Metree...just sorta sits there. Voltman turns part of the field to metal, taking away some of the danger from the glass, but not all of it. And...Metree's just outside the newly created metal zone.

As the circle of metal expanded, Voltman kept his eyes on the small metool, trying to discern what the trick behind it could be. Small usually meant fast, with stronger viruses, but the enemy could also have been programmed with a high-damage attack, and the small size was only to lull the enemy into a false sense of security. Or both.
Shigeru, I'm going to attack. I want you to watch that thing and collect ANY and ALL data you can gather on it.
Right. Shigeru replied, targeting the small enemy on his holoscreen and watching carefully for any response to the onslaught that was about to come.
So, Voltman... do you really think this thing is dangerous?
Only one way to find out... Voltman replied, two spears materializing at his sides. Melting the tip of one with electricity, and converting the tip of the other to pure electricity, Voltman aimed the two weapons at the small virus, using the metal panels beneath him to channel the power of his weapons to double the intensity. With a cry of MOLTEN LIGHTNING SPEAR!, Voltman began his assault on the virus. Magma and electricity filled the area between Voltman and his small foe, and explosions rocked the arena as the projectiles exploded upon contact with the ground. Voltman laid out a widespread volley of shots, hoping to catch the enemy even if it dodged, but as the weapons stopped firing and returned to their normal states, smoking as if they had just been on fire and put out, Voltman couldn't see his small opponent through the smoke.
Alright. If I'm facing a small opponent... Voltman thought, deactivating his Adult.GMO, shifting back into Watt's small form ...then I might as well be small.
As he shifted back to Watt's form, however, the smaller navi's mind took over. Not able to resist any opportunity for a taunt, Watt stuck out his toungue and blew a raspberry at the area where Metree had been, while a barrier of electricity shot out to protect him, courtesy of Voltman.
Overview:
1,2 Molten Lightning Spear (10x10 Elec, 10x10 Fire, x2 due to metal panels = 400 damage, 200 of each element)
3. Electric Drain (60 HP barrier)
4. Dodge (Adult.GMO deacitvated)

Metree was rocked and tossed around by the double attack before he finally ducked into his helmet. Its tiny body went flying, but he still managed to block half of the attack (200 to Metree). It got back up, but the cute look in its eyes had been replaced by an angry glare. Walking back to the metal panels, it raised its pickaxe...which was now molten?!
Metree slammed its pickaxe onto the metal ground, and a wave of fire shot out of the end. Voltman managed to put up a barrier just in time, but the now amplified power of the shockwave destroyed it almost instantly (60 to barrier). Metree sent another shockwave after the barrier was destroyed, but Voltman managed to dodge it.

