For the Service of the Machine

Continuting along, 213 ended up encountering some viruses that were more than happy to smash things into pieces. That normally wouldn't be a particularly big problem with a Navi, but a look at the ground would show that things might be tricky...

---BATTLE THREE, READY
---THE GLASS MUST BEND, BUT NOT BREAK
---GO
This was indeed going to be a tricky battle. Fredrick wasn't eve sure about going forwards with it, let alone how to approach it. 213 looked down at her feet, the glass below her only barely able to handle her mechanical weight as it was. Her bulky form was harsh on the glass not to mention hard to listen to as she scraped the surface. The enemies before her had a clear advantage over her, as their health totaled more than the Navi believed she could dish with her limited access to blessings.

Initially she took a step back to oversee the field. During the momentary withdraw Fredrick spoke up. "This fight might be one that it best skipped 213. Tactical withdraws are not a sign of cowardliness." He held his pen ready, knowing her response would give good notes to be recorded.

"I am well aware of this fact, Uriel. But what is set up as their strength, it also a weakness for them. I can preform this battle for the machine." She moved her foot back, the sound of glass and metal grinding together echoed in the nets, unable to be blocked out. 213 whipped her hand to her side, clutching the hilt of her trusty long sword and pulled out the blade. She emotionless face glared down the lines of the enemies, already knowing what her first motion would be. After that, things were getting a little fuzzy.

"Your own home field terrain will be your downfall," She declared as she thrust her sword into the panel before her, bowing her head on the pommel. After a fast prayer, the panels around her ripped up and started to form her armor, a gift of the machine. Even though the panels around her were made of glass, the armor was still metal in appearance. As the final piece as welded into place by an unknown force, she picked up her feet and started moving to the right flank.

"I am going to send in a blessing I think will be greatly useful in this moment," Fredrick said. He slotted in the shockwave chip, thinking it best for the situation. He took note of this fact, realizing once they acquired more chips, it would be difficult for Fredrick to make proper battle field calls. This might compromise the experiment if the head angel for 213 isn't logical in his tactical choices.

213 this time, however, thought the chip was well chosen. With her wings out spread and steam billowing out from them, she took a careful step into her position her was after. As many of the viruses were lined up as she could manage, and she prepared the data for the shockwave chip. Her sword was imbued with its hopefully ground breaking power as she swung the sword underhand on the panel before her. A large shockwave flew forwards on the ground outwards from the point of impact. 213 held her sword ready, and he wings upwards and around her, giving her a very aggressive stance as she awaited the results of her attack. The rest of her actions were going to be based around this.

Summary
1) Machine's Shield (20 HP casting to Self)
2) Tactical Movement to the flank of the viruses to line them up Best as possible, on the CatackB side.
3) Shockwave chip to the Line, starting with CatackB (40 + Line Attack + Ground Attack)
Her resolve unaffected by the fragile terrain, 213 reached for her blade and surrounded herself in extra armor to prepare for an attack. Moving quickly to the viruses' flank, a vicious swing of her blade sent a wave of violent yellow energy speeding through the targets. It tore through the first in line, the Catack, and passed through the immobile Hardheads with ease while it tore through the glass panels. However, the final virus had ample time to roll out of the way on its treads. Not pleased with being attacked, the HardHeads retaliated as they fell with small but painful looking cannonballs, one of which smashed 213's armor and proceeded to hit her chest. The HardHeads hit the bottom of the hole with a loud smashing sound. The Catack was barely able to regain traction at the edge of the crevice caused by the wave and whirled around to fire its cannon at the downed Navi, though it remained dangerously close to the hole.

The opening attack went just how 213 had hoped that it would. She couldn't surrender the assault now, even with her armor being gone and destroyed. Good thing that the shockwave deleted those painful hardhead viruses. She withdrew her sword and started at the end of the weapon. That extra hook would be a very valuable addition to her attacks. She closed her eyes and muttered a prayer, trying to access the chip data. Her blank eyes opened as she observed the skies in anguish, unsure why she wasn't aided.

