Soundman Volume 0

The air above Dentech Net was bright and clear, mildly chilly with zero clouds anywhere. The wallpaper was looking particularly vibrant today as well, lots of books flying about every which way and designating this as a place of learning, giving it the kind of vibe that shouted at you not to run in the halls.

Well, this wasn't running, at least.

What looked like a sharp-edged piece of metal hurtled through the air, end-over-end, as it careened down toward the paneling like a rogue meteor. As if to complete the effect, the metal object glowed and glimmered red from the heat of reentry, and cut through the digital air like a hot knife through butter.

With an earth-shaking explosion of force, the figure landed, metal boots planted firmly into two ankle-deep holes in the panel he had landed on. The figure pried one foot out of the hole, deliberately so as not to get stuck, and then the other, and instinctively struck a ready pose, gold and silver armor shining in the light before disappearing.

Regalia had arrived.

He smacked his fists together readily, and then walked off.
2-day bump.
Regalia, ready to get into a battle, set off into the Dentech network and came across shiny, metallic platforms far as the eyes can see...Wait, no, they were just normal panels waxed very nicely. Someone has been doing a great job with these.

However, there were a large strip of Magnet panels laid before Regalia while a handful of viruses stood across from it, mocking the navi as they...stood completely immobile!

-BATTLE ONE, START!-
Regalia looked silently out over the battlefield. He was vulnerable without his armor; he knew that. Knew it inherently. It was his strength, and his weakness. His pride, and his passion.

And, like all good things, it also came in a 'gradual payments' option. Regalia raised his hands high above his head, as if to grasp something, and then lowered them down, dragging his signature Helmet along with them. The silver shined in the light; the gold glimmered and tinted the rest of it a light shade of orange from the glare. The crest on the forehead popped up as Regalia slid it into place upon his head; the jaw-strap locked itself on when he let go. And when he signaled his readiness to Thomas, the visor slid down to cover his vision, completing the look.

...It actually looked kind of ridiculous without the rest of his armor, but Regalia would just have to live with that for now.

"Alright Regalia, I'm sending you a couple of chips. You should know what to do with these two, right?" Thomas' voice filtered in over the line, a pair of clicks echoing through shortly afterward. Regalia nodded his approval. The aged navi held his hands in front of him, palm-to-palm, just the slightest distance between them, and watched as a small ball of fire began to form between the two, swirling and rippling around, waiting to be unleashed.

Regalia then winked out of existence, and winked back into place dead-center of the group of viruses, a barrier shimmering around him as he smacked his palms together. The fireball compacted between them like a candle snuffed out, and there was the briefest of pauses where it seemed as though Regalia had just shorted out his own chip attack-- before his hands were sent flying backward along with the navi himself, who turned the nearly-failed attack into a dodging roll, away from the viruses and toward the Magnet panels.

All that remained was to see what he had hit.

1: HELMET (20 HP EQUIPPED LIGHT Object with Passive 20 HP barrier; 3 TCD)
FREE: Masterwork - Add 32 HP to HELMET, total = 52
2: Areagrab to center of viruses (Or best cluster for Burner if they're too far apart for that; you didn't specify distances)
3: Burner (130 FIRE in a Nova2 around Regalia)
4: Dodge roll onto the Magnet strip
>Regalia: Be Elec Elemental.
Summoning up his helmet and looking kind of silly, Regalia started off the battle with a bang, blinking into the middle of the viruses and causing a massive eruption directly centered on his body. Unfortunately, his calculation was slightly off, and he missed a Gunner turret, which wasn't afraid to let off a rain of bullets in his direction. Fortunately, his impromptu roll managed to let him off the bulk of the damage, and the barrier generated by his helmet warded off the rest.

"One lived? Cheee, that's always irritating. Finish him with this, Regalia!" Thomas chattered excitedly, thrashing around a little as he slotted in a chip. The word "Icewave" appeared on the PET's screen.

Meanwhile, Regalia returned to a standing pose from his crouch at the end of his roll, and hit his chest with both hands at once-- producing a resounding cland as his Breastplate and its' accoutrements phased into view. The gold Helmet emblazoned on the front of the chestpiece itself shimmered with the reflections given off by everything nearby, while Regalia's elbows were swiftly covered by the pads that accompanied it. Regalia's shoulders and upper arms also became encased by the armor, a pair of shoulderpads and a tube of solid metal covering all holes.

...Of course, since he still had bare hands, legs, and feet, he continued to look ridiculous.

Just slightly less so.

