Name: Gordon Van Hurst

Appearance: Gordon has always been tall, but not especially so, leveling out at about 6'1". Once a scrawny young man, he has, in recent years, put on a great deal of muscle. His skin tone, however, has taken a turn for the worse; while he does more exercising, he does it all inside, and as a result, his skin is a gothic, pale white color. He used to have long, brown hair, but that took a turn for the worse as well and he now wears it mostly shaved, with what remains spiked into a mohawk down the center of his cranium and the back of his neck. He has recently died his hair black. His face used to be attractive, with dark, deep-set eyes and a constant, brooding, pouty set to his lips... but that, of course, took a turn for a worse when he began neglecting sleep. Dark rings now constantly line his eyes and what used to be charming aloofness in his expression now looks like the deadness of a zombie. He very rarely smiles, even when he's happy. His body is heavily tattooed and he spends more money, time, and suffering than he ought to modifying and adding tattoos. The subjects of these tattoos vary between baffling, stupid, tasteless, and pointless; almost none of them would ever be found in any standard catalog and one must wonder where he gets them.

He's not the type to give much thought to what he wears and his taste ensure that his choice of wardrobe is as indecipherable as his hair and body art preferences. Much of his wardrobe that he wears outside the house looks like a costume, often based on whatever inspiration he has at the time for his works. Around the house, where he spends most of his time, he tends to dress grungy or barely dress at all.

Personality: Gordon grew up as an introvert and probably should have stayed that way. "Outspoken" would be a nice way of describing his views about the world. His personality can really be summed up with one concept: poor taste. As he's grown, he's become very vocal about what he does and does not like, and one can generally bet that the stupider, more inane, or more senseless something is, the more attracted Gordon finds himself to it. He considers himself an artist and is, in fact, a starving artist... starving largely because his goals and likes are so far distanced from the ordinary human's that he could hardly expect to earn a living with his chosen profession as a writer/director.

He is, above all, persistent in his beliefs. It is very difficult for anyone, from his friends to professionals in his field, to dissuade him from an idea he's convinced is good (despite the fact that it almost never is). At the same time, he is flighty, and will often change up his own stories while they are in progress. He is not a mean person, but he is coldly dismissive of any attempts to help him onto a proper path through storytelling, let alone through life. He is not bitter, but he does feel misunderstood... but just as soon as he struggles to explain an idea he's had, it vanishes like a dream and he continues to another one. He is not easily discouraged.

Gordon's passion growing up was fine literature and cinematography. As he's grown, he has become mostly obsessed with horror, especially gory slasher flicks. Why is hard to say... he's not a violent person, nor is he an angry person or even a judgmental one. It may just be part of his unerring standard of having iffy taste. His stories do often come off as paranoid and skeptical, but they are usually just that: stories, with no basis in real events.

Background: Gordon grew up with a very normal family in Electown's lower income district. It's impossible to say where things went wrong. He wasn't especially bright or popular as a child, but he made it through schooling, went partway through college... then something snapped. What was a period of rebellious self expression turned into a misguided, incomprehensible, yet somehow keenly focused pursuit of self destruction. He traded his long hair and hard rock for his trademark mohawk and bizarre sensibilities with remarkable speed. Few who remain recognize him to say "Hey, that's Gordon from my old Netopian Lit. class!" He barely made it through college then continued onward to his chosen career: fiction author. He's been trying to get his foot into writing screenplays and directing, but he's equally bad at both.

No one knows much about his family. He was estranged from them before and they surrendered to his individuality to allow him self-sufficiency... they know very little of just what sort of person he's become now, especially since his works see very little publication or purchase. His mother and father are alive and well; his younger brother still lives at home, preparing to move from high school to college.

Gordon himself occupies a small apartment with two roommates and a fourth room that always seems to be on rental, unable to keep an occupant. One of the constant roomies is also his agent, who goes to great lengths to try to set him on the right path in terms of writing. To this end, the agent has recently set him up with Slay, a professional actor navi who is doing her best to teach him the ropes and lead him down the path to actually developing a good slasher story.

PET Modifications: Gordon's PET is an older model, black and gray with a lot of cheap rubber parts. He liked it because he felt like it looked old, mysterious, and storied... but it's really just cheap and crappy. Slay pointed this out when she was first transferred into it.

