Healbot 2: Heal Harder

[furl=9002698,3,10001643][Source: Sharo Rogue Net][/furl]

In the middle of a hellscape of burning magma and black rock, two humanoid figures of light began to materialize, before revealing their identities as Eternalis and Aurora. Landing gingerly on their feet, they shook their heads slightly to clear them, before looking around the area. A gleaming transfer pad showed where they had been originally, which was the Ezarith internal network. The Prog had sent them to the burning locale through a bit of misunderstanding. However, the first person to say something was... "Oh my god, I'm so sorry," ... their operator.

Taken slightly by surprise from the unexpected apology, Aurora replied, "Um, sorry for what?"

"No, um, I kind of meant to have that Prog replaced when I got back. He's had a tendency to execute orders a bit prematurely. Used to be in charge of the lighting, but Dad threw it out to reception. Didn't think it'd be promoted to security and protocol, though..." explained Harke, looking a bit exasperated.

"Well, um, this isn't really too bad, I guess? We could stroll around here for a bit. Maybe we'll bump into that Lucia girl again," said Eternalis.

"Oh! Yeah, did we get her e-mail? I don't recall her being in our contacts... Let's poke around for a bit around the area where we found her first, do some busting. Who knows," said Aurora. Eternalis shrugged in acceptance, and both of them set off towards the main roadway.

[Rogue Battle 1 - Ready!]
[Eternalis.EXE: 360 HP, Aurora.EXE: 100HP.]
As Eternalis and his trusty cohort landed into the literal hellhole of the internet, a loud rumble could be heard far off in the distance as three large and very much on fire boulders landed from the distance, splashing into the small pool of lava in front of him, barely avoiding getting scalded and burnt from the splashed lava. To his left was a patch of Furnace panels that wafted their heat off, creating an annoying mirage effect, even if in there was a Megalian-F2 floating in the patch of coals, which then a Buffy-F materialized, sitting happily on the flaming Boulder and watching the navi and his cohort intently. Meanwhile to the left, in a far off patch of Metal, a slumbering Flamey2 could be seen, rousing from it's slumber and glaring at the healbot invading it's territory. And suspiciously, a hole not far off from Eternalis and Aurora that seemed to move left and right, a little nose popping up with a curled mustache sniffing the air cautiously. And to top it all off, a Blue Mystery Data just...floating not far away from Eternalis and Aurora, though it would seem to take a little bit of time to get to even if the healbot ran at full speed for it.

MomogroMomogro (Momogra)

Momogras move by tunneling through the ground. They poke their heads up just far enough from time to time to see where the enemy is, but they are still protected from most forms of attack. Drop attacks, Bomb attacks (which fall out of the air after being thrown), and Ground attacks damage them in this state. Other attacks executed from a high angle/altitude also work. All movements performed by a Momogra are considered a dodge, as they occur underground, and out of sight. Momogras only attack in response to having an attack launched in their direction, and only if they have an action remaining for that turn. Momogras attack by instantly tunneling to the panel behind the enemy, popping out of the ground, and striking with a shovel. A Momogra is completely vulnerable to any form of attack during its own atack, and until it moves again following that attack. The movement prior to the attack does not require an action, but movement afterwards does. The attack cannot execute if the panel behind the target is a liquid terrain type, Metal, Broken, or Missing. The attack also will not execute if there is something currently occupying the panel they would be attacking from. If the attack cannot execute, the Momogra will not move. In the case of Glass and Cracked terrain, the Momogras will still attempt to attack, but suffer the consequences of doing do as those panels will break and damage the Momogra, also causing the attack to fail. Momogra get 1 free movement per turn at the start of the turn before their first action.

"Hmm... Oh, we got some costumes back from Lucia in that event bulletin board," said Eternalis, looking through some of the e-mails that they had received during their time in the snow. "It doesn't look like we're going to find her right now, though. We don't even know if she comes here that often. Maybe we should shoot that poor Lyntael girl an e-mail, too. I'm sure she's waiting for one from us," quipped Aurora in return. Eternalis nodded in agreement, but before he could say anything in return, a loud rumbling sound interrupted his action.

