Rat and Science

Beaming into the busy Scilab network, the rat looked around as she continued to hear clicking and typing from the netop in his world. With a shrug and a half-sleepy look in her eyes, the rodent walked off into the network in search of viruses to kill and reap the rewards of.

(Battle 1)
Mask didn't need to look too long before she stepped on a weird solar panel, triggering a set of CannonGuards that popped up and barred her path. They all had their shields up... or down. Whatever, they were protected.

CannonGuardA: 60 HP [shield down]

[Battle 1 - Begin!]
Mask, grunting as she watched the trio of viruses appear, mere cannons. Doesn't look that hard. The rodent quipped as she moved off the panel, moving to the left. Jack, give me the Boomerang and a Guard. I have an idea. She said, looking down the cannon viruses, hearing two clicks in her PET, the rat nodding to herself.

Holding out one of her arms in a defensive gesture, the rat's legs spread as a small dish began to form around in front of her, a shield slowly materializing to help protect the navi from a single blow from an attack, probably from a Cannon blast at this point. The rat began to move around the viruses in an outer circle of sorts, the rodent's body moving as fast as it possibly could, trying to get a better way to attack the three with her shotgun, a choice so she could take them all out in a single blast.

Fr-...Mask, don't you think you're a little too overconfident about this plan? Yes, navis can manage to add effects to their chips, but...you really think you can break them down? Jack inquired as the rodent began to take mental aim at them, hearing her netop some, but shaking her head. Jack. Shut up and let me work. You're pretty much a chip dispensary while I do all the hard work. So sit down, shut up, and watch! The rat growled at her netop, giving him a piece of her mind, the rat ready to fell the viruses in a fell swoop.

Grunting as she continued to move her way around the viruses, the rat held up her arm, the arm, hand and finger disappearing into nothing, being replaced by a large, metallic boomerang. The rat grinned as she brought it back, her shoulder twisting as she readied herself to attack, flinging her 'arm' forwards as hard as possible, the boomerang leaving her shoulder and flying at the immobile viruses, the weapon of mass destruction going through the air, spinning heavily as it looked sharp enough to cut metal...the rat grinning all the while behind her helm as she had made the weapon denser, enough to break through defenses if the cannons tried it.

Mask shielded herself before sending a razor Boomerang at the trio of turrets. The first two were cut down easily but the weapon seemed to lose inertia or balance or something as it just barely missed the last one in line. The virus reacted by removing its defenses to fire a shot only to have it backfire on itself against the Guard.

Grunting as she watched her attack fail to hit the three viruses at once, the rodent grumbling under her breath, even after the cannon's attack was reflected into it's self she had felt little consolation from that. God fucking damn it all to hell! How hard is it to throw a weapon into a group of viruses!? She complained aloud to herself as she fumed, a quick click coming from her PET regardless. Get too big for your ego? Good. Now, this shotgun should end this battle. So be a good rodent and shoot it point blank for me, would you?

Cursing herself all the more, Mask grumbles and seethes some more at the fact Jack had made her eat her words, the rodent knowing she'd be eating those words for some time. Summoning the chip data from her core data, the rat created a double barreled shotgun in her claws as she glared hard at it, channeling her anger into the weapon as she ran towards the virus, the rat's feet making little noise as she rushed her target, mentally taking aim at it before clicking the trigger and sending a blast of heated shrapnel at the immobile virus, the blast would be more than enough to end the battle.

Mask, picking up the reward data from the fight, slowly walked away and continued on, looking for more viruses to delete.

(Battle 2)
Mask came across a handful of Bunny viruses, minding their own business while they were completely oblivious to the navi's presence. But when Mask came close, a giant tank-like virus dropped from the sky, landing between the Bunny and the navi as if it was trying to protect them. As it dropped its hulking shield down with a loud thud, Mask was in for some hard fighting!

-BATTLE TWO, START!-
Mask grumbled as she stepped back, the IronShield virus in front of her and it was trying to protect the weaker bunnies, not the best idea all things considered for this creature. Ugh. What the fuck is that and how can I plow my way through it? the rodent navi asked as she looked the virus up and down, seeing it protecting it's self with a shield of sorts.

Lets see...the PET calls the virus in front of you an 'IronShield'...looks like 120 HP strong and it's protecting it's self and the bunnies... Jack mumbled as he sifted through the few chips they had, drawing the boomerang1 from it and slotting it in. Normally, I don't like brute forcing the way through the enemy, but this would be a perfect time to break that thing to pieces.

