Advance or A8scond!!!!!!!!

Sylk pet her little assistant on the head, it let out a little yelp of joy, as it tried to salute her before scurrying off. The prize it had returned with was more than good. it a bit more of an enjoyable mood Sylk surveyed the battlefield, ready to battle it out with the enemies left. Which happened to be most of them, but only because the spider had seemed to be taking it easy on her targets.

Let's get a bit more serious, shall we? Just a tad more... intense. Rei, if you would.

It didn't take long for Rei to get to the chip his spider needed. It was the one she always followed up with, when she used her poison. With the data installing, Sylk snapped her fingers to call up its powers. Three portals opened up before the three stunned enemies. From the shadowy depths raised up the DarkMechs, brandishing their large blades of death. It was a short matter of time before the swords lashed out twice in an arcing slice at each target, and extending the devastating cut to the viruses nearby.

Sylk could only assume they were all demolished.

One of them had escaped her poison however, and she wasn't about to let it attack her without a fight. MarkCannon Rei, 2 of them, if you would. The spider called to her partner in a commanding tone. As usual she was in charge of her battles 100%. She materialized the weapons onto each side of her body gripping each with 3 hands. Sylk Raised the barrels up high towards the Quaker which had taken to the air and focused the targeting sight as best she could. Your not safe from me up there~ A double blast rang out from the chambers as she pulled the trigger.

With their shots expended, she dropped the weapons top her sides as the vaporized into data once more. Now then, just one more. What shall i do with you, hmmm? She saw what happened when she tried her magnum on the seemingly weak enemy, and as its form had recovered she wondered if this would be her only chance to kill it off. She needed something big. The power of a cannon.

Summoning up the second most powerful weapon she had, The tankcannon locked and loaded as she started to take aim. She didn't need to use the explosive rounds this time as she usually had. All she needed was one large, powerful shot. She took her time with this one as she steadied the massive gun with her many arms strategically placed all around it. It was a powerful recoil, but well worth it considering the result. Taking proper care to anchor her body as she aimed, she was ready for it. An explosive echo could be heard as the barrel launched its ammunition, the shot barreling down on the Skarab. Her body shifted back from the force, her feet sliding along the ground for a brief moment.

The cannon dropped to the ground now useless, as Sylk took a deep breath. She wasnt sure just where to focus her attention, so she just looked onward to see what was left. She kept herself alert and aware of her surroundings with her enhanced vision. Nothing was going to escape her sight.

Summoning the DarkMechs of shadow blade mastery, Sylk made sure the Quakers felt some hurt. Unfortunately, one of them wasn't summoned completely, and was a useless husk that just disappeared off someplace. Another was summoned fine, but for some reason could only complete one strike of its sword before disintegrating. The remaining unstunned Quaker got a double dose of MarkCannon, effectively canceling its attacks by destroying it completely. The Skarab saw the TankCannon coming, and leapt out of the way just in time.

Tch... Sylk was more than disappointed by the outcome, the look on her face showing it clearly to the world. She couldn't believe her luck lately. It was just all over the place today. Worst of all her opponents were such weaklings and they just continued to defy her by continuing to live on. It was more then frustrating. She was down right insulted.

I'm through playing around with you. We're going to end this, NOW.

Her many eyes narrowed as her hands extended to the area around her. With a twitch of her fingers her threads extended outwards across the battlefield. As they wove their way into the very fabric of the net, she gained complete control over the terrain. This was her domain now, and nothing would defy her from this point onward. They were now in the spider's web. Nothing would escape alive.

Severing the silk from her fingers as her field of control was in place, She tilted her head as her body swung in the direction of the Skarab. By far it was the most annoying of the two remaining enemies. It had somehow evaded her most powerful attacks twice now and Sylk did not intend to let it have a hat trick. She called forth two piercing fang-like weapons into her hands as she stared down the skarab with an intense hatred. She didn't like getting shown up. She didn't like having to put up with a weakling who happened to have more luck for a brief moment. Her anger built up as her hands slowly began to gather flames, the intense heat transferring to the twinfangs only to cause them to catch fire themselves. With a swift movement Sylk let the attacks fly, darting towards their targets with a newly enhanced power. With her web in place, they wouldn't survive a hit.

It didnt matter though. She wouldn't let up there. Just in case it somehow survived there was more to come. The flames from her hands continued to burn brightly as the moved up to her arms. With all 6 lit up clearly she placed them toward the Skarab and focused her attention solely on it. The flames danced back and forth as they slowly collected into one large burning orb before the spiders body. As though it was giving a great push the blazing attack shot forth with no hesitation. It's shape spread out gaining a winged figure showing no signs of stopping as the phoenixshot1 closed in on the skarab.

The fire remained around Sylks body however, prominent on her six arms as her attention slowly became divided between the two viruses. She concentrated it once more into a round shape with her upper two arms while the other sets had their own plans. It wasn't hard to see what that was of course as two large clawed limbs of fire generated on either side of the spider resembling that of her lower arms. The two split up into different directions as they chose their targets differently, the spider aiming to strike either of them down by crushing the insignificant 'bugs' if they still somehow managed to squirm their way out of this.

