Durandal surveyed the results of his assault combined with Terra's onslaught. The ElecOgre and one of the armored turrets were destroyed and one of the tanks were injured. It wasn't the outcome he had hoped for, but it would have to do. He readied his sword, intent on finishing the job, when he caught movement in the corner of his eye. The armored covering receded from the cannon like viruses, revealing a large turret aimed toward Terra. Durandal tried to shout out a warning, but it was too late. The cannon's roar drowned out the Navi's shout and a cannonball hurled through the air. The iron ball clipped Terra in the leg, nearly crushing her kneecap.

"Terra!" Durandal shouted. "Art thou injured? Stay clear and I shall handle this fiend."

Durandal charged toward the turret, hoping to reach the virus before it restored its armored shell. Flames erupted along the length of his silvery blade, an inferno fueled by the anger at seeing his comrade injured. Katherine had anticipated his needs and slotted in the FireHit battlechip. Durandal channeled the flow of power, the flames rising higher and burning hotter until the blade flared with a cherry glow. Durandal slashed down with the sword, hoping to cleave the turret from its base and leave it to rust on the floor.

The flames dissipated from the blade as Durandal turned. There were still a few viruses left and he would need to do his part to avoid further injury. A dark aura replaced the searing flames, shadows dancing along the length of the sword. Durandal raised his sword above his head, focusing on the two surviving tanks. The Navi sliced downward, the dark aura leaping from the blade to hang in the air for a moment as an afterimage. With a muttered word the shadow slashed through the air in a swirling crescent, hurdling toward the closest of the tanks. With luck, the aura would chop through the first tank and continue on to bite deep into the second.

"Terra," Durandal shouted. "Focus thy strength upon the armored turret. We can finish this now with a final push."

Durandal broke into a strafing run. He circled around the battlefield, hoping to avoid moving into the range of the attacking viruses. If Terra couldn't finish off the remaining viruses, at least Durandal would be able to place himself in the optimal position to deliver the deathblow.

"Nrgh!"

Stumbling onto the hard white paneling, Terra stopped and rolled to reduce the likelihood of her executing a faceplant into the floor. Stopping to a halt, she propped herself up on the floor with her good leg. She had not expected the smaller metallic turret to react so soon, and underestimated it. When she was about to figure out how to deal with the turret, her allies reacted to her plight.

"Terra!" Durandal shouted. "Art thou injured? Stay clear and I shall handle this fiend."

Gritting her teeth through the pain, Terra managed a confident-looking thumbs-up and let her ally deal with the enemy. Looking down at her gloved hand, she clenched and released it a few times, before remembering that she had a repair process, only recently installed. Figuring it was the right time to try and use it, she let the restorative energy of the earth flow through her and into her hand, where it glowed with a green incandescence.

"Terra, you all right? I saw you get clocked by that cannonball back then," chimed in Scarlet through the comlink.

"I'm fine, Scarlet. I'm using the healing process you installed earlier," replied Terra, placing the glowing hand on her knee. The bruise that had started to form on her knee then dissolved immediately as the internal structure began to reform itself. Satisfied, she tried standing up, and it worked perfectly. "Efficient," she remarked.

"Look who coded it," said Scarlet, puffing out her chest slightly with pride.

"Thank you, Scarlet."

"You're welcome. Anyway, you've gotta take care of those viruses. I'm sending in the chip we got from the last battle. Seems it's a multiple-use chip, make good use of it," said Scarlet, pressing a button on her screen. The QuickBoomerang data immediately transferred itself to Terra. The Navi pointed her hand towards the ground, drawing up some material. She shaped it into a small boomerang with a sharp edge, using the battlechip data's specifications as a mold.

Feeling the metallic weapon in her hand, she analyzed its data composition, and found that just as her operator said, it had the ability to duplicate itself up to two times mid-flight towards a new target, and with just a little more processing on her part. Figuring it couldn't hurt, she activated the copy function once, and propelled it from her hand towards the shielded turret. Sure enough, in the middle of its flight path, the boomerang split in half, one half going towards the original target, and the other towards one of the tank viruses.

Terra got up and healed herself, which worked out quite nicely for her. Sadly, though, she was subsequently shot, again: this time by the CannonGuard.

After receiving an energy pellet to the gut, Terra managed to retaliate by chucking a boomerang at the thing, managing to delete it.

