Just a walk in the desert

Lucia and her companions carefully stepped through the common portal from Net Square and into the far different climate from their previous location. Which made the navi ooo softly and start to stretch out and pop her shoulders and fingers as she took in the bright digital sun overhead, and the heated sands beneath her bare feet. Which brought something of a giggle to her, while Artio lifted his head to sniff at the dry air faintly.

Sephoinne on the other hand simply kept herself floating just above the sandy terrain under foot, looking around the network with a curious smile. "Well then, shall we be off?"

Lucia quickly nodded in agreement and pointed off in a seemingly random direction before skipping off where she'd pointed. "Yes! Onward, to adventure!"

Lucia and her companions arrived at the edges of the Netfrican desert, ready to breath the fresh air of the open wilds for what must certainly feel like the first time in along while. the location they'd arrived at seemed to be a transitional verge, just at the edge of the endless sands, with cool grass underfoot and behind them. the grassy land continued ahead of them, on their left, but to the east it faded into scrubby soil, and eventually away into hot sand. A light breeze was blowing towards them from the north, but it carried with it a dry heat that made the bright sunlight feel hotter.

The trio were alone in this particular area. Peeking out at them from two stone columns that emerged from the ground at different points ahead of them, a pair of cautious ninja-like viruses showed themselves occasionally, while a sound from above and to her left might draw the flame-sprite's attention to a small fox-like creature that was perched atop the pillar nearest her. For a moment it looked quite cute, until ,with a curious tilt of its head, a series of nice razor-sharp metal tails fanned out behind it and began to whip and coil about.

Looking east, out into the desert, Lucia would be able to see two shakes in the distance, dashing through the sand as they raced towards the party in a seemingly aggressive way, as well as a glint of green poking up from the sand, further to the north.

They are able to move through any kind of terrain with the exception of Cracked, Broken, Missing, Glass, and Metal. They are not subject to the adverse effects of the terrain they are moving through, with the sole exception of Poison. -=Netfrica Battle 1, Start!=-

Lucia was in quite high spirits as she ran and skipped barefoot through the warm green grass. Not a care in the world, which is why she was caught by surprise from wandered close to the adorable little fox sitting atop a stone pillar. Only then realizing that it wasn't alone, but had friends as well!
"Haha! Viruses! Aww, but a cute little one too, why don't you go run home little thing. Here, go on, shoo!" With her call, Lucia flicked a hand to gesture towards the little creature, almost passing it from her mind before she realized the wind did not seem to follow.

Again surprised, she glanced at her hand before flinging it harder towards the creature. "What the hell... Why can't I blow it away!?"

Watching the act from above, Vincent shook his head in the small screen that popped up behind the navi and her companions. "Things have changed Lucia, no more can you freely direct the wind as you will, at least in that manner."

"What?! No, but... Well that is butts! BUTTS! HMPH!" With a pout, Lucia stomped a foot into the grass and glared at the little fox, only to blink and glance up as Sephoinne had moved up behind her to pat her head with a few feathers. "Now now dear, a battle to be won, pout later."

"Indeed, Artio, go!" No sooner had the command been given, the large feral beast burst into action. Dashing across grass and soil as he charged head-on towards the serpents in the sands coming their way, his form shimmering in the dash as sparks rose out then seemed to solidify and take on the sheen of steel as he encased himself within his battle armor.

Lucia, not to be caught to long in her pouting, let out a faint huff towards the razor tailed creature and stuck out her tongue while a blazing heat rose about her, surrounding her in a faint, shimmery glow. "You sit tight!" She offered as small, annoyed command before spreading her arms out and widening her stance, letting the flames that dance around her ankles sink down and fade into the grass, creating faint crackling lines that shot towards the other spires.

Encircling both in a large ring that should encompass those hidden behind, it was the only warning the ninja's would receive before she let out a loud "HA!" and clenched here fists, while twin blasts of fire soon erupted from those circles, threatening to scorch to ash anything unfortunate enough to be caught within.

Meanwhile Artio had been biding his time, his gaze locked upon the snakes coming his way, and once he felt they were close enough to strike, he let out a booming roar of feral rage, hoping to shake the viruses to their core and give them pause.