The quaker still had one more surprise coming however. The concentration of energy between her palms flared up before being released like bullet towards the last surviving Quaker. The conflagration was ready to encompass and devour the remains of the enemy, holding nothing back until only ash was left. With this her final attack was ready.

The twin inferno's rose up above what was hopefully just the remains of her two targets. Even with that thought her ferocity wasn't slowed an inch. The claws came raining down mercilessly upon the victims had anything still remained enough to be considered alive. Two towering pillars of warmth rose up as fire connected with a surface, be it the ground or foe. The heat could be felt on Sylk's body almost melting away the frustration as she watched the beautiful scenery around her.

Mmmmm, such a lovely feeling. It's a wonderful cleansing sensation~ that's so much better, heehee~ Sylk ran a single hand through her hair as she relaxed momentarily. She couldn't possibly imagine anything could survive this trial by fire. Nothing could quell her burning flames and intensity quite like a sea of flames and mass destruction. Though she couldn't help feel a touch hungry after this ordeal, as though she had burned off too much energy.

Sylk licked her lips in anticipation as she wondered what delectable morsel she could find. Rei~ Let's find a snack, shall we? Hmmhmmhmm Wandering further into Net Vegas as she spoke. A powerful hunger in her eyes.

Sylk quickly collected the data from the battle, sending to Rei without saying a word. She was still wondering what her next fight was going to be like. She was pleased with the find of course, but right now her blood was pumping, her body excited for a fight.

[Wow... that's a pretty nice haul. This could probably help out quite a bit...] Rei was pretty taken with the rewards this time. It had probably been the best they had come across so far. [Well, I can tell you want to keep going, so I'm not going to try and stop you. Especially if we end up with more hauls like this.] He added, watching the spider navi continue to explore the unpredictable Net Vegas.

Good boy~ You're learning, heehee~. She retorted with a sly grin.

[[battle 5 Ready]]
After a little more traveling, Sylk came across a rather...odd spot. A NormalNavi was standing behind what strongly resembled a lemonade stand an 8 year old would make. Unfortunately, it was lacking in lemonade, but was not lacking in very badly written 'SOL BATTALIEN RECROOT STAYSHIN'. Before she could make any inquiries, however, a girl Navi in yellow and black floated over to it. Strangely, she appeared to be glowing slightly...apparently, the yellow parts were filled with neon or something. As she approached the kiosk, the NormalNavi raised a sheet of paper, and began to read from it.

"Hey there, beautiful! Do I have a deal for y-" It turned out that from beneath the back of the girl's helmet, two long wires extended to form a light bulb at each end. This was easily noticed when she smacked the Navi with them. "OWWW!!! WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?!?!...Oh, hi Lite!"

"It took you until NOW to notice it's me?!"

"Hey, it's hard being so great. Sorry if I miss details every now and then because of it!"

"Come on, you have to put in more effort! I mean, you didn't even try to spell 'Sol Battalion Recruit Station' right!"

"So I didn't use spell check. Sue me!"

"Ugh...Commander PhoenixMan had the right idea to send me here. Tell ya what. I'll help you out this time, but you really need to step it up afterward!"

"I dunno, I'd think my greatness would make up for the slack...but if it makes you feel better, do it to it! I dunno why I got booted to NetVegas, anyway...what happened to that Navi that was supposed to take care of this area?!"

"You mean what's his name? Shoot, I can't remember what it is...started with an S, I think? But anyway, PhoenixMan said he had other business to attend to. And really, so do I, but I'll be nice and help out here for a little bit!"

"Okay, but you'd better step on it, or else that chick over there won't be able to check out our fancy new station!"

"...Wha?" She turned around, quickly noticing Sylk. "All right, Sam, I want you to pay close attention to this. Take notes if you have to!"

"Nah, I'm good. You can take notes and copy them for me, though!"

The bright Navi opened her mouth to speak, but thought better of it, and instead hovered over to the spider. "Hi! Mind if I borrow a moment of your time? I'm Lite, and I'm a member of the Sol Battalion, a group of Navis that want to get rid of those with selfish goals concerning the Net, and give it a bright new future! Right now, we're focused on taking down the NeoShogunate Army, a sinister group that wants to take over the Net for their own ends! Can you believe there's an organization like that nowadays? We're a small group right now, though, so we're recruiting new members to help us out! Are you interested?"

"Pfft, that was awful!" The NormalNavi approached Sylk, and flexed. "Hey baby, join the Sol Battalion, and you'll get to hang out with the pure awesomeness that is me! ...Now THAT'S a plug!"

"...You're hopeless..."

"Besides, you wouldn't want to join the NeoShogunate Army! They're a bunch of hacks that aren't even a millionth as great as I am! Granted, few are, but still..."

"...I guess I'll agree with that, though. I've met a few members from their group, and they were the biggest jerks I'd ever met!"

