Man 'n Machine

"Feels oddly weird but kinda cool." Critias said as he moved around the net. "It's like wanting to move but not really moving yourself. How are you feeling, Yusaku?" the navi asked.

"Mildly tired but otherwise great. This works better than I even intended to. I still need to get used to having only three fingers and two toes...but I'll get there. The tail doesn't bother me at all and that it's a good thing. All the extra sensors in there were a good choice. Keeps the actual costume relatively light."

The navi nodded. "Well let's try not to go overboard with it okay? It's 11pm already. Let's do some walking around and try to stay away from danger."

"Alright then, off we go!"
(Don't forget to put that you're ready for battle in parenthesis next time at the end of your post, HP value also helps)

As the bat wondered through the network, he would eventually come across an outcropping of metal panels, metal as far as the eye could see and...a green cube of data spinning around slowly next to a metal cube. But before the batty could try to even grab at the data, a trio of metools waddled up towards him, standing a good several feet in front of him in a semi-circle formation. One brought up an LCD sign that seemed to go through a couple messages slowly, though it would eventually fall upon one. Met-Met! Welcome to the internet! Would you kindly Die for Us? The sign said after a few moments, going back and forth between the two messages as the viruses took their metocks out, brandishing them against him.

[>> Sofia's Simple Comforts - Yoka.]

In the middle of the Electown network, a fractured beam of light appeared in the middle of a transport pad, before a Navi hurriedly walked out of it, without even giving the light beam time to disperse properly. Sparsely bandaged about her body, looking less like she gave a damn with each footstep, Scourge had little patience as she stamped her way through the nighttime network. Eventually, she came across a metal road, where the clanking of the metal panels beneath her feet served to amplify her irritation at not having found any viruses thus far yet. So focused was she on the road, that she accidentally bumped into what seemed to be a Navi, quite a bit taller than her, covered almost entirely in purple scales.

"Hey! Watch where you're standing, I'm moving through here," she spat out, before she was halted by the strange development in front of her. The Metools waddling out in a formation with the scrolling sign, and the almost comical way that they brought out their mattocks, made her a little dumbfounded. She turned towards the tall purple-scaled Navi that she had just passed by with an incredulous expression on her face. With a face that was half questioning and half in disbelief, she turned back towards the viruses, then back to the taller Navi. "I think these're yours. You deal with 'em," she said.

// Summary
[Sc.1-4] No action
The bat-wyvern's eyes twitched when its feet began clanking at the metallic ground as they scratched it. An involuntary shudder informed the navi that Yusaku had felt the cold metal under his feet, that now technically were their feet, as well. He had to give credit to the netop, the gizmo he invented seemed to be more accurate than he thought.

The wyvern was so busy allowing his partner to take a look around that he totally got distracted by the pretty lights. Not even noticing something or someone bumping into him, the 7 feet tall purple navi would only realize once a small midget that had started squeaking angrily entered his field of vision due to Yusaku. Noticing his own body stiffening up some, he rolled his eyes. He knew how much Yusaku was socially awkward, so he simply allowed a single thought to reach the human. "I'll take care of this."

In a moment it looked like Yusaku's presence inside his body faded to the point of being fso faint he could hardly know he was still linked to his netop and his haptic costume. Now that he could fully control his movements again, the navi casually curled his long tail aroudn the small girl and brought her closer to his belly.

"Well well~" He spoke to her with a teasing tone and a shit eating grin that exposed a row of sharp fangs. "Ain't ya just a bundle of sunshine?" The bat added, booping the girl's nose with the tip of his tail as well.

Turning sideways, the navi noticed the viruses the girl was referring to. Freeing up the other navi right in front of him he gave off a smug grin. "Introduction will need to wait, Sunshine...and while you're absolutely right, I am a well mannered navi. Ladies first." He kept his teasing façade going, moving his wings at the viruses to invite the acquaintance to "go on and deal with them". Just in case the three Metools attacked, he kept his eyes tained on the group of three, ready to react. A faint traslucent barrier popped up as the navi's scales hardened, increasing the navi's size slightly and buffing up his form.