Fredrick looked to the faith meter, and watched it drop very slightly. Distressed, he slotted in the first chip that he could grab, which was(luckily) the exact chip that 213 was requesting. The presence of the data did nothing to boost her faith meter back up however. She opened the data, an her metal sword mutated and shifted into the proper shape, the transformation being accompanied by an symphony of grinding metal.

Fredrick made a very bold note about the faith meter, taking precise notes as to why the meter was dropped, and what he could do to remedy his lack of battle experience to keep the faith meter both in check, and not unfairly weighted towards loss. He was an irregular variable to the meter.

Her wings spread wide, and her sword armed with the proper blessing, 213 was ready. Probably a bit under armored, but prepared. She moved forwards, sword in a offensive grip. She jumped into the air, her wings wrapping and unwrapping around her as she did so, pulling the sword down in an overhead strike. The slash was through, and on the center of the blade, not wanting to hook the targeted virus just yet. She pulled her form up, steam rising as she herself rose, and wiped the sword back to her right, her torso twisting quickly as she did so. In one pass she attempted to hook the virus onto.

Wasting none of the energy she had she spun around and aimed the tip of the blade, where hopefully the catack resided, and attempted to tossed the hooked creature into the other, and into the glass paneling near to it. 213 regained her footing and wrapped her wings around her, using the steam cloud they produced, and the strength of their structure to protect herself in the event a attack was being returned.

1) Rageclaw to Catack B (40 + Slashing)
2) Rageclaw to Catack B and A (20 + Impact to Both)
3) Dodge

213 successfully cut the Catack with her sword and even managed to throw it against its ally. And as if all those attacks put the viruses in a mass distress, all of their counterattacks simply missed 213 by a long shot...

213 unwrapped her wings from her body and with a silent unaltered gaze watched the viruses as they scrambled from her throwing them. She shot her hand out to the side, holding it parallel to the ground plane as she sent excess energy to her palms. Large sparks shot down to collide with the ground in a bright display of power. The bolts that hit the ground began to tear it back up, then panels starting to float around her and weld themselves to her form. With a final flash of light, the armored angel stood with her sword held at the ready, wings spread wide and armor shining wide.

Fredrick took a distinct note of the fact that 213 took no celebration in the change in tides of the battle. At the start she was at a disadvantage, with the large portion of her health lost from one virus attack. Now that the reverse was there, and victory close, she celebrated none. Instead she kept fighting, with nothing but her unchanged stare and body language. Fredrick set down the pen and grabbed a near by cup of coffee and took a sip. So far his discoveries had been close to what he believed that they would be. He reclined in his chair and let the angel keep fighting. He kept the chips close by and would try harder to read her prayers.

One powerful push off is all she needed to carry her form right for the scrambling viruses. The sword flipped back behind her, trailing in a path of light as the energy in it sparked off. Once at the target she flared her wings wide and held the sword high above her head. With a mighty blow, supported the weight of her machine form, she slashed downwards on the catack with greater health. Her energy was drained after the attack, and her wings dropped slightly. Still, she sent out a prayer for aid from the machine god.

Fredrick caught the prayer this time, and sorted through the small pile of chips as the prayer was being decoded. He found the shotgun chip, after doubling checking the pile, and sent it in to 213. Fredrick felt overall proud of himself as he determined what she wanted to use. Fredrick would feel the emotions such as pride fro 213 at the end of each fight. At least that was the general plan.

Taking a sliding step backwards she raised her hand. Now that her energy supplies were supplemented by the blessing, she could deal the final blow to both of the viruses. Her hand leveled and her eyes gazed down her arm, like looking down the sight of a gun. Her thumb locked unto on, end finger on the other. With a spread of her fingers a shot exploded from her palm, tiny energy pelts flew out. 213 took another slide backwards, her wings spread wide with the sword held up, waiting for a reaction from the enemies.

Summary
1) Machine's Shield to Self (20 HP Casting)
2) Might of the Machine to Catack A (60 + Elec + Slashing + Self Slow (+ 20))
3) Shotgun to Catack A (50 + Spread1)
A combination of an electrical sword slash and a handgun from 213 promptly deleted the stronger of the two Catack, leaving the last one just sorta hanging there. It desperately aimed its turret at her, and fired a round. The explosive broke 213's armor, and shattered the floor beneath her, causing her to fall through! If she didn't do something about it now, there would surely be something pretty nasty about that fall!

