SINNBAD's Trials

[[Is DoubleBomb a multi-hit explosion?]]

SINNBAD dodged and weaved through the horde. Bringing his claws up, he managed to deflect a sword strike and then gut the Swordy's mount with a slashing uppercut reprisal. The virus reared up and the Swordy dismounted in a practiced way. It was like he was showing off his skills as a mounted knight. During that moment SINN rolled underneath another sword swing from the other knight, narrowly missing it by the skin of his teeth. He was now in the midst of them, surrounding him. Probably their plan all along.

SINNBAD bared his gleaming claws and went after the dismounted Swordy virus who had stepped in between him and the Swordy on the hill. SINN displayed his own flourish as he jabbed at the enemy knight with his razored blades. He struck at the midsection of the Swordy virus with his left, trying to plunge his claw into the virus' chest. Then he brought up his right to clock him in the face. If either struck the burned virus, he would go to the Valhalla of the digital world.

With the virus most likely defeated by the flurry of blows, SINN took the chance to break for it. He sprinted away from the group of viruses and headed towards the coward in the back. He would not let him get away. His boots sped his movements, as there was little in the way of ground friction in his floating state. To be even more ludicrous, he tried to channel the raw datum of his battlechip into his feet. SINN had shown that he had a hidden power to transfer data, usually at a price. The code of the claw bled off, somewhat deforming the claw, as the energy translated to his boots, trying to give him a speed boost. Like a hockey player going towards a goal, he would score one for the Net by eliminating all he came across.

Summary
1: Rageclaw1 [Battlechip]: 40 Null Damage + Slashing to Swordy-NA. [4/6 uses remaining].
2: Rageclaw1 [Battlechip]: 40 Null Damage + Slashing to Swordy-NA. [3/6 uses remaining]
3: Skate/Sprint as fast as you can towards Swordy-NC. Perhaps even getting one extra movement from frictionless skate/sprint/Rageclaw charge [2/6 uses remaining].

Other Effects:
1: Float Shoes [NaviCust]: Ignores effects from panels except broken/missing.
2: Rageclaw1 [Battlechip]: 2/6 uses remaining.
((No, DoubleBomb is just two single-hit bombs.))

Finding himself somewhat surrounded, SINN moved to delete one of his foes and pursue the Swordy guarding the mystery data. He ran at the dismounted Swordy and stabbed at it with his RageClaw, but the virus was ready. It dodged backwards and pulled back its own sword to retaliate. SINN was also prepared however, following up his first strike with a second at the virus' face. The second attack was successful, the claw plunging into the virus and deleting it.

With a viable escape route clear, SINN sprinted after the Swordy with the mystery data. He was able to run much faster than the enemy could float and caught up in no time, stabbing the virus with a claw. His attack had managed to miss the GMD the virus was holding, and the Swordy dropped the precious item after being hit. It landed to the side of the virus. The Swordy wasn't very happy with the attacking Navi and struck back desperately at SINN, landing a solid hit on the Navi's side.

The other viruses had turned around by now and were preparing to chase after SINN.

The sound of the two knights, locked in honorable combat, resounded across the Netscape. SINNBAD and Swordy-NC clashed into each other with their weapons of choice. Coruscate claw fell against brilliant blade, sparking between the two as they buffeted back and forth. SINN darted in and struck once more at the knight. He hoped to score a fatal blow to the weaker armor under the elbow.

Then he whirled around at the advancing horde. He pulled datum from Destin's PET and downloaded one of their newer battlechips. His talons glowed brightly before he thrusted both of them into the ground. A shockwave tore across the ground, spewing dust and dirt in its wake. The rending of the earth paved a path towards the army of viruses. The enhanced rippling flood pierced through the virii lines. It was unknown as to how many of them were caught in the groundswell due to the debri kicked up, forming a cloud that hid the devastation. SINNBAD looked onward, watching to see if any would emerge from the fog alive.

SINN's attempt at wounding the data guard was successful, as he deleted the Swordy instantly. He then proceeded to smash the ground in front of him to take out the whole group that was chasing him, deleting the two Melody without a second thought. However, the Swordy was spared from the assault as it was protected by the height advantage provided by its mount. Valiantly, it lunged forward and delivered a quick stab into SINN's armor. (30)

SINNBAD, caught again in honorable combat, unfortunately did not bring a weapon with him this time. His hands clenched into fists as he brought his hands up into a boxer stance. With a call to battle, his gauntlets flared up in a fiery blaze. Hoping to devour his opponent in fire, he threw a left at the virus. Then he cast a searing right at the virus. The smoke and brimstone rapidly dissolved away, leaving nothing staining SINN's grasp. Then SINN danced around the Swordy. Weaving and bobbing around.

Double punches to the face meant the Swordy was looking at a short life. Ouch. He had his spoils, however, and the green mystery data was still up for the taking.

