Viral Tendencies

GigaMan happily collected the zenny and sent them to Julius. "Make sure this goes to the fund to make me stronger human. We have a long way to go before we are truly powerful." He relaxed in the soothing warm waters of the onsen for just a moment, before finally moving forward, looking for another contest of strength.

((Requesting battle 2))
After having restored some of his energy in the warm waters, GigaMan moved forward through the area in search of more adversaries to spar against and bolster his strength. His ventures brought him into an area that seemed to be the source of the large hot water pool he was in earlier--an active volcanic sloping field of hot coals, with a few springs creating small reservoirs of hot water that trickled down to where he was coming from. His travels were interrupted by what appeared to be a lone Spooky virus, floating in the middle of the narrow bridge. Upon closer inspection, however, there seemed to be a mole-like Rush virus directly behind it, which seemed to be rather spooked by GigaMan's appearance and would rather be leaving at the closest possible opportunity.

When he came into sight range of the Spooky, it emitted a shrill laugh, which seemed to be the cue for more viruses to come out of hiding. Specifically, from the few pools of water that dotted the area. One Piranha virus peeked out of a pool to his left, and he was able to see a small periscope rise up from one to his right. Some of them preferred to be more noticeable in their entry, as was the case with a Shrimpy and Cloudy that burst out of the water from a pool behind him.

-- Viruses --
PiranhaPiranha (Piranha)

Piranha viruses work as a hive-mind. They all move at the same time, attempt to detect targets at the same time, and once a targets is detected by any of them, they all attack that one target at the same time. Moving and searching for targets takes one action. Attacking takes another. Any Piranha just recovering from a status effect that prevents normal operation will resume acting in unison with the rest of the group.

-- Battle 2 Ready? Start!! --
The first chip that was sent this time, seemed to only sharpen GigaMan's claws as he starred into the eyes of the ghoulish enemy in front of him. He wasn't a fool, Spooky viruses had been around as long as he had, so in hopes of deleting the ghost before he could pester him further, GigaMan raised his left claw, fully outstretching his arm. Then he swiftly brought the weapon down, trying to slice right through the Spooky. Then he transitioned into the second chip he had been sent.

In familiar fashion, the Navi held both palms outstretched in front of him. He slightly turned his left shoulder backwards, then twisted the arm behind him before nonchalantly firing a fang like projectile from the cannon in his palm, without looking. A golden light trailed this first fang like smoke from a rocket, as it chased down the Cloudy that had made it's presence known. Simultaneously from his right hand, he fired off the other fang. This one blitzed its way towards the Piranha who had poked his head up on from the left side. After both attacks were finished, Giga used a short dash to carry him forward, further up the bridge weary of the viruses who might harm him from each direction.

Summary

Passive: [High Focus] - [Passive Take Aim] at RageClaw1
1. RageClaw1Damage: 40 + Slashing (Attack) OR 20 + Impacting (Throw)
Accuracy: B / B then B
Description: Creates an impressive bear claw. Can be used to slash or throw enemies or objects.
Duration: Until Overridden/Broken. Breaks automatically after 6 uses.
Element: Null
Special: Throw: The wielder must first grab the target to be thrown, then the target is thrown in the direction/area indicated. A second check is made if against another object/enemy. Throw deals damage to both thrown object/enemy and the second object/enemy. Damage occurs at point of collision with the ground/wall/ceiling/etc. or an object/enemy, not during initial grab attempt. Objects deal their max HP in damage (instead of the chip's damage) if they hit an object/enemy, then break. If they miss, the object just takes the chip's damage. This chip has a variety of uses.

3. Dodge
The Spooky's cackle cut off suddenly as GigaMan attacked, but but it was only to flicker backwards, to the far end of the bridge from him, while his claws slammed into the wood work and threw splinters. The ghost began giggling to itself again, glancing around at its allies as the Rush behind it began to flee the scene.

Of course, the easiest way to ensure that the irritating ghost didn't heal up any of its companions during the fight was to eliminate his foes with a single precise shot each time, and GigaMan lined up carefully to attempt just that. The Piranha paused in its motions to look up from the pool and lock its sights onto the navi, beginning to open its mouth — only to receive the first fang of GigaMan's attack directly between its lips; it fell back in the water destroyed. the second fang, in the other direction, nailed into the cloud virus before it could really get any kind of storm cloud going, and the second virus dispersed in mere moments.

