DragonierMan slowed to a crawl just as an axe bared down on him. He swiveled to the side and brought up his sword to deflect some of the blow. The blades scraped across each other and sent up a shower of sparks. Both warriors recovered quickly and stared down one another. The knight conjuring his own shield.

DragonierMan circled his opponent with his shield held high. He shifted slightly to the left, stepping across the baked ground with practiced care. His eyes widened in his visor as he watched the guard's movements carefully, waiting for the opportunity to present itself. Adrenaline surging through his veins in anticipation.

When the guard was about to launch his next attack, DragonierMan advanced into the blow. He ducked low and brought his shield up to splinter against the assault, turning the blow, and leaving an opening for DragonierMan to exploit.

The dragon shifted his grip and brought the pummel of his blade around in a right hook. The knight threw his weight behind it, the muscles tensing in his right arm as he beat a path to strike at his enemy's shield. A wicked spike at the base of the handle bit at the air, shearing a path toward the pitch-black metal. The blade dragged behind, across the ground in a wide arc, sending up more sparks against the bedrock.

The blade followed the spike as it tore through to the other side, smashing against the shield moments later. The warrior attempted to brutally wedge his blade into the dark metal, catching the shield. And using its momentum, he tried to pull the hunk of metal across the guard's body to collide with the other armed hand, crunching the man's fingers. Disarming the guard fully with a clatter.

Leaping upon the potentially defenseless guard with his wide blade, DragonierMan struck at his opponent repeatedly across the chest. The fat blade fell again and again, slashing through the air in wide swaths. DragonierMan twisted his hips and brought his weight down with every two-handed swing of the sword. Cleaving a path towards victory, as his skin hardened against future blows.

Wolfman growled between clenched teeth as the guardsman deflected fiery sword with blackened steel shield. His second strike smashed against the shield with all his strength. His flaming blade cleaved through the shield, but he was stopped short before he could strike the Navi behind steel. The guard countered Wolfman with a swipe of his hammer, but the wolf used his invisibility to his advantage and managed to dodge away.

"Sending you the DashAttack and the TankCannon," Victor informed his Navi. "Keep your guard up. I do not like the look of that hammer."

The Navi wasted no time in continuing his assault. He reversed his grip on his sword, holding both the blade at its wooden sheath pointed out behind him. He charged forward, activating the DashAttack data as he moved. He dashed within three feet of the tower guard before leaping off the ground. He let his feet lead him, planning to slam feet first against the guard. He planned to push off as he made contact, trusting in his superior agility to send him into a back flip. Using his momentum, he would backpedal and once more open up distance between himself and the guard.

He dodged backward, determined to stay out of reach of the guard's hammer. He lined up the next battlechip, sending the data coursing through his body. The Navi sheathed his sword and channeled the data into his free hand. A sphere of energy materialized in his palm, a black orb who's center was constantly swirling. Wolfman took aim at the tower guard he had been focusing on, raising him hand to point at the guard. He willed the orb to life, sending it hurdling across the battlefield toward the guard.

Wolfman could feel a third battlechip laying within him and he activated it without hesitation. A wave of shadow washed over his arms as he brought them up in a guard position. The shadows would defend him, absorbing one attack and reflecting the damage back to the assailant.

Selene dodged back behind Wolfman, using him and his guard to protect her before raising a shield of her own. The pale skinned beauty raised her arm, summoning a shaft of moonlight that would act much like Wolfman's shadow. She had activated the Guard1 battlechip data that DragonierMan had loaned her.

((@Azure: Disarm only works for "equipped" chips, such as Gutspunch and Swords. You tried to disarm the guard's hammer, but that was something that you weren't allowed to do. I'll let it pass this time, since it looked like you misunderstood few things, and disarmed a chip that was used AFTER the disarm. Something like this won't happen again.))

The first guard's shield was destroyed by Dragonier's powerful sword and left himself completely open for the next two Widesword attacks. Despite receiving those damages, the guard persisted as it swung his bare fist as it broke through the shield and the protective skin the knight had on with ease. However, when the guard tried to attack once again, the chip that empowered his fist vanished and stopped the navi in mid-attack.

The second guard also had trouble on its own as WolfMan nimbly attacked him while giving the guard little to no chance for retaliation. Even when the guard swung his axe to land a hit on WolfMan, it was extremely difficult to hit an invisible target...