Action 1:dodge
Action 2: 20HP Barrier
Action 3: 20HP casing.
As Scourge teleported into the network and as the Bat-thing dodged towards her to boop her on the nose, a winged weight, a hoppy bunny and a floating fire ball with hands and a helmet floated up behind the two navis, getting the two of them caught in the middle of the two navigators. Unfortunately for the two navis getting involved, the Metools let out cries of anger at the bat, tossing the sign to the side and immediately attacking at once. Only one shockwave, however, managed to clip the bat-thing's body, his barrier absorbing the damage, while the two other shockwaves disappeared off into the distance.

The little tap on her nose only served to cause Scourge to recoil slightly backwards, a mixture of confusion and disdain on her face. And now he was... waiting for her to defeat them for him? Fat chance that was happening. While she would be well served to turn her firepower on the Navi, she came into the network to go up against viruses, not annoying passers-by. "Right... I'll just find my own, thanks," she said, turning to leave in the opposite direction. Of course, there had to be viruses in said area as well, though they looked slightly beefier than what she had been offered earlier. Still a pittance compared to what she had fought before, but it would do, as the bandages around her body began to harden in response. "I didn't say right now, but I guess beggars can't be choosers..." she muttered, waiting for a couple of seconds to scope out the three viruses, before realizing that she wasn't receiving any data. Irritated, she raised her head up into the sky--though nothing was there in particular. "Sofia! I know you're watching; slot in something already!" bellowed out Scourge.

"Eh, what? But I haven't even gotten to the kitchen yet! How fast are you walking?!" exclaimed Sofia, punctuated by the sound of something scrambling around in the background. Before Scourge could retort with her growing irritation, the Metools from behind her started their attack, causing her to pivot around to respond to them. Fortunately, they only seemed to target the hapless one beside her, and it didn't look like he needed to do much either, with how the winged Navi's defenses absorbed the incoming shockwave easily. Then, the sound of her voice link crackled in her ear--Sofia had responded surprisingly promptly. "Umm... Hang on, just use this one for now, let me get to the table first..." she said, and the sound of a confirmation beep from the slot-in could be heard.

Scourge rolled her eyes, but sure enough, the Battlechip data found itself in her systems, heating her up from the insides. The BurnSquare chip, simple enough that she didn't really need to move to use it. "Ladies first, huh?" she said loudly, without actually taking her eyes off of the viruses, as well as making sure she kept an ear on the Metools' attacks from behind as well. Holding out her hand, she imagined positioning the three viruses in the palm of her hand, and clenched her hand into a fist suddenly, as if crushing them in it. It seemed like it wasn't exactly a simple gesture either, as a dense 'forest' of bandages shot up from the ground underneath the viruses and looped back into the ground, making a sort of odd field of cloth loops. Suddenly, the bandages glowed a bright red, and spontaneously ignited in a spectacular pyrotechnic display, taking any of the viruses that were still in its range.

She turned back towards Critias. "Your turn," she smiled.

"Hey Critias. Viruses." Yusaku chimed inside the wyvern's head. "Uh? oh wait, right. I got distracted. Just a minute." the navi replied. "...Critias. I can see where you're looking. In first person no less." Yusaku chimed in again with an annoyed tone, a muffled clap could be heard as the human's facepalmed inside the suit he was wearing.

"RIGHT! RIGHT...VIRUSES. Yes." Critias jerked his head away from the female navi. The wyvern turned over to the new additions. Looked like she was going to take care for those, so he had to just swat those mettools. "Yus-"
"Already on it: Shotgun!"

Critias swiped his impressive wingspan once to move over to the metool's side on their left. "Line em up, knock em down!" He chuckled before reeling himself in to give out an ear shattering roar directly at the three mettaurs, the net shaking by the intensity of the wyvern's voice. Apparently, the navi had been finely customized to the point of having all chip data animations recoded and reanimated into sound based attacks The sound wave spread wide to trample anything in its cone of effect. There was alot of love put into each of the frames of animation. Almost obsessive care. Not counting how much it would cost on development side. Custom animations like that weren't cheap at all and not many companies were able to provide that kind of firmware. It meant one thing. Either Critias's operator was a spoiled filthy rich brat or knew how to code complex programs.

Hopping at the new acquaintance's side, Critias grinned. "You seem distressed. Do you require help M'lady?" He teased. "Your netop seems unable to send ChipData to you at this moment."

