Looking for Dubloons

SymmetryMan, despite his mud-covered body, was able to dodge Dubloon's smashing hook. "Urgh, it just disgusts me to see your imperfect arms! | !smra tcefrepmi ruoy ees ot em stsugsid tsuj ti ,hgrU" However, the navi's timing to throw a taunt was completely off when Dubloon was able to hook the navi up with his...hook.

The pirate began his relentless stabs with his cutlass as SymmetryMan was helplessly hung up. "Stop stop! | !pots potS" SymmetryMan pleaded. "Your jagged sword is a sore to my eye! | !eye ym ot eros a si drows deggaj ruoY" Even under immense pain and attack, the navi did not cease talking about his obsession. Before landing the final stab, two triangles appeared on SymmetryMan's hand and the navi proceeded to stab the pirate's arm. Though Dubloon's grip over his enemy loosened, SymmetryMan's last attempt simply wasn't enough to stop the last attack!

"U-ugh! Thank God, just get me out of here away from this freak! | !kaerf siht morf yawa ereh fo tuo em teg tsuj ,doG knahT !hgu-U"

The navi disappeared with a beam of white light, leaving the pirate and whatever SymmetryMan had left behind!

DubloonMan only noticed something was amiss when his sword stopped showing resistance.

"Eh?" he grunted, looking around for where SymmetryMan had disappeared to.

"You took a bit of a beating, but you won, so let's collect our booty." Roger said.

For some reason, DubloonMan seemed preoccupied and trampled over the zenny and ignored the battlechip. Cannonball wasn't as distracted and swooped down to peck at the fresh bugfrags. Fortunately for Roger, the rewards were claimed without requiring his navi to shovel them into a treasure chest - that was more of a celebratory activity.

"Wait! You've taken a lot of damage!" Roger called out to his navi, trying to reason with the pirate.

Apparently charged by the thrill of battle, DubloonMan rushed forward blindly without another thought about his condition.

((Battle 6))
Charging his way through the Science Labs network without a care in the world through a main road, DubloonMan soon found more things to keelhaul. Three Swordy with electrical swords and three Champu with fiery fists soon met his gaze, and put their dukes and blades up to match the battle-drunken Navi. ... Oh, yeah, there was one Magtect in the back that happened to trail along. Not like it wanted to join in or anything, it just wanted friends. So lonely. ;_;

The viral welcome wagon looked a little bigger than usual giving Roger second thoughts about letting his navi continue. Of course, DubloonMan had no such reservations and looked forward to the fight to come.

"Yar ha-har! A little liquid courage t'get me rollin'..." DubloonMan chuckled as he pulled a flask from his jacket.

Roger recognized it as the unintentially inebriating recovery program he added in. Though it suited his navi's character, Roger wasn't so keen on its use, especially considering the number of electrically charged enemies he was about to face. Perhaps getting drunk wasn't the best plan.

After a lengthy swig from the small container, DubloonMan wiped his mouth across his arm and hiccuped. He looked as good as new though his face was flush and his normally stalwart stance had degraded into a wobbly sway.

"Rogerr..." DubloonMan slurred, "GUNS! Gimme me guns on th- On th' double!"

Roger grimaced at the thought of the impending beating his navi was about to receive as he slotted in the first MachineGun chip. This wasn't going to be pretty.

DubloonMan reached deep into his coat with overly exaggerated actions that challenged his balance. Whipping out his arm, he produced his signature flintlock pistol but fumbled with it as it slipped out of his grasp. Catching it before it actually hit the floor, DubloonMan cried, "EAT LEAD, YE BLURRY SONS A' BRITCHES!"

The only thing that didn't seem affected by the Groggy Grog was his firing speed as his finger worked to hammer the trigger as fast as ever, peppering the glassy solar landscape with a hail of metal pellets. Roger was quick to slip in the second and third MachineGun chips seamlessly while his navi continued to fire to the best of his drunken ability.

One of the shots went extremely off course, nearly hitting Cannonball. The parrot let out a surprised "SQUARG!" and flapped away from her master before she really got hurt.

