Public Neo-Shogun Camp.

Thankfully Skywriter and NS leadership were all-to-easily located, and unsurprisingly Yasu was already chastising the team; namely Skywriter. They wordlessly approached as the spat between the two continued, with Mach taking point while his two SPs kept close formation back and to his sides, forming a tight wedge formation.

They overheard Skywriter's retort to Yasu's complaint, citing the general's standard revealing uniform. [Point Skywriter. 1-0.] Mach thought, starting a mental score. The general quickly parried, making a... technically correct point regarding the fact it was her official uniform. one all...] Mach begrudgingly updated the score.

The score-keeping effectively stopped once Yasu recognized and addressed the group, updating them on what Skywriter had already revealed. A quick glance in Skywriter's direction likely provided an eyeful, even while the Navi attempted to cover herself with her hands. Focusing back on Yasu, he and the rest of his team listened attentively to her evaluation of the mission. They remained silent as she spoke, as she didn't say anything warranting any objections from the group, until she addressed the disrepair of Mach's and Aera's uniforms. "Ah, right. Was focused more on the mission," Mach admitted before shifting his attention to his NetOp. "Could we get a refresh?"

Mazer had already made a quick assessment to the .GMO damages while they were in transit; they were just beyond the point of a simple refresh. They'd take at least a minute or so to reconstitute themselves. ["Should take only a moment, got you covered in the meantime."] Mazer responded with a purely coincidental pun and set the group to their default graphic models. Mach and Aera's cloth tunics, cloves, and boots all disappeared, replaced with blue armor over orange undersuits. Mach's avian wings disintegrated, but an equally impressive pair of hoop-shaped wing thrusters materialized in their place, and quickly found their positions floating behind Mach's back with mechanical precision. Vector's body plates rippled and shifted, seemingly "melting" into his default shape with ease.

With him and his SPs in their un-edited forms, Mach responded to Yasu's question regarding their reward. "I too wish we would've rescued Scavenger earlier, any chips or upgrades that would increase my speed could help prevent this from happening again. I'm not entirely familiar with the NS's armory, so I'll leave it up to you or your quartermaster."
Yasu seemed please that the navis had gotten back into full outfits again, even if they weren't wearing their uniforms. The request from MachMan made her raise an eyebrow, though. "MachMan... It would certainly be difficult to provide you with anything that would increase your mobility, given how we already rely on you for your speed as much as your aerial abilities. I don't think there's anyone faster in the Shogun's army, even between Vee and myself. Can there really be a tool that would enhance your speed?" she questioned. "I'll ask some of the other officers..." Yasu took a short break to send some messages.

Her eye scanned between MachMan and Aera as they waited. Finally, she spoke up again. "Hm... How about the chip, DashAttack3, along with 150 bugfrags? Dee, loath as I am to take her advice, says these might best fit your request. She mentions that you could always use the bugfrags to increase the mobility of your SPs. There will also be 15 faction points in this for you, due to your exemplary work." The general almost looked like something else was eating at her as she offered the reward. "If that's acceptable, would you mind if I questioned you as to your next course of action? Our obligation to Roc and her sister is done; there's no more need to pursue that line of investigation. We can always dig up more work if you're interested, but it seems to me that you've done little but work since you aided in the defense of our base. Between the aerial attack, the mafia murder party, the secret NetPolice rendezvous, and the perils of your most recent mission, I would not blame you if you wish to take a break..." It was hard to tell exactly what had put her on edge, but it almost seemed that she was still communicating with someone through messages privately as she spoke.
From Yasu's initial reaction to his request, Mach started to regret putting the reward contents in the hands of the NS's supply. However, the offered reward caused those regrets to quickly vanish. On top of some always useful bugfrags, it included the 3rd-tier of one of his favorite chips. [Mental note: Thank Dee.] Aera and Vector hadn't had a good supply in bugfrags in a while, so the mention of them undoubtedly got their attention. "Many thanks, General. The Shogunate is most generous, as always," Mach replied, accepting the rewards. Though partially distracted at the anticipation of putting the new chip to use, he noticed Yasu was more... irritated than usual.

The trio listened to her inquiry regarding what they'd like to next, noting their continuous dedication to the NS's objectives thus far. Both Aera and Vector looked to Mach, both wordlessly expressing their eagerness to continue, and their trust in their Navi's decision. Mach looked from side to side to get the wordless message from his SPs, then looked back to the lead general. "We stand ready; but as you said, Peace is under a watchful eye and AlchemyMan is not so easily removed. I believe my team deserves a bit of R&R, but I can't help but see there's something bothering you. We're still here and mission-ready, something we can do to help?" He spoke plainly, showing equal dedication to his team's earned respite as well as the general's unseen problem. His SPs looked to the general as well, buying in to whatever they might have signed up for. "We're glad to help, if you allow us," Aera chimed in, followed by Vector's much more formal declaration. "As my Master said, we stand ready."