"Tell me about it! They wouldn't even acknowledge my greatness! Fiends that can't even do that shouldn't be allowed to exist!"

"I dunno about not existing, but they're definitely fiends that are up to no good! Wouldn't you agree, miss?"
As Sylk approached her sights were set first upon the absolutely laughable attempt as a "RECROOT STAYSHIN" as it was so poorly displayed on the sign. She had no clue what it was supposed to be for until the two Navi's who seemed to be tending to it cleared it up. Their bickering was fairly amusing, the spider wanting to have a good laugh until realizing their attention was now on her. She had a feeling some fun could be had so for the moment she played along.

You're free to borrow more then a moment, Ms. Lite. She responded swiftly, before listening to the rest of her spiel. Sylk was less than pleased to here they were up against the organization she was a part of however. The thought was ever present to just lay a beat down upon then, but decided to play around with this for a while.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I can. I mean, there are just so many questions. She started off, feigning some kind of interest.

I mean, I've never heard of your group before. I can't just join with someone I know nothing about, right? She continued as she tried to plan out her act very carefully, trying to make a game of this in her mind.

and the... Neoshogunate you said? I've heard of them before, and they certainly don't seem to have as bad a reputation as you give them from what I've seen. Do you have proof that they are as fiendish as you claim? It couldn't hurt to get some information out of these too, Sylk figured as she popped question after question. It may come in handy later, she figured.

Don't get me wrong though, I would certainly love to spend some time with you Ms. Lite. You seem quite interesting, and I simply adore that beautiful glow of yours. Sweet words, before she leaned in a little closer, aiming to whisper to the female. Him on the other hand... how can you put up with someone like him? I don't think I could manage. Doesn't it frustrate you? It's a bit of a turn off to say the least. The spider weaving a web with her words for once, as she tried to get friendly with the brightly lit navi.

She pulled herself away as her speech fell silent, waiting to see what lite would have to say in response. She really only had one more thing to say for now till she heard the answer.

And just what do you plan to do in regards to the NeoShogunate? Are you planning some sort of gang war? Would you fight them were they to show up? the answer to the final question was the real reason for this. It would decide what would happen from this point on.
"War? Pfft! More like massacre, thanks to me!" Smack! "That hurts, ya know!"

"It's a terrible thing to say! If you didn't keep saying things like that, I wouldn't have to whip you so much!" Her lecture to the NormalNavi over, Lite turned back to the spider Navi, ready to answer any and all questions. "First off, it's true, we're a very small organization right now. But slowly but surely, we're getting better! Our goal is to bring peace and balance to the Net...which probably sounds like the NetPolice, but our stance is that they're generally a bunch of corrupt hacks!"

"Especially that NaviMan! He totally ripped off my style! Granted, who wouldn't, but still!"

"As for the NeoShogunate...well, they once tried to take over Yoka Net! But they were repelled by some brave Navis that stood against them, so it isn't exactly super widespread news. But if you don't believe me, feel free to look it up!"

"Yeah, when I heard about that, I was seriously ticked! I mean, I could've done it, no prob, and my name would've been known all through cyberworld! ...And I guess the Sol Battalion could hitch a ride, too."

The bright Navi was caught a bit off guard by Sylk leaning in, but didn't back an inch as she replied, rather quietly. "He's a pain, sure. But believe it or not, his heart's in the right place. He really does want to help, it's just...kinda lost in all the trash talk. But don't tell him I said that!"

Lite finally backed off, and wrinkled her brow as she appeared to think for a moment at the fire Navi's last question. "Fight them? We'd rather be diplomatic with them, but...every time we request to talk things with them, they just ignore us! If they're going to be unreasonable like that, we're not going to have any choice but to go against them! I think that's part of the reason Commander PhoenixMan started our latest recruitment drive..."

"Yup, I'm right here, and yet he wants to hire scrubs to do what I could do, no prob! I dunno why I keep that guy around! I mean, I know why I hang out with you, you're pretty and don't yell as much as the others!"

"Er, yeah..." The floating girl Navi sighed, a bit tired at her partner's antics. "We don't want to have to fight them, but if they won't listen to reason, we have to act, before they can harm the Net! Please, join the Sol Battalion, and together we can help end the NeoShogunate's threat!"

"Hellz yeah! And I'll tell ya what! If you sign up right now, I'll make sure you're always teamed with me! Special one time bonus!"

"Uh, sure!" However, Lite proceeded to look at their potential recruit, softly shaking her head as she started to mouth a nice, big 'no'. "Of course, if you have any other questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them the best I can!"
Hmmm, well i had heard word of that event... but its to my understanding they've been changing their ways, and trying to make amends for it. Sylk had done a bit of studying into the summit the NS had held a while back before she joined up. Any information about who she was affiliated with.

I'm not saying what happened was right, but they've made it clear they made a mistake and are trying to fix that. Is that not worth something? This was unfortunately the best she could come up with, only knowing through rumour and the summit. It was certainly something she was curious to discuss with the NS at some point or another. She couldn't imagine people like Lee or Escort being evil though. Granted Sylk had her moments where she may enjoy being a part of such a thing.

