GigaMan gets... GIGATIZED

"We make a good team!" Julius cheered as the battle came to a close. The fact that GigaMan had to go with his idea brought him a certain type of joy, as if he had won something.

"Team? I don't know about that. I've already began holding up my end of the bargain. I've won you battlechips, and zenny. Now when I return to the PET, I expect to have some upgrades to this excuse of a Navi I'm in.""

"You'll have to recognize me eventually. Without me slotting in those chips, you'd be having a hard time out there." Julius was slowly calming down from earlier. Realizing there's nothing that getting upset or angry could fix at the moment. Who knows what the future held, he just knew that he wanted to continue battling, because it was an amazing experience. "Let's continue for how."

GigaMan nodded and walked across the cracked panels, to continue his path further in the ACDC. What dangers looked ahead?

((Requesting battle 5))
As GigaMan continued to walk along the unsteady terrain, the footing became significantly more solid and something akin to a road came into view. What also came into view; however, was a slightly disturbing sight. A Spikey, or what's left of one, was laying next to the road, with what appeared to be a Metool nearby. But upon closer inspection, the Metool was using its unusually serrated mattock to tear bits off the corpse, then occasionally huddled and twitched over its data pile as if it was consuming what it managed to "mine" from its viral source. Another data pile, thankfully without an associated corpse, lay off to GigaMan's right.

A few moments later, GigaMan could hear the thundering rumble of an engine come the right side of the road. The odd Metool, which had strange blade-like growths sprouting from its heavily damaged helmet, also heard the noise and seemed to become much more on edge as it brandished its mattock defensively, having not yet detected GigaMan's approach.

It didn't take long for the source of the noise to come into view; surrounded by a trio of galloping Spikey viruses was a HeelNavi, but its entire lower body was somehow converted into a two-wheeled motorcycle-like vehicle, sporting several angular chrome exhaust pipes, which produced the throaty rumbling of the HeelNavi's internal engine. "The hell is this? You damn bottom-feeder!" the HeelNavi bellowed towards the Metool, but he soon caught the approaching Navi in his sight. "Now this is between me and the rat that killed one of my dogs, you stay out of this, boy!" he hissed as he tried to wave off GigaMan with the MachineGun that quickly manifested over the HeelNavi's right arm.

Spikey viruses are a little faster than the average virus, allowing them to cover more ground than normal with movements and dodges. They may attack while moving, but as normal, they cannot attack while dodging without expending a second action to do so. Spikey viruses are also able to use something called 'pack tactics' when 3 or more of them are present. Simply put, the Spikey viruses attack and dodge as a wolf pack. In addition, they are treated as having a reduced power Haste and Accuracy Enhancement effect which grants them a +5% bonus to evasion and accuracy while this effect is active. The effect is passive, and only expires when their numbers drop below 3.

"We should leave them be, and look for a fight elsewhere..." Julius chimed in as the HeelNavi ordered them away.

GigaMan ignored his wanna be operator, and held one of his blasters facing the MotoCycle Navi. "You best watch who you're pointing that weapon at, because I'm really not the one." A golden light glowed from the hole in the navi's hand, but a shot wasn't fired. Keeping his hand pointed at the opposing Navi and it's pets, GigaMan bent down to inspect the corpseless data pile beside him. If there was something good in the data he would hopefully be able to take it for himself.

"Metool... why don't you come over here and lend me your power? You must be strong to have taken out that Spikey over there." With his free hand, GigaMan motioned for the deformed Metool to come assist him. Surely this would further irritate the Motorcycle Navi... but GigaMan intended to find out what exactly this Metool was devouring, and see if it was anything that could provide him with even more power. Unsure of how the enemies would react, he dropped his firearm and surrounded himself in a somewhat powerful barrier, hoping it would keep him safe if the HeelNavi and it's fellow Spikeys began to attack.

The motorcycle-HeelNavi hybrid responded to GigaMan's threat in kind, by pointing the MachineGun back at him. "All I'm pointin' at is a gaudy little city-slicker who needs to mind his own damn business. Get steppin', boy, unless you wanna be dog food," the Navi growled as his "pack" did the same, though their focus seemed entirely on the fidgety, predatory Metool.

While they had their standoff, GigaMan inspected the data pile. It was thankfully not as visceral as the pile the Metool had been actively preying on, consisting instead of bits and pieces of tiles, shards of objects, and the occasional chunk of leftover virus. On closer inspection; however, he did find a glowing, yet heavily damaged, battlechip data packet. An IceSeedDamage: 10 + Small Sea Terrain Change / Medium Sea Terrain Change

to be exact. It looked usable, but far too fragile to use more than once.