Appearance: Without her specialized armor or any of her costumes, Slay is a very unassuming girl of about 5'8" and the appearance of a college-age goth. Her skin is very pale and she tends to wear a lot of eye-shadow around her eyes, although not going as far as black lips or tear marks. Her pupils are a near clear gray color, giving her eyes an eerie whiteness, and her black hair mats over her head in an emo-looking way, often hiding one of her eyes as it hangs. Her facial features would be pretty, mostly, if it wasn't for the coloration of everything involved. Her womanly assets are a mixed bag, as her breasts are disappointingly underdeveloped but she's been told she has a nice butt, only by the bravest of souls.

Her ordinary clothing consists of a plain gray navi-suit. Another darker gray garment, somewhat like a worker's apron, is worn over this, with a heavy leather strap on each shoulder and long flaps of material covering the front and back. The overall apron has a disturbing pattern to it, featuring red-black splotches like dried blood. Gloves and boots of a matching pattern cover her hands and feet. The skinsuit continues up to her head and stops at dark gray navi ear-guards. A mask, almost like a welder's, is attached to this. The mask is ivory white and features a mostly featureless face with lips closed in an impassive frown and ostensibly holes only allowing for the eyes to see through. With the mask down and the apron on, it can be difficult to discern her gender. She also wears a gray belt around her apron, which hangs on her a bit and features the same emblem as her ear-guards: the blade of a knife piercing a flat plane, presumably flesh.

She often changes into a GMO when the situation allows. It's mostly for the sake of helping her practice her role-acting. Most of her GMOs in the past have made her taller and bulk her up, as a short, girlish killer is not as threatening as a large one.

Personality: Slay's personality also defies expectations. While one may expect her to be a ruthless killer, she is, after all, an actor, not an actual mass murderer. She usually stays professional and is very much a skeptic: she is constantly bothered by the depths of Gordon's poor taste. She is more caring than she lets on and genuinely wants to help him. Even though she is not violent, she often acts like a deranged serial killer without meaning to (licking her weapons, taunting her enemies), simply because she's so used to playing the role.

Slay is rather fearless and rarely experiences stage-fright, social discomfort, or terror in battle. Sometimes her lack of fear borders on apathy, which can be bad for her coworkers. She hasn't worked on a project she's found genuinely inspiring (or frightening) for a long time. Despite her apathy for what she's used to, she has a lot of curiosity towards other topics, and has often considered branching out of horror. For that reason, she looks to others and the world around her for inspiration more than most realize.

Like Gordon, she is something of a starving artist, partially because her attempts to teach Gordon have been so fruitless. As such, she values money highly, as well as the work that goes into getting it. Slay tends to be most critical of other women. She has subconsciously been taught to think that big boobs are a "death flag," due to her conditioning as a horror film actor, and doesn't experience breast envy, but does look down on pretty or well-endowed girls. She's lonelier than she lets on, however, and a large part of that is attributable to the way she looks and acts so creepy most of the time.

Background: Slay has many years of experience working under various clients as an actor, either in publication or often as an instructor. Currently, she finds herself employed as an instructor and personal navi for Gordon Van Hurst. In her estimation, it is one of the most difficult assignments she's ever been assigned, but she is often as persistent as the man himself. She is determined to get at least one decent, readable story out of him and has vowed that when the day comes, she will act the part of the monster in the flick.

As a transitory navi who moves from operator to operator, she did not come to Gordon with any significant stock of chips or powerups. Gordon has made little progress in providing her with these sort of upgrades.

Custom Weapon: Slay carries a small knife with a very short, rusty looking yellow-brown carving blade and a curved, gray handle. She's an expert at handling the knife, but she often brings out bigger weapons when using the majority of her attacks.

Name: Chainsaw Slayer- First Cut

Description: Slay exchanges her knife for a tremendous, double-handed chainsaw (in a pinch, it can be swung instead of wielded using just one hand on a side handle). The color of the exterior metal is brown, faded to near gray, but that's hardly as important as the jagged, rusty teeth adorning the chain that surrounds its lengthy blade. The chainsaw buzzes into motion when the ripcord is pulled, then can be used to cleave through a single enemy. Make no mistake, this is a power tool adapted into a weapon, not the other way around. Not flashy, but terrifying!
Bomber approves of a rare male Operator from Aim (albeit not far behind the last one in creepiness), as well as adherence to the totally legit 4-letter rule. Thankfully the other creepy male Operator is being banished in exchange.