DubloonMan seemed to be enjoying himself immensely as he entered into the second clip of Machinegun rounds. Shots rang off the floor more often than they made contact with viral armor but MachineGun was never a particularly reliable weapon. Both Roger and DubloonMan recognized it more as a tool to incite fear and panic rather than cause direct damage.

The final few shots from the flintlock seemed to bring about a sense of sobering up to DubloonMan's tipsy state. He stopped firing and struggled to regain his footing as the effects of his ale wore off. His teetering also unintentionally made him a harder target to hit as he danced along random paths.

The navi dropped his gun and cluched his head with closed eyes, "Yarrr... Me head..."

Downing a healthy swig of grog from his flask, DubloonMan charged himself up for the massacre and flailed about his signature flintlock. There was such a flurry of shots that it wasn't really much about aiming at all. In fact, the barrage of bullets practically cleared the entire area before the viruses could even get to him in the first place. What a stroke of luck.

When the smoke cleared, DubloonMan stood alone amongst the shiny plates. Roger squinted at the screen trying to pick out where all the viruses had gone. His first reaction was that they must have either teleported somewhere or fled the scene. That opinion soon changed as the glint of zenny caught his eye. There was a small trove of spoils spread over the solar paneling that indicated he must have wiped out the entire group with his trigger happy session. Considering DubloonMan nearly hit Cannonball with a bullet, this was some kind of miracle that Roger had a hard time wrapping his head around. Cannonball was quick to forgive the indescretion with the fresh spread of bugfrags.

"Yar... Where be th' ugly crew a' yeller landlubbers?" scoffed DubloonMan.

Roger answered, "I think you took care of them all."

"WHAT!?" snapped the navi, "I didn't... I mean, I don't remember... Arghh..."

Clearly, the after-effects of his Groggy Grog hadn't completely faded as DubloonMan tried to gather his thoughts and piece together the blacked out portion of his memory.

"You absolutely wasted them with your pistol." added Roger.

"Aye, that I must've..." DubloonMan said, spotting his discarded flintlock near his foot. Beside the gun, the yellow shine of one of the viral swords caught the navi's attention. DubloonMan picked it off the floor and inspected it. It was still in good condition though the yellow colour seemed to put him off a bit.

"What's that?" Roger asked.

"A dagger." DubloonMan surmised, "Looks t' be a fish guttin' knife a' some sort. Could come in handy."

He slipped the tip of the blade carefully into his boot, causing it to disappear. The PET registered the battlechip data and created a new copy of the Elecknife much to Roger's surprise. With nothing else to hold his interest, the pirate set off once more in search for adventure.

((Battle 7))
Further into the SciLab network, DubloonMan trekked into the depths of the area, searching for trouble to stir up. He saw a tall spire with concentric rings up its height located on a raised platform; it looked to be a good place for such an adventure. Around its base were several electrically-attuned viruses, which seemed to be siphoning power from the spire. Some fearsome looking ogre viruses, a few floating cubes, and shock-haired midgets guarded the area. Looking at DubloonMan, they felt threatened, and looked to mobilize an assault if he approached any further.

Whereas lesser navis would have thought twice about engaging in such a battle, DubloonMan took their formation as a challenge that he was all too ready to accept. Not even stopping to gauge his situation, his brisk walk towards the pillar turned into a no holes barred charge into what looked like the leader of the pack.

The clanking of his cannon prosthetic served as the beat of a steely wardrum. DubloonMan leapt at the horned grimace of the ElecOgre with a grin just as toothy as his adversary. Roger was able to slot in a Mudflop in time before his navi made impact, sending a wave of mud splashing in all directions. Shin deep in filth, DubloonMan rained heavy blows with both hook and fist, both still partially imbued with the earthen battlechip data.

"DubloonMan! You're surrounded!" warned Roger while he slipped in a Panelshot for support, "Go after some other guys!"

Looking up from his brawl, DubloonMan's eyes met with the other ElecOgre. The navi reached down deep into the viscous muck with his hand and shouted, "HERE'S MUD IN YER EYE!"

