Zero-Degree Zombie

[>> Recruited to Rampage - Bounty Shop.]

A transfer pad in the middle of the frosty Sharo network glowed momentarily, before a purple bandage-covered Navi stepped through. Though the snowfall was looking quite fierce, and the temperatures shockingly low, Scourge showed no sign of being affected as she surveyed the area. Oddly enough, she seemed rather happy about being dropped in the middle of the coldest network in the world. "Looks like I won't be running into anyone here anytime soon," she grinned, tracking through the snow in bare feet as she began to search for viral targets to engage.

[Battle 1 - Ready. Bounty Set: Null: 100HP.]
[Scourge.EXE: 170 HP.]
As scourge began on her way to slaughter viruses left and right after her encounter with the wayvern-bat kind, the fields of sharo as bleak and icy as she would have hoped. Before long, avoiding falling into a missing panel to the side of her, she came across a various group of viruses. A metal menace behind a large snow mound that barely covered even a quarter of it's hulking frame, an oozing virus behind it as it dripped it's body onto the ice below it, a Cragger to the side of the metal monster on a patch of ice, a Shrimp towards the edge of the battlefield and, finally, a crab in a whirlpool as it moved in front of her, giving what could only be the aproximation of "Fuck you" in it's native tongue. It was clobberin time.

-- Viruses --
AshuraidAshuraid (Ashuraid)

The Ashuraid are a new strain of 6 foot tall semi-humanoid viruses with bodies made of durable metal alloys. Ashuraid viruses lack legs, and instead roll around on a 1 ton solid steel ball 1-foot in diameter that rests in a cupola. Rising from the top of the cupola is an alloy pillar that supports their smooth and curving metal bodies. The key defining feature of Ashuraid viruses are their half dozen free-floating arm segments constructed of an indestructible alloy. Three of these arms feature metallic rights hands, and the other three feature metallic left hands, thus they are differentiated. In combat, the virus will ball these hands up into fists, and launch volleys of rocket punches at their foes. The virus' helmeted head rests upon a short metallic rod-like neck with their faces hidden behind a metallic faceplate. The exception being their mouths, which are generally curved downwards in a permanent frown while in the presence of Navigators. It is speculated that Ashuraid are a hacked derivative of the Bladia viruses spliced together with fragments of other viruses and a healthy dose of battlechip program data. This would account for their size, strength, and malicious nature. Where and how this was possibly accomplished is unknown. Ashuraid viruses move and dodge at better than average speeds, although they rarely choose to dodge at all. Ashuraid viruses are ranged attackers, and prefer to hold the range open against their enemies as melee range attacks with their Impacting abilities generally render Counters useless. Ashuraids attack by launching their six free-floating indestructible alloy arms at one or more enemies in volleys of 3 rocket punches. It takes 3 arms to execute a MeteorKnucke attack, 3 to execute a Counter attack, and all 6 to execute their GiantHook attack. It takes roughly an action of cooldowm time after executing a long distance attack for the arms used in the attack to return to the Ashuraid's side. During this time, they may not execute a Counter Attack if they do not have enough arms available. Ergo if all 6 arms are either being used in an attack, or in cool-down following an attack or counter attack, the Ashuraid cannot use a Counter. The rest of their attacks do not require their arms to return to their side. The return feature is automatic, and does not require actions to perform. Ashuraid can move while attacking or defending, and are allowed to counter while dodging if enough arms are available. Setting a counter requires an action while executing one does not. Ashuraid are extremely heavy viruses that will sink like the lead weights they are in liquid, and they know it. They will avoid liquid terrain entirely, if possible, and will never appear near these types of naturally occurring terrain for this reason. Only an Ashuraid's body is damageable. Striking an Ashuraid's floating arms will not damage the virus or the arms themselves, no matter what you hit them with. The Ashuraids will not intentionally defend themselves with their arms outside of their Counter ability, which is nullified by Impact. Do not abuse this.

