Hey Majin, I bet you know what you could use Fartman for. He would make a good boss, if you truly thought about it. Oh I don't know, it just seems like a fun idea. For I am the mod of the people.

Legoroy, for that, you are now forgiven for liking yuri and not accepting yaoi. Until you do it again.

That wins in so many ways. Making him "Fire" type is a nice touch. Same with the rainbow gun.

Name: The Metool Rangers
Go, go Metool Rangers!
Your powers shine so bright!
Go, go Metool Rangers!
Let the crystals glow with might!
Your super-sentai style shows,
When you swiftly save the day,
With crystal power that endows,
Ranger power all the waaaay!
Go, go Metool Rangers!
Red, Black, Green, Pink, and Blue!
Go, go Metool Rangers!
They fight for me and you!
And when the rangers all unite
MegaMet they do release!
And they will always win the fight
For everlasting peeeeeeaaaace!
Go, go Metool Rangers!
You Mighty Sentai Metool Rangers!
Common Appearance: Five ordinary mets that, mysteriously enough, appear to be wearing bracelets on their legs that are each inlaid with a different gemstone. When transformed, their helmets become their respective color and each gains a visor that obscures their eyes, preventing any other Metools from knowing their secret identities.
Background: Seven years ago, the Legendary "Metool Hero" engaged in a fierce battle against the equally renowned Militiaman.exe. While the Hero barely escaped with his life, the grievous wounds he had incurred would ultimately play a role in his untimely deletion. Swearing revenge, five of the Metool Hero's biggest fans tracked down the enigmatic "Virus Otaku" and volunteered themselves as test experiments, hoping that the Otaku's enhancements would grant them the edge they would need in battle. They succeeded — perhaps all too well. As five of the only viruses to escape the Virus Otaku's control, they now run rampant throughout the network, challenging those who would oppress their helmeted brethren...
Note that the combination techniques all can only be used once per battle.
Name: Metool Ranger Red
"You think *you're* a hero?!"
Gender: Male
Element: Normal
Type: Sword
Personality: An idealistic hero who views the wanton slaughter of Mets as the most important issue of modern net-society. He possesses a commanding voice and a sharp tactical mind, but is very prone to long-winded speeches and self-righteousness.
Custom Weapon: Pickaxe Sword — Red's pickaxe blade folds upward and sharpens to a razor edge, creating a long curved blade. Though the sword is disproportionately large for Red's diminutive frame he wields it with such grace and agility one would think it were weightless.
Attacks:
Pickaxe Sword — Acrobatic movements and maneuvers strike for 20 damage per hit
Crimson Charge — Red channels energy into his Pickaxe Sword, causing it to glow a brilliant shade of crimson. (Adds +20 to any attacks made next turn, each attack reduces the accuracy of its target by 1 rank. 3TC)
Stroke of Brilliance — Red draws his blade, faces an opponent and leaps forward, disappearing in a flash of red light and reappearing behind his target. A split second later, several sparks inexplicably explode from the target, showering the battlefield in light. (60 damage, dodges 1 attack, reduces accuracy of all opponents. 5TC)
Combination Attacks:
Red and Black - Shining Bullet: Charges one of Black's bullets with the light of justice, blinding its target for two turns.
Red and Green — Falling Star: Green creates an updraft, sending Red spiraling into the air and crashing down on an opponent. The impact of the blade creates shockwaves that can damage nearby opponents: (100 damage to one, 50 to any nearby the impact point.)
Red and Blue — Spiral Toss: Blue grabs Red's legs and spins them around quickly. Red's blade is outstretched during this time as to damage all surrounding opponents. After one pass, Blue hurls Red toward one opponent at a high speed. (40 damage in a radius plus knockback effect, then 80 damage to one opponent)
Red and Pink — Light of Justice: Pink channels the strength of a healing or support chip into Red's Pickaxe Sword, causing it to refract in a prism-like form and affect all of the Metool Rangers. (Any one chip used by Metool Pink now affects all members of the Metool Rangers)
Battlechips: InfinitexGuard, 2xNorthwind
Name: Metool Ranger Black
"Why do I have the gun? Is it because I'm black?"
Gender: Male
Element: Normal
Type: Cursor
Personality: Sarcastic, sardonic, and quick to criticize, Black is the resident cynic of the Metool Rangers. He'll be the first to criticize Red's idealism, but he'll also be the first to support him in battle. Fiercely loyal and determined, the Black Metool Ranger is not to be taken lightly.
Custom Weapon: Pickaxe Cannon — The blade of Black's pickaxe dulls and folds upward at a 45 degree angle, creating the stock for a rifle-like weapon. The shaft of the pickaxe becomes the barrel of the gun.
Attacks:
Pickaxe Cannon — Shots deal 15 damage per strike and can hit up to 2 opponents.