Though he had originally intended to merely lob a small ball of mud, DubloonMan's arm, enhanced by the Panelshot managed to dredge up the entire panel from the floor. The uprooted piece of landscape spun through the air like a square frisbee, spreading more mud every which way. The sight of himself being able to rend the very earth with his bare hands spread a feeling of unstoppable power throughout his being.

His lungs burned to contain his vigor and his voice boomed across the debauched landscape, "YAR HA-HAR! SCREAM FER A QUICK DEATH! I'LL WRING TH' LIFE FROM YER SHRIVELLED HUSKS!"

His taunt echoed all around him, sending a ripple through the thick mud. A chill crept up Roger's spine. His navi was straight up insane and he wasn't sure if it scared or excited him. Either way, the group of stubby viruses was bringing in the calvary in the form of some strange spiked satellites that Roger did not like the looks of. Two CrackerBombs looked like they would be enough to clear them out.

DubloonMan was still wading in a swamp of his own doing when one of the bombs materialized in his arms. Roger had learned to slot them in individually as they were unwieldly enough on their own. DubloonMan hurled the first bomb at the Twistys and barely had enough time to catch the second one that quickly took its place.

"Yo ho ho! A fireworks display ye be wantin', is it?" laughed the navi while tossing the explosive at the same group.

A plume of fire and smoke blossomed where the bombs landed. There were still the two giant cubes that needed to be dealt with but Roger didn't think much of them and DubloonMan assumed they were just part of the flashy electronic landscape.

Tackling one of the ogres, he caught the viruses by surprise, deleting the targeted virus on impact. The chunk of earth he flung at the ElecOgre was not very accurate, however, as it flew over its head. His yell of intimidation later caused most of the viruses to cower in fear, though they were still able to attack for a short time. The Cubes attacked him by firing some beams at him while he threw a few bombs in the Twistys' direction. The carnage took out two of the Twisty, and the cubes' beams missed with all of the vibrations going along with the explosions. The remaining Twisty fired a lightning strike at him, causing a large amount of damage to his systems! (20x2Elec) Meanwhile, the ogre that he missed charged up its attack, waiting for a chance to strike.

DubloonMan's breath was a little short after shouting at that high volume and being struck by lightning. He needed to take a moment to rest up but couldn't help notice the other ElecOgre was still alive and charging some kind of attack. There was truly no rest for the wicked as he reached for something to help subdue that threat.

Roger had picked up enough about virus busting to recognize elemental advantages when he saw them now and took notice of the leafy wood icon on the Rope chip. It was the only wood element attack he had left so he hoped his navi would make it count as he slotted it in. DubloonMan's wandering hand grazed over the newly formed coil at his belt, grabbing it instinctively.

"YO HO HO!" he laughed, lashing out with the viney cord. A wide lasso stretched out to encompass the ElecOgre's fat head and wide horns. He gave the rope a hard yank to close the noose and crush the virus while he moved onto bigger and better things.

The remaining Twisty that managed to survive the bombs was frozen with fear. DubloonMan couldn't wait to cut into his paralyzed foe and felt around his belt for another weapon.

"Yar. Where be me cutlass?"

Roger was quick to comply, sending the chip while wondering when DubloonMan was going to deal with the other blocky viruses. A curved blade and scabbard formed at his belt where the rope had taken shape earlier. Unsheathing it with all the proficiency of a skilled swordsman, DubloonMan closed in on the Twisty, all the while polishing the edge of the sword along his hook.

"Now... How t' deal with ye..." DubloonMan grinned. He toyed with the idea of slowly sinking the tip into the virus's face and revelling in its expression of pain until the last glimmer of life fled from its eyes. There was also the potential of carving off bits and pieces of it to see how much it could endure. There were too many ways to enjoy this. He dangled the Sword precariously over the virus's head.

"DubloonMan." Roger said.

"WHAT?" The navi shouted, unintentionally slamming the blade down and spooking his parrot a bit, "ARRGHH... Look what ye made me do."

"Sorry? Anyways, when were you planning on killing the DBLCubes?" asked Roger.

"Th' what-what?" his navi asked back.

"The DBLCubes. Those big blocks. They tried to shoot you."

