Blech, I don't even want to think of the specs required to play Halo 3. And Halo 2 was just very recently released for the PC. And Oblivion, sure, forgot about that. But my point still remains. I dunno man, from where I'm sitting it's pretty clear what's the system to buy.
But enough of that. Moving on, got some news on Bioshock. Consider this my pre-review report. To start, I'm kind of dissapointed. Let's start with the difficulty. It *seems* really hard, at least on hard mode. The enemies are insane and powerful and Big Daddies are just plain scary. Getting slammed by one literally throws you across the room. From a first-person perspective, that is scary as crap. But the fact is, the game really isn't hard. If you die, you pop back at the nearest revitalization chamber and all the enemies stay exactly the same as when you left them. You can literally just take your wrench and kill all of the enemies of the game with it, you'll just die a lot in the process. The fact that death doesn't really stop you really takes out alot of the accomplishment of taking down a Big Daddy. Granted, you could just reset the game, but that'd take too long and be too much of a hassle. Highly dissapointed there. And another issue is exploration. The Medical Area, the first real stage of the game, is a dream come true. It's full of interesting, exciting, terrifying moments and is full of places that you have the choice to explore, but only if you can figure out how to get there first. Very cool. But after that... it seems like the game does what every other shooter does and just kind of railroads you to where you need to be. There's no incentive for exploration except picking up bullets and health. Wee. Guess what, you don't really need either of those since dying doesn't matter!
>.>
Just my problems with the game. Beyond that, very cool. I love the dark theme, the cool story, very, very cool stuff. I just wish that it was a little more challenging. Bioshock, for me, counts as one of those games that I think is good, but not interesting enough to get me addicted to play all the way through. More later, once I beat the game and write up a full review.

I have a question about a game...
there once was a pirate named gold rog...
...
...sorry...
there was a game for the SNES that was a turned based stratgey on a hexoganal grid. you played as demigods, who could summon armies of monsters. if the monsters killed enough enimies, they would become more powerful forms. also, when combat happened, the screen changed to a fighter type view, and the monsters would fight...
I think they made a new version of this game for the xbox, but both names escape me...
does anyone know the game i'm talking about? perferably for the SNES...

Hey, there was a game I heard about the other day. You shot yourself in the head with a magic gun to summon demons so you could fight monsters, or summat. Anyone know what it is?

It's the newest Persona game, either 3 or 4, I can't quite remember. I remember reading about it a little while back.
On another note completely, trying to max out some accomplishments on my old 360 games. Just got Zombie Genocide a little while back on Dead Rising (Killed over 50,000 zombies in one play through) and as a reward got Megaman's Buster, heh. Now I just gotta survive 7 days in infinity mode... *Shiver* Well, if I survive 5 I get Zero's Beam Saber, there's always that to look forward to.

Persona 4, and the 'demons' are called Stands, and they are a part of your mind. They are strengthened by having good relationships with poeple and doing well in school. Yes, it's a combination RPG Dating Sim. And the storyline sucks!

Over the chat, Naix and I determined that the game was probably Master of Monsters for the Genesis. Its sequel was Master of Monsters: Disciples of Gaia for the PS1.
I have it. Pretty substandard. ><

Yes, I have to try better at remembering which games fail before I spend a half hhour trying to download them...
now that I have the genisis emulator, does anyone know any good games for the system?

Well, for starters, the entire Sonic series.
But my personal favourites are Atomic Runner, Rocket Knights Adventure (squeeee!) and Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.

Oh, now what the hell. What. The. Hell. I have just spent the past... insane amount of hours trying to get the ridiculous 5 and 7 day survival achievements in Dead Rising Infinity Mode. No saving allowed. I have at least been playing for the last 8 hours, more than that I'm certain. I was approaching the benchmark for the 5th day, to get the achievement and the weapon that comes with it. And wouldn't you know it, the game freezes on a load screen. Oh, I am pissed. I have, like, full blown nerd rage right now and no way to vent it. ARGH! What idiot thought that this was a good idea? No saves allowed, just some ridiculous achievement that to even get you have to spend vast amounts of time waiting, just waiting for time to pass, but at the same time keeping an eye on your health to make sure your character doesn't starve to death? And no audio warning of low health either, you just kind of have to glance up every now and again.
Argh! I've been forcing myself to stay awake for the past two hours just so I could hit the 5 day mark! Damn, damn, damn! NERD RAGE TO THE MAX ><
...
...
Sigh... Better luck next time, I suppose. But damn it, that is infuriating. I couldn't have been more than four hours away, in game time, to hitting the 5 day benchmark. Damn...

Screw the Sonic series. Speedy blue rodents are fail.
You need Altered Beast. And Golden Axe...And Streets of Rage.

No, they're called 'personas'
It's got a damned good plot.
And the personas are based around your social links, yes, but they in turn each respond to a differing person/people.
