"Damn." Zetaman said, his first attack being absorbed into the hard shell of the enemies. "Vita, do we have anything to get through that armour?" He asked, finally getting within striking range of the virii.

"Um, no, we don't really have any chips like that." Vita replied, a little strained by the lack of preparation she had as an operator. "There are just too many viruses out there to be ready for all of them." She half-whined. "Those guys can bust tiles, I bet they'd have a better chance than we would." Vita added, collapsing with her PET in hand.

"What was that...?" Zetaman said, looking back as if directly at Vita, his brows furrowed in thought.

"They'd have a better chance than we would?" Vita repeated, confusion in her voice.

"Perfect." Zetaman said, a dark grin coming across his face as he put the pieces together. He jumped around behind the open-mouthed HardHead, trying to use his RageClaw and his own strength to wretch the virus around to face his partner. "Come on you bastard!" He grunted, trying to keep the HardHead in place until it fired off its cannonball or not, aimed at the other HardHead.

Under great stress, he tried to do his best to keep the HardHead held and aimed. If he was lucky, he might be able to block the other virus' attack with his buddy too. Even if they both took a little damage, it might be worth it.

"Vita!" Zetaman called out, his operator immediately reacting by plugging in one of the remaining chips. The navi quickly activated the chip, an electric bomb forming in his hand as he pulled it back and swung forward in order to toss it at the remaining virus. The moment he was about to throw, however, he gripped it tighter and didn't let it leave his hand. He was lucky that it wouldn't go off in his hand, but he settled a glare across at the HardHead.

"Zed? Zed, what's wrong?" Vita called out to him, the Navi approaching towards the virus slowly, the bomb still in his hand.

"We've seen this." He commented, glaring at the HardHead. "If he clamps shut then this goes off and does nothing." He said, taking a deep breath and focusing on his opponent, testing his handle on the Magbomb. "We just have to wait. Right before they attack... He'll open up." Zetaman said plainly, his operator chewing a fingernail in suspense. The moment that the Navi had his chance to get into that virus' shell, he was going to toss his bomb right into the metal-head's maw.

"Vita... That doesn't matter." Zetaman replied, glaring only a little. "I just don't want to let this bastard get the better of me. Not now."

"Alright, alright." Vita said, almost bored. "Tell me when something happens."

The HardHead stared down Zetaman with its placid, determined face. Of course, that face was etched into the virus' face, so there wasn't much opportunity to change it anyway. Its face slowly opened itself to expose the delicate insides, ever so slowly. Time to do this.

"GOOOO!" Zetaman roared out, the moment the broad steel 'lips' of the virus began to open, his hand drew back and his grip on the bomb changed. He shot his arm forward like a baseball pitch, sending the electronic bomb straight towards the opening maw. He rose his head and immediately shot forward towards his enemy, only paces behind the hurled bomb.

"Zeddy?" Vita said, sitting up as soon as he called out. "Alright! Go, go, get that metal jerk!" She said, all of a sudden excited by the movement.

Zetaman's main hope was that the bomb would be able to shock the metalhead enough to keep the mouth open and his attacks stopped. Regardless of the outcome, he still had to take his shot at getting an attack inside that sheel. He shot out with his RageClaw, angling it to fill as much vertical space in the maw as possible and stab into the mysterious innards of the virus. His other hand, with his buster on it, aimed forward ready for the next actions he'd have to take.

Zetaman's Magbomb arced up and into the virus's mouth, but the whole reason behind it opening its mouth in the first place was to attack. As such, the cannonball that was spat out struck Zetaman square in the chest and knocked the stuffing out of him (60). Fortunately that was to be its last attack as the stun from the Magbomb finally started to take hold and caused it stall while still slackjawed. Zetaman was able to deliver a slash across the Hardhead's exposed interior with his Rageclaw. A large crack flashed up the side of one of his blades like a bolt of lightning, indicating its durability was reaching its limit.

"Gaaauph!" Zetaman called out, the strike from the HardHead pumping straight into him stomach in the narrow seconds before the stun of the bomb was able to knock out his opponent's senses. He was lucky enough that his claws were able to slip into the virus' maw, and now he was in it for good.

A crackling surrounded the two programs on the floor and moved in like a ripple in reverse, its epicenter under Zetaman's feet. The energy wafted up the Navi like a thin aura and the massive, bugged dent in his chest transformed into a series of cracks in little more than an instant.

"Nice try, though." Zetaman told the HardHead, slamming the claws deeper inside the virus.

[Battle 8 - Victory!]