Yasu nodded along with MachMan's words of gratitude, either concurring that the shogun was highly magnanimous or otherwise signalling her approval of his saying so. When the three started picking up on her mood, which was a bit stormier than usual, her one eye opened up a bit, then fell back to its usual glare. "No, there is nothing important on my mind," she reassured MachMan and his group, shaking her head quickly. "Well, as we are all brothers and sisters in arms, I'll be frank with you: I was discussing my surprise that we foresee continually supplying you the rewards you deserve for your work here. It's no secret that you, and possibly DragonierMan both, have outpaced many of us in terms of battle strength. However, our lord, the Shogun, assures me that it is no trouble at all to provide you payment. Perhaps a sign that our continued work has made the army more profitable? Or,at least, minimized our losses, which always end in expenses of some sort. It's also possible Dee has simply been reaching deeper into her pockets. Whatever the case..."

Here, she paused, bringing up a semi-transparent window mid-air, then spinning it around so that it faced MachMan and his group. On the window was an image of a vast sea, with a boat that first appeared small, but would be recognizable as a large cruise ship once one looked closer. "As a matter of fact, the Shogun shares the opinion that you ought to receive some R&R... He's suggested you join Escort and her friend, who are currently taking time-off on a pleasure trip, aboard the Wanderlust, in Beach Net. Your ticket is prepaid and SPs need no ticket, so if you're interested, consider it another mission... I'm not sure if we can offer you 'payment' just for taking a cruise, but good soldiers that you are, perhaps you'll find some opportunity to serve your Shogun and net yourself a reward while you're there?" the general offered, seeming a bit out of her element. "There is also one extra ticket that came free. I'm not certain who to offer the extra too, but I will leave it to you, if you know someone you'd like to take with you. Or, if you have no need of it, we'll simply sell it back off."

She clammed up for a moment, then tensed her brow, as if thinking hard again. Amusingly, it became apparent that she was just trying to think of how to sell him on the idea of a relaxation cruise. "If you're interested, they have... breakfast and lunch buffets, with dinners instead reserved in advance and done in white-collar format... The rooms are luxury class... Room service is also available, including meals in room, should you not wish to partake of the buffet. I understand there is an on-board pool and... some type of 'game' that they'll be playing, to last the night..." she continued, looking more uncomfortable with each extravagant amenity she described. "The date for these tickets is set for tomorrow; you could go as early or as late as you like. These tickets only cover one day's stay, although Escort's covered two instead. She's probably wrapping up her second day now."
Mach stood with arms crossed as Yasu explained the situation, it seems the help is apparently draining the "royal treasury" as it were. That said, he had no idea of the impact beyond Yasu's allusions. The Shogun was allegedly content in providing the rewards, so it provided a contrast in viewpoints, a dissenting opinion amongst the ranks perhaps?

That said, Yasu further revealed their newest 'mission,' aboard the "Wanderlust" for some R&R, along with Escort and an unnamed friend. Both Mach's and Aera's eyebrows showed piqued interest in the idea; Vector was sans eyebrows, and mostly unfamiliar to the prospect of a cruise. [I was just thinking taking a rest either in the PET or at the NetCafe, but this sounds much more interesting,] Mach thought to himself as Yasu continued. By happenstance an additional ticket was available for the one-night reservation, the owner of said ticket being up to Mach and his crew.

The features further described by Yasu further convinced the group they should invite someone who they believed could use a respite, and possibly a bit of pampering. "We're definitely interested, General. As for the 2nd ticket, the rest of the squadron is likely busy; Roc's with her sister, and Skywriter with the holiday event, not sure what pest is up to. It could be used as an "olive branch" as it were, but I don't have anyone in mind who we have good contacts with." Mach replied, then pondered aloud. Aera chimed in, offering her own suggestion. "I'd imagine there are others deserving of a day off? Any of your staff come to mind, General? Maybe yourself, perhaps? Could be a chance to 'let your hair down,' even for a brief period." Vector had already seen Yasu in a "hair down" situation not too long ago... but he elected to keep that to himself.

