The frosty lion and the mighty warrior!

"A neat little hammer chip. Let's see if we can get some use out of it." Frio smiled, and sent the data to Layla.

"Thanks guys! More chips, more money, lets get more." She giggled. "I have a little time left before I should head home, what do you say we find one more battle before we call it a day?" The question was directed at Gary.

Before WarriorMan could speak up, the lion navi gave his own answer for the group, "That works for us. Let's go find some more fun."

((Requesting battle 4))
"...SnakeEgg? Yeesh, I'm surprised they still make these." Alleged rarity aside, WarriorMan shrugged as he transferred over the data. "I guess it's something, at least."

"Oh hey, that's pretty strong! But, uh, you really don't seem very excited about it, huh?"

"Maybe it's gotten better in 30 years, but in my day, you couldn't count on it. Plus, it's not exactly the kind of chip I specialize in."

"Yeah, you really don't seem like a snake person..." Well, obviously knights weren't very big into snakes. Maybe if it was a horse or something. Wait, the lady was talking, stop thinking and listen! "Well, I'm all for another battle with you! How about it, WarriorMan?"

Before the swordsman could respond, the other Navi was already raring to go. He let out another shrug as he sighed, though this time he bothered to move his arms defeatedly. "Do I even have a choice right now? Granted, why should I ever turn down a chance to hone my skills?" Both of those were rhetorical of course. "Come on, Lion Boy. Not like we've cleared out the whole area or anything...huh?" Hang on a sec. Without warning, he started to dig through the nearby junk pile with his hands.

"Uh, are you all right, WarriorMan?"

"I sense something in here. It's very faint, but...it's there." Just a little further...there. He pulled out an odd chunk, about the size of an plum. It was mostly spherical, though with small protrusions here and there, and was dark green in color. WarriorMan examined it, but after a moment, gave a confused frown. "I can feel something from it. Something...old. Even to me."

"Wow, it must really be from the early days of the net, then. So, uh...what is it, exactly?"

"I can't tell just from looking at it. I don't think I could analyze it, even if I wanted to. The coding is...well, ancient. It uses a programming language I've never seen."

"I think we oughta show it to Dad, then. Decoding's his specialty, after all."

"For once, you're talking sense. I'll transfer it to the PET, though...can't afford having it broken before we get a chance to find out what it is." And...poof. Weird data ball transferred. "There was one other thing about it, though. I couldn't place it at first, but that piece of junk was making me feel something."

"It was? How would junk make you feel anything?"

"I don't know. But I could feel it inside me...dread. Foreboding."

"I didn't even you were capable of feeling those things, honestly...to make someone like you feel like that...it's no random garbage, that's for sure."

"Yeah. If turns out to be something dangerous, your father can at least make sure SciLab contains it...then again, why would SciLab throw out something like that, anyway?" Bah. Asking questions no one could answer wasn't getting them anywhere. "Until your father analyzes it, there's no point in dwelling on it." Motioning to his busting partner to follow, WarriorMan started to run off, in pursuit of something to take his mind off the mystery he'd uncovered.

(Searching for Battle #4)
((+1 FXP))

After a brief exchange of words, the two busting partners took some extra time to sort out their own affairs and interests before moving on together in search of more things to practice their abilities on. The path they were on seemed to follow at least something of a trail through the high-tech landscape, but it wasn't long before they happened upon another group of viruses that seemed to be obstructing some kind of raised solar expanse that probably had a purpose outside of being a viral playground.

Visible on the upper section ahead of them, directly on the solar panels, another Boomer virus was already turning to face them after catching its boomerang from an idle throw. A typhoon was opposite it, and further back, roving about on the solar as well, a small beetank was making figure eights. More curious, in between the boomer and the typhoon, near the front edge of the raised solar panels, a large stone cube virus appeared to have a gunner affixed to its top.

Directly below it, on the ground level, a second cube and gunner looked to be in the same arrangement, along with a swordy, on the left, and protected after a fashion by an intimidating ElecOgre directly in front of it, between the cub and the two navis. As the duo were getting a look at this scene, a pinging sound from either side of them gave herald to a pair of PulseBulbs, rushing in suddenly from the sides and flanking Frio and WarriorMan with great speed. While the other viruses had only appeared to be mildly interested and only possibly hostile before, the arrival of the beeping PulseBulbs seemed to shake the all up into a far more aggressive stance.

-=Battle 4, Start!=-

Frio's body began to grow cold, and covered with frost as the devious duo approached their new competition. "Looks like that didn't take long huh. One... two... blah... blah.. Eleven." Frio counted the new enemies. The thin layer of ic finished covering the lions body as he prepared for his offensive. "I'll start is off this time!" He turned to the virus on his left, raised his first high behind his head, and jabbed forward in a speedy but wild manner. Half way between his swing and the target, his trademarked icicle swallowed his fist, as it flew towards the metal covered Pulsebulb, in a fashion similar to a flying dart flying towards the the bullseye on a dart-board. Would the frozen punch meet its target? Without fail, the attack would break the viruses armor and leave them with less enemies to deal with.