As GigaMan took these shots, the periscope of the Marina virus fixed on him as well, and it surfaced enough to launch a slowly spiralling attack bubble in his direction, containing an anchor weight that looked far too heavy for such a flimsy bubble to contain. the helix drift rose up and curved towards GigaMan on the bridge, but he managed to move himself out of its path, despite its deceptive accuracy. the bubble continued to float on past him. Less easy to avoid, the Shrimpy virus had another bubble stream ready to take revenge for the recently destroyed cloudy it had surfaced with. this burst of bubbles scored past him, popping with annoying stings against his body as well as shattering a portion of the wooden walkway behind him.

It was at this point, that a shrill whistle cut through the volcanic steam, coming from slightly further off. Just behind the spooky, a small figure, maybe three foot tall at most, darted into view through the fog, and skidded to a halt near the rush virus, who also came to an abrupt stop to avoid crashing into the new arrival. It looked like a rabbit, mostly, or a navi intended to resemble one, at least. She had white fur and the same highly identifiable long ears, dressed up in a blue denim short jacket, fastened at the front, and a matching loose denim skirt. she also had a wicker basket over one arm as she looked up to meet gigaMan's attention.

"With you in a moment! Sorry I'm late!" She waved with her free hand, then turned to shake it in an admonishing finger at the Rush virus.

"You know you shouldn't be here. You've been warned about this, you know. It's not fair on the others. Now hurry up, go on, get out of here, and I won't tell anyone." The scolding was curbed by a wink and a grin, then a quick patted ruffle on the top of its head. the rush sheepishly stepped past her, then began to run once more as the diminutive bunny girl dashed up past the Spooky virus without seeming to pay it any heed and stopped next to gigaMan.

"Right, sorry. In a bit of a rush. That kind of season, isn't it? Anyway... not sure you deserve this, but routes are routes, so enjoy, ok?" She grinned again then winked up at the other navi as she pulled a small green crystal from a collection of many others in her basket. As she flicked it onto the bridge behind GigaMan, it expanded into a full-sized mystery data, which she then poked with her finger. a brief ripple passed over the surface, with a sound like cracking glass, before the data crystal took on a slightly translucent appearance.

"There you go, all safe. And hey, happy easter!" She turned to look at the scene for a moment, seeming to forget her previous haste; the back of her jacket bore a tiny pair of stylised red wings, picked out in thread, and there looked to be a number of small ornaments tied into her hair at the back, including a large red ball of fuzz that dangled down on a ribbon.

"Say, mind if I sit and watch the rest of this one? I could use a breather..." Without waiting for an answer, she hopped up on the railing, crossing one leg over the other and sat back to spectate.

"Don't you dare attack her..." Julius peered down at the PET, as if he was sensing the viral aggression that steamed from GigaMan's whole personality. "She seemed to have given us a gift. Accept it and finish the fight."

GigaMan really did not take kindly to his operator's tone. "Who the hell do you think you are to talk to me in such a manner HUMAN!"

"I am Julius Ramon, and I AM YOUR OPERATOR. You chose us, now you will listen to me, or I will jack your ass out, and leave you in the PET until I find away to remove you from my Navi." Julius' new attitude was out the blue, and it seemed he was finally taking a stand towards the rude tendencies of the ancient virus.

GigaMan was baffled... and speechless. The human's sudden growth of a backbone caught him off guard, and left him staring into nothingness. His vision unblurred and focused on each virus one by one, followed by the mysterious new comer. Then to the GMD at his side. Without so much as a thanks he placed a hand on the data and tapped into it's holdings, to ensure nothing happened to it during the battle. "Sure, sit back and get a taste of my power. A future ruler of the Net!" GigaMan roared, then jumped forward again hoping to succesfully dodge another attack.

After the quick movement forward, he held his right palm towards an enemy once more. This time it faced the elusive ghost who had managed to avoid his clutches earlier. A feint clicking sound could be heard, as if a weapon had been pumped, then 'BOOM!" The Navi fired of a quick percise burst of energy in the from of a Shotgun blast, the attack sped towards the Spooky challenging the viruses luck for a second time.

After a brief disagreement with his operator's unexpectedly firm stance on harming other navis, GigaMan saved face and roared on with his attacks, blasting the spooky virus off the net before it could react. On the railing behind him, Prose kicked her heels and clapped her hands together with a broad grin. The remaining two viruses kept up their own assault; the Marina launched another spiral attack which drifted harmlessly past GigaMan, while the Shrimpy scuttled forward to take a place on the back of the bridge and blasted a stream of bubbles forward. GigaMan was easily able to dodge them, however, while Prose leaned back on the rail, holding on whit one hand between her knees with a giggle while the bubbles passed by.

The mystery data decrypted itself after he accessed it, though the data hung in waiting, unable to process while combat was engaged, though from what he could see, this one was a chip of some type. Somewhere along the way, the Rush fled the scene and disappeared from sight, but no-one seemed to be paying attention to it anyway.

