((From Wrangler's Booth))
A large beam of light crashed down on the network floor, revealing ResQ piloting the ANGEL armor suite, with her new ParaMet SP secured to the ANGEL's right hip. Both ResQ and ParaMet's eyes scanned the field, taking in the sights and more importantly looking for any viral threats.
Alex's voice came in crystal clear over the intercom. ["All systems green, chips on standby. ParaMet, don't dismount yet, we may need to relocate quickly."] ParaMet nodded before it pulled its suppressed bull-pup rifle from under its helmet, and held it at a "low ready" position, careful to point its barrel away from the ANGEL.

ResQ and ParaMet on the hunt
last edited by
ResQ and her new .SP found themselves on one of many squared floating platforms, all connected at various levels by a thin walk way going up or down at each corner. If it could bee seen from a distance, the stacked platforms would resemble a Strato Chess board, of seemingly endless levels. They were currently on the first level, the terrain itself wasn't anything too bothersome. It was mostly flat, level terrain. In the center under the Navi and pal was a small portion of normal panels, completely surrounded by a metallic surface spreading out to the ends of the large board. Every now and then the ground seemed to have gave out, and a small hole was left in its place.
The somewhat basic setting, made for a simple battlefield. In front of ResQ and ParaMet stood three viruses. The leader of the trio was an Ashuraid that came strolling up on it's steel ball. On the leader's left side was an ElecOgre, almost equally impressive on the other side was a shiny silver colored PulseBulb. Behind them about half a movement was a floating green crystal, that possibly held some goodies.
Behind the duo, as if drawn to them for some reason was the hunted Solarite, accompanied by its partner in crime Lunaroid. The two floating rocks let out a mouth less roar as they floated a little closer.
ResQ's first attack was somewhat effective against her targets. The first spike pierced the Navi's bounty costing it a good chunk of damage. The second projectile however.... just missed the Lunaroid as it floated closely behind its rocky partner. Paramet was able to finish off the Solarite with a small attack of its own.
While ResQ took strategic movements, the PulseBulb ignored her and pointed Read the easier target. Dropping it's defense the virus launched itself directly in front of the support program. It's sonar attack connected, leaving Paramet momentarily stunned. As the Navi ran, her wind like barrier managed to deflect one of the fist that cams her way. The attack bounced off of the turbulence and flew into the PulseBulb just as it finished its attack. The other two fist were both aimed at Paramet, neither were able to make contact surprisingly.
ResQ countered the three flying fist by firing a grappling claw at the heavy set enemy. The weapon met its mark, and through net magic itself pulled the virus closer to its user as retracted. Not only was it face to face with ResQ, but slightly stunned from the attacks power. The whole time this was going on the ElecOgre kept its ground. If ResQ were to look closely, she could see a slight glimmer or energy immiting from the virus as it was close to attacking.

