(Thankies for fixing the barrier)

Grinning at the group of three enemies that were left, Voltman ran his hand along the blade of his Firesword, the fact that it was his weapon protecting it from its searing heat and razor sharp edge.
Alright, viruses. You may have taken down my barrier, but now I take down YOU!
Shigeru shook his head at his overdramatic navi, slotting in the Areagrab chip and the Aquasword.
Activating the Aquasword, Voltman crossed the opposing element blades in front of him, steam rising as they both fought to impress their element upon the other. Uncrossing the blades, Voltman activated the areagrab and dissappeared in a negative-image blur. Reappearing behind the virii, Voltman took no time in slashing wildly at the viruses with his Aquasword in a horizontal line, then he delivered a fierce rising diagonal slash with the Firesword to the three viruses as well, using the momentum to lead himself into a backwards flip. Recovering from the manuver, he charged forward a last time, slashing with the Firesword once more, before turning around and gently blowing the small amounts of rising steam from the tips of his blades as an old west cowboy would blow smoke away from the barrel of his gun.
Nice. Shigeru commented, having observed a job well done.
But it might not be over yet. Voltman commented, turning back to the viruses. Thick clouds of steam from where he had slashed obscured his view, but he was pretty sure he had gotten the job done.

Voltman scooped up his winnings, sending the cash and new chip to Shigeru.
Well, it would appear that our luck is turning. We're doing well, so far.
Yes, but we're only as powerful as we train to be. Keep going!
Voltman nodded, and ran deeper into the net.

(Heh. You'd think I, of all people, would remember that.)

Skidding to an abrupt halt, Voltman viewed the newest gang of viruses he encountered with a tactician's eye.
A large group of viruses... and Wood element viruses. My Electric Drain barrier will be of little to no effect if one of them hits it, so they should be our top priority to delete. The others should come next, after my safety has been guaranteed by the addition of a barrier.
Uh... okay. Shigeru replied hesitantly. We just got a new chip that might help you. I'm sending it now.
Voltman downloaded the chip, and recoiled in confusion as his scans showed it to be a recovery chip. How would that help him? He was about to ask, when the programming started to spin between healing and damaging like a roulette, eventually settling on an attack that would damage every enemy at once. But before he could activate it, the same roulette of randominity started up once more. Trying to keep track of when the damaging effect came up, Voltman soon came to the conclusion that it was like trying to predict the roll of a die, or the flip of a coin. Nigh-impossible. Grinding his teeth at the thought of having to use such an unpredictable chip, Voltman gathered the energy in his palm nonetheless and thrust his hand towards the sky, fluctuating Red and Blue energy flying from it in waves. Then, pulling in his hand, he prepared for the real challenge: taking care of the Boomers.
Shigeru, send me the Metalzone. Voltman stated, already activating the Hyperactivity Module. Feeling the chip download, Voltman gathered up as much of Watt's energy as he could muster at once, zipping behind the viruses before activating the battlechip. The wave of metal washed over the ground as it had before, and as it finished Voltman was already pulling out two of his trademark spears. Running a current through them to heat them up to a molten level, Voltman held the two weapons as if they were two rapid-fire machine guns, blasts of molten metal flying from the tips of the weapons. SAving the rest of Watt's current energy for later, Voltman discarded the melted spears for better dodging ability.

Overview:

2. Hyperactive Metalzone (Create large Metal area centered on Voltman, viruses in field due to Hyperactive approach)
3. Molten Spear to BoomersA-E (20x2 due to weaknessx2 due to metal panels= 80 damage each, Fire)
4. Dodge
*1/2 Hyperactive actions used*
The DBLCube flashes between red and blue, and lands on blue, sweeping a healing beam over Voltman, but does nothing since Voltman was at full health, darn.
Voltman takes care of all the Boomers in a single rampaging attack. The Kabutanks fire their bombs at Voltman, one missing, one hitting.