Area: Sharo, NAXA

HP: 100
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 5 Null + Impact + Break x 3 Fists
Primary Attack Accuracy: B
Primary Attack Description: Launches three rocket fists at distant opponents. Each fist may target individually, meaning multi-hit and/or multi-target both work up to a max of 3 punches.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: Counter vs Damage: 5 Null + Impact + Break x 2 Hits
Secondary Attack Accuracy: S (Block) / B (Counter)
Secondary Attack Description: Uses a trio of fists to block a non-Impact attack while executing a double punch counterstrike. Only two Counters may be active at any given time, and the virus must be physically able to execute a counter in order to use one. Counters work at any range. An action is required to set this effect, but no actions are required to execute the Counter when triggered, as it is automatic. Impact attacks nullify this Counter ability.
Tertiary Attack Damage/Effect: 5 Null + Impact + Break + LifeSword Range x 2 Attacks
Tertiary Attack Accuracy: B
Tertiary Attack Description: Sweeps the field with a salvo of flying fists from the left, and then the right. Does not damage friendlies, and may be executed at any range. The virus cannot use Counters while executing this attack.
Element: Null
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): MeteorKnuckle1, Counter1, Zenny
Special: SuperArmor: Immunity to Knockback, Microburst, Pull, Gravity, and similar effects.
Special: HardCase: Damage is reduced by half until hit with a Break attack, at which time this effect is nullified and they take standard damage. Break does not deal extra damage.

Area: Yoka, Beach, Sharo

HP: 90
Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Aqua x 3 targets
Attack Accuracy: C
Attack Description: Tries to spin into you along a boomerang shaped path.
Element: Aqua
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): AquaWhirl1, Zenny
Special: Omnishoes. Cannot fly into high altitude.
: 90 HP (Ice, in front of Scourge)
CraggerCragger (Cragger)

Craggers are pretty easy targets, given their size. They also move very rarely, and when they do they move slowly. Their dodge rate is abysmal. They generally rely on their HardBody defense, which reduces non-break damage by half, but doubles break damage. They have high attack power and AoE, but their accuracy is generally bad as their attacks are easy to follow and take time to deliver. Their attack is executed as a Drop Attack, and thus attacks from above, and not head-on. Targets caught underground within this attack's AoE range take an additional 50 Null damage that ignores all defenses.

Area: Netopia, Sharo, Hades Isle

HP: 120
Attack Damage/Effect: 30 Null + Break + Panel Break + WideAttack
Attack Accuracy: D
Attack Description: Slams the enemy and surrounding area with fist. This is executed as a Drop Attack, and is more damaging to targets below ground (IE: Submerged or burrowed).
Element: None.
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): GolemHit1, Zenny
Special: Hardbody.
: 120 HP (Ice, towards the middle, right next to the cracked)
ShrimpyShrimpy (Shrimpy)

Shrimpy viruses are able to move between attacks as a free action, however dodging still costs them an action. They must pause movement to attack. Shrimpy viruses may move over fragile panel types without damaging them, such as moving over Cracked panels without breaking them. Shrimpy viruses cannot be forcibly submerged or smashed through fragile panels, even if thrown. They can submerge of their own free will, however.

Area: Yoka, Beach, Sharo

NullNull (Null&Void)

Null&Void viruses are extremely dangerous top tier viruses. No player should encounter one until at least battle 6. Null&Void viruses move and dodge at an average rate by walking normally, but they also teleport before and after executing their melee attack. They regenerate half of their HP every action and their vortexes have the ability to instantly destroy objects and EJO or delete victims instantly with Gravity Crush. Their strategy revolves entirely around forcing an enemy into a vortex, and their attack choices will always be something that furthers that goal if possible. If not, they will settle for using objects and the terrain to damage or hinder the enemy. They are intelligent enough to use their abilities to cause a great deal more havoc than the average virus.

Area: Sharo, NAXA

HP: 100
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: Set 2x Panel Trap: (10 Aqua + Gravity Crush 50 + Object Erasure)
Primary Attack Accuracy: E
Primary Attack Description: Automatically creates two whirlpools on the field. Each whirlpool takes up one panel, and remains there until either something moves into it or until the end of the turn, whichever comes first. This attack may only be executed once per turn at the beginning of every turn, and does not require an action on the part of the virus. Whirlpools never appear over Missing Terrain and cannot be summoned on Broken Terrain. Terrain changes have no effect on whirlpools, at all, as they have been known to float in mid air over even Broken Panels once they have been summoned.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: (Teleport) then (10 Aqua + Impact + Knockback)
Secondary Attack Accuracy: B
Secondary Attack Description: Teleports next to an enemy or object, and pushes them suddenly. If it is an enemy, they will try to push them into the nearest Whirlpool, or at least towards it. If it is an Object, the virus will push it at the nearest enemy. They teleport back to their starting position after the attack ends.
Tertiary Attack Damage/Effect: 10 Aqua + Piercing + Altitude Change
Tertiary Attack Accuracy: D
Tertiary Attack Description: Generates a gravity ball and throws it in a straight line. The gravity ball travels slowly, but will pass through anything that stands in its path. It also forces enemies in High Altitude and Burrowed/Submerged enemies to ground level, regardless of their position on the field.
Element: Aqua
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): GravityHold1, Whirlpool (Rare), Zenny
Special: Gravity Crush: Instantly defeats any target with HP at or below the numeric value. Undershirt will not prevent this effect from working. If the target would survive Gravity Crush damage, they instead only take the base Aqua damage.
Special: Object Erasure: Instantly destroys Objects on contact.
Special: Altitude Change: Forces all battle participants out of High Altitude or Submerged status, regardless of whether or not it hits them. This effect cannot be avoided.