"That was pretty loud. What was that?" said Harke, though his question wasn't left unanswered for long, as the flaming rocks rained down from above, causing both Eternalis and Aurora to instinctively leap back slightly to avoid the splashing lava that came their way.

"Wow, they've really gone for the hell aesthetic now, I didn't know they had real brimstone," remarked Eternalis. As if on cue, viruses started materializing here and there, seemingly triggered by the falling rocks. A floating head, a red puffer, a knee-hugging statue, and a purple mole. With the viruses popping in left and right, both of the programs found themselves in a battle. Of course, by this point they were already quite accustomed to being jumped, as both of them announced their counter-offensive in sync with their operator.

"Battle routine!" "Set!"

"Execute!" followed Harke, as he surveyed his options. Most of the viruses seemed to be ones that relied mostly on mobility to be able to execute their attacks, with the exception of the immobile Buffy. Most of them were also fire-aligned, so the choices to make weren't too difficult. Five chips made their way into the transfer slot, followed by a confirmation ping. "Alright, this should be a good set, good luck, you two."

"Thanks, Harke," said Aurora, as she and Eternalis set to work on setting up the first parts of their offensive. Two hollow wireframes appeared before the duo, before their color resolved to reveal them as a red Trumpy and KillerEye. Wiggling around to shake off the summoning inertia, the viruses' faces appeared determined as they set to work. The jumping trumpet inhaled before playing its dulcet tones, disrupting their enemies' movement processes, while the KillerEye adjusted its eyes towards the far-off Flamey statue to attempt to lock on to it.

Then, it was a matter of linking their hands, melding into a singular entity as they hopped, and vanished into the heat-choked air. A few moments passed, before Eternalis re-materialized behind the set of boulders that had appeared before them, though he still appeared to be holding someone's hand. Invisible to anyone without proper tools, Aurora let go of her operator's hand to avoid any collateral damage, as she let Eternalis take the stage.

Landing on the burning ground triggered the jelly-bodied warrior's next cascade of attacks, as cracks began to spread rapidly across the lava-base rock. Gouts of steam burst from the cracks briefly, followed by high-pressure walls of boiling water spreading throughout the area. To make matters further worse for the viruses, the watery assault didn't even seem to be limited to the ground; a torrent of shard-like ice rain seemed to be bearing down from above as well, creating a vertical pincer that would definitely bring the hurt to anyone unlucky enough to be caught in the middle.

It did in fact seem like a good set as the battle began and right away the air was filled with a lovely tune absolutely stunning to the viruses mezmerized by the sound. The Flamey was especially captivated by the song that it hadn't even noticed the giant red beam staring it down before it was completely vaporized by the by the laser following it mere seconds later. The Buffy tried to take revenge for it's fallen comrade, not swayed by the devil music, and fired a bubble in retaliation. By the time it bounded it's way over to eternalis and co. however, the two were no where to be found!

The two unfortunately found themselves surround by lava, suffering minor burns as they prepared for a surprised attack! Through a combination of the heart stopping musical rendition and a swift surprise attack from behind the remaining viruses were washed away in a torrent of steam, streams and rain leaving just a few piles of data as visibility returned. As the battle faded Eternalis oatched himself up, as though the lava had never been there to begin with, and was now all but gone from the torential assualt that had just been unleashed.

"Phew..." exhaled Aurora, as she reappeared from her optical camouflage. The coordinated attack had gone much better compared to their last Sharo battle. Perhaps it was more that Eternalis was better aligned for a fight in the fire-dominated network, but it wouldn't be a further stretch to say that they might have developed some better teamwork as well. Seeing some movement out of her peripheral vision, she turned, only to see Eternalis raise his right hand in the air, seemingly expecting something. However, it only earned him a blank stare from his partner, before the Navi laughed.

"Come on, don't leave me hanging," he said.

"-- Oh!" Aurora realized, before reaching up for a high five. The splatter of her hand against his gooey body made it not as impactful as they would've hoped, but they both had happy smiles on their faces regardless.

"Good job, guys, that looked a lot better than your last battle," said Harke, more than happy as well to see both of his friends get along with each other. "Do you guys want to go on? Though I think there's an MD crystal somewhere around."

