NS Mission: Escort's Meetup Point

Sylks hands twitched as they moved down into the alley, her eyes darted back and forth as she took in the sketchy scenery. This was the kind of place you would expect t find people looking for a fight, and she was more than happy to give one. It wasn't long before these assumptions proved to be right, as villains poured out from every nook and cranny. She was more than willing to lay a beat down.

She hadn't given it much of a thought figuring she could handle herself, as could the rest of the group. The real shocker was what swiftly followed; Two limousines made their entrance and giving Chronicleman his exit, so to speak. Sylk just whistles in amazement at the devastating attack. I like your style, Miss Escort, heehee~

Sylk had never really driven before, but she wasn't opposed to trying. The problem would be that she might not make it there. I could drive, if you don't mind one of them looking like our poor book guy over here, heh. Mach has a good point though. Don't they have some sort of auto pilot? Sylk just shrugged assuming there was a logical reason why they could show up here unmanned but had to be driven from this point on.

Sylk just followed Machs group into the Limo, giving a shrug to the idea of taking one herself and prepared to leave. not much we can do i guess, let's go~
Escort smiled and took the compliments modestly, but looked more self-critical as they mentioned the capabilities of the limousines. "You're right, that was foolish of me. I'm so used to driving them that I didn't consider the possibility of being driven myself. You all are right, however; it's definitely best if I'm not seen driving one. No high society woman would drive herself... she mused out loud.

In the end, after rearranging themselves, Vector ended up driving while the others occupied the back. The other limousine was removed from the net as if it had never been there. As fit the situation, Lucky Master sat in the center with Mrs. Lucky at one arm and his other attractive mistresses on the other.

The drive didn't take long; it was a lot quicker than walking would have been and ultimately went uninterrupted. Escort and the others worked to get in character before their arrival, then stepped out together.

Hooking one arm around Mach's, Escort adopted an uncharacteristically mischievous smile to get in character and pushed her breast against the side of his chest. "I hope Lucky Master and the rest of you are ready," she beckoned her allies as they walked into the large, glittering Hera's Fortune casino.

A line with bouncers was set up in the front... It really was the last chance to get anything off their chests before they were under heavy scrutiny.
After rehearsing their characters for a bit, they managed to get more accustomed to their new personas. Vector really didn't know how to drive, but Mazer manual control over Vector's body plates to directly control the vehicle. The limo parked in front of the entrance, and Vector stepped out before he opened the passenger door. He gestured outside as the group departed, and started to walk towards the entrance. Escort started to truely get into character, hanging on Mach's arm, eliciting a smile on his face. He turned to Escort as she asked him if he was ready.
I was coded ready, honey.

Machman then glanced over to the other side, where Sylk and Aera were walking. Vector took up a position behind the group, and scanned the area steadily, while keeping a very crisp and efficient stride.
You ready, ladies?

Aera looked over and smiled.
Of course, Lucky~

Mach chuckled as he continued to walk with Escort, and looked over towards the entrance with the bouncers, and muttered to himself, the first part just loud enough for the bouncers to hear, and the second at a more conversational volume.
And that, is why I like these kinds of gigs. Oh yeah, you already gave me the notes for this little meet-n-greet, right baby?

Mach glanced towards Escort without moving his head, as he continued forward. He saw the bouncers ahead, but was prepared to simply walk through the entrance without as much as a stop.
How yall doin'? Lucky Master + 4, if you gotta put that down on a list or something.
As the limo made its way to the destination, Sylk took the time to run her character over in her head. Of course, playing a mistress didn't require much, but the attitude and look would be the key factors for this. She still wasn't entirely sure how a mistress would act, but she had a few ideas she hoped would work. Maybe if she acted flirtatious and stupid enough, no one would ask questions.

After arriving, Sylk looked at the line of bodyguards as she made her way out of the limo, staying on Mach's side opposite of Escort and next to Aera. The former spider strutted her stuff like she was on a runway, turning her head to Mach with a smile onto to retort with a I'm ready to go as always, Lucky~ after hearing him speak.

She tried not to worry about too much, pushing useless things out of her mind as they approached the entrance. She figured as long as she did her best to look good, that's all she would really need. She wrapped an arm just below her chest, trying to show of her bust as she looked over to mach.

Let's show 'em how you got your name, Lucky~
Escort was happy to see everyone getting in their roles. While her ordinary smile would have been charming and well-mannered, her new smile was cynical and challenging, as if sneering at the other mistresses who were acting so chummy with her husband. "They're going to waste their time checking our credentials? If you've got the time to do that, bring me some hor d'oeuvres..." she laughed haughtily, watching as the suited men became distracted, trying to figure out why she was picking a fight with them.

Childishly, she clung closer to her husband and smirked wider. She chuckled victoriously as Lucky Master's name came up on the guest list. "Uh huh... and you're approved for any guests that you happen to bring. You're one of our VIPs for this party, Lucky. Ask one of the workers if you need anything else," the bouncer responded, then moved aside.