Meanwhile, a little ways away Durandal managed to slice through his stationary target. However, due to a combination of poor aim and the movement the small tanks made, he wasn't able to hit either with his aura shot.

The attack did, however, alert them to his presence. They turned on him and one even managed to fire. Durandal managed to barely avoid its attack.

Terra tossed a second boomerang, but the little tank who hadn't attacked managed to pick up its speed and scoot just out of the way, progressing towards Durandal. It seemed as if it had been a lucky break that the thing avoided the attack, since it seemed to ignore Terra completely.

The partners hadn't succeeded yet, but they seemed to have an opening.

Through her attack, Terra had been interrupted by a cannon shot to the gut, and recoiled. "Nrgh!" she reacted, holding a hand to her midsection. Her face was strained as her processes simulated the thought and feeling of pain in the Navigator. Leering at the Catacks, she gritted her teeth and prepared her attack. Still holding a hand to her middle, she lifted her foot and stomped hard on the ground, causing it to shift to dull brown soil around her, with some grass surrounding her position as well.

Meanwhile, under the Catacks, a slurry of mud and sand made life just that little bit tougher for them. With grains of sand and globs of mud in their tracks, they should be hampered a little in their movement. "Scarlet, what do you recommend?" asked Terra, now trying her best to stand up straight. "I'm sending in the Shotgun. Take care of yourself out there, Terra," said Scarlet, tapping some buttons here and there and sending the battlechip data to her Navi.

"Thank you, Scarlet," said Terra, standing straight now that the pain had subsided. She held out her hand in an open palm towards the Catacks, generating some soil in front of her hand. The bits of dirt revolved around her wrist until she closed it into a fist, during which the bits of dirt started getting larger. Then, Terra changed her fist into a gun-like gesture and 'fired' it. Though the move seemed like something superficial, a loud bang was heard as the dirt pellets propelled themselves at the viruses at bullet-speed.

Lowering her hand, Terra looked down at her glove, caked with dirt. Clenching it slowly and repeatedly, she kept her focus on the enemy. This time, she was not using her eyes, but her ground sensors, learning to detect her enemy's movements through the vibrations of the soil. Should one of the tanks turn around and fire on her, she knew what to do.

"Damn," Durandal muttered as his shotgun blast missed the two Catacks. "I cannot believe that I missed."

"Don't let it get you down," Katherine said. "Though do what you can to make sure Terra doesn't get hit again."

"Yes," Durandal said. "How dare these vile miscreants focus their ire on the wounded."

Durandal widened his stance, holding his sword at the ready. A second aura of energy erupted along the length of the blade as Durandal channeled the energy from a new battlechip. Katherine had slotted in the cannon, one of the few chips left in the duo's arsenal. The Navi stared down at one of the Catacks, silver sword bisecting the virus in his vision. He raised his sword above his head and bellowed a battle cry, slashing downward in an overhead chop. The aura leapt from the blade and soared across the battlefield, heading straight toward the Catack. If Durandal's aim was true, the wave of energy would smash into the virus and send it hurdling backwards.

Durandal charged forward, armored boots thudding against the terrain. He headed straight toward the second of the Catacks, blade trailing behind him as he ran. His eyes glanced from one virus to the other, intent on spotting any counterattack long before it reached him. As his feet neared the sand, Durandal leapt into the air and sailed toward the closest virus.
He slashed down as he landed, hoping to cleave the tank like virus in half. He ran past the virus, circling the tank to attack its exposed flank. His silvery blade sliced through the air in a horizontal chop. The Navi followed his assault with a swift thrust meant to incapacitate the virus.

Summary:

2. Dodging charge
3. Allegro (20x3 Slashing) to CatackB
As Terra began to riddle the battlefield with her terrains, Durandal sought to fend off the viruses as his partner took the time to mend her wounds. The precise slash of the sword cut through the Cattack, but it didn't stop it from its track and the two viruses continued to move closer and closer.

The tanks open fired at Durandal, but the navi was already on the move. He was able to dodge the first volley and took the second tank shell head on. As the navi closed in for the finishing blow...Terra's shotgun simply ripped through both viruses before the swordsman could take a swing at it. Oh well, at least he got a neat chip in the end.

"Whew," Durandal panted as he surveyed the battlefield. "That battle was ore difficult than I had surmised. Still, we prevailed. Are thou injured Terra?"

"You are pretty injured yourself, Durandal." Katherine interjected. "Maybe we should back out for now?"