"Huh, really? Oh, you're right. Let's go grab it, Aurora," said Eternalis, immediately making his way over to the revolving blue crystal, with Aurora following shortly behind. The crystal glowed briefly before him as he touched its surface, causing it to decrypt itself into its contents...

"Well, it seems useful. Though we can't exactly use it here, it'd melt in a heartbeat," said Aurora, watching the data transfer itself into the PET, before turning to Eternalis. "I guess we're going on, then?" she said, followed by an acknowledging tilt of Eternalis' head. Making their way through the area, they searched further in for more viruses to test their mettle on.

[Rogue Battle 2 - Ready!]
[Eternalis.EXE: 360 HP, Aurora.EXE: 95HP.]
CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, SMASH. As Eternalis and Aurora continued onwards in the area, two loud explosions could be heard in the distance, this time, instead of boulders, a bunch of semi-solid metallic slag smashed into the ground, sending their metallic shards everywhere across the field, still on fire and melting as time went on. Though it seemed Eternalis had his work cut out for him this time, a spinning BMD could be seen off in the distance, off towards the East on half-melted Metal panels as he surveyed the field, seemed a bit of the half-melted shrapnel from the piles of metal had managed to splash onto the BMD, making it catch on fire afterwards, though it seemed to have this...shiny coat of -something- on it...water-resist coating perhaps? Wonder it didn't burn off immediately.

There was also Coal to the North, and Furnace to the West and South, surrounding the navi and his partner. Unfortunately, while he was on an island of Normal panels, two Swordy-F2s popped out of the coals and immediately teleported to flank the BMD on either side, swords crossed in front of it as they held their ground in front of the navi. A Flamey crashing up in the middle of the Coal panels, scattering them everywhere as it moved onto the heated island. And then two Fullfires popped up, unbeknownst to Eternalis, hiding behind both of the slag piles and waiting for the navi to make his move.

"Hang on, I think I found something."

Eternalis and Aurora halted in their tracks briefly at the report from their operator, with Aurora bringing up her own analysis screen. It wasn't really quite needed, however, as the explosions racked their footing for a few moments, and a few viruses took their places around them. Neither of them seemed quite fazed, however, as they readied themselves for battle, as did their operator, who was quick on the draw with the usual lineup that the Navis usually requested.

"Got all you guys set up, give 'em hell. Or, well, more hell. You know what I mean," Harke said, stumbling over his own words.

"Thanks, Harke-- Oh, it's another data crystal," said Aurora, as the Mystery Data caught her attention, and her visor was pointed in its direction. Some interesting information callouts appeared before it in her vision, and she raised an eyebrow at the provided intelligence. "Seems like the crystal is impervious to water attacks somehow. That's pretty convenient for us," reported Aurora, as her stat window closed down. "All right, there are those three in front of us, and some flanking cover at nine and six o'clock on those heat vents."

"Seems like they think they've got the jump on us," said Eternalis, as he grinned mischievously. "Let's take out the obvious ones and then get the jump on six o'clock. Ready?"

"At will."

Eternalis nodded, and started off the offensive by stomping one of his boots onto the plain white floor. At first, there didn't seem to be anything happening. Beneath the red Swordies, a dim blue glow was the only signal that an attack was coming. Shortly after, the ground cracked open, and a razor-thin wall of high-pressure water sliced through the Swordies' ground, as well as the blue crystal. Meanwhile, Aurora set up her usual Sensor, forming the red KillerEye virus in front of her as a menacing singular eyeball mounted with pointed lightning decorations and a couple of electrical wires. Once again, they were pointed forward at the knee-hugging Flamey as she took her Navi's hand, activated her camouflage module, and warped out of sight with Eternalis.

Then, behind one of the robed MettFire viruses, Eternalis appeared from the dried air, reassimilating from the vapor in the air, along with an invisible Aurora in tow. However, there was something quite different about him. His face and head seemed a lot more solid than before, with his right eye splitting off into a collection of smaller red eyes, combined with a tiny red floating visor. The emblem that usually held the Ezarith icon had moved to his shoulder, where a mass of goo had gathered, followed by a long, tapering grey barrel. Before him stood the back of the unwitting FullFire virus, standing out clearly in his single-eye targeting display, rendering the cover of the heat vents useless.