Mask grinned at the puppet master's words, she didn't think Jack was acting right in the head at this point, he was usually too worried about her to let her do such a thing against a defending virus...but, she would do as he asked. Jumping backwards and holding one of her arms up, the rat navi proceeded to summon what seemed to be a metallic boomerang between her claws, swinging the new found weapon around expertly around her body, showing off just to show off.

Moving from her position, the rat proceeded to move from her position and grinned, trying to get the virus to attack her, her movement keeping her from being a sitting duck for the enemies to hit until she was dead. Pulling her arm back, weapon in hand, the rodent threw a sharpened boomerang right at the currently stationary virus, her weapon flying through the air with little resistance from the air, the weapon attempting to cut through the virus' shield and body, perhaps hitting the bunny behind it.

-----------------TURN SPLIT--------------------------
Running off to the side, Mask materialized a metallic Boomerang into her hand, and threw it at the viruses. Somehow, she missed the obviously gigantic IronShield, but her boomerang sliced through a couple of Bunnies anyway, thanks to the curved arc that the weapon flew through. The remaining Bunny and IronShield launched a Zapring and a couple of bombs respectively, but thanks to her movement, she wasn't hit very easily.

Mask was dumbfounded at the Boomerang, it not stupefied at the path the weapon took, completely missing the intended target and cutting down two bunnies in it's path...but, the fact it had missed the largest virus in the area. Jack...please tell me something. HOW THE FUCK DID MY ATTACK COMPLETELY MISS THE LARGEST TARGET IN THE AREA?! I threw the damn thing straight ahead and it curves around to fucking cut two of the SMALLEST viruses on the net. WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED!? Mask yelled angrily, she was obviously unable to comprehend what had just happened. Mask. Sometimes it's better to NOT ask such questions and just go with it. As far as I know, a good amount of physics in the net are completely different in there than out there. Let me just slot you in a Shotgun... The mage explained before Mask ran off towards the bunny that managed to avoid being sliced in half by the boomerang.

For the love of daruchen... He sighed as his Navi closed the distance between her and the rabbit-like virus, her tail scraping against the ground as she jumped into the air and flipped around. Her tail flaring up and catching fire, the whip-like appendage attached to the navi crackling and burning heavily as she turned around, smashing the appendage down onto the ground where the virus stood, a small singe upon the ground and, hopefully, the Bunny's charred remains.

Mask smashed the panel in front of her, the virus she was aiming for...was still alive...however...seemed luck had given her the middle finger as of late. The rat navi was currently fuming and literally steaming over her constant barrage of misses. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF- The rat started, hearing a click in her PET, obviously the shotgun that Jack wanted to send to her earlier. What, Jack? Can't you see I'm- She started, getting cut off by Jack as soon as possible.

Getting shown up by two viruses, one of which could easily be the size of a tank, I know. Just shut the fuck up and listen Mask...if you are capable of such an act. I know how much trouble Freya had trying to get you to do things because you headed off on your own only to be blasted half to death by the enemies you charged at. Jack said without a hint of trying to make Mask feel better, if anything, it increased her anger. Listen Mask, you have become my netnavi, you have to face that fact and start thinking harder on your actions. You can't get pissed every single time an enemy dodges your attack, no matter how well placed the action or attack was. Now. Point-blank that fucking IronShield with that Shotgun, and break it into a thousand pieces. Pierce it's armor and weaken it. Jack continued, the magician finishing giving the rat a piece of his mind, he was not happy with how Mask had acted out and he was going to correct it one way or another.

Sighing in defeat and looking down at her feet, the rat navi nodded, she listened to Jack's plan and would be certain to complete it. The rat summoned up a rather large gun in her claws, it easily looking like a combat shotgun, sans the fact it didn't have a barrel to shoot multiple times with. The barrel was flared at the end to give the spread a little more distance and range, giving it a more fan-like pattern, even if the shrapnel would just go everywhere at once.