GigaMan spun around gaining access to another battlechip. The tip of a harpoon spear could be seen protruding from the Navi's right palm. He raised his hand, keeping the Shrimpy in his sights. "Pffft" was the subtle sound of the first spear as it whizzed through the air, and made its way across the long bridge "Pfftff." The second spear followed the path of its predecessor. Back to backs both projectiles sought to impale, and create an uncooked Shrimpy-Kabob.

GigaMab hopes to have brought the enemy numbers down to one, but even if not, he took evasive action. Leaping as far to the front right as he could, so that he could eye the Marina virus below. An EnergyBomb formed and glowed from the same hand he had fired his arrows. It only took a moment, but he gazed down quickly to better jusge the distance between he and the submarine like enemy. Without notice, he lobbed the explosive ball of energy towards the Marina.

Two to go, and GigaMan was efficient in his clean up. two needles pinned the Shrimpy virus before it could launch another bubble assault, and though the Marina made another attempt with its curling attack, the navi stepped aside before lobbing a bomb back at it with far better aim. The cluster detonated just as it reached the submersible virus and left only wreckage in the onsen pool.

This left GigaMan victorious, and as well as his spoils from the viruses, he previously accessed data crystal also released its reward to his eager hands. Somewhere along the way, possibly while his back was turned, the small bunny-woman seemed to have slipped away, though if Joseph had been watching, he might have seen he jump up on the railing then skip backwards, diving into one of the other onsen pools with a very small splash and a last giggle, before her signature had disappeared from the area completely.

"One more battle, and I'll have enough for the bounty then in." GigaMan looked around, and to his surprise the mysterious gift giver had vanished. He shrugged, and didn't waste anytime sending the rewards to Julius, before moving on, in search of another battle.

((Requesting battle 3))
With the odd visitor having moved on and his spoils collected, GigaMan was quick to push on in search of new targets to crush. The walkway went n for a short while uninterrupted, weaving between various hot springs as it gradually curled away from the coast side, but before too much further, he came upon a spot where the path seemed to be washed out by a very broad pool of cool water, blocked off from the various other onsen springs by a collection of crudely stacks rocky barricades. The impromptu dams had created a flooded section that took up where the path ought to have been, and it had become home for a trio of Piranhas that circled endlessly.

The other pools nearby, still spring fed on their own, seemed to have a group of other viruses relaxing in them as well, though they were beginning to perk up and pay attention as GigaMan arrived at the obstructed pathway. They numbered a pair of Heavy viruses, in the nearby side pools, another shrimp a little further back to his left, and further off behind the flooded section, a cloudy virus drifting on its own. Also of not, a green glow from one of the other back pools, tell-tale sign of another data crystal.

-=Battle 3, Start!=-

A golden barrier formed around GigaMan's body as he made moves to delete this new set of enemies. He read the layout of the battlefield, and felt it was best to stay mostly in the area he was in. Julius sent him the usual first chip to start their offense off. As much as he'd hate to admit it, there was a slight chemistry being formed between their tactics atleast.

With both arms outstretched facing outwards, palms facing forward the possessed Navi fired off two fang like projectiles. The first one glowed with a golden light as it streaked through the sky, falling towards one of the dumbbell viruses. The second fang veered in an altered direction, this one chasing down the Piranha that was in the back of the pool.

GigaMan jumped to the left just a bit. He knew to be on the look out for rain clouds, arrows, bubbles, and teleporting shake weights. Just knowing what was coming however wouldn't help him avoid them.

3. Dodge
The assessment didn't take long, and GigaMan raised his defence then prepared to attack. His swiftness was mostly matched by the more aggressive targets in the area, however, as the trio of piranha all looking in his direction and began to target him with their sights — barrier or not, he was keenly marked by the three. Just as quickly, the Shrimpy virus edged forward to the side of its back pool and blasted a stream of bubbles towards him, though GigaMan moved aside while he launched his offence.

Both fangs found their marks in satisfactory fashion, though the remaining two piranhas seemed unfazed as they continued to ready projectiles even as one of their numbers was destroyed. As one heavy was pierced as well, the other gave off a low, irritated groan and promptly warped to side-swipe the intruding navi from the opposite direction. The shift was a little too unpredictable for GigaMan to avoid this time, though his barrier absorbed the damage, just barely. Further back, the Cloudy virus summoned a rain cloud that began to meander its way across the field towards him, though it was slow-moving and lazy in its travel. it didn't bother him this round, though it seemed to have a decent amount of stamina in it, pouring rain as it went.

