One Giant Leap for Jellykind

With Reverus's jumplink, Eternalis and Aurora beamed into the network, and were instantly held at awe by the expansive scenery. "They really put some effort into the design," commented Aurora, putting her hands on her hips as she surveyed her surroundings. "Yeah, it's not hard to just sit here and look around. Of course, we're not going to find any viruses that way. Let's go," replied Eternalis, to Aurora's agreement, as they settled off, completely forgetting their last companion for the moment.

Eternalis and Aurora braved the newly opened NAXA network, despite the huge elemental disadvantage it proved to the navi. Myriad of hovering roads and platforms filled up the NAXA network sky, literally as far as the eye can see, but the two only found themselves trekking along the lone, ground level floor.

It wasn't long before they came across the familiar viruses...Rather, two pairs of UNfamiliar ones. The viruses were staring down at one another, contorting their faces as much as they could as some sort of a contest. The robotic virus seemed to have little to no trouble with the contest with its mechanical face, while the floating, alien like virus scowled even more than they use to.

The contest was shortly cut off when the viruses realized that they were being watched by Eternalis, quickly turning to face the navi in order to eradicate him and his SP as quickly as they can...Just so they can save themselves from the utter embarrassments!

"Oh, that's just Sparky. SP I was building for the last few days," said Harke in response to the dozing puppy on the coffee table. "Adorable," muttered Reverus, tilting his head about to examine Sparky's armored build. "... Bit of a weird color scheme. I'll have to talk to you about that later. Gotta have good design these days," he commented further.

Meanwhile, in the Net, the duo happened upon the strange "contest" between the viruses. "... What the heck are they doing?" quipped Eternalis, tilting his head to the side as he and Aurora watched the strange face contortions of the viruses. "Kind of looks like a frowning contest," replied Aurora, who was already tapping the side of her visor, with the heads-up display on it scanning the viruses' statistics for her. "Electrical affinity. Boomerang, Harke?" said Aurora. "Okay," approved Harke, sending the SP her chip.

"Eh, I don't know what I want. Maybe some brute force stuff?" muttered Eternalis. Harke shuffled through his folder, flipping through the highest damage numbers available that was stored inside. "I'll send you some AquaTower and WindRacket. Should be enough to burst down most of them," said Harke. "Sounds fine, send it over," replied Eternalis. The clanking of the chips being sent into the PET was heard, and it didn't take long for Eternalis to start fitting in the chips into his armor system.

"Let's go," said Aurora, who was already materializing her Boomerang in her hand. The metal implement shone in the lighting, reflecting Eternalis' face for a moment before he disappeared into thin air. Aurora smirked, and whipped the weapon in her hand about for a moment, before throwing it in a wide arc towards the viruses, which would hopefully slice them apart. Her next response was to scan the immediate area for attacks, with the glowing road beneath her providing extra mobility to her attacks, thanks to her affinity.

While the boomerang was in flight, Eternalis appeared behind the viruses to flank them. His arm-outputs shifted around rapidly, transforming into huge gauntlets, equipped with tubes whipping out from his torso armor. Landing with a crash, he punched down onto the ground, releasing a huge amount of water into it, which erupted in a massive geyser beneath the viruses' location.

"Second wave!" he announced loudly, as his arms returned to normal, and he performed a roundhouse kick at the teeth-bearing Grinners. A razor wind gathered at his foot, augmenting the attack with a devastating gale that would certainly bring them down immediately. Leaping backwards, he looked about for any attacks that were possibly going his way. From the looks of things, both types of viruses looked like they could give him a nice shock.

Eternalis hung his arms after he saw the viruses being exterminated right before his eyes, just as he was about to attack them. "... Oh, come on!" he said, throwing up his arms in the air. Aurora said nothing and beamed like everything, putting a finger to her cheek and winking as innocently as she could. "Sorry~" she said, as she skipped past Eternalis, and patted him on his shoulder once. It didn't really have the effect of making him feel any better, but he recovered quickly enough.

"Hahaha! Well, isn't that just peachy!" said Reverus, guffawing loudly as he saw Aurora's one-hit-KO attack that flew across the board with flawless victory. His son joined him in amusement, though a little less so, with only a small chuckle. "Better luck next time, Et?" he smiled. "Hey, don't you give me that. After the rather easy battle, Eteralis and Aurora continued with their trip around the NAXA Net. They found one of the gate that led them up to the floating roads, but yet another group of viruses were standing in the way. A pair of large cubes, followed by a line of rear turrets blocked off the way, but something as easy as this wouldn't be too much trouble, right?

