Inside the shop

Hardly batting an eye, Suitachi swiftly received Emily's purchases and payment on the counter and completed the transaction. He snatched a bag from somewhere behind the counter as the register dinged with an approval, gracefully sliding everything into the bag before pushing it across the surface to the customer.

"Thank you and have a nice day," he finished jovially.

Emily GET: Speed Upgrade 1, Process Upgrade 1, 2, 3, 4
Emily LOSE: 6000z

"Thank you!" replied Emily with a charming smile as she took her purchases in one hand, adjusted the purse strap on her shoulder, and left the store. Ultimately she decided to head over to her Den apartment before going back to NAXA, although not only for Mir. As she walked out the door, Emily realized that she couldn't just carry the upgrades she bought onto the flight to Netopia. Oh well, home was relative anyway.

(Moving to Dentech)

Striding into the store quickly, taking an instant to take in the sparse, but strangely relaxing, aesthetic, Morin hurried towards the counter.

Looking over the catalog with haste, Morin considered what to purchase, 'Speed, HP, and Process upgrades, I think...

Reaching for his zenny, he suddenly blanched, 'Wait...no! I only have...why?! Oh, nigh-unlimited resources, how I miss you!'

Looking up at Suitachi, he made his order, "I'll just take a Process upgrade. I believe 100 zenny will suffice?"

He offered the shopkeeper his 100 zenny. Though he tried to act like it was a pittance to him, he was internally cringing at the loss of more than 10% of his worldly liquid resources.

'Oh, to be rich again...still, I can't let poverty change who I am. I still have my pride, and I will maintain my decorum. I won't harm the family name any further.'

He waited patiently, or at least that was how it appeared.

(Buying Process Upgrade 1: 100 Zenny)

"Yes, 100 should be enough. Give me a sec to find it..." said Suitachi, his head darting all about for a few seconds, before he let out an "Oh!" out of the blue, and pulled the upgrade out of his pocket, and laid it out on the counter top. Smiling for all he was worth, he took the 100 zenny, and the ding of the register confirmed the purchase.

"Thank you, and have a nice day."

Morin GET: Process Upgrade
Morin LOSE: 100z

Smiling slightly at the shopkeeper's antics, Morin nodded and accepted the Process upgrade, "You have my thanks."

Turning on his heel, he hurried from the store.

Satou strolled into the shop and looked up at the counter, VenusMan's image sitting on the counter with his legs hanging down the side. "You're leaving the items to me?" Satou asked to his Navi.

"You programmed these, right?" VenusMan said as he looked over his shoulder and thumbed at the flower pods, "So I figure you know how to improve these. You can leave Carnivore to me."

"Yeah, I have no idea about him..." Satou replied, a bit disappointed about the lack of information on VenusMan's mysterious companion, and looked up at the counter. "I'd like an attack upgrade and a process upgrade," Satou spoke to the shopkeeper, "I think that's 1100 zenny, so here..." He removed his PET from the strap at his wrist and held it near the cash register to digitally pay for his goods.

Suitachi looked up from the cot he was resting on and waved his hand dismissively. Not even bothering to get up from behind the counter, he gave a yawn and a tired smile. "Thank you, and have a nice day."

Satou's pockets felt heavier.

"See," Satou said as he took the items out of his pocket and waved them at VenusMan's augmented image, "Completely logical."

VenusMan just simply nodded before disengaging his image. "Let's get out and get this installed," he said, sitting down in the virtual environment of his PET and waiting for the upgrades.

Satou nodded at the PET at his wrist and left the shop.

Another customer entered the shop...well, a customer by proxy, anyway. And she was arguing with what looked like a yellow pill with arms and antennae floating on her shoulder. "I'm telling you, oregano would work best!"

What was probably a Navi folded its arms, apparently displeased with this outburst. "I'm sorry, Lady Josephine, but sage would undoubtedly be better in this instance!"

"Nope, it's oregano. When am I ever wrong when it comes to herbs?"

"Not often, to be sure. That's why I'm so surprised you're wrong now. It simply has to be sage!"

"If that were true, I'd be quiet, but it's not, so I'm going to emphasize that oregano would be better!"

"Negative, it'd be sage to use sage!"

"Word play doesn't work on me! Oregano!"

"Sage!"

"Oregano!"

"Sage!"

"OREGANO!"

"SAGE!"

"OREGANO!!!...Actually, wait a sec. What about thyme?"

"...Huh, you know, that just might work."

"Yep, thyme's definitely the better call for it! Guess we were both wrong, huh, FieldMan?"

"Indeed..."