The inside of the casino seemed like an odd mix of class and uncomfortably high-living, although these elements were separated from each other as though someone had come in later and added in new ones. The central area was a gambling parlor with various attractions, well-staffed by several suited navis. To the right was an area labeled "Auditorium," but hidden behind closed double doors. To the left was an area called "Palace of Vanity," hidden by similar doors. Beyond all of this, straight in front, was an oddly out of place seeming set of white, old-Netopian pillars, beautifully carved and chiseled. A sign perched atop them, with similarly neat carving and made of the same stone, read: "VIP." There were more bouncers there, but MachMan and the others imagined they'd be let in, since the man they'd met earlier had announced their VIP status.

Before they could break off on their own, a strange man with shaggy black hair that made him look like an emo intervened. He was clad in a purple suit with a white suit underneath; his collars and cuffs flared rather ridiculously. Although from a distance he'd seemed tall, he was really just lean; compared to Escort and MachMan, he was a little short. "Hello, my guests! I'm this casino's manager... They call me Achilles... why do they call me that? Hm hm hm..." he greeted the group, somewhat suavely. He had a fairly manly voice for such a skinny looking guy.

"Cause ya got weak ankles?" one of the bouncers joked, ribbing him in the side.

"None'a that, boys... not in front of the guests," he laughed, waving away his subordinate. "I happen to know that this is the first time you lovely folks have graced my casino, so why don't I fill you in on what there is to do around here? I know you've got a busy night ahead of you and Lady Luck won't smile forever... so I'll give you a quick run down." It was obvious that a quick rundown was going to be hard for him, because he really seemed to love talking.

"Over thattaway's the auditorium. We've got an excellent bar set up there, and every now and again, we give a little show. Something saucy! Magic, singing, dancing, dames... I like saucy."

"Over thattaway's the Palace of Vanity. Sometimes alla those hot dice get a man thirsty for the sweetest drink there is: a tall glass of woman. If you want to unwind with a real show, you head over thatta way. I'll be headin' back over thatta way in just a sec, once I'm done with my beautiful customers."

"Finally, the main attraction: we've got blackjack, roulette, slots, dice, high-low, all that jazz. I'll warn you though; we don't have any card games that take a while to play. Know why? Cause we ain't got the time to devote to them! We don't dance around winning and losing with a big game, right? We like it simple... things you can reach out and grab right when you want em. If any of those games sound like your speed, spend a little time here."

"Oh come now," Mrs. Lucky huffed, clicking her tongue against her cheek. "We're here on business! I thought that there was a special gathering going on here right now, Mr. Achilles?" While the move might not have seemed very tactful, it was apparent from the numerous shady figures hanging around that the place was unabashedly tied to the mafia. Apparently the "meeting" that they were supposed to be invading in secret was supposed to already be taking place.

"Hm? Nope, not yet. Big Boss said wait on it," Achilles chuckled, sticking one hand into his pocket. "C'mon, isn't that a good thing? Make yourselves at home. You'd rather be out on the floor than in some stuffy meeting, right?"

Escort kept her composure, but the group imagined she must be a little disoriented. She hadn't realized they were going to need to spend this much time on the casino floor. The group didn't have time to be confused, however; if they wanted to be in character, they were going to have to get active.
Machman smirked as Escort questioned the bouncers, and chuckled as she clung closer to him. He was on the list, and was actually a VIP. Mach knew to capitalize on this, as it would be Lucky's nature to use anything to boost his ego.
Heh, of course. If any of my fine companions or myself need something, we'll let y'all know.

The group was about to continue forward, and Mach managed to restrain his curiosity and limited himself to looking over the area without moving his head. Aera; however, had her head on a swivel, and was looking at everything with a combined sense of awe and excitement. She imagined a mistress would still be quite interested in the glitz and glamour of a high-class casino, even though her main focus would be Lucky himself. Vector's curiosity manifested in a fashion more similar to Mach's: scanning slowly from side to side in an attempt to take everything in.

But before they managed to enter, a Navi addressed the group and approached them. Mach raised an eyebrow at the sight of his rather gaudy purple suit and flared collar and cuffs. Aera had been looking at the Navi's clothing curiously, and was somewhat surprised by the tone of his voice.
{Achilles the manager, huh... a bit odd, but he might be useful. Someone to have my back if something were to go down.}

Mach listened closely to what the Navi had to say, and waited for a moment to cut in, and try to become more personable, while still keeping his "Lucky" charm.
Haha, I think I can keep my Lady Luck smiling.

He moved his hand behind Escort's back, with an obvious enough motion for Achilles to see, and to give the impression that he squeezed Escort's behind (though in reality it was just a simple tap). He hoped Escort would remain in character, since it wasn't like he was finding an opportunity to touch her rear... well, it wasn't his primary goal. Aera caught Mach's movement out of the corner of her eye, and watched cautiously. She was guessing this was a part of Lucky's character, but how would Escort react? She was hoping Mach hadn't gone too far.
But please, help us get acquainted with your fine establishment here.