[I was mistaken in my thought that the axe the guard wielded was a "weapon" that could be disarmed. I appreciate the re-target.]

DragonierMan bit his tongue as he was punched in the gut by the guard's mighty fist. He grunted in pain and stumbled back. He redoubled his grip as he recovered, clutching at his sword as if a drowning man clutching onto a piece of timber. He growled before he heaved his great sword around him and struck at the guard once more in the side. The blade sang through the air as it whipped around and bit at the guard like a giant fang.

He let his blade shatter as it embedded itself in flesh or rock. Swiftly he then weaved around his foe, shifting in practiced steps. He bobbed to one side, then another. Like a snake he looked to dodge around any counter his opponent could muster. His right hand reached behind him to rest on his hip, where a fresh scabbard sat. Grasping the handle, he unsheathed another blade, thinner than the previous monster. He brought it around in a deadly arc as he felt for an opening in his opponent's armor. The sword lashed out to strike the opponent across the chest, leaving a trail of flashing energy in its wake.

He slid to the side once more. Darting in and out of arm's range. Circling like a cobra. His scales nit themselves to his form once more, providing only the barest of protection as his opponent was more than capable of busting through it. Then he struck again. The blade leapt in his hand as he cut another swath through the air. Slashing at the guard once more with the length of his glowing blade.

Each time that DragonierMan had swung a sword, he had fed it his rage and determination. Each time they had engorged themselves and grew larger than they ought. Each strike with his blades had enough power to smash his enemy to dust. DragonierMan's opponents were strong and capable. They would not go down easily, but they would go down.

Wolfman's invisibility faded from him, revealing his location to the armored guard. The Navi was still protected by the mass of shadows that cloaked his arms, the darkness billowing like fur and lengthening his fingers into claws. However, he doubted the Guard battlechip would be enough to defend him from his opponent's attacks. The guards of this tower seemed to favor heavy weaponry. It was a real possibility that such a blow would smash straight through his guard.

The Navi decided to trust in his superior speed and agility to keep him out of the guard's reach. He was balanced on the balls of his feet, ready to move if the guard pressed his attack. He could feel Victor slotting in a handful of battlechips and wasted no time channeling them from his emblem throughout the rest of his body.

Wolfman summoned the first of the battlechips, the silver wolf's head flaring to life with an azure glow. The Navi raised his cane into the air, positioning himself in front of the guard he had been focusing on. He slammed the pommel if the cane against the earth, forcing the battlechip energy into the panels beneath his feet. The earth shook in response, a geyser of water erupting from underground. A second eruption followed the first, then a third, each making their way toward the guard of the tower.

Selene maintained her shield of moonlight as Wolfman readied his next battlechip. Wolfman raised his free hand toward the guard, channeling the surge of data into his fingertips. The Navi launched a series of energy bolts at the guard, beams of darkness that shot forward in rapid succession. Wolfman hoped that the combination of attacks would be enough to finish off the guard. With luck, DragonierMan would be able to finish off his opponent as well.

The Navi backpedaled, moving away from the two guards. If, by some chance, the two guards had survived the assault, Wolfman wanted to be far enough away to make proper use of his agility.

WolfMan and Dragonier put the final nail in the coffin as they finally overcame the two TowerGuards with their relentless attacks. Even though they had extra protection from their Undershirts, it still wasn't enough to save them from going into critical failure.

"You will not get far inside the tower..." As the two navi breathed their last words in unison, they disappeared with a beam of light that transported them away from harm. The gate to the mysterious factory tower was now open for WolfMan and Dragonier to explore...

DragonierMan watched as his opponents were ejected, then chucked his sword to the side and let it shatter as if it was made of glass. And color returned to his form as the grayscale receded. But he seemed only the slightest bit unnerved by the stoniness of the guards. "If this is the true level of their resolve, they will not be able to stop me." He breathed out in his graveled voice.

He turned to his comrades and then stooped down to plunder the pile of monies littering the ground. "It's a start," he stated... either referring to the rewards, the level of action, or the capability of WolfMan.

