A new firey jorney begins!

Sparks summoned another Bandcoon and set it to rob the Beetank. Unfortunately, as the Bandcoon rushed by the Beetank, its tail failed to swipe any goodies before having to run away. Poor Bandcoon. The Oldstove shot a flamethrower worth of fire across the hole and it struck Sparks (-15). It also cracked the panel beneath his feet due to the intense heat.

In retaliation, Sparks shot a cannon at the flamethrower-spewing Oldstove. The cannon shell smashed into the Oldstove, caving in its metal face, and causing it to explode in a ball of fire. The Beetank lobbed a bomb at Sparks that exploded directly on the stationary navi (-15). The Miner (with explosive mine in hand) used its shovel to dig into the ground, disappearing from view for a moment. When it re-emerged from the ground, it was without its explosive mine.

Finally, Sparks created two decoys to protect and confuse the enemy. The other three viruses made their attacks then. The CannonDumb shot its own cannon at the three Sparks, and one clone vanished as it was struck. The Shrubby, exposed, runs behind the CannonDumb virus to take cover. The Spikey virus, abandoning the 'stand across a giant hole and launch attacks across it', rushes around the hole to breathe fire on Sparks. It shoots a fireball at one of the Sparks, and manages to tag the real one (-15). The fireball is powerful enough to pass through the real Sparks at an angle and spread through to hit the clone behind it, deleting it as well.

Joe again became a little irritated from having his navi take multiple attacks almost back to back. "Sparks get it together man." Lot's of enemies, called for a weapon that could take them out. He slotted in the sword battle chip. Not his favorite chip, but it could probably be held in high regard as the most used chip. Sparks unsheathed the short sword and focused his attention on the near by fire breathing wolf.

"Your fate was sealed when you chose to attack me." The samurai took his trusty blade, and held it with both hands above his head. With this stance he attacked the Spikey virus with a quick vertical slash that came from above. Even if that attack hit, it would not be enough to finish the job. The navigator immediately followed his first attack with an even faster diagonal slash, this time coming from the low position.

This time, Sparks was weary of his enemies attacks. They would not catch him off guard again. His swordsmanship was so smooth, that after the second slash he seemed to flow to the right with the intent of dodging any on coming attacks. Now was a matter of closing the distance between he and his opponents. In a massive burst of speed, the samurai dashed towards the right side of the massive hole that covered the middle of the battlefield. He would follow its edge to get closer to the attackers.

Unsheathing his sword from its resting place, Sparks struck twice at the Spikey virus. Unfortunately, his second strike whiffed past its intended target, and the Spikey limped away with barely a sliver of vitality to its name. It spat a fireball towards him, but he was already off to take out its comrades, and the fireball harmlessly sailed over his head.

On the other side, the Cannondumb turret switched from its normal parameters to emit a small red laser at Sparks' body, perhaps as a targeting reticule. The decoys probably wouldn't work as well now... Its comrades had no such strategic alternatives, and continued bombarding him with attacks. The Beetank continued to fire explosive shells at him, though they were woefully inaccurate, and the Miner disappeared into its hole with yet another explosive mine disc, and reappeared on the surface without it.

The last virus, a tiny little shrub peeked out from behind its cover of the Cannondumb turret, and threw a pair of wooden logs at him. As large as these logs were, they were a bit too large for him to evade, and one brained him quite hard. (-10x2!!Wood)

Having been targeted by the CannonDumb's laser, Sparks decided that it was the next thing that needed to go. The samurai targeted the stationary virus with his blade. He ran towards it, holding the sword at his side. Once directly in front of the blaster machine he used his momentum to run the blade horizontally through it.

Now for the sneaky little shrub virus that hid behind the CannonDumb. "You're a troublesome little fellow arn't you. Your time has come however." Sparks smirked with confidence. He attacked once again with the basic blade. If this slash connected, the Shrubby would be nothing but twigs.

Two slashes made it easy for Sparks to flow into a smooth evasive movement. Be it bomb, fireball, stump, or cannon blast the navigator would attempt to step out its projected path. The sword was beginning to crack, with one or two more slashes it was sure to break. So Sparks decided to use one of his last attacks on the annoying little Beetank that was in the vicinity. The sword lashed out in an attempt to slice the virus in half.

As Sparks rushes down the CannonDumb with his sword, the Spikey shoots a fireball at him from behind. The fireball sails past the navi, leaving Sparks unharmed. However, either the fireball or the laser pointer in his eye distracted him, because the first swipe of his sword missed. The second sword attack attempted to hit the Shrubby, but it hid behind the CannonDumb, and the CannonDumb got bisected instead. Which is I guess just as well, as that was one of the two targets that Sparks wanted to delete. Also thankfully no mines explode as the navi moves over potentially mined terrain.

The Shrubby, truly a coward at heart, cried out in terror and scampered over to the Beetank. It forgoes its attack to hide behind the other virus. This didn't help it for long before Sparks chased after it, dodging with the flow of his Swordplay. Unfortunately, this activated the Miner's trap card. A large explosion assailed Sparks (-50; -5% Mines), who unfortunately failed to dodge the explosion. However, he did manage to dodge the Beetank's bomb attacks as he closed. And with a swipe of his mighty sword, decapitated the Beetank with a nat 20 critical hit. Leaving the poor, cowardly Shrubby exposed!

The Miner calmly submerged itself for a moment, replacing the mines expended, before returning to the surface (+5% Mines).

The explosion of the mine caused the samurai to take HEAVY damage. Having been a long time since he was pushed this close to his limit Sparks had to take a knee. Taking a quick second to gather himself, he planned his next action. When suddenly, the Navi's body was enveloped in a radiant light.