The group looked towards the different areas of the casino as Achilles addressed them, and each of them were rather curious to see what goes on in each area, especially since they haven't been to a casino before, let alone one this ritzy... and risqué. MachMan noted the lack of Poker-style games in the gambling area, but then he heard Achilles's explanation. Made sense, since quicker games would allow more people to go through, thus bringing money at a much faster rate. Mach quickly remembered one of Lucky's attributes as a brilliant investor, and made it a point to follow up this marketing scheme with Achilles. He was about to bring it up before Escort made the point of attending the meeting, the primary focus of their mission.
{Right, the quicker we get to the meeting, the quicker we can get out of here. I bet Vector is going to practically fall apart trying to track all the possible assailants in this building. Though this place is interesting, it's also venomous. The mafia is practically crawling over the walls of this place.}

Unfortunately for Mach, and apparently for Escort as well, the meeting was somehow being postponed, and this was due to someone called "Big Boss." The statement sounded rather ominous, even when followed by an open invitation to live it up while they wait.
{Well there goes that plan. I have no idea who this "Big Boss" is, but he's either important for this mission, or an enemy... probably both.}

With no other options, and not wanting to allow an awkward silence, he smiled and replied calmly.
I like the way you think, Achilles! We have a whole casino to explore, it's not like the little pow-wow with some mafia suits is gonna go anywhere.

Vector walked up next to Mach, causing him to pause, and lean in towards Vector as the SP moved towards his ear. Vector spoke clearly enough for Mach to hear, but for Mach alone. It was only a brief message, and Vector took a step back before Mach glanced back towards Achilles.
I assume you have a place for my wife and my associates to freshen up, right?

Aera was about to kindly protest to the decision, since they really haven't done anything that would warrant an upkeep of their appearances, but Mach looked towards Escort and spoke.
Go on ahead, I have a couple things to discuss with our host here. Don't let our young guests wander off; I know you can keep them out of trouble.

Vector stepped in closer, as if he was about to speak. Mach raised his hand lazily before the SP spoke.
You and I have both seen my wife make a grown Navi cry, she can handle herself, right honey?

Mach looked over and smiled at Escort. He guessed she was probably wondering what the heck he was up to, so he tried to help make her understand what he was trying to do, while still staying in character.
It should give you three enough time to decide what you want to do here while we wait, since we have quite a bit to choose from. Just don't go having fun without me, alright?

Vector seemed to calm down and stood next to Mach dutifully, and Aera was convinced Mach was doing this for a good reason. She wasn't quite sure yet, but she decided to comply, and was ready to bring Sylk along with her if needed.
Sylk just relaxed and tried to look pretty while the men talked, making sure to take a good look at everyone around them. As she listened to Achilles go on and on, she got the notion that he enjoyed hearing himself talk and could very well be full of himself. She could very well be wrong, but first impressions tend to be fairly strong. She listened to the conversation intently, but she tried not to butt into it abruptly. She took her time trying to think how her character should act.

Awww, Lucky... Associates sounds so impersonal~ She teased, pressing up against mach's free side with her body. You know I like it best when you just call me Widow~ She sadly couldn't come up with a better name, but with her usual theme still somewhat visible, it would have to do.

I'll forgive you though, cus your just so handsome. She laughed softly to herself as she pulled away, sending a wink towards mach while taking a step back.

Sylk was leaving everything in Mach's hands at this point, with him being the main focus for the night. She was trusting in him completely. Her own role was pretty much just to be eye candy, so trying to draw too much attention to herself or speaking up might throw things out of place. Of course it wouldn't stop her from the occasional remark like this, to try and show there was some truth toward being a lovely mistress to the Master Lucky.

As she thought about Mach's suggestion for herself and the other females to get out of there for a bit, it did seem a bit odd, but there were a few ways they could roll with it. Things would be a bit easier if they could figure out what to do, and it would give Mach a chance to get in good with the owner for now. Freshening up isn't such a bad idea. The ride was a little stuffy, and a lady can never look too good, hmmm? A nice drink wouldn't be such a bad idea either~

Sylk looked over at her female accomplices, waiting to see if they would agree to go with her. She was a bit worried that it could be out of character for Escort to go along with the two mistresses Mrs. Lucky probably detested, but maybe there was a way to make it work. Shall we?
"Ha ha ha! A little greedy, aren't you? You see your ladies lookin' at me and send them all off to powder their noses? Shreeewd playin', Lucky," the man laughed in a good-natured way, waving off the women as Escort took them in the direction of the Auditorium.

"Of course, dear. If you try anything while I'm gone, you'll be crying too. Come, girls. Let's get nice, pretty, and drunk off our asses. Just the way Lucky likes us, hmhmhm..." Escort chuckled, guiding the others in that direction. She hadn't seemed to react at Mach's finger tapping her buttocks, but it was hard to resist giving it a fuller grasp; the definition of her body was easily visible in the slender dress.

As the girls walked away, Achilles gave another whistle. "Look at them go... You aren't like us normal guys! Us normal guys sit down in the Vanities and enjoy some tender love and affection. You flash that smile and those girls give you the same service for free, huh? Lucky, lucky!" he guffawed, although he did seem envious. "Anyways, let's put on our serious faces now, brother. What's on your mind?" he asked, raising one eyebrow. While he seemed like an intelligent and perceptive person, there wasn't anything critical in the expression. It seemed doubtful that he saw through the disguise.