Mask moved at that point, running towards the IronShield with remarkable speed, regardless of the shotgun she was carrying and it's weight, her head down as she ran across the field to fire her weapon into the armored plating of the IronShield, her shotgun loaded with armor piercing rounds. Grunting as she quickly closed the distance between her and the virus, her shotgun was primed and ready to fire, moving around the virus as she held it towards the virus, turning it slightly towards the Bunny that remained, clicking the trigger and firing off a blast of raw energy that shot out from the side, shrapnel going towards the bunny while trying to embed it's self in the fortress of a virus that has given her more trouble than anything else on the net.

The shotgun spent, the rat continued to run across the network's floor, not giving pause to herself as she tried to distance herself from the IronShield that she had attacked at point blank range...if this didn't do it, then nothing fucking would.

Faced with bad luck in regards to her accuracy, Mask received a threatening-looking shotgun from her operator and set off to deliver the moderately ranged weapon straight to her foes. She pulled the trigger and watched with satisfaction as the blast pierced the IronShield's defenses and extended backwards to reach the Bunny hiding behind it. Mask retreated swiftly after the attack, leaving the final virus reluctant to lower its defense.

Groaning after her performance, the rat navi just stared at the remaining virus on the field. She knew it would have taken more to take out the hulking monstrosity in front of her. Zapring. If I can stun it, this battle is over. She mumbled as her netop sighed, slotting in the chip letting Mask do what she wanted at this point, he was tired of this fight and he wanted to end it as soon as possible. However, she didn't say to not slot in more chips. So, with a quick flick of the wrist, Jack slotted in the DBLCube chip they had gotten for the cannon. It wasn't a sure thing, but a 50/50 chance was better than none at all to damage the virus.

Sighing and breathing deeply, the rodent navi proceeded to tap into the data she had received from her netop, summoning an electrically charged coil onto her arm, pointing it at the virus without a care in the world. Now. Be a good little virus and just sit there. She mumbled to herself, like the virus would listen to her even if she had told it to stay put.

Spreading her legs, the rat grounded herself firmly on the ground and took aim at the virus, the coils lighting up heavily as she pulled the trigger, letting a ring of energy go from the coils and trying to hit the virus. It flew in a straight angle towards the metallic creature before her, flying as fast as it possibly could, trying to hit the virus directly, enough power going behind the attack that it would pierce the shield and damage, maybe even manage to stun it.

As the rodent looked on at the virus and hoped her attack hit dead on, a square creature with two halves to it's self, red and blue, slowly materialized behind Mask and began to quickly and silently flash between the two colors, looking to stop on one momentarily as the netop flipped a coin and wondered if the cube would fire as he caught the coin and opened his palm to see what it landed on.

Off in the distance, Mask can swear she hears someone yell the word "SCIENCE!"

Bloody scientist types. Scilab Net has always been creepy because of them.

And DANG if the decor doesn't fit the theme: precariously-supported beakers line this pathway, full of bubbling substances of various colors (Oooh, that one's a rainbow!) and consistencies. All of them look pretty dangerous. Even if it is in that Skittles kind of way.

Oh, right, then there's the viruses, too.

Mask had just been walking through the network to find more viruses to bust, she found some, as well as a small lab that seemed to be out in the middle of the network. Beakers upon beakers filled with liquids, all unknown as to what they would do should they be thrown or, god forbid, willingly drunk by a lab rat.

Mask, we should quickly get rid of these viruses before we do anything else. Jack said as he watched Mask looking down along the rows of concoctions. Mask wasn't listening to say the least as she began to pick up one of the beakers off the ground, examining it with slight interest in her eyes. Mask! What do you think you- Jack began as he watched the navi proceed to tilt her head back and drink down the contents of the beaker without even thinking about it. Licking her lips and turning to the viruses, she decided to give the liquid a chance to kick in before acting against the viruses.

Overview
1: Drink Beaker
----------------------Turn Splice-----------------------
As mask drinks the red fluid in this particular beaker, it goes down with a delightfully cherry-ish flavor... and then gets stuck in her throat, where it tickles and tingles up against her (simulated) vocal chords, but, oddly, does not make her gag.

Mask is suddenly filled with an urge to speak. To say something, anything. All at once every syllable her mind can conjure tries to force its' way out of her throat, and what emerges is instead a wordless, well-tuned sound, fluctuating artistically in pitch like a singer practicing for an opera.

The display causes the two Ratty viruses to seemingly become enamored with her, as they immediately rush over and start hopping up and down gleefully next to her. One of the Canodumbs takes a pot-shot at her in the meanwhile, and misses.