Voltman flipped to the side as he spotted an incoming bomb, dodging the explosion by mere inches. Standing and grinning, he was about to start his next attack run when he spotted a second bomb moving towards him. His eyes widening, he turned to run, but too late. The explosion engulfed him, dealing minor damage but causing him severe pain.
You... he started, pointing at the Kabutank that had hit him ...will pay for that dearly.
Give 'em a taste of REAL power, Voltman! Shigeru called out, sending his navi the Aquasword and Areagrab.
Voltman activated the sword, gripping the handle of the azure blade firmly for his next two strikes. Using more of Watt's energy, he charged at the enemies. The slight burn and impact wounds all over his body giving him even more reason to attack, the distance between the Kabutanks and Voltman closed quickly. Trailing drops of water behind him from his Aquablade, Voltman focused intensely on the job at hand. He would have to stop at exactly the right time...
Now! Shigeru yelled, and Voltman deactivated the program. Slashing at the two Kabutanks, Voltman kept on his momentum and flipped over where they had been a moment previously, turning around in midair to face the Markcannons. Activating the areagrab, no sooner had Voltman landed and looked at his next targets than he disappeared, leaving a negative image of himself where he had been only a moment previously. Appearing near the Markcannons, the Aquablade performed it's deadly dance once more at Voltman's command, water and data flying everywhere.
Now, be ready, in case any of them survived! Shigeru yelled, trying to spot if anything had survived the slashes.
I know! Voltman replied, rolling to the side and pulling out one of his trademark spears. Converting all of its data to raw electric energy, Voltman gathered an orb of the electricity in between his palms, pulling electric energy from the tiles beneath his feet to power up his attacks further. Had anything survived... they wouldn't much longer.

Battle four
READY STEAD GO!!!!
Walking forward, Voltman felt a shudder run through his programming. The battle routine had been executed. There could be only one logical reason: Viruses had appeared. Shifting his feet, Voltman prepared to charge at the viruses and envelop them in a metallic field, when he noticed the floor beneath him was already silvery and reflective. Looking aroun the field on which he was to be fighting this newest batch of internet spawn, it was easy to spot the lines and blobs of metal crisscrossing the field, giving the battle the appearance of some strange modern art project. Tearing his attention away from the field on which this battle would take place, the schizofrenic battler turned his gaze to the opponents for this fight.
Four purplish, rounded viruses with enlongated cannons protruding from their front swerved left and right, firing off bombs that exploded sideways every few steps. To their left, a group of four cannons stood, their shutters opening and closing as they took aim at fired at whatever entered their attack range. And four gruesome horned heads floated amongst the enemies, lightning arcing between them as their energy gathered for an attack.
Shigeru, this is going to be difficult. With this many enemies, it's going to be hard for me to take them all down in one turn, or maybe even two, and not taking any damage from their attacks is going to be even more difficult. Voltman said, scratching the back of his head.
Yeah, well, if it's any consolation, we don't have to bother with the MetalZone this time. Shigeru said, highlighting the patches of metal with a digipen via his holoscreen.
Voltman looked at the metal panels, nodding slowly. However, Shigeru, this also gives our enemies an advantage. Before, when one of those Ogres hit me, it took down the Drain barrier with a single hit. The metal panels CAN be used against us, remember.
Then, if those enemies are the problems, take them out first! Shigeru cried out, tapping each of the four enemies once to target them.
Right! Voltman said, throwing his arms out to expel an aura of electricity around himself. That should offset one, or even two attacks. It might buy us enough time to take these enemies out before they can deal severe damage.
Right! Now, let's go!
Hyperactivity, activate! Voltman yelled, his eyes flashing white as the dual mind program took control. A mad smile crossing his face, Voltman downloaded the Firesword and laughed maniacally as the crimson blade shot out of his wrist, his hand being replaced by the razor sharp weapon. Swinging the new weapon faster than the human eye could follow, a red trail in the air was the only indication that he had done anything at all. His eyes flashing between calculating, he let out one more laugh, childish tones and adult laughter coinciding, before he vanished in a blast of yellow light. A streak of gold could be seen heading for the elecogres, leaving sparks in its wake and a flaming trail in the air where the sword had passed. Stopping at the enemies, he continued to move at speeds approaching supersonic, his blade rending gaps in the air where it had passed from the speed of its travel. A circle of fire, a deadly dance of crimson light around the Elecogres, and it was over. Voltman stood several feet away, having vaulted off of his sword to dodge any possible counterattacks, grinning sadistically at the enemies that had posed a slight threat to him only moments before.
Threats no more, however. I'd be surprised if there was anything even remotely close to left... Voltman mused, the tip of his sword drawing circles in the ground as he twirled it absentmindedly.
They will not trouble me any more.