"Nay," Durandal shook his head. "This is oddly enjoyable. I would continue on if Terra is fine with it."

"Fine," Katherine said as she slotted in a subchip. "But I am sending you a subchip. You are down to 50% health and I won't see you head into another battle unprepared."

The Navi nodded as a small glass bottle appeared in his grasp. He unstopped the bottle and glanced at the ruby colored liquid held within. He smiled to Terra, raising the bottle in a silent toast, and gulped down the liquid. He felt the effects immediately, a warm washing over his wounds. he was almost as good as new.

Durandal dropped the vial to the ground, the glass vanishing into nothing before it could shatter, and bent down to gather up his share of the spoils. The ElecReel battlechip interested him greatly, though he didn't spend much time analyzing it. He would leave that to Katherine while he continued his travels.

"Shall we continue?"

[Used a Mini Energy Pack +50hp]

((Battle 5?!?!))
"Tch," Terra clicked her tongue, releasing the battlechip data from her control. Breathing in slowly, she felt the fatigue wash through her as the rush of battle left her thoughts. Closing her eyes, she attempted to access the healing process Scarlet had coded, but found it fizzled out. "Scarlet, why is the healing process unavailable for use?" she inquired.

"Ah, that. The Signature Attack system I'm using limits use according to strength of attack, in order to prevent crashing it. There is an automatic-use function, but I need to upgrade you enough to handle the load," explained Scarlet.

"I am injured currently, and Durandal seems to want to go on further. From the battles we've gone through, I expect harder ones. Is there no way for me to heal myself?" she asked. Scarlet went silent for a while, tapping her way through the PET's menus. After a few seconds, she snapped her fingers and replied, "I'm sending in an Energy Pack. It'll put your healing processes into overcharge for a second, and should heal you enough that we can go on."

As the data packet transferred itself, Terra felt her hands filling with warmth, and a green glow emerged from them like when she used her healing process. She pressed it to her middle, and the glow diffused into her, restoring her energy to near-full. "Thank you, Scarlet," she said.

"You're welcome," replied Scarlet. "Oh, one more thing. That Boomerang chip I gave you has been traded out for a stronger Sword chip I found on a chip-trading site."

"Understood," said Terra. She walked over to Durandal, who had just downed a healing potion of some sort. Nodding to her ally, she walked alongside him.

"Yes, let's go."

[MiniEnergyPack @ Self, Heal 50]
[Battle 5 - Ready!]
The pair was soon drawn towards cheesy carnival music and a small crowd of navis gathered around what looked to be a makeshift kiosk. There was one navi in charge, orchestrating a group of moving black paper shilouettes performing arcobatic feats. The navi was wearing sleek white armour, decorated with black spotted patterns, reminiscent of a die. A large red circular visor on a white helmet obscured the navi's face from view but didn't hinder his booming voice.

"SIGN UP NOW FOR FREE BATTLECHIPS AND JOIN A GROWING COMMUNITY OF LIKE-MINDED INDIVIDUALS. AS A LIMITED TIME OFFER, WE'RE GIVING AWAY THESE LITTLE GUYS AS A BONUS!"

The host navi motioned for one of his two dimensional acrobats to come over and spun it around to display its unremarkable appearance. It was about half his height and followed his commands unerringly. It seemed to possess no intelligence of its own but still held the appeal of some of the normal navis huddled around the stall. Some of them had already begun to sign up to whatever this was and claiming their free prizes.

Durandal: 140 HP
Terra: 145 HP
As Durandal and Terra continued their trek through the SciLabs network, knightly Navi allowed his mind to wander. It had been some time since their last battle and he allowed himself to relax, confident on his NetOp's ability to track any approaching viruses. He removed his helmet as he walked, allowing it to dematerialize, and ran a gloved hand through his dark hair. His gray eyes glanced at Terra and the Navi offered a slight smile.

Their trek had gone well so far. Katherine had been able to gain a wide variety of combat data for use in her novel and Durandal had met a worthy companion for future adventures. Not to mention that he had earned a good sum of Zenny along with a few battlechips. His FireHit and MagBolt had proven themselves in combat so far and his new ElecReel looked promising. He couldn't wait to utilize it in a real battle.

Durandal's ears caught the sound of music in the distance, a childish tune that seemed more in place at a circus than in the middle of SciLabs. The Navi peered ahead of him and caught sight of a small crowd of Navi gathered around some sort of booth. Durandal nodded for Terra to follow him and wandered closer to investigate.

