First connection.

The little cat winced slightly as the attacks on him whiffed by a hair. He didn't particularly like fighting viruses, but it was necessary. Digging his paws into the ground, the grey blur assessed the situation. With two idiots setting mines and the cracked terrain moving was going to be nigh impossible, which could prove dodging especially difficult. It was clear now, this fight was about strategy and threat assessment. He woud need to plan one step ahead. Tapping his foot paw on the ground he magnetized the area around him. It wouldn't be a permanent solution but he needed space to manouver. Now, threat assessment. The Cacti was going to be the biggest problem, but at this point it was going to be less of him attacking and more him reacting against this seven on one.

Focus. Fight. Win.

Nightshade's body flowed fluidly from one stance to another, on all fours and then back standing. He was taking a risk, but he needed that bunny dead. He needed less threats to deal with. Swiping his metallic claws together he created a spark. With a snap of his fingers the spark was sent off at the bunny lightning fast to hopefully deal with it.

Transforming the field to his advantage, the magnetic fields overwrote a good amount of terrain, crackling with energy as they grounded many of the combatants, including the Spooky ghost directly in front of him, the Shrubby hiding behind the cube, and one of the Miners. While Nightshade himself opted to focus on the weakest member of the seven, the Mimic opted to take a slightly more active stance, spinning in place as it ejected a small ball of glitchy data towards him. He managed to avoid it in time with his fancy footwork, but the ball of energy seemed to linger slightly longer, swerving back around to slowly drift back towards him. Around the area, the sounds of the viruses struggling with the magnetic pull of the terrain could be heard. The Cacty virus, having missed in its first run, tried once more to hurl its needle-ridden head towards him--only to be met with resounding failure once more as it missed yet again, though it did manage to cancel out some of the magnetic charge with its attack. The Miners set about doing what they always have, disappearing into the floor with black disks and reappearing shortly after without them, though Nightshade could hear the dim beeping of the inlaid explosives more clearly now. He got to business quickly, creating a small spark that he launched towards the trapped Bunny, instantly deleting it through its weakened state.

A Mystery Data bisected horizontally, with a shadowy core binding the halves together. Two menacing red eyes leer out from the shadows in the crack between them, and a swirl of dark energy of the same color as the data whirls around the entire virus constantly. A Mimic only spawns if an MD is present, and the roll to check contents comes up as a Trap. The MD then becomes a single Mimic. Mimics do not ever appear otherwise. Once triggered, a Mimic either mass summons Viruses, Navis, or other Battle Programs for the next battle number, or mass teleports all allies to the location of the next battle (which is always within the same network area), and the battle begins immediately. These mass summon and mass teleport abilities are unique to Mimics, and cannot be emulated. When a Mimic is defeated, it reverts to MD form. At this point, it becomes ethereal, and cannot be damaged in any way.

Nightshade took note of the homing shot. This was going to be a battle of endurance. He was still six on one, but at the very least one of the threats had been dealth with. Now he needed to chip at the various viruses' health, while remaining extremely mobile. Which was going to prove extremely difficult. However, one of the miners were exposed, so he needed to risk it. Rushing in, he weaved across the battlefield, before assaulting the miner with everything he got, hoping to knock off another threat off the list. His muscles tensed up as he squeezed every last bit of speed out of his body to ensure his claw swipes would hit the target.

Keeping himself agile through his freshly minted magnetic battlefield, Nightshade lashed out at the Miner with his claws, managing to land two hits before it sank back into the ground in tandem with its partner to avoid the last one. More beeping indicated that the field grew ever more dangerous by the second, though Nightshade had been able to rely on his luck that he hadn't stepped on any of the traps yet. Further proving it, a Cacty's green head bounced by behind him, though this time it was a lot closer for comfort. The Spooky and Shrubby were also still unable to move from their spots, held in place by the strong magnetic fields. The Mimic's glitched data ball hovered lazily by his side, before dissipating into thin air. Unsatisfied with its previous attack, the Mimic then repeated the same attack, which hovered close to him in about the same manner.