AshuraidAshuraid (Ashuraid)
The Ashuraid are a new strain of 6 foot tall semi-humanoid viruses with bodies made of durable metal alloys. Ashuraid viruses lack legs, and instead roll around on a 1 ton solid steel ball 1-foot in diameter that rests in a cupola. Rising from the top of the cupola is an alloy pillar that supports their smooth and curving metal bodies. The key defining feature of Ashuraid viruses are their half dozen free-floating arm segments constructed of an indestructible alloy. Three of these arms feature metallic rights hands, and the other three feature metallic left hands, thus they are differentiated. In combat, the virus will ball these hands up into fists, and launch volleys of rocket punches at their foes. The virus' helmeted head rests upon a short metallic rod-like neck with their faces hidden behind a metallic faceplate. The exception being their mouths, which are generally curved downwards in a permanent frown while in the presence of Navigators. It is speculated that Ashuraid are a hacked derivative of the Bladia viruses spliced together with fragments of other viruses and a healthy dose of battlechip program data. This would account for their size, strength, and malicious nature. Where and how this was possibly accomplished is unknown. Ashuraid viruses move and dodge at better than average speeds, although they rarely choose to dodge at all. Ashuraid viruses are ranged attackers, and prefer to hold the range open against their enemies as melee range attacks with their Impacting abilities generally render Counters useless. Ashuraids attack by launching their six free-floating indestructible alloy arms at one or more enemies in volleys of 3 rocket punches. It takes 3 arms to execute a MeteorKnucke attack, 3 to execute a Counter attack, and all 6 to execute their GiantHook attack. It takes roughly an action of cooldowm time after executing a long distance attack for the arms used in the attack to return to the Ashuraid's side. During this time, they may not execute a Counter Attack if they do not have enough arms available. Ergo if all 6 arms are either being used in an attack, or in cool-down following an attack or counter attack, the Ashuraid cannot use a Counter. The rest of their attacks do not require their arms to return to their side. The return feature is automatic, and does not require actions to perform. Ashuraid can move while attacking or defending, and are allowed to counter while dodging if enough arms are available. Setting a counter requires an action while executing one does not. Ashuraid are extremely heavy viruses that will sink like the lead weights they are in liquid, and they know it. They will avoid liquid terrain entirely, if possible, and will never appear near these types of naturally occurring terrain for this reason. Only an Ashuraid's body is damageable. Striking an Ashuraid's floating arms will not damage the virus or the arms themselves, no matter what you hit them with. The Ashuraids will not intentionally defend themselves with their arms outside of their Counter ability, which is nullified by Impact. Do not abuse this.
Area: Sharo, NAXA
HP: 100
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 5 Null + Impact + Break x 3 Fists
Primary Attack Accuracy: B
Primary Attack Description: Launches three rocket fists at distant opponents. Each fist may target individually, meaning multi-hit and/or multi-target both work up to a max of 3 punches.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: Counter vs Damage: 5 Null + Impact + Break x 2 Hits
Secondary Attack Accuracy: S (Block) / B (Counter)
Secondary Attack Description: Uses a trio of fists to block a non-Impact attack while executing a double punch counterstrike. Only two Counters may be active at any given time, and the virus must be physically able to execute a counter in order to use one. Counters work at any range. An action is required to set this effect, but no actions are required to execute the Counter when triggered, as it is automatic. Impact attacks nullify this Counter ability.
Tertiary Attack Damage/Effect: 5 Null + Impact + Break + LifeSword Range x 2 Attacks
Tertiary Attack Accuracy: B
Tertiary Attack Description: Sweeps the field with a salvo of flying fists from the left, and then the right. Does not damage friendlies, and may be executed at any range. The virus cannot use Counters while executing this attack.

