((I assume you want to get the +5 damage for Same Element (Fire) battlechips right (you get +5 base according to the rules)? You might want to list that in the future.))
With a one-two punch, the two Spidy's died fiery deaths. The Metrid tries to drop an inaccurate, exploding meteor onto DragonMan, and misses. Then the Puffy-F fires a bouncing bubble of fire at the navi, and also misses. Unfortunately for DragonMan, after it passes him, it bounces back towards him for another go.
-- Viruses --
SpidySpidy (Spider)
Spider viruses attack by setting webs on panels, objects, and other handy surfaces. The webs may even be strung between surfaces, such as blocking doorways. Anything that touches the webs triggers them detaching from whatever surface they were attached to and wrapping around the target. The webs cause a slow effect, as well as dealing damage for every action the target uses to dodge the following turn unless the webs are burned off, cut off, or removed by some other means. Status cure will not remove the webs, or the slow effect they generate. Spiders do not attack directly, and they may lay one panel's worth of webbing each turn for every action they possess. They may lay webs while moving. Spiders are immune to the effects of ANY WhiteWeb attacks, be they generated by Spider viruses or from battlechips. Webbing causes the target to become weak to fire, thus the next fire attack will deal double damage if the webs have not been removed first.

Though many fireballs were launched, only DragonMan's had any real success rate, eliminating the Spidy with little problem. "It seems there's little doubt as to who has true mastery of flames!"
"I really hate to burst your bubble here, but, uh...the bubble's coming back."
"I'm quite aware of that. But it's not exactly the quickest, so I have a little time before it bounces back over here. Ah, I know. What say we destroy its creator before it returns, so I needn't worry at all?"
"Hmm...that could work. Do that, then...the Metrid could...yeah, it's a good plan. But, let's not get on that sand if we can help it. You can't fly yet, so that's going to hinder your movement, and you're not the most mobile of Navis as is."
"...Yes, rub it in, why don't you. That will change soon enough!"
"For now, just worry about that Puffy! Here, this, and your innate powers, should be enough." And by this, she meant a nice, fire-free chip. "BattleChip, Shotgun! Slot in!"
Once again, the draconic Navi started inhaling, but this time, the inside of his mouth took on an odd, blue hue. The reason for this became obvious, as an azure fireball shot out from it, flying right at the floating pufferfish. "...A blue fire?"
"Well, it's not Fire elemental, so...dragon's breath packs a punch, regardless of element, it seems."
"Perhaps. But I prefer a flame blue from heat, not element!" To punctuate this, he breathed out another ball of fire, this one unmistakably orange and red. While not blue, it was unmistakably hot, as the air shimmered around it as it made its way toward the Puffy. If it hit, the resulting heat wave would make the sand melt down, first to glass, but then into base molten rock. "Of course, I'm fond of all heat, regardless of color."
"Noted."
However, he was also fond of not being injured, so he took a moment to keep track of any potential meteors, or still-existant fire bubbles that sought him out, and prepared for evasive action.

DragonMan's Shotgun blast hit the Puffy-F straight on, heavily wounding it. It spat out another bouncing bubble of fire at DragonMan. It missed, but began to bounce around to come back at him next turn. The other bouncing ball of fire bounced right past DragonMan and crashed into a tree, exploding and setting both the tree and grass on fire. Looked like Netfrica was going to potentially get another wildfire going soon.
DragonMan then spat a fireball at the Puffy-F and deleted it with more fire. The fire turned the sand to glass, before it melted into lava. Then the Metrid tries to drop an inaccurate meteor on DragonMan. It of course misses. Also looks like that bouncing ball of fire is coming back!

"A pitiful effort from what turned out to be a pitiful foe." That almost felt too easy. DragonMan took a moment to ponder whether that meant he was that good, or the virus really was that weak.
"Not so fast. Look to your left!"
The draconic Navi did so, immediately finding himself perplexed by the sight. "Hold a moment...even though I killed the virus, its attack remains?"
"Yeah. I'm not sure why, but it's definitely the case, so...keep an eye on that."
"Or, I can simply ensure it never gets another chance to hit me!" He suddenly bolted from his spot, soon gliding his way over to the tree protecting his lone remaining adversary. Hmm. The tree looked like it would be easily burned, giving him a free shot on the Metrid behind it. Yet, not only would Ruby disapprove, it might provoke the virus somehow. Aside from shooting meteors, he knew little of it...as much as it pained him, the hack and slash approach alone wouldn't do. But he had an idea. "Ruby, prepare the FireSword!"
"All right. So long as you aren't cutting down the tree!"
"I'm not an imbecile! I know you don't wish it, and so I will keep my claws retracted for the moment!" Instead, as he approached the tree, he veered to the left slightly, and landed at its side. "Now!"
"BattleChip, FireSword! Slot in!"
DragonMan's left claws began to give off a fiery aura, and reared back...and slashed straight ahead in a wide slash. If his calculations were correct, the wide range would curve around the edge of the tree, and hit the wizard virus, and burn it in one fell swoop. It wouldn't be good for the grass, but that would grow back. More importantly, the battle would be over, and he could claim his rewards for a fight well done. Plus, he could celebrate cyber Arbor Day without guilt. ...Except for the part that he wouldn't celebrate it. And even if he did, he wouldn't feel bad about eliminating one tree.
He would, however, feel bad about missing...but not so much that he wouldn't have the sense to avoid the incoming meteor. He was no fool.