213.EXE: 80 HP (Falling through Broken)
The ground beneath her feet quickly gave way once the attack collided with her body armor. Thank the machine she had the armor there, or else the damage would be painful. No time to mutter thanks, her feet were falling fast in the changing terrain. With her gears and systems free from the extra weight of the armor, they spun more quickly and freely. Her wings flapped as strongly as they could, pushing excess steam around the navi. She didn't rely on just her wings though. Her feet pushed on what she thought was stable enough ground to get her weight away from the falling platforms. In a final dramatic gesture her wings straightened as she tumbled to the side, trying to avoid the fall damage.

Fredrick watched intently, wondering if her large form would be fast enough to escape the grasp of the falling panels. Fredrick was starting to take joy from this rebirth of netbattling in him. Sure he was an old timer, but the thrill was still there. He hadn't been doing anything like this lately, when he last did the navi's were far more...primitive. He slotted in an attack chip for 213, hoping she'd be able to use it.

213 felt the blessing and smiled at its presence. The machine had blessed her, even without being requested. She must be favored. Her faith meter restored the lost percentages, which Fredrick instantly recorded in his journal, his mind back to his research. 213 Planned to use the data quickly. Wasting no time in the uploading of the data, she leveled her hand and aimed the palm at the final virus, firing the wad of steel and energy quickly. Fredrick made a tiny side note of the theatrics of this action, reminding him of wild west movies. She wasn't on the most stable of ground. Her mind was processing faster than her actions were, allowing her to fire off a shot. Hopefully the shot would collide and the navi wouldn't land in the bottom of a hole in the process. Hopefully the machine blessed her luck as well this day.

Quick Action Summary
1) Attempt to jump to the side in a flurry of wing flaps and steam
2) Lanuch cannon at CatackB Wild west style on the fast Draw (40 + Knockback)
3) Pray to the Heavens she doesn't end up in the bottom of a whole
Flopping around wildly didn't really help 213's case, and so she made one last attack at the Catack in desperation. The Cannon's energy shot flew true, and just shaved off its side, deleting it. Meanwhile, 213 had things to worry about, which was weathering the landing. (100)

[TankCannon1] Battlechip, 360z
213 turned her head in confusion as to how her flailing and wing flapping didn't get her out of the way of falling into that hole. Why didn't her wings work? She inspected them and drew no new conclusions. She listened. The cannon ball connected with the target, the noise of the impact of the deletion echoing in the pit she had fallen into. Without missing a beat, she flung a hand to the edge of the pit and started to pull herself out. She folded her wings in, as to avoid them getting in the way of her exit.

Fredrick was slightly confused to as to why she couldn't out right use her wings either. He stated to pull up information on the internet, seeing that certain programs were needed for the navi to actually fly in the virtual space. He would have to get those for her as soon as possible. Being able to preform this action would help her he thought.

213 stretched once out of the pit, and knocked the broken and fractured glass off of her shoulders and in the joints of her armor and frame. The glass terrain was messy and dangerous, but she actually seemed to approve of it. The extra damage possible was a nice change and well welcomed. "Uriel," She addressed Fredrick, "How much longer must I purge this network?"

Fredrick leaned forwards and gathered himself, waiting a moment to get into the shoes of "Uriel". "Not much longer. The machine has other work for you soon, but not yet. Continue your current objective and wait."

213 accepted the answer and gathered the remaining data. A little zenny once more and another blessing to boot. She sensed the power in thsi one and sent it right over to Fredrick. Fredrick downloaded the chip data to a blank chip and set it in the pile. In return he grabbed another, much smaller chip, and uploaded it unto 213's PET. For a moment 213 was bathed in a bronze light, the energy from the chip healing her slightly and repairing her wounds from battle. The scuffs in her armor were removed, the cuts and scratches gone.

213 bowed her head in a somber response to the healing blessing, thinking it a reward for the utter service to the machine and for instantly listening to Uriel's orders. She walked forwards with ehr wings spread and steam surrounding her, to search for of the targets that needed to be purged.