Watt jumped up and down in a display of childish victory as the diminuitive foe dissappeared in bursts of data, the explosions from his attacks completely obscuring the small met from view. Magma and electricity scattered about the target site of the attack, Shigeru kept an eye on the virus. It had tried to retreat into its helmet about halfway through the attack, but even with that, there was no possible way such a small metool had survived a 400 damage onslaught... was there?
But, as if to contradict all logic and reason (because come on, this is the INTERNET), there the enemy stood, it's pickaxe raised into the air and glowing with... Shigeru stopped, taking a hard look at the weapon. There could be no doubt.
Oh, NO. WATT! MOVE! Shigeru cried through the screen, his image appearing right next to Watt.
Wha? Watt said, mistakenly turning his attention away from the enemy, and getting thrown backwards as the amplified fire attack hit him. Rolling head over heels over head several times, Watt finally came to a rolling stop after getting hit with the attack, his barrier missing but his body unharmed from the vicious attack from the tiny enemy. His eyes rolling about in their sockets, and miniature fishies flying comically about his head, Watt took a few seconds to regain his composure.
Sighing, Voltman activated the Dual Mind Module. Watt's going to need a bit of help on this one...
Shaking the dizziness from his head, and swatting away the irritating creatures flying around his overlarge cranium, Watt stood once more, a toy spear appearing at his side as Voltman tried to acquire some sense of normality in the tiny body. Shigeru was still stunned after the attack, his mouth agape and babbling incoherently.
It... but... that's... and... the... WHAAAAAA?!? He finished, throwing his hands into the air in a sign of mental defeat.
Shiggy, get a grip! Watt cried out, shaking his spear at his operator.
Voltman shook his head again, trying to figure something out. Shiggy? I guess I can't COMPLETELY control this mind after all, even with the upgrade...
Eh, Shiggy... get a grip! The enemy is still there, and I'm not liking the idea of fighting this meanie on my own! Watt's body commanded.
Case in point: Meanie??
Eh... right. Sorry Watt, or Voltman, or... gah. I'll just send some chips. Shigeru finally replied, exasperated, pulling a chip at random out of his pack and sending it to his navi. Or would it be navis?
Anyways, Volt downloaded the chip and was slightly dismayed when he calculated the attack value. Minimal attack. Less, even, than a basic cannon. He sighed, before realizing with a jolt what the rest of the chip was. Grinning, and activating the Bubblestar, Volt facepalmed as his once slightly-imposing spear turned into a kiddie bubble wand toy. The adult part of his consciousness knowing he'd never quite live this down, and the child part just reveling in the fact that he got to use a bubblewand, the chibi-proportioned navi blew three large bubbles, which expanded and flew at the disproportional foe. Then, his extremely imposing bubblewand turning into a spear once more, he laid it flat on his line of sight, and taking aim as if the shaft of the spear was the barrel of a gun, waited for the bubbles to make contact with his enemy.
Come on... just a little farther...
The moment he thought he saw the enemy become enveloped in the strange weapon, he fed a large electric current through the spear and fired it through the point. Blasts of lightning arcing across the expanse between him and his opponent, Voltman fired off a second shot with the extra energy he had gotten from the tiles beneath his feet. More lightning bolts joined the large swarm already advancing on his enemy, and the tiles of metal glowing beneath the attack from excess energy made the Electric Blaze look like an apocalyptic blow to this enemy.
Electric Blaze. The first, and one of the best. Shigeru commented, a tone in his voice that could only be described as pride coming through quite clearly.
Right, right. Volt replied, wincing almost subconsciously as the slight wounds from last battle twinged with pain. Do you have anything that could take care of these?
Uh... not reliably, in any case. I'll send you the DBLBEAM, though. Shigeru replied, sending the double sided chip to his navi.
Activating the weapon for the second time, Voltman could only beg the cube above his head silently as he prepared to dodge the enemy.
Heal me, or finish off that annoyance. I don't care which, but DO IT QUICKLY!
Overview:
1. Bubblestar to Metree (20, Trap)
2. Electric Blaze to Metree (70, Stun, x2 due to metal panels, possible x2 due to bubblestar. Total= 280, and Stun. Elec)
3. DBLBEAM (40 to Metree or 30 Heal to Voltman. Random)

Metree jumps out of the way of the bubblestar, but is hit by the electric blaze attack (140 to Metree). Its eyes narrow as its pickaxe becomes charged with electricity.
The DBLCube lands on red, but doesn't manage to blast Metree until after it sends an electricity-powered shockwave across the metal terrain. Voltman barely manages to dodge...that would have SERIOUSLY hurt if he hadn't...and Metree gets blasted by the cube (40 to Metree).
Suddenly, Metree's pickaxe begins to glow red.

Volt realized, too late, that the Bubblestar had not hit. But the Electric Blaze was already on its way, and there wasn't anything he could do to call it back. The lightning shooting across the final few yards to their target, both operator and navi couldn't help but grin as the attack connected. Bubblestar or not, that was going to hurt. Plus, the stun was going to keep it still long enough for his DBLBEAM to activate. Throwing it into the air, he watched intently the switching colors, waiting to see what effect it would pull. There he would have stayed, too, if Watt hadn't saved their life.
Hey, big brother? Watt asked, jumping to see something in the corner of the large screen of their field of vision.
Sighing, Voltman turned around in his chair. Yes, what is it, Watt? I'm kind of busy.
Oh... Watt responded, slightly dissappointed. I was just going to tell you about the pretty yellow lights in the pre... perf... perferal... side vision!
WHAT?! Voltman replied, now seeing what Watt was talking about. An attack, coming at them. FAST.
Turning, a frightened look in his eye, Volt dived out of the way of the incoming shockwave. Leaving sparks in its wake on the metal panels, Volt realized how high the damage of that attack would have been if it had connected.
Thanks, Watt...
Looking over at the DBLBEAM once more, Voltman just managed to see it settle on red before it erupted in an outward expanding circle of damaging light. Volt just stood there, letting the wave pass through him harmlessly and continue on to blast Metree with minimal amounts of damage. Minimal, but not in any way insignificant. Looking at the enemy's remaining HP, and then checking the cooldown levels on his signature attacks, and then checking his battlechips, Volt realized that this was going to take a new strategy. His spears were still recovering from their original assault, and the swords were being "reforged" in a sense, after the shattering of last battle. Checking his chips once more, he pulled out the two most powerful in his arsenal: The Markcannon and the Powerblast.
Shigeru, send them!
Nodding, Shigeru sent the chips wordlessly. This had better work, or it would be even more difficult to take down this unusual enemy.
First forming the powerblast cannon on his right arm, Volt pulled the ammo out of it, dismissing the weapon and forming the Markcannon on the same arm. Opening the top of the weapon, Voltman viewed the innards of the weapon, before spotting the energy ammunition. Tossing the glowing ball of powerblast ammo up and down once or twice, Voltman brought his hand back and plunged this energy into the hear ot the Markcannon ammo. The two energies combining, they began to swell in the chamber, spitting out sparks and emitting an ominous red glow. If Volt didn't hurry, this thing might explode in his face. Bringing up the aiming screen, several cursors wandered around the screen before all centering on Metree, its diminuitive form soon covered in targeting reticules. Zooming in on the enemy, Voltman saw its pickaxe glowing red, and knew that this was going to be an all or nothing shot. The weapon on his arm whining ominously, Metree's pickaxe emitting red light, and Shigeru laying back and watching the entire battle with interest (the lazy bum...), Voltman took the shot. A massive orb of blue-white energy shot out of the end of the cannon, trailing light behind it due to the speeds at which it was moving. Its homing effect activating, it curved toward Metree, the massive blast threatening to engulf the enemy. A hit, an explosion, and for the third time this battle Metree dissappeared in the aftermath of a deadly attack.
We underestimated it twice. Well, not again. I'm sending you the areagrab and the Shotgun. If it lived, dodge its attack and blast the little bugger.
Grinning, Volt simply replied,
Gladly.
Overview:
1, 2. MarkBlast (Markcannon+Powerblast) (70+90+Lock On+Guardbreak) (160, Lock On, Guardbreak)
3. Areagrab assisted dodge
4. Shotgun, if needed. (50)

