On the Hunt

Walking into the Yoka Networks and re-establishing her connection to her netop, as well as getting an ear full from her, the navi went on her hunt for not only the ever so prevelent Larks, but...something else. The remains of a former navi.

(Battle 1, 100 HP, Lark Bounty, Reload/Launcher)
It was a muggy afternoon in Yoka Net when Fenixia arrived, with a low sun creating a burnt glow over the spring-dotted landscape. The trail she found herself walking broadened into a sandy strip that broke out of the wooded tree line to reveal an expanse of ocean to the left, held back the a sloping shore that banked up enough to ensure that there would be no contamination of the steaming spring pools on the other side of the retaining strip.

Just ahead of her, half buried in the sandy ground, the glimmers of a data crystal peeked out, and it seemed largely like the searching navi would have it all to herself; nothing much seemed to be around. There was a Shrimpy, a little further up the way, settled at the edge of the ocean and mostly minding its own business, and there seemed to be a lot of bugs bothering her in the humid afternoon warmth, but the only other sign of life was the wide expression of a single lark virus just now beginning to peek up a her from one of the near Onsen pools to her right.

Feeling the sand beneath her furry feet, Fenixia would continue along the sandy beaches that stretched in front of her. Watching the viruses that began to start popping up as she continued along the area. She knew full well what she was in for. But she couldn't help but bring out a small pad in front of her as the four viruses paid her no mind, the sand between her feet crunching underfoot.

Now...let us see...a "Shrimpy" Virus...hmmm...one-hundred hit-points. Aqua elemental, perfect prey for me. Have my "bounty", the "lark", another one-hundred Hit-Point entity, has a much wider spread attack than the Shrimpy...and then these insects would be those "Skeeter" viruses. Fashioned after Mosquitoes, they drain their target's vitality into themselves...but are quite weak individually at a mere thirty hit-points to delete...quite the motley crew that showed up. Still, should be quite easy to delete. Fenixia would mutter to herself, looking up the basic data on each virus that showed up, her data appearing on Penny's PET screen. The new netbattler quickly picking up her PET as the data flooded the screen, a small screen to the corner, the netop nearly having a panic attack from the navi's sudden appearance on the Yoka networks.

F-Fenixia! What are you doing out there in Yoka!? Get back here before they delete you! Penny stammered, but Fenixia simply stood there with her arms crossed behind her back, a toothy grin on her face, a predator onlooking it's prey. Penny, would you please be a dear and send the AquaUpper data to me? I am far hardier than I look, I can certainly take a few hits from these foes. Not to mention I have the upper hand on them anyways. But I do need your help. Besides...I want to see if I can find your navi's data around here. I'm sure something survived. There have always been reports of "Navi Ghosts" on the net so to speak. Perhaps we'll find any sort of trace of him. The navi explained, quickly getting into a low stance, hands on the ground as she spread her legs, getting into a combative stance. The netop in a tizzy after what Fenixia had said, grabbed the pack that had her chips in it, a simple plastic baggie since...she didn't get everything she needed from Jack, but regardless it was good enough for the chips they had for the time being.

Slotting in the chip before speaking again, she slotted in a second chip for Fenixia to make use of as well on top of that. Fenixia...why would you believe in something...so stupid? There's many theories out there, Penny. Fenixia cut in, quickly summoning the data in the AquaUpper she had obtained. Her hands to the ground, she began to channel the data through the ground below her, a quiet rumble going through the sand as she sent the data's processes out. Waves beginning to swell and kick up as they began to lap towards the two viruses. Swells swirling up underneath in the water based panels that had flanked the fennec navi, waves slowly but surely growing in intensity as the rumbles grew and grew before a loud crack in the two pools of water. Before long hands began to claw at the viruses that floated above the waves of either side of Fenixia before grasping at them, rising up above the two viruses and with a splash, attempted to grab and pull the viruses below the waves, and attempted to rip the data away from them before finally going back to normal.