-------------------------------

Escort and the others arrived in the auditorium after peeling back the large, double doors. Inside was a huge stage where a show was already in progress; several fantastic looking navis were putting on a visual display, almost like a magic show. On the net, a magic show might not have the same impact as in real life, but they were giving it a good effort. Lots of round tables were set up with clapping patrons.

Over at the opposite side of the room was the bar, along with a selection of two restrooms, obviously distinguished by gender. It was a little odd seeing them there; it reminded them of the fact that there was really no reason that a navi would ever need to urinate. Why were there restrooms here, then...? Perhaps it was an atmospheric thing.

"I'll be in the bathroom if you need me. Feel free to buy a drink, if you want, but don't get too hammered or you'll be easy prey for Lucky. And the last thing you guys want to do is end up straddling him in a drunken haze, right? Of course... standards and all that," Mrs. Lucky explained with a derisive look spread across her face. With that, Escort kept character by seeming hateful of the mistresses and wondered off to be by herself. It was a vital step in keeping character, but it did unfortunately leave the two girls by themselves.
Machman smirked confidently in response to Achilles.
Gotta monopolize, Achilles!

Mach laughed with the casino owner, and stopped as Escort spoke to him. He made a rather fake innocent expression in response to Escort's playful threat, followed by slightly rolling his eyes while the trio walked over towards the restrooms near the auditorium. He glanced over towards the three superbly attractive ladies walking away, and noticed Achilles was rather drawn to them as well. Mach chuckled as Achilles made his somewhat envious comment. He managed to keep himself from blushing and adjusted his tie while making a sidewards glance towards the purple-suited Navi.
Luck isn't all of it, I assure you. Heheh.

Now that the pleasantries were done with, Mach seized the opportunity to talk business with the Navi. He assumed the friendly attitude was simply due to having a presumably rich customer, but there was a chance to get on level ground, and possibly forge an alliance. If the casino owner considered Lucky as a friend, not just a customer, he might be able to get support if his identity was questioned, or if something violent were to happen.
I was just thinking about your current setup in your gambling area. Speaking as a fellow businessman, your focus on the quicker games is a pretty good idea!

Machman lowered his voice, and made a subtle grin. He was trying to give off the impression that though he's seen the marketing scheme for what it is, he appreciated it too much to reveal the secret to anyone else.
Shorter games mean a faster flow of customers, meaning a lot more cheddar per hour, you get what I'm sayin'? Very simple, but your creative reasoning behind it is pretty good. I like your style, Achilles.

Mach crossed his arms, and glanced past the Navi before he focused back on him. Vector continued to stand quietly, scanning the area.
You likely already know I have a few businesses of my own; communications, R&D, chip shops, a little dabbling here and there. In fact, Widow is the public affairs chief for a Netfrica-based mining company that I'm interested in. So needless to say, I have a few chips all over the board. However, I'm starting to look into getting involved in the entertainment industry. I wouldn't mind having my own casino one day. I would have pursued this already, but I'm looking for some local experts for advice. Consultants, if you will.

Mach smirked as he looked directly at Achilles and nonchalantly slid one of his hands into his pocket while the other hung down at his side. He spoke confidently, with a seemingly friendly tone, as if he was addressing a prized apprentice.
We'll have to see what's in the cards, but you might end up on the top of that list. And of course I like to be rather generous when it comes to business partners, especially when it involves trusted information. I can't trust just anyone nowadays. You scratch my back, and I scratch yours, as cliched as that sounds. Does that "sound like your speed" to you?

-------------------------------

Aera followed Escort away from Mach, Vector, and Achilles, and only glanced back once or twice. She was a bit worried about separating from Mach, but at least Vector was there, and she felt Mach shouldn't have too much trouble keeping in character. She decided to put the thought on the back burner and look around the lavish casino. The entered the auditorium through the large double doors, and saw a show was already in progress.

Aera tried to keep her heels from making too much noise as she walked along, and looked curiously at the Navis up on stage. She was surprised by how colorful and well-dressed the Navis were, it seemed so different from what she's used to. They stopped by the restroom, and Escort addressed the pair. Escort was still completely in character, and Aera started to feel the spiteful side of Mrs Lucky. She wasn't entirely surprised considering how she would hate Lucky's mistresse- {..straddling him?}

Aera looked down as she tilted her head to the side. Her eyebrows were furrowed in thought.
{What does she mean? Like straddling a chair or something?}
She looked over towards Sylk, who is now known as "Widow," and raised an eyebrow, wondering if she had any clue as to what Escort meant either. Meanwhile, back in the real world. Mazer almost choked on the water he was drinking as Escort spoke. He hacked a couple times trying to catch his breath, and clear the water out of his lungs.

Aera then started to think about Escort's comments about getting drunk. She had never been, nor seen anyone drink any sort of alcohol before, so this was completely new to her. She kind of wished Mach was with her right now, since he would have been able to help her understand what Escort meant.
Sylk turned and gave a little wave towards Mach, as the ladies made their way to do what they pleased. She figured Mach had some kind of plan or idea he wanted to work on alone with Achilles, and with vector their she figured they would be fine on their own. In this situation, Sylk figured it was up to her to look after Aera, since with Escorts character they probably wouldn't be together for long.