"Whew... I guess that's all cleaned up," murmured Sofia, as she reappeared within the video feed window, the sound of a plate being set down echoing through the screen. Her eyebrows raised as she saw the white expanse that was shown through the screen; she hadn't seen snow for quite some time, since it was currently warming up in the later weeks of spring. "Oh, this looks like a new place. Did you already visit that bounty shop place? I don't think Netfrica has any snow..."

"Yeah, it was pretty fast, actually. I took a bounty for some "Null" virus and it said Sharo had some, so I came here. Seems like a nice place to be by myself for a while--oops, almost fell into that," said Scourge, stopping just before she stepped onto icy ground, and avoiding a small sinkhole that she nearly backed into. Her vision had been obscured by some frosty fog that had just begun to clear. Now that she was able to see more, she saw a host of viruses lying in wait for her, most of which were on the icy lake spreading out in front of her. The crab in front of her looked especially rude, but oddly enough, she didn't feel at all affected by its taunting. Perhaps the cold had a different effect on her, as she was more concerned about the large golem in the middle of the field.

The viral scanner update that she had received recently showed that it was easily the strongest of the five viruses she could currently see, and was thus the main target to be taken out first. However, the ice seemed unstable, and even cracked in places, she had to fix that first. The chip from earlier came to mind as something that had been quite effective, and she turned towards the private video feed as her wrappings tightened up in anticipation. "I'll take the Totem from earlier, Sofia. Oh, and the Invis, I want to see how I can make it work here," she said.

"Totem, got it! And uh, Invis, Invis... Oh, right, it's this spooky ghost thing," said Sofia, picking out the chips quickly, as the PET made some affirmative beeps indicating that the chips had been read. "Anything else?"

Scourge didn't answer right away, as she activated the two chips in quick succession. A snap of her fingers, and the Totem burst up in front of her from the ground, its lower mouth already wide open in preparation to attack. The totem pole belched out a plume of fire towards the nearby Whirly, and the Cragger a bit further out, while Scourge used the pole itself as cover to hide herself. She then vanished from view entirely, using the Invisibility cloaking that Sofia's chip provided, before her existence itself winked out.

The only indication of her would then be the extremely loud sound of a drill spinning up, as her still-cloaked self reappeared behind the Cragger, carrying an enormous drill grafted onto her arm, which was made entirely out of her bandages. She thrust it forward towards the golem's back, ready to hear the sweet sound of its hard body being torn to pieces by the DrillArm.

The appearance of the oddly pallid navi seemed to grab the attention of the viruses arrayed before Scourge as she tightened her bandages. The first movement from any of them came from the slimy Null, who flicked its hands with a quick gesture, causing two swirling vortices to appear near her; one almost directly behind her and the other a short way n front. With the missing patch just to one side, it left her somewhat enclosed.

Even so, there was just enough space for Scourge to raise the totem in front of herself, obscuring her body from most of the viruses; she heard, more than saw, the large metal Ashuraid backing away on its rolling base slightly, as though looking for a good angle. The rush of flame from the totem managed to engulf the Whirly before it could get any closer to her, and it scorched the Cragger roughly, though ti seemed like the stony virus was still in the process of becoming aware of her, slow as they tended to be.

The Shrimpy virus was quicker, scuttling slightly then attempting to blast a stream of bubbles back at the totem, and Scourge behind it even though it couldn't' see her clearly. The bubbles battered the totem and spun it about, and a fair amount of force from the stream flowed past and damaged the outer-most layer of Scourge's bandages, but by the time the bubbles cleared from the air, she was nowhere to be seen. The Shrimpy tried to peek around the totem a bit more. Had it got her?

With a keener eye, the Null virus thought it knew what had happened and warped in quickly to the seemingly empty space behind the totem, putting one hand out and releasing a pulse of energy that it calculated should throw the navi off into the missing hole... but it paused afterwards, looking about; it hadn't connected with anything. The navi wasn't just invisible, she actually wasn't there after all. It cursed something in broken viral sounds, then warped back to where it had started, casing the field for sign of her.

The revelation came a moment later as Scourge struck, drilling into the slow-responding Cragger from behind and reducing the virus to so much broken rubble in a moment. Her invisibility wouldn't hold much longer, however, and now the remaining viruses were looking in her direction, more or less.