Back with the two girls, Lucia took the fire's blaze as hopes to take to the sky, as she gathered the winds about her and Sephoinne and let out a sudden blast to send them launching skywards. Much to the surprise of the harpy behind her, who could only chuckle in surprise and gaze down at the battlefield below. "Well then, I should get in on this.. Master, if you would please. I've my eye on the little darling below."

"By all means then, strike it down." Vincent offered as another set of chips were sent to the digital world. The first of which, connecting with the new support program, which she accepted happily as her wings started to shift in color from their normal bronze to a lighter, soft blue glow.

Which she promptly turned towards the Ninetails and thrust her wings forward, sending a blast of steaming winds down below. Watching with interest as the vapors gathered into that of a large fist, sailing towards the poor creature.

Lucia, who might have complained about her attacking such a cute creature, was instead keeping her focus further on the battlefield, steeling her gaze as bow was summoned in a flurry of fire and two arrows were drawn and notched into place. She drew them back and steadied herself, far more used to being in the air than one without wings normally would be. Only to finally loose the twin fanged bolts, sending them shooting across the battlefield towards the serpents near Artio.

Despite having to get used to some minor changes in the net since her last combat outing, Lucia and her companions were still quick off the mark in hunting their current foes. Artio took point on dashing out to face the oncoming worms, who were, in turn, racing into join the fray. Their occasional rises through the sand was the only glimpse anyone really got of them as they dew in, but they were very, very fast. The wolf raised his defences to meet them even so, while Lucia focused her attention on the hiding ninja viruses.

They seemed to be waiting to see what she would do, but her first attack swiftly scorched one ninja from the net before it could react. The other responded by darting out from its pillar just long enough to hurl a flurry of small garden tool at Lucia and her newest support. fortunately it was rushing, and of the six pointed darts, the three directed at Sephoinne missed entirely, while only one of the three managed to strike Lucia, and even it dissipated on her defences. A second column of fire, meant for the remaining ninja, failed to connect with it, but it seemed like it had already expended its energy for the moment, and couldn't attack any further.

Out in the sands, the snakes closed in on Artio first, as he was the nearest target to them, while the wolf held his ground. Their speed was deceptive, and before he knew it, each one burst out of the sand from behind his position, lancing towards him. One, he managed to avoid, just barely, while the other crashed through, taking a chunk of integrity off his barrier. As they passed, though, Artio made his presence known more fiercely, and the force of his challenge seemed to knock both worms off their course for a moment, and they crashed over the surface of the sand in a brief tumble.

The Ninetails, finished looking at the odd group of companions, darted down from its perch and threw itself at Lucia, spinning the bladed ends of its tails about to try and slice her. It was a wild flurry, and only a couple of them nicked her barrier, which continued to hold firm for now. At that point, however, the archer leapt up high for a better vantage point, and the updraught of wind that helped her rise carried both her SP, and a very perturbed fox virus along with her.

The air column was, of course, only meant for friends, so Sephionne very swiftly blasted the critter out of the current with her attack, eliminating it with extreme decisiveness. Lucia, meanwhile took sight and aim on the two snakes, striking them both with her arrows before they could burrow sluggishly back into the sand and try to reposition themselves.

The trip into the sky above the battlefield, albeit short, was more than long enough for Lucia to make a pre-emptive strike on the serpents. Though the trip down was coming far to soon, and on the fall down, the little navi glanced behind her and lightly pats Sephoinne's thigh during the fall, offering the support program a soft, amber glow that quickly surrounded her feathery partner. With a wink the navi turned her attention ahead again. "I leave the ninja to you!"

Upon the last moments of her freefall, Lucia lowered further and tucked into a roll with her landing, only to spring herself up in a moving flip that quickly turned to a dash as she rushed out into the sands. Though the navi was in no way simply out for a quick jog, she instead was keeping her eyes upon both parts of the battlefield, ready to offer aid to either of her allies should the situation call for it.