As she thought about it, Sylk figured it was only fair to tell them about what was going on. Otherwise they might try recruiting her for the rest of the day.

Well, that aside, I suppose I should introduce myself, hmm?I'm Sylk. However... Sylk paused for a moment, before snapping her fingers. Her body began to glow as her clothing graphics began to change. Just recently, I've become known as The Venomous, Multi-Armed Predator, Arachnid Lady Sylk of the NeoShogunate. She shrugged slightly, as her outfit finished updating.

Her new look featured a purple, sleeveless tunic, worn over loose shorts, tied with a cord at the waist. Sylk's emblem was now woven into the back of the tunic. Banded tape covered her wrists and shins to her heels. Extra tape was added to wrap at the wrists of her multiple arms.

You're a little late unfortunately. Of course, I don't wish to fight you Lite. You seem like a good navi, and I wouldn't mind getting you know you a bit better~ She added with a playful smile, as she looked towards the female navi. I wasn't with the Neoshogunate back when all this happened, but they've been very kind to me. The generals I've met with have been great and I can't see them as fiendish as you claimed. Her arms crossed against her body as she spoke, confident in her words.

I don't think we need to be enemies, either. Perhaps we could get better acquainted instead? Come to some sort of understanding.
Sylk's first line made the bright Navi frown, as though she had triggered an unpleasant memory.

"That's what we've heard, too...it's why we're still trying to negotiate! But if they won't talk to us, there's nothing more we can do! If they truly don't want peace, then we can't sit by and watch them destroy the harmony of the Net!"

And then, both Sol Battalion Navis were shocked as they learned of the spider's true identity. "...I should've known something was up...you're the first person I know of that's asked that many questions." Lite sighed as she landed for the first time, apparently slightly distraught that she tried to recruit someone that was functionally her enemy. "I wouldn't mind talking, but...well, I think if anyone can avert more battles, it'd be PhoenixMan and NeoShogunMan, not us. If there any way you can talk to him about it, please do it! I'll talk to PhoenixMan to see if he can set anything up. He's said that he wants to settle this peacefully, so I know he'll agree!"

The NormalNavi remained oddly quiet through the whole thing, as though the gears in his head were slowly turning...

"......GRAHHH!! The enemy's approached! Which is bad for her as she must face the wrath...of SuperAwesomeMan!"

"Wha?!" The untransformed female Navi backed off from her comrade, somehow giving off the vibe that she was both surprised AND not surprised at the same time. "No, Sam! You can't fight her! She's the first member of the Shogunate that's actually listened to us!"

"She stands against my infinite greatness! That's all I need to know to know she's evil beyond all hope!"

"Ugh...you're hopeless!" Lite hovered away from the other Navis, stopping for a moment to continue the discussion. "...Listen, Sylk. I don't think we're going to be able to talk with him around. I would like to see you again, though...tell you what! I just got a great idea! I can't help you beat Sam, of course, since he's my friend, but I also don't have to fight you! So I'm going to sit this one out. And to show that I don't consider you an enemy, I'll make you an offer. If you can beat Sam, I'll give you a cool, hard to obtain chip!"

"...Are you trying to help the enemy? TREASON!!!" The deluded NormalNavi pointed an angry finger at his electrical ally...at least, it was probably angry. It was hard to tell when his face always looked the same. "I'll have to think of suitable punishment later...for now, this chick is toast! Warm, buttery toast!"

With that, he raised his fists in the air, and screamed "SUPER AWESOME TRANSFORMATION!!!!!!!!!"...

...

...

...Causing nothing to happen. At all. The Navi looked himself over, apparently unsure why that didn't work. "...Huh. That's the 74th straight time that didn't work. I guess even my frame hasn't caught up to my awesomeness yet. Oh well, here comes the pain train!"

So, she had to beat up this guy while another member of his group willingly watched? What kind of group was this, anyway?

"Oh! You guys might want to know something..." Lite quickly interjected, pointing at a slot machine in the distance. "That slot machine over there activates whenever a battle starts...it'll constantly be switching terrain around here, so be careful! Of course, I won't be affected, since I can float!...Oh, you guys probably can't read what it comes up with from there, so I'll give you a heads up!"

As if on cue, the machine activated, spinning for a few seconds before deciding on what to start with. "Okay, it came up as...a Geddon1 chip!" And no sooner was that said, the entire floor in the area began to look a bit less stable...

The NormalNavi, however, didn't even seem to notice, as he again angrily(?) pointed, this time at his 'enemy'. "Time to kick ass and chew bubblegum...and I'm all out of mouths!"

You're infinite greatness huh? Sounds like your just trying to compensate for your short comings with an inflated ego. I guess i don't have a choice but it cut it down to size, heehee~ The Spider teased the over-confident and utterly foolish male.

Before she took action, however, she turned her focus over towards Lite. That's great to hear. I really do appreciate it, Lite. I can't guarantee this guy will still be in good shape once I've smacked some sense in to him, but I'll see what i can do. This shouldn't take to long.