Name: Hideyoshi Serioroshi (real name, Yoshitsune Serisage)

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Appearance: Yoshitsune is a well-mannered child who grew up in the Yoka area; his appearance, with thin, brown eyes, black hair cut in a feminine, straight bowl style, and yellow-brown skin tone make his family's descent apparent. He is short for his age, at only 5'7", and has a tendency to be mistaken for a younger man than he actually is. Because of his work in the theater, which involves a lot of movement and discipline, he maintains a fairly decent, if thin, figure. Unlike the rest of the men in his family, he's never had a tendency to grow thick eyebrows, mustache, or beard. Even throughout puberty, he's maintained a very clean face. His facial features are all remarkably even and not very expressive, but with an average, pouty sort of frown that women tend to like. He tends to stand very straight, except when moving, at which point he hunches and holds his hat to his head, as if he's afraid of being recognized (in some ways, he usually is). He's often mistaken for a woman, even at his current age.

Yoshitsune tends to move around dressed in his stage-gear, which, while designed to help him blend into the background, usually has the opposite effect in real life. The outfit consists of a full-black, cloth suit, almost like a ninja's, that is wrapped at the wrists, waist, and legs with black tape to keep the fabric from flapping too heavily. He usually wears a hood, peaked on either side of his head, with a veil that covers his face. It makes him look fairly suspicious, if not ominous, but really, it's standard gear for kokuro who work in kabuki theater. Still, that's no reason he ought to wear it even outside of the theater... but he does, usually.

Personality: Yoshitsune is a young man with somewhat selfish tendencies; he values his privacy greatly and is currently on something of a "soul-searching" quest that is really more dodging the responsibility of inheriting his father's place as lead actor of the Blood-Red Hanamichi, an all-male kabuki theater troupe. He hates being pressured to do anything and usually responds by trying to flee. Currently, he's hiding from his family at his place of work, known as the Burnt-Gold Hanamichi, another all-male kabuki theater troupe, and is therefore very protective of his real identity. Luckily, kabuki theater really isn't mainstream these days, and usually only those in the profession will recognize him by face. He apparently has great acting talent and can both dance well and project his voice.

Yoshitsune is eager to try out lots of things now, but he tends to live vicariously through his navi rather than taking them on himself. He has a tendency to let her speak when possible. Despite his hesitance to take up the family name, he is a huge kabuki enthusiast and holds many things to the standards of the theater, even when they don't make sense. For instance, he tends to project people's names quite loudly upon greeting and has a bad habit of judging people by appearances in ways that don't make any sense to the average joe.

Another oddity of Yoshitsune's is that, growing up surrounded by men and not particularly enjoying their company, he is both fascinated by and extremely awkward around women (excluding only his navi). He has some very perverse thoughts about that, some ordinary, others quite extraordinary. Being technologically illiterate and having lived a lifestyle devoted to the theater, however, he has no idea how to confirm whether or not any of what he believes to be true really is. Yoshitsune usually treats his navi like an older sister, and indeed, they've sworn an oath of friendship... that said, he still looks lecherously at her from time to time, with the same mixture of curiosity and wonder that he gives to other women.

Background: Yoshitsune grew up in the lights of the Blood-Red Hanamichi, an all-male kabuki theater troupe known for their fantastic renditions of classic plays, yielding much more violent versions that often ended in bloodbaths and, where applicable, additional suicides. That spin was very popular with a certain audience and the troupe became one of the better known amongst Yoka's rival groups. A good portion of the success goes to Yoshitsune's father, who was a prodigious kabuki actor. Most of the troupe expected that Yoshitsune would inherit his position and often levied that expectation against him. At the age of eighteen, with the day he'd officially inherit the position fast approaching, Yoshitsune made the only move he could think of to avoid the pressure: he escaped in the night, taking a few things from the others to keep himself afloat financially, then adopted a new life under the name Hideyoshi. He still often forgets to give out that name properly, but luckily, is now seldom asked his name.