ResQ's introduction to the network's denizens was sudden, but not unexpected. ResQ instinctively widened her stance and pointed her left arm and hand forward, which the ANGEL mimicked with its own, though its hand consisted of a three-fingered claw. ParaMet snapped its mini rifle forward, and shifted his aim amongst the three viruses ahead; the Met couldn't see ResQ's holographic "radar" display, which had two additional blips behind their position. ["You're surrounded,"] Alex cautioned with a slightly raised voice as he grabbed his chips. ResQ's eyes darted to the display, then back to the viruses ahead, before hissing back "No shit, send me something."
As soon as she finished, she got the notification of the TwinFang's upload. ["Tangos at your six have beams, engage them first!"] Alex ordered, which prompted ParaMet to disable the clamp on its right foot, allowing it to turn slightly to the right and swing its bullpup rifle back to draw a bead on the Solarite. ResQ had a strong dislike for being ordered around, but Alex's plan made sense, and he hadn't steered her wrong yet thus far. Her right hand made a gesture like she was holding an invisible pistol, while the ANGEL held a very real one; the weapon was shaped like a double-barreled semi-automatic pistol, with both of its needle-like projectiles extending just slightly past the ends of the gun's circular barrels.
ResQ planted the ANGEL's left foot before rotating 90 degrees to the right, its right foot kicked up sparks as it dragged in an arc, while her right arm swung outwards to point the weapon back towards the approaching celestial body-inspired viruses. ParaMet adjusted itself to keep its rifle pointed at the viruses as the ANGEL turned, and re-acquired a clear shot on the Solarite. ResQ lined up her targets as well, the first being the Solarite, then fired. The weapon had surprisingly light recoil considering the significantly large spike that rocketed towards the virus, so ResQ had no trouble aiming towards its twin before firing the second and last "fang." ParaMet followed up with a shot of its own, which was so quiet and inconspicuous, ResQ briefly didn't know what the subdued *crack* sound was, or where it came from.
After firing the second shot, ResQ dropped the pistol and allowed it to clatter to the floor before disintegrating. She then bolted forward, in an attempt to dash away from incoming fire, which she hoped could subsequently hit the opposite group of viruses, since her dash was parallel between the two "fronts" of viruses now at her sides. As she lurched forward, she extended her left arm out to her side and towards the trio of viruses, with her palm facing out with her fingers spread. The ANGEL's claw snapped open, and a burst of pressurized air blasted forth from its center, in an attempt to form a kinetic barrier. It wasn't her first rodeo; ResQ knew it would do nothing against the ElecOgre's lightning or the PulseBulb's sonic attacks, but it could possibly cause the multi-armed Ashuraid's rocket fists to be glanced away or even deflected back to its allies.
The powerful burst of air didn't last long, but her claw remained open and pointed towards the viral trio. ResQ glared towards the Ashuraid as she pointed the tips of her fingers forward as if they were claws. She aimed her left arm, thus aiming the claw, towards the Ashuraid before she rotated her hand 180degrees. This triggered the trio of boosters at the base of the claw's wrist, causing the entire assembly to rocket towards the Ashuraid. She attempted to bash the claw into the virus, with the hope of leaving the foe briefly disoriented, even though she didn't anticipate the cable and winch were strong enough to drag the heavy virus towards her. Regardless if she hit her target or not, the cable was rapidly retracted by the winch housed in the ANGEL's upper arm, and retrieved the claw which seated back in its housing with a heavy metal *thud*.

ResQ's first attack was somewhat effective against her targets. The first spike pierced the Navi's bounty costing it a good chunk of damage. The second projectile however.... just missed the Lunaroid as it floated closely behind its rocky partner. Paramet attempted to finish off the weaker Solarite with a small attack of its own, but it just whiffed right above the target's head.
Before ResQ took strategic movements, the PulseBulb dropped it's defense, and launched itself directly in front of the Navi. It's sonar attack connected with both ResQ and ParaMet leaving a lingering buzzing feeling running through their bodies. Then the Navi took off while her wind like barrier managed to deflect one of the fist that cams her way.
Unfortunately the buzzing feeling seemed to over power then leaving them stunned as well.

Element: Null
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): MeteorKnuckle1, Counter1, Zenny
Special: SuperArmor: Immunity to Knockback, Microburst, Pull, Gravity, and similar effects.
Special: HardCase: Damage is reduced by half until hit with a Break attack, at which time this effect is nullified and they take standard damage. Break does not deal extra damage.: 80 HP In front and to the left of ResQ/ParaMet (Metal, Stunned)

Unfortunately the buzzing feeling seemed to over power then leaving them stunned as well. The whole time this was going on the ElecOgre kept its ground. If ResQ were to look closely, she could see a slight glimmer or energy immiting from the virus as it was close to attacking.

As both ParaMet and the ANGEL started to seize up from the electrical overload, with ResQ groaning through her gritted teeth, Alex realized just how dire their situation had become. They were surrounded and still outnumbered, and their arsenal didn't have enough firepower to deal with their heavily armored and/or flying enemies. ["Damnit,"] Alex swore under his breath as he ordered a full retreat.
ResQ and ParaMet received the notification, prompting ResQ to grind her teeth as she tried to bring the machine back online. Once she managed to get the ANGEL back in her control, she attempted to put enough distance between the viruses and herself to be safely jacked out.

Off-balance and slightly overwhelmed by the unexpectedly dangerous group of enemies, ResQ drew back and beat a hasty retreat, her new ally coming along for the ride. Behind them, a bursting scatter of electrical bolts exploded out from the charged up virus, but the navi and her SP managed to get far enough away that none of the bolts traced to either of them. Soon, the hostiles were out of site and ResQ had a chance to regroup and get her bearings.
