an author dies in the opening, and then you see a girl at a ballette school, but she's really a duck, and changes into one when she quacks. the is a guy she wants to dance with, and he a prince without a heart, who's totally ok with dateing anteaters. the girl/duck has to transform into a superspecialawesome ballarina, who has to dance to get back pieces of the princes heart from various people.
however, the dead author is writing all of this, so it's perfectly ok...
also, the dance instuctor is a cat who will force any bad dancers into marrying him, and the duck/girl is at the top of his hit list...
this is what we call a good anime...