When he straightened out again he began adjusting the straps of his armor, loosened from the fighting. He reached up to the clasps at his neck and snapped them open. Steam and sweat dribbled out of the cracks as he pulled the stifling helmet off his head. Shoulder-length, straight dark gray hair, matted with sweat, swept out behind him as it caught a hot Hade's breeze. A Netopian face with hard lines and sunken, obsidian eyes came into light as DragonierMan tossed his helmet to the ground as well. It shattered into data and was reclaimed by the Net just as his sword was. He ran a hand through his wild hair, "Whew, that's better. Now I will be able to see when inside that blasted tower." He seemed handsome enough without his helmet on, even if his canines were slightly unnerving, as they looked sharp enough to tear through steel.
Wolfman finished off his opponent, watching as the guard vanished as his emergency systems activated. The Navi chuckled to himself, thumping his cane against the ground and leaning lightly against the wood. He glanced over at Selene, signaling for the young woman to advance. He leaned down for a moment, gathering up his share of the spoils and sending them off to his NetOp.

"I had hoped for a new battlechip," Wolfman said. "But I suppose this will do."

"Maybe we'll find some weapons within the tower," Victor responded.

"And even more battles," Selene worried.

"Just stay behind us and use what defenses you've acquired," Wolfman offered. He turned to DragonierMan. "And thank you for allowing Selene the use of your shield. You might have used it yourself in battle, but you protected her instead. I appreciate it."

"Ye-yes, thank you," Selene echoed.

Wolfman nodded, glancing at the tower ahead of them. The way was no open for them to proceed.

"Shall we?"
In response, DragonierMan tossed his pair of Guard1 chips to Selene before turning toward the tower, his white cloak swishing behind him. "Hold on to them for me. I'll want them back after we are done here." [Special Notice: Until the end of the mission, WolfMan/Selene has +2 Guard1 Battlechips and DragonierMan has -2 Guard1 Battlechips.] Then DragonierMan faced his next opponent... the gate.

[Requesting continuation.]
As soon as WolfMan, Selene, and DragonierMan opened the gate, they were immediately overwhelmed by a blast of hot air and...the fragrant smell of pastries. Compare to the dull, dusty air of Hades, the sudden transition would've set anyone off. Inside the tower, the navis found a giant furnace burning up at the center. "Who the hell opened the gate! You're gonna let all the heat out!!" Four navis appeared from the multiple doors on the walls, rushing out to find three uninvited guests across the furnace. Though they were the same size as the TowerGuards from before, they were clearly under equipped as the ones before.

"What the hell are you doing here! What did you do to the guards!!" After the short question, the navis seemed to be immediately hostile against Wolfman and Dragonier, holding...a giant rolling pin, giant spatula, giant measuring stick, and a giant whisk at hand!

DragonierMan threw open the gates, his cloak billowing out behind him in a majestic display as the hot air from inside the tower bellowed outwards and across his face. There he stood in the presence of... a bakery? Their mission was to scout out a secret confectionery laboratory? What? Those guards must have been overzealous if this was all they were guarding.

Though the brief moment of confusion on DragonierMan's face ended quickly as more navis flooded into the lobby. DragonierMan flexed his gauntleted hands in a 'come here' motion as they poured in from multiple doorways, eager for more battle. This commotion was then soon replaced by more confusion; although this time the ones confused were the apparent chefs that worked here. The chef navis brandished their baking wands and demanded to know why there were three uninvited navis (one of them an SP, but that was not known by the chefs) in their tower.

In response, DragonierMan opened his mouth... and spat a sphere of Null energy into their midst. The ball of cold-fire lanced over the furnace that predominated the center of the room and exploded in a maelstrom of light and smoke. The roar of its rapid oxidized outburst was quickly replaced by another blowout blast as a second sphere parted the cloud and exploded where the first had moments previous. The dragon's cloak flapped behind him like wings as the force of the explosions passed over his form. His tongue darted out from between his lips to taste the air, the data flowing from his first strike.

Then he moved up in front of his comrades to take the charge of the enemy ranks. He brought up his arms, armored in shimmering metal, and used them to defend against the chefs' implements. His skin became as hard as stone to better protect his pink flesh. And he swept his arms out high and then low to ward off blows. He danced across the edge of the coals with the chefs', making himself as big of a target as he could. Blocking the path to WolfMan and Selene with flailing limbs and broad torso. Absorbing blows and healing himself from the worst of the damage.

Wolfman walked into the tower side by side with DragonierMan, Selene following along at a short distance. A blast of hot air hit the Navi as soon as he stepped inside, a suffocating dry heat like the inside of an oven. He brought his hand up to his throat, loosening his collar. If the heat remained this oppressive, he might need to strip down.