Rapid Fire — Multiple rounds are fired from Black's cannon. (Deals 15x5 damage, 4TC)
Sniper Strike — Fires a piercing round into the leg of an opponent, reducing mobility. (40 damage, -2 actions next turn. 5TC)
Combination Attacks:
Black and Green: Sky Snipe — Green launches Black into the air with a powerful gust of wind. Black becomes invincible next turn and cannot be targeted. However, he cannot use any combination attacks while in the air.
Black and Blue: Find Cover! — Blue ducks into his shell and Black dives behind it, using it for defense. For the next turn, Blue becomes invincible and Black can only be targeted as a secondary target.
Black and Pink: Toxic Bullet — Pink tosses a vial to Black, who promptly loads it into his Pickaxe gun and fires it at an opponent. A poisoned opponent loses the ability to effectively participate in combat. (Disables target opponents' signature attacks for three turns and deals 30 damage per turn)
Battlechips: InfinitexGuard, 2xShotgun
Name: Metool Ranger Green
"The sky's the limit! Watch how we soar!"
Gender: Female
Element: Normal
Type: Wind
Personality: The youngest and most spirited of the Metool Rangers is a peppy little thing that tries her hardest at everything she does. Even the most mundane tasks are framed as simple games, allowing her to complete them with energy and cheerfulness. While Black believes she harbors a crush on Red, she vehemently denies anything of the sort.
Custom Weapon: Pickaxe Bow — the shaft of Green's pickaxe shortens and rotates, becoming a handle for a makeshift bow. The string is strung between the edges of the pickaxe and a small quiver of green arrows appears on Green's back.
Attacks:
Bow shot — Each arrow deals 10 damage. Up to 2 can be fired in one action.
Tornado Trap — Creates a wall of high-velocity wind that swirls around an opponent, preventing them from moving or participating in battle. (Target cannot move or use melee attacks. Sharply reduces all projectile attacks made by, or targeting the victim. 1 turn duration, 3TC)
Gust Defense — Creates a strong gust of wind that decreases target opponent's accuracy by two ranks. Once per turn.
Combination attacks:
Green and Blue: Dust Tornado — Green whips up a whirlwind while Blue smashes the ground, sending debris into the whirlwind. The resulting tornado spreads the debris across the battlefield in a rain of sharp hard objects. Naturally, the Mets are protected by their hard-hats. (60 damage to all opponents, reduce accuracy of all)
Green and Pink: White Wind — By dispensing a healing agent into the air, Pink enables Green to heal all five Metool Rangers by 25% of their maximum health.
Battlechips: InfinitexGuard, 7xAirshot
Name: Metool Ranger Blue
"I won't let you hurt my friends!"
Gender: Male
Element: Normal
Type: Break
Personality: Slow, dumb, and happy. Blue doesn't speak much, and when he does, it seems like a labored endeavor. Blue is easily the strongest of the Metool rangers and will constantly go out of his way to protect the others.
Custom Weapon: Pickaxe Staff — The blades on Blue's pickaxe fall off, essentially making his weapon a giant pole. Go figure.
Attacks:
Staff strike — Each hit deals 30 damage
Counter Strike — Swings his staff like a baseball bat, reflecting any projectile attack and adding 10 to the final damage.
Giant Helmet — Creates a giant Met-hat that covers himself and one ally for one turn. Hat cannot be overturned or pierced by any means. (Prevents all damage to both for one turn, 4TC)
Combination Attacks:
Blue and Pink: Absolute Defense — A GIGANTIC Met Hat crashes down onto the field, covering all five Metool Rangers and protecting them for one turn. During this time, each recovers 10% of their total HP.
Battlechips: InfinitexGuard, 3xRockcube
Name: Metool Ranger Pink
"I swear, I'm NOT the gay one!"
Gender: Male
Element: Normal
Type: Recovery
Personality: Very sensitive and self-conscious about his color, Pink will often carry the belief that everyone is judging him based on his appearance. Though he tends to worry a lot, he is likely the most level-headed member of the team when things take a turn for the worst — of course, that may also be attributed to the fact that he carries an obscene number of recovery battlechips around with him. Will often hide under his Met-hat until the others require healing.
Custom Weapon: Pickaxe Daggers — Pink's pickaxe splits in two and reforms, its blades becoming a pair of small daggers.
Attacks:
Dagger Slash — Each hit deals 10 damage. Rarely used.
Revival Flash — Pink charges up his daggers with healing energies and plunges them into his nearest fallen comrade. The powerful restoration energies reactivate the viral signatures in the target, allowing them to return to battle once again. (Revives one Metool Ranger to 50% health, 5TC)
Battlechips: InfinitexGuard, 10xBarrier, 4xLeafshield, 10xRecover80, 20xRecover50, 2xRecover150, 1x LifeAura

Power Rangers can be applied to absolutely everything, with the right amount of though. And this might be the most awesome use so far... Even surpassing Disgaea 2's Prism Rangers.