Upon finishing that attack, he would need to take evasive maneuvers hoping to avoid as many attacks that came his way as possible. The amount of enemies ensured a volly of attacks would be headed their way. "Show me something cool WarriorGuy."

An Icicle covers his closed fist as he punches at an enemy that will cause freeze effects on ice and snow terrain, and will change sea to ice, and freeze things underwater.
3. Dodge.

[Ice Body] - 1 TCD
[Icicle Punch] - 2 TCD
[Requested autododge mod.]

Surrounding himself in an icy casing, Frio got to work as he rushed in towards the PulseBulb and swung his icy fist at the machine. Unfortunately, the strange alien machine-like virus was faster, and caught him off guard as it first dashed in towards him, and blasted him in the face with a sonic screech, causing his own attack to fall slightly short. Meanwhile, the Typhoon virus whined to life, before ejecting him far away from the battle with a burst of highly pressurized air. The DBLCUBE duo began lighting up, and fired twin bursts of laser fire at both of them. WarriorMan managed to avoid the attack, but Frio wasn't quite as lucky and sustained damage that destroyed his protective casing, as well as dealing him a slight bit of damage. (-20)

With Frio now rather far away from the battle, the viruses began to focus more on WarriorMan, as one plucky Swordy warped up to him and slashed at the knight. His evasive actions still held strong, however, as the PulseBulb also joined in with a sonic blast, which he also avoided. The onslaught of attacks continued, however, as he was unable to keep up his evasion for very long, sustaining some minor bullet wounds from the Gunners (-5x3), as well as a stray boomerang from the Boomer (-5). One stray bomb from the Beetank sailed above his head, while the ElecOgre in the background lowered its head, and began charging its attack.

Things were looking rather bleak for the dynamic duo, if they didn't do anything about it soon...

"Frio, we need to go." Layla's voice squeaked through the PET's speaker.

"But Lay.... WarriorMan needs our help." As he said that his body seemed to glow with a slither of white light signaling that the ability WarriorMan's companion from earlier had spoken of must have been been achieved.

"No buts! We need to go!" A fearful yell came from the now panicking operator.

With that command, Frio turned away from the his companion... "Im sorry my friend... Hope we can play together again one day." Upon saying that Frio dashed off away from the battle as fast as he could. If he managed to get away then he would Immediately be jacked out by Layla.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary
1. ESCAPE
2. FLEE
3. RUN

After the succesfull Flee mod, Layla hit the Navi shop, then headed home.
Urged on by his operator, Frio scrambled away from the battle scene reluctantly, before being jacked out by Layla.

[Escape Successful - Frio.]
By the time they had found the next group of viruses, it was becoming clear that WarriorMan was...off, somehow. He was veering left for no discernable reason, and his steps were very methodical, as though he was consciously having to make each one.

"Uh, WarriorMan? You all right? You're not looking so good..."

"...Huh? Did you say something?"

"Okay, something's not right...I'm jacking you out, now!" ...Huh? Why wasn't it working? ...Oh, the battle routines had been set. Dang. "WarriorMan! You've gotta get out of range of the viruses, or else I can't get you out!...WarriorMan?"

By now, WarriorMan was already beyond hearing, with all conscious functions ceased. Luckily for him, he had a failsafe for such an occasion, in that his body would automatically try to dodge all attacks directed at him while his battle routines were active, even if he was otherwise unable to act. This helped him avoid the worst of it, though he still ended up on the receiving end of a few bullets.

His lapse of consciousness didn't last too long, at least, and shortly afterward, he shook his head. "Urgh...what happened?"

"WarriorMan! You hear me?"

"Yeah. ...Wait a sec." That was odd. He had a feeling of being...alone. A quick look revealed a bunch of viruses, but no allies in sight. "Where'd Lion Boy go?"

"He had to leave. C'mon, you need to get out of there before you get wrecked! Can you move?"

"Yeah. A little dizzy, but I'm fine." Sadly, he wasn't really ready to take on such a large group of enemies on his own...even if he was perfect, that might well not be enough. He just needed to make sure this wasn't something he was going to make a habit of. With that thought, he immediately bolted away from the action, towards a nice, virus-free portion of the net. Running from the basic versions of viruses...how the mighty had fallen.

[Order of Turn:
1-Getting out
2-More getting out
3-Supreme amounts of getting out]
With his battle routines disrupted and his battle partner absent, WarriorMan had no course of action left but to leave the area as quickly as he could manage, thankfully successfully.

[Escape Successful - WarriorMan.]
It wasn't too long before WarriorMan could feel his battle routines stop, meaning he was safe. "Huh. Surprised they let me go that easily."

"At least you're safe now. Let's jack out now while that's still true." Actually, wait a sec. "Hey, your emblem's glowing again!"

The swordsman Navi looked down, seemingly not surprised. "Yeah. We'll check it out once I'm out of here." Not wanting that to be ruined by an ambush, a beam of light formed around him, and allowed him to exit the net.