Inhaling deeply, the fox based navi would begin to wade out towards the sea on her left, the navi's suit mostly keeping the water out and not touching her fur, despite her feet becoming soaked from the simple act of wading outwards towards. Eugh. Always hated getting wet... she murmured as she turned around towards the mosquito viruses that had pretty much flanked the animal navi. Anyways, as I was saying, there are many theories on why and how Navi Ghosts exist. Some paranormal, some scientific. The navi continued as she began to summon a large tank cannon in her hands. The navi hefting it upwards with two handles on either side of it, with a button towards the top as she took aim at the viruses. I personally believe in the latter myself. Some theorize that navis leave behind residual data that contains their memories, personalities, the list goes on. Some are less harmful to the net, though most wind up turning into combat hungry specters that haunt the networks they were deleted in, or, failing that, the general area's networks that they were deleted in. Though these navis are generally considered powerful in their own rights despite their deaths. She rambled on as she used her tail to grasp at a leaver towards the back of the rail cannon that she had created, the barrel spreading outwards and widely spreading to it's "Wide Range" mode. With a pull of the leaver of the rail-tank cannon she created, a blast of energy discharged outwards with a bright flash, an explosion of energy hurtling towards the two Skeeters that she had hoped to delete in a single blast. And with it, their data lingers on. It is said they drop chips based on the navi that was deleted, but that has since been discredited due to the lack of evidence and lack of "navi ghosts" that have been seen on the net. With any luck, your old navi had will and strength to survive his deletion and, with it, we may find him again. So you may get in one last goodbye.

Having encountered the group of viruses in the middle of her hunt, Fenixia started off the battle with a powerful AquaUpper battlechip, summoning a mess of hands that grabbed at the aquatic viruses on the water. The Shrimpy struggled to escape and flopped around as it was grabbed, but its efforts were futile as it was crushed and dragged under. The Lark, however, managed to escape the watery claws and retaliated by spitting out a blue energy wave that cut at Fenixia's arm slightly. (-15) Undeterred, she waded out into the water to line up a shot on the Skeeters, though they gave her the convenience of simply flying over to her. The rail cannon that she took out managed to clip one of the mosquito-like viruses with the blast, but the other darted past the explosion, only to barely miss their flight path towards her and rush past her shoulder.

Fenixia let out a yelp as she was hit by the pressurized blast of water, cutting on her arm as a gash formed from it. Fenixia barely held her balance as she was hit by the force of the blast, her body quivering as she quickly recovered, despite a dribble of data leaking from the open wound. F-Fenixia! her operator cried out as the navi regained her "regal" composure, seeming to ignore the pain flooding her mind. But despite that, she was unhappy she had gotten herself soaked for a lost cause, the bombs at her belt beginning to crackle and hiss as she channeled her hatred for the "flying" aquatic virus into herself. I'm fine, Penny. It's not that bad, though I feel I underestimated the opposition just a little. Fenixia said back, clicking her tongue as she tried to call back upon the TankCannon she had used previously...it's data was gone and so were the hopes of her recovering it for the battle. She knew she had forgotten to do something in the heat of the moment.

Penny, could you please send the Shotgun from our folder? I still have viruses to delete, and one in particular I am gunning for. Fenixia asked, and thus, she received without a second thought on her operator's part. Just please don't do anything more reckless, I don't want you to be deleted for my sake, Fenixia. The operator called back, the fennec nodding almost immediately at her request. Though it was little more than a lie to keep her operator sated and content, she had things to do, and she couldn't afford to not take a few risks.

Spreading her legs in the water, Fenixia took on a combat-ready stance once more as she quickly , taking a light mental aim at the Skeeter that had been buzzing around since the start of her encounter. Her fur soaked from the last attack she had taken, the navi was quick to bring out what looked to be a simple sawed off shotgun, black metal finish glinting off in the light above her as she held the simple metal weapon outwards. Hand wrapped firmly around the wooden finish stock and the two barrels hopefully aiming down the annoyance that was a mosquito virus, Fenixia pulled the trigger that had wrapped around her finger, a loud BANG sounding off as she sent a single pellet of glowing yellow buckshot at the swarm of insects that vied for her blood.