The trio of mets seemed, if anything, vaguely offended that their greeting committee process had been gate-crashed by another more experienced navi, and after a quick muttering of viral babble between the, all turned back and began hammering out more shock-waves with greater fervour.

Critias was already mobile, however, and tow of them thundered past the space where he no longer was, and the third didn't manage to do more than collapse his barrier — though scourge found herself having to side-step one of the shock-waves as well, which she managed with no issue. The viruses closer to her seemed to be paying scourge more attention, but she released her burn before most of them managed to make their attacks. The bunny and the powie were incinerated, but when she thought she might have a simple clean sweep, the boxer virus appeared directly in front of her, having warped at the last moment. It swung twice in quick succession with its fists, but Scourge was able to duck and twist away from the assault without taking a scratch.

Behind her, the purple navi finished lining himself up and gave an ear-piercing shriek that tore apart the nearest two metools, though the disintegrating bodies of its comrades seemed to shelter the third from the sound.

"Not bad," commented Scourge, watching the bat-like Navi take out two of the Metools with an impressive display of sonic waves. Of course, she wasn't distracted quite enough to not notice the Champu warping up to her side, and easily sidestepped its one-two punch with ease. Even with the protection of her hardened wrappings, there was value in not getting hit in the first place. Unfortunately, her evasion landed her uncomfortably close to the bat-like Navi, who seemed to have taken it upon himself to attempt to impress her with his wiles. Her expression contorted itself into disgust. "Never mind, forget I said anything," she muttered, focusing back to the Champu that had its dukes put up.

"Alright! I got to the kitchen!"

Suddenly, she was greeted by another voice, this time from a screen that appeared directly in front of her. She slightly recoiled as the screen depicted a certain blonde-haired girl settling in behind a kitchen table. "Okay! Ready to operate!" said Sofia, who then stretched out her arms, cracking her knuckles in the process. Another fantastically aggravating person to deal with, but at least this one was a lot less likely to hit on her, thinking he was hot stuff. Hot stuff... Her eyes glanced over to her side for a moment, taking note of her surroundings once more, before an idea came to mind.

"I'll take a BlackBomb," said Scourge, the scowl on her face starting to curl into a faint smile.

"Black bomb... Oh! This one, got it," said Sofia; the chip was slotted in, with Scourge's systems acknowledging the transfer quickly. From the corner of her eye, she kept the other side of the battlefield in view--a lone Metool, and one "hot stuff" bat-wyvern-thing. Bringing up a clenched fist to her chest, she uncurled her hand, revealing a small bundle of burnt cloth. She then tossed it into the air with little warning. The cloth bundle quickly expanded out into a black spherical mass that landed with a reverberating thump onto the metal floor behind her, right next to both of the Navis. Further out to the side, a slithering mass of bandages snaked up from the floor beneath the rotating green data crystal and swaddled it in wrappings before hardening up.

With her back to the BlackBomb, she put one hand on her hip and gestured towards the Champu with her finger--an arrogant come-hither meant as a challenge, which all but said "Hit me if you can," while readying herself to warp to the side to immediately deny any chance of it ever landing an actual hit on her. The taunt was more than just for show, however; her systems had already worked to render the Champu's flaming fists nearly ineffective, though just enough to "ignite" some action.

The bat-wyvern chuckled. "Just mesing with ya. I'm not into necrophilia, mind you. You do have quite a nice-"
"Critias. Viruses." Yusaku took over to personally pull his navi away from danger. "How about we kill the things here first and then talk?"

The purple navi shrugged, then nodded. Once a new chip was slotted in, Critias's tail was swiped at the remaining metool. With the tip now being razor sharp, the tall navi was aiming for a quick one-two swipe to swat the pesky annoyance away. The wyvern's ears twitched, picking up Scourge's voice. Quickly hopping out of the way just before getting smushed by a huge bomb, Critias finally noticed a new face on a screen.

Nonchalantly stealing the screen from Scourge he looked at the blonde haired girl. "Hello there" the navi said with a grin. "And who might you be your beautiful lady?"

Yusaku facepalmed. Again. Which this time made Critias facepalm as well albeit involuntarily...which in turn it meant he slapped his face with his paw. "Ouch. Carful with that voodo costume thing" Critias whined. Snapping his fingers, his barrier popped out again just to be on the safe size of more unexpected punishment.

Action1: Dodge
Action2: [Chip=RageClaw1] at Metool
Action3: 20HP Barrier on self.