The spider stretched a bit as her words faded, her attention returning once more to the idiot normal navi who for some reason thought he was enough to best her in battle. She'd seen much worse enemies in her past. She wasn't worried in the slightest.

Lets get started, shall we? Her voice containing a hint of excitement as plans for the fight ran through her head. It had been a while since she had a 1 on 1 fight with another navi, and with her current fire power there were multiple ways to handle this situation.

Let's start with a little trap

Her targets were the front and two sides of the normal navi, using the wonderful capabilities of her whiteweb chip to surround him and punish him if he tried to move around. With his temper and delusions she predicted it wouldn't be hard to take advantage of, as the chip infected the panels to the left, right and front of Sam. I bet you're just all talk. A scared navi who just runs around and attacks from a distance while hiding, hmm? She taunted, standing in a relaxed position as she watched him.

Thats ok though, heehee~. I excel at range, and hate close combat.

Her words were a slight bluff, being able to handle any situation close or far. Her plan was to try and get him to focus on close combat while she picked him off from a far or hit him with some of her best close range techniques if he got in to close. She wanted to control this fight and the way it flowed. She tried to add some proof to her comment as she followed up her words by calling forth some weaponry. From the ground up a base was formed as two turrets appeared to her left and her right. Two graphical displays materialized in front of Sylk as the cannons took aim, showing the sucker of an opponent in each of the sights. A click followed by a loud bang could be heard as a bullet left each barrel towards its target.

See? you're no match for me~ She continued to ridicule the poor enemy, not showing much mercy. He dug his own grave after all. Sylk wouldn't let him out of her web.

Of course she kept on her toes, trying to stay aware. While she hadn't thought much of the navi she didn't want to get caught off guard on the off chance he could actually fight. The last thing she needed was to be shown up after all this taunting.

Don't think that's all i have for you, either~ Sylk called, as she measured the distance between them and sizing up her enemy. She wanted to make sure her next attack hit Sam dead on, and leave a few burn marks on him when it did. Sylk took a deep breath as flames circled around her feet, slowly growing and climbing higher around her body. The fire's intensity made the spider grin as in encased her entirely like some sort of aura. Sylks upper right arm motioned high above her head as a open palm began to channel the her element into a more contained form. A burning orb of destruction became the result of this, the heat flowing in every direction.

Are you ready?

Her words were followed up suddenly, as she pointed the attack towards Sam before launching it forward. As the tightly compressed inferno closed in on her target, Sylk couldn't help but wonder what sort of reaction she would get. A cry of pain was all she hoped for, perhaps hearing him beg for forgiveness.

"...Hiding? HIDING?! You think someone as great as me runs around like a little pansy?! NEVARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!" BattleChip data quickly formed over the NormalNavi's arm, instantly recognizable to Sylk as a WideSword. "For tonight's all you can eat buffet, diced spider in web sauce!" He quickly ran over to his 'enemy', though oddly none of the panels below him were breaking under foot...

Not that there was much of a sample size to go on, as he was instantly trapped by Sylk's silken trap (-40). "Yeah, like this is gonna stop me! SuperAwesomeMan...away!" He quickly hacked at the webbing, managing to free himself pretty quickly...but not before eating both of the MarkCannons (-70x2). However, his body language implied that he was far from deterred. "Whatever, I'm all warmed up now, baby! Now, EAT SWORD!"

The first swing ate nothing but air, as Sylk handily avoided the already errant swing. The second, however, was a direct shot to the chest, easily cutting through her passive armor. This managed to mess up the flame Navi's aim just enough that her fireball was sidestepped by the NormalNavi. Suffice it to say that this did NOT help his attitude. "Like I said, pain train! And you're barely a pain caboose!"

"Hoo boy, if only his attitude was better..." Lite shook her head at the battle, still wishing it didn't have to happen. She then looked over at the terrain changing slot machine, noticing that it was starting to spin again. "Hey guys, the terrain's about to change! It's coming up as...MudFlop!" As one might expect from that picture, the area became less fragile and more...goopy, as both Navis were now foot deep in mud. The bright Navi, however, continued to float a few inches above it, seemingly unaffected. She seemed slightly amused at this fact. "Sure glad I have FloatShoes right now! Hee hee!"

Hmm, is that all you have? Seems your bark is worse than you bite. Her armor slowly weaved itself back together as she spoke, his attempt to harm her completely useless.

Sylks eyes fixated on the normal navi after she said that, one of her many hands glowing a light shade of green as it was directed towards the navi. Bursting forth from the mud came multiple strands of webbing aiming to surround and capture the navi and leave him helpless in the mud. Another hand followed suit as even more silken webbing rose up. The thread intertwined and strengthened as it tried to completely hold down the NormalNavi, Sylk wanting to see him completely helpless before her. They came from all angles, seemingly moving with Sylk's direction as her hand and fingers danced back and forth.