Yasu's face hadn't changed, but her shoulders seemed to relax as MachMan accepted her invitation to the cruise. Either she was relieved to find a recipient for the tickets or relieved that she'd found a way to lock in the whole "MachMan gets some time off" thing. "Good. You're right: Roc and Skywriter are both busy. As for Pest, well... she's already been getting some R&R. She's about due for another mission, if anything," Yasu admitted. "An olive branch...? An interesting idea, but we're already faring so well with other factions these days, I'm daily surprised by our new alliances. The only ones left to extend such a peace offering to are the truly detestable beings that compose the Terror Girls or the Right of Operation Templar, and I don't want you on a cruise with any of them, to be frank." Aera further suggested that she might be able to come up with someone herself. The First General crossed her arms thoughtfully. "Me?" she asked, sounding respectfully surprised by the suggestion, as was modest, but also seeming to concede that if anyone was tense among the Shogun's army, it was her. "Truth be told, I'd appreciate the time off, but I feel hesitant to leave the Shogun without you, DragonierMan, Escort, or myself to protect him."

"I can handle that!" Dee offered, peeking out from a nearby tent. It wasn't clear what she'd been doing there, but eavesdropping was obviously part of that. "With my illusions, enemies will believe you and MachMan to be present and vigilant, while you're gallivanting on a cruise together!"

"Ridiculous. I have no plans to gallivant. MachMan wouldn't be going on this cruise if it wasn't important for his well-being, and neither would I," Yasu chided her subordinate. "That said, it is a fine suggestion. You and Arch can tend to the base's defenses while we're gone."

"You've always got a funny way of saying thank you, oh mighty First General," Dee laughed, demonstrating her prowess by releasing the illusion in front of them and appearing behind MachMan instead. She attempted to surprise him by placing one finger on the back of his neck. "Are you sure you want to go with her? You probably won't unwind at all if she's around... I, on the other hand, am a master of the healing arts... and other just as therepeutic arts~" she cooed, making a saucy offer.

"It's already been decided," Yasu growled. "If you do not focus on the base's defenses, then neither MachMan nor I will be able to improve our states of mind through this venture. Therefore... focus on the blasted defenses." Dee finally raised her hands and conceded, before fading from view... literally. "That sorceress. It is difficult to trust anything that she says or does, but as she's been reliable of late, I will endeavor to set aside my distaste for her methods," Yasu murmured, as though Dee wasn't still within their relative vicinity, listening. "Very well. We will meet at the coordinates tomorrow... From what I understand, we'll be beamed straight into our rooms. I plan to get there very early... you come whenever you're comfortable," MachMan's statuesque cruise buddy offered. Accept both the coordinates and the ticket, and remember... you'll be turned away if you lose your ticket." She handed over a data packet, the outside of which was decorated in shiny gold, with a red, needle like pattern intersecting each of the angles. "Thank you again for your work," she finished, bowing, then waiting for him to take his leave. If she was having any emotions: excitement, trepidation, or etc., her one glaring eye and her green eyepatch were hiding them very well.

((Please specify when you leave this thread at what time MachMan will arrive to the ship the next day; I will set up the thread accordingly))
Yasu didn't have any suggestions of her own regarding the second guest, but she didn't outright refuse the offer to take the opportunity herself. She also revealed an apparently surprising frequency of alliances being forged with the organization, giving further credence to the Shogun's goals expressed during his(?) brief one-on-one meeting with Mach. However, it seemed Yasu ultimately wouldn't be able to attend...

Until a familiar face made an appearance. The trio reflexively looked towards the source of the voice, with Aera leaning forward a bit to look around Mach and/or Yasu to get a better view. The "ever-charitable" Dee offered to use her skills to mask Mach and Yasu's absence. Surprisingly Yasu accepted her idea, but insisted there would be no "gallivanting," involved, trying to make the getaway sound more like a task than a vacation. [Speak for yourself...] Aera quipped, mindful to keep from saying it aloud, to avoid a likely harsh reaction from the general.

Dee demonstrated her ability of illusion trickery, either by teleporting or by fooling the group into focusing on a decoy, and ended up right behind Mach. The misdirect was admittedly... unexpected. Mach didn't startle or flinch, but the fact she caught him entirely by surprise did send a flash of concern through his mind, mixed with a new respect for Dee's abilities. Vector and Aera's reactions were less muted, and they nearly whipped around to the sound of Dee's voice almost directly behind them. Thankfully she seemed to be intent only on teasing the Navi, to which he turned his head and looked over his shoulder towards Dee. Yasu indirectly did Mach a favor and replied first, shutting down her argument.

She conceded and faded away quickly, leaving the group alone. "Sounds good, looking forward to it, General," Mach replied, accepting the ticket. A quick glance revealed the data packet definitely looked the part, it was just as extravagant as the cruise claimed to be. Both the ticket and coordinates fragmented and disappeared as they were downloaded to the PET, allowing Mach to return the bow with both hands free. Both of his SPs followed suit, though didn't mimic his movements perfectly. "Our pleasure, see you soon."