Moving quickly, he struck at the FullFire with his right hand, which split off with solidified, sharpened goo disks. Twice he sliced away at the FullFire before he drew back, looking for his next target in the other FullFire. He located the virus quickly enough with his visor, which beeped noisily as it superimposed a circular crosshair onto it in his vision. Raising his barreled arm, the final Battlechip in his queue was loaded into the barrel, and part of the gun arm slid back on its own with a click to indicate its loaded status. The replicate Morph Rifle whined briefly before it released its payload-- an azure-colored bullet-- towards its target.

With Eternalis getting straight to work, he proceeded to get straight to work with the Swordies that flanked the Mystery Data to either side of them. The BMD burning lightly as the fire took it's work to the brittle data cube (-5). The swordies moving immediately to try and evade the potential attack, but the attack, rising like a waterfall from below them, caught them in the attack, drowning and deleting them immediately, the BMD simply spinning around and around slowly, fire put out from the attack. The Flamey, angered by it's compatriots deletions immediately headed down into the ground, catching on fire as it did, evading being caught by the Sensor2 for the most part and immediately crashed up below where Aurora was at, breaking through the panel without a second thought, but she was far enough from the attack to avoid it, with the Flamey immediately going back down, popping up under the Sensor, and damaging it as the virus data crackled and sparked from the attack going through the middle, but still holding together. The Fullfire viruses waited behind the slag as they peeked out occasionally, seeing nothing for the scant moment...until one let out a loud, pained squeak of pain. Getting cut to bits and damaging the slag heavily. And as Eternalis turned to eliminate the last Fullfire, the virus took to the offensive. Little more than a staff, it began to call down multiple meteors on the area Eternalis had situated himself on. The fiery rocks coming down from the heavens as they began to strike down the panels all around Eternalis, fire rising up with each attack all around him as the attacks caused the Furnace to rear up twice, singing the navi heavily (6)(6), one going too far off track to damage Eternalis, and the last two smashing into the navi and burning him even more for lasting damage (30)(30), (72 total+Burn5x2 turns). Eternalis proceeding to combat back, a torrent of water drowning the virus completely and totally. One virus remaining as it shook heavily with anger, watching the navi intently.

Harke whistled at the cool display of offense. "That Cross is impressive... It's with the sniper Navi from the mission you had with the castle defense, right?"

"Yeah, Validus was his name, I believe. That mission was a while ago, wasn't it, Aurora?" replied Eternalis, though looking around, he couldn't exactly see his partner anywhere. There wasn't any doubt she was still nearby, though.

"It seemed like yesterday to me."

Sure enough, With most of the viruses routed, Aurora reappeared from her optical camouflage, having escaped most of the carnage. Eternalis had absorbed a fair bit of the attacks, but unlike in Sharo, these hadn't been quite enough to dent him in any capacity. The light cinders that were left on the goo monster's body didn't seem to faze him in the slightest as he craned his neck slightly at the remaining enemy in front of him, the visor in front of his multi-faceted eye accurately tracking its smallest movements. Raising the Morph Rifle to his eye, he muttered, "I really don't want it to move out of the way again like before. Could we lock it down for a bit?"

"Sure, I'll send Aurora the Timpani and have you fire a WindRacket," said Harke. "Ready?"

"Ready," reported Eternalis, looking at the remaining Flamey through his sights. Next to him, Aurora held out her hand, and the trumpet-shaped Timpani virus slowly appeared before her, filling out a green wireframe with its colors. It began to sing its lilting melodies, though whether the Flamey would find it pleasant or otherwise was another deal. Meanwhile, Eternalis' rifle let out a clicking sound, and its lever moved, loading the chip into the barrel. Without wasting much time, Eternalis fired the shot, releasing a heavily compressed burst of air towards the floating statue.

Being held down by the summoned help, the virus cried out in anger trying to move from the oppressive sounds, being held down to the ground next to the Sensor2 and was promptly deleted by the followup attack by Eternalis, swatted away and blown back by the wind as it's data scattered about the field and died. Needless to say, Eternalis won the fight pretty handily.