My bite however... My bite is much, much worse. Flashing her fangs with a toothy grin of hunger as she approached the navi. You're about to see just how much. With him getting so close to her for his sword attacks, he was within range of her powerful jaws. The spider lunged out at him, snapping at him with her razor-sharp teeth. Her body temperature was through the roof, her bite was enough to burn as she attacked. Her body quickly moved to continue the assault, as her 6 arms drew themselves back. Using all the force she could muster she swung all of her arms toward Sam, in an attempt to send him flying back.

Now then, shall we finish this? A single arm extended outward towards Sam as flames surround her body, before swirling and dancing solely around her outstretched limb. Above the normal name, a fire resembling her arm was being conjured, moving with her every action. It lifted higher momentarily only to have it come crashing down as speedily as possible. Sylk aimed to smash him outright, like a bug. She saw him as nothing more then a pest, after all.

She was confident in this fight, and hadn't expected it would continue on past that. She just stood back and watched, but remained on her guard until she could see the sorry state he had been left in. Just because she was confident didn't mean she would turn her back until she saw a defeated foe.

"Well, duh, my bite's terrible! I don't have a functioning mouth! Seriously, you should get your eyes checked! Oh, and don't think I'll be a sitting duck, like a SittingDuckMan! You see, I have ways to not feel as much pain! You might wanna look away, since I'm about to get real shiny!...Wait, did I just give my own enemy advice? Oh well, I'm so great that I can do that! YAHHHH!!!" Though it was perfectly understandable to think it was just talk, a yellow-orange sphere surrounded the NormalNavi, indicating that, for once, he wasn't making stuff up. "This baby can take a buttload of damage for me, so feel free to try breaking it!"

And Sylk immediately did so, as webbing crawled up to wrap the opponent...unfortunately, the barrier prevented it from properly grasping him. A second round of it also sprang up, but it was a bit to the right, and failed to further strain the defense. The Navi seemed to yawn, apparently not feeling the slightest bit of fear. Whether this was genuine courage in the face of danger, or just sheer obliviousness, was as impossible to tell as it had been before. "...Yeah, no, that's not working on this baby! Nice try, though! I'll give you something for the effort...a FIST to the FACE!" A large yellow and black fist covered the green Navi's hand, who reached back and attempted to slam it into the head of the spider Navi. The good news was, he missed his goal. The bad news was, he ended up aiming low, and hit her square in the gut, knocking her backward. Her casing didn't travel with her, being obliterated by the punch attack.

Did this stop her from using her fangs to strike? Not at all, of course. Unfortunately, the extra distance ended up giving the NormalNavi enough time to react and dodge, and subsequently point. "Ha! Behold, the amazing defensive power of SuperAwesomeMan!"

In the distance, Lite couldn't help but sigh. "You just put up a barrier and dodged an attack..."

If he had heard his ally's muttering, though, he showed no signs of it, as his free hand transformed into a blue cannon, which he then put next to his earpiece. "What's that, HiCannon? You want to shoot the spider? What a great idea, I was thinking the same thing! No wonder I keep several copies of you around!" Before he could, though, a flaming fist struck the barrier, completely destroying it, and doing some damage to the Navi inside it, as well (-55). "...Hey, my fancy barrier! That's it, you're cannon food!" A pair of energy blasts shot forth from the HiCannon, and while Sylk easily dodged the first, it put her in the position of getting nailed in the arms by the second (80). That stung. Seriously, ow.

"Please, you two, PLEASE don't destroy each other!" ...Oh, right, she was supposed to keep tabs on the slot machine for them. As soon as she turned back, it started spinning, quickly coming to its next stop. "And it's a...Element...something. I'm not sure what one that is...which one has the black Elemperor again?"

The area flashed, before the mud began to take on a more sickly, purple hue...

"Oh, right, I remember now! That's ElementDark! That explains the Poison terrain...yuck! Be careful, guys!"

Luck... The spider thought, as she looked at the events transpiring. She couldn't help that she wasn't favored today, as things kept going wrong for her. When a fool like this could even land a blow big enough to harm her, clearly it was not a good day.

As the terrain began to shift, her eyes widened quickly as the stench and the unsightly view registered. She was not about to let this happen, or she would be at an even bigger disadvantage. The spider immediately began to regenerate her armor, and as she did her threads spread outward from her body as well. Twisting together, weaving back and forth as they created her web across the entire field. She needed to completely cover that disgusting terrain.

Sylk was a little worried that it would leave her open for an attack, however, and even with her silken defense that didn't seem to be enough lately. It was time for her to test out a new chip as she activated the LeafShield Rei had so kindly gotten for her only recently. If she was lucky, it would do her some real good in this battle. That still wasn't enough though. She had taken some heavy damage much to her surprise and she couldn't afford to take more without recovering.

Sylk angled two of her arms behind her as she began to call forth two more chips to the field. A lovely chip which would help sustain her through the rest of the fight, or so she hoped. She could already feel the warmth as they finished developing, the healing flames bringing a smile to her face as she slowly started to relax and regain her composure. All this worrying wasn't going to help her. She needed to be focused to finish of this enemy. Her domain was set, but only for a limited time. She had to take advantage of this now.

