from her hand. It looked more like a giant...knife...than the widesword it was supposed to be. All military Navis knew close quarters combat with knives. Swords? Not so much. So when it came time to summon her weapon, she defaulted to a shape she knew.

Raising the blade at the misty that failed to envelope her, she hoped that the lizard was right. If not, she was going to look very silly slashing at thin air; not to mention be completely left open to assault. She then began to lash out with the large knife, slicing both at it and its cousin near by, hoping that her blade would find something to strike in the loosely knit forms of the Mistys.

As the two navis ran off to take their own targets, the viruses was also ready to fight back as well. The Skeeters went off to strike DragonierMan as he ran towards Maribel, but his layers of defenses was able to ward them off. The Mistys, however, was much more lucky as it was able to land a solid hit on Maribel with their steaming fist. [-30]

Dragonier's rapid fire had shot down the two skeeters with no effort...But Maribel's Widesword attack just didn't do the job as it was only able to take down one of the two Misty viruses.

DragonierMan renewed his defenses and drew forth his own glowing sword, moving to flank the Misty virus. He first attempted to thrust the blade deep into the center of the cloud while it was distracted. Failing that he grabbed the blade with both hands and slashed across the body of the virus in a wide arc, trying to separate the Misty's upper torso from its lower half. Then he performed an 'X-Slash' from the upper left to lower right, then from the upper right to the lower left. Hopefully one such sword stroke would find purchase.

Reeling back a bit from the hit she took, she hams it up when she notices Dragonierman move in to flank. "You hit me you vacuous virus! But I see right through you! And I see -"She raises her widesword up to the Misty. "That guy behind you with a sword!" she shouts while making a quick slash with the last charge of her sword.

Dashing back, she forms a small syringe in her hand and jabs it into her leg. The pain from the Misty's attack vanished quickly.

DragonierMan's hand glowed with an awesome power as he assimilated the MistConvergence1. It was also one of the chips that Destin wanted, so it worked out pretty well. Though he was also pleasantly surprised about the abundant zenny drops, for he had plenty of purchases planned out. He opened a vid-window to Russel as DragonierMan began flexing.

"So, how are you enjoying this little stroll? By the way what time is it?..."

He looked at his watch. It was golden in color, even though it wasn't actually made of any gold, and digital. It had the month and day, but not year, displayed in the upper corner. A band ran underneath that showed the day of the week (sun/mon/tues/etc). Under that was the time in hours, minutes, and seconds.

"Huh, it's been over an hour. Did you have anything planned for today? Just wondering if you had the time to continue."
'Yes, we must go! I have a feeling that something is going to come up and we might be out of communication range for a little while. Farewell, lizardman. Let's do this again some time~" Maribel answered in place of Russel, who had forgotten how to respond in line.

With a wink and a bow, the blue navi faded out of the net, leaving the lizard behind.

DragonierMan waved off the pretty girl. Then adjusted his gauntlets.

"Let's continue. I feel like we are getting close to a real opponent."

He said with a smirk as he plodded off to do more battle.

Venturing further into the Yoka network, DragonierMan quickly found himself meeting up with a few viruses that were probably just sort of hanging around before he got around to them. Some dumb-bell shaped Heavy rolled around the area. Upon spotting DragonierMan, they directed their movement towards him, obviously showing an intent to fight.

DragonierMan whipped his cloak away from his body with his right arm. It settled along his back and out of his line of fire as he brought his hands up and cupped them together. His skin shifted from its usual pale-pinkness to becoming as dark and gritty as coal. Static hissed and crackled as he collected energy in his palms until a sphere of blinding light formed between them. His eyes had turned red and the energy cascaded around him like it was a part of his aura of madness. His whiskers stood on end as he raised his hands toward the front of the virus column, leading his targets. He fired.

The bolt of light thundered forth from his gauntleted hands and sped across the field, kicking up a thin cloud of dust over where it passed low to the ground. It shimmered as it flew, intent on mass destruction. But already the hissing and crackling could be heard again as DragonierMan prepared another shot. It was then that the first energy shell had detonated close to the viral lines, spewing deadly Null energy everywhere.

The ground rocked by the explosion would get little pause as DragonierMan had released another bolt, aimed for the back of the viral lines. It was possible that the Heavy's would be scattering at this point, but it was no matter to the warrior gun-ho on their destruction. He would blast away their escape route, or catch them in the act of running. The explosion of the second energy shell was as temporarily deafening as the first.

He watched to see if their were any survivors of his overactive assault. Seeing some movement, whether an involuntary twitch of the dead or an actual live target, he bent his legs and charged. He leaned his weight into his left arm and shouldered the energy field before him like a lance. He tore through the wild as a bolt of energy himself, tearing up the ground and displacing wildlife like a plow.

DragonierMan wailed to the sky as his armor was coated in viral datum. He cackled maniacally as he stomped down the path.

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

Moving onwards through the network, maniacally laughing all the while, DragonierMan happened upon a rather large river, fast-running and wide. Inside of it, some strange sausage-shaped fish were flopping around near the edge. Nearby was an arch-shaped bridge, with some floating eyes apparently not being attached to anything. When he approached, it was then seen that the eyes were attached to a cloud of superheated steam.

DragonierMan approached the bridge laughing all the while, alerting everyone and everything to his presence. His eyes watered behind the visor of his faceplate. It was hot in his armor from all the running around, and he was sweating. His cape fluttered behind him as a sea breeze wafted up the river. The cooler air was a boon to his heated body.