((Sorry for the delay, was rather uninspired to do anything recently, and I spent a bit of time debating with myself as to what rewards to give. Still not sure if the rewards are right.))
Metree raised its now glowing red pickaxe and slammed it against the ground, sending a bright red shockwave in all directions. Voltman was too fast, though, jumping over the shockwave and causing it to miss entirely, then blasting Metree with a powerblast-enhanced markcannon. Metree tried to duck into its helmet, but the force of the blast knocked it over, rendering the hat useless.
When the smoke cleared, Metree was gone. Completely.
Well, it'll probably come back sometime, but it's definitely gone for now. Looks like you win. And hey, it dropped something.

Running up to the spoils of the battle excitedly, Voltman was crestfallen when he saw the meager amount of zennies. There was also, however, another rare chip!
That brings my total up to Five chips, now...
Then, looking up, he spotted a group on the horizon. BATTLE AHOY.

Suddenly, 20 viruses come out of the area, they seem to be Metools? However, it seems that their normally black ball heads are replaced by fuzzy beaver faces.

From the moment the... eh... Derptool had cried out, silence had reined in the arena. For once, even Watt had nothing to say. Their mouthes open and their faces in similar states of confusion and disbelief, both navi and operator had been shocked into a state of wordlessness by the appearance of these reprogrammed metools.
Okaaaay... Shigeru, what in the heck are these? And what does DERP mean, for crying out loud?!
Pulling up a search screen, Shigeru quickly typed in the term, and started laughing as links to countless fansites of an ancient game based on the capture of small monsters popped up, with countless images of a ridiculous looking beaver-like creature, with the text "Derp" below it.
Voltman, this is what was known in the beginning of the new millennium as a "meme." A joke that wasn't funny to begin with, had no logical explanation, and yet caused countless causes of amusement among the many people who surfed the nets when they were just so many images and blocks of text.
So what you're saying is that it's the kind of stupid joke that everyone laughs at, but no one really understands? Voltman asked, barely suppressing a grin.
Yes. And some lifeless nerd actually had enough time to capture and reprogram metools to look like this meme. THAT IS FREAKING AMAZING!
Now, the silence was broken by tons of laughter. The thought of some nerd actually having the time to break down what made a metool tick, just to create some strange mix of ancient meme and new virus was just too much for them to bear.
His eyes streaming, Voltman choked to a halt. You know, it's almost a shame that I'm going to have to delete them now. He said, the firesword he had grown to love using shooting out of his arm, its trademark fire not yet coursing over the blade.
Almost.
Watt's small form expanded as Adult.GMO was activated once more, a dangerous glint in the larger navi's eye as he surveyed the enemies, the blade on his arm lighting on fire like a bar of magnesium with a large "whoomph" accompanying it. A grin played across the faces of both navi and operator as they surveyed the grass. Just an open field, with some easily torched obstacles. Like grass. And the Derptools. A vibrating spread across his torso, originating from his glowing emblem. Engulfing his arms and legs, Voltman vibrated even faster, blurring from speed, before dissappearing completely from view. He rushed the enemies with the help of the hyperactivity module, leaving a brief red blur where his sword trailed through the air. A dance of red light surrounded the enemies as he charged his foes, fire scorching the ground at their feet and maybe even the fur on their ugly little beaver-ish faces. A whirlwind of red light had engulfed the enemies in its deadly grasp, but as soon as it had started, it stopped. Standing a few feet away, crouched in preparation for a dodge, Voltman stood. Several blackened strings of material rested on his blade briefly, before being burned away completely. Whether they had been grass or fur, Voltman could not be sure. Several enemies still stood in Voltman's way, but it was only a few. Easily taken care of. Easily torched to oblivion just as their allies had been.
Well, not exactly the same.
Pulling out a spear, Voltman sent several strong pulses of electricity through it. Soon, the tip glowed cherry red, and began to melt. Grinning, he aimed the spear at two of the remaining Derptools and begagn to fire spheres of magma at them at a rapid clip. The air shimmered from the heat of the attacks flying through the small space between Voltman and the Derptools, and explosions rended the air in two with their force.
Voltman looked warily at the burning wasteland he had created, hoping fervently that he would be spared the wrath of the... *snicker* evil beavers before... *chuckle* him... *Full out laughing*
(Author's note: At this point, I couldn't help myself. The concept of evil beaver metools was just enough to crack me up. Now, back to the story.)
Pulling up a red guard with a yellow cross on the front, Voltman aimed it in the direction of the enemies in front of him. Surely, whoever had taken the time to reprogram metools would not have left them without formidable offensive power as well.