A scent wafted in front of Wolfman, the Navi breathing deep. He might be in human form, but his animal senses were going strong. He could smell yeast and warm dough along with spices and cooked fruits. It was an odd transition from the dust and sulfur outside.

"Pastries?" Wolfman said aloud. "How very odd."

"Isn't this supposed to be a secret facility?" Selene asked.

"Yes," Victor answered. "And the guards outside seemingly confirmed that. Stay on guard."

Wolfman's ears caught the sound of running footsteps pounding against a metallic floor. A few seconds later, a group of Navi rushed into the central room from various doors. The Navi were large, as physically imposing as the guards at the door, but these were garbed as bakers and equipped with the tools of said trade. These bakers seemed immediately hostile to the trio of intruders. Wolfman doubted he could talk his way out of this.

"Victor," Wolfman said in a low voice. "Send me the Boomerang, the TankCannon and a Guard chip."

"Alright," the NetOp answered. "Make them count. If they move near the furnace, the heat mirage might make targeting them difficult."

The Navi nodded in response. He could already feel the battlechip energy building up within him. He gripped his cane in both hands, unlocking the hidden blade from its sheath with a slight twist and a tug. He drew his sword, but concentrated on the wooden scabbard instead. He channeled energy into the scabbard, causing the length of wood to twist and bend. The sheath morphed itself into an ebony boomerang, the ends capped with silver.

Wolfman took aim with his boomerang, planning to send the wooden projectile in a wide curve that would rip through the entire group of bakers. He raised his arm back and then let fly, the silver tip slipping from his fingers at the perfect angle. The boomerang flipped end over end, sailing through the aid. The shape of the projectile caused it to curve, cutting across the group of bakers and threatening to smash into each one in turn. One the sheath made its way back to Wolfman, he planning to catch it in his hand. Back in the hands of its owner, the sheath would snap back to its original form.

Wolfman sheathed his sword once more and slammed his cane against the ground beneath him. The released the cane, the length of wood and metal remaining standing. He brought his hands together, channeling the next battlechip into his palms. An orb of shadow materialized within his grasp, a miniature sphere that was growing larger as more energy was siphoned into it. When the orb was the size of his fist, Wolfman took aim once more. He launched the orb toward the second baker to the right, aiming straight for the Navi's chest. Wolfman knew that the orb would expand when it struck something, tripling in size for a few moments before vanishing completely. Anything caught within the sphere of darkness as it expanded would be damaged, perhaps completely devoured.

The Navi grabbed his cane, ready to move. He saw DragonierMan rushing toward him. Evidently, the armored Navi intended to place himself between his comrades and the quartet of bakers. DragonierMan was determined to meet any and all attacks head on. Wolfman smiled grimly. If his companion insisted on rushing straight into the flames, then so be it.

Wolfman dropped into a crouch. He flexed his thighs and calves, ready to leap away from any danger. He signaled Selene to do the same, the floating young woman responding by moving backward away from both Wolfman and DragonierMan. Wolfman channeled his strength into his legs, waiting for the bakers to attack so he could dash to his left or right and avoid whatever they had planned for him. As he crouched, he summoned up the last of the stored battlechip energy. As before, shadows crept over his arms to provide an ethereal shield. The shadows lengthen this fingers into claws and billowed over his arms like a wolf's coat.

Selene stood behind the two Navi, activating one of her new abilities. A shadow seemed to pass over the floating girl, smothering the ambient glow that emanated from her skin and dress. The shadows blanketed her completely until she was one with the darkness. She gained an ethereal form, a living shadow that floated in the air behind the group of Navi.

The two navis showed no mercy as they began to attack the under-equipped bakers without hesitation, sending attacks back to back before the navis could do anything. For the strangest reason, the targeted Baker was only hit by one of the Tankcannons while the ones next to him was utterly destroyed, forcing them to EJO. "This isn't good! Trigger the alarm! We can't do this alone!"

One of the navi ran to the end of the wall as he slammed his fist against it, causing a hidden stairway to reveal it self and setting off the alarm. Two more bakers ran down from the stair case, equipped with the similar utensil as the others. "I'm counting on you...*snarf*, *chomp*..." The wounded navis began to gorge themselves with a handful of breads and pastries to take care of their damages while the fresh reinforcement made their way towards Dragonier and WolfMan.

The brave DragonierMan began to take the "harsh" beating of the bakers as they began to wail down on him, but fortunately, the navi was able to restore most of his health in a blink of an eye, rendering all the attacks done to him moot.

