MeleeCross/AnyisCross

Hurr durr redundant subtypes.

MeleeCross
Level: 1
Element: Fire
Subtype: Melee

Description: The level of understanding that could only be conveyed through fists has produced this manifestation of power! That, and the eternal battle between Anyis and MeleeMan to one-up each other inevitably would produce a strong Cross. The expected changes start from her feet and work up. Anyis's boots retain their normal knee-high design, but the white and gold trim both turn to the same dark gray to match the color of MeleeMan's own boots. Anyis's normally dark blue bodysuit stays dark, but becomes red rather than blue. Her white robe is replaced by a version of MeleeMan's black jacket tailored to fit her own needs, such that it extends only partially down her thighs and sleeves are cut short just like with her original robe. The black belt with her emblem is still there to tie the jacket down.

From this point on, Anyis stopped borrowing directly from MeleeMan. His helmet lacks a certain feminine appeal, so for the woman taking on his design, Anyis manifested a translucent red visor that reaches across her eyes and over her ears. For some strange reason she doesn't understand, the visor actually took her ability to see ghosts and junk data, so can actually lose it if she takes the visor off and alternately grant someone else the ability if she gives them the visor. With her hair unrestrained by a helmet, Anyis ties it back into a short ponytail while in MeleeCross.

What's sure most apparent about the changes of MeleeCross Anyis, though, is two things about her arms. One, the fact that her forearms and hands are so thoroughly and completely bandaged that Anyis has pretty much no use of them at all. Two, her usual gauntlets are free-floating at her sides. If you put on her spirit-visor, you'd actually see that her gauntlets have been possessed by a pair of ghosts, but to the average eye they're completely unchained to Anyis. In her normal form, Anyis has trouble specializing when she has to juggle her ghost, ice, and physical techniques all at the same time. MeleeCross has polarized her skills straight into the physical element, turning Anyis towards the self-founded discipline of the Spirit Fist. With her own arms bound and her gauntlets possessed, MeleeCross Anyis can fight with a rare brand of ranged melee combat. She has complete control over her gauntlets as if they were her normal hands, although the optimal range doesn't go more than twice past Anyis's normal arm reach. She can launch straight-line jabs over a good distance, but any complex movements beyond that range is beyond her.

Signature Attack:

Spirit Fist: Red Hot Phantom (Gravity, Large Area Lava Terrain Change, 2TCD; 80 points)
Anyis ignites the ghost in her right gauntlet, turning it into raw propulsion as the gauntlet blasts forward in a wake of ground-melting heat. Once it reaches the target, the gauntlet grabs the enemy and drags them back to Anyis through the newly-created lava.
*thumbs up*

Btw, my side of this won't be ready till later, but I'm good with this anyway.
Ok.

AnyisCross

Changes: MeleeMan's gauntlets rapidly cool themselves, expelling smoke rapidly. The smoke gradually trails into something like steam, then adopts an ethereal glowing quality. The gauntlets begin to fuel themselves with ectoplasm, allowing MeleeMan the fortune of epic ghost-powered fists. Having ghost powered fists comes with advantages and disadvantages. The major disadvantage to MeleeMan is that the mischevious ghosts do whatever they please, although luckily, lining up with Anyis' own personality, that pleasure is often punching.

His outfit's undersuit adopts a blue color, similar to Anyis' own. His coat turns into a heavy white robe with an unconnected hood that goes back into a short tail at the top, making him look a little like a ghost. The upper fold of the hood still usually covers his eyes, although he still seems to see just fine. His gauntlets and boots adopt a more sleek design and shoot out ectoplasm steam rather than smoke. All of his flames adopt a bizarre blue glow. Yellow gems are embedded in the gauntlets and boots, although he's not especially fond of them, thinking they look pretty girly. His robe has long sleeves and a long hem, but he invariably finds himself pushing up the sleeves of the robe, as they interfere a lot with the function of his gauntlets. In general, the cross makes him look like a giant white ghost, despite the fact that it's supposed to imitate a monk's robes.

MeleeMan retains all of his old personality in this cross, which he is quite thankful for. The only difference is that his ghosts can manipulate his tongue playfully if he starts to say something that would demean Anyis, which is likely to cause him no end of displeasure and annoyance.