Get: 840z
Zetaman sat himself down on the wall and let out a gasp of air like he'd been holding it for minutes. "This place sure doesn't let up." He commented, looking at the remnants of his RageClaw as it dissipated from his hand. "At least we get something from it." He added, collecting his rewards and then stretching a little against the wall.

"You're doing fine, Zeddy." Vita responded with a smile on her face, even if she felt exhausted at the time. "Let's move on! We can make it to another awesome fight, I bet."

Zetaman let out a chuckle and pulled himself onto the wall, walking down to the base of the wall and passing by the cracked and broken tiles. "Yes yes, let's go find some more." He said with a grin.

[Battle Nine Welcome!]
Zetaman moved forward into deeper Electown territory. He found what seemed to be an old, abandoned replica of an Electown section, complete with decrepit buildings, flickering traffic lights, and cracked roads. He arrived at an intersection, where Navis might have walked in the past. As he reached the middle, some calls were heard from the old buildings, which revealed themselves to be viruses! Giant-headed Megalians peeped from some short rooftops, upgraded Champu hovered out of some old skyscraper, and some MagTects turned from their play-around with a dysfunctional traffic light.

-BATTLE NINE, FIGHT!!-
"I'm amazed that someone would go through the trouble of constructing a duplication of Electown like this." Zetaman observed, walking into the lonely remnant section of what could have once been a massive replica. "You'd have to wonder what this would even be used for. Why program a copy when you can create your own." He added, stopping to look at one of the buildings that was damage from some kind of pounding.

"Maybe they wanted to feel more like people?" Vita suggested, taking a moment to think after she stopped. "That's kind of sad to think about. A bunch of Navis being envious like that of people." She said quietly, laying back with the PET beside her.

Zetaman stopped for a moment during Vita's observation, shrugging at the insanity that Navis would be so obsessed with humans as to construct a town for themselves. "They obviously came to their sense, since they abandoned it for some..." He started, trailing off as he hit the intersection and saw the surrounding virii that began to notice him as well. "I see. Well, that makes a lot more sense." He said calmly, immediately taking in his surroundings and best options.

The buster on his arm began to whirl with the sound of activity as a glow of green started to form on the end of the barrel, growing from deep inside. "Zed, do you want-?" Vita started, being cut off when she realised that her Navi had taken matters into his own hands and would tell her when he wished for assistance. The Navi took a look at his surroundings - the buildings nearby, the cracks in the street, the hardened sidewalks. He took a step to his left and found a massive crack in the way very discouraging.

"Just need to..." He began, looking to find that there was a somewhat clear path - the only path that wouldn't require dodging a multitude of cracks - to the building to his right. A glance in the distance reminded him that the boxer virii could teleport and were nothing but trouble. The only enemies that he felt safest attacking were also the closest. The MagTects were new to him, but he'd live and learn during the battle.

DING!

The stop light by the MagTects let out a sudden noise as the light on it changed from red to green. "Green means go!" Zetaman said, taking a sudden step forward as he raised his arm upwards. The blast of green energy flew like a simple firework over the virii and the stop light, suddenly losing its brilliance and it turned into three heavy spears of solid matter than curved downwards towards the MagTects.

While attention would no doubt be attracted to the green bolts, let alone the green traffic light, Zetaman was on the move. Only a couple of steps led him towards one of his first barriers, a crack in the street that would no doubt give way under a small amount of pressure. He stepped to the side, continuing a dead dash towards Building C. It wasn't very far, and he kept his eyes on his destination from there as his feet met the metal sidewalk. Not only to be shocked by unfortunate circumstances, he kept his time on the metal sidewalk short as he leapt forward.

A loud crash sounded as Zetaman crashed through the already damaged window. The glass shards shattered and then digitized into fading data, their stability in this dilapidated duplication barely capable to hold on after such an impact. He rolled with the impact once or twice before he was able to get himself onto his hands and stop himself with a skidding on his foot. Now that he had some cover, he needed to pay attention to the actions outside to decide his next actions.

After a little sightseeing and some philosophy thrown in for flavour, Zetaman went straight to work, zapping the unfortunate MagTects efficiently with his Bolt Towers. They were understandably a bit mad about it, and tried to pull Zetaman in their direction. Perpendicularly, it didn't work too well, though they did manage to slow him down a bit before he crashed through the window. The Megalians hovered lazily down onto the intersection, not having the mood to fight just yet. The Champus were a bit miffed that Zetaman ignored them outright, and moved into the building he entered as well. Punches were thrown, but it was a mite cramped with four people now, so only a couple hit. Nonetheless, those two punches hurt. (20x2)

Meanwhile, the traffic light continued its green shine.