The barrier thrummed back to life as Regalia held up a yet-unclad hand, a small wave of ice hovering in the air in front of it. He clenched his fist; he looked at the virus across from him, and his visor displayed the calculations for force, trajectory, and speed. After assuring everything was in order, Regalia punched the small block of ice and it exploded outward, shooting across the field as a wave.

Of ice.

You know, an Icewa- oh forget it.

YES, AN ICEWAVE. Frozen turrets are quite low in the hostility department. It's all very uninteresting and not worth talking about. The zenny that erupted everywhere was, though. That was amusing, at least.

"There we go. Hate it when the last one decides to be pesky." Thomas nodded, crossing his arms. "Right, well, go get some more, Regalia! I need some money for my date with Amelia tonight!"

If Regalia thought that was a little ridiculous, he didn't say it.

He did, however, stare up at Thomas through the PET screen for a while before he trodded off.

[Battle 2]
Further walking into the Dentech area led Regalia to a rather nice-looking botanic display, where some beautiful arrangements of exotic-looking plants and flowers were put around for people to look at. The centerpiece of the display was a rare and enormous Electopian Whiplash Lily. The walkway around the area had some visitors, too; a trio of Metools skipped around the area, happily chanting whatever viruses chanted for fun. Probably some virus nursery rhymes or something.

However, as they spotted Regalia approaching, they were spooked away, and fled the area. In their place, a few Mushrooms and BombCorns, which had been masquerading among the displays, popped out to challenge the armor-wearing Navi!

"Is it just me, Regalia, or do they keep making it really tempting to just Burner everything? I'm starting to see why Trenn was reluctant to part with this one chip in particular." Thomas said, flicking the chip around between his middle and index finger before summarily dropping it. "Oh, shit--" The viewscreen in front of Regalia tumbled in viewpoint as Thomas fumbled for the PET and chip, and Regalia closed it, shaking his head and rushing in.

His feet plodded along the glass beneath him, uncovered, as he ran full-tilt at the viruses in the display before him. As he neared the display, he leapt high into the air, flipping forward, end-over-end towards one of the Mushy viruses--

"Found it!" Regalia heard from somewhere far off on the other end. He flipped one final time in midair and then brought his head forward--

CLANG!

--and the sound of his helmet colliding with something filled the air, the aerial headbutt complete. Fire burst outward from the point where his head impacted with his target as the visor slid down over his eyes, and the conflagration consumed everything around him, grass and virus alike.

Regalia stomped his foot down with an air of finality, the silver boot clinging to it, and looked around for the survivors. How many had he missed...?

Regalia ran full-tilt into the viruses, ready to give them a bit of a whacking. Thomas stumbled around with the chip insertion, until at the last minute, an explosive headbump roasted a trio of Mushrooms with ease. However, the BombCorns managed to leap out of the way, and shoot some corn at him. Fortunately, the shots didn't hit, and bounced off somewhere into the distance. Corny.

"Oh, you got that flower too." Thomas said, scratching his chin. "Oh well, it's probably nothing, right?" There was a pause as Thomas climbed back up into his chair; Regalia shot him a quizzical look. "...Yeah, it's... it's definitely nothing." Thomas coughed.

"Anyway, there's only two of them left, right? How about this?" He held up a Firehit chip for Regalia to see, and then clicked it in without waiting for him to accept. The armored navi turned towards the two BombCorns, flames blazing in his eyes, and nodded silently.

His hand came up once, in a mock-uppercut. Nothing happened.
Then his other hand rose similarly, with a bit of a flair. Small sparks crackled around his forearm.

"Shoryu--"

There was a loud click as Regalia's Gauntlets popped into existence, followed by several smaller ones as the armor pieces covering his fingers expanded outward into full form. Regalia reeled his hands back behind him, arms curving as he dropped into a crouch--

"-REPPA!" Thomas finished. Regalia leapt into the air, both hands enshrouded by flames, and two larger streaks of fire burst from the ground in front of the BombCorns, incinerating more grass.

A double-uppercut, as it was.

So yeah, burn everything that moves. Including some collateral of immobile things, which include a certain rare flower. However, as Regalia went to survey the results of his immolation, he heard a piercing yell from behind him. A flower-patterned pink Normal Navigator, currently holding some flowers, gawked at Regalia as he looked.

"Y-YOUUUUU, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" said the Navi, dropping the flowers he was holding. Dumbstruck for a moment, the Navi stood there for a while, and then ran back where he came from. "PROFESSOR, PROFESSOOOOOOOR!" called the Navi, running with all the strength he could muster.

... Probably a good time to leave.