The Metool briefly responded to GigaMan's voice, or at least its errant twitching made it seem that way. It briefly made eye contact with the Navi, one of its eyes was the standard white hoop, but the other side of its face was heavily damaged, and its other eye replaced with a glowing crimson one. It didn't move from its prize, and the Moto Navi looked to have had enough of the impromptu attempt at an alliance. "Alright, I warned ya. Sic 'em!" the HeelNavi ordered, which prompted the three Spikey viruses to howl and charge forward.

The first Spikey took the shockwave head-on, which passed between the other two, and hit their master.

The Navi grunted in pain as electrical arcs shot across his motorbike lower torso, but it didn't stop him from opening up with a burst from his MachineGun. Two of the shots went wide, but the third crashed into GigaMan's barrier, bringing it down nearly as quickly as it appeared.

The Spikeys mounted a counterattack of their own, and fired a trio of fireballs at the Metool. All three hit their targets, which reduced the corpse of their alleged comrade to ash. The explosions made it seem the Metool would've added to the ash pile, but as the smoke cleared, the Metool's singed helmet could be plainly seen; it seemed it wasn't damaged enough to shrug off attacks when protected by its helmet.

"You chose to stand against me, now face deletion." GigaMan laughed a horrid... evil sounding laugh, that twisted itself into a viral roar. "Chips, now!" The command came as he picked up the fragil IceSeed data, holding it for a time where he may need it in this battle. He then shiftly made his way over the the helmeted virus. Since it had attacked the other her Navi and spikeys, Giga assumed it to be friendly, atleast for now. If they were closer together, it was a chance that the Metool could take attack's for him while it was hiding. He couldn't stand too close or the Spikey'e flame would spread behind the virus.

By now, Julius had slotted in a chip. It was the triple exploding EnergyBomb. The Navi thought it to be a good choice from the human, due to the cluster of enemies. The bomb appeared in his left hand, which he used to causally toss the glowing explosive towards the centerpoint of the HeelNavi, hoping to catch as many of his enemies in the explosion's radius as possible.

"Don't get deleted over thete" He said to the virus, I'm counting on you to survive. " knowing there was more firepower coming his way, He would tried to anticipate it, and dodge backwards hoping to be unscathed.

The MotoCycleNavi continued firing as GigaMan moved towards his unwitting ally, but the inaccurate weapon only managed to score a single hit. GigaMan's answer to the gunfire was much more accurate, and exploded right at the HeelNavi's wheels. While the foe managed to hang on after the first two explosions thanks to his UnderShirt NCP, the third caused him to EJO in a beam of light.

The Spikey viruses briefly paused at their master's abrupt departure from the network, but continued to press on with their assault while the Metool popped out from under its helmet. In the resulting volley of fire and electrified shockwaves, nearly everyone took a hit. Two of the three Spikey viruses were briefly staggered by the Metool's shockwave, and while one fireball aimed towards the Metool went wide, the second crashed against the cannibalistic virus. The Spikey that remained untouched tried to suppress their other enemy, GigaMan, by pelting him in the chest with a fireball.

GigaMan reeveloped himself inside of his Barrier after taking a hit from the enemies machine gun. He let out a laugh after the successful deletion of his foe, "I told him I'd delete him. You dogs are next."

"I'm sending sending you the TwinFang. Take out the weakened Spikeys if you can. They are moving pretty fast...". Julius inserted the chip

"Stop telling me what to do human." GigaMan responded coldly. Yet, their minds were on the same track at that moment, because he was thinking the same thing. Julius was getting the hang of battling fairly quick, the fact that he enjoyed it was helping him catch ion quick. The data came, he took aim, he fired. One fang flew towards the weakest of the three pack animals. While the second glid through the air looking to eliminate the other weakened Spiky. GigaMan hoped to bring the opposing numbers down to one.

"Why don't you just stay in your shell and let me handle this." The vial Navi gestured by placing his right hand atop of his head, imitating a helmet like appearance. Not wanting to sacrifice his Barrier to another volly if fireballs, he would jump to his right looking to avoid the possible incoming balls of flame.

A green spark flickered across the Metool's helmet, which seemed to restore a small amount of the cannabilistic virus's energy. However, the Spikey pack didn't let up on their assault, this time all three targeted the mutilated met. The Metool slammed its curved mattock to the ground, sending out an electrical shockwave while Spikeys launched their volley of fireballs. The Metool took all three hits dead-on, but its shockwave managed to electrocute and bring down the weakest of the pack.