213 Saws the viruses and stopped moving in her tracks. She scooped the scene, seeing the displayed abilities and health read outs of the viruses. Her head lowered in disgust. Fredrick even looked up from his notes to inspect the scene. He was learning more about the general flow of netbattling and how 213 fought, and it didn't look promising here. 213 stayed out of sight and out of range of the viruses, as best she could.

"Uriel, I shouldn't engage these viruses. On top of some of them being part machine, they are too well defended for me to provide a proper assault. I haven't gathered and gained enough blessings yet."

Fredrick agreed with her. He was looking up information of the metalbody status of the Pulsebulbs. She couldn't crack that defense. "Disengage."

213 started walking backwards from the scene, simply trying to walk away from the net she had uncovered. She kept her wings in close and her steam output very low. Her movements were labored and cautious, each foot being placed carefully down before her.

Summary
1) Walk Away
2) Walk Away
3) Walk Away
-- Turn 360 and Walk Away (Successful!) --
213 head her head high and spread her wings out once she was beyond range of the viruses. Her hand swayed free from hovering over the hilt of the sword, her guard dropping as the coast was currently clear. Steam followed her trail and sounds of grinding gears and working machine parts and pistons filled the air around her. 213 Kept searching for viruses, but found none in the general area. She kept searching the nets of the Dentech server, trying to find more organics to smite.

Fredrick swiveled in his chair playfully while 213 searched. After a few moments of childish distractions, he turned his attention back to the hologram screens to find 213 walking into the library of the net. All around her were Mr programs and various such creations sorting the piles upon piles of folder data. Most were neatly placed, but like any library, the organization of the area wasn't perfect. Navi's of Students skimmed through information, moving quickly from place to place to find the necessary data for the classes.

213 stood out like a sore thumb. Her strikingly custom appearance and wings radiating steam made her a interesting sight. She causally walked up to a shelf and pulled a folder down labeled, "Seraphim".

"213. Knowledge is a very important subject. With great knowledge comes great power, but not all knowledge is of great importance to all roles. We should insure that the security has no issues here," Fredrick instructed.

213 had already started reading the file. She sent the data to the PET, and displayed a large picture of a fully armored Seraphim with angelic wings. "What is wrong with this Angel, Uriel?" She asked.

Fredrick had no answer. He stumbled and stuttered on his words, trying to choke out an explanation. 213 put the file back. "Since your response time was so long, I assume I have over stepped my boundaries for the time being. I will search for the viruses in the library."

{Battle 4 Please..or would it be 5? I am unsure}
With no information to be found, 213 went around the library, searching instead for viruses through the hallways of files and books. The entrances to the vast hallways were gleaming Holy Panels, which made it easy to navigate through the sprawling labyrinth of the library area. However, once she entered one particular hallway, she realized that the hallway had already been occupied by a large IronShield virus! What was more, she saw that the virus wasn't alone; a peek through the bookshelves revealed a quartet of viruses in hiding behind the IronShield. Well, the narrow space made it sure that the ones behind didn't have a clear shot at her, at least, so that was one good point. Otherwise, it was a very cramped battleground.

213 could barely stretch her wings well in these crowd conditions. She wrapped them in on her body, keeping the close, and the steam centralized. Her head drifted between the shelves, scanning the titles of the books. She couldn't reach out to read one, Uriel was watching and she was on patrol from his orders. But maybe she could look at them tomes later. The banks of knowledge they held was tempting to her. She turned her head away from them. She couldn't be tempted right now.

Fredrick observed this behavior, unsure what to make of it all. The faith meter was unchanged, and the mission of 213 was still her primary objective. She was just being curious. This fact was curious within its self. Maybe it wasn't curiosity, but maybe just a thirst for knowledge. Who knew. This certainly wasn't a programed fact. He had no idea how to note this.

213 turned a corner of a bookshelf, stumbling upon her enemies. A large shield was presented to her face, and behind on the other side was more enemies. Taking cover behind the shield. What a bunch of cowards. Her head lowered in disgust, and her wings unfolded and down turned slightly. She was right in the middle of a holy panel, as was the virus. She tried to extend her wings, but didn't have near enough room. She wasn't pleased about this. Her eyes scanned around the area. She couldn't get right through that shield, and with the holy panel support it would take all her firepower just to dislodge that one virus. The only call was to ignore it for now.