With that, the trio quickly became wreathed in cyan light, which quickly beamed up and out of the network, logging them out.

((Log out))

((From Wanderlust Cruise Ship))

The trio beamed down to the encampment more or less from where they initially departed. Their appearance was still in "cruise-mode," with Aera in her sun dress, Vector in a casual-wear configuration, and Mach in his slightly scorched swim trunks and not much else. To make themselves more presentable and appropriately dressed, they activated their respective NS .GMOs. In a few seconds they all wore uniformly similar garb, and stood out slightly less than before.

Mach checked over his SPs briefly, then gestured towards the larger tents in the upper echelon leadership area of the encampment. "I'd imagine Yasu will be over in this direction. Hopefully she hasn't released Jack yet, but I'm interested to compare notes with her, she's fast even by my standards." Aera agreed with her Navi's evaluation of Jack's speed affinity, but her being a Blesser was unsettling. "I don't know about this... Clipper didn't mention her Blesser 'illness' being contagious, but I can see this getting out of hand..." she admitted with a concerned look on her face. Mach picked up on this right away, and turned to her before gently putting his hands on her shoulders. She looked up to him, her sapphire eyes locking on his own. "I agree. Until we're sure she'll be contained, the trunk will remain shut if I have any say about it," he declared, attempting to reassure the SP.

"Thanks, Mach," she sighed with a more relaxed expression. She realized she'd brought a more somber mood to the situation, which now seemed out of place. "I have enough competition to deal with as it is," she commented with a more playful tone. Though more seriously, Aera noted Mach's friend/comrade pool are almost all women. She wasn't exactly surprised, and as a result would admit the other ladies have good taste in men, but the sheer number of "competitors" was something on her mind, as absurd as that might sound.

Mach chuckled at Aera's remark as they started to make their way to the Generals' quarters. "She might have the speed, but you leave her in the dust, looks and personality-wise," he said with a wink. Aera hummed with a grin, chalking up a mental victory. However, in retrospect she became more self-aware of this feeling... jealousy. It seemed unsavory to have nearly hostile feelings towards her own friends, but equally nice to be reassured she comes out on the top in Mach's eye.
As it turned out, MachMan, Aera, and Vector wouldn't have to look far for the First General. Her form was unmistakable at a distance, as was her bright green attire, for by her own costuming rules, no two Shogun subordinates wore the same uniform color. She frowned with disapproval as she saw MachMan giving his ally a gentle shoulder-rub, which was clearly too intimate an action for the notoriously PDA-hating general. "The hree of you, come here," she called across the camp, motioning for all of them to join her further in. She turned her head to look behind a nearby tent, then narrowed her eyes and barked again. "Quickly."

MachMan wasn't the type to do most things slowly anyways, so about by the time she'd finished giving the order, he had managed to join up with her. She fell to one knee quickly in a bow, as the presence of the Shogun himself was revealed. The large, armored figure had apparently decided to make a rare appearance in the public area of the camp. He stood nearby the trunk, inspecting it silently with his arms crossed behind his back. As MachMan and company approached, he turned to face them sideways and nodded. "Good work, all of you. MachMan, Aera, Vector, I trust that both of you understand how much it means to have this cargo in our hands... and how important it is that we stay quiet about what's inside. Secrecy has been a weakness of ours... we've got to do better on that front," he began. "Having this in our possession is a boon for us and a great source of clout, but also may make us a target. I'll be thankful for your vigilance in the days to come, as we work to understand more about what we've obtained."

"Yes, my Lord. I'm certain that all of us will uphold your directions," Yasu nodded, keeping her kneeling position. "Do we have plans to begin the research?"

"Yes. We have a number of friends that I trust to help us in that regard. I'm more worried about the risk of enemy attacks... the longer we hold on to this, the more we have to keep our guard up. I don't think the NP will try anything, given that they've already surrendered it to us to avoid a fight, but the NetMafia could certainly be interested. The few friends we have there do not equal up to support from the organization itself. Worse, I'm sure that the faction in question will want their supporter back... if she is that," the Shogun murmured. "There is much we must learn. It sounds as though she was in hiding. If the NP knew who she was, then she must have been hiding from her own people. We should all keep our eyes open."

Yasu closed her good eye and nodded; ironically, the last direction would be one she'd b e unable to follow. "Of course, my Lord. With your permission, I would like to reward MachMan for his efforts in retrieving this package for us," she added, gesturing towards the others with one beefy arm.