The firesword sputtered and steamed as rain began to fall from the Derptool's manuver. Whether they had meant for the rain to douse the flames he had raised last turn, or a greater attack were being prepared for, he didn't know.
For all I know, they may have just been doing something pointlessly, that helped. Voltman thought, as his Firesword gave one last valiant attempt to stay lit before dying out completely. The inner glow of the blade dissappeared, leaving only a blackened husk of sword that would be hard-pressed to cut bread, much less slice viruses into fragments of data. Discarding the spent weapon, Voltman looked on as the field he was fighting on rapidly descended into the descriptive realm of "swamp." Water covered most of the field, with small hillocks of remaining grass here or there, fighting to remain the dominant type of field. A losing battle, as it turned out. When the deluge of liquid ceased, more than half the field was submerged.
Shigeru scratched his head, looking at the changed field with intrest. Voltman, you want chips for this? He asked, preparing the Areagrab and Aquasword.
Eh... maybe. Keep them on standby. He replied, pulling out a spear and drawing a circle of electricity in the water surrounding his small island, Voltman watched the sparks scurry across the rippling surface. I'm going to use these bugger's own move against them. I wonder... he said, grinning with the anticipation of the attack soon to come ...does wet beaver fur smoke when it fries?
I guess we're about to find out! Shigeru replied, getting ready to send Voltman the standby chips in case his manuver failed.
Swinging the electrified spear around to face the two remaining enemies, Voltman sent two giant bolts of relatively slow-moving electricity directly towards them. Arcing across the large pool of water, spreading sparks wherever a stray string of energy came into contact with the liquid, the bolts of doom sped towards their targets. Wherever the death sentences struck the water, they grew in size from their energy speeding through the water and back to itself. Before they would even reach the enemies, they should have doubled in power. The bolts connected with their target areas, a burst of yellow light blinding all who looked directly at it. Thin bolts of electricity shot out every way from the attack site. The enemies should have been eradicated.
Still... it can't help to be careful. I thought that little bugger of a met was dead thrice over before it actually died. Voltman mused, activating the first of the two standby chips.
An orb of water rose out of the water, surrounding the discarded firesword. Seeping into the metal, the blade grew more and more blue, and by the time it reached Voltman, the new Aquasword was completely formed. Latching onto the end of his right arm, the new weapon dripped water slightly as a coating of ice formed on the chilly weapon. Voltman watched carefully as the glow from the bolts of lightning finally faded. His Areagrab at the ready, Voltman watched carefully. If the enemies HAD survived, god forbid, he would be ready to rectify that mistake in seconds.
The fact that he had a Guard2 left was just the icing on the cake.

Voltman was speechless. Kicking one of the fried husks, which were now emitting some unidentified smell vaguely reminiscent of fried turkey, he almost felt sorry for the nerd who could take the time to modify a virus like this. Suddenly, he flashbacked to an image of a bloated volgear, tearing chunks out of the net. The navi behind it was grinning, watching his creation with satisfaction.
It couldn't be... could it?
Shrugging and picking up the zennies, he was left to wonder as he wandered in search of another fight. He was almost to his monetary goal.
(140 HP, bring on the battle!)
(POST EDITED TO BE MORE NOTICABLE. THIS IS WHERE THE BATTLE COUNT WENT SCREWY.)