Sephoinne seemed to be willing to do just ask Lucia had requested of her, and glanced up as she gracefully lowered down to hover just above the grassy terrain once more. "My Master, if you would please once more." This time while Vincent seemed to give no verbal response, there was an obvious soft glow of light that signaled the use of a battlechip, which promptly transferred itself to the harpy. She in turn, set her sights upon the little Genin and the stone it was hiding with, and as if to call upon the legends and heritage of her origins, she thrust her wings apart wide and let out a terrifying, echoing screech. Sending a pulsing sonic wave towards the stone spire the cowardly little creature seemed to love to hide behind, though once those waves collide with the solid rocky barrier, they'd almost seem to meld into it before bursting in all directions from the stone, hopefully surprising the sneaky little virus and ending it's little troublesome tactics.

Meanwhile across the battlefield, Artio was wasting no time in his own strikes, as promptly after his stunning roar, he charged the nearest serpent strikes out. His claws taking on a bright golden glow as he used his elemental nature to send a shocking slash at the stunned virus. Immediately after he spun in the sands and pounced at the second snake, planning to deliver to it the same electrifying mauling that its brother may have experienced.

All the while Lucia decided to keep her gaze shifting from one battle to the other. Preparing herself to bring about the final blow to anything that happened to survive her creature's assaults.

A small fox-like virus, that would otherwise be nondescript if it didn't posses nine metal, razor sharp tails. Lucia couldn't help but give a cheer of joy as her allies took down the remaining viruses with little trouble, even going so far as to whistle softly and wave to Sephoinne. "Woo, that's impressive! I thought you supporters could only use one battle chip, like Arty does."

The harpy seemed to smile about the praise as she started to drift her way over and rolled her shoulders calmly. "Oh he and I are quite different. Let's just say a woman has her secrets hm? Though speaking of, perhaps you should see just what that green glow is."

That seemed to catch the navi's attention, and she spun around to look towards the half buried Mystery Data. "Ah! Right! Arty, take care of cleanup alright!" She gave something of a laugh as she started to hop, skip and bounce her way over to the MD, only to hop atop it and kneel enough to knock softly. "Wakey wakey, let's see what we get!" After which, she promptly flipped off to land beside her prize to watch and see just what she gets.

[Open GMD!]
Opening the GMD without an Untrap caused the GMD to open up and reveal...

1,800z!
Lucia gave a cheer as the mystery data spilled over with Zenny, quickly gathering it all up and sending it off to her operator. Afterwards she turned to casually walk her way over to Artio and Sephoinne as they got together near the edge of the sandy desert.

"Well that went well! Sephy you are really great in a fight, I can't wait until we get you some additional power and skills." As she spoke she hugged her arms around Artio and looked up at the tall harpy.

Sephoinne nodded and smirked down to the short little navi, offering a wink. "Well I live to serve dear sister. Though I'm thankful the master was sure to give me the capabilities to drift above the sand. Such a bothersome network you've brought me to on our first outing. Sand gets everywhere after all."

Artio seemed the only one of the trio who looked actually annoyed by the sand, giving them both a dull look before letting out a huffed breath. "I'm the one with fur here.. Well, shall we continue then? Master didn't tell us to stop so let's keep going."

Lucia blinked before smiling and hugging her arms around Artio again before petting his head lightly. "That's okay Arty! I can help give you a bath later to make it better! And right, let's go!"

With short talking done, the trio set out once more, venturing deeper into the network.

With their spoils properly collected, the fire sprite and her companions were ready to seek out more targets of their hunt. They had to depart from the softer edges of the desert and start heading into the hostile sands now, and the baking heat of the land would have been unpleasant for anyone not used to regularly bathing in lava.

For a while, the sand made precious little variation in its wide plains and rolling dunes, but soon enough something stood out in the distance, over the heat haze. As they drew closer, it turned out to be a pair of thick black columns, made of an imposing black rock and standing at the peak of two oddly uniform sand dunes. Each one was lit up by a flame light at the top, which proved to be a pair of candle viruses emitting their haunted flame lights.