"Please," the shogun answered in a gruff but genial voice, the tone of which, when coupled by the huge armor and gleaming yellow eyes inside a demon's mask, made it hard to reconcile the knowledge of the navi's true gender.

"As usual, it is mete that you name your own reward. Whatever you choose is unlikely to outweigh the value of what we brought in today," she murmured, tilting her head over towards the trunk again. The Shogun, for his part, was watching the trunk with an unreadable expression. His attention seemed to be off of the other two entirely now, which seemed rude, but it also seemed as though something about the box or its contents were weighing heavily upon his mind.
The trio moved towards Yasu, then rapidly picked up the pace as she ordered them inside the tent adjacent to her position. Her tone was cold, but fairly calm. They would've charged in with weapons drawn if there was panic in the general's voice, but she sounded more hard-assed than distressed. Regardless, all three abandoned any conversations and took flight. Two were carried by their feathered wings, while the fractal third cut through the air with little indication of propulsion beyond a subdued blue glow from his calves and back, along with short-lived wisps of milky white mist.

It took only a moment to close the distance between them and the General, and the paused abruptly in the air before gently touching down. Mach saw Yasu kneel reverently, and a quick glance gave context to her action. He quickly did the same, kneeling beside and slightly behind Yasu while facing the Shogun. Aera and Vector promptly followed suit behind their Navi.

The Shogun addressed them, causing their eyes to lock to the heavily armored leader. "Thank you, Honorable Shogun. This will remain with us only, until further guidance is given, sir," Mach responded politely, maintaining his kneeling posture. After that, the three remained quiet as the Shogun explained his plans, and concerns, regarding their new "acquisition." Mach made mental note of said concerns, so he may identify any potential intel that could help fill in some of the blanks.

As previously mentioned, Yasu insisted on offering the group a reward for their efforts. The Shogun approved, but was obviously distracted by the trunk, and the mental conflict it brought. Still kneeling, Mach looked to Yasu and nodded in understanding. "Thank you, General. Aera and Vector were the ones who identified and secured the objective, so I request they be the primary recipients. Bugfrags, upgrades, or anything else would be graciously appreciated." Aera and Vector suppressed the urge to look towards eachother, but they both felt a brief surge of pride. Mach wasn't stingy with his appreciation for his SPs, but being lauded felt good regardless.

If there was a lull in the conversation, Mach would bring up one advisory. "Honorable Shogun, it would be remiss of me to not advise caution regarding the speed capabilities we've witnessed the program within. If released, I fear even I would have difficulty keeping up."
The Shogun and Yasu seemed to nod in unison, as though agreeing that it was all quite reasonable. "Of course," the organization's leader responded. "Yasu, please fetch MachMan and his company their payment." Yasu complied by bowing with one fist to the opposite palm, then darted off towards the back area. When she was gone, the leader stared after her, then turned with his arms crossed behind his back; the Shogun seemed quite absorbed with thoughts on the chest and perhaps wanted to distract himself from it. "So, were you and the First General able to relax at all? And Subordinate Escort, of course. You're some of my hardest workers; I certainly hope it wasn't all business for you." The concern sounded unfitting and humorous, coming from behind the snarling demon-faced mask.

The armored figure stood motionless as they talked, then nodded contemplatively. "I will be gone from the camp for a time. You might recall that I lined up a meeting with one of the Teskqp leaders, Boss Oni. I've put that off for long enough... it's about time I entertained the offer," he suggested, the yellow eyes narrowing inside the sockets of the mask. "But it's arranged that I must go alone. In the mean time, there is more work to be done, if you're available to be assigned. If you are not, we can make do. I understand your vacation was not as restful as you may have hoped. There is time to catch up on your own affairs, if need be," the somehow subdued booming voice finished.

Yasu touched back down quickly; surprisingly, she didn't seem to take much care before jumping into the middle of the semi-private conversation, perhaps assuming that the Shogun had nothing to hide from her regardless. "I've returned. Hopefully, this will be sufficient," Yasu rejoined the group, offering a data packet over to MachMan, though the contents were for the SPs, mostly.

"The Shogun also mentioned that he has a task for me elsewhere; I'm to supervise the lookout we're setting up to counter Right of Operation Templar, who appear to be stepping up their attacks on ordinary citizenry. Protecting them is an important duty for we, who seek to be the force that unifies the net. I know that might sound like something you want to be a part of, but for now, this is only training footsoldiers... a dull task, but one that I am well suited for. Thank you for your invitation, MachMan. It was... productive," she finished, crossing her arms with a respectful nod. "I'll leave you to your business with the Shogun," she finished, beaming out in a scattering of green leaves.