Caution before pride, Nightshade did his best to keep careful watch on his almost overwhelming array of enemies while he worked to whittle them away. The two miners nodded. but as they went to sink beneath the ground again, one of them seemed to get stuck momentarily. It struggled, making small viral grumbles to itself as it couldn't seem to get free of the magnetic panel it was nestled in currently, and its buddy got back from planting a fresh mine before he managed to get free.

Even so, the ground was filled with ominous beeping now, and there was almost as much rigged ground as not, now. The Cacty didn't have to worry about this, and instead flung its head again, with no improvement in its luck or accuracy, and there was still no sign of the Shrubby, presumably still hiding behind its cube — though whether that was from fear, or because it was stuck to the magnet panels was anyone's guess for now.

Nightshade managed to take the moment to deliver a swift double slash to the Spooky virus near him, successfully wiping the grin off its face before it could make itself any more of a threat, and somewhere to his left, the second glitch ball of the Mimic passed by, crackling. The Mimic gave a small shudder, growing bored with the slow inaccurate attack, and opened its central facets, folding back as a bright light formed in its core. A moment later, a thick bar of blinding white force exploded out from the crystal in a devastating beam of energy that Nightshade only just barely managed to dodge out of the way of with a timely flip.

His feet landed on the panel behind him and the ground shifted slightly, but the moment of tension ended without an explosion. He was safe, for now... though with the increasing number of mines the young navi was probably testing his luck the more he moved, now. Looking up from the landing, he'd also be able to see that the beam of energy had completely incinerated one of the rock cubes as it passed through on its way to him; that was one attack to avoid, it seemed.

Nightshade frowned as the ground beneath his paws crackled under his weight. Another virus had been dealt with. Still a heavily disadvantaged 5 on 1, he considered his options. Moving was becoming a gamble more and more. But his limited number of chips kida forced him into an aggressive stance. He wanted to kill the damaged miner, hopefully without getting his legs blown off. Then, Nightshade realized something. Beep Beep Beep...it wasn't so much of a gamble as it actually was a matter of hearing. He would need to concentrate, but he could make out the beeping of the mines. And if he did that, he could avoid the mined panels just fine.

Remaining extremely mobile, he slashed at the wounded miner, hoping to knock another threat off the list. Boy how much did he wish to gut the nasty thing for all the trouble he was giving him. He wanted to brutalize its body into tiny shreds of data. He wanted it erased from existance. Not to forget the other one, of course. While he couldn't do anything right now, no one stopped him from roaring in the guy's face. He was coming for him. He was next.

Accuracy: B / B then B
Description: Creates an impressive bear claw. Can be used to slash or throw enemies or objects.
Duration: Until Overridden/Broken. Breaks automatically after 6 uses.
Element: Null
Special: Throw: The wielder must first grab the target to be thrown, then the target is thrown in the direction/area indicated. A second check is made if against another object/enemy. Throw deals damage to both thrown object/enemy and the second object/enemy. Damage occurs at point of collision with the ground/wall/ceiling/etc. or an object/enemy, not during initial grab attempt. Objects deal their max HP in damage (instead of the chip's damage) if they hit an object/enemy, then break. If they miss, the object just takes the chip's damage. This chip has a variety of uses.

Listening to the beeping of the Mines laid by the two hooded viruses, Nightshade's stance became more and more desperate as he tried to maneuver around the traps--and in the process, went one step too far in trying to keep himself moving quickly. His weight shifted itself onto a cracked tile and caused it to collapse altogether, dropping him into a hole in the network. The cascade of misfortune continued as the hole he had fallen into was also the resting place of a beeping mine. The explosion racked his body quite thoroughly (-50) and he was in pretty bad shape. To make things worse, he could hear the viruses above continue to move with the Miners' telltale shuffle, proliferating the explosives around him.

(-10x2Elementx2Hit) The Miners continued to sink into the ground, and the area around him was littered further with destructive traps. Further in the background, a sinister laughter could be heard from the spinning Mystery Data monster, protecting itself with a barrier as it let its minions destroy the Navi.