Despite his excellent skills in the theater, Yoshitsune applied for a position as a kuroko worker in another theater, that position being one who arranges the set mid-performances in kabuki theater. The only things he holds from his old life are the Blood-Red Hanamichi mascot, Kabuki.EXE, and a few possessions. He does what little work is required of him and spends the rest of his time studying the world he'd never allowed himself to before. Each day holds new experiences and, once or twice, he's felt he's in over his head, trying to live alone. His relationship with Kabuki has helped him get through the change, perhaps more than he realizes, as Kabuki has pulled several strings within the Burnt-Gold Hanimachi to hide his existence and make sure he's cared for. He tends to believe he's more in control of his situation than he really is.

PET Modifications: Kabuki won't settle for a plain, boring PET. Hers is patterned in a white and red striped pattern and has the amazing ability to unfold horizontally. One or two unfolds are convenient, as they reveal a holder for chips and notepad. Further clicks outward will turn it into a giant, functionally useless unfolded fan of empty cases that Yoshitsune has found no use for so far.

Name: Kabuki

Gender: Female

Subtype: Wind

Appearance: Kabuki is a tall, female navi with a height of just over 6'2". Her flesh is not exactly "skin," but it has the same texture, with a brown, tan color. The major difference is that several of the "lines" of her skin are run through with black serrations, almost like carvings in wood, just slightly too thin to run one's pinky through. The insides glow based on her mood; as she becomes more passionate, they light up a vibrant red color. At the same time, her skin will become paler, resembling the white make-up mask of an actor. Her eyes are somewhat deep-set, fully pink and therefore a little eerie, but almond-shaped and expressive, allowing them to still seem pretty despite their oddness. The serrations that light around her face make it appear that she has red make-up on once they come on. Ear-guards are actually fixated to her head, containing her navi emblem, a red-and-white kabuki mask. Her hair is very long, black, and very straight, falling evenly over each shoulder. It too changes color when she's passionate, going from black to a vibrant red color and suddenly bristling, as if swept by wind. It resembles a kabuki actor's wig, at that point. She has outstanding womanly features, with breasts over-sized even for her height and a long, soft abdomen leading into curvaceous hips.

Her typical attire is very elaborate and eye-catching, consisting first of a long coat, patterned black and white in a pattern like closed, sharpened teeth, running vertically up the length of the front, from the bottom of her tunic to the broad shoulders atop. A gold cord around her waist wraps at her abdomen and holds her navi symbol as well. Gloves and boots with black-and-gold metal over cloth, patterned with matching black and white, cover her hands and feet. A light, salmon pink robe covers her body beneath the upper garments. The robe separates enough at the bottom to allow her to move her legs very freely, often revealing that she wears no leggings except for her socks and the thin, armor-plate boots. The robe is also somewhat low cut, which reveals that her breasts seemingly are unrestricted, besides the tunic and under-robe.

Like Yoshitsune, she stands very straight ordinarily but is capable of being extremely energetic, flexible, and mobile when she is feeling passionate. She loves posing and does it a lot. Her facial expression is serene, elegant, and the picture of an ideal wife's when she is inactive, but as soon as she gets the vaguest hint of excitement, she has a tendency to make exaggerated expressions that pervade her manners, poses, and even speech. She is capable of some truly bizarre expressions that have few uses. Her tongue is unusually long, but few have any reason to know that piece of trivia.

Personality: Kabuki has the fascinating ability to go from peaceful and unassuming to wild and crazy at a moment's notice, usually indicated by her hair and skin markings and perhaps trained by her life in theater. She enjoys putting people in awe and leaving them speechless, so she is not shy about hopping from one personality to the other. The red face-paint of a kabuki actor represents passion and heroism; she strives to uphold these same qualities in her daily life and loves being perceived as a hero, acting for the benefit of others and then soaking up the admiration she deserves for such acts. The world doesn't understand kabuki theater these days, but luckily, she is equally entertained by confusing others with Kabuki stylings. She's got a sisterly streak as well; she likes to care for others and see them succeed as much as she likes achieving her own glory. She especially cares for Yoshitsune, who she sees as a little brother... that said, she has a bit of a thing for younger men and often finds herself thinking improper thoughts about him, much like he does of her.