The bouncing fireball bounced right past DragonMan, who managed to dodge it, and puffed out as it reached the end of the battlefield. The Metrid's meteors were also a miss, being so inaccurate. And finally DragonMan's FireSword bisected and burned alive both the Tall Tree C, the Metrid, and the grass beneath their feet. Victory for the dragon navi.

Special: Webs cause damage when player dodges. A: DELETED

Well, shoot. He slashed too hard. DragonMan could have stopped his claw before completely tearing apart the tree as it burned to ashes, but at that point, why even bother? More importantly, before that, he felt the Metrid shred apart into junk data from the attack, so the battle was won. "There. I believe that shows who's whose superior."
"Unless it comes to your blade work, since as you may have noticed, you kinda sorta lopped that tree down. Or burned it down. Honestly, it was so quick even I couldn't really tell."
"Yes, yes, I know. The important thing is, the last virus is gone."
"Yeah, and that's great, but you couldn't have at least TRIED to stop your swing early?"
"It could have been worse. The entire field could be awash in a sea of fire."
"Don't sidestep the question!"
The Navi simply shrugged, and started collecting the remnant data. "Here. I believe this should ease your mood slightly."
Ruby watched her zenny total rise, and while certainly not a bad thing, didn't exactly win her over. "You need to be careful! Yes, you're capable of great destructive power! That doesn't mean you always have to destroy stuff!"
"That sounds boring. But worry not your pretty little head, o great operator. I'll make an attempt at it. Anything beyond that is just lying to you."
"Ugh, fine..."
"Now, I do believe there are more viruses around here to crush. Let's see how long it takes to find them." DragonMan stomped along, content to leave the partially burnt, but still mostly intact area in order to find new dangers to triumph over.

The wilds of Netfrica didn't take very long to throw more hostiles in his direction, and he'd only walked for about another minute or so, when a strong wind began to pick up, blowing sand against DragonMan's face intermittently. Just ahead of him, a low, broad arch of stone rose from the ground, and it looked to have the shape of a bubbly candle sitting in the middle of it, its flame flickering in the eerie shape of a figure.
Beneath, the source of the sudden breeze, a wind machine clicked on and off every few moments, blowing the sand around. Another of the fiery puffy variants floated a little way off to the side of the arch, but a more curious sight still was the tall iron obelisk on the far side of the archway, which appeared to have, of all things, a rather out-of-place looking Cregg perched on the flat top. Barking below heralded a single, lone Spikey poking its head out from behind the pillar to threaten and trail lick of fire from its jaws at DragonMan as he drew closer. The battle looked set, but just as he was free to size up the competition, a small portal opened dangerously close by, and another virus dropped down on thin strings to blow a gout of choking pollen in his direction. DragonMan was able to avoid the cone of spores, this time, and the other viruses looked to be getting themselves ready to fight. Well, except the windbox, but that was to be expected. It did click itself back on again though.

CreggCregg (Cregg)
The Cregg version is a brown scaly egg with red spots. Most notably, it possesses a long gray tail that extends from a crack in the egg's rear, which is constantly on fire. It moves around by emitting flames from cracks in the scaly shell, trying to hit an enemy. The Lizegg is the same, but grows four gray scaly legs and feet that pop out of the egg and two holes at the front for two shining yellow eyes. It retains the tail from its weaker form, though the flames are a bit more intense. The egg grows slightly. Its scales also become stronger which allows it to pop back in for a defensive action. The Raptegg's hind legs grow more so it can stand on them. Its head, similar to that of a raptor but gray, pops out of the egg too and a long gray scaly tail that moves behind him frantically, which is covered in roaring fire. The egg grows slightly again. Same as the Lizegg, it can also pop everything back in for a defensive action, though it is better than its lower version at this.