GigaMan brought up his defenses, and coincidentally the Metool did so as well. However, instead of hiding under its helmet like GigaMan would later advise, several of the dark blue metal shards embedded in its helmet creaked and chirped before they snapped off. If GigaMan cared to inspect, the sites from which the shards snapped off looked... infected, yet integrated with the virus's program. This made it seem like the shards weren't the result of shrapnel lodging into the virus's helmet, they grew from within. Instead of clattering to the floor, the shards remained suspended in the air and slowly orbited the virus, as if caught in a miniature gravity well or a very strong magnetic field.

With the pack now down to a pair, the Spikey viruses showed some distress from the numbers evening up. While GigaMan's first fang went wide, the second speared into the then weakest Spikey's chest, causing it to collapse like a sack of bricks. The last Spikey, who had somehow avoided damage in this battle thus far, looked at its fallen packmates, then belted out a frenetic roar.

"If i were you, I would leave." GigaMan exhauled, ready to put everything he had left in the next series of attacks. "You're a pretty strange Metool..." His gaze dipped and examined the infected looking creature. Then again... he wasn't exactly normal himself.

Without speaking this time, Julius slotted in two more chips for the Navi to make use of.

"I see you learned to hold your tongue, that is more like it." He showed little gratitude for the new weapons but chose to activate them all the same. With a deep breath, he concentrated, and focused on the remaining Spikey virus. Behind his helmet, GigaMan's red eyes narrowed and closed in on his target, while a golden aura like light surrounded his body. Once he felt he had locked in on the pack animal, his body shot forward as the golden glow mimicked the shape of a fishy looking to pierce through and decimate the remaining virus.

Whether the attack connected, GigaMan would find himself a few panels down, away from where he had started. If he had managed to miss the speedy little animal, then he would once again point a cannon blaster towards the enemy. This time he fired off a fast precise shotgun blast that was sure to at least injure the Spikey if it made contact.

Though the lone Spikey's frenzied immolative attack managed to hit its cannibalistic target, the blast was mostly dissipated by the metal shards that centered themselves at the impact point. Said shards were reduced to molten puddles, but the Met was left unharmed. The Spikey; however, fared less favorably. GigaMan's golden charge careened through the Navi, causing it to essentially rupture at its midsection in an explosion of data.

It was obvious the shotgun wasn't necessary against the former Spikey/now debris field, but there was still one viral entity left on the field. The Metool strained and twitched as more slivers of metal emerged from its heavily damaged body, then broke off to begin their slow orbit around the Navi, just like the now melted ones did moments before. It glared at the Navi, and brandished its serrated mattock defensively, as if expecting the Navi to turn on it next.

((Loot Spikey Corpses? [Y]/[N]))
It was very unusual for GigaMan to show any sort of compassio... from what Julius had seen anyways, but for some reason around this particular virus... he seemed interested. The Navi slowly took one step towards the strange uneasy Metool. "You do not have to fear me. I have taken a liking of you. You are not of any Metool I seen in years past. You have proven yourself a strong fighter. I need ally's in my newly weakened state, I want to become stronger. Stronger then any being on the net. That is my conquest. Will you aid me!? Or will you fight me now?"

Awaiting a response from the virus. GigaMan walked towards the remaining Spikey corpse. The Metool couldn't be bound to the Navi without a proper .SP core... but the offer still stood anyways. Had the virus not turned it's weapon towards him, he would decide to search the fallen wolf for anymore goodies"

((Not level 5 so sadly I won't get those 19 frags. Yes))
The Metool's mismatched eyes darted between the Navi and the succulent corpses, and hissed as GigaMan approached. However, it seemed the Navi was determined to intrude on the Metool's meal. That said, the strange metool didn't attack, though it didn't look at all pleased how this battle turned out. It continued to twitch and point its mattock in a threatening manner towards GigaMan for several seconds, but its apparent instinct for self-preservation got the best of the squat virus.

Without a word, it turned and ran in an oddly jittery waddling gait, and scuttled out of sight. As GigaMan continued to comb through the remains of the battle, the corpses of the two remaining Spikey bore not much else, just some leftover data to the sum of 100z
Julius wouldn't see, but under GigaMan's mask looked a face of disbelief. Did he not show enough stengeth to show that he could off offer the strange Metool protection. Anger overcame disbelief and the Navi continued looming for something else to destroy.