"Oh, looks like we finally found the main entrance," said Aurora, craning her head upwards to see how far the ramp up went. The entryway was nice, but she wanted to see what kind of interesting constructs NAXA would have up there in store for them. "Wonder what other kind of viruses we're going to see. Those two at the front seemed pretty weird. Kinda fits the space thing, though. Maybe there's more like them," said Eternalis, before glancing at the viruses before them.

"These look more standard fare than anything else," said Aurora, analyzing their enemies with her visor. "I'll let you get first chip pick, since I feel bad for that boomerang throw," she chuckled, resulting in a huff and a roll of the eyes from Eternalis. The Navi crossed his arms, and tapped his boot on the floor. The clanking of the metal beneath his feet reverberated in his head for a moment before he realized something, and snapped his fingers. "Harke, DashAttack, DollThunder," he requested.

"Not bad. I'll throw in a Boomerang, too. That earlier throw was great, Aurora," said Harke, picking up the chips one by one and slotting them into the chip input. "Thank you, Harke," said Aurora, looking at Eternalis and giving him a knowing smirk. "Oh, give me that," he said, snatching the Boomerang from the chip queue. Loading up the DashAttack into his processes, his armor shifted about to equip the blob-like Navi with razor-sharp attachments and thrusters abound. Moments later, he was speeding off towards the back of the viruses.

Aurora seemed quite amused by it all, putting up a hand to cover her smile. "What'll it be for the lady, then?" said Harke, before being interrupted by his father, who took the initiative by slotting in one of the previous chips. "Oops, hand slipped," said Reverus after the WindRacket registered in Aurora's processes. "You're a really clumsy old man, dad," teased Harke. The younger of the two received a pinched cheek and a malicious grin. "Watch that mouth of yours, I'm not that old yet," retorted Reverus.

The SP couldn't help but laugh as she whipped out the WindRacket's membrane-like form, spreading it out to form the fan that was imprinted on its pictoral description. Dashing up to the cubes, she swung her fan quickly to release a concentrated burst of win, then leapt back to her original position. Letting the fan disintegrate, she readied herself for counterattacks.

Meanwhile, the blue one of the duo stopped his dash at the side of the turret line, and pointed his palm at the viruses. A blob of fluid separated itself from his hand, glowing yellow and arcing with large electrical sparks. Soon after, the blob released a powerful crackle of lightning down the line, hopefully enhanced by the metal flooring and destroying them all.

Keeping his movement strong and sustained, he circled about the back of the turret line now, and grasped one of his hands with the other. Pulling it out of its socket, the arm extended comically into an arc, eventually separating from his real arm and forming a boomerang shape from his blue self. The weapon retained its shape fairly easily as he swung it about the turrets back the the cubes. After his attacks, he still kept himself mobile to ward off any unwanted interruption.

"Now that's more like it," said Eternalis, looking over at Aurora, who was walking over to him. Their hands met in a quick high-five as she passed him, and the Navi turned around. "Good teamwork," said Aurora, as they walked up the ramp to the floating roadways of NAXA Net's top half.

Back in the real world, Sparky was roused to wake with all the noises of battle. "Oh, the little guy's awake," said Reverus, pointing out the puppy's tiny stretching hologram. Sparky gave a little friendly yap upon seeing Harke, but stopped when he saw Reverus' big, unshorn face. The operator gave a little nod, and the SP responded in kind, acknowledging the father.

The Navi and SP stopped warily at the end of the ramp, not particularly interested in getting too close. The ElecOgres released excess electricity through their horns, the action making them look even more threatening. Suddenly, the ambient discharge from one ElecOgre jumped straight to the horn of another! The viruses panicked and bumped into each other, the turmoil causing stray bolts to fly everywhere. Eternalis and Aurora had to shield their eyes with their hands as the sizable group of viruses burst brightly into junk data one by one. By the time it was over only a few viruses remained, somewhat humbled and now much more aware of the dangers of gathering many conductors in the close proximity of a walkway.

BATTLE 3... START?
"No, I don't think he does any tricks. Never did program any into him," said Harke, propping his chin up with his hand. Maybe Sparky could use some tricks? He'd never thought about it. Pets weren't welcome in the residences, nor at home, unlike PETs, so he'd never looked up on how to actually take care of one. "Well, that's a pretty impressive trick, anyway," said Reverus, pointing at Sparky. Harke looked up, and scratched his head as he watched Sparky fly about the couch, barking in his excitement. "I don't think any dog could do that trick," he said, chuckling.