"That's the last of those," said Aurora, as Eternalis relaxed from his firing position, and let the rifle sink back into his body. The Cross disengaged shortly after, reverting his face to its original lopsided smile, and his armor back to how it was before. "Alright, that went pretty well, let's check out that data and move on," said Eternalis, gesturing towards the wet-looking Mystery Data crystal atop the metallic floor. Approaching it seemed to be all it took for the crystal to start unfolding upon itself, as the command was sent to begin its decryption.

"What is with these ice chips in the middle of Hades?" muttered Harke in puzzlement as the chip data appeared on his display. Scratching his head, he shrugged as he swapped out one of his original chips to place it into his current folder. "Well, it's a good chip regardless, but I'm still really confused. Maybe that Prog's been transporting more than just you two. I assume you guys are going on until you're satisfied?"

"Yeah, I'm not nearly tired yet. These arms were made for busting!" said Eternalis, attempting to lift his gooey arms to show off, though it only resulted in him looking rather silly. Harke rolled his eyes with a tired grin on his face, while Aurora giggled in amusement as she set off on her own. Eternalis was left with mixed feelings as he jogged up to her to explore further in. "Hey, wait, c'mon, don't leave me out in the cold like that!"

The crashing and crunching noises continued to grow in loudness as the two of them continued to go through the network, soft sand below their feet as they scoped out the field ahead of them as Furnace, Metal and Lava ahead of them, the metal panels half melted from the lava against it and the sand hot and arid from the Furnace ahead of them. Two Zemons ahead of them on the Furnace, alongside an OldHeater, the latter battered, beaten and all around, even half melted on the left side. A Whomper2 hanging from the non-existent ceiling, dangling from a string that had caught fire. A red spotted egg with four holes, two on each side, showing a scaly leg on each side, tail wagging slowly as two beady eyes stared at Eternalis and friend from inside the egg. and finally a Fullfire hopping around worridly as it had no cover for it to hide out in, worried it would be the first target of Eternalis' rage.

LizeggLizegg (Cregg)

The Cregg version is a brown scaly egg with red spots. Most notably, it possesses a long gray tail that extends from a crack in the egg's rear, which is constantly on fire. It moves around by emitting flames from cracks in the scaly shell, trying to hit an enemy. The Lizegg is the same, but grows four gray scaly legs and feet that pop out of the egg and two holes at the front for two shining yellow eyes. It retains the tail from its weaker form, though the flames are a bit more intense. The egg grows slightly. Its scales also become stronger which allows it to pop back in for a defensive action. The Raptegg's hind legs grow more so it can stand on them. Its head, similar to that of a raptor but gray, pops out of the egg too and a long gray scaly tail that moves behind him frantically, which is covered in roaring fire. The egg grows slightly again. Same as the Lizegg, it can also pop everything back in for a defensive action, though it is better than its lower version at this.

For all of the background noise befitting the network based on a volcanic island, the silence between the two network spelunkers was surprisingly protracted. However, judging from the cheerful humming coming from Aurora's end, it likely wasn't due to the awkwardness that had plagued them during their trek through the Sharo network. Still, one thing did bother Eternalis slightly as he jogged to catch up to Aurora's side. "Aurora?"

Aurora briefly halted her humming for a moment. "Mm?"

"You mentioned something earlier in that BBS thread about your past life, right?"

"Ah, right. I kind of did want to bring it up at some point but there really hadn't been any good opportunities. Sorry," said Aurora, averting her eyes as she started to look at some far-off lava flow. A dry chuckle escaped her lips. "It's a little hard to just bring it up out of nowhere when it's the reason I was put in deep freeze, you know?"

"What exactly happened? I figure Karen's your old operator, judging from how she talks about you so much?" piped in Harke.

"No, actually, it was Serena," said Aurora. The name caused Harke's heart to sink-- it was his mother's name. "Can't imagine a better operator. May she rest in peace... Actually, Harke, how much do you know about her job?"