As the entered through the large double doors, Sylks attention wandered all over the room, trying to get her bearings and an idea of what she wanted to do with her free time. The bar had definitely peaked her interest, as she had never really had the chance to try such a thing before. Of course the thought may not be the best idea, after considering it, as who knows what might happen to her and Aera if she was completely wasted.

Suddenly her attentioned snapped towards Escort as she began to talk to them, with Mrs. Lucky's hatred quite clear. Sylk chuckled to herself at the comment, quickly retorting herself. Oh, of course not. Why would we ever do such a thing~ Her eyes narrowed slightly, with a mischievous grin as the mistress character took over a bit. I'm sure it would be much more fun completely sober~ She giggled to herself as she gave a slight wave to the retreating Escort.

She slowly turned to Aera, who had been a bit confused by the discussion. The poor SP was so cute with her innocence, granted Sylk wasn't all that experienced herself. She had just happened to "accidentally" find a few videos which educated her on the subject in her free time. She placed a hand on Aera shoulder, looking at her slyly.

Don't worry about it, dear. In due time. After thinking about it for a few moments though, another mischievous thought popped into her head. But if you're still curious after the mission, i can teach you all about it~ She offered cheerfully, before sliding her hand from the Sp and headed over towards the bar. Her ruby stare locked on to what she assumed was the bartender, and called to them.

Hi~ Could you recommend something to quench my thirst, dear? I could use something sweet and relaxing.
"Ah, well, I dunno that faster is always more profitable. It keeps the eggheads out and the slick guys in, though," Achilles responded, keeping one hand in his pocket and the other on one of the golden entrance rails."Really, I'm just too stupid and impatient to play long games! Heh..."

The man's expression seemed to stay basically the same, even as Mach went into fake business dealings with him. Despite not liking poker, it was possible that Achilles had quite the poker face. He stopped for a moment with a calm smile, as if trying to think how to respond. "That's an attractive proposition you've presented, friend. However, this place isn't really mine any more; I just manage it. Big Boss is the one you gotta talk to. Don't worry though, he'll be at your meeting. Hell, he bought me out... bout a year ago now." MachMan seemed to notice something sad in Achilles' eyes, like a glimmer of injured pride.

"Doesn't matter how much I like ya. If you get into trouble here, you're on your own. Nobody's gonna go against Big Boss, 'specially not me and my weak heels. You shouldn't either."

With a wide grin, he tried to dismiss the last subject and patted Lucky on the back. "Hey, don't look down! I can still be your buddy. Here's a special tip, just for you: you owe it to yourself to check out the Vanities, at least once. Hell, I spend every shift I can in there! Do it while your wife's not lookin'. The timing won't get any better!" he assured MachMan, ribbing his patron playfully in the side. "Hell, if not for yourself, why not for your suit there? He's lookin' a little stiff! Could probably use a good time."

-------------------------------------

Having time alone in the bathroom, Escort gathered her thoughts as to the events thus far. Everyone was staying in character quite well, although she was beginning to think that Aera was a little too pure to be playing the role of a mistress. "She might have done better as a bodyguard," the navi sighed to herself, looking at her own slightly unfamiliar face in the mirror. She didn't really feel comfortable with all of the makeup and femininity, even now.

As another woman walked in to another stall, Escort took it as a sign to leave. Quickly, she exited back out to rejoin the girls.

-----------------------------------

The bartender was a seemingly mass-produced navi, something like a gold heelnavi with a white toga and green laurels circling his head. Putting down the dish he'd been busy wiping, he turned to Sylk and crossed his arms. "The best thing you can get is Ambrosia Water. It sounds kinda diluted, but that stuff'll put you in the right mood for this place. Turns women into goddesses and goddesses into demons, hehehe..." he chuckled eerily. "Let's say this first drink is on the house tab. Big Boss said 'Let the ambrosia flow like a fountain tonight,' so I'm following his orders. There's one for your friend too," he explained, sliding too large flagons full of sparkling liquid towards Aera and Sylk.

It looked like it was just sparkly water... it was hard to imagine it would be particularly inebriating.
Mach managed to keep a calm expression as he realized he just made a rather obvious (but seemingly non-fatal) mistake.
{Shit, he did say he was just the manager before. Man, another one of those stupid mistakes and I could bring down the whole house of cards. Now all I have is a pretty much useless, pervy manager. Well, I guess this is better than nothing, and hopefully the others have had enough time to collect themselves.}

Mach feigned a smile as Achilles ribbed his side. Vector heard Achilles' comment rather clearly, and glanced over to him before he slowly raised his arm towards his face, and adjusted his fedora.
I'd have to politely decline, sir.

Mach turned towards Vector, and though it pained him to even think of the idea, he did so to keep in character.
C'mon now, Vector! Let's live a little! Consider it thanks for keeping me out of trouble these past few months.