"Sparks... what's going on?" Joseph's question, came without an answer. Sparks didn't know himself. His armor began to change. First colors, from Green and Yellow into different shades of black and grey. Now, his Japanese styled armor began to alter itself into a more European style of armor, much like the stuff his buddy Drago would wear. After all the changes where finished, Sparks no longer stood on the battlefield as a samurai... but more like a knight.

The light proceeded to slowly calm itself until it died out, revaling his new form. Joseph's jaw dropped in amazement. Nothing but excitement filled the air, in both the real world and network. "I don't know what's going on.... but I like it!"

Something seemed to grab ahold of Sparks body, in a sense of showing him what his new found power could do. A barrier seemingly surrounded the navigator out of no where. At the same time, he felt super refreshed. As if a recovery chip had been used. They both knew that wasn't the case, as Joe didn't own any recovery chips.

Sparks quickly launched himself towards the Shrubby virus in an attempt to finish it off with the last slash the sword would give him. Hit or miss the blade shattered into nothingness. However if the attack landed, it would be time to say goodbye to their little plant friend.

Something was still holding onto his body. Sparks felt faster then usual, while Joseph sent him another battlechip. This time it was the Shotgun chip. Which he quickly fired towards the most irritating Miner virus. Focusing so much on attacking with his new abilities, Sparks ended up leaving himself pretty open to attack, but it was one of those act now, deal with the consequences later.

Sparks powered up into his awesome DragoCross form as the Shrubby began to make a run for it. Drago!Sparks then put on a barrier and healed some damage (+30). He rushed the Shrubby down with his sword as it ran. Thankfully, no mines went off under Drago!Sparks' feet as he skewered the creature, causing the virus and the sword to fragment into junk data. The Miner then ducked into the ground and put some more mines.

Sparks shot the Miner with his Shotgun as it re-emerged, damaging the virus quite heavily. The Spikey then spat another fireball across the gap, missing Sparks. The battle looked like it was now going Sparks' way.

SpikeySpikey (Spikey)

Spikey viruses are a little faster than the average virus, allowing them to cover more ground than normal with movements and dodges. They may attack while moving, but as normal, they cannot attack while dodging without expending a second action to do so. Spikey viruses are also able to use something called 'pack tactics' when 3 or more of them are present. Simply put, the Spikey viruses attack and dodge as a wolf pack. In addition, they are treated as having a reduced power Haste and Accuracy Enhancement effect which grants them a +5% bonus to evasion and accuracy while this effect is active. The effect is passive, and only expires when their numbers drop below 3.

15% Mines!
After being so fast just a second ago, it felt as if he was a little slower than usual. Maybe it was an after effect of using the massive burst of speed. The navi felt like he had regained full control of his body, but awesomely enough everything that had just happened felt completely natural. He knew he could speed off again, or summon the healing barrier again.

The tide of war had shifted into DragoSparks's favor. It was time to capitalize on it. Joseph seen this, and with a sudden quickeness of his own, slotted in two more battlechips. Back to back. One was a chip that had already seen this battle once. While the second chip had gathered dust from the amount of time it sat in the folder unused. The chips were Cannon, and ZapRing1.

The crossed navi continued onward with his completely offensive attack. What was there to worry about? He had enough health and the barrier would protect him. Without moving he fired the Cannon off towards the most irritating Miner, before it could sink into the ground again. Without taking a step, Sparks would then twist his body and fire off a small ring of electricity. The ring flew super fast towards the injured wolf that was behind him.

If both attacks were to connect with their projected targets, we would be seeing the end of this battle. It was a long tough one, but hopefully it would be over. No matter how tough it was though, it gave ultimate reward in showing off the power that Sparks held inside of him. The navigator spoke aloud, not really to anybody in particular though, "Thanks for lending me your strength Drago my friend."

Speaking of Drago, Joseph was amazed with the things that happened in this battle. So while his navi attempted to finish of the enemies, he was sending a quick email to his buddy Destin. The email contained his plans for tomorrow, along with a message about the strange power that occurred in this battle.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary
1. Cannon Damage: 60 + 10(Same type cross bonus) + Knockback, Accuracy: A at Miner
2. ZapRing1 Damage: 40 + Stun 1, Accuracy: A at Spikey
With a Cannon blast, enhanced by Cross power (not that it needed it), the Miner was deleted. The almost-dead Spikey spat a fireball at Drago!Sparks, which was absorbed by the barrier, leaving the navi unharmed. Finally, Drago!Sparks tossed a ZapRing at the Spikey, deleting it as well. The mines all detonated beneath the ground, leaving the field clear to move through.

The hard-fought battle was over. And the rewards were spilled all over the place.

CannonDumbCannonDumb (CannonDumb)

CannonDumb viruses attack any targets in sight every action they are able to. They can and will attack objects, but only objects they can damage. They will not waste cannon fire on IronBody, Shadow, or Invisible targets. The exception is Canodumb DS, which will fire at anything with its DarkCannon's beam blasts. All CannonDumb viruses may opt to spend one action prior to attacking marking their opponent with target lock. They gain the 10% accuracy benefit of Take Aim against this opponent for any and all follow-on attacks until they lose sight of the target, or switch targets.

If there is nothing on the field to use as cover against an enemy, and the only other viruses on the field are Shrubbies or viruses that cannot provide cover against attacks, they will stop attacking and attempt to flee starting next turn. Later versions of the Shrubby virus carry rockcube chip data, and will use that to make new cover when none is available.

Joseph downloaded his rewards and let out a loud yawn. "It's time for bed Sparks. That's enough today. Jack out!"

The navi bowed before the cord was unplugged from the computer in the Yoka Inn. The navis data was sucked back into the PET on the command of "Jack out!"

This is Joseph's current real world location.