Tilting his head, the operator tried to dig through his memories. "Mmm... I think Dad told me a long time ago she did some kind of military work. Didn't say much else."

"I see... Well, you can somewhat figure out what my line of work was from my camouflage unit. I wasn't her main Navi, but I was more involved in... logistics, let's say that. Her main Navi was... mmh, my old partner."

Eternalis' interest peaked slightly. "Oh, what was your partner like?"

"Well, he--" started Aurora, before she abruptly stopped walking. A brief double beep preceded the appearance of a small window in her peripheral vision, with some text rapidly scrolling across its height. It was evident that she wouldn't be quite able to finish her story, with the viruses appearing one after another in front of them. The statistic window mirrored itself in front of Eternalis after processing it for brevity.

"I guess we're saving story time for later," said Harke, as he loaded up the more frequently-used chips. "There you go, anything extra?"

Aurora nodded. "Triggering the Boiler with the new Blizzard should work for the Zemon." The fairer half of the pair wasted no time in utilizing what had been given to her. Behind her, the red Tromby virus twirled in place as it was summoned, its headphones flying in the air before neatly landing back on its head. After its fancy arrival, it wasted no time in playing the song of its people, filling the area with a soothing jazz number.

"Give me the WideShot too," added Eternalis. The screen in front of his face lit up with crosshairs as he started his own offense, with cracks forming beneath the volatile earth. Steam hissed out violently before geysers sprayed out wildly beneath three of the viruses. In the chaos, he drew back slightly and raised his right arm, which began to swirl about into an arm cannon. The cannon bulged at its base before it erupted with a slimy LittleBoiler payload. The blob of goo landed with a splat on the heat-baked dirt, followed by a second blast. The second round was much more short-range, but its contents was akin to that of a shotgun's buckshot, spraying high-velocity goo everywhere. Where the goo landed, an unnatural frost began to form, until the area in front of Eternalis was covered in sheet ice.

As the Boiler would be erupting soon, he then joined hands with Aurora, who had already started up her camouflage, and warped out of sight. If one were to scan the area, they would see the two reappearing high in the air, roughly above the battered-looking furnace virus. With the advantage of the element of surprise, Eternalis released his last attack from his cannon, blasting out a blade made of water straight down towards his last target.

With their careful discussion of past difficulties being rudely cut short, aurora and Eternalis quickly discussed a strategy and got right to work. Their first effort was to lock down all of their prospective targets from moving, and as the smooth jazz spread across the scorching field, small crackles of restraining energy began to spread through each of the viruses — even the Whomper as it whisked up its string out of sight, and the FullFire that tried to shield its ears as it dodged behind the Old heater, finding no other suitable cover. It would be a moment before they were all locked down properly, but Aurora could rest assured that her tactic had taken root.

In the mean-time, the egg-creature rushed forward, spraying gouts of forceful fire from the many cracks in its shell; it made for Eternalis, but stumbled part way as it transitioned from the lava pool onto the softer sand, and didn't manage to scorch him at all. The aqua navi's answer was equally forceful as he raised a line of geysers from the ground: the Whomper had zipped away out of range, but lining up the egg nearby, and the FullFire a little further off also let him catch the heater as well, while the caster virus hid behind it. The first pulse of water jets vaporised the egg virus instantly, though none of the initial water bursts struck the other two. The second, however, even though it wasn't quite as strong, successfully nailed both viruses and thoroughly quenched them both, creating a localised cloud of vaporised steam that hung in the air where they had been.

Occupied as he was with this deletion, the two Zemon took a chance, each warping suddenly to positions next to Eternalis and Aurora one after the other. The first, opened with a broad sweep of its blade aimed to slice both of the explorers, though he only managed to connect with Eternalis, missing Aurora. It followed with a second stab that drove inwards, piercing through the slime navi more directly. This left it struggling to free its blade for a moment, which Eternalis might or might not find amusing, depending on how he felt about having just been stabbed. The second virus warped in closer to Aurora, lining up to drive a long stab that Aurora dodged and Eternalis most distinctly did not, before following it with a slice that missed Aurora. As if attempting to capitalise on the surprise, the Whomper dropped down again into a gap nearby, lined up to blow its cone of fire over the two navis without clipping either Zemon in the process; they both took a nasty fire wash, though Aurora seemed to be suffering the worse for the damage at the moment.