Less than thrilled by her present company, Scourge decided that explosive demonstrations were the best way to answer over-eager bat-boys and hasslesome viruses alike. Her teasing of the champy virus, after knocking most of the wind out of its proverbial sails, seemed to go well enough; it was a virus that was rarely shy to attack in the first place, and being weakened, then teased was enough to have it focused very solidly on Scourge — especially seeing as it still hadn't managed to land a punch on her. It warped up to her this time, thinking it had the bandage-bearing navi cornered against some convenient new object, only to have her disappear from under its fists a moment later. Its first punch whiffed the air where Scourge had been, while the second one impacted with a fairly pathetic heat-hiss against the bomb behind.

The hiss didn't fade, however, and the virus had a moment to look confused by this before a blast wave drowned out all other sound and sight and rocked the battlefield strongly enough to leave those not expecting it blinking and dazed. When the blast finally rumbled to a close and everyone's ears stopped ringing from the harsh noise, the only things left on the battlefield were those who had possessed a modicum of protection before it went off. Well, them, and the rather resilient SteelCube. Thanks to Scourge's concern with the data crystal, this meant that the only ones not safely behind a barrier or other protective shell, were in fact the Champy, and the hapless metool who had not quite been quick enough to duck under its helmet.

Being engulfed by the flames of the all-consuming explosion did little to faze Scourge, whose reaction seemed to be less painful recoil and more irritation. She had confirmed that her sense of pain was still missing, after looking down at her own body. A good part of her already rather scant coverings had been singed off, leaving her dangerously close to violating public network decency laws. Unlike her previous experience with Martia, however, the wrappings seem to be much quicker on the draw at covering her back up this time around, rapidly whizzing about her body like a tape being wound at high speed. In less than a second, she was much more decent, though no less irritated. The dream that had woken her up was mysteriously missing from her memory as well, but there was a lingering sense of discontent that had carried over to her current state.

Meanwhile, her operator was having a different kind of trouble. "H-Huh? Who's this?" she said, having a Navi on her screen that was decidedly not the one she was operating a few seconds ago. She picked up her PET and started turning it around, trying to look around the enormous bat face that was currently filling her display. Out of the corner of the screen, she spotted the bandaged Navi looking off into the distance, and then walking off. Starting to panic a little, mistaking Scourge walking off for being disconnected from the Navi, she began to blurt out, "N-Never mind me! Could you please return this to that purple girl behind you? Her name's Scourge! I'm operating her!"

In reality, however, Scourge had simply glanced to the side, and saw that her operator would be a prime source of distraction while she herself went off to the side to unlock the nearby Mystery Data crystal. As such, she allowed the visual feed screen to be detached for a slightly longer distance away from her as she walked up to the crystal and tapped on it to begin its decryption.

[Open GMD.]
Critias had the time to grab his ears and cover them from the blast. His oversensitive earing didn't like extremely loud noises. Once the bomb was done with its cacophony, the bat-wyvern resumed looking at the screen. "Oh? So that's her name eh?" The purple scaled navi chuckled at the lady's panicking. Walking closer to the GMD with the screen spinning on one of his three fingers like a basketball, Critias rested his elbow onto the GMD itself. Catching the screen in between his fingers to stop it from spinning, he held it up sideways as if taking a selfie of himself and Scourge. "Lass is here, Sunshine. I doubt she's going to ditch you." He took that moment to noseboop Scourge again. "See? She's still has her grumpy face. Besides, she wouldn't go far without a operator. I'm Critias, by the way. Critias.bat, Nebula Systems Dynamics, At your service." The bat introduced himself, giving

"Critias, could you please not sit on something that might be a Mimic?" Yusaku chimed in the wyvern's head. "Ha, don't worry. A little mimic ain't doing a thing on me," The navi replied.

"You ain't got alot of experience operating, eh?" The navi observed. "You can jack out navis at will. Even if she were to walk away from this particular screen I'm holding, I'm pretty confident you would still be able to follow her around."

Taking his eyes off the screen to observe the other navi, critias seemed to turn a little more serious than his usual mischieful playing. "Anyway, what kind of business are you two on about? Two ladies shouldn't be walking alone in the middle of the night. It's not very safe. Well...a woman and a corpse. I have to wonder why such a stunning beauty would wish her navi to be a decaying zambambo deal. Usually, all the ladies like more...fru fru things like lipsticks and mascara. No offence, o'course."
The green crystalized data was opened to reveal two separate stashes of zenny, one for each Navi.