"Jeez!" Vita cried out as Zetaman took on his actions and ran into the building. "Those guys there, it looked like they were drawing you towards them!" She pointed out, her exclamations soon falling on deaf ears as the Champus teleported from their original positions inside the same building as Zetaman.

"You can go through walls?" He asked, a little disappointed in discovering another strength the virii had over him. The next thing he could see was a flurry of punches, and there was little he could do aside from fall back from the attacks and hope things would work out. As his luck would have it, the heavy-bodied boxers weren't prepared for such tight quarters, bumping into one another and crowding to get at Zetaman. Of course, there was no such thing as total luck for the Navi, since he took a sudden blow across the cheek and a second in the gut, causing him to back up against one of the shattered windows at the back of the building.

"Zeta, I'm going to load up some chips now!" Vita said, going over her list quickly and loading them directly to her Navi. "Try using the bomb on them and then hit them all with the shockwave! It'll be perfect!" She said with a smile, the data downloading in an instant to her Navi.

"Vita!" Zetaman yelled as the Magbomb formed in his hand almost against his will. "I can't throw a bomb in these kinds of quarters! I'd have to..." He said, pressing his back to the window he was against. "Well, it's half a good idea." He said, tossing the bomb into the air where it bounced off a ceiling tile and headed towards the center of the group of Champus.

Always one to take his leave once a distraction was available, Zetaman leaned against the empty window and fell backwards onto the street again, rolling a little from the epicenter of the blast and pulling himself back onto his hands and knees on the metal sidewalk. "A now that I have a moment..." He told himself, placing a hand to his chest as he focused energy. Energy whirled from the tiles around him and was sucked directly into his body, the wound from his encounter with the Champus fading as he returned armour back to his body.

"Zed, are you paying attention?" Vita asked, her sudden words causing Zetaman to look up at the two Megalien virii that were floating in the middle of the street. Only a little distance north of them he should have noticed them earlier. Thankful that Vita had noticed them, he narrowed his eyes as he looked at the angles available to him. Then he looked at the chip he had pre-loaded.

"Well, maybe your idea wasn't bad at all." Zetaman added, moving across the street with his eyes to the ground, not meeting with any of the virii. Once he was sure that he wasn't going to fall into a sudden hole or open one, he quickly looked up in his perfect direction and placed his hand to the ground. The tile in front of him exploded into a wave of green that was soon echoed by a similar one a single tile ahead. Even after those two strikes, it was obvious where the path would go. Directly through the middle of the intersection and then further into the group of already damaged MagTects. Zetaman, in the meantime, ended up on the sidewalk outside the short Building A.

Throwing a bomb into the Champu's cramped existence proved to be useful, as they were blasted by the stunning hits, but they weren't in a position to stop right then and there. Unfortunately, the building was, and it did not like structural damage. The ceiling gave way on the Champus as the bomb weakened some of the building's supports. Naturally, it didn't look pretty. The Megalians, meanwhile, were readied up for battle, and blasted their giant heads towards Zetaman, damaging him for a pretty chunk of his health, almost deleting him, in fact. (40x2) He then proceeded to blast the viruses with a shockwave, which the Megalians were immune to, due to their awesome flying-ness and all. The Magtects, however, didn't have that luxury as two of them were blown to pieces.

The traffic light, meanwhile, was quite happy to turn into yellow, but its green light still shined on. How rather strange.

The tumbling of the building in on itself was enough to cause Zetaman a good degree of concern over how much he could trust these buildings. The split second he spent looking back was more than enough for the Megalian virii to catch up to him. The first strike, shocking with his opponent's face, was enough to knock the wind out of him. Even with the two virii so close to one another, as the first virus pulled its face back into the surrounding aura, the second hit the collapsing Zetaman as well. The fall he took was enough to let him hit the ground, sending his Shockwave into two of the distant virii. "Ah, shit." Zetaman cursed, clutching the damage on his chest.

"Zed!" Vita called out, a horrified look in her eyes. "Damnit Zed, you can't turn your back on these guys for an instant! I'll... I'll... Oh Zeddy, I don't have anything to heal you with." She said mournfully, going through her chips and spare parts for even a MiniEnergyPack she had previously overlooked.

"Vita! Send me a cannon chip." Zetaman said, pulling himself up onto his knees and his head, one eye closed in pain as the other glared across the broken road towards the last of the three magnetic virii.