Meanwhile, Eternalis and Aurora encountered the very unwelcoming welcome party at the entrance of one of the roadways of NAXA Net. "That doesn't look too good," commented Aurora, with her visor taking in a total virus count of... "Seventeen signatures? No, wait, sixteen," reported Aurora, counting off the various info callouts that appeared on her HUD. "It'll be fine. We'll get through--" said Eternalis, before the ogres' light show started up.

With sparks of electrical mayhem flying everywhere, both of the programs retreated slightly, covering their eyes to shield from the high-powered lights. Aurora's visor started registering large numbers of chained damage before she simply turned off the display, trying to block out the event from her eyes. Soon, the sixteen-strong group of electrically-aligned viruses was reduced to a paltry six.

"Pfft--" "Snrk--"

Aurora put both of her hands up to her mouth, while Eternalis just crossed his arms, as the amusement of the situation set in. They restrained their laughter for some reason, probably competing against each other as to who would burst first. In the end, they ended up in a tie, and laughed their figurative backsides off. "What, hey, what'd I miss?" chimed in Harke, who was just paying attention. The electrical interference had cut off the audio for a moment, so he didn't hear anything happen.

"No, no, nothing, just... give us some chips," said Aurora, wiping off a tear of mirth from her cheek as she was the first to regain her composure. "All right, I guess... Looks like you guys'll want some area-wide attacks?" said Harke, shrugging it off. Eternalis recollected himself soon after, and looked through the registered folder data. "Hahaha... ah, well, I guess I'll take PhoenixShot, WideShot, WindRacket, and Boomerang," he rattled off.

"That's a nice list. Up for some overkill?" said Harke, scanning in the chips one by one. Eternalis replied conscisely with a thumbs up, and a "You bet." As the Navi started loading up his queue with his attacks, Reverus snatched up one of the chips on the table, and slotted it in. The Scarecrow's image slid through the screen, and registered on Aurora's processes. "Dad, come on," complained Harke. "Being a spectator is boring," said Reverus, gesturing to Aurora to move onwards.

"Thank you, Reverus," smirked Aurora. Eternalis turned to his SP, and said, "Just pick off any of them that you want." Both of his arm-outputs had already shifted themselves into the oft-seen triple-barreled cannon configuration. The barrels rotated with audible clicks as the battlechips charged up inside them, and Eternalis lifted them up to bear. Brilliant displays of blue and red exited the barrels, heading for the DarkMechs intent to delete.

A short moment later, the blue warrior leapt up into the air, and his form vanished into the ether. Immediately, he reappeared behind the viruses, and in place of his hands, two big curved shapes formed themselves out of his fluid body. One of them glowed green, and he whipped it to the left, letting it fly about before heading for the ogre viruses. The DarkMechs were on the receiving end of the other curved shape. It solidified to form a large fan, which he swung through the air, making a sonic crash, which would probably smack the viruses out to the next network.

Meanwhile, Aurora stood by with her DollThunder, charging up a surge of electrical power within her palms. Should there be any stragglers, she planned to take them out with impunity. "Come on, leave one out for me..." she muttered, lining up the viruses with her visor's targeting systems.

Eternalis began to firing a one-two shot with his gun, but the DarkMechs had an undeniably fast reaction to the upcoming attacks. In a blink of an eye, two of the Darkmechs were deleted with one seriously wounded, but at the same time, the jelly navi had received a cut wound from the viruses' last effort [15 + 20].

Still feeling confident after the previous battles, Eternalis did not stop his attack when he teleported behind the ElecOgres and unleashed the boomerang upon them. The first one was lucky, the rest wasn't...It began to charge its horn slowly as it nervously looked up at the watery (jello...y?) navi.

The rest of the surviving viruses...Well, they never stood a chance after they exhausted their actions, leaving a clear path for the navi and his SP to move along!

"Oh, hey, they got me," said Eternalis, twitching slightly as his regenerative processes kicked in, wiping any trace of the DarkMech's blade having ever touched him at all. Laughing, he gave Aurora a thumbs-up. "That was a great shot," complimented Eternalis. The SP flung her hair about, turning off the display on her visor for a moment. "Nothing less than the best," she said, smiling as she walked forward, joining her Navi in exploring the depths of the network further.

