Things we want to keep if we move to ZB

Yup, this thread lists all the neat features you guys like that you'd want to carry over to a Zetaboards forum. Are we moving to a new forum? No. We will remain on this forum. The possibility does exist that we will convert this forum from IF to ZB. In the event that we do, I'd like to have the transition be smooth, and the forum usable in the way you guys want.

Here's a forum for you to compare IF and ZB features with.

What things would I want?

[li] I want to keep the Chat.
[li] I want to have spoiler tags on ZB be customizable like they are here (or close to it).
[li] I want the post link button to direct people to a post, but still show the thread around it.

• I want the ability to host RNGs on the forum for moderator use.
  

Those are the things I want.

Now, what do you guys want? Post and tell me now, because I am working with the ZNR support team to get these things for you. You gotta tell me so I can tell them.

[li] Java in Signatures

Also customizable spoiler tags as you mentioned. Or anything that works like a spoiler. Chat too, naturally.

To be specific:

MANDATORY:

-Default text wrap for spoiler tags. ZB defaults to window wrap, so spoiler tags go from one end of the screen to the other regardless of how much text is actually in the spoiler title.

SECONDARY:

-Setting custom color for spoiler tags.
-By the same token, background inheritance for those of us too lazy to pick a color. *waves*
-Setting an image background for spoiler tags, as some people around here have done.

The only thing I want.

An easy way to link to a post that does NOT only show the single post, as has been seen in ZB before. Singular post linking kept too, if possible.

ZB already has this functionality; it directs the page towards your post once you confirm posting or editing one. Just sayin' that a nice system like IF has would be cool.

So, good news. The chat works on ZB. We also got someone to code an IF postlinker together for us. Worse comes to worst, ZB already has spoiler tags and we'll just use the default ones, but someone may yat code that for us too.

The rest of the things we wanted are already in place. So all we need now is to clean up the drakim tab code and remove it from signatures.

Moving day is gettin close. :'D

Out of curiosity, just what are all the features of ParaChat that is apparently quite needed that other chat systems just don't implement?

I'm curious cause it seemed like the whole Java scare was a big deal.