[CornShot1] Battlechip, 500z
Regalia and Thomas looked at each other through the screen for a brief moment, each confirming the other's thoughts-- and then Regalia sprinted off before the navi decided to come back, a cape made of LIGHTNING sprouting from his shoulders and wrapping around his neck like a cowl.

[Battle 3]
Running away as fast as he could from the crime scene, Regalia found himself in a small area that was lined with a multitude of circuit lines, radiating outwards from a central area. The circuitry on the floor seemed to be heavily magnetized as well as raised slightly by a few inches. Being of an electrical affinity, he had no problem traversing the area. In the middle of the circuit lines, a lone terminal stood. Its screen glowed a beautiful green, displaying a rotating diamond of some sort.

Of course, what would such a display be without some viruses for attraction? Regalia soon found a squadron of viruses around him, presenting a neat sixty degrees of separation between each other. Seems they were going to charge him all at once or something.

Regalia eyed the gathered viruses carefully. Fishy were easy enough; they had predictable charge patterns he could exploit. Armadills though... He hadn't faced those.

Deciding to play it safe, Regalia slammed his fists together, where they resounded with a loud, ear-piercing CLANG, reverberating up his body and all throughout him. Thomas pinged him over a couple of chips-- but he shook his head. They'd have to wait.

Noticing the way his navi was standing stock still with his fists bumped together, Thomas hedged a worried "Regalia?" over the line. Regalia continued to stand still, but subtly-- oh so subtly-- shook his head. The old knight was up to something...

Three different angles.

That was the one thing he hadn't accounted for, at least at first, but that came to him a second later as the first bright green Fishy virus whipped through the air towards him. Regalia waited for the right moment. 10 panels. 6 panels. 4 panels. 2 panels...!

With a bright flash and the clatter of lots of metal pieces banging together all at once, Regalia's armor-- and his shield-- popped into view. He raised his right arm in front of him, shield-clad, to block, and the satisfying crunch of his shield impacting brought a small smile to his lips. Less than a second later, his off-hand was working, moving with the first chip Thomas had sent him. The armor plating on the tips of Regalia's fingers stretched and bent with a creeping groan, growing longer and longer into a set of five pointed talons.

Regalia turned with the motion of the Rageclaw as he swept his left hand around him in a circle, first sweeping through the flight path of the first Fishy, trying to pluck it out of the air--

--And then into the flightpath of the second, in a gambit to fling it at its' compatriot.

With that, Regalia's cape stiffened behind him, separating into the 6 bolts that made it, and then shot through his armor, arcing and crackling to launch from his fingertips towards one of the Fishy.

X: SHIELD! (Get 1-hit shield from gauntlets)
X: Try to block Fishy A with it.
4: Rageclaw (20 + Impact) - Swipe Fishy B out of the air and swing it at Fishy C

((Edit: Derp, broken summary tag))
Using the feint to get the Fishy to charge, Regalia turned the tables on the Fishy as he blocked one of the Fishy's charges, and flung another at the last one, canceling out its attack. An electrical bolt flew from his cape as well, zapping the Fishy to deal a little bit more damage.

As the shield rusted and broke off in his left hand, Regalia tossed it into the air, flipping it end-over-end, and then caught the newly formed musket with his right. The armored knight quickly took aim with his new weapon, the barrel crackling with electricity, and fired it at the two Fishy viruses he had harassed earlier. The powder-launched flechettes of metal whizzed through the air toward them, and then split-- and split again. Half of the pellets weren't even aimed at the first Fishy, instead flying wide-- before arcing with a deadly streak of electricity, creating a thick net of lightning to try and snag the second Fishy.

The weapon disappeared from Regalia's grip, truly gone this time, and so he instead reached for his waist--

Thomas was quick to pick up on the trigger; his fingers thumbed a particular chip, set aside, and slammed it into the chip slot. "Regalia...!" He intoned, voice excited.

Regalia's hand came back with a broad-tipped blade, which he swung forward in a horizontal arc, hurling it at the third Fishy with a sideways spin. As the Widesword cleaved through the space between himself and the Fishy, Regalia realized that even that would not kill the virus. He opted to rectify this as Thomas slotted in another three chips, these ones more frenetic and seemingly-random. He mentally sorted out the pile, and in a snap, decided on a chip. Regalia flung his right hand back, fingers splayed outward, and a solid ring of crackling yellow formed at his fingertips. A flick of his wrist sent the ring chasing both the Widesword and the Fishy before it, and a touch of Regalia's own power sent it thundering with further force.

That done, Regalia's eyes flicked over the rest of the viruses, watching for any incoming attacks-- his re-shielded arm stood ready, regardless.