DragonierMan warded off the blows as best as he could as the chefs advanced. His arms flailed about as they struck at him. Dents appeared on his armor where the implements hit home. Blemishing his silvered mail. But the damage did not last long before most of those same dents began to disappear from his armor. The navi regenerated quickly from that brutal beating.

DragonierMan's mouth began whisping smoke as a growling chuckle emanated from his lips. Beads of sweat from the heat around him dripped down his face to sizzle on the ground. His flushed face began to harden once more, taking on a stony countenance. His mouth opened wider, showing his sharp teeth and a cauldron of flames that danced within his throat. His mouth burned like a fireplace. "Anyone who opposes me must BURN!" the dragon hissed just before the fire that licked at his tongue leapt forth in a cone of flames, scorching all in a wide arc in front of him.

The flames broiled the ground and turned the area directly under the inferno into a burning pool of liquid hot magma. The flames continued to bellow forth even after the initial burst, sweeping across the floor like a great bird. The raptors' wavering plumage quickly turned from a searing red and orange to a bright blue and white, blinding to behold. Its sharp beak opened in a soundless screech as it flew through the air. Everything the bright fire touched melted and turned to ash. The dragon cackled with malicious glee and his gray eyes smoked in their sockets like two coals afire as the flames did their thing. Then he charged.

The remnants of the fire and ash parted as the heavily armored navi barreled through it. DragonierMan struck like a bolt of lightning, passing through or running over anyone not fast enough to get out of the way. He barreled across the landscape, skipping over lava, metal, and coal alike. Nothing seemed to be able to slow his charge... and then he reappeared where he started.

Just to charge forward again.

The whine of the alarm pierced Wolfman's ears. The Navi's enhanced senses were working against him, the shrill shriek of the alarms causing an intense pain that reverberated through his skull. He dropped his cane to the floor, wincing as he used both hands to cover his ears. Wolfman growled low, a deep and guttural sound.

He could feel a deposit of battlechip data materialize within him and summoned up the energy without hesitation. He lowered his palm from his ear, a large black orb forming within his grasp. The surface of the orb was glass, smooth and serene. The interior was chaos, a volatile mass of churning shadows. Flashes of crimson sparked to life, forming throbbing veins that stretched deep into the chaos before fading. Wolfman picked a likely grouping of the bakers and hurled the orb toward them. The bomb arched over the battlefield, threatening to land at the feet of one of the bakers. When the orb struck the ground, it would blossom. The expanding shadows would devour anything caught in its path, including the very earth itself.

Selene was clad in shadows, a being of pure darkness. The moon priestess floated silently in the background, steadily moving away from the oncoming bakers. She had her gaze focused on her surroundings. If one of the opposing Navi sought to do her harm, she was ready to move away and avoid combat.

Wolfman took a cue from his personal celestial body. The Navi was on the move, backpedaling to ensure he was out of the way of his companion's onslaught. He cut to his left, opening up space for him to view the battlefield from around DragonierMan's armored form.

He formed another sphere of shadow, a smaller orb than the last and less volatile. He hurled this orb at the same Navi as before, hoping to strike down another of the bakers before they used the pastries to restore their wounds once more. The orb struck the ground, doubling in size for a brief moment to maximize its radius, but the shadows vanished completely.

As Dragonier stood between the Bakers and WolfMan & Selena, the knight bravely took the beating in order to protect his friend. DragonierMan breathed fire upon the Bakers, one of them was singed by it and retaliated with the swing of his utensil, breaking the navi's defense.

At the worst possible timing, WolfMan's bomb exploded, swallowing up two Bakers and Dragonier all together, EJO-ing one of the enemies while seriously injuring the knight! "Now's our chance! Go go go!" The two navis wounded from last time picked up their utensils and rushed towards the injured DragonierMan, but it was a mistake on their part. Bombarded by attacks one after the other, the bakers never stood a chance, only landing a single hit before all of them was simply EJO'd...

Even after the bakers were taken care of, the alarm did not cease as it continued to screech...

"Damn," Wolfman muttered as he saw DragonierMan get caught in the explosion of his bomb. "You alright?"

"I doubt it," Victor answered. "You blew him up and then those bakers smacked him around."

"Just do something useful and send him a subchip," Wolfman barked. "I should do my part in aiding my allies."