((...
No... That's reserved for battles beyond number 15...))
"HALT!" shouted a voice, and out of nowhere, 5 Heelnavis sweeping what seemed to be... Broomsticks? came at Voltman.
"We are the Color Cleaner squad! Prepare for battle!" one Heelnavi announced. True enough, the Heelnavi's brooms had different colors, one grey, one red, one blue, one green, and one yellow.
The terrain used to be cracked and stuff, but the Heelnavis seem to mend it to normal with ease.
What very interesting foes.

(SUPER CLEANER RANGERS! GO!
I wasn't expecting to fight Sir Otaku. Just... reminiscing, or something like that.)
Voltman stopped in his tracks as before him stood five colorful heelnavis, holding what appeared to be broomsticks.
Halt! We are the Color Cleaners Squad! Prepare for battle! Cried the center navi, obviously speaking to Voltman. They wielded their brooms like weapons, occassionally flipping them over to sweep the floor, the shadows of the cracked panels lifting up at the touch of the brooms as if they were no more than lines of dust. Soon, the entire arena was completely sparkling, without a broken, cracked, or changed panel to be seen. The Metalzone... would not be that useful here, I think. Voltman concluded, talking to himself as much as Shigeru.
Well, then, Shigeru replied, we'll just have to do this the old fashioned way! Steamblades, go! He cried, slotting in the blades of opposing elements. Voltman threw his arms out, his hands gripping the empty hilts of two swords. From where his hand gripped one, liquid began flowing out. From where his other hand gripped the other, flames began to lick at the hilt. Flowing past the empty handles in Voltman's hands, the water and fire began to coalesce around unseen shapes extending from the empty grips, before engulfing a large area connected to each hilt completely in their respective elements. And in the middle of both cyclones, broad silver swords began to appear. Extending almost five feet from the hilt of either blade, the weapons turned a fiery red and icy sapphire as they were infused with their inner traits.
Alright, you color cleaner freaks, let's see what you've got! Voltman yelled, jumping at the enemies with all the energy he could muster. The elements had left the swords by this time, leaving only a thin coating of ice and a charred handle as proof that they had ever existed, but the touch of an enemy would call their primal fury back. Screaming as he landed, swinging the swords around in a deadly arc of fire and ice, Voltman was an imposing sight to behold. Blurring from the pent up energy granted by his younger self, Voltman sped into action. Slashing horizontally at the enemies nearest him, he couldn't help but question the strength of the brooms these strange navis held. Doesn't matter... he reflected, in the moments he had to think as instinct took over the control of the slash directed at the enemies ...the firesword should still snap them like twigs. Time snapped back to regular speed for Voltman as he finished the slash, and he ran once more around the navis before rolling with the aquasword extended, the twirling blade spinning at chest level while Voltman performed an evasive manuver at the same time.
Propelling himself out of his roll like he had been shot from a cannon, Voltman delivered a slash to the two heelnavis he passed over as their heads, the only evidence of the strike a lingering flame in the air. Then, wasting no time on his landing, he spun and thrusted with the weapon, ripping it horizontally at the foes before jumping back and waiting to see how the strange navis reacted.
That's the power of my weapons, fools! Let this be a lesson learned! You do not mess with... Voltman taunted, before shifting out of his Adult.GMO quite unexpectedly.
...me! Watt finished, giggling and running around the field. Shigeru, seeing this change and facepalming, managed to think past the embarassment to think, hopefully,
At least it might help him dodge something.

Blue and Yellow are the first to fall, Volt's first Aquasword slice fails to hit Grey as he rolls out of the way. He cries out in vain, "BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! YELLLLLOOOOWWWWWWWWW!!!! Oh no, Blue and yellow are down!" Green and Red fall shortly after. "You monster! How could you do that! RARGH!" Grey roars, flailing his broomstick wildly at Watt as he attempts to hit him, but misses, he falls awkwardly and his Broomstick flies from his hand and hits Watt in the nose (10). That's going to smart later~

Watt's eyes teared up as the broom hit him on the nose, before his pupils turned blood red.

Picking up the zennies, Voltman sent them to Shigeru, waiting for a response from his operator. Hearing nothing, he checked in to see him buying upgrades. Satisfied, he waited until Shigeru arrived again, before continuing on to find more viruses, running 25% faster than he had been able to do before.