At the bottom, between the two dunes, a long, low wall of similar looking stone crossed between them, curved slightly an looking notably more solid than either of the raised columns. Two staves moved behind the wall, before a pair of MettFire peeked out, one at either end, then squeaked and darted back again when they saw Lucia coming closer. There was something unusual about this set of structures, but it was hard, at first to put a finger on exactly what it was. Off to the far side, on their right, the bounty-hunters caught sight of another snake virus swimming through the sands towards them, giving them a convenient excuse to stop and deal with the situation they'd stumbled upon.

SnakeArmSnakeArm (SnakeArm)

SnakeArm viruses are among the fastest moving viruses in MMBN, and thus have 2 free Movements each turn. They move by burrowing underground at high speed, and only occasionally pop out of the ground to get their bearings. They just about treat the ground as if it were water, and are normally only hittable by most forms of attack when they are above ground. They are able to move through any kind of terrain with the exception of Cracked, Broken, Missing, Glass, and Metal. They are not subject to the adverse effects of the terrain they are moving through, with the sole exception of Poison. As is normal, Snakearms are subject to damage by Ground attacks, terrain changes, etc while they are burrowed. SnakeArm can attack airborne targets, and their attack can pass over the terrain types they normally cannot burrow or swim through.

-=Battle 2, Start!=-
It was becoming clear that the navi was starting to regret coming out into the sandy plains that were the endless desert of net. As she kicked her toes into the sands and shook her head with a soft huffed breath, "Don't get me wrong... I like the feel of the warm sand against my toes. But honestly I'm starting to miss the icy winds of home. At least there the surroundings were interesting, here it's just sand."

Though before really anyone else got the chance to comment upon her complaints, Lucia spotted something interesting in the distance and rush towards it. "Hey! What's that! Ooo, hey hey Arty! Don't those look like horns!" Lucia laughed before she spotted the small flames mounting to tops of the two dark pillars jutting from the sandy dune. "Oh! With those it looks like some giant monster is buried here. Hey let's dig it up!"

Artio let out a low groaned breath, though that quickly turned to a warning growl as he spotted the staff wilding viruses peeking at them from behind a low wall. "Later, viruses are here." he spoke as his fur ruffled up and sparks flashed across the beast's back as he prepped for the coming battle.

At least Lucia could change topics and mindsets easily, as no sooner had he called his warning that the fire spirit took a quick glance around before kicking off in the sand hard and burst into a fiery ball as she started to run. "You two take the worm, fire boys are mine!"

"Got it, Seph!" Artio responded as he gave a quick spin in place and kicked off enough to bounce just behind the harpy and then dashed beneath her feathers. Much to the floating bird's surprise as she quickly found herself straddling the large beast, "H-hey! Ask a lady first next time!" came a complaint but still Sephoinne leaned low as the feral support program took to running as well, kicking sand behind him as he charged the serpent, closing the distance between them.

Lucia would do far more than simply try to reposition on the battlefield, while running she flung out her arm skyward, and called into life three icy spears high in the sky above the tips of the towers. Swinging her hand down she sent the shards shooting down, planning for all three to target the same flaming candle atop a tower.

Far from finished she used the same hand to clench down and send a burst of flame above and below as her bow formed itself within her fingers. Taking to a quick spin around in the sand as she drew a wasp stinger-tipped arrow and notched it to full draw so that once her spin was finished, she'd loose the string and fire the homing bolt towards the second candle.

Finally she finished her run, sliding in the sand to a slow halt once she felt she was lined up with the low standing wall. Half kneeling with one arm down to steady herself as she took the brief pause to let out a slow, calming breath as gaze steadied and settled upon her next target. Meanwhile her bow seemed to return to its fiery origin and draw back to a tightly condensed, ready to burst ball of energy in her palm. With a loud "HAA!" she slapped her open hand down into the sand, thrusting that bundle of energy into the terrain, only for it to erupt in a grand, blazing tower of flames that started to cross the battlefield along the wall, hopefully catching both those little staff wielders by surprise.

With Artio handling the travel arrangements, Sephoinne was able to instead focus fully upon the task at hand, and crossed her wings before her chest as she closed her eyes, accepting the offering from her Master beyond, so as she parted her wings just after, a sparking ring of energy was remaining within, only to be tossed towards the sand tackling virus coming towards them. "Catch cutie!"