The Shogun, for his part, seemed to have forgotten the conversation. He was staring at the trunk silently again, contemplating without saying a word.
Mach raised his head, with a slight hue of surprise on his face from the Shogun's question. He caged his bearings and nodded slightly. "Yes sir, to varying degrees. I believe General Yasu would've had more time to relax if I hadn't... been blown up. But then we may not have been on a high enough alert to notice the 'objective' being smuggled away," Mach admitted, and paused briefly before bowing his head. "Regardless, I'll be more careful next time, sir." Aera and Vector remained silent, though only then did they finally know just how close Mach was to the explosion on the ship.

Mach went silent as the Shogun explained his next task: an apparently overdue meeting with a leader of one of the NM families. He didn't know that much about Boss Oni or the Teskqp family, but the idea of the Shogun meeting the NM alone made him feel uneasy. "I understand, sir. We remain ready for whatever the Shogunate requires," the Navi declared in response to the Shogun's vague mention of additional tasks to be accomplished. He didn't want to appear nosy or rude by delving into the Shogun's plans, but he couldn't help but seek further info. "... Pardon my questioning, Honorable Shogun, but this meeting... is it to occur on neutral ground, or do you have a team on standby to respond in case the meeting turns sour?"

As he waited for an answer, Yasu returned with their reward; a nice chunk of bugfrags. He received the datapacket from the general, which quickly fragmented and disappeared as it was downloaded to the PET. "Thanks again, General," he replied with a slight bow of his head. Vector did the same, while Aera gave Yasu a quick, appreciative smile. The trio listened to Yasu detail her own task, and revealed the NS's role against a familiar faction, ROT. He'd yet to encounter them, but they've been mentioned in conversation and on news feeds before.

After a brief thanks, Yasu was off again. Mach regretted not having enough time to possibly see the General with her "hair down," if that was at all possible, but there were some hints of a personality beyond her default "all business" hard-ass attitude. Maybe next time. Now alone with the Shogun, Mach felt it appropriate to take his leave, especially if the Shogun had a task for him. Even if there were no tasks assigned, or the task wasn't urgent, he'd politely excuse himself and ask one last question. "Thank you for your time and generosity, Shogun. Shall the trunk remain here, or will it be secured elsewhere?"
"I did not mean to belittle your preparedness. That said, this is precisely the reason our presence on the net is so critical... to be a deterrent to such schemes. A force of 'good' in a truer sense than what the law can accomplish... to produce tangible results without the chains of bureaucracy. That is the reason why we allow our subordinates to raise those they believe worthy of promotion, as well you know," the shogun responded, but crossed his arms as MachMan produced questions of his own. "My host would have us believe it's neutral territory, but considering the bathhouse is owned by the man himself, who is in the employ of the Mafia, I can hardly agree. Still, I hear the man is susceptible to flattery, which means his loyalty costs us next to nothing. Having more friends within the Mafia can only help us... strange bedfellows, of course, but if nothing else, it helps us sleep a little easier knowing that Teksqp men won't turn their daggers upon us."

The shogun turned the toothy snarl of his mask back towards MachMan. "I can tell you're thinking I ought to have protection, but I'm not so weak as to be defenseless. I'll be ready to escape if needs be." By that time, Yasu was approaching again. The conversation seemed to have cut off quite abruptly, perhaps with the sense that there might be another yet more cagey about the Shogun's plan to go alone to the Mafia.

Yasu gave a courteous bow to MachMan once again, then turned to the Shogun. "Will you be off, my lord?" she questioned.

The shogun's yellow eyes focused on MachMan for a while later, as if mulling over the question of the trunk. "I'll have another of our subordinates secure the trunk... Guillotine can do it. Yes. She can secure it once we leave this area," he suggested. "For now, if you are willing to undertake another task, then I will readily assign you another. Your airborne squadron is currently watching for an attack from the ROT... One of their officers has been loudly attacking our new public camp in Netfrica. Your presence on that line would empower those in your squad, I'm sure. Go there and support them until the threat of siege is removed. You're free to engage the enemy... the ROT cannot be reasoned with and we need not try the impossible."

The Shogun held out a large, metallic hand towards MachMan, offering coordinates. The coordinates would point him towards Netfrica, if he was so inclined to accept it.

"I'm off to handle the ROT. In a fashion," Yasu finished, bowing, then vanishing in green light and leaves. That left the Shogun and MachMan to finish up, but the Shogun was silent as stone now; given the leader's reputation as a frequent meditator, their quiet contemplation might not be so surprising.

