He prepared his own defensive stance quickly, but seeing raised blades seemed to really tickle the two Swordy viruses who, with a brief helmeted nod to each other, both warped forward to engage him at once. The first came in with a long piercing stab, leaving some distance between itself and SliceMan; the less common position was enough to let it come very close to slipping its blade past his guards; SliceMan took a tiny scratch, nothing more. the second appeared a moment after, directly in front of its counterpart and much closer, swinging its sword with a broad sweep, but SliceMan was able to fend this one off much more handily.
Wile he was engaged with these foes, his helpful sandworm sprung a surprise attack from behind, diving from the back in a line that aimed to punch through both the sought-after Totem, and the Viney as well. The first was a clean strike, and it easily destroyed the targeted virus. the second, however, proved harder to hit, and the snake plunged back into the ground without quite connecting.
As SliceMan began to back off from the violently boiling kettle, The Viney behind it shuddered again and a series of whippish vines burst up from the ground beneath him, binding tightly and restricting his movement. It didn't last too long, however, as the boosted boiler blew a second later, covering the nearby area in a furious blast of steam and boiling water. SliceMan himself shrugged it off, and the vines encasing him quickly fell away, allowing him to back off further. When the steam cleared, however, he found himself alone on the battlefield. He may have been a touch closer to the kettle than he'd have liked, but it was good fortune in the end; several of the viruses clustered around him were also far too close and the result was a swift victory. And also a lot more mud than had been here previously. Oh well.
On the bright side, he now had some more spoils to collect up, including what looked like some easily convertible chip data from the Totem virus. there was also the question of the green crystal, just a little way off, which was now his to deal with at leisure.

VineyViney (Viney)
Viney viruses do not move or dodge. Viney viruses require the presence of Grass, Soil, or Mud terrain in order to appear in battle, and they always appear on these terrain types. Vineys are rooted in place, and cannot be moved. The main body of a Viney is immune to any and all forms of attack except fire element damage, but the vines the viruses uses to attack with are vulnerable to all attacks. The virus attacks by using a group of thorny vines to creep up out of a nearby panel, then move towards the victim in hopes of capturing them. Once the vines make contact, they wrap around the victim, and hold them in place while causing damage. The vines can only be escaped from by the target if the target dedicates an action with decent roleplay attempting to escape. The vines may also be cut or burned in order to allow the target to escape, but in the case of fire, the target sustains double the fire damage of the attack used to burn the vines. Summoning the group of vines requires an action, moving the vines requires an action, and damage is dealt to a captured target for each action the Viney spends trying to hold the target in place. Both the vines and the virus itself are damage zones. Any damage either one sustains counts against the virus' HP. Both are subject to terrain effects and those effects stack as if the virus were in two places at the same time (because it basically is).
Area: Okuden Valley, Yumland, Netfrica, Dentech
HP: 80
Attack Damage/Effect: 10 Wood + Bind
Attack Accuracy: A
Attack Description: Seeks and wraps enemies by sticking writhing vines through the ground.
Element: Wood
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): Rope1, Zenny
Special: Bind: This is a virus-only form of instantly-activating Hold that does not count as a status effect (thus cannot be removed with status cure). Bind works on a per-action basis, instead of per-turn, and is maintained by physical contact with the source. A target suffering the effects of Bind also becomes weak to Fire. Bind is canceled by attacking the source with Fire or Slashing damage, or spending one or more actions to escape with good RP quality. Using Fire to remove the Bind source also damages the trapped victim.
Special: Immobile.
- Vines can be attacked for damage.: DELETED
HeavyHeavy (Heavy)
Heavy viruses move slowly, and only dodge when they attack. When a Heavy attacks, it teleports to a position to the left or right of the intended target, and proceeds to try to ram the target with a quick sideways motion. The number of times it will consecutively attempt to ram the target before teleporting back to its starting position depends entirely on the number of actions the virus has. Teleporting before and after the attack do not require an action. Movement and attacking are one and the same to this virus, thus even a non-attack collision with it is damaging.

HP: 75
Attack Damage/Effect: 15 Null + Line Attack + Impact + Break
Attack Accuracy: C
Attack Description: Teleports into enemy area, shakes side to side, and slams into everything in it's path. Can attack up to 3 enemies at once.
Element: None.
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): Shake1, Zenny
Special: Uses Areagrab as a free action.: DELETED
TotemTotem (Totem)
Totems always begin in attack mode. They switch modes (spin around) when they take damage. Mode switching is automatic, and doesn't require an action. When hit with a Multi-Hit attack, the Totems will switch modes for however many times they are hit. An even number of hits will result in no change, and an odd number of hits will leave the Totems on the opposite mode. Multi-Hit attacks happen quickly enough that the Totems will not take an action in between the multiple mode changes.