DubloonMan turned to face the flashing blocks, pointing at them with his hook, "Those? Those blocks are worth plunderin'?"

"Yes." Roger answered, "There's booty in them."

"WELL YAR HA-HAR! Why didn't ye say so sooner! I'll blast em' open with a little help from Betty!"

Two more Shotgun chips were slipped in as his navi reached into his coat to draw the blunderbuss. Though he was wielding the gun with his hook, he balanced it with great ease.

"Aye lass... Did ye miss me?" DubloonMan cooed to his double barreled antique.

A flick of his wrist knocked the hook against the trigger, firing off both rounds at the pair of cubes.

Dispatching the group was easy enough though DubloonMan was still bothered by the accumulated attacks he had taken. They were just flesh wounds to him, but he couldn't help but feel minorly inconvenienced by them. The pain itself was numbed by the sight of another fresh cache of zenny. He knelt down and grabbed a handful of the shining yellow coins and picked out a purple fragment to feed to his parrot.

"You know, I'm having second thoughts about this network. Everything seems to be working against you." Roger said.

"How d'ye figure that, lad?" asked DubloonMan.

It was going to be a pain in the ass to explain the basics of elemental weaknesses to his navi and the metal terrain and surplus of elec viruses were a deadly combination to DubloonMan, whether he recognized it or not.

"It's just... Don't you feel uncomfortable here? With all the steel floors and electricity?" asked Roger.

DubloonMan stroked his beard. He did miss the call of the sea and this place reeked of something that didn't sit well with him. But at the same time, he was never one to back away from a challenge and there was plenty of that here waiting for him.

"Aye, this wretched place be not fit fer a mahn such as I," DublonnMan answered, "But there be plenty o' booty abound and plunderin' t' be done."

Roger sighed, "Alright, let's finish up quickly and we'll visit the beach again after."

"Yar ha-har!" DubloonMan laughed, "A mahn after me own black heart, ye be!"

((Battle 8))
Ready to plunder the networks further, DubloonMan and Cannonball set out to find more things to keelhaul. A short while later, the sound of a war horn sounded, and DubloonMan found that he was surrounded by three Catack viruses. It also seemed that the horn summoned other viruses, with UFO viruses and Yorts also swooping in from all directions from the sky. Meanwhile, far out in front, a Rush looked at the impending battle, carrying some sort of green crystal around with it. It looked like it was going to run at any time, but it was observing the situation at the moment.

A zenny symbol practically flashed in DubloonMan's eye when he caught sight of the giant green crystal.

"AVAST! WOULD YE LOOKIT TH' SIZE O' THAT THAR CRYSTAL!" DubloonMan exclaimed. He didn't even seem to care about any of the viruses circling him. Roger, however, did.

"DubloonMan, this might be too much for you." he said with a worried tone.

The navi waved off his operator's concerns as usual, never once breaking his gaze away from his prize, "Nay lad, I'll be fine..."

DubloonMan confidently and single-mindedly strode towards to the Rush virus. Even Cannonball, who would have started attacking everything on sight, continued to perch quietly on DubloonMan's shoulder.

"Ju-Just hold on a second!" pleaded Roger. There was something very strange about the virus holding the crystal as it seemed to be suspiciously weak. Not to mention the line of tanks, colourful bladed fighter ships and UFOs. DubloonMan wasn't even bothering to reply at this point which only drove Roger further to his breaking point.

"GODDAMNIT! JUST LISTEN TO ME!" Roger shouted, slamming his fist into the table. His carefully laid out chips popped up a bit and scattered themselves from the impact. DubloonMan stopped to take notice, as did everyone else in the cafe. Roger glared back at the multitude of eyes locked on him to deter the unwanted attention. The other patrons quickly lost interest and went back to their own lives. DubloonMan was still in awe of Roger's outburst.

Roger tried to control himself and spoke with great restraint, "Look. Normally I'm fine with having you destroy everything, but if you want that gem, you're going to have to listen and work WITH me!"

DubloonMan squinted his eye but nodded, "Aye, What be th' plan then?"