Open GMD? Yes/No
"Downloading another MiniEnergyPack. Collect the winnings SINN."

Destin said as he slotted in another healing pack, leaving him with two. At the rate they were going through the MiniEnergyPacks they would need to refill their stock after two-three more battles. SINNBAD walked over and pressed his palm against the green crystal in an attempt to open it.

Summary
1. MiniEnergyPack [Subchip]: Heal 50 HP to SINNBAD.
2. Open GMD? Yes.

SINNBAD is now at 130 HP.
The green mystery data begins to decode itself in the presence of a Navi...

...and it turns out to be a trap! The data fragments explode in SINN's face, dealing a bit of damage. (10)

GMD: Bomb (10HP)
SINNBAD 120 HP.

"..."

Destin was speechless as his navi got a cartoon explosion to the face. SINNBAD choked a bit and dropped what remained of the crystal. The fragments fell and tinkled across the ground, dissolving away moments later. SINN began brushing himself off, coughing all the while. It took a minute or so for the effects of the sneak attack to wear off. Destin watched as the scorched ash was wiped from the battle navi's armor.

"Today just isn't our day."

Destin finally stated as SINN readied himself again. He would not loose to cheap tricks on the battlefield. Without even waiting for Destin's usual 'ready?' question, he set out again to fight.

[Requesting Battle 4.]
As SINNBAD wandered deeper into ACDC Net, it didn't take long for the Navi to stumble across a strange scene. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere was a wooden fence topped with what looked to be barbed wire. The fence formed a large square pin in which roamed four wolf-like viruses. A gate was set into one side of the fence, supported by gun turrets on either side. The gate was closed, but the whole structure looked flimsy.

Battle 4, go ahead.
Another fence. This one had turrets guarding it instead of tanks. Since the beginning, had SINNBAD accidentally stumbled upon a virus 'army' base? Sleeping Metool guards? Check. Electric perimeter fence and armored division? Check. Swordy Calvary? Check. And now a K-9 unit with turret protection.

However their method of enclosure was quite stupid. Why did they have a wooden fence for fire viruses? Must have been problems with financing. Either way the whole group would have to be exterminated before SINN could continue. The question was, how efficiently could Destin and SINN accomplish their task.

SINN had an idea before Destin could react. Pulling the datum from Destin's PET, SINN downloaded the Shockwave battlechip. The wolf-like viruses were currently encaged, making them close enough together that a line attack would effect them all. Destin noticed the download and comprehended the situation after a moment of thinking. The energy quickly collected in SINN's right-hand fist, making it glow and giving away his position.

But it was too little, too late as he plunged the glowing fist into the ground. The earth trembled and was rendered asunder as a large rift snaked its way from SINN's position all the way across the field, potentially under one of the Canodumbs, and possibly through one side of the fence and out the back. Most likely, catching all the Spikies in its worn torn path. Debris and jagged rocks were kicked up in the wake, piercing everything in the way. It was quite the devastating opening attack.

At that point SINNBAD ran. He circle-strafed the whole enclosure in a counter-clockwise direction. His main goal, beyond trying to dodge all the possible counterattacks, was to assess the situation. The main question on his mind at the moment was how much damage he managed to do. He weaved and snaked his way around the field, trying to see the damage at every angle. Readying the next round of attacks.

Summary
1: ShockWave [Battlechip]: 40 Null Damage + Piercing + Ground Attack + Line Attack to CanodumbA and Spikies A-D.
2-3: Run/Dodge around battlefield in counter-clockwise circle-strafe around enclosure.

Other Effects:
1: Float Shoes [NaviCust]: Ignores effects from panels except broken/missing.
The shockwave was fired by SINN, but it didn't go exactly as planned. The angle the attack was sent was far too skewed to hit all of the navi's intended targets and only pinned the stationary Canodumb and one unlucky Spikey that was in the way. The Spikeys blood-thirsty after seeing their comrade injured and wildly fired multiple fireballs from their mouth, easily burning down the cages and setting them free.

However...As soon as one walked out of the square boundary, the lone Canodumb swerved its head and open fired at the virus!

What?

It seemed the Canodumbs were put where they were, not to keep people out, but to rein the wolf-like viruses in. Had SINNBAD known that, he wouldn't have targeted the turrets like he did. It was a mistake that brought one of the semi-allies down to critical levels, easily destroyable should the dogs turn their fire on the cannons. Changing strategies slightly, he determined that the Spikies would be the priority targets. If he could thin out their numbers first, he would have an easier time. Also he would get some help from the cannons, as long as he stood enough of a distance away so as to not confuse their targeting programs. He would try to avoid making them think that he was one of the wolf viruses.