With the baking heat unable to faze Lucia, she was the first to dart off, with her Support Programs following behind to split up into two. The viruses seemed to follow the paths of the split-off party, and silently agreed to divide and conquer among the ranks. With that, the HauntedCandles began a haunting wail as they summoned up plumes of fire from underneath the sands, erupting from underneath Lucia and her fellows. The sands made it hard to move around, and as such, all of them were hit by the flames, though Lucia was fortunate enough to be protected by her aura, while Sephoinne (-20) and Artio (-20) were slightly singed. The sands beneath their feet also changed to a slippery glass surface from the intense heat.

Lucia mounted a counterattack with her aquatic spears and a stinger-tipped arrow, but unfortunately, her aim wasn't quite on point today due to the slippery nature of the glass, and most of the attacks missed, save for one of the spears. Her next attack was more accurate, summoning a grand tower of flames--much more potent than that of the HauntedCandles', which headed for the Mettfires quite quickly. As she initiated her attack, however, the SnakeArm snuck up behind her slammed into her back (-20), but it wasn't enough to stop her attack, which roasted the Mettfires rather easily. Unfortunately, the Mettfires had already initiated their attack beforehand, causing a hail of meteors to fall from the heavens that struck each of the combatants quite squarely. (-20, -20, -20)

Fortunately, Sephoinne was there with the assist, tossing out a ZapRing towards the now-vulnerable SnakeArm. The attack hit true, and the serpentine virus spasmed violently before laying still on the sands, unable to burrow back into safety.

Lucia grunted after being struck by the sneaky little snake virus, though she managed to send her fiery tower to its mark all the same. Scowling and glancing back towards the others as her form burst into a ball of flame once more. "You two take the snake. I got the night lights!"

She couldn't help but grin as she shot up like a rocket from where she'd been standing upon the glass, having had her fill of the slick surface more than once before, she instead chose the high road and with the aid of a large gust of wind, sent herself above the battlefield. While the blaze about her did slowly settle down, leaving a simple glowing sphere around her, the flames themselves gathered down to her left hand, which promptly closed to a fist and caused the fire to spread out either side, forming into her fiery bow.

For a brief moment she took a chance to take in their positions before drawing from her quiver twin arrows that seemed to be tipped with the fangs of fallen viruses. Drawing them back, she set her sights upon the nightlights below before loosing the drawn bolts. The pair shot forth and split, each targeting a single candle below. Wasting no time, another arrow was quickly drawn and targeted upon one of the lights below, and with no hesitation, she released the odd, glass tipped bolt with that appeared to contain a liquid of some kind. While waiting however, she released the bow in a brilliant blaze and cupped her hands close together. Gather between her open palms, held facing one another, a collection of steam and swirling, condensed air quickly started to build up, planning to send a heated blast at either of the candles that might survive the assault thus far.

Meanwhile down below, Sephoinne kept herself carefully atop the large canine, while calling back up beyond the network itself. "Master, if you would please!" the request was simple enough, as a chip was promptly uploaded and transferred to the support program, which she quickly captured between crossed wings, which formed itself into a molten sphere of stone. Though no sooner had she gotten it, she'd flung the wings apart, and sent the burning stone sailing forward towards the stunned snake that had previously been caught off guard.

Artio on the other hand, was readying himself, as being the last real target for the serpent, let his linked data take form and spark his claws to a soft, golden glow. Though from there he hunched down, perked his ears tall and narrowed his eyes, planning to wait until the snake made its move before delivering twin strikes of electrical slashes.

The electric arrow smacked into one of the HauntedCandles bringing it a quick and painless deletion, while the second attacked with it's fire directly under where Lucia had stood, just seconds before blasting into the sky for an aerial advantage. Once in the air she fired off a fanged attack, one fang splitting off to crash into the ground, while the second pierced the remaining candle's digital heart. On the ground the LavaCannon that Sephoinne fired, just barly missed it's target. Not to worry though because directly after that, Artio connected with both of his slashes bringing down the stunned enemy.