It was a strange but pleasant experience for Roger to have his navi listen to his commands instead of the other way around, "Check out your enemies. Being outnumbered isn't something new for you, but too many of them are flying."

DubloonMan was quick to comply and realized Roger was right. In his excitement, he hadn't noticed that he was surrounded. However, DubloonMan's stance changed completely when he saw the UFOs for the first time. He took half a step back and grit his teeth in anticipation.

"Yarrr... Air pirates." he scowled.

"What are you talking about?" Roger asked.

"I know a fellow plunderer when I see one..." DubloonMan spat, "Roger! Ye may be right about treatin' this fight a wee bit differently."

Roger smiled, "Good, then let's start by capturing that gem. Send Cannonball to distract the dog while you steer clear of the air pirates. When you get close enough, whip it to shreds!"

DubloonMan ducked down a bit in preparation to break out into a run and grinned, "Aye aye!"

Running forward as fast as his leg and prosthetic would carry him, DubloonMan kept his eye on the UFOs, ready to avoid their pilfering attacks. He pointed to the virus and gem, allowing Cannonball to skitter across his arm like a runway. The fat bird took off in a straight line and savagely rammed the Rush in a series of rapid jabs from its blunt beak. Loose feathers and rabid squawking filled the air while DubloonMan shifted his attention completely on the virus. He reached into his coat just as Roger slipped in the Varitails chip, equipping the navi with a cat-o-nine-tails. DubloonMan's first strike streaked across the exposed underside of the Rush, several lacerating tendrils raking the air. Maintaining his focus, DubloonMan went in for a second blow. He could feel the durability of the weapon already waning from his vicious attack. Another set of parallel black streaks criss crossed the residual slashes from the last attack before the whip disintegrated in his hand. DubloonMan quickly turned to face the row of tanks, wary of the counter-attack he was about to endure.

The viruses all converged their efforts on DubloonMan while he rushed in, with the UFOs firing a mysterious beam at him, one of them hitting his whip and causing it to disappear! [Varitails1 Disabled!] The Yort launched extremely intimidating bladed yo-yos, one of which hit his shoulder. (10)

Afterwards, the Catacks rolled up from behind him, and unloaded a couple of shells at him. One of them whizzed overhead, while the other did a fair amount of damage to him, his bird, and his quarry. (20/20/20)

The force of the Catack's cannon was too much for him to bear and he began to crumple over. His knees hit the floor, his focus still drawn to the large crystal while the small dog continued to taunt him with it. Normally, such an attack wouldn't have fazed him, but the damage he had been taking had accumulated on his body whether or not he wanted to acknowledge it. He was still only one navi despite his boastful attitude. Perhaps he had bitten off more than he could chew this time?

"SQUARG!"

DubloonMan perked his head up. Even with his hazy vision, he could see Cannonball flapping about the Rush. She was as vicious as ever trying to land a blow on the evasive virus. He remembered his parrot was also caught in the blast and saw that she had taken heavy damage. She was on the cusp of falling apart, but that didn't seem to stop her from trying to destroy the Rush. He pounded the ground to stop himself from hitting the floor. This was despicable. He couldn't give in more readily than his parrot. A glimpse of his empty hand reminded him that his weapon had been stolen from him. Rage fueled his body as he clambered back to his feet. He stood, barely.

"Are you alright!? Can you still fight?" Roger asked.

"AYE! It'll take more than th' likes o' that t' bring me down!" DubloonMan said, reaching into his jacket for his flask and downing its contents.

The scorch marks on the back of his jacket disappeared, as did the laceration on his shoulder. More damage came undone as he continued to drink. The simple program could only repair so much at once and eventually stopped. Parts of him remain scathed, but at least he was back in fighting form, albeit with a flush face and a wobbly stance.

He gave the UFOs the dirtiest cut-eye he could manage before turning to the Rush. He refused to give up on his treasure and the little beast that kept it from him.

"DubloonMan! Stay back from the crystal! The tanks are aiming at you!" Roger said.

The words seemed jumbled in DubloonMan's mind but the order got through okay. The navi stumbled away from the Rush in a daze and reached in his coat for something to shoot it with. He felt around the emptiness of his jacket, patting himself down only to find nothing.