The group of Navi were gathered around a kiosk where a single Navi looked to be attempting to sell something or other. A group of black silhouettes were performing acrobatic feats in time with the music in the background. Durandal wasn't exactly sure what was going on, but the Navi was offering the silhouettes in exchange for the crowd agreeing to join an organization of some sort.

"What doth thou think this is?" Durandal asked Terra. "It looks like a festival of some sort, though that man seems to be a barker."

"I wonder what he is offering," Katherine mused. "It sounds like he's trying to get people to join an organization. Some free battlechips would be nice to pad our arsenal and those little guys look interesting."

"Mayhap those silhouettes are a form of Support Program?" Durandal asked.

"Perhaps," Katherine agreed.

Durandal glanced at Terra, a single eyebrow raised in question.

"Shall we see what this 'community of like-minded individuals' has to offer?"
Meanwhile, as Durandal recounted their travels in his head, Terra's mind was a little less populated at the time, leaning more towards careful contemplation of what to do next. Her hands went absently towards her hair; she ran her fingers through it without a clear purpose. Unlike all of her recent behaviors, which usually had their reasons, this was something new.

The habit was slowly starting to stick on her, Scarlet observed, and this she noted with interest. The fickle property of the Hikari-Augmentation Artificial Intelligence she had studied for quite some time was starting to show, and she took the opportunity to write down a few notes on her observations.

As Terra played with her hair, she turned to observe Durandal. Surprise took her as Durandal took his dark-colored helmet off, exposing the knight's face to Terra for the first time. She saw the black-haired Navi run a hand through his hair, turn towards her, and smile. She swallowed involuntarily. Her brief reprieve was interrupted, however, as a sensation of a large group of Navis came within noticeable radius of their location.

She noticed her ally had noticed the noise as well, and nodded at her to follow. She did so without a word, until they came upon the collection of Normal Navis huddled around some sort of temporary kiosk. A strange, cheery kind of music came from the kiosk, which had some kind of quality that Terra disliked for some reason.

"SIGN UP NOW FOR FREE BATTLECHIPS AND JOIN A GROWING COMMUNITY OF LIKE-MINDED INDIVIDUALS. AS A LIMITED TIME OFFER, WE'RE GIVING AWAY THESE LITTLE GUYS AS A BONUS!"

The booming voice was unmistakable as belonging to the kiosk operator. White-armored, decorated with spots of black here and there, Terra found the way the Navi lured others with his exceedingly cheerful voice detestable. She did not voice her thoughts, however, as Durandal asked her of them on the strange spectacle.

"I don't think that it is large enough to warrant the definition of a carnival, but maybe a small attraction the operator decided to put up," Terra commented. By then, she had stopped playing with her hair, and her hands were at her sides. "What do you think, Scarlet?"

"Hmm, I don't really know," Scarlet said. "I don't know what are those 'little guys' he's talking of. They don't seem to be any kind of generic novelty program I've seen before, their movements are a bit too complex. That would mean it's some kind of specialized program."

"Would getting these by joining the person's 'community' be advantageous?" inquired Terra. Honestly, she did not like the die-patterned person, but she was intrigued by those little men he commanded.

"Specialized programs aren't usually given out for free, I think. Neither are battlechips," replied Scarlet warily. After some consideration, she continued, "Still, try and found out what it is. Never hurt to pass up an opportunity. Be on your guard."

Terra nodded at her operator's suggestion, and turned to Durandal. "Shall we see what this 'community of like-minded individuals' has to offer?" he asked. Terra nodded twice, approaching the stand along with Durandal. She did not say anything, but merely observed among the sea of people there.
((I will be leaving for a week starting on Tuesday, October 5))

Not willing to participate just yet, the two stood to observe just exactly what the navi was offering and what he was asking for in return. As bolder navis walked right up to the stand and inquired, Durandal and Terra noticed that far more people seemed turned off by the booth navi's propositions and were walking away empty handed. Even a fraction of the few who seemed willing to comply were being rejected. As the crowd began to dwindle, some forms circulated their way to the pair of navis.

Just as they finished reading over the file, the booth navi activated some kind of celebratory chime and held a spectator's hand in the air, exclaiming, "WE HAVE A NEW RECRUIT!"

Immediately, the black shilouettes stopped their activities to give a hearty round of applause. Spurred into the act by the sound of clapping, what remained of the crowd of navis clapped along politely.
"Hmmm?"