As Victor transferred a mini energy pack to DragonierMan, Wolfman gathered up his portion of the spoils. There was a handful of zenny and some more data fragments that Victor could use to expand Selene's functions. All in all, nothing to write home about.

"DragonierMan," Wolfman called. "You can use this subchip to heal yourself. My apologies for getting you caught up in my attack. I usually have better aim." The Navi turned to address Selene. "You did good. We should be able to upgrade your systems after this."

The girl nodded in response, moving to follow after Wolfman as the Navi headed deeper into the tower.

*Cough.*

DragonierMan stood there charred black as pitch, as if covered in a thin layer of coal dust. His mouth opened and he let out a quiet wheeze, a plume of soot expelling from his lips. His body wavered for a moment as he stumbled over the coals. His stumbling kicked up a cloud of dust and embers, which licked at his boots. He caught himself just prior to falling to one knee on the metal floor.

A blue-white nimbus of energy surrounded him as his unseen operator healed his navi. WolfMan added his own healing to the mix, causing most of the char caked upon the knight to slough off and join its brethren on the floor. DragonierMan stood up, but did not turn to face his new comrade. Silence followed a moment as WolfMan collected his SP and walked past DragonierMan toward the next prominent door, only hearing the barest of steady breathing from the dragon. His eyes downcast.

Then DragonierMan followed after WolfMan and Selene.

The two navis (and one SP) continued their investigation over the tower as they went up the hidden stairs that appeared during their previous fight. The air began to turn thicker with heat and sweeter with the baking pastries, but everything seemed uneasy as no more of those attacking bakers showed up...

It wasn't till Dragonier and WolfMan finally reached a floor...A hot, burning floor as the metal panels were heated like a baking pan. "RAWWWRRRR!" A terrible roar was heard just ahead of the two, but it was accompanied by the sweetest aroma that they have ever smelled...along with one of the strangest sight they've seen. Four misshaped beings, all of which was entirely made out of pastries and breads, were a frankenstein of different animal shapes that made them half-cute and half-terrifying. One of them were a giant bear-giraffe made out of bearclaws and baguettes, while the other was a mix of a feline and a fish with croissants and some strange, oriental, fish-shaped bread.

Four of the monstrosities, along with two of the bakers, were standing in the way to a giant, red door that most likely held something important!

The roar of the monstrous pastries washed over the trio. DragonierMan's dark, wild mane rustled and swept back upon his head as the hot air kissed his face and neck. His eyes squinted against the breeze, then scanned over the room. Four abominations and two of their creators lay before them on panels of heated metal. The day had continued to build to stranger sights.

Wordlessly, the knight shifted and pulled a large wooden spoon from the kitchen racks aligning the walls with a gloved hand. The wood smoldered in his grip as his other hand came up to grasp the wide bowl of the spoon. His skin turned a shade of ebony as he pulled back with both hands and slowly bent the spoon into an arc. It cracked and splintered a little under his hands, but the fire-baked wood still held strong. His plate no longer shined in the cooking light, covered in scales, as he raised the boomerang above his shoulder with his right hand. His left hand was held in front of his body to stabilize the throw.

Steam crept from the joints in his armor as energy welled within him. The wooden spoon began to glow in his hands, taking on a sickly, green sheen. Stepping into the throw, he whipped the curved blade forward and released with a flick of the finger. The glowing boomerang initially curved around to the left and climbed gently. It leveled out in mid-flight as it arced around to cut through the four abominations as they stood grouped on their pan. The emerald aura gave the spoon a biting edge.

The knight's arms flung out to both sides as the boomerang swept among the viruses, gripping hold of a small metal pan and a whisk. He brought them down off the wall and up as a shield and sword, to use them as a defense against the blows of his opponents. Once more he ended up as the vanguard as he took his enemies charge. He swept the pan in front of his face to absorb one blow, denting the metal, then brought his whisk up to turn another. The boomerang finished its arc by then by popping up slightly, hovering, then stalling near him. The knight weaved under the boomerang as it came, letting it clatter against the nearby stone.

Finally, the knight turned back into a dragon and opened his great jaw. White flames danced within his mouth, moments before expelling in a torrent at his foes. The dragon spat a flood of bleached pellets at one abomination, then turned his head slightly and spat another flood at a second. Like a stream of pale fish, the orbs of light darted from between his lips to crash against the rocks of the abominations. Scattering across the battlefield like the blasts of a machine gun.