"Where be me- Where my guns are. No- No guns. WHY!?" DubloonMan cried out.

Roger was reluctant to slot in more chips after seeing what the UFO viruses were capable of. "If I send you anything, they'll just get stolen!"

"MORE GUNS!" DubloonMan shouted.

Though his navi was clearly in no condition to plan anything, his demand struck a chord. Roger could bait the viruses into stealing junk chips while he sent his navi the real ones. He had amassed quite a selection of chips and had confidence that this plan could work.

"Okay, DubloonMan. Get ready for Betty." Roger said, slipping in two Shotgun chips and readying a third.

DubloonMan clumsily grabbed his newly formed weapon and pointed it at the Rush. It was hard to aim in his inebriated state, but he pulled the trigger anyways. A second round chambered itself in the gun and DubloonMan was quick to fire that one as well.

Now was the moment of truth. Roger slipped in the Rope chip. If his navi could get this wrapped around the virus, it would certainly seize its movements and seeing as how the virus was half-burrowed, it would be a simple matter of circling the virus with a wide lasso and tightening it before it could escape. He was about to explain the plan but DubloonMan was already in the middle of using the chip. Waving the large lasso around his head in jerky motions, the loop slipped from his hand and unintentionally stretched out well beyond its normal size.

"Get it all the way around the virus!" proded Roger.

DubloonMan lurched forward with the ludicrously loose loop, sending the wide mouth well over the Rush and his support program at the same time. However, he overextended himself when he made his throw and fell forwards onto his face. That didn't stop him from executing the finishing blow as he pulled the cord tight, closing the lariat in an instant.

DubloonMan rolled over and eyed the flying saucers. He stretched out his arms and legs openly and took in a deep breath, "COME AND STEAL FROM ME IF YE DARE! ALL TH' MORE SWEET WHEN I STEAL TH' BEATIN' HEARTS FROM YER FILTHY CHESTS, YE FLYIN' COOKIN' POTS!"

His voice echoed everywhere and seemed to sober him up a bit as he got it out of his system. Sitting back up, he checked to see if the Rush had been caught this time.

Fueled with rage, DubloonMan chugged down his trusty grog, which gave him the energy to push forward. (+90) He brandished his trusty Betty, but the UFOs were on to him, and zapped the gun with their strange rays again! (Shotgun + Shotgun Disabled!) Luckily, Roger had the plan laid out, and sent DubloonMan the real chip that would work on the Rush, which was the Rope chip. He whipped it about the mole, and hit paydirt! Unfortunately, the viruses were also on to him, with the Yorts and Catacks collectively launching all of their attacks at him. Somehow, though, his drunken stumbling let him unintentionally dodge out of the way of a lot of the attacks, taking only a part of the damage intended for him. (10, 10, 20) He shouted out in a powerful burst around him, stunning a good load of the viruses!

"While they're frozen! Attack! Attack! Attack!" Roger ordered, slapping in a Fireburn chip into the PET.

"Eh?" DubloonMan grunted, having not fully recovered from his drunken state. A red gunpowder cask materialized next to him, which DubloonMan used to rest his head and arms for a bit.

"No! Wha- Come on! Snap out of it!" urged his operator.

The navi swatted at the air and grumbled, "Aaaaaagh... Go away."

Roger seemed to be out of options and just blurted out the first thing he thought would get a reaction, "...They're stealing your stuff!"

"WHAT!" DubloonMan bolted to attention, "WHO BE STEALIN' FROM ME!?"

"The UFOs! Get them before they take everything!" added Roger.

DubloonMan hoisted the barrel over his head with relative ease, having more difficulty maintaining his balance than with the weight of the keg. Lurching back to build up strength, he quickly launched the barrel at his enemies with a powerful thrust worthy of an olympic shotput medalist. A streak of black dust lined the path of the giant red projectile as Roger slotted in all the machinegun chips he had. DubloonMan reached into his jacket with both arms, retrieving a pair of flintlock pistols and aiming them to the sky.