Area: Kotobuki Town, Netfrica, Hades Isle, NetVegas
HP: 100
Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Fire + Square Attack + Ground Attack
Attack Accuracy: B
Attack Description: Creates flame spire in a square. Targets panels.
Element: Fire
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): BurnSquare1, Zenny
Special: Immobile.
Special: Heat Body: This virus is immune to Fire damage and associated effects.
Special: Square Attack: Attacks a 2 panel x 2 panel square area.
Special: Candle: Can be snuffed by Wind, which prevents it from attacking. Fire relights it.: 100Hp [Middle of Arch][Normal]
WindBoxWindBox (Wind & Fan)
All viruses in this family are immobile during combat, with the exception of being able to turn to face any direction it wishes. Later versions of this virus may switch between Wind and Fan effects, which requires one action, during which time all wind or fan effects cease. Bonuses and penalties do not stack if multiples of the same virus family exist on the field. Wind and Fan do not push or pull Objects, only creatures.
Area: SciLab, Yoka, Beach, Sharo, Netfrica, Hades Isle
HP: 100
Attack Damage/Effect: Wind Effect, Northwind
Attack Accuracy: S
Attack Description: Causes a large scale gale of wind to blow across the entire field in the direction the virus is facing. This gale will constantly move all targets this virus considers to be enemies in the direction the wind is blowing, which makes it difficult to land many kinds of attacks on it and allied viruses, such as thrown attacks and close ranged attacks. All those affected by the wind will also have their barriers and auras blown off by a constant Northwind effect.
Element: None
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): Wind, Zenny
Special: Causes short ranged attacks, such as (but not limited to) swords, melee attacks, and flame thrower style weapons, to suffer from a 30% accuracy penalty against targets they are being pushed away from. Both sides of the engagement suffer a 30% accuracy penalty with direct attacks perpendicular to the direction of the wind, and all thrown attacks.
Special: Those allied with this virus may opt to take advantage of the wind to increase movement speed or evasion by going with the wind. They do not suffer any penalties, however. Conversely, anyone may move along with the wind to increase accuracy by 10% for close ranged attacks, assuming the target is in that direction.
Special: Northwind effect to all enemies once per virus action while maintaining wind effect.: 100Hp [Beneath Arch][Sand]
SpikeySpikey (Spikey)
Spikey viruses are a little faster than the average virus, allowing them to cover more ground than normal with movements and dodges. They may attack while moving, but as normal, they cannot attack while dodging without expending a second action to do so. Spikey viruses are also able to use something called 'pack tactics' when 3 or more of them are present. Simply put, the Spikey viruses attack and dodge as a wolf pack. In addition, they are treated as having a reduced power Haste and Accuracy Enhancement effect which grants them a +5% bonus to evasion and accuracy while this effect is active. The effect is passive, and only expires when their numbers drop below 3.

The first hint that he'd found something was some wind blowing into his face. The second hint was...the exact same thing happening again. And again. But it was in fixed intervals...not random enough to be a simple environmental matter. A closer inspection revealed that, yep, there were viruses up ahead. "Aha! My next targets!"
"Okay, let's see here..." ...Unlike her Navi, Ruby wasn't really liking what she was seeing. "Nope. This is beyond your ability right now."
"...You seem highly certain of that. And pray tell, why is this beyond my ability?"
"It's actually pretty simple. See that candle? I remember it from virus class in high school...it's immune to Fire elemental attacks. But, that WindBox severely hampers close range attacks, which most of your non-Fire moves are. For that matter, so are your stronger Fire moves. So, you'd have to spend a good while whittling it down, during which you'll be getting blasted by the other viruses, and by the sandstorm it's kicking up. Oh, and if you miss even once, we'd have to resort to moves WindBox can blow back. See the problem?"
"...So you don't trust me to handle this? I must admit, that hurts, coming from you."
"It's not that, it's just, we're not strong enough to overcome such a handicap. You're a great Navi, DragonMan, but you and I both have a long way to go!"
"...Grr...so be it. If you feel that strongly about it, I'll withdraw. But rest assured, it's not something I'll be doing again any time soon!" Fortunately, while the winds hindered his attacking, being blown away could actually help with his fleeing. Letting out a roar, he turned around, and brought up his wings, to catch the air current leading away from the area, and began riding it. Retreating from a fight...this was one thing he vowed to never repeat.

After a brief tactical assessment, and an honest appraisal of their options, Ruby's more cautious urgings won out and DragonMan backed off from the scene before any of the nearby viruses could have a go at him. It wasn't really running from a battle or retreating, really, since he was just opting not to engage in the first place. More a superior tactician's decision of which battles to pick and which not. In this case, it was easy enough to explore in a different direction to the cluster of viruses he'd witnessed up ahead.

"Argh!" The instant DragonMan confirmed that nothing was following him or trying to attack him, he stopped his flight, and rather pointedly stomped at the ground. "This running...it shames us both!"
"Yeah...we just aren't strong enough as NetBattlers to reliably fight in a place like that, I guess."
"Well then, we have but one recourse. We find ways to remedy that as quickly as possible!" One thing was becoming clear: staying here was probably a bad idea at this point.
"Right. You wanna jack out, or just head to another area?"
"We may as well regroup before trying somewhere else. Jack me out as you will."
"Actually, now that I think about it, there's a spot in ACDC Area I wanted to have a look at."
"Oh? ...So, you're beginning your tour?
"More or less. You'll get lots of battling from it, anyway, so we both win!"
"Fair point. But I can't head there until you jack me out." He almost instantly heard a click. It sounded like it was...annoyed, for some reason. More importantly, he was about to beam out of the Net. And so he did.