I can see it now...
"We will defeat you in the name of justice!" the red Met cried, swinging its sword emphatically. Gunner's expression was flat and exasperated.
"Uh... You guys know you're viruses, right? You're the Net's antagonists, not its defenders." These guys were deluded...
The red Met waved dismissively with its sword, turning away from the navi. "Justice is subjective. Is it right to slaughter Mets for profit?"
Gunner shrugged. "Of course. They're going to end up deleting someone eventually, so it's a service to the Net to get them out of the way before that."
Confusion flashed across the Met's face before hardening into stubbornness. "Just shut up and fight us."

The Metool Rangers could each VirusCross with several Navi....And then we'd have...Nah, that's a little too evil. Anyway, great job Skyrender!
last edited by
Skyrender must read for developmental psychology... but since the rangers seemed so popular, I'll give you a little bonus. Every set of "heroes" needs a "villain," so...
...and yeah, FaidelChaos, that was the Met Hero.
Name: White Metool Ranger
"You viruses should know your place!"
Element: Normal
Type: Sword
Gender: Male
Background: Infuriated by the desertion of the five Metool Rangers, the Virus Otaku infiltrated the burial site for the Metool Hero and gathered the data from his remaints. Through a great deal of processing and study, he managed to extract the S-gene from the Hero's viral DNA. Splicing the gene onto an EX-class met, the most powerful man-made Metool warrior to date was born. The White Metool Ranger possesses a fighting level far beyond that of each other individual Metool Ranger due to his already considerable abilities being boosted by the Metool Hero's genetic code. Even so, the Virus Otaku knew that White would be no match for the other Rangers if their powers combined, so he sought an additional edge from his dear brother...
After losing a long-overdue battle against a certain blue "finheaded amatuer" navi, the Virus Otaku's twin brother, the Chip Otaku, was forced to turn to the viral researcher's aid. In return, he granted a few choice chips to support his twin's latest "pet" project. Armed with some deadly chips and supported at every turn by the enigmatic Virus Otaku, the White Metool Ranger began his quest. His mission - to hunt down and destroy the Metool Rangers once and for all...
Personality: Arrogant and brash, the White Metool Ranger is extremely confident in his abilities and not at all afraid to show it. While he prefers a fair fight, he is not above using sneaky, underhanded tactics in an effort to lure the Metool Rangers into the open. Low-level navis should be advised to ignore any caged, weak, or injured Mets — as the White Metool Ranger could be nearby.
Custom Weapon: Double Pickaxe Sword - White's pickaxe splits into two, and both blades elongate, generating a pair of sinister-looking curved blades.
Attacks:
Blade Arts: Each stroke deals 50 damage
Variable Virus: One of the most notable quality of the Virus Otaku's later creations is their ability to quickly adapt to any situation. Any negative effects or buffs on White are reversed this turn. (Minus accuracy increases accuracy, stuns become additional actions, etc.) 2 turn cooldown.
Wind Slash: White empowers his sword with wind energy and slashes, sending a powerful gust of wind that knocks his opponents over. Deals 10 damage to all, reduces all opponents' actions by 1. Removes all barriers and buffs. 4 turn cooldown
White Metool Power: White smashes the ground with his foot, and a white aura surrounds him, restoring lost power. Reduces cooldown of all signature attacks by 1 and heals for 50 HP. 2 Turn cooldown
Demon Met Sword: White's S-gene enables him to summon the gigantic sword originally used by the Met Hero. The blade follows his own strokes, adding 40 to any attacks made by White. Lasts 3 turns, 5 turn cooldown
Viral Assimilation: White's blades glow with a pale white energy that appears to sap the very essence out of everything they touch. To White, the technique is simply an attack that drains life from its opponents. In reality, the Virus Otaku believed that this was the key to recovering the work he invested in the original five Metool Rangers. The technique literally allows White to absorb the artificial enhancements of anything he touches, literally "eating" the data and adding it to himself. In doing so, the Virus Otaku believed he would be killing two birds with a single stone - destroying the traitorous Metool Rangers and creating the most finely-tuned virus ever concieved. (For the next four turns, any attacks made by White restore as much health as they take away.) OPB
Battlechips: InfinitexGuard, 2xNorthwind, 5xAreagrab, 5xJump, 2xBionic Enhancement, 1xWideblade, 2xSword, 2xWidesword, 1xLongsword, 6xBigbomb