The form that had been passed over to the two looked pretty simple. Terra looked over the file with a disinterested look on her face, scanning the text for anything that sparked her interest. She found none, and asked her operator about it. "Scarlet, what do you think of this R.N.G. organization?" she inquired, transferring the file over to Scarlet.

Skimming through the file, she commented, "I can't say much from this thing alone, but it looks like they're advocates for... something. The group's name also nags me, it sounds really familiar somehow, but I can't quite place my finger on it." She contemplated on it for a second, then continued, "Go ahead and fill it out however you want."

Terra nodded wordlessly, and started editing the textfile.

Not enough data has been collected to answer this question properly.

Why do you think unpredictability can be a good thing?

Unpredictability can be used for a variety of functions such as in an uncertain situation to make decisions, in lieu of adequate and conclusive data.

After that, she looked up to find that one of the members of the audience had been selected for membership. Not bothering to clap, she turned to Durandal, holding up her form. "Are you sending this in as well?" she asked.
"Hmm," Durandal mused as he looked over the application. "What dost thou think milady?"

"Well, I've certainly never heard of this R.N.G. before," Katherine answered. "I wonder what it stands for? Really Negative Gnomes perhaps?"

"Mayhap," Durandal answered in a deadpan tone. "Shall I answer the questionnaire?"

"It couldn't hurt and it looks like Terra is filling it out as well. Maybe we'll get lucky and get one of those shadow things."

Durandal nodded and began to fill out the application. He put some thought into the questions, but attempted to finish the questionnaire quickly. He noticed that Terra had only used Scarlet's first name and so used a pseudonym for Katherine just in case.

Given that you would never be held accountable for your actions, what would you do to change the world?

I do not have aspirations to alter the world. I am content with my current duties.

Why do you think unpredictability can be a good thing?

Unpredictability does have certain uses on the battlefield. If thou canst outmaneuver thy opponent, thou shall have the advantage in most altercations.

Durandal glanced around him at the sound of clapping and realized that a member of the crowd had been granted acceptance. He clapped politely, though he wasn't sure why it was such a momentous occasion. He could only assume that eligibility for R.N.G. was rather strict. He nodded to Terra in answer to her question and turned in his application.
The navi behind the booth gathered the form from Terra first and then from Durandal. He read over the first document, mouthing and emphasizing certain words slightly, "Okay... Let's see... Ground. Five, five, five... Five. Five. Ehh... Data... Uncertain situ... Ahhh... Okay."

His expression didn't seem too approving but he quickly flipped the page and scanned over Durandal's with the same level of enthusiasm, mumbling in much the same manner. He passed a look back up at the navis and erased the files with a wave of his hand and clapped his palms together once.

"I'm sorry, but you're just not quite what we're looking for. Thanks for coming out though." He said in an unamplified voice.

The kiosk owner turned his attention back to the other navi who was what he was looking for and began to talk to him at length. The rest of the crowd had finally lost interest and began to walk away.
"Hmm, it looks like we have not been accepted," said Terra, with only the slightest hint of disappointment. "Seems so," commented Scarlet. The Navi shrugged, rubbing the back of her neck. She turned around, and gestured to Durandal. "There is not much of interest here. Let us go and search for more viruses," she said, pulling on her gloves to straighten them out. "Or do you wish to do something else?"
"I'm not sure," Durandal said.

He wasn't exactly disappointed that he wasn't R.N.G. material, but he was slightly irked by the missed chance for adventure. In the meantime, his duties for Katherine were more than enough to keep him occupied. He glanced around him and back at Terra, coming to a conclusion.

"I suppose we should let those subchips go to waste. Shall we continue on?"
The two navis moved on, weary of what the booth operator had to offer, deciding to look for more combat-oriented challenges. The duo found got what they wanted in the form of three surprisingly large, menacing-looking viruses. One appeared very similar to a Swordy, though this one was wielding a fat metallic blade in its disembodied hands with spikes protruding from its body. Another one could only be described as a flaming four legged beast, though still distinct from a Spikey. The third of the trio was a large eagle-like virus that soared overhead, circling the battlefield like a vulture. Too far to strike with conventional weapons, it waited for an opportune moment to attack.

[Battle 5 - Begin!]
"Viruses."