With the viruses finally dealt with, Lucia let herself lower back to the ground in a cloud of sand scattering everywhere, much to her dismay as she coughed and waved her hand to try and scatter it away from her while making her way to join her support programs. "Ugh, please tell me we are finished here Master, all this sand and ick are making me want a bath again.. And they used fire attacks, on me! The nerve! Hmph!"

Despite the navi's pouting, Artio took the time to gather up their spoils and send the data to their operator, who it seemed was watching with slight amusement at the poor program's plight. "Well, you know what they say about sand... Regardless, I want you three to continue on. Just a bit further should cover what we came here for, and then you can be free of the desert and back to your bath while things are upgraded. Get going."

Lucia, who still wanted to pout, stuck out her tongue skywards towards the floating holoscreen where her Master was watching, only to huff out in annoyance after and turn to start walking across glass and sand once more, chiming a soft "Yes Master." as she went. Well, one of the trio seemed at least a little amused by her annoyance, then again only one of them really didn't have to walk in the sands as they traveled.

Tired and more than a little bit battered, the trio pushed on for just one more fight, while their operator carefully counted resources. Trudging through the heavy sand brought them to another odd sight in the desert after only a short way. Evening was falling over the dunes and the temperature was beginning to drop quickly, and as the first signs of stars began to peek out, a series a tall, thin structures came into view just ahead of them.

It was a series of five sculptures, each a representation of a skyward-shooting star. four were set out in a square, while a fifth, much taller, more solid-seeming statue stood a little further off, between them. The setting was not deserted, either. Flickering lights on the points of each sculpture showed a collection of Metrid viruses, their own staves glowing with fire light, moving in vaguely worshipful patterns amongst the sculptures. Two MagTects hovered in the centre, observing but not acting. A short way off ahead of them, another snake virus swam through the sands towards them, but when one of the Metrids caught sight of Lucia and her allies, a chatter went up from the viruses, who all turned to face the trio as one, staves and magnets raised.

SnakeArm viruses are among the fastest moving viruses in MMBN, and thus have 2 free Movements each turn. They move by burrowing underground at high speed, and only occasionally pop out of the ground to get their bearings. -=Battle 3, Start!=-

As the trio continued along their path through the scorching desert, they seemed to finally start to come upon more than just large pillars sticking from the ground, at least if the faint telltale signs of stairs had anything to show for it. Though as the little virus worshipers were chanting their murmurs, the little fire navi quickened her step slightly. Offering back to her companions a somewhat hushed, "Hang back a second..." While the same seemed to pass unheard by the others as she seemed to offer her own hushed prayer. Though whatever was said seemed to be lost to her companions as they simply exchanged looks of confusion before Artio slowed his approach to watch.
"I want to hurt them Master... They dared harm my family, I'll kill them... A bomb... A blast... Send them to me Master... Please.."

Regardless, the small navi stepped forward and put on a broad smile as her hand came up to offer a wave to the on-guard viruses ahead. "Well aren't ya'll smart! Praying to a god maybe? Hoping for a miracle? Maybe you're sending those chants to the wrong deity don't you think." With that Lucia brought her hands together, clasping them gently before her and offered a soft word or two, during which time a soft green light filled the navi, only to transfer beneath her into the burning sands. What followed after, as navi parted arms and spread them wide, was gentle touches of green that quickly darkened as it spread and grew. Cool, soft grass springing up in an ever growing area around the navi, quickly threatening to overgrow the field and statues, dotting here and there, colorful flowers would begin to bloom. Spreading purple and white, orange and yellow, transforming the once barren landscape into a calming oasis before the eyes of those around.

Her smile twitched slightly as her work seemed finished, nearly betraying the truth of her mood as she eyed the creatures before her. "There, you see! Perhaps you need something new to send your babblings and pleas too... But do be careful, because some out on the net, are far from kind. Some can be downright vengeful... Like me." As final words passed from the navi's lips, her perhaps once kind demeanor changed as the flames of her hair rose and began to flick and whip about like an unchecked fire. While above her right hand, an orb of solid steel appeared, promptly she grasped the orb tightly as she glared angrily at the viruses before her. "You..."