A very sharp spear tip protruded from GigaMan's right palm. He scanned his enemies and could feel the threat level from one of the Pirahna viruses rising. So he lined up his shot and unleashed two powerful spears. The first one glowed with the familiar golden light of his buffed attacks, while the second one trailed plainly behind it. He hopped backwards hopingn to avoid incoming attacks from his many remaining opponents.

"Here use this, throw it at the Shrimpy, they seem to be a little more durable then most of our friends here." Julius called out as he slotted in one of their EnergyBomb chips.

"Fine." GigaMan didn't waste time, as soon as he finished his evasive action the chip had been slotted in. So upon activation he raised his arm and lobbed the explosive towards the crustacean. He hoped to drop the bomb right on the virus in hopes of finishing it off but, as long as he didn't miss by a long shot there would no doubt be some type of damage.

It wasn't exactly a friendly working relationship, but it was at least sounding slightly less hostile than when they first started working together. GigaMan used the chips he was sent to augment his abilities and swiftly punctured one piranha before either of them could fire at him. The other released its trident regardless of its ally being destroyed, but despite the narrow clustering of the darts, only one of the three struck GigaMan, and that one didn't manage to get through his barrier.

A moment later the Heavy warped a second time and swung past him, but GigMan was able to dart back, avoiding the massive weight as it flew past. His retaliation was aimed at another virus, attempting to blast the Shrimpy before it could attack him again. Two of the three cluster bombs struck it, but it wasn't quite enough to destroy the sturdy little shrimp and it shot back a bubble stream in his direction. This one connected, but all it managed to do was strip off the faltering remains of his barrier, and couldn't do him any harm beyond that.

Somewhere else, barely related to the fight, the cloudy drifted back and forth in contentment while its rain cloud continued to circle and pour rain on the spring, and the pool, and everything else except anything that mattered. The localised storm petered out after a few moments and the Cloudy looked at where it had faded with a small frown.

Working together and resenting it, GigaMan and his operator acted quickly in their efforts to clean up the remaining viruses before they could attack any further. The Shrimpy was just scuttling around to make another shot as Giga's blast launched out, engulfing the small virus and scorching the nearby heavy as well. The latter virus groaned and rolled over once, while the Shrimpy gave no more sound at all.

The last piranha tried to track with GigaMan, beginning to line up another shot. It got a bead on him easily enough, but only because GigaMan himself had stilled briefly, before crossing the distance between them in a rush that caught the virus off guard and crushed it soundly. As Giga's dash ended, he managed to duck away from another teleporting swing from the now-battered heavy. Two down, two left; the Cloudy was rumbling now, getting ready to brew a new rain storm.

Heavy viruses move slowly, and only dodge when they attack. When a Heavy attacks, it teleports to a position to the left or right of the intended target, and proceeds to try to ram the target with a quick sideways motion. "RageClaw now." GigaMan commanded.

"I was gonna send the..."

"I said RageClaw." The Navi repeated this time louder. Julius responded in tact by slotting in the requested chip. His claws glimmered in the light, and looked a little bit sharper then normal. The usual feint gold light that happened when he buffed an attack coated the blades like paint. He ignored any signs of defense and rushed the Heavy and tried to finish it off with a vicious slash.

Having deleted the Dumbell or not, the light vanished from the claws as He charged towards the cloudy. Once in range he attacked with two speedy slashing attacks. One from left to right with his left claw and the other he pulled his right claw back and attempted to run the Cloudy through bringing an hopeful end to the battle.

In the interests of finishing the battle quickly, before his remaining foes could try again, GigaMan moved swiftly to dispatch the Heavy virus firs,t raking it with an empowered strike and deleting it before it could try for another pass at him. The cloudy, meanwhile, began to rain again, sending another waving path of rain out towards him, but it passed wide of him the first time, and GigaMan wasn't about to let it try again.; his two swift follow-up slashes ended the battle and left the stormy cloud to evaporate again moments later.

GigaMan brought a speedy end to the battle. He straightened his posture and and flung his claws outward getting rid of the RageClaw1 data, till the chip was slotted in again. He feel to a knee as if exhaustion over took him for a moment.

"What's going on GigaMan...?"

No response came as the Navi hurried his head into one of his palms. He stayed in this posture for minutes as Julius pleaded for a response, when finally he stood to his feet and shook off whatever had come over him. "I'm fine. Do not look so worried human. I told you, I am in control of this body and no harm will come to it. He walked to the GMD, activated an untrap and proxesssd the data.

After a brief episode of dubious control, GigaMan resumed his quest for power, this time in the form of accessing juicy data crystals. This particular one unpacked itself and delivered a packet of chip data for him.