"It's time to jack out now." Julius started, "We managed to get a good haul for now. Let's do more later"

"HELL NO! WERE DONE WHEN I SAY WERE DONE." The viruses voice over shrouded the words stronger then usual. As he stomped the grounds of ACDC looking for more prey.

"Geez..." Julius complained in a low tone. GigaMan was in a weakened state, and wasn't think straight. Who knew what kind of danger awaited them deeper into the net.

((Requesting battle 6))

Infuriated and pressing on despite his injuries, GigaMan found himself passing through a better maintained area of the net before too much longer. A broad path or well-kept ground was edged on either side by two broad green fields, each with a small, artful fountain set into the middle of them. It would make a nice sports or play area ,probably.

Just ahead of him, a small huddle of yellow helmets came into view, apparently conversing. alongside them was a large four-wheeled machine that looked like some cross between a tank and a monster-truck. At first he could see five more or less normal metools alongside the tank — though two of them were wearing bullet masks rather than carrying their normal pick-axes... but as he got a little loser her could see that they were all apparently listening to the instructions of a fifth. This one was wearing a cloth wrap tied about itself, somewhat like a cloak, though it was ragged at the edges and looked well worn. It was talking in indiscernible viral language, scattered with a regular seasoning of 'meeps', and gesturing in different directions with its pickaxe. The tone sounded authoritative and serious, but vaguely comforting at the same time. The other metools nodded to it, and to each other.

The cloak-wearing leader nodded one more time, somewhat solemnly to them, then turned and began to stride away up the road, cloak catching slightly in the breeze, while one of the others jumped up into the pilot seat of the large tank contraption — the cockpit seemed perfectly sized for a metool, as it turned out. They all started to fan out, as though beginning to search for something, but saw gigaMan almost as soon as they did. there was a tense moment of surprise, as they watched the newcomer.

Mettank V1Mettank V1 (Mettank)

A Mettank is a combination of the Metool, Catack, and Armadillo viruses. It looks a lot like a regular Catack, with several notable differences. The main body of the tank is slightly smaller, and the tank's driver is very clearly an actual Metool, though it doesn't bear its signature weapon. The vehicle itself is colored to match the Metool-driver's Helmet; thus the most basic version is gold with green trim, while more powerful versions will be colored differently to follow suit. The tank itself retains the same basic design as a Catack, except that its triangular treads have been replaced with four almost comically over-sized monster-truck style armored wheels, and its main gun now sports two long, narrow tines jutting out vertically up and down from a point close to the muzzle. These make it look rather like a giant version of a Metool's pickaxe, and the cannon is also now housed in a vertical pivot that allows it to adjust up and down, or even swing with enough force to strike the lower tine to the ground.

Most of the time, the Mettank moves very slowly, and it has been seen to activate a defensive mode wherein the Metool-driver's helmet expands to a jumbo size large enough to cover the entire tank in its protective dome. This does, of course, render the virus utterly blind, and when specifically guarding like this it can no longer attack or move.

It has also been seen, occasionally, to display sudden feats of unexpected speed, where it will rev up, then suddenly ram a target. At these times, its helmet defense covers the tank, though it recedes again as soon as the attack run loses momentum.

Area: All

HP: 260
Element: Null

Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Null + Stun 1 + Blast 2
Primary Attack Accuracy: B
Primary Attack Description: The Mettank blasts a target with an explosive shell from its main gun, which stuns targets.

Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Null + Piercing + Ground Attack + Wide Attack
Secondary Attack Accuracy: B
Secondary Attack Description: Slams the pick-tine of its main gun to the ground, causing a large shockwave.

Tertiary Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Null + Group Attack + Breaking + Impact + Movement
Tertiary Attack Accuracy: B
Tertiary Attack Description: The Mettank revs up and rushes one target with sudden speed. It activates its MetGuard when it begins to rush, and deactivates it again as soon as the attack run ends. The Mettank does not return to its original position at the end of the attack run, but remains where it stopped.

Special: MetGuard: The Metool's Helmet expands rapidly to cover the entire tank in a protective dome. Assumes MetalBody and can hold this guard for any number of actions. Activating the guard takes an action, but deactivating it to attack does not. Mettank cannot move or attack while MetGuard is active, however its tertiary attack ignores this. Attacks from below bypass MetGuard for normal damage.
Special: Slow to move, but can move and dodge while attacking.
Note: MetalBody is identical to IronBody, but does not hamper movement. Non-Break attacks deal 0 damage, and Break attacks deal double.

((I'm sorry I should have listed my bounty request, but regardless I am going to attempt to flee this battle.))