(GMD: 1800z x2)
To her disappointment, Scourge found that Sofia didn't quite serve as much of a distraction as she thought; she had been planning to be on her merry way once the crystal decrypted, but that seemed to be a bit of a pipe dream as the disproportionately tall purple-scaled Navi sauntered over after her. With the height difference between the two, she was left to dispassionately stare up at Critias flaunting about with the video feed screen that housed her operator. The tail that turned up to poke at her nose again was quickly swatted to the side, as she continued to simply return the wyvern's flirty ways by staring into the empty space behind him.

Meanwhile, Sofia seemed to be handling the situation a lot more reactively. "Whew... I thought she'd walked off on me. That's a relief. T-Though I could've done without the screen-spinning..." said Sofia, trailing off towards the end of the sentence. What would I give to just walk off right now, thought Scourge, as her barely restrained scowl became more apparent, though she kept her silence, not wanting to egg on this busybody any more than her operator was currently doing--which she was doing a pretty good job of. "Mimic...? What's--Huh? Oh! Um, yeah, I've only been operating for a few days. I'm getting the hang of it, though; the last time went pretty well. I think. Ahaha," laughed Sofia sheepishly.

Scourge's patience neared its limit, just as the tall Navi dropped the flirtatious front and adopted a slightly more serious tone, raising her expectations slightly. Or at least, he did so for about two seconds, before laying on more flattery on her hapless operator, whose blush seemed to indicate that she had taken Critias's compliment to heart somewhat quickly. At that moment, the crystal that Critias had been leaning on completed its decryption, and revealed its stash of stored currency. Scourge turned downwards and blinked a few times at the amount of zenny, though her little heart bore a small bit of disappointment; perhaps a Mimic might have been just the thing to drive off the annoyance in front of her.

She retrieved the zenny before turning back up and raising a hand, with two fingers pointed towards the video feed screen in a quick downwards swipe gesture. Almost immediately, the feed cut itself off, and the screen vanished from Critias's hand. "I'm not her Navi," she said simply, lowering her hand. Idly within her hands, she began to fiddle with the zenny cache that had been in the Mystery Data crystal.

"And this decaying... 'zambambo deal' can handle herself perfectly fine. Just taking a short walk, is all. Nothing you need to concern yourself with. At all," she said, ending the sentence with a smile so sickeningly forced that it seemed like the sewn-in seams on her face would threaten to split themselves apart. She then tossed up something at Critias--it was half the zenny cache that had been in the crystal; she hoped that would be enough to keep the bat out of her sight as she turned to leave.
Critias shook his head, chuckling. "...Ladies..." He mumbled. Qucik on his reflexes, he caught the money with one paw and wired it to Yusaku's secret stash. If they wanted to keep the whole operating thing somewhat of a secret the heir of Nebula System Dynamics simply couldn't go outside with his father's credit card in hand to purchase Navi Upgrades.

"Hey, Yu..." the navi called. "Did you do your magic?"

"Yes. You know that I shouldn't really do that right?" His netop replied, always inside Critias' head. The navi was beginning to enjoy his company.

He hopped over, walking just a few steps behin Scourge, with his tail dragging on the floor. "So...if she ain't your NetOp...why are you allowing her to operate you? Seems...contradictory to what you're telling me." The bat said manner of factly, but still mostly just fooling around as it was usual for him to do. "Besides..." A snap of Critias' paw and a screen popped to his side with an outgoing call to Sofia. "...something tells me she worries about you. Which in turn means that you really shouldn't cut the feed like that on her." This time, it looked like the bat-wyvern was actually doing some serious talking. "There's navis that would pay an arm n a leg to have such cute NetOp caring for them."
A small exhale escaped Scourge's lips as she walked off without looking back, assuming she was now all by herself. She raised her hand once more, and gestured in the air with a small circle. The screen ended up at her side again, with Sofia's face reappearing on it once more. This time, however, it was a private feed that wouldn't show up to other Navis, with the screen being completely invisible to others. It would look like she was staring into empty space while walking, but it was better than getting the feed swiped by some random person. However, her operator appeared with a look of concern on her face--presumably from being abruptly cut off from the video feed without warning. She looked surprised at the connection being reestablished, though Scourge managed to preempt her concerns by talking first.