She took the lead with one of her most devastating chips as large barreled gun appeared within her grasp. The TankCannon2 was sure to take out a large chunk of damage if it connected, but that in itself was the problem. Instead of the usual explosive rounds she opted to use a standard shot, to rely a bit more on the accuracy than the destruction. She focused her energy into the chamber, adding her fiery powers into the gun itself. Sylk lined up the shot. She knew this had to hit. The trigger clicked, the ammunition flew forth enhanced with the power of flames.

Sylk's actions weren't wasted. She dismissed the cannon only to replace it with yet another heavy hitter. The triple shot magnum returned to her grasp once more this trip, the familiar feeling of its grip in her palms. Such a reliable and powerful weapon, it brought her joy to fire it. Her arm slowly trailed upward with the barrel aiming above the two. With a deep breath, her arm snapped forward to point towards Sam, finger itching to fire.

Just a little luck... Just let these hit... She thought to herself, only a brief moment, before hearing the shot as it rang out into the net.

The NormalNavi didn't seem to be fazed by the toxic terrain, nor did he bat an eye at the subsequent turning it to grass. The reason was soon made clear, though..."...Zzz..."

"...Oh geez...don't tell me he conked out mid-battle again!"

"Huh...you say something, Mom...? Oh, right!" The green Navi jumped up, apparently realizing that he had been out of commission for a moment. "Happened again. I know I'm great and all, but sometimes I wish it wouldn't overwhelm me to where I get knocked out! Even awesome people can get overwhelmed by awesomeness!"

And speaking of which, his hand transformed again, becoming what appeared to be some sort of minigun. Oddly, it seemed to glow orange for a second, before regaining its ordinary coloring. Somehow, the glow gave Sylk enough time to cover herself with leaves, before the other Navi pointed his weapon at her. "Well, nice knowin' ya!"

PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW!!!

Countless bullets were sprayed from the vulcan, several of them hitting their mark. The LeafShield took the first volley and converted it into healing energy (+10), but later round managed to also smash her casing, and even inflict a little damage on her (20). Some extra therapy came quickly, however, as a pair of wax candles appeared and began to heal her up.

This failed to deter the NormalNavi at all, regrettably, who instead whipped up a new HiCannon and pointed it at the spider Navi. "By the way, my HiCannon decided that it wasn't done shooting things at you yet. So here you go!" And indeed, a blast was shot at her...hitting her, however, was a different matter entirely, as it missed in utterly spectacular fashion. "Well, even greatness like me can't god mode hits. Yeah, time to avoid things, since you've totally got something coming my way! I know it!"

And indeed, he was completely right, as a fiery cannon blast promptly roared as it sought to do nothing more than completely smash him. Which it did, most spectacularly (-164). After muttering something inaudible to his feet, he regrouped in time to see the Magnum coming...but his evasiveness levels proved to be pretty low, and was hit square in the chest (BATTLE END).

But, in what was probably almost to be expected, he failed to EJO. Surprisingly, however, it didn't seem to be for the reasons one might expect. "...Hello! Guy seriously injured by a crazy spider chick needs to take a siesta!"

"Oh, no you don't!" Abandoning her checking duties upon seeing her comrade fall, Lite floated over to the NormalNavi, keeping him from falling over. "You're not running off like that! Now, I want you to apologize to Sylk for that entire stupid fight!"

"Oh sure, ignore the fact I'm in mortal peril here!"

"Trust me, that's why you're not getting smacked! Though, if you really can't leave, I wonder if your PET's transmission program's acting up again? You should have Bert check it out ASAP! I guess I'll let you use mine to heal up, but don't go snooping around like last time!"

"Hey, those 'secret' files just fell into my hand! I really gotta question your tastes, though...there wasn't a single Navi in them that looked like me!"

The bright Navi gave the mass produced Navi a glare that probably put him at risk for deletion, right then and there, as her face started to glow beet red. "...Just...apologize for the battle!"

"Whatever!" He pointed at Sylk, seemingly angrily..."Hey! Crazy NeoShotgun or whatever chick! You fight okay for someone that isn't awesome like me! But next time, you're REALLY gonna feel my greatness all over you!"

"...Actually, speaking of that, you really didn't do a good job fighting. I mean, you had some good moments, but your technique was awful! And you didn't even use any of your innate abilities!"

"Hey, could you NOT talk me to death? I'm in severe agony, here!"

"...Well, I guess that's true. Once you're back at full strength, though, I'm giving you a refresher course in NetBattling!"

"...Actually, I take it back. Kill me now, that junk is BOOORING!"

"...GO! NOW!" And even the NormalNavi knew when to quit, jacking out into his teammate's PET without delay. "Oh man, he's such a pain! But just like in that battle, he has some really good moments." The shining Navi turned back to Sylk, and floated closer to her. "He never did apologize, though...so I'll have to do it myself. I'm so sorry Sam attacked you like that! Sometimes when he's off in his own world like that, he just can't control himself!" As she spoke, she bent over in a bow, to further drive home her sincerity. "And since I'm higher ranked than him, I should've found a way to stop him...so I'm sorry, too!"