Finding himself face to face with even more viruses from the Metool family reality hit GigaMan like a slap in the face. He was exhausted, weakened, and out numbered. Even if he could recover fully with Jilius's help the battle ahead would prove rough even with an enraged temperament. "Maybe you were right." He muttered in a low tone. "Let me fight elsewhere. I still have steam I need to blow off. Perhaps, we will log out and then send me right back around the area we started in?"

"If you insist, but you should try to get out of there first. I'm sure they won't hesitate to put you through the ringer."

"Yea..." GigaMan rudely turned his back towards the new set of opponents. Fueled by rage, and disappointment the weakened Navi took off in a burst of speed, running back in the direction he had come from, hoping to escape the grasp of battle with the Metool gang behind him. He kept turning his head to check the success of his retreat. It would be very painful for him not to get away.
——————————————————
Summary

1. FLEE
2. RUN
3. RETREAT
The group watched, uncertain, as gigaMan assessed the situation, then opted for a tactical retreat. As he fled, the hurried clanking of another stove virus coming from somewhere far off gave sight to a very delayed virus trying to join the others, but altogether too late and the dubiously motivated navi made good his getaway and found an area somewhat less inhabited. It didn't sound like any of them had pursued him.

((Escape successful))
"Log me out then log me back in where we started." GigaMan commanded upon getting free of any noticeable trouble. Julius complied, causing he Navi to vanish in a rising beam of golden light. Moments later, the golden light fell towards the area where the junk data remains of his original Metool welcoming party happened. "One more battle... who wants to be my prey."

((Requesting battle 1... again...))
(OldStove Bounty))
With a quick retreat, a return to his PET for a recharge and then dropping back into the net, GigaMan didn't quite arrive in the same place he'd started in last time; this section of the net was set around with a number of small houses and side-streets, though GigaMan himself arrived in the middle of a park field that backed several streets. It was a mixture of paths and grassy stretches, while a single, solitary children's climbing frame made a lone piece of play equipment off to his left. More interesting was that there appeared to be a green crystal underneath the frame, partially protected by the bars.

To his other side, GigaMan could see a cactus virus, swaying back and forth on the grass, just now turning to look at the new arrival, while a pair of stove viruses edged slowly out of the back yards of two different houses, moving their way towards him with their grills aglow. Just behind, a trundling sound alerted him to a fourth threat, in the form of a small, mobile tank virus, which had just peeked in from a lane way and decided that the scene was worth investigating.

GigaMan was still full of anger. Anger from having to run, anger from having the strange Metool turn it's back on him. Angry at his own weakness. Power was the only driving factor now. Julius was coming along nicely learning the basics of virus busting. The two were growing somewhat aquainted to each others style of doing things. He surveyed the landscape, and opted to change it for a better view. First he activated his FireWalker.GMO, then tapped into the SetLava program. The grassy/normal terrain adjacent to GigaMan quickly flashed over to a more harmful pool of lava.

I'm going to send you TwinFang and Shotgun, make it work for now." Julius slotted in the two chips.

The command further fueled the Navi's irritation. He activated the chip, and loaded a fang in each of his blasters. With a twist of his body the first fang was fired at the tank virus behind him. It glid towards the target covered in a feint golden glow that gave it just a little boost in power as it looked to splinter and pierce the Beetanks armor. The second part of the attack was aimed at the Cacty to his right. This one flew with no boost but still looked to end its digital life.

He moved swiftly over to where the Cacty had stood, or still stood depending on the result of his attack. Once there he lifted his right blaster and fired off a powerful shotgun shell. The blast chased down the closer of the OldStove viruses.

Gigaman, quick to attack, took his initiative to attack, sending a white sharp fang at the attacking viruses. Gigaman managing to skewer the Beetank behind him and delete it just before the viruses had a chance to attack, but could not curve his second fang just enough to skewer the cactus-like virus in the same attack. Angered by this, the Cactus began to swing it's body about, head just barely attached as it swung it's head at the invading netnavi, head rolling like a ball and smashing into Gigaman, spikes and impact to boot before it's head teleported back onto the body. The two OldStoves also began to move in on Gigaman in a pincer attack, the mobile stoves belching flames that flash burned the Grass into ash, panels becoming slighty-burnt soil as they belched flames. Giga, however, was quick to feint to one of the nearby Normal panels and fire off a shotgun, blasting his intended target and managing to catch the other in the buckshot from the splash. The Cacty menacingly shook it's segmented body at Giga, even though it knew full well it was about to share the fate of the other viruses