Voltman crossed his arms in front of himself instinctively as the shots spiraled through the air towards him, bracing for impact as the attack came. There was no time to dodge, the attacks were coming in too fast. He barely had time to turn as the attacks spun around him, only catching a glimpse of the attacks as they came near, and disappeared in a cloud of gray smoke as they connected and reacted unfavorably with his barrier, exploding immediately. As the mass of debris cleared, Voltman was still standing in the middle of it, his barrier having a severe chunk taken out of it. Opening his eyes after the impact, Voltman saw the same targeting reticules that had marked him for a blasting sliding over the metal and normal floor, homing in on the same target for a second shot.
Time to move. Voltman stated, dashing towards the cannons. Weaving and dodging, Voltman saw slight cracks running down his Firesword from the extent to which it had been used. It wouldn't last much longer, he knew. Maybe another two slashes. Three, at the most.
Better make the most of it.
Go, Voltman! Shigeru cried out, slotting in the Areagrab. Take out the cannons!
Voltman nodded, giving Shigeru a thumbs up and a determined look before disappearing in a negative-image flash of light. For Voltman, it seemed as if time had stopped, the moving reticules slowing to a crawl and all sound disappearing. He jogged over to behind the Markcannons, looking back with momentary interest at the negative image of himself where he had activated the chip. A movement in the middle of the large field caught his attention, drawing his gaze away from the enemies frozen in time. The quick moving reticules had begun to inch their way across the battlefield, signaling that the chip's effect was wearing off, and Voltman was returning to normal speed. Readying his Firesword for battle, Voltman deactivated the chip before it deactivated on its own. Immediately, the red targeting circles began to zip across the field once more, heading for the location where their target had just disappeared from.
Yeah, you keep looking over there. You know what you'll find? NOTHING!
Grinning from the exhilaration granted by the knowledge he had eluded an impending strike, Voltman channeled his sudden burst of energy into his attack, slashing with as much strength as he could muster at the cluster of viruses that had almost damaged his barrier to the point of deletion. The air above the viruses shimmered with heat as the Firesword worked its magic once more, slicing through all it came into contact with. Red and orange flames enveloped several pieces of dislodged data, engulfing them completely within seconds. And as the attacks ended, the Firesword shattered, leaving only small, red-hot shards of metal scattered around the area where it had fallen apart.
Dang. I was hoping it would last longer than that... even if I wasn't necessarily expecting it to...
Should I send you the Aquasword? Shigeru asked, preparing to activate the chip.
No, not yet. Voltman replied. But have it ready.
Then, being careful of any surviving Markcannons, Voltman prepared to dodge incoming bombs from the Kabutanks. His barrier would protect him from one hit, but he'd like to save it for a time when he wasn't expecting an attack.