Vector's eye tightened a bit, shocked at Mach's reply. He looked from side to side quickly before he responded.
Sir, what about Mrs. Luc-
Forget about her! She's probably schmoozing with with a drink, a bartender, or both. Achilles has given us a rather good opportunity, it would be rude to not oblige.

Vector continued to persist, while trying to remain in character.
But, sir..

Mach stepped to the left, towards the Palace of Vanity entrance.
No buts! Unless they're attached to fine-lookin' women! Heheheh!

Mach tried to adopt a rather lecherous smile on his face as he glanced over towards Achilles, trying to acknowledge the Navi's suggestion. He continued to walk towards the double doors, and Vector forced himself to fall in behind him. Vector's true concern was not for Mrs. Lucky's feelings, but for Aera's. Though he wasn't certain Mach felt the same way, he too was very concerned about it. Though it went entirely against his whole being, he had to keep the "Lucky" character intact. He could only hope Aera wouldn't think less of him for what he's doing.

Mach looked back to Achilles, and canted his head a little to the side, gesturing towards the Vanity entrance.
Are there any particular "drinks" I should look for? Any favorites?

-------------------------------------

Aera smiled at Sylk's somewhat reassuring comment, but then felt a little more confused as Sylk's demeanor slightly changed, and she offered to "teach" her about it after the mission. This promptly caused Mazer to nearly choke again, and he started to rethink attempting to rehydrate himself at his particular time.

Aera followed Sylk to the bar as Escort came out of the restroom. She overheard the conversation between Sylk and the bartender, and tried to act more... experienced as she saw the flagon being slid towards her. She glanced over the container and the liquid within, but managed to hold back the curious looks, to keep her character intact. She noticed how large the flagons were, and saw Escort walking towards them out of the corner of her eye. She then looked over towards the bartender, and gestured towards the drinks.
Could we get a trio of glasses, please? These look a bit heavy, and we have a third who'd likely want some as well.

As Aera waited for the glasses, she caught a glimpse of Mach and Vector as they started to walk towards the double doors of the Palace of Vanity. She saw this as her chance to fully incorporate her character, and leaned towards Sylk before speaking. She tried to keep her voice low enough to keep Escort from hearing, but the bartender was likely close enough to hear.
Hey, it looks like Lucky's trying to start the fun without us... We can't allow that~, now can we?
Indeed~ Our third could use it to lighten up. Sylk retorted, glancing back towards "Mrs. Lucky" briefly, before turning her attention to Aera and laughing softly to herself. As her hand reached around the handle of the large flagon, the navi couldn't help but think it wasn't very feminine. She wasn't sure if this would clash with the whole mistress look, but she took into account what the bartender said. If it was really "flowing", then she wouldn't be the only one. If that was the case, it was fine.

... That was stupid. It's a drink, who cares!

She quickly dismissed the thought, slowly raising the mug to her lips and sampling the drink. It went down easy, with a taste she couldn't quite place upon her tongue. She didn't quite get why the drink would be so special, but it wasn't bad. She wasn't going to complain. It's quite good, thank you~ She spoke, flashing a smile as she held the drink with both hands.

As her attention was caught by Aera's remark, Sylk just pondered for a moment. Oh? your not jealous, are you? We can let him have a bit of fun... Only a little though~ Enjoy your drink and we can chase after him in a bit dear~ She whispered to her fellow actress, before taking another sip.
Aera picked up her flagon as well as Sylk suggested waiting for just a bit before pursuing Lucky. She made a pouty frown and looked up from her drink towards Sylk.
Please, call me Avia. Calling me "dear" makes it sound like I'm just a child, and you're actually younger than me... though I hate to admit it...

Aera giggled before she took a sip from her drink, and felt her tongue tingle and experienced the rather sweet taste. It went down smoothly, but it gave her an overall tingly feeling, almost giving her goosebumps. She had never experienced alcohol before, but she seemed to have the common sense to restrain herself to small sips.
Mm~! This is good, thank you!

She smiled towards the toga-wearing bartender, and gave a quick wink. She then turned back to Sylk, and leaned in to whisper into her ear.
Don't tell her where Lucky went, so we can have him for ourselves~

As Escort arrived next to the pair, Aera non-chalantly pulled away and smiled towards her. Aera then extended her flagon towards Escort, offering it to her.Care for some Ambrosia, Mrs. Lucky? It's pretty good!

---------------------------------

As for Mach, he had no idea what was in store for him inside the Vanities, and neither did Vector.
"Oh ho! Glad you asked. As a talkative manager, it's my job to have opinions," Achilles laughed cheerfully, glad that he'd finally managed to talk Lucky into going. "Alright, first off: you go in there, it's separated into three areas. There's stairs leading to the upper floor, Heaven's Trumpet, where guys and gals perform strip shows while a smaller bar man serves some drinks. It's a good time, and you can even take your other girls in with you if you like!"