"Ah, it's working again. Seems like the feed cut out a little back there. Connection problems, maybe," said Scourge through the private channel, with her mental thoughts communicating over the line as if she was talking with her actual voice. Smoothly glossing over the fact that she herself had caused the "connection problem" was par for the course, as while she didn't really like the relationship between her and the operator, it was better than the alternative of being left out unoperated and--something. Her memory abruptly cut off at that point, short of some vague sense of unease about what she had forgotten.

Before she could try to recall what it was, Sofia cut her off with a relieved exclamation. "Oh! That's good, then. Sorry, I'm not too good with operating," said Sofia. Scourge waved it off, and a small silence ensued. Before long, Sofia blurted out another thing. "Um, Scourge?" she said. The Navi wordlessly replying with raised eyebrows, which prompted her to continue. "I know it sounds a bit weird, but I don't think you look ugly like that Navi said earlier... I kind of like how you look."

Taken slightly aback by the compliment, Scourge's eyes widened a little, before she caught her composure, and let out a small scoff. "Oh, heh, is that all? I don't have to care what some random person thinks how I look. It's not like I'll see him again; I'll live my own life how I want to," her mental voice said, grinning proudly.

Sofia's face instantly contorted into confusion as she tilted her head. "... Huh? You're not walking with him? He's right behind you."

Scourge's steps ground to a halt as she spun around. Sure enough, there was the 7 foot tall purple bat thing, still following her around. For some reason, he was asking her questions now, and lecturing her about her relationships out of thin air. Staring at the Navi in front of her in disbelief, she watched as he began to contact someone, and almost too quickly, a ringing tone could be heard through Sofia's private video feed. "Oh, I got a call. Hm? It's not in my contacts... That's weird," muttered Sofia.

"Don't answer that," spat out Scourge.

"Ah, huh? O-Okay, I guess, if it's not someone I know," said Sofia, and soon after, Scourge heard the ringing tone stop. At the same time, she could see the screen next to Critias getting a "call declined" notification. That was enough to confirm her suspicion--this person was trouble. She quickly assumed a battle-ready stance, clenching her fists in preparation. "What's your deal, huh?" she barked out angrily. "Does this 'Nebula Systems' want anything with me or do you just want some trouble? C'mon, I'll beat your face in."

Sofia was taken aback by the sudden 180 degree turn, both literally and figuratively. "W-What's going on?" she said. The Navi thought of explaining to her, but figured it would only needlessly cause her further panic, when she already had enough trouble operating in normal circumstances. As a result, she kept mum, and continued directing her glare towards Critias.

[Battle 2 - Ready.]
Critias laughed. "Oh yeah. I am really, really, really bad." He mocked while doing some playful hopping around her, his tone heavy with sarcasm. "I am a big, scary wyvern and you're a little helpless girl...alone...in the middle of the night. I will drink your blood and take your soul." He hopped right in front of her and mocked a "Boo!" gesture before letting his paws fall back down.

"Why would I follow you, make sure you don't ditch your operator by cutting the feed in the middle of the night?" He told the lady, then...he suddenly went dead serious. The expression on Critias face was so unlike anything he had expressed up to know it almost felt like a completely different persona.

"Maybe, if you stopped being such a tsundere you would have guessed why a NSD navi is following you. It's not that I'm trying my best not to have Sunshine in the real world not have to deal with a Deletion message on her PeT because you're too stupid to comprehend that running around the net after hours alone is a big no no." It looked like the bat-wyvern still had somewhat of theatrical mannerism by default.

"It's not like..." Back to his antics, Critias hopped closer to the other navi and before they could react he used his long tail to wrap it around Scourge's waist and turned her around while pointing at some new viruses that had popper out. "You are walking straight into an ambush where there are at least eight bad bad baaaad viruses ready to smash YOUR face in. Feel free to fight them all on your own."

Despite his overconfident demeanor, the bug type navi seemed somewhat on edge. His stance got rather defensive as he brought Scourge closer to him. He told her she would have to fight alone, but it looked like he was ready to step in and take hits for her instead.