70 FXP, level 2 Cross, 160 Cross sig points, so on and so forth:

Signature Attacks:

Spirit Fist: Red Hot Phantom (Large Area Lava Terrain Change, 1TCD; 40 points)
Anyis ignites the ghost in her right gauntlet, turning it into raw propulsion as the gauntlet blasts forward in a wake of ground-melting heat. Since this technique lacks any direct damage, Anyis will intentionally miss enemies and instead opt to just burn them alive. The gauntlet automatically returns after stopping, with the ghost manning it showing no damage as if spontaneously combusting didn't bother it.

Spirit Fist: Tremor Pound (Blast 4 Stun, 3TCD; 120 points)
Anyis's possessed left gauntlet shoots high into the air, then dive-bombs straight into the ground with fist clenched. The raw force of the impact sends tremors through the nearby area, knocking all who feel it off their feet. Somehow, there is almost no apparent recoil to this suicidal dive, showing that the ghost in the left gauntlet is just as resilient as its brother in the right.

Red Hot Phantom lost Gravity, got a minor fluff change to address that, and the excess was dumped into Tremor Pound, which exudes melee-ness in the purest form.
Bomber has my consent on his, of course, and here's my update. Everything cosmetic stays the same, so it's just the effects that are changing.

Kind of a one-sided thing due to Anyis's significant subplot-induced changes. MeleeCross Anyis is being completely remodeled as a result. I have new process upgrades, so permission to edit Cross sigs is there regardless.

MeleeCross
Level: 2
Element: Fire
Subtype: Melee

==Description==
For how significant her changes were, it's to be expected that Anyis's existing MeleeCross had to adapt to meet her new specifications. Some of the most basic aspects did survive the transition, such as Anyis's boots turning the same dark gray color as MeleeMan's, her midnight blue bodysuit turning dark red, and her white robe being exchanged for a version of his black jacket tailored to the same ends as the robe. With her old belt gone, Anyis's sash has to keep the jacket tied down, though the color of the sash becomes red to match the shift in her bodysuit. She does retains the red string that ties her (now longer) hair into a ponytail, although now she also sports a red headband as well to lift her long bangs out of her eyes. No matter how much her Cross changes, Anyis absolutely refuses to wear that ugly bucket MeleeMan calls a helmet. With that in mind, the similarity to the old Cross end there and Cryos begins applying himself to the new version here.

While in MeleeCross, Anyis is fully and permanently merged with Cryos... sort of. Normally a full merge would produce a full set of armor for Anyis, but here all she gets is a pair of heavy metal gauntlets around her hands and a breast protector securing her chest, all of which is an ashen gray color similar to the boots. This would be about everything about MeleeCross, sans the one fact that Anyis's arms are on fire. Hot red flames spew out from the ends of her gauntlets and go all the way up to her shoulders, flickering and flaring randomly up the entire length. It's actually quite similar to the flames that animate Cryos, except that the cold fire is replaced with the hot stuff. Anyis can control the fire as if it was all just an extension of her arms, and in a particular case, actually as such. With her gauntlets fully bound to the flames, Anyis can actually launch the metal armor from her hands and freely manipulate them through the tethering fire. Whereas her old Cross model had her practicing the Spirit Fist variety of fighting, Anyis now finds herself disciplined under the Flame Fist, in case the free-wheeling fire puppetry didn't make that clear from the start.

==Signature Attacks (160/160 points)==

Flame Fist: Maximum Burn (Large Area Lava Terrain Change, 1TCD; 40 points)
Anyis launches one of her gauntlets into the ground in front of her target and cranks the heat of the flame tether up to maximum. The surrounding terrain is liquefied almost immediately into a pool of hot lava, at which point Anyis withdraws her gauntlet back to fit around her actual hand. Somehow, her gauntlet doesn't look like melted putty after all that.

Flame Fist: Immolation (30 Strengthen, Passive; 30/120 points)
What makes the Flame Fist more powerful? More flames! The fire on Anyis's arms can flare up on occasion for a bit of a power boost.
I am good with more flames.
Approved.
With all the fanfare of a passing breeze, Anyis and MeleeMan reached Cross level 3 something like a year ago. So... yeah. 80 new points, turned into 1 new sig:

Flame Fist: Rocket Grasp (Gravity, Disarm, 2TCD; 80 points)
With a single fast thrust, Anyis launches a gauntlet forward off her hand that grabs hold of a target. True to MeleeCross form, the captured target is then quickly dragged back into close range along the fire tether connecting Anyis to her gauntlet. If there's a range limit to this technique Anyis hasn't found it yet, and as an added bonus she can sometimes strip the target of its weaponry with the gauntlet's strong grip.
I am good with even more flames.
Approved, like the wind!
