A long night in Toronto....

Well, there was certainly no question what the approaching figures' intentions were. They had already started shooting before even so much as reaching the train. No chance of getting them to stand down before things got messy either, then. Resigning himself to that, Kale tucked the tablet into a pocket of his coat and drew his 1911. Aiming at the approaching figure who had started shooting as carefully as he could when they were both still not discernible as more as silhouettes and moving, he squeezed the trigger.
Kale's old model 1911 booms in the station as he fires at the silhouettes. He is unable to discern if his shot connected, but the rightmost silhouette thinks better of his headlong charge and starts to move off to the right, apparently trying to interpose the train car between himself and Kale. He fires a shot in Kale's direction, but the bullet, apparently fired in haste, just ricochets off the concrete ceiling somewhere. Nobody is hurt. Behind Kale, the lead EMT shrieks at the sound of gunfire while the EMT in the rear yells a random expletive just before he starts muttering to himself: "Just keep moving. Just keep moving." The duo try to pick up the pace towards the exit, but this increase in speed is not spectacular, being somewhere around a slow jog. The female EMT glances at Elizabeth and says "Get out of here," in a strained voice.

Liz had gotten safely behind the cement pillar, but it wasn't long before a startling noise caused her to scream. Repeated gunfire rang out only moments after she had taken cover, and she couldn't help but think what could have happened if she hadn't done so.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?" She exclaimed cowering behind her temporary safety zone.

She wasn't sure what to do in a situation like this. She was frightened. She probably would have continued to sit there behind the pillar in a daze, if the EMT hadn't called out to her.

"O-okay!"

Liz was a bit shakey as she looked towards the stairs to the area. She glanced over towards Kale, but knowing full well she couldn't do anything to help, she ran as hard as she could for the exit.
While Elizabeth took off for the stairs leading up and out of the station, the left most gunman darted left towards the wall. His silhouette disappeared into the shadows, and the man elected not to take a shot at Kale.
The EMTs and witness made a break, or in the case of the former as much of a break as they could safely manage, for the exit, and Kale was perfectly fine with that. Meanwhile, one of the gunman moved out of sight, while the other moved toward the other side of the train. Kale took aim, leading just enough that if he missed, the shot would hopefully still discourage him from moving toward the train, and fired again.
Kale's aimed shot fells the silhouette, Meanwhile, the EMTs continue to make 5their way towards the exit at their best speed while carrying the unconscious man on the stretcher between them.

Liz didn't want to stop, she didn't know what would happen if she hesitated for a moment. She just tried to keep moving up and out of the subway as fast as she could.

"What do we do once we're out of here?!" She called to one of the EMT, not really sure where to go once she got out.
There was movement from the shadows on the left side of the tunnel as the gunman stuck his weapon out from cover... and sprayed a full-auto hail of bullets in Kale's direction. Most went wide, but the law of averages played no favorites. One of the shots grazed the top of Kale's right shoulder, causing quite a bit of pain as the bullet glanced off the bone. Another bullet grazed his torso lightly, adding a hole or two to his attire and smarting a bit.

Kale gritted his teeth as a bullet sliced through his shoulder, causing it and his arm to explode with pain. His hand instinctively loosened his grip on his gun, but by shifting it into his left hand he was able to avoid dropping it. Another bullet grazed his side, but apart from also hurting a bit it was a bit easier to ignore.

He took a quick glance toward the exit of the station, seeing that the EMTs had almost made it out, then made a break for the nearest support pillar. Once behind it, he leaned against it and poked his head out, waiting for the shooter to make a move.
As Kale began his dash for cover, the downed, but apparently not quite out, gunman fired a short burst at the detective. None of the shots hit, and the pillar Kale took shelter behind intercepted a couple. This gunman's weapon wasn't just a pistol either. From here, Kale could stand and fight, or make a break for the exit. The latter was exactly what everyone else was doing, and they were all more or less close to succeeding.

The lead EMT shouted at Elisabeth: "Just run. The ambulance is open." Not particularly helpful, but....

but it was helpful enough, as Liz just continued to run for a specified goal now. At least she knew if she could reach the ambulance she might get out of here ok. It was enough of a direction for now.
The hidden gunman again sprayed the place Kale has once stood with full-auto fire. Good thing Kale was no longer there to be a bullet sponge.
Kale stayed behind the pillar and waited. So long as the gunmen were continuing to spray bullets into the station, one of them was bound to run out and have to change magazines sooner or later. That would be the time to move.
Neither gunman fired a shot for a brief moment. Meanwhile, the EMTs made it to the stairs, and started climbing out of the station. Elizabeth, on the other hand, was now at the top of the stairs and could see the ambulance parked before her, with the rear doors open.

As Liz kept on the move towards the ambulance, suddenly a brief thought popped into her head.

"Keena! Can you detect any more signals now? more signals near that detective, or the subway system or something? I might have an idea."

Keena didn't bother to respond, she just nodded as she got to work trying to find anything she could for Liz.

Meanwhile Liz was looking to her surroundings, seeing if there was anything that might be useful in the current situation, an alternative to jumping into the back of a vehicle and taking off for good.
Liz's alternatives boiled down to the bus stop a block away, trying to jack the car that was parked nearby, or just running off into the night. Her scan of the area was too hurried for anything else about her surroundings to have registered. Keena, meanwhile, managed to detect the ambulance with her search. Everything that could or would have been underground, save for the oddball kalephone x2 that both had all of 1 red bar apiece, was blocked. There were other wifi spots in the area, but it was pretty clear that they didn't have anything to do with what went on below, nor were they going to be of help. At least, it was fairly sure the locked networks of nearby businesses and crappy eatery hotspots weren't going to help much. The ambulance wifi was also protected, but the signal was super strong by comparison.

One of the gunmen fired a couple of shots at the corner of the pillar Kale had taken shelter behind.

"And I think it's time to retreat," Kale muttered to himself, making a break from the pillar toward the exit and glancing back toward the tunnel occasionally as he went.
Kale makes it up the stairs on the heels of the burdened EMTs. He sees them head straight for the open back end of the ambulance parked on the sidewalk, and begin loading their patient into the back as quickly as possible. One of the EMTs, the woman, speaks to someone inside the ambulance: "Move over a bit, I need to get in." His own car is parked nearby. The male EMT, after shoving the patient into the back of the vehicle, glances at Kale. "You should come with us, sir. You're injured." The man closes the rear doors of the ambulance as he speaks.
Liz was already in the ambulance at this point, feeling a bit cramped in the back. At least it was better than being down in the subway still.

"Okay..." She responded to the EMT, as she slowly shuffled over to make some more room.
"I'll follow behind," Kale said, making his way to his car, unlocking it, and pulling the door open. "I can still drive."