"Ha ha ha... What?"

He stopped short of the bridge as he finally perceived the threat. He blinked the tears from his eyes and peered out across the field. What he saw made him gnash his teeth.

"You again?!"

He bellowed. The creatures lazing about in his way were similar to the ones he had slain before, just like the last battle. He had wanted to fight something new.

"Aaaarrrrhhhh!"

The ground shifted beneath his heavy boots as he threw his hands up in rage. Small fissures cracked the surface as he suddenly burst into flame. White fire raged around him as his skin hardened to coal under his armor's metal scales. The flames seemed to draw energy from his rage, flaring up and burning brighter with each passing moment. His cape flapped about uncontrollably in the fire, but was not burned.

He thrust a clawed arm out toward the Mudfeesh. The flames leapt forth from around his form like a blazing comet, forming into a great bird of burning embers. It flew at the viruses with gleaming talons outstretched, screeching an earsplitting wail.

DragonierMan charged on its heels, dashing across the field and up the arching bridge. His feet found purchase on the uneven stone as he blazed his own trail of white flames up and over. He plowed through to the other side and skid to a stop.

Without missing a step, he reached to his belt as a familiar sheath appeared. Grabbing hold of the hilt of his sword, he unsheathed it in one smooth motion, cutting through the air with its sharp blade. The blade widened as he charged back into the fray. He yelled an unintelligible battle cry as he swiped the sword across what was left of the viral lines. The blade sang as it slashed through the air again and again. A glowing trail of rainbow light flowing along with each swing, severing all along its path.

His eyes were lit like tiny crimson torches.

Dragonier's (unreasonable) anger paid out as all the viruses were taken care of in a flash...However, his defenses were already down by the moment the battle was finished, meaning that he would've suffered greatly if it wasn't for it...

DragonierMan looked around a bit after everything had fallen. Scrounging up the rewards and frowning over the corpses.

"Where are the strong guys? I thought I had felt something earlier."

"Heh. Getting a little ahead of ourselves aren't you. The threats against you are in proportion to the strength and duration of you and your allies. When Maribel left, you became dimmer in the eyes of Yoka Net's denizens."

DragonierMan scratched his armored chin.

"So, you're saying I need to cause more ruckus."

His grin was wide underneath his helmet.

"Pretty much."

"Then let's rumble!"

DragonierMan said ecstatically as he jumped off the path into the surrounding underbrush and tore through it like a rampaging boar.

The navi came across yet another running river that stood in his path, no bridge this time. Thought traversing the waters wouldn't be difficult, what would be was the viruses that was in his way from reaching the other side...and even more viruses that waited ON the other side.

Another river lay in the way of DragonierMan. Normally this would be a concern, but DragonierMan could walk on water. So the threat purposed by a large river was mostly negated. But it was not entirely negated, however, because he could still drown. Or as close to drowning as a navi could.

"I think you got your wish. These guys look much stronger."

"Heh. We'll see."

Destin and DragonierMan finished trading banter as the dawn of the battle approached. The submersibles were not a new opponent. But their true capabilities were never quite revealed, as they were deleted quickly in those confrontations. The others arrayed against them, on the other hand, were new and had not been experienced. Who knew what danger they held for our heroes.

And who cared? For DragonierMan didn't when he began collecting energy into his palms as the viruses prepped themselves for battle. The navi's skin became gray and craggy, and his fiery aura returned, bright and maleficent as ever.

He thrust his hands forward and discharged the missile of light at his foes within moments of the start of the battle; at the weakest looking of the bunch. Disembodied hand viruses. They were creepy.

Then he bolted. Running off to his right, the virus' left. Grass clippings and pebbles flew from his booted tread as he flew down the river bank. He weaved from side to side, weaving like a snake on the ground as he ran. He did not want to get hit by a barrage of attacks by waiting around to get picked off like a lame duck.

However, he was not running from the battle. As one would assume by the running away from it. As he weaved he grew closer to the water, until he was running on top of it. The sea splashed and babbled off of each step. A cool sea breeze wafted by, cooling the navi's heated body as he ran on the water. His cloak billowing behind him.

The warrior skidded and turned, splashing water everywhere as he banked hard to face the virus horde again. His boots sank a few inches as he slowed, before speeding up again, coming out of the water once more. He charged the enemy boats.

His body sped up until it blurred. The water kicked up to both sides in his wake as he roared along the river towards his prey. A deadly barrier of energy encompassed him from head to toe as he tore across the water, becoming a living fireball of swirling chaotic forces. He let out a roar of his own as he got close, before crashing through the Marinas...

DragonierMan began the battle by launching a projectile of light at the Handy viruses. The first of the two targets disappeared into the ground before the attack hit, but the second was engulfed by the blast. The first popped up again near the edge of the water and laid a bomb before simply floating near said bomb. Before any of the viruses could register him doing so, DragonierMan took the initiative and charged off in a series of swift movements to bring him closer to the Marinas. On the way, his passive systems instilled a fair bit of protection on him. His DashAttack carried him straight into one of the Marinas' attacks, but his barrier took the attack completely as he tore through two of the viruses. They were left in a somewhat abysmal state as DragonierMan landed on the other side of the water.

From its pot, the EarthDragon watched warily.