She looked at the shelves and spawned an idea. The new blessing she had just received would help greatly in this. She left her sword on her hip, and didn't begin to summon her armor, as was her normal approach to a battle. Instead she reverted power to her legs and arms, changing most of the steam expulsion from her wings to her ankles.

"Creative," Fredrick muttered with the mic muted. He could determine the plan of the navi, for once, seeing the change in her normal pattern. He still was unsure which chip she would require though. He nervously waited the encoded message from the navi, chips at the ready to be slotted in.

213 bent her knees low, bending her body over. Her wings tightly around her she jumped into the air steam trailing from her feet, as she grabbed unto one of the shelves, as high as she could grab. She swung her other arm up and placed heavy metal feet on the lower shelves, pushing herself upwards. Steam was starting to be redirected to her wings, to create a Screen of steam. Along the way she send her prayer to Fredrick, requesting the blessing of choice.

Fredrick slotted in the tankcannon chip, now fully understanding the intent of the navi. He started to give thought to why he didn't engage the shield first. 213 finished her climb and got to her position above the viruses. At this area she should be able to fire over the shield without issue. While he began thinking and racking his brain on the matter, 213 started her attack. The chip now in her system, she uploaded the powerful shot to her left hand. She aimed her hand at the center of the enemies, the electric expelling point aimed at the center of the group. The center of her hand crackled with excess power as the large shell was prepared. Finally she had found the perfect lobbing location and sent the shell dead center. A large explosion ensued, but she was unsure which she had gotten in the blast. She released her grip and fell back to the holy panel where she originally started.

Summary
1) Reroute Power to Legs and Jump on the shelves.
2) Climb along the shelves to get high enough to fire behind the Ironshield without issue.

213 was trapped on the top of the shelves, while the assaults were in progress. He hugged tight to the top, reducing her damages slightly, as some hit the bookshelf itself. She looked down, seeing the explosion from her tank cannon wasn't was large as she thought, the viruses weren't fully deleted in the close quarters, this was something to investigate into. The explosion didn't have the kick she thought it did. She would have to take the fight down to them, in this case. she stood up, spreading her wings wide and holding her feet closer together. He tilted her head back, pinging a request to the machine for aid.

The screen lit up with the request, once in which Fredrick took a moment to respond to. He wasn't fully sure what the request was until he saw he jump from the shelf, feet first. Her body was tucked up in a ball, her wings trailing above her. The massive form of 213 was descending to the ground, assuming the aid requested wouldn't be given. Fredrick slotted in the shockwave chip just in time for 213 to reroute the attack to her feet. Upon landing with her right foot, she started to lean her body forwards to both catch her balance and direct the attack, trying to link up the towards viruses with it. A large energy ripping forwards from her form, caused by the chip.

Her impact created a large boom, knocking books off of nearby shelves. She unfolded herself from the landing position and pulled her long sword from his side, the withdrawing sound a horrible grinding of metal on metal. She sent another request skywards to Uriel, this one much easier for Fredrick to determine what it was; the rageclaw.

The data mutated the sword in her hand and changed the tip to a hook. She threw her weight forwards, her shoulder leading the charge as she neared the first of the viruses. With a overhead strike, she attempted to dig the hook of the weapon into the flesh of the piranha virus. With a follow up slide of her foot, she twisted her from, dragging the hook end behind, before whipping it towards the other grounded virus, trying to send one flying right into the other.

213 turned her attention to the ironshield behind her. The shield on the virus was forward facing, turned away from her currently. This was an obvious choice for the attack pattern of 213. She swung the sword in her hand with a sideways swipe, trying to hook the side of the shield, to rip the virus from its position on the holy panel. She swung the sword to the side of the narrow hall, trying to slam the target into a nearby shelf, to remove it from the panel.

Fredrick had a smile of approval on as he figured out what 213 needed. He felt proud of himself for the job and gave himself a pat on the back. He was also impressed by 213's quick processing and response time to his lack of supplies. He made note of the pressing need for a automatic chip selection system for her.