"Zed, this is not the time to-" Vita started.

"It's always the time!" Zetaman roared back, opening his other eye and looking up at the Megalians. There was a beep internally as the gun loaded into his system. He narrowed his eyes to make sure that this attack would hit, his buster transforming into the larger weapon before sending the blast above the road towards the MagTect. "Look behind you..." Zetaman taunted to the Megalians.

He placed a hand onto the ground to pull himself up to a kneeling position, ready to make for a dead run into Building A. Of course, he wasn't ready to watch the ground too closely, so decided to remove that completely. The tiles around him crackled, sending a crackling sound into the other tiles nearby. Soon, a wave of crackling shot along the road until there was little more than a hum from the recently magnetised tiles. With all the cracked tiles on the road now restored as magnetic ones, Zetaman pulled himself up and shot low towards Building A, heading to jump into a window again.

"Zeddy, you're hurt!" Vita called to him, watching his movements. "Please, please... Use the door."

Zetaman's head cocked slightly to the side as he saw an open doorway that he hadn't previously considered. Not daring to say a word to his Operator about it was built deep into his programming, so he just adjusted his course a little and ran into the building, slamming the door behind him. "This one looks like it's in pretty good condition." Zetaman said, walking through the interior of the smallest building, only a single story high. "Those virii though..."

"You need to look out for them, Zeta." Vita pointed out. "You took about a quarter of your energy in a single strike! They might be able to bust through the walls!"

"Noted." Zeta said, hiding behind a low wall. He didn't know what this building was meant to duplicate yet, however. "Let's see if I can do something in order to get the drop on these guys..." He added, trying to be as stealthy as possible in the interior. If worst came to worst, he expected a head to suddenly burst from... Well, anywhere. At least their entrance into the building would be pretty noisy at the least. He'd have to watch, listen and wait until he found his opportunity.

Zetaman quickly blasted the remaining Magtect with a quick shot of his Cannon, deleting it from sight. Then, he turned most of the road into magnetic tiles, which did nothing, due to the Megalians being awesome and flying and all. Then, he jumped into another building, hiding himself from any potential attacks. The building looked to be an old fast-food restaurant of some kind, with chairs, tables, a counter, and dusty signs. One might wonder why Navis would need food, though. Most Normal Navis don't even have mouths.

Weirdly, the Megalians ignored Zetaman and began to inspect the traffic light, which had changed to a red light. The green light was not put out, however, which raised more questions.

"Gah..." Zetaman said, holding his ribs and sitting against the inside counter. The entire building was fraught with tables and things to hide under, but he had gone for some of the more durable shelter for now. A quick glance to the front of the door showed that there was nothing tracking him, though this did little to calm him down. "Vita, you've got a wider view of the area than I do. What can you tell me?" He asked, starting to slowly draw power from the data around him in order to restore the nasty wounds on his body. After the sudden beating he had taken, it wasn't more than a bandage over his more serious conditions.

"I can't see them, exactly." Vita confessed, not feeling like an omnipotent 'eye in the sky' at the moment. It was true she had a better readout of the area but the Megalians weren't easily tracked. "You should check one of the windows and use this on them." Vita said, loading up their Shotgun chip. "Those big-heads seem to have a field around them or something. I figure you should take both out at the same time." She added.

"Heh... Heh..." Zetaman chuckled a bit, holding his sides literally. He half-crawled across the floor to the window and peeked over the edge. "You know, I wouldn't have thought you'd pay that much attention to the virii." He mentioned, his brows rising as he saw the Megalians watching the stoplight. He had a moment to consider exactly what the lights might mean, but on the other hand he had more pressing manners and didn't want to waste precious time.

Altering his buster to match the weapon, Zetaman leaned out the window quietly in order to not attract attention - yet. A quick blast of energy send a spray that would ricochet off his first target, and with luck where he wanted. He had targeted the first of the virii, angling it the best he could to hit the other one as well.. "Special delivery, guys." He taunted, slipping back from the window.

Zetaman slipped back to the counter and held his back to the counter, hoping that the virii would be smart enough to head towards the source of the attack, but wouldn't be able to get to him immediately. He looked to the area behind the counter and found some spare odds and ends that were sitting around. Old and unused packaging grey with age and degradation, a mop, some bottles of soy sauce. A weird smile crossed his face as he started to go to work on... Something.

The Megalian heard the shot, and by the looks on their faces, they were angry. Heading towards Zetaman's building in a flash, one of them bashed in on the entrance with a mighty headbutt and entered the small restaurant.