Now that the (apparently) intense argument was settled, Mrs. Jetto walked up to the counter, as though nothing had happened. "Hello! I'm here to pick these up for my daughter." She handed Suitachi a list and plenty of cash, and awaited a response.

Suitachi looked across the counter at his next customer for a moment as she made her order. "Tall order today huh? One moment." He said before ducking behind the counter. Then there were some scratching and shuffling noises for about a minute. Finally he stood up and dropped a puffy paper bag on the counter. He dragged his hand across the counter and collected up the money and dropped it into his register. "There you go, all set. Have a nice day."

Heading into the shop on his crutches, the young martial artist browsed the selections for awhile, speaking to the PET strapped to his arm, for ease of access. He awaited his turn, gawking at the massive order he had seen go out before him. Somehow he never realized just how expensive upgrades and such could get.

Finally he made his way to the counter and sat down a few items and the zenni for them, at least by his calculation. "Hello again, Mr Suitachi. This is it for me today" he says simply yet politely.

Mrs. Jetto grabbed the bag, and took a peek inside it. "...All that money on just four things? It's her money, granted, but you'd think she could find something more...oh, what's the word I'm looking for..."

"Lady Josephine, to be completely blunt, I think that's a terrible thing to say, no matter how you planned to end that sentence. Lady Sabrina, Sir SplashMan, and Lady...er, SplashLady, have worked hard to become premier NetBattlers! If they wish to seek out their limits in battling, let them! It should be good for all involved!"

"So what, now my own Navi's telling me how to raise my daughter?"

The Navi's eyes, which had not changed since entering the shop, suddenly acquired a raised right eyebrow. Not that it could've been gradual, considering his eyes were basically on a glorified LCD screen. "Am I wrong?"

"...Nah, not really! She's old enough to make her own decisions, and she's always been a good kid. Maybe we oughta give serious NetBattling a try, too. After all, it's pretty rough to be the only ones not doing it."

"...Perhaps we should discuss this later, when we're not holding up any lines."

"Hmm?...Oh!" The Netopian woman sidestepped, having finally noticed that Kenji was right behind her. "Sorry about that! Didn't notice you were there!" And so, her business concluded, and her mind not occupied, Mrs. Jetto left the shop, the first leg of her trip complete...

Suitachi gathered up the requested items, but not before giving the woman a funny look when she wasn't looking. "A HPMemory, a PowerUP, and a Process Upgrade, and that's...yep, 4200z. That'll do it. Have a nice day, kid." He placed the upgrades on the counter for young Kenji to gather them up, and proceeded to gather up the money for himself.

Kenji mumbled "I'm not a kid..", his smile faltering as he took his items and headed out. Though he did have a bit of childish excitement as he couldn't wait to install these.

Like a gust of wind, Emily burst into the shop as soon as its automatic doors would allow, her long blonde hair catching drag from the air as she darted in between isles and shelves. Since she was just here the other day, Emily could easily remember what was where and as a result pick out an HP Memory and Process Upgrade from the store stock without really even missing a step. Finishing her selection, Emily then hurried up to the counter and plopped the items next to the register.

"This is all, sorry for the hurry! Flight to catch!" exclaimed Emily in an almost gasping voice as she never actually stopped jogging in place. "Quantum lasers to fire, galaxies to explore, you know how it goes!"

... Who really knew how that goes?

(Buying: HP Memory 1, Process Upgrade 5)

"... What?" said Suitachi, taking a passing glance at the items Emily had picked and confirming the purchase on the register. Taking a moment for the words to click in his head, he rolled his eyes and chuckled when it came to him. "Ah, NAXA, right. There you go, have a nice day, miss," he said as he gestured towards the items on the counter.

"Thank you!" replied the energetic Emily before stashing her purchases in her purse and running out the door.

... Well, lightly jogging to the door since it was rude to run in a shop, jogging in place in front of the automatic door until it opened, THEN running out the door. It was a process.

Rei strolled into the store casually as he played with a calculator on the screen of his PET. He was trying to come up with the most effective purchases for what he could afford, but it was proving difficult to afford everything he needed this time around. As he approached the counter with a sigh, he made up his mind and readied the appropriate funds.

"Hey there. I'd like to pick up 4 PowerUPs, 2 process upgrades, a element buster upgrade and a seeking buster upgrade, please."

He fumbled a bit as he readied the zenny for the purchase, making sure he had the right amount before hand.

((10,000 + 3300 + 500 + 1500 = 15,300z ))

"Sure, one moment." Suitachi said as he got up to gather up the upgrades requested, setting them on the counter in a small brown bag. "Here you go."

"Thanks a lot, haha. This will certainly help out." Rei replied, collecting his purchase and heading for the door. Knowing full well the whole time his navi was getting impatient to upgrade.