((If you want to accept the mission, you can feel free to leave in the next post and I'll set up the mission topic afterward))
The trio listened silently to the Shogun as he briefly lectured before assuring he wouldn't require assistance or backup for his meeting with Boss Oni, even though this proposed "neutral ground" didn't seem very neutral when one looked into it. Mach didn't question the Shogun's decision, but so far he hadn't seen the NS's leader do anything beyond pacing, and didn't have any sort of combat data about him. He wondered if the NS followed his leadership more due to his charisma and lofty goals, instead of using superior strength to garner loyalty.

Regardless, the Shogun was set in his plan, and Mach didn't oppose him. That said, it wouldn't stop him from trying to figure out the location of this bath house, in case a panicked recall was sent out. Aera appeared to feel the same way, as she'd already started skimming through BBSes internally. However, their attention was re-centered on the Shogun as he detailed their newest assignment: supporting the squadron as they defend a NS encampment besieged by ROT. The trio became noticeably excited at the prospect. Aera was looking forward to meeting up with her squadron-mates, Vector felt the objective played directly to his "purpose," while Mach was thrilled to be given the green light to engage the enemy. It seemed like forever since he'd gotten the chance to get into a good dogfight.

Mach received the coordinates from the shogun, politely using both hands to obtain it while still in a kneeling position, and downloaded them to the PET. "Looking forward to it, sir." As Yasu again departed, and the Shogun fell silent, Mach deemed it appropriate to take his leave. He turned his head so he could glance back to Aera, and gave a slight nod. In near unison they stood and backed away, before turning to the side and moving away from the tent.

DragonierMan, Aya, and Suzume appeared on the outskirts in a flash of light, having been gone for a long while for Drago to 'cool off'. Now that they were back, they would take a tour of the camp and find out the status of everyone in the organization. From the most recent additions to the oldest members.

[Requesting [s]Battle 1[/s] a meeting with every member of the Neo-Shogunate. Singly or in small groups. Starting with the Subordinates upward.]
Thankfully for DragonierMan, someone was close at hand who was well suited for the task of updating him on everyone's position. The cloaked, fully gray figure of Survey appeared, slinking out from behind the gate into the main camp. "DragonierMan... It's been strange, not having you around camp for a little while. It's a little dull without you sometimes, truth be told," Survey chuckled, one eye lens extending out towards DragonierMan inquisitively. The purple glass at the tip gleamed in the light as the bustle of the camp came from all around. "What's this, then? Not here for another assignment? You're actually looking to introduce yourself to the others you haven't met yet?" she asked the group made their purposes clear. "Well, you've got bad timing. Arch, Escort, and Sake are currently assigned to shore up our defenses. We've been dealing with attacks from the ROT recently. I've been told to keep a stern eye on all parts of the base. Yasu's off training the men... MachMan and his aerial squadron are assisting our new Netfrica base... The Shogun is off on business... And the other generals, well... they're also on business. Syki, Kindle, and Capo, they're all off seeing old acquaintances. Goodness knows the two talk show girls needed the time off."

That probably sounded like a brush-off, but Survey had a bit more to offer. "Well, there is one subordinate you haven't met yet... The subordinate, spider lady, masseuse, Sylk... I believe she's off on a routine bust right now. I'd say she's not to busy to see you, if you're interested and don't mind braving the danger of NAXA Rogue Net," Survey asked. "Then again, I happen to know you've spent some time there yourself. I'm sure it's nothing to a dragon," she finished, rubbing her chin thoughtfully. "In the interest of your assured friendship, here are... vaguely her coordinates. A little bit of walking... again, no problem for a dragon." She gave the group a data packet containing the address, then gave him a quick, closed-fisted bow that seemed a little unfitting for anyone not dressed as a warrior, like most of the Neo-Shogun girls tended to be.
DragonierMan greeted Survey and got the survey (ha!) of the Neo-Shogunate's current status. He took the coordinates for Sylk, the 'spider lady' he heard Dee mention the last time he was in camp. "Sounds just like my kind of party," he said as he spread his wings. "Tell everyone that we are back and will resume missions eventually," Suzume told Survey before the three teleported out.

DragonierMan returned to the Neo-Shogun Camp's outskirts in a beam of light. He had successfully met Sylk, the strong and wily spider woman of the Neo-Shogunate, and busted with her in NAXA Rogue Net. And despite the spider's inability to fly, it was clear that she was a lot tougher than Drago was. Having survived a few battles in that dangerous Net, Drago had amassed the funds needed to upgraded himself and his SPs a little.