The sand beneath them crystalised and hardened into solid glass, red hot to the touch, then melted further, into even more lava, but the pair didn't plan on sticking around long. Eternalis threw down a parting gift between the two sword-wielding viruses, then backed off just enough to blast them, and the volatile blob, with an icy cone of more freezing cold goop. The turf war continued as the recently lava-changed panels were now converted into ice instead, and the cone froze one of the Zemon solid. The other escaped harm, and the Whomper was just a hair too far away for the short-range cone to hit it, but most importantly, the boiler blob began to react in a very volatile manner.

That was, of course, the cue for them both to leave and Eternalis got them both clear of the blast zone with a quick teleportation, while aurora went stealth to help save herself from any further damage. The two Zemon looked about, taking a moment to find out where their quarry had gone, and when they found Eternalis they began to move towards him for another round. Unfortunately, they weren't quick enough to get out of range as the boiler detonated with a tremendous, explosive thump of impact. The remaining three viruses were scourged from the net in an instant, leaving the two navis alone again and with a moment to catch their breaths.

Once again, it seemed that victory was theirs, and the spoils remained for the claiming; amongst the zenny and other miscellaneous data fragments, one of the zemon's weapons had remained quite fortunately intact, and could easily be resolved into reusable chip data.

As the Hades busting duo landed gingerly onto the ground from their final attack, they surveyed the area, satisfied with the complete purge. "Ugh, that smarts," said Aurora, holding a hand to her side where the Whomper's fiery breath had grazed her. The suit's consistency on her flank fluctuated oddly as it shifted from flesh to slime, and then back again. It didn't help matters that the transition from arctic temperatures to hellfire was still quite jarring.

Eternalis picked up a nearby Zemon sword, allowing it to disappear as it was transferred into battlechip data, and turned to Aurora. "You all right? I'll patch that up for you," he said, producing a patch of blue slime from his hand. Aurora raised her eyebrow, taking the patch from her partner and holding it up questioningly.

"I guess I just put this on like a band-aid?" said Aurora.
"However you want to put it on," shrugged Eternalis.

Without much else to go on, Aurora applied the patch. The slime absorbed itself into her side, and her body visibly relaxed. "That's better," she sighed, feeling the effects of the healing already taking effect. Eternalis grinned as Aurora stretched a bit, before turning around to start off the exploration once more.

"C'mon, I still haven't finished my story."

[Rogue Battle 4 - Ready!]
[Eternalis.EXE: 300 HP, Aurora.EXE: 35HP.]
After all the incredible changing-terrain battlefield of the last fight, Eternalis and Aurora came upon a barren plain of normal tiles. Spread out in front of the two was a literal horde of viruses of various types. A brown scaly egg with red spots, four gray scaly legs and feet that pop out of the egg, and two holes at the front for two shining yellow eyes started off the group. A guy in a bandana holding a heavy iron ball, a flying head wrapped in a fiery aura, two guys holding beeping explosive mines, a giant mole, and a large red stone golem.

It was going to be a strange fight.

Megalian-F2Megalian-F2 (Megalian-F)

All Megalian-F viruses are equipped with Omnishoes, and fight from the air. This virus type will spend an Action Dodging, and then Attack the following Action. If there are more than one Megalian (family does not matter) the viruses will work together, alternating their attack Actions or attacking as a group (mod's discretion). When attacking, both the head and the base can be damaged separately (if the Aura protecting the base has been destroyed).

MetalCraggerMetalCragger (Cragger)

Craggers are pretty easy targets, given their size. They also move very rarely, and when they do they move slowly. Their dodge rate is abysmal. They generally rely on their HardBody defense, which reduces non-break damage by half, but doubles break damage. They have high attack power and AoE, but their accuracy is generally bad as their attacks are easy to follow and take time to deliver. Their attack is executed as a Drop Attack, and thus attacks from above, and not head-on. Targets caught underground within this attack's AoE range take an additional 50 Null damage that ignores all defenses.