The mets are friggin genius
Name: The BloodGuard (organization)
Gender: -
Type: (mostly) Normal
Subtype: (mostly) Recovery
The BloodGuard is an organization, or rather a group of freelancer navis and operators who take any job that meets their profile. And they profile is... well, guarding stuff. They don't ask questions, and abide to the contract at all costs. The team seems to solely consist of ex rescue or medical navis. The power of navis move on a very large spectrum, from pure support types to heavy tankers. The symbol of a BloodGuard navi always has a blood cross (similar to a red hospital cross) over it.
Abilities: Although each BloodGuard has different strengths and weakness, they all excel at defense. There also seems to be abilities that all of them posses.
Bloodlink: Links the health of the bloodguard and another program, be it a navi, a virii a mr.prog or anything else. To make the link they need a sample of the data of the target, which is usually provided by the contractor. However, in the case they want to link to an enemy, they need to take a sample on the spot by damaging the target and collecting the escaping fragments of data. Being in a bloodlink makes the dmg split to both parties. For example, if a HeelnaviA is hit with a sword(80), and is in bloodlink, both him and the BloodGuard take 40 dmg. The BloodGuard can only make one Link at any time, and only once per battle. However, there seems to be no restriction on how many links a single target can receive. So for example, if HeelnaviA had 2 links at the time, all 3 of them take 27 | 27 | 27 dmg. Note that linking to someone in bloodlink already, won't make link with the other Guard. So if the sword would hit BloodGuardA instead, the dmg would be split like this:
BloodGuardA 80/2=40 | HeelnaviA 80/2/2=20 | BloodGuardB80/20/20=20
Also Note that recovery (from chips or other abilities) does not split.
Fragment Control: A BloodGuard can control the fragment of data that remains after an attack that dealt at least 10 dmg. Fragments smaller than that are too unstable for them to use. He/she can call the fragment to himself and use it as a sample for bloodlink, or to heal a target 10 damage. The damage split by bloodlink counts, so if the trio in the previous fight got the hit, the BloodGuards could've healed 30 damage. One fragmentation of data can be used only once (so only by one BloodGuard, the two BloodGuards can't heal 30 | 30 each). Note that they can also use the fractions of their own data. This is a passive ability, but takes a very skilled operator to use effectively (many beginner operators miss opportunities to heal or collect data).
Chips: The BloodGuards are usually stacked with recovery/guard type chips. Many of the also carry poison and gattling chips, to make best use of the of their fragment control ability. They might also carry some +10 chips to make the gattlings hurt more. Other chips may vary with individual members.
Strategy: The BloodGuards, if working in team, usually link with the dmg dealer or the one they have to defend, then stay back and use support. If a Guard is left alone, then he links with an enemy. Being stacked with recovery chips, this makes it virtually impossible to beat a stronger BloodGuard 1 on 1 (Unless you can recover even more).
Operators: There are two type of operators in the BloodGuard, although there is no real distinction in their ranks.
The first one is a member since the funding of the organization. They were fed up how people treated rescue/medical navis, not to mention the pay. So they decided to take matters into their own hands, and started this freelancer guild of bodyguards. They got a lot more job offers from the warring depths of the undernet, the higher areas just don't need (and can't afford) the quality they offer.
Navi Appearance: The original members are clean, usually have bright colored, simple design, official-like appearance, and have a very comforting way of speech. The only thing that makes them look suspicious is the blood-cross symbol. They usually have some "undercover" GMO to be able to fit in a normal workplace.
Operator Appearence: Many of the operators work as doctors to cover their activity. Other than that, there is no real sign that indicates that one is a BloodGuard operator.
As the organization expanded, many other members joined. Although most of them are still recovery/normal types that share the same view as the original members, there are also some different types, although only sparingly. Many of the newcomers are HeelNavis that are native to the undernet, and there are rumors of exotic members who have no operators, or aren't even navis at all... There is nothing certain that can be said about the newcomers appearance (except the symbol) or general power. They are the raw card in the BloodGuard.
The blood guards can be contacted through the UnderSquare BBS, but you need a LOT of money if you want to hire even a single one of them. A group of them costs a smaller fortune. The payment also depends on the riskiness of the job, but the BloodGuards usually don't ask for an advance, and might even give a discount if nothing happens (that is not unusual, as most thieves, assassins etc. just turn around, go home, and take a stress relieving cyber-bath at the first sign of the BloodGuards). Also note that there are less painful ways of suicide than not paying the fee the BloodGuards. Like, swallowing a cactus while gouging your eyes out with a very dull edged, rusty spoon.