"You dare! You and your damned brothers in their lost thoughts of wonder for things far beyond them! They dared to harm my family!" Her words seemed to do little to calm her building anger as the sphere within her grasp started to glow a molten metal red, but still she'd not release it. Far from it in fact as her left hand started to gather flames of its own, as if draining in the very burning heat from the desert around, growing larger and large, then crushing down, folding into itself, condensing and expanding again and again, pulsing like a strange demonic heart.

"Do you really believe, if you worship some rocks in a desert, that some god will save you! The hell one will! You and your viral friends dared to attack my sister! My puppy! And worst of all, They had the nerve to call upon the fires of heaven to lash out at me! ME!! There's no forgiveness for your crimes.. I'll never forgive such a sin! You hear me! Gather yourselves before me! Cry out to whatever you think can save you! Then die!!"

Fiery heart in her left was grasped and crushed within her grip, trapping that burning rage that had been gathering all this time, only for her to stomp a foot forward into the grass, calling out of rage as the molten ball was finally loosed. Throwing in a sharp fastball pitch towards the center of the viral crowd, though, perhaps unseen, a second danger was lying in wait. As beneath the ball in its travel, a cracking scar chased the sphere like a jagged, burning bolt of lightning, disrupting grass, leaving nothing but charred, dead foliage in its wake.

Were the viruses on-guard, they'd no doubt expect the orb to be sailing towards one of them, but rather the molten ball slowed to a sudden stop, there just a foot or two above the grass within the ring of statues. It was faint at first, but quickly the results would be felt as it seemed to be spinning in place, gaining more and more momentum, and with it, the surroundings seemed to feel a tug. As if the very codes of the network were being rewritten, and all at once, it happened.

Gravity shifted, a distortion of heat and energy overloaded the baseline scripts and everything within a large area around the small object would suddenly feel a jolt as a powerful force tried to drag them all together as tightly packed around the sphere as physically possible.

But no the dangers were not just from the floating little planet the navi had thrown, because beneath the terrain, the carrier of her rage had followed. Forking apart into a large array with that orb acting as the epicenter, grass and sand alike charred and burned as it traced its design, until finally the two ends of this grand loop touched together and the navi's rage was finally let loose.

It would be hard to say, just what happened next, or rather what would happen first. As from below the grounds a raging inferno erupted in a pillar of unforgiving flame. Amplified by the once beautiful bounty Lucia had created in the harsh landscape, creating a deadly blaze that spared none unfortunate enough to be caught in its wake.

While at the same time, that small orb finally cracked under the great pressure it had been generating, and with it, all that built up velocity and force was finally set free. Resulting in a merciless blast of force and wind, threatening to scatter and launch anything within its range away with a force greater than what had drawn them in.

All the while the navi watched on, her eyes fixated on the destruction her own anger had wrought, and in that deafening blast, before a pillar of fire, Lucia smiled.

The group of would-be star worshippers set a light to a fuse that seemed like it had been building inside Lucia for some time now, and as her vocal admonitions and castigations got all of their attention, the collected Metrid viruses turned towards her and began lifting their staves in familiar gestures. Lucia, however, wasn't having any of that this particular evening in the desert. The two guarding MagTects each launched a Mag grapple towards her and her allies, but one seemed to miss its aim by a long margin, and the other collected not Lucia herself, but rather, the pulsing heart of energy she had sent towards it — it seemed they had similar plans, though with strikingly different intentions.

A moment later, the gravity well surged, and while both of the Magtect viruses, close already, seemed to hold their ground, the trio of worshippers slipped and skidded inwards to land in an ungainly heap all together between the pair of mechanical protectors. They didn't even really have time to pick themselves up as the grass beneath them blackened the ignited, erupting in a blast of fire that voraciously purged them.

The two Magtects once again shielded themselves from the fire, but as their guards lowered, the gravitational pull subsided. There was a moment of stillness before another crack burst and send both mechs flying hard away to either side, where they each crashed against one of the star pillars.

Another moment of crackling quiet stretched as the sudden fury subsided and the two battered viruses righted themselves. unseen, however, the distant snake virus had drawn close... dangerously close. There was a faint tremor in the ground just behind the trio.