Immediately getting into a defensive position, Terra surveyed the new viruses. They certainly looked a lot larger than the ones they had encountered so far, and a far bit more menacing. The sword-wielder held a massive blade in its grasp, looking extremely dangerous with its spiked armor and general atmosphere. The flaming beast stood tall and mighty, its flickering fires undeterred by the Navis' presence. Lastly, a large eagle soared through the sky without reserve, out of reach of normal weaponry.

"Wait, Terra," interrupted Scarlet. She thumbed through the holographic visual feed in front of her, zooming the display. Her mind flipped through the pages of Holt's Virus Behavior, but even after straining her memory, she came up blank. Frustrated, she set her mind to observe the strange new viruses instead.

"These don't look like viruses... although they do greatly resemble normal ones. Proceed with caution. I'm sending in MarkCannon," warned Scarlet, tapping the screen to transfer the battlechip. Leaning back on the bench, she stared at the screen with a serious look in her eyes and held out her hands on a holographic keyboard.

Terra mumbled an affirmation, and turned to Durandal. Nodding to him, she returned her focus towards the viruses, determined. She then clapped her hands together, intertwining her fingers forcefully. A circle of soil appeared before her, from which a fist of earth arose. The hand was lifted from the ground smoothly, as if it was a pool. The circle of soil spread quickly, turning the immediate area around Terra and Durandal into natural earth.

Beneath the other viruses on the ground, the same circle started to form, but it was a damp and unpleasant-looking mud, which dried out at the middle into coarse, deep sand once it began to spread. It was a good way to hopefully delay the enemy's movements and give them enough room to attack, as before. She calmed her breathing after the transformation, feeling the soft, malleable earth under her boots. Sensing the vibrations and the signals transmitted through the terrain, she prepared herself to expect an attack and sidestep it.

Meanwhile, the fist prepared earlier began to change from its original composition. Its light soil color from before changed into a deep sable that had a glossy texture to it. Suddenly, small vines shot out of the ground and engulfed the fist, forming what seemed to be a small cannon. The vine-cannon bent itself in the direction of the hawk virus, and launched the fist with a bang. Attached to the fist was a trail of strong vine, that would ensnare the bird if a successful hit was scored. The vines were probably not strong enough to restrain the bird, but they should be able to ground the avian virus without much trouble.

"Yes," Katherine agreed. "I have never seen their like. They seem incredibly strong. It makes me wonder how they reached the SciLabs network without detection by the NetPolice."

"No matter the route these beasts have transversed to arrive, we must make certain they do not wreck havoc here. If we fall, there shall be no one to warn the crowd behind us. How dost thou want to handle this encounter, Terra? Shall we focus our strength or attempt to whittle them all down together?"

Durandal held his sword at the ready, hilt gripped with both hands and blade poised in front of him. His helmet materialized on his head, visor sliding shut. He glanced from one virus to the next, attempting to discern any apparent weakness. The sword wielding virus looked quite formidable and the large blade in its hands looked capable of cleaving a normal Navi in twain. The next virus was a creature crafted from the very element of fire. Durandal didn't fear the flames, but nor did he have any weapons to combat them. The third virus was a massive hawk flying high above the battlefield. Durandal thought it was mimicking him, seeking out a weakness to exploit with a pulverizing dive.

Durandal felt the ground shift beneath his feet and glanced down to see a field of grass sprout from the panels. He didn't gain the same benefits from the terrain that Terra did and didn't want to be at the mercy of the fiery creature. He began to circle the battlefield, hoping to move away from the grass and flank the three creatures before he was attacked. He glanced at Terra as she formed her stone fist, the rock being slowly engulfed in thick vines. He wasn't sure what his partner had in mind, but he was certain it would be potent.

"Milady," Durandal said. "Send me the new battlechip. I shall attempt to use it to weaken all of the viruses at once and test their strength before engaging in close combat."

He felt the surge of data wash over him as Katherine slotted in the battlechip. The energy spread throughout his body as he guided it toward the sword held tightly in his hand. Electricity sparked along the blade, gathering into a fierce current. Durandal raised the sword above his head, inverting the blade, and plunged it into the panel beneath him. The wave of electricity surged along the ground, arcing toward the group of viruses. The Navi glanced up in time to see Terra fire the vine wrapped fist at the circling hawk virus. With luck, the projectile would knock the virus from the sky in time for it to be electrocuted with its brethren.

Durandal ripped his sword from the ground and charged forward, moving in a line parallel to the virus group. He hoped to avoid any retaliation from the three viruses, or at least break up the group to allow Terra and him to focus on one virus at a time.