Lite then rose, and brightened her expression. "You're pretty good, though! I can see why the NeoShogunate made sure to hire you! But I don't think you could beat me yet!" She playfully winked and wagged her finger, before straighting up. "Oh yeah, I promised you something nice if you won, and you did! So..." A BattleChip started to form in her hand, but before the spider Navi could see what it was, it vanished. "No, no! I've got a more fun idea! I've got several chips I think you'd like, but how should I know what one you'd really want? So, I want you to describe something to me...describe what would, in your mind, constitute the perfect chip! It doesn't have to be something that actually exists, just something that fits you to a T! Is it a close range one? One with distance? Maybe it's not something that does damage? Tell me!" While smiling, her silence and stillness made it clear that this wasn't some kind of joke....

- BATTLE 5, COMPLETE
- THE NET IS SHORT ONE JERKWAD...FOR NOW
- BUT WHERE'S THE REWARD?

Reward: TBD
Mmmm, finally. He was more resilient then I thought. Sylk remarked, as the battle ended, but oddly enough the navi didn't disappear. Unfortunately he just continued to ramble on pointlessly, and he still continued to insinuate he was better than her. She was REALLY tempted to give him one more good shot to shut him up, but she resisted the urge for Lite. She just let a sigh as she let Sam's female companion handle the issue.

Sylk raised an eyebrow at the remarks about some sort of secret stash filled with files of navis. She could only imagine the kinds of things which might be located in there. It was also obvious that Sam had no intention of giving any sort of apology, causing sylk to just shrug and shake her head slightly. As he finally ran off into Lite's PET, her mood was a little brighter. When Lite reminded Sylk about the reward, she was surprised at the fairly unique idea of having to describe something that fit her. Sylk never really thought about that sort of thing so it was putting her on the spot.

Oh? Hmmm... I'm not sure off hand. I mean, I'm pretty versatile you know~ She remarked with a smile as she tried to think of the best way to answer the question. Let's see... I'm not sure there is something that fits me to a T, but you did say it didn't have to exist. My perfect chip would be something that would give me power and control i suppose. Something that lets me take the battle and manipulate it to my own rhythm you know? Something as... Open minded and flexible as I am, heehee~ The spider commented, as she thought about how she wished she could fight at her best. She longed for the power to make her prey dance in her web, completely under her power.

Again, I'm sure that doesn't exist though. So I'll just have to use my own abilities to do that, I guess.
Lite hovered in place, thoughtfully listening to the spider's request. After a moment, she extended her hand, and produced a chip. "All right, you want a versatile chip...so I'll give you one that can be used in any circumstance. This chip doesn't do anything on its own...instead, it powers up any attacking chip! That way, you can use any one you want, even if it's not strong enough for the task at hand. If that's not versatility, I dunno what is! Oh, and here's some cash as a bonus! Don't worry, I've done a lot of busting lately, so I've got plenty!"

Once the gifts were exchanged, the bright Navi looked at Sylk again, once again pondering something. "Umm...I know you're probably busy with your own busting, so I won't keep you any longer...but, before you do...would you give me your e-mail address? Truth be told, you're actually the first girl Navi I've really gotten to talk to. I mean, I love everyone in the Sol Battalion to death, but so far I'm the only girl Navi in it! And there's some things you just can't talk to guys about...but, if you don't want to, I understand. It'd probably be sorta weird, what with being in opposing groups and all...but I don't think that's a good reason for not trying to be friends anyway. Don't you agree?"

Seems Sylk's got a choice...what'll it be?

Battle Reward: Attack+20 BattleChip data, 1500z
Accepting the gifts happily, Sylk uploaded the data to the PET for future use. Versatility is what i do best, after all. I could certainly make use if this. Thank you so much, Lite, hehehe~ She smiled, drawing her arms across her body as she relaxed herself after the battle, and down one nuisance.

As Sylk listened to Lite's next comment, she just chuckled to herself. Busy? Not really. After all i only came out today to kill some time. I was kind of bored, you see. That aside, It would be my pleasure~ So what if we're from different factions, right? A faction can't govern a person's individuality after all. As she spoke, Sylk began to call up a piece of data in one of her hands. Feel free to contact me anytime. Thing's have been pretty relaxed lately, so i can gladly make some time for you whenever. She added, as she extended the contact data towards Lite.

Just umm... try not to bring that "friend" of yours, kay? Last thing we need is another pointless fight to ruin a good time.
"Yeah, don't worry about Sam. We're not always teamed up like that. But to be fair, he usually makes REALLY bad first impressions..." Lite accepted the information, transferring it into her address book post haste, before presenting Sylk with similar data. "Here's my info, if you ever want to reach me for something!"

"Well, I should be off...I need to report this to Commander PhoenixMan. He won't be happy about what Sam did, so I want to be there to smooth things over if I need to. See ya, Sylk!" The bright Navi emitted a brilliant flash of light, with which she used to exit the area.