SINNBAD stuck both of his arms out in front of him. Datum coils snaked down from the sky like weird waterfalls and wrapped around his biceps. His limbs transformed into Shotguns. Their metallic forms gleamed in the digital light as he aimed the four deadly-looking barrels at the group of Spikies. With a booming thunderclap, the roaring cannonade drummed a death-march. The barrage of solid-shot missiles kicked up an inky blanket of obsidian pitch as it screamed across the expanse toward the horde of monsters. The ominous cloud of buckshot slammed into the enemy lines moments after discharge, scattering a swath of destruction across its path.

More was added to the mayhem of shell and shard. Accompanying the swarm of cannonballs, landing in the midst of chaos, were two small spheres. Grenades of finest make and launched from a modified Buster they were. The boisterous charges exploded in a spectacular fashion, erupting in a blaze of fiery passion, and choking smoke as dark as coal. The flames moved to engulf the storm-tossed pack, bringing the promise of tearing 'flesh' and rending 'earth' asunder. All would be scarred by the end, or so the prophecy of SINNBAD told.

The canine virus was too busy to really attack SINN as it try to take out the opposing turrets, and the turrets was too busy trying the keep the Spikeys in check. SINN was successful at taking the advantage over this situation as he open fired with his shotgun, managing to hit all of his intended targets and deleting one Spikey!

The attack shifted all the viruses' attention towards the navi, setting aside their feud the moment before and went in for the attack!...If they were able to survive through the bombs. The explosion took care another Spikey and further wounded the rest of the Spikeys. They rushed in, attempting a two-pronged attack on SINN with their lethal claws. The navi was extremely lucky to dodge the planned attack...but he received an unexpected shot to the shoulder from the Canodumb from afar!

SINNBAD raised his left arm in front of him to defend. His arm took on a golden hue and light exploded from it like a lantern. Quickly the illumination expanded from his limb, curving and arcing over and under its form. The luminescence coalesced into a sturdy bulwark. SINN brought the shield around to face the Canodumb and one of the Spikey viruses.

His other hand, his right, brought his Buster up. His right hand was still retracted, and the barrel was armed. His strategy changed as he swiveled gracefully, bringing his weapon to bare against each of the wolves in turn. His shield arm protected his other side as he turned from one side to the other, positioned as a line between the two wolves, leaving little of his body exposed. His Buster flared with life once, then twice. He attempted to silence each of the two viruses with white-hot ashen bolts from his blaster in a deadly dance of fate.

Summary
1: Guard1 [Battlechip]: (1 Hit Shield) + (Reflect up to 60 + Piercing + Line Attack). Hoping that if they attack on the first turn, that a Spikey and the Canodumb are in a line from each other (probably needs the Canodumb to be the attacker to get a line that goes that far).

Destin looked on as SINNBAD fought without his help. SINN seemed capable enough tactically that he could survive on his own. Though SINN was far from self-sufficient, as his own power was not great as of yet. SINN required his operator to be connected to him in order to download the tools he needed to fight with. Perhaps in the future he would have enough power to survive without his operator for more extended periods of time, but right now he was relatively powerless on his own.
Lifting a sturdy shield to block the enemy attack, SINN managed to avoid the repeated blast of the Canodumb's cannon fire, reflecting the blast back at it. (20) He then shot down the two Spikeys into deletion with his buster attacks before they could initiate another attack on the Navi.

SINNBAD turned his Buster on the remaining virus cannon... with his own cannon. His Buster took on the familiar square face of the Canodumb, brick-like in construction, and cracked the air with an earth shattering bang. He tried to hold his ground as the recoil shockwaved, launching the large ashen bolt at the Canodumb, but he couldn't due to his floating nature. So he slid back quite a number of feet as he was sent reeling from the blow. The heavy cannon shell spiraled outwards from the elongated barrel, slashing through the air. It would most definitely crash into the stationary Canodumb with ease, crushing the face in with its dense mass.

But if that was not enough, SINN's hands flared with the light of the sun. His right hand had popped out before they lit on fire, so as not to damage his Buster. He thrusted out his right hand, then his left. The blazing, fist-shaped spheres crackled hotly as they lanced across the battlefield. The combined arms of the two infernos and the cannon shot would be the death knell for the unmoving defensive artillery piece.

"Well let's get you healed up again."

Destin sighed as he slotted in another MiniEnergyPack, bringing his total down to one. He never thought he would have spent so many subchips so quickly. Especially with the meager returns in exchange. Destin would barely break even by the time they would finish another five battle and the subsequent upgrading to SINNBAD.

SINN was also distraught over the lack of his own ability. Being smacked around like he had been lately was quite the jarring experience to say the least. You stumble or fall before you walk. If that was the case, SINN was barely keeping on his feet as he moved on deeper into the Net.

Summary
1. MiniEnergyPack [Subchip]: Heal 50 HP to SINNBAD.
