Waiter, the Menu Please

VenusMan beamed down to the URL he had received from Maru, expecting to find the so-called 'hunting bar' as Maru called it. It didn't take long for him to find something or someone to talk to and approached the stall. "Excuse me?" VenusMan started cautiously before a window was forcibly opened in front of him, showing Maru's face and a little bit of her living place in the background.

"Normal network, program," Maru said, her eyes fixed on the cowboy hat-wearing program, "I'll pick what my Navi will hunt. And be snappy with it."
The Wrangler tipped his hat - or rather, the partially broken hat tipped itself to VenusMan in greeting without the program itself seeming to reach for it.

"Well howdy, partner! What can—" It was cut off by the forceful interruption, but diverted its attention with a slightly less jovial expression.

"Now jus' you hold onta yer horses there missy. Comin' at it all beer an' skittles like that ain't no way to start a conversation now, is it." He moved a little left and right, turning slightly, as though sorting the non-existant documents and objects on his stall. "There's an order to this. First thing is, you greet a partner, 'les you're a yack or a wag-tail, o'course, then we can get to the aquisitive end of the dealin'. Now let me jus' my lists all in a line here and we'll see what we've got needs hunted down today." He continued to fuss at the counter, taking longer than usual to print off the virus list that had been requested.

"First time operatin', is it? Don'tcha worry a bit about that, missy, I'm sure this here waddy will have ye in good hands before long. He don't half cut a figure, now, don't he? Whale of a boy! I'm sure he wouldn't let no plain-headed angelicas get the better of him in a tight spot, now would he?" Eventually he presented the list of viruses to hunt, his open, vacant expression just as easily interpreted as looking towards VenusMan as to his operator.

NinetailsNinetails (Ninetails)

A small fox-like virus, that would otherwise be nondescript if it didn't posses nine metal, razor sharp tails. Despite appearing as though the tails would hinder their movement, they are actually quite good at dodging, and are treated as having Haste for Evasion purposes only at all times. KettleKettle (Kettle)

Kettle do not attack unless and until they are attacked. This behavior does not count as a Counter or a Trap. It's simply what they do. Moving and dodging require actions, while retaliating against attacks does not. All Kettle have passive Regen. When this virus is attacked with non-Fire Damage below its max HP, it will boil over to attack nearby enemies with Aqua Damage equal to the damage taken. This effect does not damage allies. If the damage is greater than or equal to its current HP, the virus is also deleted after the counter attack. If not, the Kettle will regenerate a portion of its HP and continue on as normal. When this virus is attacked with Fire Damage, it will boil over to attack nearby allies dealing exactly its max HP in Aqua Damage. This effect will not damage enemies. The virus is automatically deleted after boiling over in this case.

TwinsTwins (Twins)

Twins viruses appear only in linked pairs, and never in odd numbers. A linked pair of Twins viruses will only link to each other, and not with any other Twins viruses present. The linked pairs are always clustered close together, and move by revolving around each other, which makes them susceptible to AoE. If one of the linked pair is deleted, and the other is not, then the virus that was deleted is revived as a free action immediately after. Both must be deleted within the span of one turn to be truly defeated. Twins viruses act in the following manner: One Twins will attack while the other moves. They then swap roles the next action, with the second virus attacking while the first moves. The virus making the move is counted as making a Dodge. The pattern is not altered even if a Twins is deleted and resurrected. They simply carry on next action as if nothing happened.

"Take a look-see, what do you reckon yer wanting to bring in today?"
Programs were mere programs and Maru certainly didn't ask for any program to talk back to her. "Oh, my bad," Maru said with a snide tone in her voice, "If you were any more of a program than you are now you could actually finish up those hunts yourself. But no, you're stuck in this dead-end place. Stuck to do your job of providing us with a list. And you think we owe you a greeting?" A feint twitch could be noticed around Maru's right eye, the only eye she had that was still functional, and it was clear there was already a massive bucket of 'the final drops' behind her act. "You clearly seem defective, program, maybe we should hunt y-"

"HahahaHAHAHA!" VenusMan bellowed, trying his very best to take away the attention from Maru. First by trying to have his volume higher than her voice, followed by muting the window and eventually trying to turn the window off. And while he eventually succeeded at closing the window, it was met by the foulest glare he had ever seen a one-eyed person give. After his little show with Maru, VenusMan looked at the Wrangler and just sighed. "My bad," he said, sounding a lot more sincere than Maru did before, "It's eh... She's ehm..." He didn't know how to continue his line of thought. Because in a private audio channel, he was already hearing Maru's voice again.

"If you're going to be that way," her voice slithered into his receivers, a voice that could put the wildest of animals on edge, "At least do the right thing and tell that ignorant speck of data we're hunting the Quaker virus. If you pick anything else... I will roast you ali-."

"Quaker!" VenusMan immediately exclaimed as he switched his calm pose to an exaggerated one and pointed at the list, his finger by the virus in question, "Boy, do I love fighting those! Yeah, Quaker! We can hunt that one, right!?" His exclamation was accompanied by a huge nervous grin on his face, his eyes glued to Wrangler's face.
"Quaker, eh?" The Wrangler seemed to focus more fully on VenusMan as it started to print out the form for him. "Loads of them crashing critters piling up around Netopia, Hades and the Vegas nets, so you can take yer pick, slick." One of his bright vacant eyes winked at VenusMan. "O'course, if'n you don't mind taken work from a defective program now, that's the one with all the information your little angelica there don't have, and the cash and chips she wants, eh? None too bright, that one, but don't you be sweatin' it partner! Good huntin' to ya!" With a tip of his hat, the program finished printing the form, which flew out of the print slot and curled over to VenusMan like it was carried by some breeze.

"Thank you," VenusMan said as he took the form. A quick glance over the writing made things more clear to him. "To be frank," he continued with a shrug, "It's not for the cash or chips." He rolled up the form again and turned away, ready to be beamed back to his PET. "She just wanted an excuse to send me somewhere dangerous," he said, the name 'Hades Isle' chiming through his script, as he vanished into the sky accompanied by a green and red beam.