((Ready for battle 2))

The two navis continued along Electown Net and came to a curious sight. Magnetic terrain surrounded a strip of Solar panels in the middle of a road. Floating above the Solar panels were three boxes with question marks emblazoned all over. Underneath the boxes was a Bunny, hopping back and forth. Wandering around on the Magnet terrain was a Billy, with its electrically charged lightning rod arms.

A pair of rumbling flames off to the west signaled giant metalic mouths rushing in to terrorize, including the boing, boing of a pogo stick virus.

Another earthly rumble came up from behind as their way back was cut off by a tank.

Finally, to the east, a Scarecrow seemed to materialize on the only patch of metal left here, anchoring to the ground. It began to bob and weave along with a multi-tiered cactus creature that shuffled up beside it. It got stuck to the Magnetic terrain and so was almost as immobile as the Scarecrow. Finally, the roar of an engine up in the sky to the east signaled a diving FighterPlane.

-- Battle 2 Ready? Start!! --
As the towering bat circled about Scourge, laughing and mocking her, and spouting some absurd nonsense with terms she didn't understand, Scourge bared her teeth in a clear wide-grinned grimace. Her eye twitched incessantly, as she tried to hold herself back from outright slugging the annoying Navi, while her bindings tightened about her in response to her tension. There was still time for her to simply walk away. She never wanted to meet anyone; all she asked for was a nice quick session of wanton viral destruction after being rudely woken up by a bad dream. She certainly didn't need some strange Navi talking down to her with terms she couldn't even understand. What even was an "NSD Navi", and what did being a "tsundere" have to do with it? It didn't help that the Navi seemed to like to flip between vocal tones in a confusing manner.

In the real world, Sofia was still as confused as her Navi was, with no more of a clue about the strange Navi's ramblings. As it seemed like Scourge was keeping quiet, she assumed that the Navi was in trouble of some sort, and resolved to try to help on her own. Then, out of the corner of her screen, she saw something that, to her, confirmed her lingering suspicions. "!! Viruses!" she whispered to herself. This Navi could have been someone from before she lost her memory, setting her up for an ambush. Thus, there was only one thing to do. "I gotta help her!"

Meanwhile, in the Electown network, Scourge's barely-restrained ire was interrupted when she heard the sound of something clattering nearby. Glancing towards the source of the noise, she noticed her operator pouring out the chips from her folder in front of her with a serious expression on her face, looking at them one by one frantically. Wondering why she was doing so only took her a moment, as she noticed the viruses around them creeping in one at a time. Two grew to four, to six, to nine. Suddenly, she felt one, two, three Battlechips asserting themselves in her processing queue; Sofia had already started slotting them in without having to refer to her. Awed briefly by how fast her operator was learning, Scourge caught herself. She had to focus on the present. Scanning the area, she narrowed her eyes as they darted about between the viruses and the stalker Navi currently circling her. Was she going to have to deal with them simultaneously, she wondered.

That question was asked swiftly when Critias swooped in and wrapped his long tail around her waist, saying something about an ambush. Unfortunately, she had no intention of even listening to a word that was said after that. "GET OFF ME!!" she growled in fury, as her fist launched into a straight uppercut, imbued with one of the chips that had been given to her by Sofia. The punch, while not being much of any help in dealing any damage, would infect anyone it came into contact with a debilitating weakness. As she had lost her sense of pain, she was unable to determine whether the punch connected, but she was quick in getting herself out of the bind regardless. A sudden burst of wind would engulf Scourge as her bandages rapidly extended to cover her in a shroud of wrappings, before they collapsed inwards into thin air--Scourge had vanished.

High in the air, a whirlwind of cloth erupted out of nowhere, revealing Scourge in freefall, with a massive black sphere above her. She brought her hand down, and the BlackBomb sphere launched itself rapidly towards the eastern group of viruses, while she herself fell down towards terra firma. Thankfully, the last chip that Sofia had given her would help with that as well. The ground directly beneath her split open abruptly, revealing a tall totem statue that shot up towards the sky next to one of the viruses. As she touched down on top of its uppermost head, its bottom-most face rapidly rotated itself towards the BlackBomb, and breathed out a plume of fire towards it in order to light up the battlefield. Standing on the Totem, she looked down towards the rest of those on the ground on the Electown crossing with a serious-looking frown.
