The "Everything you ever wanted to know" Thread

Break thing: If you add Break (20) to a 5-hit signature, the break applies to the first hit unless you specify otherwise or add more points for the rest of the hits.

The glossary, I'll try to the best of my ability... >.>

Anchored - Object is grounded, can't be moved.
Beam - Straight-line attack, hits 1 target unless specified, and strong against Shadow and Invisibility.
Breaking - Yep, it's break.
Burn - A type of damage-over-time.
Bubble Trap - Trap for 1 turn in a bubble.
Cone Attack - Exactly what it says: its range is a cone. Starting small from your position, the range gets bigger as it spreads out.
Chain X - Attack can change direction X times to another target.
Grapple - You hold on to stuff, I guess.
Group Attack - Attacks a group bunched together (max 3)
Wide Attack - Attacks a group in a horizontal line perpendicular to your position (max 3)
Herosword Range - Three panels directly in front of you.
Lifesword Range - Six panels out, in this arrangement.
[_][X][X]
[Y][X][X]
[_][X][X]

Y - You
X - Lifesword Range

Northwind - Removes all auras and barriers.
Plague - The number of glitches you are suffering currently is also applied to all successfully-hit targets. So if you have 3 glitches, they get 3 glitches.
Superpiercing - Bomber sez if you have this thing, you kill stuff. So I imagine it's an all-defense piercer.
(Note: Only thing I know which has this is ZeusHammer, and I know that hits everything no matter what. So All-Defense Piercer sounds about right.)
Wind - Pushes enemies back, reduces their accuracy, in case of the chip [Wind]. In any other case, it's any attack that can be seen as Wind-attributed, like WindRacket.

That's all I can help you with. If any other mods would like to clarify on my explanations/bitch/moan/whatever, post here too. : D
EDIT - Thank you Fera.

What are the rules for: Sandstorm?

EDIT2 - When you add Break and the like to a signature, but you also make it multi-hit: do you have to add break to each hit, or does it count for each hit?

In a multi-hit attack, an effect is only active on the first hit, the rest are just damage.
How much is a Shadow1 battlechip worth?

Quote (Azureink)

How much is a Shadow1 battlechip worth?

Varies on the effectiveness of said chip for the potential buyer, and many other dynamic factors. Some chips are incredibly useful for some Navis, and next to worthless to others. If you want a more numerical answer, I would look at some of the other trading threads, and use what you see to formulate what you think would be an appropriate price. But then again, that's variable as well.
Thank you Von Dare. And thank you Grim Reaper for the rather vague help. I guess I have to ask around until I can piece something together.
If one creates a 1-Hit Shield using a signature (not passive) and it is not destroyed, could that navi carry the shield into another battle? Or does the signature end at the end of the battle?

No. All effects (except for certain detrimental effects like recovery time nerfs, lock durations and the Speed subtype Afterburner action loss) end with the end of the battle.

Ok. *goes to edit his last post in Electown*
Hypothetical scenario:

Nachahmen is guts-type. He gets a guts-type SP. He uses the SP as a Weapon Junction. Nachahmen has two passive buster shot sigs. Does this mean I could use my own Gatling Attack ability to fire a free buster shot, then use the ability again by using the SP's Gatling Attack through my navi? Could I do this if it was another type of Junction??

Also, do SP's passives(from their types) have any impact on Junctions? Does the +10% Dodge bonus from Speed or Airstep from Wind apply to, say, a Mobility Junction? Or any Junction, really. Like, I'd like to see if this applies to all types, or none, or whatever... Just seems like it has a lot of potentiality is all.
I would also wish to know that.
Are SPs always considered un-junctioned at the beginning of every battle? Could we say they are always junctioned?

Yes, they are considered un-junctioned before each battle. You can RP as if they remain junctioned, but you must re-junction them in your battle summary at the beginning of each battle.

That sounds quite tedious.
Merging your Navi's programming with that of the SP is taxing for both involved. Keeping that merger beyond what is necessary can have adverse effects on the Navi and SP.
I see.

Anyways, is there a way to answer Zanzo's question?

QUestion time: Does Magnum only hit up to three enemies? Or can it hit an enemy three times? Or can it do both?

QUestion time: Does Magnum only hit up to three enemies? Or can it hit an enemy three times? Or can it do both?

It's considered a Multi-Target chip, so no stacking hits on a single target.
Situation: A navi who is not the Recover subtype SoulCrosses with a Recover subtype and decides to take on that subtype, overwriting whatever subtype they were previously. Now they are Recover subtype.

Question: Do all their healing signatures immediately take on the full value of the points spent on them?

Example: The navi had spent 40 sig points to make a basic 30 hp heal. Does that same signature, when SoulCrossed with Recovery as their new subtype, change into a 40 hp heal while SoulCrossed?

Question 2: If yes to the previous question, when a Recovery subtype SoulCrosses and changes their subtype from Recovery to something else, like Ground, do they loose sig-to-healing value?

Example: The navi had spent 40 sig points to make a 40 hp heal. Does that same signature, when SoulCrossed with something other than Recovery, as their new subtype, change into a 30 hp heal while SoulCrossed?
No, your already registered sigs would not be affected by your cross. Your Cross-Sigs can be registered with the cross's new element/subtype in mind, but your normal sigs would remain the same.

However, this does bring up an interesting point, and we'll look into it.