Kabuki doesn't flaunt her sexuality or intend to use it in most cases; she appears amazingly unaware or uncaring that her robe regularly exposes her considerable cleavage. Ever the romantic, she thinks she'll end up in a love-at-first-sight situation eventually, then things will flow as they will. She's thus never been involved in a romantic relationship, despite a craving for the lifestyle. While she acts the part of a crazy hero, she is unfortunately drawn to the exact same type of man, so they probably wouldn't be the ideal couple.

She admires the new, the bold, the wacky, and so forth. She sometimes appears to lack common sense, perhaps because she strives to be unpredictable in all that she does. She likes to exclaim things and make fancy poses whenever the opportunity presents itself (even sometimes when it really hasn't). She is more sensitive than her bold acting would suggest, but tries to keep on a good game face all the time regardless of circumstance. She would rather blame herself than blame others. Kabuki sometimes speaks too freely or easily about death and suicide, perhaps because of her history with the Blood-Red Hanamichi.

Background: Kabuki has worked in the Blood-Red Hanamichi for years, moving from odd job to odd job during their struggling times before settling into a non-essential mascot role. She became one of the few friends that Yoshitsune could rely on and thus became his sole confidant when it came time for him to leave home and begin his search for his own identity. She has relished the excitement and the sense of purpose, but less so the need for calculations, behind-the-scenes work, and arrangement that is necessary to make sure that Yoshitsune doesn't starve on the streets. His search for himself, whether she realizes it or not, has become something of an adventure for herself as well, as she has very little experience dealing with anything but theater operation.

While not a combat expert, Kabuki is skilled in many of the arts of her theater. "Chunori" allows her to easily maneuver around by using invisible wires attached to her clothing (or even her body), creating the impression that she can really fly. She can summon flames with her fan as well as wind currents. She's still learning new kabuki tricks for battle as she goes.

Custom Weapon: Kabuki's unfolds a red, hand-sized fan and waves it through the air, releasing a ball of fire from its paper surface. The fire trails upon the fan for a moment longer, before she closes it.

Description: A bold pose that signifies a call to action, both warning enemies of an attack and firing up herself and allies alike. One leg is extended forward, stomping powerfully to the ground, before rotating the head stiffly, locking eyes with an opponent, and bending both elbows to 90 degree angles, pointing one palm at the enemy and the other towards the heavens (the net sky?). A flash of red light bursts from the serrations in Kabuki's skin, providing a brief boost of strength.

Name: Marian Simeon

Appearance: Marian is fair skinned with a rosy complexion and sandy blond hair, which she wears usually wears in a braid, hanging to the spot just beneath her shoulder blades, sometimes over one shoulder. Her eyes are deep brown and long-lashed. She wears a modest amount of makeup most of the time. She usually dresses in a mommish way, with cute but frumpy clothes and an affinity towards mom jeans. Her taste in clothing is a lot stranger than her appearance suggests; she still owns a lot of merch from obscure fandoms that she holds on to for sentimental value. She used to have a conventional knock-out body but recently has put on a bit of weight, which she's self-conscious about, but not enough so to pick up healthy exercise habits. Still, her curviness is mostly in the right places, if a bit much in the hips.

Personality: As the one who married in, Marian often feels like she has to make up for lost time. She is also concerned about the rest of her family dynamic: she's the lower earner and she's ashamed of her former sordid past as a super-nerd and how it might affect her stepson. Her love for her family shines through in most aspects of her life, as she's more devoted to being a good mom now than anything... although she has a hard time giving up her past as an otaku queen. Most of all, she wants to hide her obsession with vampires, which makes her current navi situation a very hard spot for her. In terms of her family, she is often the doer and the one who takes charge, even though it doesn't come naturally to her. She and Tajana have a lovey-dovey relationship that can be a bit grating at times. She and her stepson, Alexandru, seem almost closer than his blood mother and he do. Has a tendency to over-react to things and let her imagination run wild.