Meanwhile, Reverus's attention had wavered from interrupting Harke's operating to Sparky's flying. "I wonder..." the man said to himself in a bout of curiosity. "Harke, what's the dog's name?" he asked. "Uhh, Sparky. Why, do you want to tell him to do circus tricks or something?" inquired Harke, his forehead creasing as he wondered what strangeness his father was going to do. The road had taken the two into a converging path, where two smaller roads were aligned with the bigger path Eternalis was currently taking. Though it seemed like the road was finally pinpointing to a single point, you guessed it, viruses were in the way and they were looking for a fight!

Pairs of Magtecs resided on the side roads, while a group of alien-like viruses stood directly against Eternalis and Aurora. The miniature robots looked at the jellonavi with detest in its mechanical eyes, not favoring the live, organic appearance of the navi over the cold, cut, mechanical the viruses had themselves.

"All right, Sparky," said Reverus, sitting on the chair next to Harke. The dog halted in mid-air, tilting his head as he heard his name being called. Reverus traced out a few circles in the air in front of the dog repeatedly. The little armored pup followed Reverus' fingers for a few seconds before barking in what appeared to be understanding, and started doing loop-de-loops. Harke's face twisted about in a bit of disbelief as he saw Sparky follow his father's unspoken "flight training" with enthusiasm.

"Didn't think he'd actually do it, mind," said Reverus, catching his son's train of thought easily. The man then had Sparky land on the table with a sweep of his finger, at which point he broke into laughter. "Fantastic! Great job, boy," he laughed. "Arf! Arf!" barked Sparky enthusiastically, while Harke just sort of looked at both of them sideways, wondering if he should be amazed or intimidated by their seemingly psychic linkage. He resorted to simply watching the battle, while his father got acquainted with the little pup.

Eternalis and Aurora were walking about in the NAXA network, strolling down one of the many branches of the main upper road. "Wonder where all these other roads go," said Eternalis, following a platform to their side with his eyes down into a separate obscured level, making him wonder what was there. Aurora looked off to the side, shrugging as she, too, did the same. "Probably some kind of research area, I guess? It is NAXA, after all," she commented, looking up at the brilliant background of stars.

Eventually, some of the road branches converged into a larger singular road, which was guarded rather jealously by some floaty viruses. "Whoa, Broadside viruses," said Eternalis, drawing back a little as his regenerative processes started up, patching the internal damages from his last battle. "This doesn't look too good. We're surrounded by electric-elements," said Aurora, sending in some info through her visor to her Navi.

Just then, Harke chimed in. "I'm kind of suspicious of that flying disc one. There's only one of it around, it's gotta have something pretty powerful. Take it down quick?" said the operator. "Hmm... Let me have the Boomerang this time, Harke? Someone else's had his fun the last two times they used it," said Aurora, patching in the request. Eternalis turned to his SP immediately following this request. "What, no way--" he balked, before being interrupted by a tiny electrical shock. "Ow, okay, okay, fine!"

Harke chuckled as he slotted in a few chips, making sure to steal a few glances at his father, who was having an inordinate amount of fun with Sparky. A little pang of jealousy struck him as he put in the last of the four chips he had, with a grim black apparition as its description picture. "ZapRings, Boomerang, and a little bit of something else," he said, quite sure of his selection.

"Again, go for the UFO. I don't like the looks of it," the operator said, with the transfer finished. "Will do!" said Eternalis, as his arms charged themselves immediately after the battlechip loadout. Acting quickly, he formed a couple of charged blobs of fluid in his hand, and threw them both at the UFO. The blobs reformed themselves into two arcing rings, whizzing through the air as they headed for the UFO.

Meanwhile, as the Navi showed off some stunning moves, Aurora was analyzing the relative positions of the MagTect, the Boomerang materializing in her hand as she did so. A short while later, she found a good angle, and turned on her heel to launch the metallic implement across the the roads, hopefully snagging all of them in a neat arc as she calculated. She defaulted afterwards to making sure that she wasn't in the way of any stray attacks that might go her way.

Eternalis didn't neglect to find the last chip in his queue after launching his attacks; a small chip with the ID of "Shadow1". As he activated it, the fluid blue form of his body spread over the entirety of his appearance, and shifted his countenance to one that was completely translucent. "Whoa, cool," he said, noticing that his body was fluctuating with its shape even more than before. "Shadow should keep you off the hook from most damage sources until it wears off," explained Harke.

"Awesome," replied Eternalis, waiting to examine his newfound invincibility.

