Okay, TECHNICALLY, this is a rebirth of SmogMan. However, I will be keeping Alda as the operator, so it's not a 100% rebirth, but will still follow the rules. All stuff like chip, upgrades, etc., will be transferred over, while FXP will be all dropped (SmogMan had no SPs or BugFrags).
FLIMSY RATIONALE: It's still Alda. Why would she throw away her stuff? She wouldn't, that's why.
Operator
Name: Alda Hyde
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Appearance: Alda stands at a moderate 5'5", but weighs a not-so-moderate 108 lbs. As one might expect, she's extremely thin, and some would wonder how she even manages to support herself while standing.
She has long green hair that extends down all the way to her waist, and since her breakdown, tends to allow it to just flow downward. She has matching big green eyes, but they seem slightly less huge now that she's gotten thinner rimmed glasses that actually look like they were made in 20XX, and she's still as good as blind without them. Atop her head often lays a custom made witch's hat, though it remains unadorned aside from a purple band at the base. On the band is her Navi's emblem: a stylized black cauldron with a stirring stick, and emitting some sort of steam or smoke.
A change of tastes has resulted in a change of attire...if what she wears can even constitute attire anymore. The entirety of Alda's torso covering is best described as 'a black strapless bra', except for the fact the space between her breasts remains uncovered. Her lower body clothing is little more than a black thong bikini bottom, though it's helped slightly by a knee long sheer skirt. Over all of this, she wears a black cape with purple lining that extends to her thighs. She wears detached purple sleeves over her arms, and for footwear, she now has purple, open-toed high heels, with approximately one inch heels.
Personality: Alda was once a quiet, reserved woman, but after cracking, she's become more socially outgoing, much less afraid to speak her mind. Unfortunately, she's also gotten a bit more self-centered and short tempered, so she's not quite as empathetic as she was before, perfectly willing to cast curses over perfectly benign issues. Her spirit remains as tough as ever; if anything, it may be even stronger, making her a sort you don't want to cross.
PET Modifications: A dark purple Link PET. It doesn't have much in the way of extra features, but it does have extensive data on various chemicals and herbs.
Navi
Name: Anathema.EXE
Gender: Female
Element: Normal
Subtype: Variable
Subtype Active: Transform
Subtype Passive: Debuff
Appearance: Anathema stands at about 5'9", but very seldom appears to be that height, as she often floats a few inches above the ground, and even when standing, her boots tend to add a few inches.
Despite her witch theme, her headgear more resembles a Navi helmet than anything one would normally associate with a witch...or the front of one, anyway. The front half of her head consists of a dull bronze plate, to guard against attacks. It goes back as far as a pair of ear flaps, then suddenly stops, and allowing a purple translucent veil to trail along, down to her waist, and covering her shoulder blade length black hair. A second veil connects from the front to cover her face from the cheekbones down, but doesn't actually hide any facial features, nor is it intended to.
Her normal outfit is a dark purple dress, which rises only enough that her shoulders remain bare. From there, the middle third plummets downward, only stopping below the belly button...though, from the bottom of her chest to the bottom of the opening, it's covered by a bronze colored sash. On this sash, as well as her helmet's ear flaps, is her emblem; a stylized black cauldron with a stirring stick, and emitting some sort of steam or smoke. Oddly, only her left arm has a traditional sleeve, and her right arm simply has a purple fingerless glove that extends to the elbow. She also wears a black choker on her neck.
The lack of symmetry also applies to the lower part of her dress, as there is a single slit along the right side that extends clear up to the side of her waist. Aside from that, it extends down to her ankles. She wears plain black knee high boots, though their heels are at least 3 inches long.
When entering battle, to prevent herself from being too exposed in battle, Anathema activates thin Navi armor, to cover herself from her choker down.
Personality: Despite her name and appearance, Anathema is actually pretty friendly and even tempered, serving as the voice of reason to her operator's darker moments. If severely sleighted, however, she has an extremely vengeful side, and will spend entire days devising horribly dehabilitating or embarrassing curses or brews in the name of payback. She also has a tendency to ignore some basic social etiquette; she wouldn't hesitate to ask someone for a cup of their own blood, if she needed it for a potion, and wouldn't initially get why someone would refuse such a request.
Custom Weapon: Anathema is capable of firing bursts of dark magic at will.

- 2 TCD
Total Points Used: 60/140

PurpleFog.GMO - Anathema borrows from her 'father's' abilities, and becomes a formless mass of dark purple mist. She can't maintain this form for long, though, and will automatically reform into her default appearance after a short period of time.
EXTRA HISTORY TO EXPLAIN THIS
---------------------------------------------------
As it turned out, an innocent party Dharma Heart-Payne had held for her employees would irrevocably alter the life of one party. During it, two sisters, Alda and Rhonda Hyde, spent some of their time engaging the CEO, during which some...less than savory things were brought to light. Though she grinned and beared it at first, a few days later, both were fired on false grounds, in a fit of disgust. This hit Rhonda hard, but Alda was completely blindsided, having absolutely no idea why a promising young scientist would get axed for seemingly no reason. She went home, incredibly depressed that she somehow lost what was probably the best opportunity she'd ever had, but fell short of despair.
Life quickly fixed that, however, as SmogMan began to show signs of data corruption. His unstable programming, unknown to either him or his operator, had been deteriorating at a rapid rate, and that night had reached the point of no return. There was little she could do as her Navi disintegrated into nothingness...in one day, she had lost both her dream job, and one of her best friends. And on that day, she would never be the same.
The combined stress caused something inside Alda to twist, and snap. While checking things on the internet in a desperate scramble to find information that could somehow save SmogMan, she came across an old adage: 'Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.' Yet, if that was true, it could be reversed, as well: 'Magic is indistinguishable from sufficiently advanced technology'. ...It was so simple, yet so easily missed. Magic was nothing more than a field of science, and one that had been abandoned in modern times. This was a clear mistake. But it was one that could be reversed. She simply needed to bring it to the forefront of people's minds. Over the following weeks, she began to study magic, combining it with her knowledge of chemistry to become an alchemist. Her usual labware get-up wouldn't cut it anymore, not with this new, exciting field...she ditched it, eventually choosing attire she felt more at ease in; so what if there wasn't all that much of it?
Soon, there was just too much research for a single person to handle. She needed an aide to handle it all...but people would get even more weirded out than usual around her if she started putting up flyers. The answer was simple; get a new Navi. She had, by sheer fortune, managed to save a small, stable portion of SmogMan's programming before his deletion. She could incorporate that into her Navi, and then it would be like his child. Ha, that was some magic there...getting someone to reproduce despite being dead. And so, she created a Navi, this time using every resource she could to make sure they would be more stable. Since people were starting to call her a witch, Alda decided to embrace the concept, making a witch's hat for herself, and giving her new Navi a theme around the dark arts, such as hexes. Of course, cursing would just make the cursed curse her name...hmm, that sounded like the basis for a good name. She wouldn't just be anathema to them...but, in fact, would actually be called Anathema.
In a few short months, they had made quite a bit of headway, even opening a small shop that sold their successful potions and brews. Having heard about this, and not having heard directly from her sister in quite some time, Rhonda decided to pay her a visit, to see if the rumors of a modern times witch were true or not, and whether the loving sister she knew still existed.