"If you keep on this same floor, you'll find Living Respite. It's where you can get some one on one time with your personal hostess. There's so many girls to choose from, but you gotta know what you're looking for. Big Boss brought in Muse... she's pretty much the classiest girl in there. She's gorgeous and has a mind that's really beyond this place too. We got a new girl named Tilt recently... I tried her but it's uh... It's an interesting experience, I'll leave it at that. Don't put down any alcohol before you meet her. Really, my personal favorite's Philanthropist. I call her Philly... She's cute and really knows how to treat a guy! She's not too bright, but hey, that's not really what I go in for. There's lots of others, but if you mess up you can end up in a locked room with some real nasty girls... If you got the taste and the endurance for it, though, go right ahead.

Pausing at the entrance and scratching his head, Achilles tried to decide how to describe the final area. "Final one's Hell's Desperation. It's uh... it's basically a dark room with a filthy Pagan orgy... heh... It sounds like I'm kidding, but I'm not. Don't go down there, man. You'll mess up your suit," he chuckled. His face looked suave as usual, but it was pretty clear he detested the area. It had probably been added some time after his ownership of the casino / pleasure palace.

"Anyways, I got a knack for telling when somebody's tired of Achilles, and you, my friend, have had enough gab. I'll let you and your bodyguard go loosen yourselves up. Ciao for now," he finished, waving off his guest and heading back to the front.

-----------------------------------------------

"You're welcome, ladies! That should last you for a while, but tell me if you need anything else," the man behind the counter replied with a smile. The smile didn't seem to have any particular meaning behind it.

Despite the robust look of the mug, the drink was quite sweet; it was obviously tailored to women. It did appear that only women were being handed this particular beverage, and always on the house. It was hard to distinguish, but the inebriating effect was also rather strong. Escort took her own mug from "Avia" with mixed feelings; she was happy that they all seemed to be staying in character and yet getting along, but she was somewhat perturbed by the idea of getting too drunk to think clearly. She made up her mind that she'd reject the drink to stay in character.

"No, I'm afraid I don't need any. It's really an unrefined drink unfit for a woman of my status, anyways," she sighed. As she looked to the left, she failed to see MachMan, as he and Vector had already disappeared through the double doors, hurried on by Achilles. This meant that she wasn't really sure where he'd gone at all. "That's strange... where has that man gotten off to...?"

She was trying to discretely ask for the girls to reveal MachMan's location to her, but to stay in character, it wouldn't be terribly likely that the girls would just give up the information to Mrs. Lucky.
Machman noticed a slight attitude switch in response to him going with the idea of entering the Vanities, and wasn't entirely surprised. He listened with a smile as Achilles started to describe the surprisingly complex area. He followed quietly and looked over at each area as Achilles mentioned them, but was trying to formulate a gameplan of some sort.
{Hm... definitely Heaven's Trumpet if the others show up. I could probably wait there and review the meeting notes while generally not being disturbed, nor specifically watched. But then again, Muse might have some information about Big Boss. But on the flip side, she might be able to get some information about me, which could blow my cover... }

Mach glanced over towards Vector, who was looking around cautiously while sticking nearby, and tried to keep in character as he got a likely crazy idea.
{Man, I really don't want to have Vector bite the bullet like this... but... I think I should have him meet Muse. His character is essentially identical to his normal self, so he'd be the most secure individual to gather intel.}

Mach's mind got slightly sidetracked as Achilles tried to describe the "Hell's Desperation" area, which made it rather hard for Mach to stay in character. He managed to raise an eyebrow with an unsure look, mixed in with a bit of disgust.
Kinky... Yeah, thanks for the warning.

Mach's expression changed to a more impish smile as he reached over and grabbed Vector over the shoulders and pulled him closer. Mach continued to act out his character, and acted a bit "buddy-buddy" with his bodyguard as he slightly teased the SP.
Hey, you should have some time with Muse! She sounds like just the girl for ya! Just don't let end up under Big Boss's payroll too, you still work for me, haha!

Vector immediately resisted the idea, and his mind was thinking only of his duty as a knight, and how it violated his code of chivalry. He actually started to feel bitter towards Machman, but quickly identified that feeling, which had him second guessing himself. He started to listen more intently, picking up on the subtle clues as to why Mach is suggesting this in the first place. From what he heard, it seemed like Mach deemed Muse to be important, since she works for Big Boss. From her description, she may be more than just a random entertainer, especially with her supposedly high class and intelligence. Perhaps Mach wanted him to use the opportunity to gather information?
Of course... sir. I guess I could... get to know her...

Mach was relieved with Vector's reaction, it seemed to him that the SP at least partially understood the reason behind all this. He smacked Vector on the back, which actually caused more pain to himself than to Vector.
Alriiiight! That's what I'm talking about, man! Let's find your Muse!

Mach thanked Achilles as the Navi waved them off, then the pair started to walk towards Living Respite, while looking for the Navi known as Muse. The plan was to introduce Vector to Muse, and then Mach would head upstairs to Heaven's Trumpet to blend into the crowd and take the time to glance over the notes.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aera rolled her eyes in response to Mrs. Lucky's very fittingly arrogant statement about the drink. She then raised her eyebrows in a rather convincing look of surprise from Mrs. Lucky's question about Lucky's location, and looked over towards where Lucky was standing before.
Huh? He was still talking with Achilles over there just a moment ago... His tin-can bodyguard isn't there either, what was his name again? It started with a V, I think?