Eternalis flung his 'charged load' (*snicker*) towards the flying UFO, catching and deleting the virus with the first ZapRing as the second one simply flew off into the sky. The miniature super robot at the center road was quick to try its revenge on its fallen brethren, grabbing the small gap on its chest with both its hand and literally ripped its chest plates open to reveal a giant hole. The hole extended forward as powerful electricity began to charge, firing it towards Eternalis in a blink of an eye.

It was too late for the blue navi, as the electric laser blasted through his watery body before he could activate his shadowy defense. Even if he was protected from now on...He suffered lethal damage from a single hit. [-90 (30 x 300%)]

Aurora, on the other hand, flung her trusty boomerang at the surrounding Magtecs with an impressive degree of technique. The boomerang cut through the two Magtecs on the left road, but barely managed to bring down just one on the right road, leaving but a single virus in its wake. Now, the lone Magtec wanted to exact...Well, revenge, like every other viruses so far, and began to ready its giant magnet.

Even when she tried to move out of the way, Aurora was dragged across the gap by the virus and received a hard hit by the magnet, sending powerful electricity through her body to paralyze her!

"Argh!" As the super robot's torso cannon blazed through Eternalis's body like a hot knife through butter, he recoiled before the Shadow battlechip took effect. The large hole left on his body from the laser beam churned about violently before some preliminary repairs were done, courtesy of his regenerative processes. The hole was repaired completely soon after, but the internal damage would take longer. A slight glow infused Eternalis with a slight boost to his regeneration as well.

"Hope that's going to heal," said Harke, slotting in a couple of chips to aid his Navi. He'd learned how stubborn Eternalis was, even faced with ridiculous odds, so he tried to adapt to that and lessen his worries. Even so, he couldn't really stop it completely. Looking sideways at his father, the man was still keeping himself occupied with leading Sparky around his pinky finger in a complicated flight pattern.

"Tsk, don't worry about me. Nothing can cut me down!" said Eternalis, loading up the WindRacket into his systems. Dashing forward, he leapt into the air, channeling the chip data into his boots, and delivered a flying roundhouse kick towards the super robots. The kick was augmented with a sudden gale of wind, which would knock far more than the wind out of the viruses.

After that, his attention shifted towards the MagTect, which had held Aurora hostage with its magnetic attacks. "Get away from her!" he exclaimed, the electrical sparks from his hands igniting his resolve. Using the magnet virus's attraction against it, Eternalis directed his hands' charges towards the MagTect in order to pull it over to him and give it a nice counter-shocking.

The two super robot viruses was quickly cut down by Eternalis' slashing kick, deleting them before one of them could even get the chance to attack. But when the watery navi continued his attack with his MagBolt, a horrible accident occurred...As the magnetic pull began to drag towards the navi, it had pulled Aurora into the attack's range rather than the virus itself, shocking the SP instead!

Thankfully, Aurora was barely able to survive the accident...But the lone Magtect was still live and well!

"... Oh, hell," swore Eternalis, as his still-charged hands held onto a barely-conscious Aurora, who was currently spasming erratically in his grasp. Hastily cutting off the battlechip's process, he immediately shifted it to his regenerative powers. Aurora's spasms stopped quickly as the healing worked its magic, coursing through her body and restoring her functions. At the end, she was glowing slightly with a blue hue, and fell to the ground in front of him.

"That went well. I'm sure she liked that," said Harke, rolling his eyes and sorting through his chips, giving Eternalis more than enough muscle to obliterate the remaining MagTect. "Shut up," retorted Eternalis. The Navi's arms gleamed blue as the battlechips were loaded in, and he crouched to assess the MagTect's position quickly. The arm-outputs began to emit a thick white mist, and he leapt into the air, his form disappearing from sight. Meanwhile, Aurora regained her senses, and struggled to her feet.

"Aurora? You all right?" asked Harke, to which Aurora raised a hand in quick denial, and pressed her temples with the other. The raised hand then lowered down to her side, and started to glow with a familiar yellow light. Meanwhile, Eternalis reappeared above the MagTect, with two frosty fists at the ready to crash down onto the MagTect with a cold smash. At that moment, the SP's eyes gleamed with rage, and she threw a couple charged balls of energy at the Navi in a fit of anger. "See how you like it!!" she screamed out.

The Navi, of course, managed to turn at the source of the yell, and with a surprised "Whoa!", barely managed to command his feet to whisk about, trying to avoid the two shots being fired at him. Fortunately, he was still in range of the MagTect, and proceeded to unload some more attacks on it. A geyser of water burst out of the shining road, and a swing of his ice-coated fist probably took care of the problem.