"I'll see ye BURN fer yer trechery..." DubloonMan said, unloading a veritable wall of lead into his enemies. One of the shots struck the barrel, causing it to explode in a streak of fire that rolled up into the air. His blurry vision already hindering his attacks, DubloonMan could only aim at vague red blobs with his rapid fire potshots. Less concerned with landing a hit, he was mainly venting his rage. He poured more fury into the attack, slamming the trigger as fast as his programming would allow, assaulting his flying adversaries with a stream of stray shots. When the last lead shell left his pistol and empty clicks were all that filled the air, DubloonMan dropped his arms down and clutched his head. Somehow the attacks had sobered him up.

He looked around and saw the Rush still bound by the rope while Cannonball was still trying to land a solid jab on the elusive virus. He was still surrounded by the tanks but if the UFOs had fallen under his barrage, he would be able to take them out with relative ease.

After a good bottle of grog and some yelling, DubloonMan felt a bit tired, but was roused to action when he was alerted to the UFOs. He threw the keg of gunpowder at the UFOs and Roger unloaded all the MachineGuns they had, with great results, even with DubloonMan's inebriation taking his aim off significantly. The Catack kept firing at him, landing a solid hit. (20) Meanwhile, Cannonball still couldn't get her beak on the Rush, even with the rope binding it, and it looked like it would break free soon.

DubloonMan and Cannonball could both see the Rush was nearing the end of its rope, both figuratively and literally. The navi still had access to the loose end of the top and gave the tether a tight pull before immediately drawing and firing a small pistol from his coat. Cannonball had become intent on finishing off the virus herself - It was making such a fool of her efforts that the fight had become personal. The angry bird refused to give up, relentlessly pecking at the bobbing head of the Rush. The floor around the two was covered in green feathers from all the vigorous flapping the support program had been doing.

"Only two more tanks left. Let's wrap this up." Roger said.

DubloonMan grinned shaking his hook at the Catack to his left, "Aye! It be high time t' give em a taste o' me RAGE hook!"

Taking a hint, Roger slipped the Rageclaw battlechip into the PET. His navi hunched over a moment before raising both his arms in triumph with the surge of battlechip data. His hook ablaze with a faint aura of sorts, DubloonMan charged the Cattack, ignoring incoming fire like a boss. Maneuvering behind the virus was easy enough though the next part of his plan required some elbow grease. He dug his heels into the ground and attempted to tackle the tank like a football lineman. Empowered with the Rageclaw, he had the strength to lift an enemy several times his own weight with one hand and he was eager to use the ability to its fullest. Another forcible flip of his arms would be more than enough to send it flying into its comrade.

"YARRRGGGH!" the pirate shouted.

Roger filled in the next part of the attack himself by slotting in the Dynamite and a Crackerbomb, "Time for some fireworks!"

"Yar ha-har! There won't be enough o' ye t' fill a thimble!" laughed DubloonMan, reaching into his jacket for the bundled stick of dynamite. He gave it a good toss, letting the unusually long fuse trail behind it as it arced through the air. The end of the fuse popped out from the confines of DubloonMan's coat as the explosive landed, bouncing once before sliding to a halt. The fuse spontaneously lit itself and the scorching spark raced its way to the viruses. Meanwhile, the Crackerbomb spawned in DubloonMan's arms though he was still powered by the Rageclaw. He effortlessly lifted the comically large bomb into the air with his hook and bumped it forward. The Crackerbomb and the burning fuse both touched down at the same time, resulting in a unified explosion that rocked the floor and caused the tail of his jacket to flap like a flag in the wind.

"And if ye survived that..." DubloonMan added, probing into his coat once more.

Roger didn't have much else and slotted in the BubbleSpreader, hoping that was what his navi was looking for. DubloonMan withdrew his soaking wet barnacle encrusted blunderbuss and grinned an evil grin.

"Nereid, me beaut', wash away their filth!" he taunted, pointing the gun to the Cattack and unloading a blast of pearly buckshot. It exploded in a rainbow cascade that shimmered briefly before disintegrating into a fine mist. The barrel of the gun continued to leak briny sea water even as DubloonMan holstered the weapon back into his coat.