Tearing through the Markcannons with relative ease, Voltman could almost feel some satisfaction through the bitterness of losing his Firesword, even if it was only until the end of the battle. Kicking one of the shards at his feet, he was shocked back to reality as his barrier let out a whine and disappeared, the explosion from a Kabutank having removed the last of its diminishing HP. Seeing the four enemies just standing in place, launching bombs at Voltman, he rolled to the side and prepared to attack.
Alright, this is the end. Shigeru, send it now! Voltman yelled, dismissing the stub of Firesword still active on his arm.
Aquasword, activate! Shigeru cried out, dragging the matching icon onto the image of his navi, downloading the chip.
As the battlechip activated, the small amount of weapon still attached to Voltman's wrist began to vibrate and let out a subtle humming. Confused, both Navi and Operator looked around, seeing the shards of sword on the ground do the same. Suddenly, and without warning, a piece shot at Voltman and reattached itself to the broken hilt. And another. And another. Then, all of the pieces rose into the air, shooting at the rapidly growing blade and glowing blue. Then, as suddenly as it had started, it stopped.
What in the world? Shigeru asked, bewildered, as Voltman simply stared at what had attached itself to his wrist in wonder.
Where there had been only moments previously a shattered and diminished Firesword, a new weapon appeared. It's blue blade gleaming like purest sapphire, the Aquasword was just as deadly a weapon as the Firesword, a thin layer of ice coating the blade and water dripping from its tip. Voltman would have warped behind the enemies, or ran behind them with his Hyperactivity upgrade, but both options were unusable for the time being. With no other choice, Voltman simply began running. His barrier exhausted, his speed regular, Voltman weaved and bobbed among what he predicted to be a hail of bombs, speeding towards the enemies while doing so. Reaching the enemies, Voltman grinned. Close combat was one thing Kabutanks did not excel at. His arm twitching from the effort of not slashing right away, Voltman thrust his icy-blue weapon into the air, the frozen liquid surrounding the blade shattering and raining down around him.
Now, it's over. Voltman said quietly, and began his attack. Waves of water cascading from the weapon every time it rent the air in two, liquid splattered the ground all around the site of the massacre. The ground, soon covered in water, sparked with electricity as Voltman lost control of his own powers and flooded the area with a second element: electricity. Letting out a primal yell, Voltman unleashed a deluge of watery attacks upon the enemies, the Aquasword almost lost sight of in the masses of water and flying data. Then, letting out one final vertical slash, Voltman used the momentum to plant the sword in the ground, detatching it from his arm as he vaulted over the enemies and landed on one knee, turning to view what was left.

Picking up the varied spoils of the battle, Voltman activated a routine scan to check for any viruses in his area. A large blip, indicating a powerful virus or possibly a few, appeared on the screen, so he headed off in that direction.

(BATTLE FIEV, BABY. BRING IT AWN.)
Voltman approaches the large blip and finds...a tiny metool?

It was half the normal size, but other than that definitely looked like a normal metool. It carried a normal-sized pickaxe, though, with "Metree" inscribed on it.

Well, the "blip" was definitely this thing. Could Voltman's scanner be acting up?

Also, there are patches of glass scattered across the field. Shouldn't be too much trouble, but breaking them would be bad nonetheless.

Metree: 500

Voltman: 140

Terrain: 20% Glass, 80% Normal
Looking at the diminuitive creature before him, and then at his scanner, and at this "Metree" again, Voltman wasn't fooled. This thing was more powerful than it looked. His scanner never lied. And this was teh internet: appearances could be decieving. Take Watt, for example.
Shigeru, on the other hand, wasn't as certain. It was a tiny metool, what was the worst it could do? Hit Voltman with its tiny little pickaxe?
MetalZone. Voltman ordered.
Right! So you can hit it with a Lightning spear! Shigeru commented triumphantly.
No, so I can get rid of the glass. Just send it. Voltman said, his face in his palm.
Fine... Shigeru commented, sending the chip. Voltman let the metal spread out, turning panels of glass and normal tiles to steel before his eyes.
Once it had stopped, however, the only thing he kept his eyes on was the little metool.
There has to be a trick. HAS to be.
