Quick question.
Do you still start out with one blank GMO? Or, did you still start out with one back when Rogue Network was just started?

Do Crosses somehow take on a different appearance when in a .GMO. Like say Red was in Badass_Hottie.GMO and went PianissimoCross, is that technically a .GMO Override and the navi goes back to their normal appearance in Cross mode, or can we use the .GMO's to alter the Cross Appearance as well?
last edited by
I think it was determined earlier that a cross is a separate override that contains its own graphic component, which must be based on the original graphic components or else people could have crosses that looked like a .GMO of the person they crossed with.
Personally, though, if they were registered with the cross/.GMO I don't see why simply stating minor changes that came from it in the cross mode would be a problem. But it's not really my place to say, considering I don't really know how it works.

I'm pretty sure the Cross disengages the .GMO to make the graphic changes. Or at least, that's my view.

If I recall, this question was asked on the old site, and I beleive the answer was indeed that the GMO did disengage since the Cross was formated to only work with the origional apearance files, or some other techno-bable like that.
Now then, quick question. I can't find Risky Honey anywere. Can sombody PLEASE tell me what it does.

I still don't have an official answer. :'D
I'll just assume it overrides...
WAIT! You guys didn't even address what happens when I use a Cross, THEN a .GMO!
Sneaky wankers. D:<

According to our info (or mine at least), you COULD NOT use a .GMO while in a cross. There is no "what if I did."
If you really need an official answer to this, seek out official help or simply wait for it. >.>; It seems kind of a trivial matter to me.

I've been curious since I see people post in the BBS while their in battle, but are you penalized for posting in the BBS while you're in battle and you lose your turn, or it from being in the Real World and doing else, like buying stuff form the shops?

Anything that requires you to disconnect from your Navi, such as leaving the area to go and buy items or whatnot, will cause a penalty. Think of it like this:
NetOpA Jacks in at the park in ACDC. NaviA enters ACDC Net and all of his Op depended data, chips and such, get funneled through the jack in point at the ACDC Park. Now, NaviA can travel whereever he likes without penalty as the PET is still within the area of the jack in port. However, if the NetOP leaves the immediate area of the port, the intangible supply line that provides the Navi with chips becomes stretched thin and interference develops which causes the Navi to not be able to access his BattleChip inventory.
Understand? Meh, perhaps my explanation makes things more complicated...
Anyway, typing and stuff doesn't cause you mechanical penalties, running around to different places does.

I've always assumed that BBS stuff was in like, a separate window or something, Multitask-style.
But Zan's right.

I've got a quick question. . .
What happens if you are in a battle when the event begins? The only possibilities I can think of are:
-Forced EJO
-Kicked from event
-Event waits (this wouldn't be the most conveniant)
-Warning is given when event gets really close, people advised to close up, Mods wrap up battles.
But I didn't know which, if any of those, would happen so I decided to ask.
Oh, and a second thing while I'm here.
Do your Sig Attacks default to your element damage or null damage? If it is your element, is null considered off element? And if its null, is your element free to add?
Sorry that the second question is more of a Sig attack question, but its quick and seems simple enough, so I decided to ask both here.
Thank you

I think there will be signs when the event is close at hand. Regardless, the event will NOT interfere with normal battling as we have a number of people not even participating in it.
Your own element is free to add to your sigs.

I won't reveal anything about that first one without permission. I don't want to get in trouble again.
Null type damage is never off-element. And yes, your own element is free to add, I mean you ARE a FIRE/AQUA/ELEC/WOOD NAVI so WHY SHOULD IT COST YOU TO MAKE A FIRE/AQUA/ELEC/WOOD ELEMENT ATTACK? IT'S YOUR OWN FRICKIN' ELEMENT FOR GOD SAKES!
<.< Sorry bout that. I felt critically high at ranting at the moment.

NOTE: Feel free to ignore this. After some investigation, it's been discovered that this was largely a moot point. To condense the bigass post and avoid my unresearched opinion, can a Sword Navi grab two passive 5 damage sword attacks (20 points each, 40 total) and grab a free dodge via swordplay per turn as that? My original fears were... well, see below. But seeing as there's only one swordplay per turn, I think it's mostly a moot point.
OLD LOL: So, what's the current verdict on sword Navis, passive sword attacks, and freeplay? I was thinking about a character concept and my initial thoughts were, "ZOMG awesome," but moments later were, "Eww, broken." I'm sure this has been brought up before though, no way this could stand. Right now, I'm assuming that the current approach is 'passive sword attacks don't count towards freeplay'. Otherwise, we could just have a sword Navi with 8 passive sword attacks that deal 1 damage each and he gets four free dodges. And that's just silly.
Am I correct in my assumptions? If so, I dunno, that seems an unsatisfactory answer to me. Don't get me wrong, it's good, it kills the problem, but I still think there should be an instance where passive sword attacks do count towards the freeplay. It should just be very restrictive. Let's say that to achieve a 'sword action' through freeplay, the passive action/s have to be equal to or greater than 40, same damage as a rage claw. The same goes for increments above 40, if someone manages to get their passive damage that high. So, 80 passive sword damage = 2 sword actions = 1 passive free dodge. The amount of points you'd have to dump into that to get it to work would be ridiculous, so I think that'd be a limiting factor at least.
While I'm on the subject, I'm assuming that the current 'no free sword dodge' thing applies for free actions as well, right? Or do we still have those? We've gone through so many changes, it's a little hard to keep track of things. Regardless, thanks for the help. Don't really need an answer, can't really start a new Navi if I'm planning on keeping Crush, which I am, I'm just curious.
EDIT: Double checked, you can't do a free action sword attack, so that negates that question. However, a level one character could spend 40 points to get two passive 5 damage sword attacks, giving that navi a free dodge every turn, unless I'm correct in my assumption that this sort of thing has already been discussed and dissalowed. And in that case, I still like the idea of restrictive swordplay, as in, 40 damage in passive to count as one sword action. Considering that'll cost 160 points, I think it's fair enough, especially since that's only half way towards a dodge.
And now, before I make a really silly mistake, let me double check to see if you can swordplay multiple times a turn at all... If not... well... Dang. Wasted typing, heh.

Well, the general idea with passives is that they don't stack with any "boosting" effect, such as empower. Sounds silly, I know, but you could kind of view the sworddance dodge as an empower that gives dodge
Basically, passives never work togather with anything that mounts an attack with an effect (be it pure dmg, or in this case, dodge). Cause if they did... well...
passive empower = 80
passive 1 dmg = 4
1 dmg becomes 1+8... for 140 points you have 15*9=135 passive dmg every round, and it only gets worse from that.
That said, Pally is the head honcho in these matters >.>

For those of you still expressing confusion about how the event is taking place and what is happening to any battle threads that you may have been apart of before the start of the event: Your current threads are essentially on hold for the time being. Think of the event as taking place "tomorrow" while your current thread is "today". We are merely skipping ahead to avoid the usual "Wait while everyone finishes what they are doing" crap that happens at the beginning of most events. Once the event is over, you may resume your previous battle threads; however, any rewards from the event will not be available until after you jack out. The act of jacking out basically turns "today" into "tomorrow". Yes, we are aware of certain plotholes and discrepancies that may appear from such a thing, but we really don't care. Just live with it.