Aera looked over towards Widow and Mrs. Lucky curiously, partially to play out her character, and also to hopefully distract or irritate Mrs. Lucky to go off looking for him, allowing Widow and herself free access to him.
((real life issues were taking up my time. A lot been going on. sorry :x ))

Mmmm, I don't really pay attention to the hired help. Sylk remarked, not thinking about it too hard while taking another sip from the flagon. She was trying to take it easy wit the drink, making it look like she was consuming more than she actually was while only ingesting small doses. While being drunk might bring her some fun, she kept the missions best interests in mind.

That aside... Sylk's crimson gaze shifted its way towards Escort as a sly grin curled on her lips. He's your husband, dear. Shouldn't you keep a better eye on him? Especially after leaving him with such an... interesting man like Achilles. She tried to throw in a clue mentioning the womanizing manager, but kept the relationship between Mrs. Lucky and the mistresses as they should be.

She placed the mug down, leaning her lower back to the edge of the counter as she faced her two female companions. Shouldn't we relax and enjoy ourselves until it's time? Or do you think you have a better idea, hmm?
"Well, I'll go have a chat with our good host, Achilles, and discover where my husband has weaseled off to. You two relax all you want, I really couldn't care less," she finished, then turned and walk back over to question the manager. The two couldn't really follow her too closely now without seeming strange.

--------------------------------

Mach and Vector left the manager and headed to the place he'd described: Living Respite. The area was fairly pleasant seeming, illuminated by low-glowing blue lamps. The floor was carpeted with dark blue shag. Only a few toga-wearing gold navi attendants were around, but there were a few larger men in suits as well. He could only assume that they were hired muscle, but he'd have to make his own conjectures as to why they were stationed here.

The gold navi behind the desk seemed surprised to see two men walk in together, but didn't address it. "Welcome, patron. Big Boss said let all the hostesses be free of charge tonight, but don't spread it around or you'll get less time to yourself. Please select your hostess and we'll herald your arrival..."

A long list of names was given to them. Luckily, Muse wasn't hard to find on the list. After they'd given their indication, he nodded and readied up the room. "You're lucky to find Muse at a time where she's free. She sees a lot of company these days!" he chuckled, then knocked twice on the door. "Muse, sweetie, I've got a man coming in... Just one, I think," he noted, seeing only Vector's sign-in.

"The limit's a few hours. We'll knock if we need the room. Take aaall the time that you like, good sir," the navi informed Vector, then headed back over to the reception desk.

Mach and Vector had a little more time to talk before they parted ways.
Machman and Vector followed the toga-wearing Navi to Muse's room, and notified her that she had a customer. Mach kept a smirk on his face, and slapped Vector on the back again.
Loosen up, and have some fun! I'd personally have her all to myself, but I kinda want a more broad selection of the local broads, you know what I mean? Haha!

Machman laughed as he watched the clerk leave out of the corner of his eye. As soon as he left, and was out of earshot, Mach made sure there were no others, and whispered to Vector.
Gather intel.

He barely gave enough time for Vector to listen to the words before he went back to his boisterous Lucky self.
Don't have too much fun, okay? We still have that meeting to go to.

Vector nodded nervously and silently, he wasn't exactly sure what was going to happen next, which worried him. He would not only likely be exposed to things unbecoming of a knight, and he wouldn't know what sort of condition Mach or Aera would be in. However, he had a mission to complete, and he wouldn't let Mach down.

The pair waited for Muse to appear, hopefully not for too long though.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Aera took another sip of her drink as Mrs. Lucky went off to find Achilles and track down Lucky. As soon as she was gone, she looked over towards Widow.

She might find him first though... or should we wait?
Sylk's finger traced around the rim of her glass as her attention looked towards Aera. She seemed quite intent on looking for Mach above all else, and Sylk felt a little bad even considering telling her not to. Her eyes trailed downward until she saw her own reflection in her drink, taking in her foreign appearance with a sigh.

Alright, we can go check up on our lovely Lucky~ See what kind of mischief he's getting himself into. the glass pressed against her lips as she took one more sip, before gesturing for Aera to lead the way. After you, Avia granting a smile with her words. She shot a quick glance to the bartender, sending him a polite wave for the drink, before awaiting Aera's actions.

Sylk wondered just what they would do once they regrouped with Mach, however. They had quite a bit of time to kill it seemed, and the longer things went on the more of a risk they would be at for being discovered. If they had remained separated from each other for now, they would be under less heat from those around Lucky, at the same time it might look off if his mistress' were gone for too long. It was a bit of a tough situation, in her mind at least. Deep down she was quite nervous about the whole ordeal. She much prefered to fight her way out of any problems. Sylk wasn't used to relying on her words to keep her safe, so this mission was a bit of a new feeling for her.

I'm worrying to much... everything will be fine I'm sure... Her attempt at reassuring her self wasn't completely effective. For the time being she just tried to keep herself from showing signs of the unease she held within. With one more swig of the beverage, she tried to bury the emotion for the time being.