Background: For a long time, since her childhood, Marian was a girl to act out. In defiance of her parent's dreams, she became thoroughly entangled in all kinds of unusual hobbies: before she was the queen of cosplay, she was a secretive master doujinshi artist. Before she was a secretive master doujinshi artist, she was an underground blogger. But before she was a blogger, even, she was a vampire enthusiast. As a child, Marian made up a vast world of vampires, including her navi, Daybreak, based on the Daybreaker novel series, created by her future lover, Tajana Vukanovic. The two of them met later in life at a convention, they fell in love, and the rest is history. These days, Marian's gone back to the blogging work, the only that doesn't necessarily correlate to her old nerd hobbies. It's not especially lucrative for her, but luckily, her wife still makes a lot of money.

Marian doesn't have any complicated goals now but to change her life and try to become a responsible mom. This is partially because she's come to resent her past hobbies (in an admittedly snooty sort of way), but just as much because it is clear that Tajana needed the help. Her other personal mission is to try to avoid dying of embarrassment by way of her ridiculous navi, who is obsessed with imaginary vampires. Daybreak is a necessary malefactor in her life: while preaching the importance of being thrifty to her family, she is powerless to avoid using her old personal navigator from her school days, who was recently resurrected from a long period of hibernation within a forgotten PET. She feels guilty for losing the PET, but in truth, she is sick of and embarrassed by vampires, vampire hunters, and anything tangentially related to vampires. She and her navi are not the best of friends. Unfortunately, breaking her navi's delusions has proved impossible, as Daybreak is thoroughly entranced, as she lived in a PET with nothing but elaborate vampire fiction, vampire world building, and experimental not-entirely-work-safe comics. More on that later.

Name: Tajana Vukanovic

Age: 40

Gender: Female

Appearance: Many have joked (and one seriously monologued) that Tajana is a vampire herself, as she has mostly resisted the effects of aging. At the age of forty, she is sometimes seen as the younger in her relationship. The novelist has long, jet-black hair, furthering the vampire image; it's naturally wavy and picturesque, despite her doing little to tend it. Her eyes are sharp, but also remarkably black, and her features are unnaturally even. Her body shape is the opposite of her wife's: her flowing, flowery garments can only do so much to hide her unfortunate thinness. Thankfully, having someone to look after her is improving her shape a little. She has a tendency to brood and posture in a way that looks like one of the characters out of her novel rather than a real person. As alluded to earlier, she dresses in a way that looks, well, like a vampire, favoring very dark colors, long coats, and frilly blouses. Despite what many might think, she even dresses that way around the house.

Personality: Tajana can seem unapproachable, because she seems so surreal; her way of carrying herself and the seriousness with which she treats her subject matter both make her stand out amongst others. The truth is she's just a very private person. She becomes bashful in the presence of others, even if she doesn't show it outwardly, and has a very hard time talking to people, let alone being intimate. Recently, she's very concerned that, perhaps despite or perhaps because of her contented domestic life, she's losing some of the dark edge that gave spark to her greatest works. As a result, she's bound and determined to do something to inspire herself, and has become a bit more adventurous in trying new things. She likes to let Marian take the lead on everything, when possible. Her views are pretty open-minded, but it's easy for others to mistake that lack of a judging mentality as apathy.

Background: On the cutting edge of vampire fiction characters stands the Daybreaker, a vampire hunter created by Tajana Vukanovic. Most critics agree that the earliest novels were the greatest; although there is some argument regarding the first through third, it is generally stated that the fourth and fifth have been of deteriorating quality. Ironically, as Tajana's life brightens, so do her works dull; it could be said that her troubled early writing years fed her work, or that work was an outlet for her, but whatever the case, she seems to have lost her mind for vampires. That said, she wouldn't trade the new days for the old ones. She and her husband separated years back with little love lost; she now has sole custody of Alexandru, but she wouldn't trade that either. The two of them were both very troubled after that time, but Marian has become glue that helps keep them together.

Her current goal is to try to find the proper balance of living happily while maintaining the right state of mind to write a dark, sinister story. She hopes that Marian, Daybreak, and herself can put their heads together to come up with new ideas. She's especially hopeful that the tormented battles of, Daybreak, a woman who lives the waking nightmare of being persistently haunted by vampires, will help to inspire her. She's currently working on the sixth Daybreaker book.