He was musing his newly gained power as he walked up to the main gate and saluted the guards on duty. "Hail and well met," he began. "Have our grand Generals or the mighty Shogun returned from their sorties yet? I am here to pick up any new assignments they have for me." He was unaware of the rancor he had earned among the rank-and-file. Though he seemed to not be as haughty as he usually was. Being beaten to near death in a Rogue Net would cause anyone pause.
One of the soldiers, a big fellow in shining glasses, met DragonierMan; despite DragonierMan's attempts at civility, the soldier wore a sour expression, seeming displeased to see him. "Hoy there," the soldier returned, without a smile. "Most of the generals are still absent, the rank and file don't know where. Subordinates may be able to tell you more. Regardless, lots of the subordinates over there are making a battle plan to take on some sort of watchtower... dunno where or what that is. Again, rank and file." He gave a salute, despite having been otherwise pretty irascible so far, and pointed in the direction DragonierMan ought to go. With that done, he head away and further into the camp.

Should DragonierMan take the directions, he would soon meet up with a gathering of Neo-Shogun subordinates, surprisingly great in number. The navis were seated around a long, black, shiny limousine, which looked very out of place in the setting. Standing next to the limousine was a very tall woman in black monk's robes, wearing a white, one-horned half-mask made of material like hardened bone. DragonierMan would recognize her as Escort; she remained very still with her arms crossed, seemingly not noticing his approach. Another smaller figure in white was recognizable as Sake, lying on the ground belly up. If she was supposed to be part of the meeting, she wasn't really contributing; her sleepy smile made it look like she didn't have a care in the world. Perhaps the most recognizable of the subordinates was Arch, who, dressed in her heavier gold-colored armor with tall helmet and long skirt, seemed to be bucking the uniform regulation for now. She was standing at Sake's head, speaking to the group.

Two more were there as well, neither immediately recognizable. The first was a woman in a blue robe with long, silken ropes hanging from each, dangling axe blades that seemed to swish precariously when she moved her arms. She was speaking to Arch, but appeared to be doing less talking and more listening. Her eyes were steel blue and her hair pinkish-purple, cropped very short. The other was a short girl in brown with red hair, done into two stiff ponytails out to either side. She wore a cowboy hat that again seemed a bit out of place, along with a brown uniform tunic running down to a little above the knees, sandals, and white cloth arm-bands. A rope trailed from her side. A contented smile adorned her freckled face as she brushed the hair of a horse... seemingly a regular, saddled horse, not a talking one or a navi or anything. She and the horse contributed equally to the planning phase.

"We've got plenty of time to arm those bombs! But not if we waste time talking out here-!" Arch protested to something the pink-haired girl had said, seeming a bit more independent without Dee around.

"Pebblewit, guard your tongue! She hears every word that you say. I know Watchtower, you don't, and I say your bombs are ill-suited for this task. You're a water-brained truffle-sniffer when it comes to strategy. Pipe down and let me finish-!" the other argued, tilting her chin up and setting her painted lips into a deep frown.

"I for one think we could use some fresh perspective," Escort added, in a voice that was somehow both commanding and respectful, as well as very loud, despite her usual mellow tone. "DragonierMan has joined us," she added, finally looking in his direction. "He has a good success rate turning around situations like this. If we want to defeat Watchtower, we should brief him first and get his input. Have you come to assist, DragonierMan?" she questioned, only now seeming to consider that maybe he was already on an assignment or otherwise not looking for one.

"And I'll introduce myself! Howdy, I'm Rodeo!" the girl in brown cried out, her head barely peeking over her horse's back. "I'm not actually a sub-or-dee-'net yet, this is supposed to be my inish-ee-ay-shun!" When she said that, she paused and smiled, but suddenly realized everyone was staring at her critically. "Uh, uh, well hey! Shoot, keeping lil' Genivieve here happy is eee-sential to me assistin' with the mishun!" she insisted, waving her horse-brush in the air. "Oh, right! This is Genevieve, my trusty pardner! Ya can touch her if ya like!"

The woman in blue was watching passively, but raised an eyebrow inquisitively when she noticed DragonierMan waiting for another introduction. "Don't be a dunderhead... I'm Guillotine, we've already met before. I was armored at that point, but... hmph," she murmured, turning up her sneer again. That appeared to be all the introduction she wanted to give. "Now, if it pleases you, recall that I'm former ROT, as loathsome as the fact may be. I know Watchtower better than any of us. Please join the others in shutting up while I speak!"

"Alright, I'll say it- I don't trust her!" Arch protested, swinging her arms in an X. "How can we? The ROT are navis who attack innocent people for the crime of not being up to their standards of power. You can't just hang up that banner so easily! Now she's advising us this... bizarre plan while Watchtower gets closer and closer... I think she's just buying time for her ally to prepare!"

DragonierMan would probably need to try to establish some order if he wanted to learn what was happening.