Dropping the gun into the water with a splash as it's data began to decode and enter her body after the shot, ready to be shot off again should she need it, she turned towards the Lark that had nailed her moments ago. Swiftly reaching down to her belt, the navi brought up a shocking sphere of electricity from it, the ball crackling and thundering in her hand as she grinned a wide predator grin, sharp teeth glinting just the same as her gun. You made the wrong move, attacking an apex predator like myself, fish. She called out to it, the electrical ball beginning to crackle even louder as she took her aim at the flying fish and, much akin to a baseball player pitching the ball, she moved through the same motions in a fluid and (hopefully) uninterrupted way. Arm back, she leaned forwards and threw her electrical bomb. The weapon being thrown like a fastball, it quickly grew spikes around it's self as it attempted to stick onto the Lark's fleshy body, her throw and pitch hopefully on point to stick it on good. The electricity running ever hotter as it attempted to shock the virus lightly.

Grunting as she rolled her arm, the fox navi was quick to grumble under her breath, knowing she might get tagged by the Lark's pressurized blade of water, inhaled deeply. With it, Fenixia attempted to jump into the air with a backflip and dive into the water with a splash, hoping to evade the virus' attack. And whilst she did that, the bomb she threw ticked away briefly before exploding loudly where it had stuck at, the bomb discharging as much electricity as it could as it attempted to delete the Lark or whatever else it had stuck it's self to.

Gritting her teeth through the damage that she had sustained, Fenixia extracted a Shotgun from her reserves provided by her operator and blasted the Skeeters clear out of her sight, easily supported by the fact that they were so close to her that the firearm's spread was effective. The Lark virus close to her spat out its blue energy shot at her in turn, injuring her slightly (-15) before she could take out her next attack--an electrical grenade in the shape of a ball from her belt. The shocking attack connected easily as it first attached to the flying 'fish', before it erupted with flair, roasting the virus thoroughly in turn.

Battlechip, 600z [Open GMD? Y/N]
Immediately surfacing as she heard the blast from underwater, Fenixia immediately rose to the surface, splashing water all over the place as she drug herself to the shore and quickly got on all fours, shaking herself dry, fur immediately fluffing up and turning her into a big ball of wet fur with a skin tight space suit on. Grumbling, she would begin to download the data from around her, feeling chip data mixed in with her rewards of zenny. Mmm. Six-hundred? Not bad. She grumbled to herself as she walked on all fours to the GMD that had sat there during her battle. Penny, could you send me one of the untraps? I'm not risking a mimic. She stated, and quickly recieved the data. Beginning to open the GMD, she grinned as she began to send the Untrap data into the GMD. If it started to hiss, smoke and whatnot, she would quite enjoy it

(Use UNTRAP on GMD)
As the crystal began to decrypt itself at Fenixia's command and split in half, a piercing howl confirmed her suspicions of it being trapped, before it re-fused together again, spinning in place before decrypting itself properly into a zenny cache.

[GMD: 1500z]
Smirking as she sent the zenny to her netop's PET, Fenixia righted herself and headed off deeper into the Yoka network, she could very well make use of the 2100z she made from just this fight.

(Battle 2, 70 HP)
Moving further along the shoreline, Fenixia meandered through the increasingly humid evening light. The sandy beach developed into a proper walkway that separated the sea from the springs more clearly, and on her right, the steamy onsen pools started to be surrounded by hot coals as part of the aesthetic. It was near dusk, in this net space and in the fading light the exploring navi could make out new shapes just ahead of her.

The most agitated were two insectoid critters, one near, the other further off, who made chittering noises in the dusk, but perked up and looked towards her with a buzz as she approached. In between them, distance-wise, two other lump at the edge of the coal appeared to be viruses as well, though right now the pair looked to be napping. A glance to her right showed that they steam rising off the largest of the onsen springs was just a little bit more corporeal than the steam elsewhere as well, and might cause problems for her before too much longer. Opposite the pool, a little further out to sea, the broad grin and wobbly eyes of another lark bobbed up from the surface, peering at Fenixia as she moved along.