Appearance: Daybreak is a fantastic looking character (at least in the sense of looking like she belongs in fantasy) from head to toe. Her hair is fabulously tall, styled into two horn-like curves at either side of her head and banded by red, glimmering metallic coils to hold their shape. All of her hair, from her head to her eyebrows and even her eyelashes, are shockingly platinum blonde. Her skin is tan, standing out against the frame of her hair, but actually has a naturally fair complexion... an exposure to sunlight has created tan-lines that are normally hidden. She is very buxom and has no shame showing that off, although she has various excuses to wave off her promiscuity. Her one consistently visible eye has a remarkable pupil, yellow with flecks of red about the iris, and unnaturally bright. Red eye-lid makeup matches her ruby-colored lips, making her look exhaustingly exotic, as much of her ensemble does.

Her other eye, however, is even brighter; behind her eyepatch is a black void in the shape of a socket, through which a far off sun occasionally peeks, moving as though it were her eyeball. The eyepatch is red and metallic, banded by a gold strap that encircles her head, mostly hidden by her hair; a yellow metal plate in the shape of a sun rests atop the patch. Her right arm is decorated similarly, with a long, red metal glove, through which a moving sun sometimes shines. Behind that brace, too, is a black hole in space in the shape of an upper arm.

The rest of Daybreak's outfit is similarly gaudy: she wears a white, one-piece bodysuit in the shape of a swimsuit, with matching long-legged stockings and elbow-length glove (not plural). A series of gold ribbons encircle her body almost like a harness, forming various X shapes. The ribbons really play up the shape of her body rather than hiding anything. Her ankles and one of her wrists are circled by metallic, red bracelets with sun emblems; another one, a single point of modesty, circles her bust, fastened by a buckle containing her emblem, a sun shining three rays diagonally through a cloud. She does wear ear-guards, but they are also made of red crystal and are removable accessories as well.

Also worth mentioning is the floating, red, robotic-looking eye that accompanies Daybreak wherever she goes. The creature is supposedly a familiar, summoned by the sacrifice of her eye; along with the arm, they allow Daybreak to use her weaponry, which chiefly consist of scorching sun-rays.

Personality: Daybreak has a difficult personality to deal with. While her personality should be primarily valiant or heroic, as befitting a vampire hunter, her chief trait is her paranoia. She suspects all strangers of being vampires, all friends of being vampires in a state of "form-fancy," the ability of vampires to shapeshift, and all otherwise as being contaminated by "the taint," the subtle influence of vampire's evil. She sees herself as the only one immune to the taint and one of the few capable of fighting vampires.

Beyond that, she really craves attention more than anything. She dislikes being ignored and will latch desperately onto anyone who shows an interest in her story. She has a seemingly inexhaustible number of past adventures and adversaries to talk about and will use any opportunity. At her core, she does want to do good as well, but she has another unfortunate trait: a love of being an underdog and getting into pinches, bordering on masochism. She loves having things stacked against her, making it basically impossible to break her illusion of a world dominated by vampires.

Daybreak is discretely curious about Marion's family, especially since she suspects that Tatjana is a vampire and Alexandru is a dhampir. Alexandru is not allowed to interact with her often because of two factors: Marian's embarrassment about her old vampire-crazy life and her overexposure to fetishist comics. Living with only vampire fiction and doujinshi, Daybreak took in equal parts of both, and expects all sorts of things to devolve into a sexual encounter.

Background: Daybreak was created during the glory days of Marian's vampire kick, trained to be a vampire hunter. Unfortunately, those days ended shortly after, when Marian lost the PET and was forced to get a generic navi replacement. Alone with nothing to read but mounds of vampire literature, vampire world building, and erotica doujinshi, Daybreak cultivated a truly unfortunate new world view: one populated only by vampires, their victims, and sequel encounters waiting to happen.

Since being rediscovered, she amazingly doesn't seem to hold a grudge against Marian, though the operator feels pretty guilty about all of it, which has partially contributed to the operator's agreement to use Daybreak again. She's very excited to break out and into the world again, seeing it as utterly important, as well as thrilling: after all, since she left, the taint has only spread further, the roots of vampire's control rooted deeper, and the world further corrupted.

Custom Weapon: Daybreak's custom weapon is her eyeball familiar, which is capable of emitting rays of various intensity. The sun's rays are the greatest weapon against vampires.