Snoozy are about 2 feet tall, and are shaped like a white translucent blob of goo, forming a basic head, body, and arm, with the body trailing behind. The head has an oversized nightcap covering most of it, colored dark blue, with white dots as stars. The end of the nightcap has a hanging moon from it. The lone arm carries a thick white pillow by the corner, with some down leaking out of a tear. The coloring scheme of its main body changes with its version. Snoozier are red, and Snooziest are blue. A menacing black Snoozy DS has an additional feature of serrated teeth forming a giant jaw. EX forms are darker shades of their originals. Snoozy attack by flailing their white pillows around and spreading their apparent sleepiness around. They start their attack by teleporting up to their targets. The teleport counts as a dodge if utilized correctly. They then teleport back to their original spot, and do not move otherwise. They may use their secondary full-heal at any time, though they are more likely to do so when they are injured. Snoozy viruses only appear when there is cover to hide behind, and will stay behind this cover for the entirety of the battle except to attack. They will not appear otherwise. Fenixia sniffed the air right after, there was another Lark in the area, and much like it's sibling earlier, she would be more than happy to fry it to a blackened crisp...and then...a creature made of mist, no discernible shape to me made out of it. Fenixia licked her lips, she had found some decent prey, and it was hard to fight back against her...baser instincts.

Leaning forwards as she prepared to fight, she growled out lowly, teeth flashing as her tail began to sway back and forth slowly, much like a feral wolf as she began to examine her targets more in depth. Data flowing into her head as she examined their capabilities, she closed her eyes as she began to request chips, two clicks came to her almost immediately and she would be quick to summon the first. The navi holding her hands out in front of her, a metallic shield began to construct it's self, a flash of light from Fenixia's belt and blue wireframes appearing in front of them. The beams beginning to cross along the wireframe, a metal slab with an opening in the middle alongside a small visor made of glass would be swiftly constructed, a metal protrusion wrapping around her arm, the shield about as tall as she was with a curved front much like a riot shield.

Moving from her position, shield stretched out in front of her, she beat feet from her position as she tried to curve around the viruses, her small frame hindered little by her riot-shield piece of defense. Her body pulsing and throbbing internally as she attempted to move her way in front of the two amorphous blobs, her feet clicking against the panels as she did so. As soon as she thought she had gotten into range and got her trajectory right, the navi slammed her shield onto the ground in front of her with a loud metallic clang, the front middle beginning to slide open as a cannon barrel began to slide out forwards, a metallic black as it shone in front of the shield. The cannon shaking slightly within the shield's confines before an explosion of energy rocketed out of the cannon, a metal ball briefly seen amidst the soot and gunpowder before cracking open in the middle, spreading out as the ball split in half, the two halves smashing onto the ground and a flurry of smaller projectiles began to rocket out mid-air, attempting to slam against the viruses in front of her. But before she could forget, Fenixia managed to save part of the data that made up the cannon, able to use it again after a brief moment.

*Reload (Reload TankCannon1 for next turn)
With new prey in sight, Fenixia sized up the scene the made her move. The two insects both lobbed crackling stun bombs in her general direction as she raised her shielding and darted forwards, but neither creature had the accuracy to even come close to her swift movements. The Misty attempted to surge forward form above its pool and engulf her as she passed, but Fenixia was too quick, ducking away from the sentient cloud and coming to the perfect position to make her own assault.

The two Snoozy viruses were just waking up and looking around; they seemed confused, as whatever cover they'd originally taken a nap behind appeared to have deserted them at some point. As they were contemplating running away, the explosive sound of Fenixia's cannon went off and both viruses were obliterated. The neaker, just beyond, managed to avoid the hit, but otherwise things seemed to be going well.

Just as she had time to think this, perhaps, and hear the satisfying reload sound of her cannon being refreshed, a jet of water struck her from behind, splashing up her back as an unexpected cold shock. Behind her, the Lark's grin showed no remorse.

SnoozySnoozy (Snoozy)

If their cover is destroyed, they will attempt to flee starting next turn if they do not have a specified object chip to be dispensed first.

MagneakerMagneaker (Magneaker)

Magneaker viruses move and dodge slowly. Magneakers attack by launching MagBombs by default. When there is a stunned enemy on the field, however, they will instead charge at the stunned opponent with surprising speed. They are quick to react to the presence of stunned enemies, and execute this attack with very little delay. The DashAttack counts as a dodge against opponents attacking from any angle except dead-on or from directly behind the Magneaker. Magneakers do not charge at un-stunned enemies, unless there is a stunned target in-line with them. Magneakers have Omnishoes while executing a charge attack.
